- 2:13Speaker 1: I love that you don't even know who Joel and
- 2:15Speaker 1: I are booking on the show. I handle the bookings
- 2:19Speaker 1: and Joel and danill make contact with them, and it's
- 2:23Speaker 1: a surprise to you.

- 2:50Speaker 3: Did we talk to Johnny already?
- 2:52Speaker 1: Well? I I worked out a long time ago, saying
- 2:55Speaker 1: when do you want to come on? And I guess
- 2:58Speaker 1: I assume you guys we're shooting the ship with him.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I apologize about that.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Well, no, maybe it was a communication breakdown. Donald. You
- 3:06Speaker 1: can you can laugh at me if you want, But
- 3:08Speaker 1: I I don't know what's funny right now. Let's call
- 3:13Speaker 1: him and see.
- 3:13Speaker 3: If he answer. Let's find out.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure he's ready. Hey, Johnny C. It's
- 3:20Speaker 1: Zach Braff. Where you are you coming on the show today? Right?
- 3:24Speaker 6: Today?
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh? The twenty ninth. Okay, okay, I I had
- 3:31Speaker 1: a miscommunication and now I wasn't sure if it was
- 3:33Speaker 1: today or the twenty nine. Think Donald's laughing at me? Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 1: twenty nine, hey zacky? Yeah, when when you started screaing?

- 4:01Speaker 1: We're doing the podcast. Okay, Well, I I look like
- 4:05Speaker 1: an idiot right now. I'm okay with it.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And you don't look like an idiot. Hold on, you
- 4:09Speaker 2: were about to go in on me though you were
- 4:11Speaker 2: about to go.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I just think it's funny that you don't always know
- 4:15Speaker 1: who's on the show. Yes, do I look like an
- 4:17Speaker 1: idiot right now? Sure? And I think it's always important
- 4:20Speaker 1: when one looks like an idiot, that they acknowledge that
- 4:24Speaker 1: they do and that.
- 4:25Speaker 3: They love you. You know what, I love you more.
- 4:27Speaker 3: But here's the thing.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You didn't have to apologize for that because it makes
- 4:30Speaker 2: for good pod.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Good pod. Oh you're short ningked now you give good pod?
- 4:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 4:35Speaker 2: You give great pod. Your pod skills are like top notch.
- 4:42Speaker 1: When you give pod, I just want to scream, dude.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I freaking make I make audible noises when you're giving pod.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I just when I pod with you, I just want
- 4:52Speaker 1: to shoot my never mind, you ruined it well myself.
- 4:59Speaker 3: We were on the right track, but it.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Started to get r rated, and I I said, don't
- 5:07Speaker 1: like R rated content.
- 5:08Speaker 2: We could have kept it that way and when somebody
- 5:10Speaker 2: was like, yo, you guys are being too uh racey,
- 5:14Speaker 2: graphic or racy, we could be like, get your mind
- 5:16Speaker 2: out of the other. We're talking about podcasting. You automatically
- 5:20Speaker 2: went to your pod is so good. I want to shoot,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and then there was no returning. There was no returning
- 5:26Speaker 2: from that.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I fucked up. I fucked up again. Donald. I feel
- 5:32Speaker 1: maybe we can have Danel bleep some stuff because you
- 5:35Speaker 1: and I, rather than try and censor things when they
- 5:38Speaker 1: get pornographic, it would just be better to be ourselves.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And then when we listen to the edit, we can say, damn,
- 5:43Speaker 1: just beat that out beat it beat beat beat beat
- 5:46Speaker 1: beat beat that.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Out beat beat beat that out beat beat beat. Here
- 5:54Speaker 3: we go, put everybody gether around, getting.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Out the someone's calling me my agent. Should I answer it? Answer?
- 6:06Speaker 1: What if what if they have? What if they had
- 6:08Speaker 1: amazing news? What if they were like you got that
- 6:11Speaker 1: fucking boar? No? No, no, I I never I never
- 6:16Speaker 1: like to whatever your agent calls. It's either I mean,
- 6:19Speaker 1: obviously it can be medium medium news, but it's either
- 6:22Speaker 1: good news or bad news. I don't want to talk
- 6:24Speaker 1: to them right now. It's I'm really I'm waiting for
- 6:26Speaker 1: this giant megastar to say that he might want to
- 6:30Speaker 1: be in my movie.
- 6:32Speaker 3: When you say giant mega star.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm saying I'm I'm not. I don't try and guess, please.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But I am.
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's that level, but not that age. It's it's a
- 6:45Speaker 1: it's an older fellow. But I'm not gonna listen. Please
- 6:47Speaker 1: don't guess because I I don't.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I I just I'm nervous, And let me ask you
- 6:52Speaker 3: a question. These are sincere questions.
- 6:56Speaker 1: You like, I know you've had like half a bottle
- 6:58Speaker 1: of bourbon at once.
- 6:59Speaker 2: This is this is all I'm again. Do you think
- 7:03Speaker 2: you could beat Brad Pitt in a foot race?
- 7:06Speaker 1: No? I can't be Brad Pitt at anything except maybe
- 7:08Speaker 1: singing show tunes.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Do you think you could be Brad Pitt at tennis.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Unless he's never played, probably not. I feel like he's
- 7:16Speaker 1: probably athletic. I've seen his abs.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Just because you've got abs, don't mean you're asking if you.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Have abs, you're probably a smidge in athletic.
- 7:23Speaker 3: No.
- 7:23Speaker 2: No, that's like, that's like, that's that's judging a book
- 7:26Speaker 2: by its cover.
- 7:27Speaker 1: All Right, you're right, you're right. Why do you bring
- 7:29Speaker 1: up Brad Pitt?
- 7:30Speaker 2: I'm just wondering because every time somebody says anything about anything,
- 7:35Speaker 2: you bring up Brad Pitt.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Do you want to dock with Brad Pitt?
- 7:37Speaker 7: No?
- 7:37Speaker 1: I don't want to doc Brad Pitt. I god, how
- 7:41Speaker 1: many We're five minutes into the show you're talking about
- 7:42Speaker 1: docking already, Dude.
- 7:44Speaker 3: No, because I'm a little upset, I'm not. I take
- 7:48Speaker 3: that back. I'm not upset.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm a little uh disturbed because this docking with Leo
- 7:54Speaker 2: thing has gone on.
- 7:55Speaker 1: It's caught fire. It's a lot of things are catching
- 7:58Speaker 1: fire on the podcast. You know what else is caught fire?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Everyone's telling me their favorite new song is what you're
- 8:03Speaker 1: trying to get into? What day are shown?
- 8:06Speaker 3: What you're trying to do? I love the fact that
- 8:08Speaker 3: everybody's spelling it correctly too.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I bet they googled that ship. They didn't want
- 8:12Speaker 1: to be disrespectful to you.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I like that. I like that, by the way.
- 8:14Speaker 1: You know what, not only is that song fire, let's
- 8:17Speaker 1: be honest, but a lot of people don't know there's
- 8:19Speaker 1: I've I've written a second I had not just recently,
- 8:21Speaker 1: but back in the day when I came up with
- 8:23Speaker 1: this song, there was a second line to it. Do
- 8:24Speaker 1: you know what it is? The thing you're trying to
- 8:27Speaker 1: get into? What day you're shown? What is ant?
- 8:35Speaker 3: It was better away?
- 8:37Speaker 1: No, No, that's the second fucking line of the song.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Don't tell me why what you're trying.
- 8:40Speaker 3: To get into? What you're trying to do?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Two three four? The thing you're trying to get into
- 8:51Speaker 1: you're shown comic? What is it? Normally though, people know
- 8:56Speaker 1: when they're writing it down. Oh man, we got to
- 9:00Speaker 1: get someone to fucking remix this song for us.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I just think I should be a ring tone. I
- 9:04Speaker 2: would I would not mind that being a ringtime come up.
- 9:07Speaker 2: In fact, somebody named their kitten shoe I know, so
- 9:10Speaker 2: they could sing what.
- 9:12Speaker 3: You're trying to get into?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Joelle can you tell the the ringtone folks that we
- 9:21Speaker 1: would like to make the deoshune song a ringtone.
- 9:25Speaker 8: I can't.
- 9:26Speaker 5: I think there may be a limitations only one ringtone
- 9:30Speaker 5: up at a time, or.
- 9:33Speaker 1: No, we have like four up. We've got the theme song,
- 9:36Speaker 1: We've got no, sorry, we've got the theme song. We've
- 9:39Speaker 1: got Donald's just for a notification. Why would there be
- 9:44Speaker 1: a limit to ringtone.
- 9:45Speaker 3: No, it wasn't it. You're right.
- 9:47Speaker 5: It was a naming problem because we had the the
- 9:50Speaker 5: twice and they were like, oh.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Yeah, my bad ring tone twice. All right, let me
- 9:56Speaker 1: let me lay it down. Clean everybody for the ring. Everybody,
- 9:59Speaker 1: keep it down, everybody, everbody, keep it down. I'm gonna
- 10:01Speaker 1: need this cleaner the ring here. I go, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, just.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Do the first verse. You don't need to do the
- 10:08Speaker 3: second verse.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Let me fucking warm up, please. Mommy made me mash
- 10:12Speaker 1: my m and ms. Mommy made me mash my m
- 10:14Speaker 1: and ms. The lips, the tip of the teeth, the tongue,
- 10:15Speaker 1: the lips, the tip of the teeth, the tongue, whether
- 10:16Speaker 1: it be cold, whether it be hot, will be together
- 10:18Speaker 1: whatever the whetherether we like it or not, Okay, that's
- 10:20Speaker 1: really fast.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Whether the weather is cold, whether the weather is hot,
- 10:22Speaker 3: will we be together whether the weather, whether you.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Like it or not. What whether be cold, whether it
- 10:25Speaker 1: be hot, will be together, whatever the weather, whether we
- 10:27Speaker 1: like it or not.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Peter Piper, the pick a peck of picker picked a
- 10:29Speaker 2: peck of pickle peppers, pickle picklepeppers.
- 10:31Speaker 3: The Peter Piper, the pickle pepper.
- 10:32Speaker 1: What you're trying to get into?
- 10:32Speaker 3: Adation?
- 10:33Speaker 1: What you're trying to get into? Adation? What's trying to
- 10:34Speaker 1: get into? Didation? Am I gonna see me there? It
- 10:40Speaker 1: is perfect pitch. What you're trying to get into?
- 10:43Speaker 8: What day shoon?
- 10:45Speaker 1: What you're trying to do?
- 10:50Speaker 3: I like to you watch some growl and I did.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I put a little growl on it. If it's gonna
- 10:53Speaker 1: be a ringtone, people deserve a little growl. That's fire. Okay, Dan,
- 10:58Speaker 1: make me sound good.
- 10:59Speaker 3: That's it.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I don't want reaver, but maybe a little bit of audits. No,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I don't need audits too. And that was perfect. It
- 11:04Speaker 1: was perfect. So many things I wanted to talk to
- 11:06Speaker 1: you about. It actually took notes. I took. Now that
- 11:08Speaker 1: Johnny's not in here, we don't have to fucking I
- 11:11Speaker 1: got my Xbox set up. A lot of people wing
- 11:15Speaker 1: in on the games I should play, and please continue
- 11:19Speaker 1: to suggest games. So just to be clear, I have
- 11:21Speaker 1: a brand new Xbox One. I like. I learned it's
- 11:25Speaker 1: called a third person.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Right, that's what it's third person shooter.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Third person shooter. I liked over the shoulder. I I
- 11:34Speaker 1: don't like spells and fantasy stuff like I don't want
- 11:38Speaker 1: to know about spells. So an example is Hitman. You
- 11:41Speaker 1: guys have said Red Dead Redemption, right, That's how I
- 11:45Speaker 1: call it? And yeah, Joelle, you would suggested the one
- 11:51Speaker 1: where you're it's travels through time and you're a killer.
- 11:54Speaker 3: What's it called Assassin's Creed?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Assassin's Creed? So if anybody has any games like that, now,
- 12:01Speaker 1: what if I want to play versus a friend of
- 12:03Speaker 1: mine in my house?
- 12:05Speaker 2: What's those games like Red Dead Redemption are good for
- 12:08Speaker 2: that they have an online that's really awesome where you
- 12:11Speaker 2: can go on missions and still.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Do really, but if there's a friend who's in my pod,
- 12:14Speaker 1: who's sitting in my living room, can I can? I?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Can I play him? What's a good game to play him?
- 12:19Speaker 9: Uh?
- 12:19Speaker 3: Well, then you'd have to play go ahead.
- 12:21Speaker 10: Oh you know, I don't want to interrupt. But there
- 12:23Speaker 10: are games called overcooked. Overcooked as a team cooking game.
- 12:27Speaker 10: One of the games that Donald mentioned, Castle Crashers, is
- 12:30Speaker 10: a fun you know sport or fun you know team game.
- 12:32Speaker 10: And then my favorite game is called Rocket League. And
- 12:35Speaker 10: Rocket League is car is a soccer in cars with
- 12:38Speaker 10: rockets on the back.
- 12:39Speaker 2: That's really you might want to get into some sports
- 12:42Speaker 2: games like FIFA.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I was gonna get a tennis that's cool too, That's
- 12:47Speaker 3: really cool. Yeah, Hey if I.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Play you, can I play you tennis over the internet. Yes,
- 12:53Speaker 1: let's do that, because I'll fucking crush you. Look at
- 12:58Speaker 1: his face is look out fist. If I can't beat
- 13:03Speaker 1: you in sports in real life, I'm gonna friggin crush
- 13:06Speaker 1: you on.
- 13:06Speaker 3: The inter Probably beat me in tennis right now, man?
- 13:08Speaker 3: In real life, yep, I probably could.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Okay, that's one thing. Once I got it, and then
- 13:13Speaker 1: and then I took notes because I had so much
- 13:15Speaker 1: to say today. Joel, the game you had said that
- 13:18Speaker 1: you loved on the Switch. A lot of people said
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's like the prettiest game they've ever seen, and I
- 13:23Speaker 1: need to buy a Switch just to play that. Zelda game.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, said that.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Well, Joel and Daniel weighed in heavily. They we agree
- 13:33Speaker 1: with you. We agree with you one hundred percent. Now,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I tried to get a switch, by the way, and
- 13:37Speaker 1: they're they're sold out or marked up. Like I said
- 13:39Speaker 1: to Donald, these are things really six hundred bucks and
- 13:41Speaker 1: he said, no, that's like a mark up. Now you
- 13:44Speaker 1: can't even get them. You can't even get them on
- 13:45Speaker 1: the interwebs.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You can get you could get a don't do it, Daniel,
- 13:50Speaker 2: don't do it, and you play in a ziplockbag.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Absolutely, you don't play yours anymore.
- 13:55Speaker 10: It's I mean I I play a lot of games,
- 13:58Speaker 10: and so it's you know, kind of just sitting here
- 14:00Speaker 10: for the time being.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Okay, well you.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Bring it over in your full ppe again and just.
- 14:08Speaker 3: You'll love Zelda. You'll really love Breath of the Wild. Okay,
- 14:11Speaker 3: if he.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Just gonna get a switch, because I I, uh, they're
- 14:14Speaker 1: like nine hundred dollars right.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Now, you need to switch. And then you go back
- 14:17Speaker 3: and be like I didn't.
- 14:18Speaker 5: I said, no wizardy stuff.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Zella's got a little bit of.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Magic in it. It's a lot of magic in it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: It's a lot they're going to be like, would you
- 14:25Speaker 1: like to cast a spell?
- 14:27Speaker 3: No?
- 14:28Speaker 10: Okay, all I'm saying is with Red Dead Redemption two,
- 14:32Speaker 10: I think there's something about the cinematic quality of that.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, some of the some of the people
- 14:38Speaker 1: on my love it.
- 14:39Speaker 3: You can go hunt, you can hunt.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Some of the people on my socials were saying that
- 14:44Speaker 1: I would like this game or that game because they
- 14:47Speaker 1: had a cinematic quality. And that's true. I would like
- 14:49Speaker 1: that Red Dead.
- 14:50Speaker 3: You would love Red Dead.
- 14:51Speaker 2: You're right about that, Daniel, because then you could play
- 14:53Speaker 2: the actual You don't even have to play online to start.
- 14:56Speaker 2: You could play the actual story mode.
- 14:58Speaker 3: And that's I play online.
- 15:00Speaker 1: What's the difference of playing online.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Well, you play with other people and then there's different
- 15:04Speaker 2: missions and you could create your own character.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Do you want to do that with me this weekend?
- 15:09Speaker 1: Do you want to go on a mission with me?
- 15:11Speaker 3: Absolutely, Let's do a mission.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Let's kill a bear, a virtual bear, everybody. I do
- 15:18Speaker 1: not believe in killing real bears unless they're chasing you.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Michelle Branch followed me on Twitter swear to gee, and
- 15:28Speaker 1: I was thinking I'm gonna follow her back, and I
- 15:30Speaker 1: was thinking about dming her and saying, will you come
- 15:33Speaker 1: play everywhere on the podcast?
- 15:36Speaker 3: That would be the best day ever. Turn me inside
- 15:38Speaker 3: out so I can.
- 15:40Speaker 1: See Joella's fanning herself everybody.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Joel's losing her ship.
- 15:47Speaker 1: This is the power of this podcast. This podcast is
- 15:50Speaker 1: always I saw Michelle Branch followed me, and I was like,
- 15:52Speaker 1: oh my god. And I didn't fall back immediately because
- 15:55Speaker 1: I was nervous. And then I thought I would present
- 15:57Speaker 1: to you guys the idea of her. Hey, since we're fans,
- 16:02Speaker 1: would you consider coming on and playing everywhere on the show. Donald,
- 16:05Speaker 1: what do you think that would be?
- 16:06Speaker 2: That would be amazing if we could start a little
- 16:09Speaker 2: concert series.
- 16:10Speaker 1: On Yeah, that's that's such a good idea.
- 16:14Speaker 3: We are we are with iHeart, We are with a witch.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Speaking of by the way we should, we should, And
- 16:19Speaker 1: speaking of that, I want to end the show today
- 16:21Speaker 1: with this amazing song. I sent it to you Donald.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It's by my girlfriend's brother. Now you might think, oh, Zach,
- 16:29Speaker 1: you're bias since your girlfriend's brother, But Toby Sebastian is
- 16:33Speaker 1: so talented and I genuinely love his music. And I
- 16:36Speaker 1: was like on the treadmill today working out to this
- 16:38Speaker 1: song called Number One lover. It's gonna be one of
- 16:41Speaker 1: my big summer jams. And if it's all right with you, Donald,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I thought we could five six, seven eight at the
- 16:46Speaker 1: end of the show into it.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fine. That's start this concerence here.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It's fire.
- 16:50Speaker 3: It's a fire real friends.
- 16:53Speaker 1: You guys are going to want to add it to
- 16:55Speaker 1: your playlist for for just summer bops. I think that's
- 16:58Speaker 1: what the kids call it, or your workout play this
- 17:01Speaker 1: because I was rocking out to it on the treadmill today.
- 17:03Speaker 2: So this is what we're gonna do, guys. We're gonna
- 17:05Speaker 2: start a little concert series. We're gonna come up with
- 17:07Speaker 2: a name.
- 17:07Speaker 1: We have Rayden.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Absolutely, we can have a bunch of people on This
- 17:12Speaker 2: is something that we're gonna do. We are with iHeart,
- 17:14Speaker 2: iHeart freaking handles all music. Yeah, maybe I do it
- 17:18Speaker 2: out legally and then we'll make this happen for you guys.
- 17:21Speaker 1: So I think if we just ask people obviously that
- 17:24Speaker 1: handles the legal or if they're not a giant you know, artist, uh,
- 17:28Speaker 1: and they're our friend, I'm sure that we're allowed to
- 17:31Speaker 1: play them.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I think if we just ask permission, I think that's
- 17:34Speaker 1: just about permission.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I assume, right, my my knowledge and this isn't isn't
- 17:38Speaker 2: that well?
- 17:39Speaker 1: You know, we can't just play, you know, a song,
- 17:41Speaker 1: but if we know the person or we ask permission,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I think we can play the song. There is my my,
- 17:48Speaker 1: my friend. I think he'll be fine. I think he'll
- 17:51Speaker 1: be thrilled. Because, by the way, this podcast is huge.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys realize this. I got
- 17:55Speaker 1: another fal and I got another love letter from Will saying,
- 17:59Speaker 1: holy shit, you guys are on fuego. So there's people
- 18:02Speaker 1: all over the world listening.
- 18:04Speaker 3: To this thing, and we appreciate them.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Thank you guys so much, you so much. We thought
- 18:08Speaker 1: it would be like our moms and maybe eleven people, but.
- 18:11Speaker 3: This well, I knew it wouldn't be my mom. I
- 18:13Speaker 3: knew it wouldn't be my mom, my mom, or my wife.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I think my mom may have given up. I think
- 18:17Speaker 1: she started. But I gotta tell you no, it's just
- 18:21Speaker 1: a great feeling. It's a great feeling. How many of
- 18:23Speaker 1: you are listening to this and whenever, Will from iHeart
- 18:28Speaker 1: sends Donald and I an email with with with holy
- 18:30Speaker 1: shit somewhere in the paragraph it's a good feeling. I
- 18:33Speaker 1: love it.
- 18:34Speaker 3: You know what we should do.
- 18:35Speaker 2: But five six stories, I'm not sure we made about
- 18:41Speaker 2: a bunch of dogs and nurses.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Said, he's a story.
- 18:51Speaker 8: So yea, yea.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Here did you get that new T Swift album?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Te Swift?
- 19:04Speaker 3: That first jam is fired?
- 19:06Speaker 1: That first jam is fire. She's got a song with
- 19:08Speaker 1: Bonnie Vera, which I really liked a lot of them.
- 19:10Speaker 1: If you heard that one.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yet, I've listened to a little bit of it. I
- 19:13Speaker 2: listened to the first song about what's the first song?
- 19:17Speaker 1: I think it's called like the first one or something
- 19:19Speaker 1: like that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Yeah, where it's like, you know, yo, I knew you'd
- 19:25Speaker 2: come back all of that stuff. I knew you'd come
- 19:27Speaker 2: back that. Like, that's the end of it, dude. She's
- 19:30Speaker 2: on some writing. She's got some writing in her right now.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Dude. She's not pressing around.
- 19:35Speaker 1: She's good and you know what she made it sort
- 19:37Speaker 1: of a I mean, I don't listened a whole thing,
- 19:38Speaker 1: but it's sort of ACOUSTICI and pianoy.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And it's folk. Man Like, you.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Can't say that that girl is not talented. If you're
- 19:45Speaker 1: out there, if there's a person out there, you might
- 19:47Speaker 1: not love her style, but you cannot be a human
- 19:50Speaker 1: being and not say that that girl has talent.
- 19:53Speaker 2: This is the conversation I was having because me and
- 19:55Speaker 2: my wife have this conversation all the time because I
- 19:57Speaker 2: kind of flip flop when it comes to Taylor. Like
- 20:00Speaker 2: I remember when it when she first came out, I
- 20:03Speaker 2: was like, that's like my little I want my daughter
- 20:05Speaker 2: to be Taylor Swift. And then she started tattletaling on
- 20:08Speaker 2: you know, who she's dating and everything and songs. I
- 20:10Speaker 2: was like, I'm not really into that, but let me
- 20:13Speaker 2: tell you something right now. The songs that she sings,
- 20:18Speaker 2: the way she writes, now, she's a She's a modern
- 20:22Speaker 2: day She's a modern day poet.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Man.
- 20:23Speaker 1: She she is.
- 20:24Speaker 3: A modern day.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Especially knowing that she writes her own stuff too. I mean,
- 20:30Speaker 2: I'm sure the young lady has got some tremendous songwriting skills.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I'm just understand that she's writing the lyrics on her own.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I think she's got she's got lots of collaborators with
- 20:40Speaker 1: the music. If I'm not mistaken, it does.
- 20:42Speaker 5: I don't care how her instruments, Yes, she does like
- 20:45Speaker 5: a lot of guitar and piano stuff. I mean, her
- 20:47Speaker 5: parents are in the recording industry, which is how she
- 20:49Speaker 5: sort of got involved and like, to your guys, this
- 20:52Speaker 5: credit her nineteen eighty nine album, which I think is
- 20:54Speaker 5: the album right, No, there's an album that one in
- 20:57Speaker 5: this one. But then I album sold so well and
- 20:59Speaker 5: did so like banger numbers, like other artists, like did
- 21:03Speaker 5: an entire rendition of the nineteen eighty nine album. Yeah,
- 21:06Speaker 5: I just copied it front to back. And so she's
- 21:09Speaker 5: been on that pop sea.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That that that that record's got so many dope songs
- 21:13Speaker 2: from shake It Off to got.
- 21:16Speaker 3: A long list of ex lovers.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Dude, I got one of those songs on my current
- 21:21Speaker 1: workout playlist. I want to tell you which one it is,
- 21:23Speaker 1: because this, by the way, my workout playlist. I really
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna come through and make a workout mix for
- 21:28Speaker 1: for for the people, because I mean, there's Avril Levigne
- 21:32Speaker 1: complicated on here. By the way, here's a really good
- 21:35Speaker 1: song you guys probably don't know by Weezer called Feels
- 21:37Speaker 1: Like Summer, and I highly recommend that song because it
- 21:42Speaker 1: is a great summer bop. As the kids say, wait,
- 21:45Speaker 1: what's my Taylor Swift song on this? Oh you need
- 21:47Speaker 1: to calm down. I like that yous somebody that we
- 21:49Speaker 1: don't know. But you're taking shots at me like it's
- 21:51Speaker 1: put on and I'm just like, damn, it's seven am.
- 21:56Speaker 3: You know I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 21:59Speaker 2: You're Jim playlist and my gym playlist are completely different.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I know that we've established that, but I have a
- 22:05Speaker 1: feeling because you like a lot of this girl pop
- 22:07Speaker 1: shit too, you just want to hide it in front
- 22:09Speaker 1: of our listeners.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I'm not hiding anything in front of our listener.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I feel like if you you might turn off DMX
- 22:15Speaker 1: from one of your workouts and put on Avril Levine.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Avril Labrine. Don't get me hype like DMX get me hype.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Just wait till you hear complicated with some bass.
- 22:25Speaker 3: That shit is so slow. Listen, wait, watch.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Did you watch some that I sent you the I
- 22:29Speaker 1: hate it when you don't reply to hurt my feeling.
- 22:34Speaker 1: You really hurts my feeling. I bet our listeners couldn't
- 22:37Speaker 1: believe that how many times you don't reply to me?
- 22:40Speaker 3: Dude.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Listen, man, here's the thing I said, Donald, it's always
- 22:44Speaker 2: nice stuff.
- 22:44Speaker 1: It's always It's not like, hey man, here's a request
- 22:46Speaker 1: to do something. It's like Hey man, there's this DMX
- 22:49Speaker 1: Snoop thing that's on. I think you're gonna like it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: No reply, no reply.
- 22:54Speaker 3: It was dope.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Oh so you didn't watch it. You didn't watch it.
- 22:57Speaker 1: It's interesting and you didn't even say I'm already watching.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Love you.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Thanks you for the recommend that was. You know, those
- 23:06Speaker 3: two got so many hits, it's ridiculous.
- 23:09Speaker 8: Uh.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I love DMX, I love Snoop Dogg. Shout out to
- 23:12Speaker 3: them both.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Should we get into the show.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Let's get into the show. Do you want to do
- 23:16Speaker 3: the breakdown?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Tipsy, I'm a little woozy, as the kids
- 23:21Speaker 2: say nowadays, you're you're woozy.
- 23:23Speaker 1: No woozy is when you've gone hard and then you
- 23:25Speaker 1: get tired.
- 23:26Speaker 3: No woozies when I'm a little drunk.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And then you take a little and then you take
- 23:30Speaker 1: a little nap.
- 23:31Speaker 2: And it's not that I take a little nap. The
- 23:35Speaker 2: booze forces me to nap.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Well, what my puppy does is she sprints around the yard,
- 23:40Speaker 1: sprince s Prince, Sprince, s Prince Sprince. And then it's
- 23:42Speaker 1: like her batteries are dead and she collapses and she's
- 23:45Speaker 1: woozy and now.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And then when you when you're woozy, you're also kind
- 23:48Speaker 2: of like disoriented, like your body's like I should be
- 23:51Speaker 2: standing but I can't.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Right, And then you yell at your friend, A'm woozy.
- 23:55Speaker 3: You ready? Yeah, get the stop Watch? Okay?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Stand by Donald? Am I stopwatch? Okay? Not World Clock?
- 24:03Speaker 1: Stop Watch? Okay and go.
- 24:06Speaker 2: This episode is about being humbled. JD and Carl are
- 24:09Speaker 2: both very high on their horses and mess with the
- 24:12Speaker 2: alpha in the hospital. Elliot has not only been cut
- 24:15Speaker 2: off financially from her father but also as misdiagnosed the patient.
- 24:20Speaker 2: The three of them experience the rise and falls of reality,
- 24:23Speaker 2: meaning there will be days in life where luck is
- 24:26Speaker 2: on your side and days when it's not. The question
- 24:30Speaker 2: is can you adjust and keep it moving forward?
- 24:33Speaker 1: Beautiful, beautiful twenty seven seconds. Nicely done, nicely done. This
- 24:39Speaker 1: is a very good, very good episode.
- 24:40Speaker 3: You liked this episode?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Yeah? I did? You didn't?
- 24:43Speaker 3: I laughed?
- 24:44Speaker 1: Did you not like it?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Times?
- 24:45Speaker 1: Okay, because you're you have fhazoned a little bit.
- 24:47Speaker 3: But I was all right to get phase OneD in
- 24:49Speaker 3: this episode.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Okay. Now, I thought the scene at the end with
- 24:55Speaker 1: Johnny C and I is one of the better scenes
- 24:57Speaker 1: of the show thus far.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, my wife, she got she watched the
- 25:01Speaker 3: show with me. This is her first time.
- 25:03Speaker 2: She's never really watched Scrubs before, so this is maybe
- 25:06Speaker 2: her third episode that she's actually seen.
- 25:09Speaker 1: My girlfriend total doesn't watch it either, so I can relate.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and she was like, oh my god, I just
- 25:13Speaker 3: teared up. It's like, okay, yeah, I.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Can tell you said I got to be honest with
- 25:19Speaker 1: you listeners and you my compatriots. I think that that
- 25:23Speaker 1: scene at the end of this episode where doctor Cox
- 25:26Speaker 1: comes in and has an honest moment with me. It's
- 25:28Speaker 1: not a very long scene. It's probably forty five seconds
- 25:31Speaker 1: if that is really moving, and Johnny c is really
- 25:35Speaker 1: good in it, and I think I'm proud of the
- 25:37Speaker 1: way I am in it too, And it's Scrubs at
- 25:39Speaker 1: its best, which was just dropping in and having a
- 25:43Speaker 1: really frank, emotional, but honest conversation and I got goosebumps
- 25:47Speaker 1: and it was very moving to me.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it was to me too. You know, you were lucky.
- 25:52Speaker 2: JD was very lucky this this this episode in the beginning, and.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Then he was unlucky.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And it was really it was really interesting to see
- 26:02Speaker 2: the dynamic of.
- 26:06Speaker 3: How he takes things.
- 26:08Speaker 2: He saved a patient's life in the beginning, and he's overjoyed.
- 26:13Speaker 2: He loses a patient and JD is such a good doctor. Now,
- 26:15Speaker 2: granted there's stuff behind it, like you know, he wants
- 26:20Speaker 2: to be He still wants to be the best he
- 26:22Speaker 2: possibly can be. But he goes to the morgue to
- 26:24Speaker 2: check out, Okay, what did I do wrong? How did
- 26:26Speaker 2: I mess up? What went wrong here? And just turns
- 26:30Speaker 2: out it wasn't his day and I thought. Even though
- 26:35Speaker 2: it's subtle and he doesn't respond in tears and he's
- 26:38Speaker 2: not breaking, he's not all broken up about the passing
- 26:41Speaker 2: of the patient. The fact that he cared enough to wonder, Okay,
- 26:44Speaker 2: why did I make a mistake? So where did I
- 26:47Speaker 2: make a mistake so I don't make it the next
- 26:48Speaker 2: time is really really important.
- 26:51Speaker 1: That's one of the things that can get lost in
- 26:53Speaker 1: all the the zaniness that's happening is that JD's a
- 26:56Speaker 1: really good doctor and also strives to be an extraordinary doctor.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Right and so when he when he feels he may
- 27:04Speaker 1: have fucked up, he's just obsessing about it and wants
- 27:07Speaker 1: to learn and wants to wants to be better and
- 27:09Speaker 1: wants to be great. So I don't know, I just
- 27:13Speaker 1: really like that. I love it when the show just
- 27:16Speaker 1: drops in and has just just a scene where people
- 27:19Speaker 1: are really honest and straight. And I thought that scene
- 27:21Speaker 1: at the end. Actually, it's funny when I when I
- 27:23Speaker 1: thought Johnny c was coming on this episode today, I
- 27:27Speaker 1: thought it was like, oh, I bet he because I
- 27:29Speaker 1: asked him. I said, hey, man, we want to have
- 27:31Speaker 1: you back, you know, pick pick which one you want
- 27:32Speaker 1: to come on for. And when I saw that scene,
- 27:34Speaker 1: I go, oh, I bet he wanted to come on
- 27:35Speaker 1: for this one because he's really good in that scene.
- 27:38Speaker 1: He's really good in the whole episode. And turns out
- 27:41Speaker 1: I was wrong.
- 27:43Speaker 2: You were You know, the whole thing is really about
- 27:46Speaker 2: you know, what JD goes through. But it's not because
- 27:49Speaker 2: even in stories where he seems to be the main
- 27:52Speaker 2: character in the whole episode, where it seems like it's
- 27:55Speaker 2: based on him, the story really is and it's about
- 27:59Speaker 2: who he's connect to, you know what I mean, It's
- 28:01Speaker 2: about who's connected to him. So like we had Tom
- 28:04Speaker 2: Kavanaugh on just recently, great episode by the way, and uh,
- 28:10Speaker 2: you really believe that it's the show Like when watching
- 28:13Speaker 2: it at first, I was like, oh, this is a show.
- 28:15Speaker 2: This episode is about how JD reacts to his brother. No,
- 28:18Speaker 2: this episode really is about Tom Cavanaugh. You know what
- 28:21Speaker 2: I mean, It's not about what. It's not about I
- 28:24Speaker 2: don't know, it's it's it's it's I'm having a hard
- 28:26Speaker 2: time explaining it right now. But I just feel like
- 28:31Speaker 2: JD is, even though he's the leader, he's the lead
- 28:35Speaker 2: on the show, the show is never really about him,
- 28:39Speaker 2: and this is one of those episodes where it was
- 28:41Speaker 2: about him and was about you know, how uh how
- 28:46Speaker 2: how serious he takes every how serious he takes this
- 28:49Speaker 2: job in the hospital.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Yeah, well said, well whatever, you can hate on me
- 28:58Speaker 3: all you want.
- 28:59Speaker 2: It's just it's just, you know, now I'm watching it
- 29:03Speaker 2: from a different point of view. Before I was watching
- 29:05Speaker 2: it or not watching it because I was on it,
- 29:08Speaker 2: And now that we've started this whole podcast thing, it's like, well,
- 29:12Speaker 2: you know, what is Bill trying to say? What are
- 29:13Speaker 2: the writers trying to say when they're making this. I
- 29:16Speaker 2: get that this has a long run and it's going
- 29:18Speaker 2: to be on for a really long time, but I
- 29:20Speaker 2: feel like every episode somebody's trying to say something, trying
- 29:26Speaker 2: to some messages trying to come.
- 29:28Speaker 1: In and also make it universal because obviously this is
- 29:30Speaker 1: an extreme work environment. This is they're literally dealing with
- 29:33Speaker 1: life and death. But make it universal for people who
- 29:37Speaker 1: no matter what your job is, no matter what your
- 29:38Speaker 1: relationship status is, that no matter what country live in,
- 29:42Speaker 1: that there's certain just truths about being a human and
- 29:46Speaker 1: being in love and having best friends and striving to
- 29:50Speaker 1: do great both in life and in your job that
- 29:53Speaker 1: are universal and and the show really attempts to tease
- 29:57Speaker 1: all that out so we can all share a common story.
- 30:00Speaker 2: But this episode, you know, it almost felt subliminal, you
- 30:04Speaker 2: know what I mean. It's like if you're not really
- 30:06Speaker 2: paying attention, you don't pick up on that. You just
- 30:08Speaker 2: pick up on the jokes and the fact that Cox is,
- 30:11Speaker 2: you know, back with Jordan, and you don't really dig
- 30:13Speaker 2: that deep into it. That's what really, to be honest
- 30:16Speaker 2: with you, this whole having to summarize the story in
- 30:20Speaker 2: thirty seconds, that's what that's doing for me now, because
- 30:22Speaker 2: now it's like, all right, what is this about?
- 30:24Speaker 3: What is what is the writer trying to say?
- 30:26Speaker 2: Yeah, in this story, it's not just about there's a
- 30:29Speaker 2: funny joke, at two minutes into the it's it's more
- 30:32Speaker 2: than that. It's about you know, overall, there's a message
- 30:37Speaker 2: that I'm trying to make clear.
- 30:39Speaker 3: For all of the viewers.
- 30:41Speaker 2: And this is one of those episodes, like ever since
- 30:44Speaker 2: the last episode, I'm like, all right, what are we
- 30:46Speaker 2: trying to.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true, that's true. They all have some underlying message.
- 30:49Speaker 1: It was, but I think you've been good. You've been
- 30:52Speaker 1: good at teasing out what it is, even more than
- 30:54Speaker 1: more than the voiceovers do. This is the episode that
- 30:57Speaker 1: Neil Flynn is not in. I forgot. We we figured
- 31:00Speaker 1: out what the reason was. Do you remember what it was?
- 31:03Speaker 3: So they didn't have to pay him?
- 31:06Speaker 1: But why there was it? Some they're not trying to
- 31:08Speaker 1: save just Neil's salary.
- 31:11Speaker 3: He's not a regular at this point.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Oh I think if he had done X amount of episodes,
- 31:16Speaker 1: they would have had to bump him up to a
- 31:18Speaker 1: higher salary.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Right, he didn't become an official regular, I guess until
- 31:22Speaker 2: season three.
- 31:24Speaker 1: That can't be true because they put him in the
- 31:26Speaker 1: in the in the rejected new title sequence.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I don't know, dude, and it was credit on this episode.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, But didn't Neil say wait, didn't Neil
- 31:34Speaker 1: say something, you guys when he was on that there
- 31:36Speaker 1: was a quick scooter joke that he he wrote in
- 31:40Speaker 1: and he and he wiped out and then and I
- 31:43Speaker 1: was an electric scooter, and then they ended up cutting
- 31:45Speaker 1: that out. That's why he's credited, but he's not in
- 31:47Speaker 1: the episode because it was just one quick pop but
- 31:49Speaker 1: they edited it out.
- 31:50Speaker 8: That makes sense.
- 31:51Speaker 5: I'm trying to remember, we've done so many of these,
- 31:53Speaker 5: trying to recall all.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Of Oh, by the way, speaking of of of trivia,
- 32:01Speaker 1: I went on Scrubs Wiki today as I normally do
- 32:03Speaker 1: before the episode, and I scrolled down to trivia, which
- 32:09Speaker 1: is the section I enjoy the most, and the top
- 32:12Speaker 1: the top bullet point is loving the podcast, Zach exclamation point,
- 32:17Speaker 1: all the love in the world to you and Donald
- 32:19Speaker 1: happy to keep answering trivia and hell no, I'd never
- 32:23Speaker 1: sell those funko pops. So there you go. I think
- 32:30Speaker 1: we have a clear answer from from Trevor wikie that
- 32:33Speaker 1: he's down.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Okay, Trevor, but.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I think you know he wasn't. He wasn't hiding messages
- 32:37Speaker 1: in the Scrubs Wiki until now, So I think it's
- 32:39Speaker 1: all this talk of the signed Funko pops. That's really
- 32:42Speaker 1: made him tickled.
- 32:43Speaker 3: I'm just gonna keep it one hundred. We had to
- 32:45Speaker 3: bribe him to get him.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Well, we don't know that, Donald, We don't know that.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You don't have to keep it one hundred. You could
- 32:50Speaker 1: keep it a dollar fifty.
- 32:53Speaker 3: That's more than one hundred.
- 32:55Speaker 1: No, one hundred dollars is keep it one hundred is
- 32:57Speaker 1: one hundred dollars. I said you could keep it a
- 32:58Speaker 1: dollar fifty.
- 32:59Speaker 3: One hundred pennies is a dollar keep it one hundred.
- 33:03Speaker 1: But I thought when people were saying one hundred, they
- 33:05Speaker 1: meant one hundred dollars, not one hundred nineties.
- 33:06Speaker 3: It's not keep it one hundred dollars, it's keep it
- 33:08Speaker 3: one hundred percent with me.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Oh, keep it on a hundred percent with you. Dog
- 33:11Speaker 1: got it okay, So I'm gonna keep it one hundred
- 33:20Speaker 1: with you. Trevor wiki is down af to participate.
- 33:25Speaker 3: As long as he gets the funkos.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Yeah, well the funkos have been signed. Dan is gonna
- 33:30Speaker 1: take You're gonna send it whatever you got, No, no, no, no,
- 33:34Speaker 1: just you. Where does Trevor Wickie live. I don't know.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I mean, what state do we know?
- 33:39Speaker 3: A double check.
- 33:39Speaker 5: You's gona send me his address, lady.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Okay, Well, Trevor Wiki, you've got some signed Funko pops
- 33:44Speaker 1: headed towards is the first one I've ever signed. I
- 33:46Speaker 1: didn't know whether to sign on the box or on
- 33:48Speaker 1: the actual figurine? Donald, did you sign the box or
- 33:50Speaker 1: the figure?
- 33:51Speaker 3: I signed the box. I didn't sign the figurine.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Okay, I signed the box too.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, you know you just made Trevor Wiki
- 33:57Speaker 3: a lot of money. He could no.
- 33:59Speaker 1: But he just promised in the secret message on the
- 34:02Speaker 1: Scrubs Wiki that he wasn't gonna sell them. I believe Scrubb.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I believe Trevor Wiki is a man of his word. Zack,
- 34:09Speaker 1: you don't believe Trevor Wicki's a man of his word.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Trevor wicked. I need you to hide me and the
- 34:13Speaker 1: next week's episode it needs you to hide me. Another
- 34:15Speaker 1: message in scrubs Wiki that you that you pinky swear
- 34:18Speaker 1: that you won't sell them.
- 34:19Speaker 3: You're saying that you how much could they be worth?
- 34:21Speaker 1: Really?
- 34:22Speaker 3: Come on, you've never signed one, so that's one in one.
- 34:27Speaker 3: There's only one of the.
- 34:28Speaker 1: One of one. Yeah, and I won't be signing anymore
- 34:30Speaker 1: because in COVID, who the hell is going to come
- 34:32Speaker 1: up to me and ask me to sign them? So
- 34:33Speaker 1: it's he's got an exclusive.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Do you know what that means?
- 34:37Speaker 1: That it's worth what fifty bucks?
- 34:39Speaker 3: It's priceless.
- 34:41Speaker 1: He's not gonna sell it. The man loves Scrubs and
- 34:44Speaker 1: he's got the only signed JD Scrubs Funko Pop. Come on,
- 34:47Speaker 1: that's a treasure.
- 34:47Speaker 3: And if you don't sign it and you die, it's price.
- 34:51Speaker 1: By the way, Trevor, Wikie makes sure that you. Oh,
- 34:53Speaker 1: if I die, then it's worth some money. If I die.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Worth it's like a boss.
- 35:00Speaker 1: No, that's like twenty million dollars. I think it might
- 35:02Speaker 1: even if I die, the only signed JD's Crubs Bob
- 35:06Speaker 1: could be worth like a thousand bucks.
- 35:09Speaker 2: And everybody knows Trevor has it too. Trevor, are you
- 35:12Speaker 2: good with the martial arts?
- 35:14Speaker 1: Well, we're not gonna say where the guy lives. We're
- 35:16Speaker 1: not gonna eat people, aren't gonna be coming into his house.
- 35:18Speaker 2: For seventeen twenty six ridgro Way, No, I don't know, dude.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Let's take a break.
- 35:25Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Yo, John Michelle and the begetting of the show. Dude.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yes, So the first face you see, the angry neighbor
- 35:40Speaker 1: is John Michelle. He is one of our editors. He
- 35:43Speaker 1: won the uh he won the Ammy for editing scrubs?
- 35:47Speaker 3: Is he the only person to ever win an Emmy
- 35:48Speaker 3: four scrubs?
- 35:49Speaker 1: Good question? Did casting win?
- 35:52Speaker 3: It's a good question. Let's find out we were? We were?
- 35:54Speaker 3: We were?
- 35:54Speaker 1: We were nominated a bunch, but we always lost to
- 35:57Speaker 1: other other more popular shows. Do you want to as
- 36:00Speaker 1: a bride's always a bridesmaid, never a bride?
- 36:03Speaker 3: Do you want to ask Bill this one? This is
- 36:05Speaker 3: something he might enjoy?
- 36:06Speaker 1: Or should we ask Trevor WICKI?
- 36:08Speaker 3: No, Trevor Wikie isn't This is something.
- 36:10Speaker 1: He just said that he wants to participate.
- 36:13Speaker 3: You let's ask him like some like real trivia stuff.
- 36:16Speaker 3: This is something that.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Bill would like to talk about. You know that calads
- 36:19Speaker 2: for creating such a wonderful show.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I remember one year we got like nominated for like
- 36:24Speaker 1: a bunch of categories, but not the I don't know.
- 36:27Speaker 1: We never want anything, I don't think.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Well, yes, dude, I remember the one time we were.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Babean and beat me one one year and then Tony
- 36:34Speaker 1: Shalou beat me like every year.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Every year. I remember when chalub you want every he
- 36:40Speaker 3: beat everybody.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I've never seen an episode of Monk. I'm sure it's
- 36:43Speaker 1: a wonderful show. But have you ever seen episode of Monk?
- 36:45Speaker 3: I've never watched a Monk in my life.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I've never seen episode a Monk. Okay, well, there you go.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Joel's the one who loves Monk. I think seniors love
- 36:53Speaker 1: Monk and Joel and seniors and Joel.
- 36:57Speaker 2: It's like Matt Locke Danield.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Have you ever seen an episode of Monk? Yeah, yeah,
- 37:04Speaker 1: I've seen a few episodes. It must be great. I mean,
- 37:06Speaker 1: the man's a wonderful actor.
- 37:07Speaker 3: And yeah, but he just he's one of the best.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Man Come on, No, I'm not. You know who my
- 37:11Speaker 3: favorite is.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Though, Like listen, you know I love Leo. You know
- 37:16Speaker 2: I loved Denzel Stanley Tucci oh my.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah, he's great.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I love me so much so that Zach was doing
- 37:26Speaker 2: a play in New York City and he was doing
- 37:28Speaker 2: it with uh, who is it.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Sutton Foster plot?
- 37:33Speaker 5: Oh?
- 37:33Speaker 1: No, which one it was? Well, you're talking about to
- 37:34Speaker 1: play I did with Sutton Foster, Bobby Knave OLLI and
- 37:36Speaker 1: are a greener. Yes, that was called trust.
- 37:40Speaker 2: And at the time, you guys were, you know, would
- 37:44Speaker 2: go to that little diner or bar or whatever.
- 37:47Speaker 1: It is called a diner. My girlfriend calls it a
- 37:49Speaker 1: diner too. It's not a diner, it's a speakeasy.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Okay, well it looks like a diner. I'm gonna just
- 37:54Speaker 3: keep it one hundred.
- 37:54Speaker 1: And because she called it, I didn't know. She called
- 37:57Speaker 1: it a speakeasy diner, and I was like, why do
- 37:59Speaker 1: you call diner? It's a speakeasy.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Anyway, So we're there and Tucci and Shaloub were doing
- 38:07Speaker 2: a play together with Justin National Treasure.
- 38:11Speaker 3: What's his name, Bartha Bartha. Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I love that you call them Justin National Treasure, Justin.
- 38:18Speaker 3: B because I couldn't think of Bartha, who later.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Went to star in my first play, All New People,
- 38:23Speaker 1: which we performed off Broadway.
- 38:25Speaker 2: In going anyway, my point is I made an ass
- 38:30Speaker 2: of myself that night. To Tony Shaloub, I met I meet,
- 38:33Speaker 2: I meet, not Tony Shaloub.
- 38:34Speaker 3: To Stanley Tucci.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I have good celebrity encounters. They're always in bound.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Because when I meet people who I have gett nervous
- 38:41Speaker 2: I get. So it's not that I get nervous, and if.
- 38:43Speaker 1: You were speakeasy, you probably had a.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Few, absolutely, But I get like I get when I
- 38:48Speaker 2: see people who I appreciate and whose work moves me,
- 38:52Speaker 2: I want them to know that that happened for some reason,
- 38:56Speaker 2: and I cannot keep it to myself. And I know
- 38:59Speaker 2: how I I react to people when they are that
- 39:02Speaker 2: way towards me, and how I'm like it, you are
- 39:04Speaker 2: just a little too extra right now.
- 39:07Speaker 3: That's me. I can't help it.
- 39:09Speaker 2: And I damn near hit on the dude, Like I'm
- 39:13Speaker 2: sure he was like, this guy wants to freaking make
- 39:17Speaker 2: out with me right now. Like I was like, I
- 39:20Speaker 2: love you so much. Everything you do is been the best.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I can't get over it you have. Like I was, like,
- 39:29Speaker 2: your range is ridiculous. I've seen you play gangster. I've
- 39:32Speaker 2: seen you play every you know, every every spectrum of
- 39:36Speaker 2: you know, whatever it is that is human out there,
- 39:40Speaker 2: I've seen you. Like I was like over over myself,
- 39:44Speaker 2: over him, and oh my god, I could see in
- 39:48Speaker 2: his face he was like, oh God, please get this
- 39:50Speaker 2: guy away from me.
- 39:51Speaker 3: And then somebody hinted him.
- 39:52Speaker 1: By the way, the reason people go to this place
- 39:54Speaker 1: is so they don't get bothered by people like you.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt, go ahead.
- 39:58Speaker 2: And then I think some he spilled to him, like, yo,
- 40:01Speaker 2: that's Donald Faizon, he was on scrubs, he was in clueless,
- 40:05Speaker 2: he's he's he's an actor, he's done some work, he's successful.
- 40:09Speaker 2: And so he comes over to me and tries to
- 40:11Speaker 2: make amends because at first he was like, yo, dude,
- 40:14Speaker 2: back the fuck up.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Oh he thought he was dismissive of you, very dismissive.
- 40:18Speaker 1: He would say, good look for Stanley Tucci. Then you're
- 40:20Speaker 1: saying he was dismissive of you until you knew you
- 40:22Speaker 1: were famous.
- 40:23Speaker 2: So we're at a bar drunk and some stranger comes
- 40:26Speaker 2: up to you and does that, I don't care who
- 40:27Speaker 2: you are, you're going to be like, dude, I'm not
- 40:30Speaker 2: trying to say.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Well, we also don't know what you were like, I mean,
- 40:32Speaker 1: you might be you might have been like I'm.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Right, and I'm just saying you saw me with Tom Cavanaugh.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Amplify that with alcohol, right, it's another story, like I'm
- 40:46Speaker 2: probably spinning on the man. My breath was well, it
- 40:51Speaker 2: might not have been bad, but it was definitely hot
- 40:53Speaker 2: and in his face, you know what I mean.
- 40:55Speaker 1: So he probably needed a napkin after you spoke to
- 40:57Speaker 1: him just right.
- 40:59Speaker 2: If Corona, if Corona was back, then he would probably attack.
- 41:03Speaker 2: It would be like one of those Karen moments where
- 41:06Speaker 2: you know, you attack.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Oh my god, crazy.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Did you see the Karen and the pizzeria getting Oh
- 41:10Speaker 1: my god, there's so many Karens.
- 41:12Speaker 2: There's a lot of Karens now, there are a lot
- 41:14Speaker 2: of there are so many Karens that there's so many
- 41:16Speaker 2: Karens that people named Karen are like, please stop with
- 41:19Speaker 2: the turning our name into a derogatory statement.
- 41:21Speaker 1: You know what's funny. I watched the Karen video of
- 41:23Speaker 1: this crazy woman out, you know, and they're always about
- 41:25Speaker 1: I have a right, the Constitution says I don't have
- 41:28Speaker 1: to wear a mask. They're always just fucking batshit. And
- 41:30Speaker 1: the one I watched is in the pizzeria and this
- 41:32Speaker 1: guy started calling her like he was screaming it don't
- 41:35Speaker 1: come anywhere near me, Karen, Like people are starting to
- 41:37Speaker 1: use Karen in the videos. He was like, you back up, Karen,
- 41:42Speaker 1: all right? Should we get into the show now, we're
- 41:44Speaker 1: barely talking about the show. You're reading in the opening
- 41:47Speaker 1: scene a skin Diver magazine. Now, I don't know why
- 41:50Speaker 1: you're reading skin Diver magazine, do you.
- 41:53Speaker 3: I think, you know, he's looking at a little bit
- 41:56Speaker 3: of you know, it's like Maxim.
- 42:00Speaker 1: It's not Maxim. It's like a magazine for people that
- 42:02Speaker 1: go like free diving. I think it was just a
- 42:07Speaker 1: prop on the on the on the on the coffee table,
- 42:10Speaker 1: and you probably picked it up and decided your character
- 42:12Speaker 1: was reading a magazine.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Skin Diver.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Didn't sound like that to me for some reason, some reason,
- 42:17Speaker 2: when you said skin Diver just now sounded like Turk
- 42:20Speaker 2: was looking at you know, oh.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Like a playboy Maxim kind of thing. No, it wasn't that.
- 42:25Speaker 1: If you look at the cover, it's like it looks
- 42:26Speaker 1: like a diving thing.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Okay, props or props.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I think, you know, we're not allowed to just hold
- 42:35Speaker 1: up any real magazines, so there's also like bullshit magazines
- 42:38Speaker 1: lying around, And I imagine you were like, maybe Turk's
- 42:41Speaker 1: reading a magazine. Yeah, maybe I don't read any magazines anymore.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I don't when's the last time you read a magazine
- 42:49Speaker 2: I read?
- 42:52Speaker 1: I subscribed to Architectural Digest because I love architecture and design.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I subscribe to uh American Cinematographer because I love cinematography
- 43:03Speaker 1: and geek out on camera toys.
- 43:07Speaker 3: But you can get all of these online.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I know, But I like a physical thing to hold still.
- 43:12Speaker 1: And then what do you do after I get this?
- 43:13Speaker 1: I get the Sunday New York Times and read that
- 43:15Speaker 1: on Sundays.
- 43:16Speaker 2: And what do you do after when you what do
- 43:18Speaker 2: you do with it after you're done reading it? What
- 43:22Speaker 2: do you do after you're done reading it?
- 43:23Speaker 1: I throw them out? I mean I recycle them like
- 43:25Speaker 1: a good citizen. I like a physical magazine. I used
- 43:29Speaker 1: to buy them in the airport when I was flying.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I don't really do that anymore.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Your phone, you used to read.
- 43:37Speaker 1: What did you say the the What was this magazine
- 43:40Speaker 1: that you said was Black Maxim?
- 43:42Speaker 3: King?
- 43:42Speaker 1: I used to read King. You used to love King.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I still love King.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Your co star Stacy Dash. Wasn't she on the cover
- 43:55Speaker 1: of King?
- 43:56Speaker 3: She was on the cover of King. I remember it
- 43:58Speaker 3: was very people on that issue.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was a very uh naughty photograph
- 44:03Speaker 1: if I recall.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Listen, you know when Stacy Dash does anything that is
- 44:07Speaker 2: uh naughty, people pay attention.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Yeah, she's she's she she she's a unique gal. That's
- 44:14Speaker 1: Stacy Dash. We have a picture where we ran into her, right,
- 44:19Speaker 1: she was wearing a cowboy hat.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, no, yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 3: That's the cowboy hat.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yes, all right, let's let's go off Stacy Dash and
- 44:30Speaker 1: talk about David Copperfield. I remember when he dies.
- 44:34Speaker 3: That was pretty cool.
- 44:35Speaker 1: That was very cool.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and John Ritter also back on this.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I didn't even know I would have gotten it wrong
- 44:41Speaker 1: that John Ridder did another cameo. This one was was
- 44:44Speaker 1: a quick little fantasy pop that I that I learned
- 44:48Speaker 1: from Scrubs Wiki was done on the set of his
- 44:50Speaker 1: show Eight Simple Rules. So I imagine they just went to
- 44:53Speaker 1: his sitcom set and shot that quick little pop. But
- 44:56Speaker 1: I had no idea I would have totally gotten the
- 44:58Speaker 1: tribuna wrong that the John ended up being in more
- 45:01Speaker 1: than one episode.
- 45:02Speaker 2: I love the fact that that JD's dad never bought
- 45:05Speaker 2: him a whole bike.
- 45:06Speaker 3: He just bought them parts of the bike and.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Haus he never had any money.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Right, and eventually, you know, JD would have the full
- 45:12Speaker 2: bike and he was like, maybe later we could take
- 45:14Speaker 2: the bike bicycle bell around the block for it's beIN.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and then I come back and I go I
- 45:19Speaker 1: never did get that kickstand. But I want to have
- 45:22Speaker 1: about Cofield because I remember Copperfield rolled up in like
- 45:24Speaker 1: a tour bus, and I thought that was so baller that, like,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you know, the guy. I don't know why.
- 45:31Speaker 3: He maybe he doesn't fly.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I assume he's based in Vegas, as a lot of
- 45:36Speaker 1: famous magicians are, and maybe he doesn't fly, or maybe
- 45:38Speaker 1: he did his show and said, let's hop on the
- 45:41Speaker 1: tour bus and I'll go to sleep and take me
- 45:43Speaker 1: to take me to Hollywood to do my cameo. But
- 45:46Speaker 1: I just remember that I thought it was cool at
- 45:48Speaker 1: the time that Copperfield rolled up in a big, old
- 45:50Speaker 1: baller tour bus.
- 45:51Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 45:52Speaker 2: You risk so much, especially if you got to be
- 45:55Speaker 2: back in Vegas in a certain amount of time, you
- 45:58Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 45:58Speaker 1: It's pretty cool, man, if you had that, if you
- 46:00Speaker 1: had the kind of money I imagine he has, and
- 46:02Speaker 1: you're and you got to do your show, and you're like, oh,
- 46:04Speaker 1: we got to go to do that cameo on Scrubs.
- 46:06Speaker 1: All right, Jammy stick the bus. I'm gonna go to sleep.
- 46:10Speaker 1: We'll wake up there.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Sure, it's pretty baller. That's gonna be like you and
- 46:15Speaker 1: I and Daniel and Joel when we're doing our our
- 46:18Speaker 1: our tour.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Of fake our European tour.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Yeah, well, a European tour, I think is more more
- 46:23Speaker 1: realistically gonna happen before the North American tour, because you know,
- 46:29Speaker 1: on account of the where fuckedness.
- 46:31Speaker 2: But dude, holy cow, JD gets it right. JD gets
- 46:35Speaker 2: it right in this episode. Yeah, in the beginning of
- 46:38Speaker 2: the episode, JD.
- 46:41Speaker 1: It's a big swing and gets.
- 46:43Speaker 3: It right and gets lucky.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Necritizing fasci itis.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Have you ever done that before?
- 46:49Speaker 2: Have you ever taken Have you ever been like, all right, look,
- 46:52Speaker 2: I have no idea what I'm gonna do. I'm just
- 46:54Speaker 2: gonna go for broke. See what happens. Like Have you
- 46:57Speaker 2: ever swung for the fences with no clue?
- 47:00Speaker 1: The ball defences all the time, but with.
- 47:02Speaker 3: No clue, with no preparation.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Well, he had an inkling, He had an inkling. He
- 47:07Speaker 1: had a gut reaction because he had seen this on
- 47:09Speaker 1: a TV show about necharizing necrotizing fasciitis. And doctor Cox says,
- 47:13Speaker 1: that's fucking the rarest thing that never happens. Shut up,
- 47:16Speaker 1: and he happens to be right, and so he had
- 47:19Speaker 1: an inkling of a clue. I feel like in life
- 47:22Speaker 1: there's times that I've taken some big swings and they
- 47:25Speaker 1: and they've worked out. I think that's what Jad's doing.
- 47:27Speaker 1: He's taken a big ass swing. What if it's necartizing
- 47:29Speaker 1: fasciitis and he guessed.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Right, that's ballsy man.
- 47:35Speaker 2: It's a it's an amazing Uh, it's a you know,
- 47:39Speaker 2: I you know, it's a it's not even a gut feeling.
- 47:42Speaker 2: It's just Tim saying it could be this, and I
- 47:46Speaker 2: if I'm right because of the similarities.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Holy shit.
- 47:50Speaker 1: And he just happened to be watching that TV show.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I mean, think about it. He saved the guy's life
- 47:54Speaker 1: because he just happened to be watching that show.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Yeah, amazing, and it's take.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Gordon has a line finally in the set two line
- 48:04Speaker 1: to line his pokah shells are intact?
- 48:08Speaker 3: Are they on his neck?
- 48:09Speaker 1: Yeah? It's a choker like Joelle Joelle. You know, like
- 48:12Speaker 1: Joelle said, chokers are fire. He's got like a choker
- 48:15Speaker 1: pukash shell choker, which I didn't even know was a thing.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Do you want to do you want to ask him
- 48:20Speaker 3: about it. I'm sure we can get yes.
- 48:21Speaker 1: When we asked Deontay, that's a nice new segment.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Here's here's a here's a new segment we're going to
- 48:26Speaker 3: try out today. Guys.
- 48:27Speaker 2: It's ask Deontay Gordon, Dude, what the heck was up
- 48:32Speaker 2: with the puka shells?
- 48:33Speaker 3: Were they in style back then? And if so, why
- 48:36Speaker 3: did you opt for the choker?
- 48:37Speaker 2: Why not the like the the the twenty four inch
- 48:42Speaker 2: pooka shell necklace?
- 48:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Deontay, we'd like to know. We don't believe in
- 48:48Speaker 1: two thousand and two that puckas shells were in style.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Maybe we're wrong. And why were you wearing them as
- 48:54Speaker 1: a choker?
- 48:54Speaker 11: Were pokah shells in fashion? You know, in my heart
- 48:58Speaker 11: I want to say yes, but I'm pretty sure two
- 49:01Speaker 11: thousand and two would be like, no, dude.
- 49:05Speaker 1: It's not, it's not. Yeah, it was a choker.
- 49:09Speaker 11: It a little tight, little tight on the neck, can't lie.
- 49:11Speaker 11: But it was because I got it as a kid
- 49:13Speaker 11: in Hawaii and I had found it in an old
- 49:17Speaker 11: drawer years later, and I put it on one day
- 49:21Speaker 11: and the class got stuck and I had to go
- 49:24Speaker 11: to set, and I decided, you know what, I'm just
- 49:28Speaker 11: gonna rock it because I couldn't think of anything friendlier
- 49:31Speaker 11: than a guy wearing a pukashell necklace. And Scrubs was
- 49:35Speaker 11: coming a big show, so you know, we want to
- 49:37Speaker 11: stand out a little bit. And you know what's friendlier
- 49:40Speaker 11: than the guy had a pukashell necklace. I couldn't think
- 49:42Speaker 11: of anything nothing friendlier. All right, guys, I love you
- 49:46Speaker 11: even when you're clowning.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Thank you Deonta, Thank you Deontay. That's our new segment,
- 49:50Speaker 1: asked Deontae who to refresh your memory? Was Donald's stand
- 49:54Speaker 1: in and also our friend and cohort on the scrub
- 49:57Speaker 1: set and on this episode has two lines as and
- 50:01Speaker 1: he has a name, we learned Frank Mark. No, I
- 50:04Speaker 1: think it's Mark, and that's why he's pissed at me.
- 50:06Speaker 1: His name is.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Frank got it hey, And that would never knew.
- 50:10Speaker 1: That Deontay, the Orderly's character had a name Frank.
- 50:13Speaker 2: I think this would probably be the last time Deontay's
- 50:16Speaker 2: on the show.
- 50:17Speaker 1: No, that's not true.
- 50:18Speaker 3: You think we'll have him back again on the podcast?
- 50:22Speaker 3: As as Frank Oh.
- 50:24Speaker 1: On Scrubs, I'm sure, I'm sure of it. Alan Ruck
- 50:37Speaker 1: is on the.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Show most of You might remember him from Ferris Bueller's
- 50:41Speaker 3: Day Off.
- 50:42Speaker 12: Yes, when Cameron was in Egypt's land, Let my camer
- 50:50Speaker 12: goal says these things.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Let my Cameron go.
- 50:54Speaker 2: I know that Cameron's so uptight that if you shoved
- 50:56Speaker 2: a piece of coal up his ass in a month,
- 50:59Speaker 2: you'd have a diamond.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Is it a month or two weeks?
- 51:01Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't remember. It's one something like that.
- 51:04Speaker 1: In two weeks you have a diamond. That's a very
- 51:06Speaker 1: woody joke. He's a very funny man. He was on
- 51:09Speaker 1: Spin City, and this continues the Bill Lawrence tradition of
- 51:13Speaker 1: asking cast members from his old show Spin City to
- 51:18Speaker 1: come to cameos. We had, Heather, we had. We eventually
- 51:22Speaker 1: have them all, most of them, I believe.
- 51:25Speaker 4: H Richard Kind, I have Yaba, I have Yeah, Yes,
- 51:31Speaker 4: i'd been to the zoo.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Go on. Yes, he said, like, this is only you
- 51:36Speaker 1: would only get this disease if you had spent time
- 51:38Speaker 1: in some rare part of Africa amongst amongst these animals.
- 51:42Speaker 3: I have been to the zoo.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Go on, I have been to the zoo. Go on.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Richard Kind is very good golfer. I'll bet you didn't
- 51:52Speaker 1: know this trivia George Clooney's best friend.
- 51:55Speaker 3: I didn't. I wonder if he got some of that
- 51:57Speaker 3: money for that.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Uh I think he did. Oh no, No. But the
- 52:00Speaker 1: the you know, the famous anecdote where George Clooney gave
- 52:03Speaker 1: all his friends a million bucks.
- 52:05Speaker 3: That wasn't after the tequila I think.
- 52:08Speaker 1: I think I think it was after he accidentally stumbled
- 52:10Speaker 1: into a billion dollar tequila business. It was before. You
- 52:14Speaker 1: imagine you're sitting around with your friends and you're like, basically,
- 52:17Speaker 1: as I understand the Costa Migos story is that George
- 52:20Speaker 1: and Randy Gerber and a bunch of I think it
- 52:22Speaker 1: was just George and Randy Gerber. They love tequila, and
- 52:24Speaker 1: they were like, you know what we have the means like,
- 52:27Speaker 1: no one's making the tequila exactly like we like it,
- 52:29Speaker 1: so let's just make it ourselves. So they did the
- 52:31Speaker 1: research and they contacted the right people, and they made
- 52:34Speaker 1: this tequila that was supposed to be just for like
- 52:35Speaker 1: them and their friends. It's like super bespoke tequila just
- 52:38Speaker 1: with them, and then all of a sudden it catches
- 52:40Speaker 1: on and becomes so big that they make a billion
- 52:43Speaker 1: dollars off Costa migos. That's that's one of George Clooney
- 52:46Speaker 1: accidentally made a billion dollars.
- 52:48Speaker 3: It's my favorite story ever in the history of you
- 52:51Speaker 3: and I.
- 52:52Speaker 1: You know, a lot of famous duos release their own
- 52:56Speaker 1: line of booze. Brian Cranston and and and Aaron Paul
- 53:01Speaker 1: put out one.
- 53:02Speaker 3: What is it?
- 53:03Speaker 1: I don't know?
- 53:04Speaker 3: Okay, what is it?
- 53:05Speaker 1: Joelle jin or something? I don't know, But why don't
- 53:08Speaker 1: you and I release our own booze? Maybe we could
- 53:12Speaker 1: make some of that Clooney billion dollars.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Dude, what if we put out booze? Yeah, that would
- 53:20Speaker 3: make me one of the happiest people on the planet.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Well, let's do it. What kind of booze should we
- 53:24Speaker 1: put out? You can't do something obvious that's been crushed already,
- 53:28Speaker 1: like vodka and tequila.
- 53:29Speaker 3: We can't go near that, I know, because everybody got
- 53:31Speaker 3: a vodka.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Everybody's got a vodka, and we're not going to try
- 53:34Speaker 1: and compete with Imagine.
- 53:35Speaker 3: We're like, yo, it's up there with Sarraq.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Ohk is killing it too. That's like, I think Puffy's
- 53:41Speaker 1: made more money off Sarak than anything.
- 53:44Speaker 3: I don't. I don't know that he I don't know
- 53:46Speaker 3: how much of Saraki owns.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Oh I thought I thought Sorak was his.
- 53:52Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't know it.
- 53:53Speaker 1: All right, Well, listen, you guys are hearing it first here.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Donald and I are going to develop our own booze.
- 54:00Speaker 5: You don't mind because because Aaron Paul and Bran Hanson
- 54:03Speaker 5: they did a mescal called those Ombres.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Those Sombres mesical. Okay, we're gonna Donald, We're gonna do research.
- 54:09Speaker 1: What kind of booze don't have to be something we
- 54:11Speaker 1: both like?
- 54:12Speaker 3: Well, what do you like?
- 54:15Speaker 1: I like to kill it? Like vodka? Do you like
- 54:18Speaker 1: a Moscow mule? Do you like Moscow mules?
- 54:20Speaker 3: But that's not a liquor that's I know.
- 54:22Speaker 1: But what if we did like a canned, pre made,
- 54:26Speaker 1: badass moscow mule called a day of Shoe.
- 54:30Speaker 3: I like the name.
- 54:35Speaker 1: And me not the jingle. Ready to go, But you're
- 54:37Speaker 1: trying to.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Get in into what? Yes, what you're trying to get
- 54:43Speaker 3: into shoon?
- 54:46Speaker 1: Yeah? And then the commercial it's you taking a big sip.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Of it.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Ado shoon something that's the name of the booze to
- 54:56Speaker 2: get into.
- 54:58Speaker 3: And then the person goes.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Oh, that's the commercial. No, it's you and I walking
- 55:04Speaker 1: up to people and they're drinking it what you're trying
- 55:06Speaker 1: to get into, and they go, oh my god, I
- 55:11Speaker 1: love it. The problem is, if we spelled it correctly, people.
- 55:14Speaker 2: They might also pronounce it other people with my name
- 55:17Speaker 2: would be like, it's named after me.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Have you never run into another idea shoe?
- 55:20Speaker 3: So's it's a Nigerian name? I know.
- 55:22Speaker 1: So is it popular in Nigeria?
- 55:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure there are people. I think it's a
- 55:29Speaker 2: last name. Though I'm not only going.
- 55:31Speaker 1: To be confusing when it's when it's so popular that
- 55:33Speaker 1: it's eventually sold in Nigeria. But let's start small.
- 55:36Speaker 2: What you're trying to get into.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Don't forget to pull a little ruckus on it. If
- 55:46Speaker 1: you're singing this at home and you don't pull a
- 55:48Speaker 1: little spice on it, you're doing it wrong.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Throw some strusy on it as they're trying to get
- 55:54Speaker 2: into the shoe.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Put a little nasty on it. Sprinkle some nasty on it.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Yo.
- 56:02Speaker 2: The fact that these guys put rowdy in front of
- 56:04Speaker 2: this dude's house fourteen times.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Yeah, what a dick? What dick's We are not even
- 56:09Speaker 1: a kind of nighbor you hate that. By the way,
- 56:11Speaker 1: John Michelle his acting was okay, but when he eventually
- 56:16Speaker 1: had to laugh, he was a little stiff.
- 56:20Speaker 3: You know.
- 56:20Speaker 2: John Michelle not only edited the show, he also directed
- 56:24Speaker 2: the show.
- 56:25Speaker 1: This not this episode, No, eventually he directed, but.
- 56:27Speaker 3: He would eventually direct.
- 56:29Speaker 2: And I remember I remember as an editor, I guess
- 56:33Speaker 2: you want every I guess you want everything you could
- 56:36Speaker 2: possibly get to put it together, because not only would
- 56:39Speaker 2: he direct the episodes, but he would edit them.
- 56:41Speaker 3: And I remember we would.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Do a bunch of takes for him because he was like,
- 56:47Speaker 2: I just wanted if I could have it this way, great,
- 56:50Speaker 2: if I could have it this way, it's just more
- 56:52Speaker 2: things for me to look at.
- 56:53Speaker 1: As classic editor turned director. And I think it was
- 56:56Speaker 1: his first shot at directing. So yeah, if you're gonna
- 57:00Speaker 1: if you were to build a stereotypical problem that an
- 57:03Speaker 1: editor turning director might have in the beginning of their career,
- 57:06Speaker 1: it would be I need every single angle, I need
- 57:08Speaker 1: every single take I need. But then you know I'm
- 57:11Speaker 1: sure that.
- 57:12Speaker 2: But his episode always they always turned out great. Though
- 57:15Speaker 2: he always had good episodes.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Well we were there, it'll four in the morning, getting
- 57:18Speaker 1: every angle. So why is it the pathologists in TV
- 57:22Speaker 1: shows are always eating I don't know. Pologists are the
- 57:27Speaker 1: guys who do the autopsies. Why are they always eating
- 57:29Speaker 1: a sandwich? It's a thing, It's a it's a trope.
- 57:31Speaker 3: I think.
- 57:32Speaker 2: I think it's because they they're around death so much
- 57:35Speaker 2: that even the smell of it can't interrupt their day.
- 57:39Speaker 2: So like, if it's lunch time, I could eat lunch
- 57:43Speaker 2: around a dead body because I'm around it all the time.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Right. The point is is that the writer is trying
- 57:50Speaker 1: to show how how used to death and corpses this
- 57:54Speaker 1: person is. They're so used to it and so so
- 57:58Speaker 1: they so don't care about it that they'll eat their
- 58:00Speaker 1: sandwich over the guy's head. But I'm just saying, it's
- 58:04Speaker 1: it's been done to death. Yeah. I love Fleabag.
- 58:06Speaker 5: There is a scene in there where they talk about this, right,
- 58:09Speaker 5: like they're going to see the pathologist and she's like,
- 58:12Speaker 5: I can't remember if it's the smell of chemicals or
- 58:14Speaker 5: something that makes them like crave meat.
- 58:17Speaker 3: There's like a whole.
- 58:18Speaker 5: Scene in Fleabag about this and I'm trying to let
- 58:21Speaker 5: me try to find the science on it, because it
- 58:22Speaker 5: was the craziest thing.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Okay, but that's interesting, But that's something else. What I'm
- 58:26Speaker 1: saying is that that the it's as common and ridiculous
- 58:31Speaker 1: in films and TV as like they remove the rear
- 58:34Speaker 1: view mirror in the car so you can have a
- 58:36Speaker 1: better angle and not have it break up the frame,
- 58:39Speaker 1: which is like just a convention that people get used to,
- 58:41Speaker 1: but it's stupid. Or that all the streets are always
- 58:46Speaker 1: wet at night because it makes the lights look pretty,
- 58:48Speaker 1: But the cars aren't wet, and the buildings aren't wet,
- 58:50Speaker 1: just the streets wet. And in line with that, a
- 58:53Speaker 1: pathologist doing an autopsy will usually have a bite of
- 58:57Speaker 1: some food.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Right, that's you know.
- 59:00Speaker 2: And speaking of speaking of go to jokes, I started
- 59:03Speaker 2: to realize a pattern.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Laverne always talking about Jesus.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Always talking about Jesus.
- 59:09Speaker 1: But it's funny every time.
- 59:10Speaker 2: It's funny every time, but it's always the same setup. Oh,
- 59:13Speaker 2: don't worry about what I think, but you're gonna have
- 59:16Speaker 2: to worry about what Jesus thinks.
- 59:18Speaker 1: I know, but it's her what you're talking about, willis.
- 59:19Speaker 1: It's funny, it is what You don't have to explain
- 59:21Speaker 1: yourself to me, but you better get your story straight,
- 59:24Speaker 1: when you come face. When you come face, she goes,
- 59:27Speaker 1: when you come face to face with Jesus. Yeah, that's
- 59:29Speaker 1: why I laughed out loud at that.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Absolutely, But it's a go to jokes. She's great,
- 59:34Speaker 3: she's great.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Has he that's her that's her thing. She talks about Jesus.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Ted's office he has a plow Mak's mug, which I liked,
- 59:41Speaker 1: just continuing the Plomok's runner.
- 59:44Speaker 2: I was very happy to see Sam Lloyd in this episode.
- 59:47Speaker 2: When he popped up, I got very excited about that.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I know all those scenes in Ted's office were always
- 59:53Speaker 1: so funny.
- 59:54Speaker 2: And the one, the one with him and Sarah where
- 59:56Speaker 2: he's like, oh my god, you're getting sued.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Have you confronted?
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Have you gone back and spoke to and she goes, well,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: and he goes, oh did you did you threaten him?
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: He goes.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Even and she goes, He goes, oh, man, even a
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: good lawyer couldn't win this case. Every scene in that office, uh,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: is so funny. I think we learned for the first
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: time that his last name is Buckland. I'm assuming that's
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: for one of our favorite directors at the time, Mark Buckland,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: and well where else would you get Buckland from It's
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: not a No, it's not Buckland is.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Not seems like a common name. No, Dan, what's your
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: last name?
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Do you want to ask Dan?
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: What's your last name?
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Good Man? Good Man? You know his last name.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: It's on the zoom call It's Goodman, It's Goodman.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Sounds I think it was going to be Do you
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: think it was going to be Buckland? It sounds like
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: would that Cox calls me murder, she wrote, which is
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: funny because I accidentally killed a patient. Right, Oh, I
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: it's hard When Kelso says to Sarah, he goes, you
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: had four years of college and four years of med school,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: so I can safely assume that you were at least eight.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: He was great in this Episodeken Jenkins always great.
- 1:01:24Speaker 12: Oh.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I noticed that you have really baggy cargo pants on.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Do you remember when that was the style? And we
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: both used to wear those a lot.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to tell you something. This is when
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: I started, you know, gaining weight on the show.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: So hiding your stomach.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: Well I'm not.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Necessarily hiding my stomach, but I'm hiding. Uh, you know,
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: the clothes started to change for me. So now I'm
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: no longer wearing the jeans that they had for me
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: because my waist had grown so much. I'm now wearing
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: baggy clothes. So this is one episode where they hadn't
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: gone shop at least that's what I think. They hadn't
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: gone shopping for me yesterday, because I remember Carrie asking
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: me about wearing the pants. She was like, you know,
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: will you wear these instead today or something like that,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: And it was because my ass was getting bigger.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Your ass are your belly.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: My booty?
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: So they they had to go shopping to get bigger
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: clothes for you, but they hadn't gone yet, so they said, here,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: how about these baggy sweatpants.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Yes, this is around the time where I heard Sarah
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: talking about a fan asking if I was on the
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Krispy Kream diet.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: It's funny to you, it's not to me.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It didn't really hurt your feelings.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it hurt my feelings.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Okay, it did it hurt your feelings enough that you
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: took action and changed your habits?
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Actually, the next season, if you notice, the next season
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: when we come back, I'm a lot skinnier in season three.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Now, are you gonna progressively get larger throughout this season.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I'll keep an eye out for I think your lisp
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: is on. By the way, I think the.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: It's gone in this episode we cut them off finally,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: you know what I believe. So I believe we're gonna
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: go through this season and I will get heavier. This
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: is also around the time where I am about to
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: get a divorce.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: From so maybe that was tied the late game, might
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: have been tied to the stress of your divorce.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: Perhaps maybe you know it's it's it's brewing at this point.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: At this point, I remember being like, oh man, you know, uh,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: this isn't going well. I think though, you know, you
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: can always meet you always can tell when you meet
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: somebody who's never been divorced or never you know what
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: I mean, because the first thing they say is, oh,
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. You meet somebody who's been divorced, they're
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: always gonna say. You'll be like, I'm so sorry, and
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: they'd be like, no, no, no, I got out of that.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: It's all good.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Don't trip well, not always, donal. I think that's that's
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: that's not true.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Very few times, there are very few times while going
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: through it.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Yes, while going through it.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: It's very sad because you're remembering all the things that
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: you used to do, and you're remembering, you know, and
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: and and and and you're moving forward. And whenever you're
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: moving forward and things aren't, you know, like they were
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: in the past, it's there's change. You know, it's a
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: little uncomfortable for you. But when you're out of it,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: just so happy to be out of.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: As a great line in Annie Hall where Woody Allen
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: says to Diane Keaton, you know, I think relationships are
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: like sharks. If you stop moving forward, you die. And
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I think what we have here is a dead shark.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: So you had a dead shark.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: It didn't work out. It didn't work out, but guess what.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: And if you're listening and going through a divorce now
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Donald ended up with the love of his life. The
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: man has never been happier, never been more in love,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: and talk about a blessing in disguise. It worked out.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Well, you know, it's when you're not looking for it
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: that it works out that way.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: You know, well, you were.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Looking for it. You hit on her in the club
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: and she said done. He had like nine keels.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: But I was just trying to beat I wasn't trying
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: to day.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: You're just trying to beat What does that mean? You
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: were trying to You were just trying to have intercourse?
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Do you remember right them? Do you remember the fact
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: that Joel's trying right now?
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: The fact? Well, because come on, man, you knew exactly
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: what the fuck I meant. It just was something. It
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: was I said it different, and you were like, wait this,
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: hold on.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: All right, we have a guest, right Joe. We never
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: took a break. I'm sorry. Daniel, You're gonna have to
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: put in fake breaks.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: He does it all the time.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Let's go to break, guys, Rob.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: I got a new intro. Rob, I'm no longer doing Oprah.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: I'm now doing I'm now doing Kermit the funk. Give
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: it up for Rob.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Hi'm Bob. Bye, it's nice to meet you. I'm Zach.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: That's Donald, that's Daniel, that's Joelle.
- 1:05:57Speaker 13: Hello, everyone, this is why, thank you.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: How are you welcome?
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Welcome?
- 1:06:02Speaker 13: I'm doing great, that buddy.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: We're great. Where are you calling from, Bob?
- 1:06:07Speaker 13: I am in northern Virginia outside, Yes.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: We see Williams. Remember the Titans Virginia.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: That's right, Yeah, circle back to of course. Well everyone
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: everyone who has Everyone who has a Bingo card was like,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: I can't believe Titans hasn't come up there. It is
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: from a Bingo card.
- 1:06:27Speaker 14: Well, I want to mention Garden State too. My wife
- 1:06:30Speaker 14: is from New Jersey. When we when we met, she
- 1:06:34Speaker 14: told me she was from Jersey and she said, do
- 1:06:36Speaker 14: not say Jersey Shore. I'm from near Garden State.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: That's what it looked like, right, Well, I agree with
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: your wife. A lot of you know, when the Jersey
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: short came out, a lot of US Jersey ins were like,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: first of all, none of those people are from New Jersey.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: They were from like Staten Island and other places. And
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: and of course there is a sections of the beach
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: in New Jersey where a lot of Jersey Shore type
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: folks hung gate, but that is only one section of
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: the beach. I just thought it was like the worst
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: uh press for Jersey. And so when I made Garden State,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I didn't do it with this intention in mind, but I,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: like your wife, I wanted to say to people like, hey,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Jersey's actually really beautiful. It's literally called the Garden State.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: So the other thing that happens is people fly in
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: a Newark airport. It's a very big international Airportyeah, that's
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: in our industrial area. So people fly in Newark and
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: they look at all the industry and they're like, oh,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: fucking Jerseys grows. Meanwhile, it's like every fucking state has
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: a big industrial area. How do you think it put
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: your airport there.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: When I was shooting emergency shot on the shore where
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: you know, all of those things happened, and we shot
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: in an off season in the winter, that town is
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: dead in the winter. It's not until summer that it
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: goes off.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really interesting actually when it's actually it's the
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I set my play only people there because I went
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: when you when you go to choose a show, if
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: you're going to rent a house for the summer in
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Jersey at the beach. Nowadays, I'm sure it's all online,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: but back in the day when I was a kid,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: used to go down there and it with the beach
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: would be covered in snow and there's a ghost town.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: There be nobody there. But that's when you go, like,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: look at the house that you might rent for the summer.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: And I always thought it was really eerie and spooky
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: because there were only like a handful of people that
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: lived down there, and but it was the beach and
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: it was just like a ghost that looked like a
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: bomb and going off and there was just no one there.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: And uh, and so I set this play that I wrote.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I sat like down there in the winter. But anyway, sorry, Bob,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: we digressed again. What's your question for us? Sir?
- 1:08:33Speaker 14: I love Scrubs, but both Zach and Donald, you guys
- 1:08:38Speaker 14: have been on the best television show of all time,
- 1:08:44Speaker 14: Sesame Street. Oh about being on Sesame Street. I got
- 1:08:49Speaker 14: a four year old and a seven year old.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I loved it.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: I cut my teeth on Sesame Street.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Go ahead, Yeah you were on. You were on when
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: you were a child.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: I was on, not as a child, but so.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Before clueless, before all of those things, I was a
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: New York actor. And in New York, you know, it
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: was for actors at the time. If you weren't living
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: in Los Angeles and you were living in any city
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: that you know, did commercials or had a production in town,
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: it was like it felt like the trenches, you know
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: what I mean. So if you're not doing play in
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: New York City, if you're not doing plays, you know,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: you're most likely auditioning for auditioning for commercials, and it
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: felt like at the time, every commercial came out of
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: New York City, and you know, there were only you know,
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: there were shows there, like The Cosby Show, was there,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: NYPD Blue, New York Undercover, but there weren't a lot
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: of them, and so you would be going up for
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: these local shows against all your friends, people you knew,
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: and it just really felt like you were in the trenches,
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: like you were fighting for one job with thousands and
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: thousands and thousands of people, where As when you come
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: to LA, it seemed it seemed like there was a job.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: You know, the way they talked about LA when you
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: lived in New York was there's a job they grow
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: on trees out in LA. And so Sesame Street was
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: one of those shows that it was like, you know,
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: they're looking for a new character, they're looking for new
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: characters on Sesame Street, and everybody and their mama went
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: out for Sesame Street. I wound up getting it with
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Eugene Bird, who's on He's in a bunch of movie.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: He was in what was the eminem movie eight Mile,
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: He's in a He's in a Mile. He's the one
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: that steals Britney Murphy from Marshall Mathers in the movie
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Anyway We Got We Got Sesame Street, and it was
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: he was already on it. And then he had a
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: group of friends that he would bring on to help him, like.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: He was a handyman.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: And something happened where the other guys Eugene left and
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: the other guys, I guess Sesame Street didn't like or
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: you know, did something that I don't know what it was,
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: but they kept me around for a bit and I
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: got to, you know, hang out and do I did
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: like something like six or seven episodes of Sesame Street.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to you.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: I grew up with Savion Glover.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: I've known him since I was a kid, and he
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: was on Sesame Street at the time. So it was
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: just kind of cool to see somebody who was very
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: successful in life.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Was he a famous tap dancer?
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: He was already a fair was he was already famous.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: He hadn't done Bring the Noise, Bringing the Funk yet,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: but he had already done like the movie Tap. He
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: had already been huge, and so it was like, holy cow,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: I'm doing scenes with Savion and it felt if you know,
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: I'm legit, you know, I remember when I came out
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: to LA and I had this like big audition and
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: I walked in and it was all of these famous
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: actors like Dante Bosco who was in Hook, he played
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: Ruffeo and Hook, and you know, like a shit ton
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: of the cast from Saved by the Bell, you know,
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: and other things. And I hadn't I didn't have anything
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: on my resume at the time, like you know, Clueless
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: hadn't come out, and they were all talking about what
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: they had worked on, and I was off in the
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: corner and I wanted to be a part of it
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: so bad. I walked in between them all and I
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: was like, yo, well you know, I was on Sesame
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: Street and stuff. And I could see in their faces
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: they're like Sesame Street. But I was so confident because
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: of you know, what Sesame Street meant to me growing up,
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: as it probably will to your four year old.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: I did it relatively recently. I was on with Telly
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: I Believe, and I did a thing about explaining the
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: word anxious to children. And it's really funny. If you
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: get a chance, go look on YouTube and just put
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: in my name Sesame Street anxious. It comes up. But
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: it's funny there was a whole bit where we were
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: both worried. Telly and I were both worried about what
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: was in this box, and we were using that as
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: a as a means of trying to describe to kids
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: the word anxious. And I'm like, oh, now I'm anxious
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: and tell He's like, I'm anxious too, and I and
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, I go, what's in the box,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: what's in the bar? What's in the box? I got
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: like a whole seven reference into.
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: You and Brad Pitt. You and Brad Pitt.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I went Brad Pitt seven.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: So now let's talk about this again.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I like his work. I'm not trying to dock him.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Dude, You're totally trying to dock Brad Pitt.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Because I like seven. I'm not trying to dock Brad.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: You see, this is what I'm talking about. I said,
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: I like Leo, and I'm trying to dock Leo.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: You like Brad? If I like Leo and I'm trying
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: to dock if that's.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: What that one's a right, Neither one of us are
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: trying to dock.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Okay, we thank you, clear love.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: I do love the movie seven a lot.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: That's not all you love you Love five Club.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, well Brad's a great actor.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so's Leo.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, Bob, thank you. Do you have another question?
- 1:14:08Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm a I'm a seventh grade teacher here in Virginia.
- 1:14:12Speaker 14: Cool and I just want to know if you guys
- 1:14:16Speaker 14: had a story about your favorite teacher.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: We love, we love.
- 1:14:20Speaker 14: Hearing from my students, and uh, you know, we love
- 1:14:24Speaker 14: when they reach out to us.
- 1:14:25Speaker 13: I don't always remember them.
- 1:14:26Speaker 14: I got a lot of students come through my classroom,
- 1:14:28Speaker 14: but I love it when they when they contact us.
- 1:14:30Speaker 13: So I wonder if you guys had a how do
- 1:14:32Speaker 13: they impact you?
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: What?
- 1:14:34Speaker 13: What?
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: So many? So many?
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: I have so many too.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: But there's one teacher that I had that was so awesome.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: And his name was mister Hurt and he was a
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: history teacher.
- 1:14:45Speaker 13: As am I and uh and you.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: Know I had him in high school my senior year,
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: and I thought we had like a vibe, like because
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: I was a good student. I you know, history was
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: a lot of fun for me. I'd liked to study history,
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: and you know he was one of those cats that
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: you know, when Black History Month came around, we could
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: talk about we would talk about black history for the
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: whole month, you know what I mean.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: And he was an awesome history teacher.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: I never did homework in the class, though, you know
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: what I mean, Like I would always do I would
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: always ace my tests, like literally get nineties on tests,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: one hundreds on tests.
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: But I never did homework.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: It's my senior year, and I'm thinking, well, I'm gonna,
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: definitely I'm gonna. I don't need to worry about history
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: because that's my favorite subject and I'm crushing it in history.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: I remember having to go to other teachers and be
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: like and beg for just a sixty so I could graduate, right,
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: I didn't worry about history. I pass every class in
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: my senior year. Now, granted, I had messed around throughout
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: high school. I had gotten left back, I went to
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: summer school, and then you know, in my junior year,
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I went to summer school so I could graduate on time.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: I had done all of these things to make it
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: so that I graduated when I was supposed to graduate,
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: and begged all my teachers to give me. Look, I
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: know I'm not passing. I know I got like a
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: fifty nine right now, But if you could just figure
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: out a way to just turn that fifty nine into
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: a sixty.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: Help a brother.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: The one class that I didn't worry about, mister Hurt
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: gives me a fifty nine instead of a sixty, and
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: I had to go to summer school to get my diploma.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: He taught you a lesson, though, he.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Did teach me a lesson.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: And then so one day he hits me up on
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Facebook like, Donald, I'm so proud of you.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: I'm wanna be honest with you.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: I always knew you'd be where you are today. You
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: had such charisma in high school whatever it is now.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I went to high school with a bunch of actors
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: and entertainers and everything, and so it meant a lot
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: for me to hear that.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: But then I remembered, motherfucker, you' the one.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: That gave me a fifty nine instead of a sixty
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: and I had to go to summer school. And I
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: remember telling him that. He was like I did that.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: He was like, ah, whatever, man, but I'm so proud
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: of you. So listen to Hurt, my favorite teacher all time.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Well, I just want to say, there's a lot, Bob.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I have a lot of fond memories of certain teachers.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: And there was a TV teacher at my high school
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: that really got me into like working and we had
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: like a little TV station and I love that. And
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: mister Mullen, he was so supportive of my I'd make
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: these little short films and I think he could really
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: tell that I was passionate about it. And I remember
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: earlier there was an English teacher near Miss Petrolia who
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: for the first time, was introducing us to poetry, and
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: I really really responded to you know, at the time,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: we thought, oh, we have to memorize these Robert Frost's
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: poems and stuff. And I remember thinking like, this is
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: so stupid, But I grew to really love poetry and ultimately,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: in college got into Shakespeare. And so I have a
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: lot of fond memories of teachers. And so I'm sure
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: other students have told you this before, but you guys
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: make such a difference in people's lives, particularly if you're
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: a good teacher, because you know, some of us have
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: memories of teachers that we weren't effective or we felt
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: were condescending. But the ones I really remember are ones
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: that were just so pure and honest about it. They
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: really were excited about what they were teaching, and that
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: and that landed in us. That was transferred because we
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: I mean this, this woman was patrolling. That got me
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: excited about poetry. She got me excited about reading literature,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: and her passion came through.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: You know, dude, I totally understand what you're saying when
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: you say stuff like that, Like I had one teacher
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: and it was just my guidance counselor now you know.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: I knew in high school that I didn't want to
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: go to college and I wanted to go to I
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: wanted to move to Los Angeles immediately after high school
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: and become an actor. And he was like, dude, you
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: got to apply for colleges and stuff. And I was like,
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it. He was like, all right,
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: fine whatever, and I got in. I went and I
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: auditioned for Rutgers University. My mom went to Rutgers University
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: and I got in, and he was so excited for me,
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: and he sat me down. He was like, dude, I
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: don't know how you like literally, this is what.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: He said to me.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: I don't know how you did it, but you got
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: into Rutgers, man, you did it.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: You got into Rutgers. Now. I remember looking at.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Him and saying, yeah, you know, I'm college isn't for me.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: I'm not going to go to college. I'm I'm gonna
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: give this acting thing a shot. And I could see
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: the disappointment in his face, like you're throwing away your future, kid,
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: And it always, it always sticks with me. That always
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: sticks with me that he cared so much about what
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: was gonna happen to me after I left that school.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: He wasn't like, listen, I get that you I get
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: that you want he was. He was like, I get
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: that you want to be famous. I get all of that,
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: but dude, you have a you have a shot that
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Rutgers is a very good school.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: This is something that a lot of people would kill for,
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: and somehow you convinced them that you're Rutger's material.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: I can't believe you're not gonna do it.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: And that's always stuck with me, Like he cared so
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: much about my future that he was willing to protest
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: pretty much.
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: You know, I think you're doing the wrong thing. This
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: isn't you. You're making a mistake.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: Regardless of where I'm at now and regardless of my
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: belief in myself, I'd still look back at him and
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: like and and think I think very highly of mister
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: Knapp as well.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Well Alston thinking about the odds of someone making it
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: is so slim that he you know, he is an actor.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: It's the it's it's it is a bit of a lottery.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: And so he was just looking out for you and
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: being like, oh, I like this kid. I don't know
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: if he's gonna as an actor.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: Well, Bob, thank you so much. Thank you for coming on,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: thank you for being a teacher, and thank you for
