- 0:04Speaker 1: Epochs. Welcome into the The Irish Theaters podcast. We are
- 0:08Speaker 1: just to round two weeks until the start of the
- 0:10Speaker 1: NFL season of the Pittsburgh Steeters going up against the
- 0:13Speaker 1: San Francisco Forty Landers. Count with for that, Michael mcquai
- 0:16Speaker 1: is delighted to be joined by Jimmy English and Dan McKee.
- 0:19Speaker 1: First off, Jimmy, we are getting closer mid and I
- 0:22Speaker 1: know every podcast we say how excited we are, but
- 0:24Speaker 1: it genuinely really feels not like we're getting that. We're
- 0:27Speaker 1: entering the last game of preseason this week and then
- 0:30Speaker 1: we wit enjoyful hope and expectation for hopefully the s
- 0:33Speaker 1: Theeters victory in the first week of the season.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I think at this stage, Michael, it's almost like waiting
- 0:39Speaker 3: for Christmas. That s what it feels like to me.
- 0:41Speaker 3: It's like waiting for scienton to come on Christmas Eve,
- 0:43Speaker 3: waiting for the first regular season game of Theedar football
- 0:47Speaker 3: and there's just that let there's so much anticipation, you know,
- 0:51Speaker 3: and the build up threat the preseason and beat Fantastic
- 0:53Speaker 3: two and there was a little bit of swagger to
- 0:56Speaker 3: the Theaters against the Bills that you like, so hopefully
- 0:59Speaker 3: make it they a replicate that a week one against
- 1:01Speaker 3: the Niners.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Absolutely, I'm like I I've really enjoyed the preseason this year.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I'd curd of what it is or if it's he
- 1:08Speaker 1: did long for football, but it's it's been. And we'll
- 1:12Speaker 1: go into talking about this building scheme just it just
- 1:14Speaker 1: a bit more detail than the wea minute. But it's
- 1:16Speaker 1: been a great preseason so far. And as Jimmy said,
- 1:19Speaker 1: just itching to get gold.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Yeah, the preseason has went as well as I think
- 1:24Speaker 4: we can expect mego. But yeah, it's it's just we're
- 1:27Speaker 4: just at that point now where I think we've seen
- 1:29Speaker 4: everything we need to see it that rit obviously heading
- 1:32Speaker 4: into the last week now just let's try just get
- 1:35Speaker 4: through it and hopefully no injuries and stuff, and you know,
- 1:38Speaker 4: I think we're just ready to roll on September now.
- 1:40Speaker 4: So just backing up everything Jimmy said, you know that
- 1:43Speaker 4: we've seen everything we need the scene it and just
- 1:45Speaker 4: obviously heading this game on Thursday night and get it
- 1:47Speaker 4: over and done with and rule on September.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Bengo, it's been mad a few weeks obviously in a
- 1:53Speaker 1: posse of the way that Arnam because obviously having the
- 1:55Speaker 1: leaders come into the global markets scheme and Jimmy, I
- 1:58Speaker 1: know you're an avid support, you know, developing the game
- 2:01Speaker 1: look big and like I think a lot of people
- 2:03Speaker 1: are here and Ireland played host to the IFAF European
- 2:06Speaker 1: Flag Football Championships and Limerick at the weekend. It's my
- 2:09Speaker 1: first time in Limerick and it's prop to the Staelers.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I know, it's it's important to imagine this because they
- 2:14Speaker 1: donated gear on jersey jerseys, et cetera to the Irish
- 2:17Speaker 1: Bold Finals. That's the national team for Ireland for both
- 2:20Speaker 1: male and female players. It was great the season because
- 2:23Speaker 1: you know, I think because Walker out of the weekend
- 2:25Speaker 1: and honestly, like and this is this is pretty the
- 2:28Speaker 1: gear coming out, Like there were so many people in
- 2:31Speaker 1: the statersas that I actually hit to head home, Like
- 2:33Speaker 1: there's so many Staelers fans in Ireland and yeah, props
- 2:35Speaker 1: to them, and I know the players were relied to that.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It was a great weekend as well. That good of
- 2:39Speaker 1: a weekend that even the NFL was talking about it
- 2:41Speaker 1: this morning on NFL Network.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, Michael.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I mean I think there always would have been a
- 2:48Speaker 3: bit of a Steeters fan base in Ireland given the
- 2:50Speaker 3: course to start a connections between the country and the Rooneys,
- 2:54Speaker 3: and just because of course, you know, we had the game.
- 2:57Speaker 3: We're back in nineteen ninety six. But it's great to
- 3:00Speaker 3: see the investment from the Steelers and the effort they
- 3:02Speaker 3: have put in to make to make Irish fans feel
- 3:04Speaker 3: like they are you know that they're part of this
- 3:07Speaker 3: growth in Ireland. They're part of the Steters plans for
- 3:09Speaker 3: growing the fan based internationally. And yeah, I mean I
- 3:13Speaker 3: was a little bit jealous that I that I wasn't
- 3:15Speaker 3: down there like a great weekend and everyone have ever
- 3:18Speaker 3: had a great time, but I was great to see
- 3:20Speaker 3: a successful major international flight football tournament, you know, coming
- 3:25Speaker 3: to Ireland. I flight football in its own right, it's
- 3:29Speaker 3: becoming more popular and more competitive, and you know, it's
- 3:32Speaker 3: third dates. It's been on the cards now for a
- 3:34Speaker 3: number of years to have it in the Olympics, and
- 3:37Speaker 3: it mightn't be the next Olympics or the one after,
- 3:39Speaker 3: I'm not entirely sure. But again, great to see the buzz,
- 3:42Speaker 3: great to see the Steeters getting behind it and supporting
- 3:44Speaker 3: our national team. And yeah, absolutely fantastic.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. It was great to see and just
- 3:50Speaker 1: great to see so much Staeters black and black and yellow,
- 3:53Speaker 1: but more so green Steeters cops every and so great
- 3:56Speaker 1: crack and obviously the DeFord to see and what happens
- 3:58Speaker 1: with the game here with Flag four publisher, the Steelers
- 4:01Speaker 1: will do something in that regard at some point. Excited
- 4:04Speaker 1: to see what this famb event is going to be
- 4:06Speaker 1: and when that's going to be announced. Everyone stick to
- 4:08Speaker 1: this podcast to subscribe and will bringing the news and
- 4:10Speaker 1: whatever it does. The Sailors and made a verbal commitment
- 4:12Speaker 1: to that. Let's let's let's jump in that game against
- 4:15Speaker 1: the Bills that happened in week two preseason. Great again
- 4:18Speaker 1: to see the game and ga go very very handy
- 4:20Speaker 1: when you're actually not at home with my case and
- 4:23Speaker 1: I was watching it on the phone. It was great
- 4:25Speaker 1: and at a decent time as well. You have to
- 4:28Speaker 1: look at that performance, especially in the first part of
- 4:30Speaker 1: the game and Galen Warren with that big run. Pretty
- 4:34Speaker 1: much from that like, the offense looks signed. I know
- 4:36Speaker 1: there's a lot of backups on and you've seen a
- 4:39Speaker 1: bit of Kenny, but as we talk about to our guests,
- 4:43Speaker 1: like there's not really many complaints so far at all.
- 4:46Speaker 1: It's actially going into the Ferbic of preseason now.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yeah, like I said earlier in the podcast, mag I
- 4:52Speaker 4: think it's been the perfect preseason so far. Obviously, you know,
- 4:56Speaker 4: we've had one one major energy injury, sorry with with
- 4:59Speaker 4: Corey Trice, but apart from that, every other everybody else
- 5:02Speaker 4: has managed to stay a fit and the performance has
- 5:04Speaker 4: just been It's been as good as you could have hoped.
- 5:06Speaker 5: You know.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Kenny Pekett Pickett is just looking so confident right now,
- 5:11Speaker 4: and not through the Frire move for the tot time
- 5:13Speaker 4: was incredible. Obviously heard moof after the game as we
- 5:17Speaker 4: as we call him move and he said after the
- 5:19Speaker 4: Jimmy Canny but he can't believe how much Kenny has
- 5:22Speaker 4: come along just with even this short space of time.
- 5:25Speaker 4: The Jalen Warren touchdown, and there's a lot of talk
- 5:28Speaker 4: going on. Obviously with Jalen Warren. We've messed in the podcast.
- 5:31Speaker 4: He's good enough to be starting running back in this
- 5:33Speaker 4: in this league easily, and obviously you know people are
- 5:37Speaker 4: starting to say maybe you should be running back one
- 5:39Speaker 4: For me, I think we need to pump the.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Brakes and not a bit more. But look, Dot Don
- 5:43Speaker 5: Moore Jr. As well.
- 5:44Speaker 4: You know he's stabbing up in the tackle pousion and
- 5:48Speaker 4: he allowed that run to axually happened. So there's just
- 5:51Speaker 4: a lot of positives going through. There's no negative you
- 5:53Speaker 4: can really say. It would find that you would need
- 5:56Speaker 4: to find a very negative person to bring any negatives
- 5:58Speaker 4: up so far about this preseason because it's just been
- 6:00Speaker 4: as good as we could possibly hope and let's just
- 6:02Speaker 4: hopefully it translates into the actual end of the season.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Absolutely, Jimmy Man like I think the anytime he was
- 6:07Speaker 1: twenty seven up and he'll take it a little bit
- 6:09Speaker 1: of thills with it.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:11Speaker 3: And I saw a week clip on social media after
- 6:14Speaker 3: the game Michael kay Pickt had a little Connor McGregor
- 6:17Speaker 3: swagger on him, and that was that was fantastic. And
- 6:20Speaker 3: I mean he looked so confident throwing the ball. He
- 6:23Speaker 3: was out there slinging his he let it all obviously.
- 6:26Speaker 3: He looked so comfortable. He looked like he belonged and
- 6:29Speaker 3: as his sitters QB one. And you know, it wasn't
- 6:32Speaker 3: just the offense that had a good game. The defense
- 6:35Speaker 3: really stepped up as well. I think there was four
- 6:37Speaker 3: total turnovers or takeaways in the game, and three of
- 6:40Speaker 3: which were interceptions womens from the recovery and Joey Potter Jr.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I mean, that's where we dropped him. That's what we
- 6:46Speaker 3: were opening. He were turning into as a balldok and
- 6:49Speaker 3: I know that's let's all calm down a little bit.
- 6:51Speaker 3: It was against backups, but again, he read the roots
- 6:54Speaker 3: so perfectly and Jumpedish he'll never get an easier interception
- 6:58Speaker 3: again in his career. I don't think it was great
- 7:00Speaker 3: to see him get number one and early on in
- 7:03Speaker 3: his career, and I think he yeah, he's showing a
- 7:07Speaker 3: flash of what he's what he's capable of. I think
- 7:10Speaker 3: he will be a cornerback starting the week one, and overall,
- 7:13Speaker 3: it was just a fantastic team performance. So yeah, that's
- 7:16Speaker 3: just hope we can carry it into into Atlanta now
- 7:19Speaker 3: and into the regular season.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Please God, Please God. We will talk about that last
- 7:24Speaker 1: game of the preseason in the weast second, but we're
- 7:26Speaker 1: gonna bring our guests on. First off, folks, as we
- 7:28Speaker 1: get closer to the regular season starting and as we
- 7:30Speaker 1: entered the last game of pre season, we're the light
- 7:32Speaker 1: as welcome. Mike Pursuit to the Irish Sitters podcast. Mike
- 7:37Speaker 1: does a number of different things for the Stats, contributes
- 7:40Speaker 1: to Stators Dition Radio, and also staters dot Com. Great
- 7:43Speaker 1: the chance said earlier here is Mike Books on this
- 7:50Speaker 1: week's edition of the Irisher this podcast. We're getting closer
- 7:52Speaker 1: and closer to the regular season, only a couple of
- 7:55Speaker 1: weeks not away from the Staters entertaining the forty nine
- 7:59Speaker 1: ers in the first game in this season. We have
- 8:00Speaker 1: some great guests over the first few weeks of this podcast,
- 8:03Speaker 1: and you know there is no exception. This week, we're
- 8:05Speaker 1: delighted to welcome a guy that's covered the Staters for
- 8:08Speaker 1: decades locally. He's the current host of a number of
- 8:12Speaker 1: different programs on the Staters Radio network that includes the
- 8:16Speaker 1: Game Day Show and also writes for staiters dot Com.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Mike pursued it, Mike, as we say, we're here, Fallshif Welcome.
- 8:22Speaker 1: How you doing.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Pleasure round to be joining you guys. I have not
- 8:28Speaker 2: yet had the good fortune to make it to Ireland.
- 8:30Speaker 2: It's on my to do list, but I feel like
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'm getting little foot in the door here, so thanks
- 8:35Speaker 2: for having me.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Hopefully, Mike, at some point you'll get the chance to
- 8:39Speaker 1: fly over the Atlantic or over the Pond, as you
- 8:41Speaker 1: guys call it. It's funny because we usually ask every
- 8:45Speaker 1: US guest have you ever been to Arland? So you're
- 8:47Speaker 1: ahead of us there in a good way. And I
- 8:49Speaker 1: guess Mike, you know, we'll talk about this down in
- 8:52Speaker 1: the stretcher on this shot. There are obviously so many
- 8:55Speaker 1: Staters fans on the island of Ireland, so so many,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and you know, I know a lot of them will
- 9:01Speaker 1: be aware about you. But for ones that aren't, can
- 9:03Speaker 1: you even be talked to us? Maybe just a little
- 9:05Speaker 1: bit of your history with his team and some of
- 9:08Speaker 1: the things that you've seen Dinas through the years.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I'll give you the short version. My family is from
- 9:17Speaker 2: western Pennsylvania. I grew up in Philadelphia, but my father
- 9:21Speaker 2: had recently moved moved everybody from the Pittsburgh area to Philadelphia,
- 9:25Speaker 2: so he insisted that everybody remade Steelers fans because that's
- 9:29Speaker 2: what he was. And I've been working in the media
- 9:33Speaker 2: in Pittsburgh or the surrounding area since nineteen eighty five.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I started covering the Steelers for the last three games
- 9:41Speaker 2: of the nineteen eighty sixth season, so I go back
- 9:44Speaker 2: to the Chuck Mold days. I've done newspaperwork, television, radio,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and now I'm kind of doing a radio show in
- 9:52Speaker 2: the morning here at Pittsburgh. As you mentioned, hosting the
- 9:55Speaker 2: Steelers Radio Network pregame show and doing the Steelers dot
- 9:58Speaker 2: Com stuff as it comes up. So I've been doing
- 10:00Speaker 2: this a while and it's something I always wanted to
- 10:04Speaker 2: do growing up. I wanted to be in the media
- 10:06Speaker 2: and I wanted to work in Pittsburgh covering this team.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So I've been very lucky. Maybe I should have aimed
- 10:11Speaker 2: a little higher, fellas, I don't know, but I kind
- 10:13Speaker 2: of got to do what I wanted to, like to
- 10:15Speaker 2: go Yeah, got that goat for me, which is nice.
- 10:18Speaker 1: No, Yeah, you know, you're certainly right there. Make in
- 10:20Speaker 1: terms of your boss experience covering the team, it's great
- 10:23Speaker 1: to hear from your memories done for the years. If
- 10:25Speaker 1: we switch focus to this year's seeing the twenty twenty
- 10:27Speaker 1: Fleet Pittsburgh Staters, what are your expectations for the Staters
- 10:31Speaker 1: as we am to this year because there's so much excitement,
- 10:34Speaker 1: there's so much positivity around this team as we entered
- 10:37Speaker 1: a new season.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You know, I think it's the work in progress thing.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I think for the last several years, the last few
- 10:44Speaker 2: years of the Ben Roethlis fur Your era, and certainly
- 10:47Speaker 2: last year, I think they were just trying to keep
- 10:49Speaker 2: it together. And now, of course publicly they always say
- 10:52Speaker 2: they're trying to win the Super Bowl, but you know,
- 10:54Speaker 2: teams get old, guys go, you have to turn over
- 10:57Speaker 2: the lineup. It's not easy. It's very competitive league. I
- 11:01Speaker 2: think they were realistically trying, at least my perception, they
- 11:07Speaker 2: were trying not to fall apart, not to go five
- 11:10Speaker 2: and twelve or six and eleven. The vibe I'm getting
- 11:13Speaker 2: this year, and I think the vibe the fans have
- 11:17Speaker 2: definitely back here, is that, Okay, this is a different
- 11:21Speaker 2: football game. They're back in the competing for Super Bowl business.
- 11:25Speaker 2: They have what appears to be a talented team, a
- 11:29Speaker 2: deep team, a young team that is maturing, and a
- 11:33Speaker 2: lot of us in the media. You know, when you're
- 11:35Speaker 2: in the media, you're kind of skeptical by nature, and
- 11:38Speaker 2: you're looking for reasons why it's not gonna work. A
- 11:41Speaker 2: lot of us have been looking for those reasons throughout camp,
- 11:43Speaker 2: and guys are hard to find.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Mike, You've covered a team from many of the year,
- 11:48Speaker 1: And I guess outside of any Super Bowl victories, what
- 11:51Speaker 1: is being your most memorable woman? Don putting you on
- 11:54Speaker 1: the spot here, like, what's being your most memorable woman?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Cover in the status, I would have to say just
- 11:59Speaker 1: the Ryle with the Ravens.
- 12:01Speaker 2: You know, you know that got quite odded intense, and
- 12:04Speaker 2: it's been that for a long time now. And you know,
- 12:08Speaker 2: you get to look at an AFC championship game or
- 12:10Speaker 2: something significant if you want. But really, to me, the
- 12:13Speaker 2: beauty of it is whether both teams are really good,
- 12:17Speaker 2: whether both teams are struggling, whether one is good and
- 12:20Speaker 2: the other is struggling. Those two games, to me are
- 12:24Speaker 2: the essence of what football ought to be. And they're
- 12:27Speaker 2: so physical and they're such great games. It always comes
- 12:31Speaker 2: down to three points, four points, two points. I just
- 12:35Speaker 2: one of the things I really enjoyed about the job
- 12:37Speaker 2: that I have is I get to watch two Steelers
- 12:40Speaker 2: Ravens game no matter what happens throughout the course of
- 12:43Speaker 2: the season. I know I'm me to see that game
- 12:45Speaker 2: twice and I know it's really gonna be worth watching.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a personal fear for me as well, you know,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I mean, the Ravens are definitely two games that I
- 12:54Speaker 1: look forward to. I look at immediately when the schedule
- 12:57Speaker 1: is released, Mike, you know, looking pasta there's a bit
- 13:01Speaker 1: of talk on social media and I at the bottle
- 13:03Speaker 1: between both Naji Harris and jale Warren. Just how good
- 13:07Speaker 1: has Warren been in camp on the preseason so far?
- 13:10Speaker 1: You know, one of your faults in this position as
- 13:13Speaker 1: we enter this season.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the ladder definitely. And this is nothing
- 13:18Speaker 2: against Jalen Warren, who is an outstanding number two back,
- 13:21Speaker 2: and you need to the way the NFL has played
- 13:24Speaker 2: now and he's gonna get some chances to contribute. He
- 13:27Speaker 2: probably will contribute. But you know that conversation has been
- 13:30Speaker 2: had around here lately as well, particularly after the Buffalo game,
- 13:35Speaker 2: and the offensive coordinator Matt Cannon that kind of put
- 13:37Speaker 2: it to bed. Yesterday he talked with several of us
- 13:41Speaker 2: and he said Nase's number one, and the reason you
- 13:44Speaker 2: haven't seen him very much in the preseason is they
- 13:46Speaker 2: are protecting him because he is number one. He's gotten
- 13:50Speaker 2: some work in practice, and I gotta tell you it
- 13:52Speaker 2: was very effective in the pre opportunity she got up
- 13:56Speaker 2: at Saint Vincent College. You haven't seen Hi much in
- 13:58Speaker 2: the preseason games, but their perspective is Nagie Harris is
- 14:03Speaker 2: the clear number one. My personal thing, I think really
- 14:05Speaker 2: highly of that guy. His work ethic is unbelievable. I
- 14:10Speaker 2: think he has not yet been able to produce what
- 14:13Speaker 2: he is going to this season, in large part because
- 14:16Speaker 2: of factors that were beyond his control. A transitioning offensive line,
- 14:21Speaker 2: the change at quarterback, that the youth around the offense
- 14:25Speaker 2: in general. I think they are positioned this year to
- 14:29Speaker 2: have a very good offense, and I think Nagie Harris
- 14:31Speaker 2: is going to be a huge part of.
- 14:32Speaker 1: That guy's Absolutely. Mike Can one of the I guess
- 14:37Speaker 1: we'll talk about the statters in Ireland and just a
- 14:39Speaker 1: little second, but one of the major benefits for Steddars
- 14:41Speaker 1: fans in Ireland over the last few weeks especially has
- 14:44Speaker 1: been the opportunity to see in the local Steelers at
- 14:47Speaker 1: video wide put in these games for local TV on
- 14:50Speaker 1: the service called geed Go over Here, which is basically
- 14:53Speaker 1: like an Irish version of like NFL GA Impossible. We've
- 14:56Speaker 1: been able to watch the last two games. Just your
- 15:00Speaker 1: faults on that Buffalo game, I mean a lot of positives.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It looks like the team is really making some good
- 15:06Speaker 1: steps as we go into these last few weeks of preseason.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Yeah, there's definitely a reason to being highly encouraged. That
- 15:14Speaker 2: would say, now, you got to keep it in perspective,
- 15:16Speaker 2: it's the preseason and it doesn't count. But what I
- 15:21Speaker 2: think you saw that Buffalo game in particular, Unlike Tampa,
- 15:24Speaker 2: Buffalo was playing it's number one the players on offense
- 15:29Speaker 2: and defense. For a quarter quarter and a half, you
- 15:32Speaker 2: saw the Steelers number one defense really get after Josh Allen,
- 15:36Speaker 2: who's one of the best quarterbacks in the business, in
- 15:38Speaker 2: one of the guys who is supposed to be one
- 15:42Speaker 2: of the reasons why the Steelers aren't gonna go to
- 15:44Speaker 2: the Super Bowl. Right. I'm sure you guys have heard
- 15:45Speaker 2: this too many good quarterbacks everywhere else. Kenny Pickett's too young,
- 15:49Speaker 2: they can't compete with Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes,
- 15:53Speaker 2: blah blah blah. You know we're gonna see about that.
- 15:56Speaker 2: But what we saw Saturday night, you saw Picket lead
- 16:00Speaker 2: a couple of touchdown drive against the number one defense.
- 16:03Speaker 2: You saw Pat Bryarmouth beating a very good linebacker in Milano.
- 16:09Speaker 2: You saw Jalen Ward making a little stuff on he
- 16:12Speaker 2: move at the end of his long touchdown run against
- 16:15Speaker 2: Jordan Foyer, very good safety. He saw Darnell Washington, the
- 16:18Speaker 2: rookie tight end, draw passing appirits in the end zone
- 16:21Speaker 2: against aj Klein, another very good linebacker. You saw the
- 16:24Speaker 2: offensive line blocking the guys for Buffalo. I mean it
- 16:28Speaker 2: was only a quarter and a half or a corner
- 16:30Speaker 2: in some cases, but it was the real players against
- 16:33Speaker 2: the real players. So you know, we'll see if they
- 16:35Speaker 2: can put it together for fourth quarters when it really matters.
- 16:37Speaker 2: But I was just talking on my radio show this
- 16:40Speaker 2: morning before I joined you. Guys, if you were thinking
- 16:43Speaker 2: about things that you wanted to see from the preseason
- 16:47Speaker 2: so the far that you haven't, You're gonna have to
- 16:50Speaker 2: think about that a while, aren't you. I mean, you
- 16:52Speaker 2: wanted to see the offensive line be better, right, You
- 16:55Speaker 2: wanted to see the offense score from distance, splash plays
- 16:58Speaker 2: in the passing game. You've seen that. You want to
- 17:00Speaker 2: see the defense take them all away. You've seen that
- 17:03Speaker 2: you wanted to see them stay healthy. First and foremost,
- 17:07Speaker 2: only one guy major injury so far, Corey Schreis junior
- 17:11Speaker 2: or seventh round draft pick and a quarterback who was
- 17:14Speaker 2: actually looking very promising they lost him for the year,
- 17:17Speaker 2: but everybody else looks good to go. You know, it's
- 17:21Speaker 2: it's not time to plan to pray, get or anything
- 17:23Speaker 2: like that. I don't want to give anybody any type
- 17:27Speaker 2: of indication that I'm making predictions for twelve wins or
- 17:31Speaker 2: division championship or anything like that. But so far it
- 17:34Speaker 2: there's been nothing but positive fellas, and the boxes you
- 17:37Speaker 2: wanted to see them check in preparation for the season,
- 17:41Speaker 2: they are being checked, and in several cases they're being
- 17:44Speaker 2: checked the little exclamation points.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Being a yeah, look, I couldn't agree more with you, Like,
- 17:50Speaker 1: you know, it's all positive stuff. Obviously, watching the preseason
- 17:53Speaker 1: l Giego has been great for us, has been really positive.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Just even watching upon you know, one major positive in
- 17:58Speaker 1: my opinion, I think anyone expected to take off this quick.
- 18:02Speaker 1: But we've spoken to the podcast in previous weeks. You know,
- 18:04Speaker 1: you look at Nick Herbert, he that's an absolute monster
- 18:07Speaker 1: in his position. Can you just talk to us about
- 18:09Speaker 1: one of his progression has been Like so far.
- 18:11Speaker 2: You bring up the TJ. Watt connection. I'm not sure
- 18:14Speaker 2: if you guys backstory made it across the pond. But TJ.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Watt played at Wisconsin. Nick Herbert played college football Wisconsin.
- 18:23Speaker 2: They play the same defense that the Steelers played, So
- 18:26Speaker 2: the Steelers truck that when they're looking at Wisconsin players
- 18:29Speaker 2: and evaluating them, they're going to be asked to do
- 18:32Speaker 2: the same things for the Steelers that Wisconsin is asking
- 18:35Speaker 2: them to do, so they get a little loss security
- 18:38Speaker 2: there in the evaluation. But Nick Herbert a couple of
- 18:41Speaker 2: years ago reached out to TJ. Watt on social media
- 18:46Speaker 2: and basically said, hey, can you help me out. I'd
- 18:48Speaker 2: like to learn a few things. What responded because they're
- 18:51Speaker 2: both Wisconsin guys. So imagine if you're in college playing
- 18:55Speaker 2: this sport and you're getting tutorials from the NFL. That's
- 19:00Speaker 2: a player of the Year that's going to fast track
- 19:03Speaker 2: you a little bit, isn't it. And the quickness since
- 19:06Speaker 2: he got to Saint Vincent College and training camp and
- 19:09Speaker 2: they put the pads on and actually started banging, his
- 19:12Speaker 2: quickness off the edge is very TJ. Watt like. Now,
- 19:16Speaker 2: it remains to be seen if Nick Herbig is big
- 19:19Speaker 2: enough and experienced enough to play every down, if he
- 19:22Speaker 2: can set the edge against the running game, if he
- 19:24Speaker 2: can deal with the physicality. But guys, I think we've
- 19:27Speaker 2: seen already situational pass rusher, which you need one or
- 19:31Speaker 2: two of those. Definitely in support of what and Alex Heismith.
- 19:36Speaker 2: This kid can rush the passer at an NFL level,
- 19:39Speaker 2: he can get the quarterback on the ground at an
- 19:42Speaker 2: NFL level. They anticipate he will be a very big,
- 19:45Speaker 2: good special teams player. He's also got a brother in
- 19:48Speaker 2: the league who's an offensive line and the Steelers picked
- 19:50Speaker 2: up this past offseason. And I've always been a big
- 19:53Speaker 2: believer if your dad played, or you've got a brother
- 19:56Speaker 2: who played, or an uncle, it's such a transition, not
- 20:00Speaker 2: like any other over here that any you know, it's
- 20:05Speaker 2: like a cheat code almost, or it fast tracks so
- 20:08Speaker 2: you you you got back, says state information and an
- 20:12Speaker 2: understanding that the regular guide does not. So yeah, I
- 20:16Speaker 2: think number fifty one, you're gonna see him making some
- 20:18Speaker 2: place this year.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Love it, love it love and Mike, he said, it's
- 20:23Speaker 1: at this podcast. You haven't been the art right, but
- 20:25Speaker 1: we know that the Stater is doing all the lot internationally,
- 20:28Speaker 1: obviously a huge presence in Mexico. They've got a German
- 20:32Speaker 1: podcast and there's got so much more things going on.
- 20:34Speaker 1: There's it's it seems like you look, there's always been
- 20:38Speaker 1: obviously that natural connection to this island with the Rooney family,
- 20:41Speaker 1: but it feels like, Mike, it's now really went up
- 20:45Speaker 1: a gear and you can you can see it. Like
- 20:47Speaker 1: I was at a footballer out of the weekend. There's
- 20:50Speaker 1: loads of people walking around with Staters, cops, Theaters gear
- 20:53Speaker 1: and you're talking thousands of miles away from you, guys,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I guess, just what are your faults on this? Theaters
- 20:58Speaker 1: international efforts and just it's your fault as a guy
- 21:01Speaker 1: that's followed the league for so long. What do you
- 21:04Speaker 1: think in terms of the NFL expanding globally? Do you
- 21:07Speaker 1: like it?
- 21:08Speaker 2: I love it. Had a chance to go to England
- 21:11Speaker 2: with the Steelers and I think it was twenty thirteen,
- 21:15Speaker 2: and a lot of people came from America for that
- 21:17Speaker 2: game because you know that it was such an attractive trip.
- 21:20Speaker 2: But there were a lot of local people in England
- 21:22Speaker 2: that follow the NFL. You mentioned the ties with Mexico.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Just out of training camp last week, somebody had draped
- 21:31Speaker 2: and Irish flag over you know, one of the separating
- 21:34Speaker 2: barriers between the fans and the field. They didn't get
- 21:37Speaker 2: a chance to go over and ask them if they're
- 21:39Speaker 2: actually from Ireland. But I didn't meet a guy from
- 21:41Speaker 2: England at trading camp last year. I think, you know,
- 21:46Speaker 2: it's not that far. Did you go from New York
- 21:49Speaker 2: to Seattle to play a game? You go from New
- 21:53Speaker 2: York to Ireland or England, you know, Paul Park about
- 21:56Speaker 2: the same amount of travel. So I would like to
- 21:59Speaker 2: see the league get more involved playing internationally. I'm also
- 22:05Speaker 2: a big hockey fan. I don't know if you guys
- 22:07Speaker 2: are or not, but hockey is a very global sport.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Basketball is a very global sport. I think football could
- 22:14Speaker 2: be as well.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely something we're trying to hop to hont
- 22:18Speaker 1: over here. You know, the game is just screwing masterly
- 22:21Speaker 1: in Ireland and over the last few years. I couldn't
- 22:23Speaker 1: agree more than that. You know, looking at Fairs and
- 22:25Speaker 1: I Mike, we're handled onto the Falcons in the last
- 22:28Speaker 1: preseason game. You know, we've spoken the last few polcasts
- 22:31Speaker 1: about the importance of preseason and when he used certain players.
- 22:35Speaker 1: What are your expectations for version out of self.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I think the guys you want to see player are
- 22:40Speaker 2: going to play some now. Mike Tomins said immediately after
- 22:45Speaker 2: the Buffalo game. One of the reasons he took the
- 22:47Speaker 2: starters out as quickly as he did was it was
- 22:50Speaker 2: going so well, right, I mean, two touchdowns in the
- 22:52Speaker 2: first quarter of the defense shutting Buffalo out. He was
- 22:55Speaker 2: seeing what he needed to see. There is a little
- 22:58Speaker 2: time lag between Thursday night and the regular season opener
- 23:02Speaker 2: against San Francisco, so I don't think you want to
- 23:06Speaker 2: shut him down completely. I think you want to see
- 23:08Speaker 2: him get out there and just kind of do more
- 23:10Speaker 2: on what they've been doing.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:12Speaker 2: We've seen them score touchdowns, We've seen the defense play well,
- 23:15Speaker 2: but it's been a very small sample side. Just see
- 23:18Speaker 2: if he can build on that. The younger you are,
- 23:21Speaker 2: probably the more reps you will play, because there is
- 23:23Speaker 2: no substitute for that kind of experience. A Joey Porter
- 23:28Speaker 2: Junior or at Darnel Washington or Nick Herbin. You can
- 23:31Speaker 2: see those guys out there more than you will Kenny
- 23:33Speaker 2: Pickett and TJ.
- 23:34Speaker 5: Watt.
- 23:35Speaker 2: But I'm my guests, Mike Tomlins, I'm not sure when
- 23:39Speaker 2: you guys are gonna post this. Mike Tomlin's going to
- 23:41Speaker 2: talk to us here in a couple of hours. But
- 23:44Speaker 2: my guess and my suspicion would be maybe a half
- 23:47Speaker 2: for a lot of the guys and then shut it down.
- 23:50Speaker 2: But you know, number one goal is always to get
- 23:53Speaker 2: out of these preseason games with no injuries. But you
- 23:55Speaker 2: do need to get the work in because again, those
- 23:57Speaker 2: those game reps cannot be replicated in practic There's the
- 24:00Speaker 2: crowds there. It feels like a real game when the
- 24:03Speaker 2: guys were playing it. And uh boy, it's interesting Joey
- 24:07Speaker 2: Ford's reaction after that game when he finally got the
- 24:09Speaker 2: playoff for missing the first one and he gets an
- 24:12Speaker 2: interception and he gives the pall to his dad. Just
- 24:14Speaker 2: the look of pure joy on his face in the lock.
- 24:18Speaker 2: He needs, he needs a little more of that. Get
- 24:20Speaker 2: out there, have some success, start real if we's feeling
- 24:23Speaker 2: it as much as you possibly can going into the games.
- 24:26Speaker 1: The matter just for people listening, Mike. Obviously, people can
- 24:29Speaker 1: check out your work on the Theaters Radio network and
- 24:31Speaker 1: also on theedters dot Com Shout the Season. I do
- 24:34Speaker 1: have the ceiling that will definitely maybe check in at
- 24:36Speaker 1: some point down the stretch a few weeks in. You
- 24:38Speaker 1: you're obviously more welcome to come on any time, and
- 24:41Speaker 1: we've we've we've mossily appreciated just your sort of over
- 24:44Speaker 1: of his team and just talking about your time so
- 24:47Speaker 1: far covering this team. And I think, like a lot
- 24:49Speaker 1: of us, we were very excited that the seaters have
- 24:52Speaker 1: me in a commitment to having a fun watch part
- 24:53Speaker 1: of a year at some point during this season, so
- 24:56Speaker 1: as TVC at the moment, and so it's a very
- 24:59Speaker 1: exciting time for Sedars.
- 25:00Speaker 5: I was alarmed.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's exciting time for Staers fans around the world as
- 25:03Speaker 1: we look up to this Falcons game this week which
- 25:05Speaker 1: is on GEA, go and get closer and closer to
- 25:08Speaker 1: this Neithers game. So, Mike, fight you so much and
- 25:11Speaker 1: they enjoy the season. I'm able to chat to you to.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Guys out, I'd love to do it again sometimes.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Okay, it folks great, great to hear from Mike and Jimmy.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Like look, just just generally it's always great here from
- 25:25Speaker 1: like players or personalities, but when you hear from someone
- 25:28Speaker 1: that's been around this team for so long, it actually
- 25:31Speaker 1: paints a picture of just how this team's been through
- 25:33Speaker 1: the years.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, Mike, It's it's always great to get the
- 25:36Speaker 3: inside tracking these guys who, like you said, around the
- 25:39Speaker 3: organization for so long. I have that inside knowledge, and
- 25:42Speaker 3: you know they're at the side, that they're on the side,
- 25:44Speaker 3: that their practices, they're on their they're out there in
- 25:46Speaker 3: training camp, and they really do bring that extra additional
- 25:49Speaker 3: level of insights and that we as that we as
- 25:53Speaker 3: outsiders across the seat here, we don't guess and you know,
- 25:57Speaker 3: it's it's always been a dreammind to it. So stage
- 26:00Speaker 3: get over to a training cabins a big college. So
- 26:03Speaker 3: I might have to give on to Mike Abotter organizing
- 26:05Speaker 3: that after this they.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Have, like Jimmy said, they're now Mike obviously mesaged. There's
- 26:11Speaker 1: a lot in this chat. I think we have to
- 26:13Speaker 1: get over to the physic calls next year, and I
- 26:14Speaker 1: think we're just gonna have to like and make like
- 26:18Speaker 1: a go fundme or a demand that we're going to
- 26:20Speaker 1: do with that. Imagine the crack over there next year
- 26:22Speaker 1: with a great crack.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Honestly, I think were we either go with media or
- 26:26Speaker 4: we just go as blowings. Honestly, I'm down to get
- 26:29Speaker 4: over there absolutely down forth. Just the crack it looks
- 26:33Speaker 4: looks on Rain and I think we can only add
- 26:34Speaker 4: just you know.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I'm marking in the diary. Let's let's see what happens boys.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I mean, we've seen the Irish flag at training cap
- 26:41Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. I'll happily replicate that in
- 26:43Speaker 1: some form or I was just standing there waving the
- 26:45Speaker 1: lads in the good crack and it's it's hard to
- 26:48Speaker 1: be like, we've been doing this podcast for a few weeks, Jimmy,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and we finally come to the situation where it's the
- 26:54Speaker 1: last preseason game and this is it, like this is
- 26:57Speaker 1: where the focus goes. And thinking back to just a
- 26:59Speaker 1: few ago when we had four preseason games and the players,
- 27:02Speaker 1: like a lot of the starters used to play three
- 27:05Speaker 1: to four weeks, so the first three games and that
- 27:08Speaker 1: by the fourth game. It was never really a sole
- 27:11Speaker 1: situation where you have a start. But when you have
- 27:13Speaker 1: that one less preseason game, it's difficult, you know, Like
- 27:15Speaker 1: we see Mike Tomlin came out this week and said
- 27:18Speaker 1: about this game, which takes place on Friday morning at
- 27:21Speaker 1: midnight or half half past twelve our time on GEAG.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Mike our coach, Tomlins said we'll play the first group
- 27:27Speaker 1: until we have a level of satisfaction on both sides
- 27:30Speaker 1: of the ball with those agendas, and we'll go from there. Jimmy,
- 27:33Speaker 1: just your faults in this game against the Falcons, the
- 27:35Speaker 1: team where Maddy expect them to really be challenging in
- 27:39Speaker 1: that division this year now with Arthur Smith. It's a
- 27:42Speaker 1: game where you'd like to see that momentum continued, like
- 27:46Speaker 1: you see how positivity continue. But get everybody home, get
- 27:49Speaker 1: everybody see if you get everyone ready to go for
- 27:51Speaker 1: the Niners in a couple of weeks time.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, And I think you know, picking and the
- 27:55Speaker 3: rest of the starters might play. I think maximum three
- 27:58Speaker 3: or four series, with maybe even less. I think it's
- 28:01Speaker 3: this preseason game like they're going to use it to
- 28:04Speaker 3: determine who are the backup to the primary backups SEW
- 28:06Speaker 3: or third team. And I think at this stage our
- 28:10Speaker 3: QB situation is set. I don't already seen many should
- 28:13Speaker 3: basically taken a third string spot too to Mason Rudolph,
- 28:17Speaker 3: although from the limited action that I have seen during
- 28:19Speaker 3: the preseason, honestly it's a toss up between.
- 28:21Speaker 5: The pair of them.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And I think I think they're going to use this game,
- 28:25Speaker 3: like I say to to to determine the second string
- 28:29Speaker 3: running back and third string running back. And you know
- 28:32Speaker 3: both Anthony Richardson and jenn and Warren have boat shoun
- 28:35Speaker 3: or lost, they're definitely in contention there.
- 28:37Speaker 2: And like, but yeah, like I agree, I agree with you.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Get everyone home safe, let's have no major injuries, and
- 28:43Speaker 3: let's just roll into the into the regular season.
- 28:46Speaker 1: See, it's one of those settings where you like, as
- 28:48Speaker 1: Jimmy said, and as I said, you want healthy priority.
- 28:52Speaker 1: But you mentioned to Mike and you've mentioned the guests
- 28:54Speaker 1: over the last few weeks, you still want to make
- 28:56Speaker 1: the most of the next few minutes, the next quarters
- 29:00Speaker 1: you have because once that game is over, there is
- 29:03Speaker 1: nothing happening until this game in a couple of weeks,
- 29:05Speaker 1: Ham against the Niners.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Is there anything that you'd like to see going into
- 29:08Speaker 4: this last game? Yeah, I just can't echo enough. We
- 29:12Speaker 4: just we just need to get back half. But at
- 29:15Speaker 4: the same time, you know, we went down to Atlanta
- 29:16Speaker 4: last year. I think it was actually one of Kenny's
- 29:18Speaker 4: breakout games. We end up winning. Of course, it's a
- 29:21Speaker 4: different team, it's a different set and with it being
- 29:23Speaker 4: preseason and obviously just can we just continue seeing what
- 29:27Speaker 4: we what we've seen already, you know, and I think
- 29:30Speaker 4: we've been quite conservative as well. If you look at us,
- 29:33Speaker 4: you know we've we haven't you know in terms of
- 29:36Speaker 4: like our first team starters. You know, we've been able
- 29:38Speaker 4: to take them out pretty early in both games. Obviously
- 29:40Speaker 4: with the Bills game was incredible. You know, if you
- 29:44Speaker 4: think of it, you know, people were maybe thinking Josh
- 29:46Speaker 4: Allen will be the player that would be taken off early,
- 29:48Speaker 4: and then he's still on the field in the second quarter,
- 29:50Speaker 4: and it's just like, it's incredible how well we've played.
- 29:53Speaker 4: But as as Jimmy said, and as we've echoed throughout
- 29:57Speaker 4: pre season, just if we can get to September first
- 30:00Speaker 4: game against the Niners, a long breaking out between the
- 30:03Speaker 4: third week and obviously the first week of the regular season.
- 30:06Speaker 4: But if honestly, if we can just get to that
- 30:07Speaker 4: first week and have no major injuries and we're SATs. Honestly,
- 30:10Speaker 4: I think it's it's been a ten out of ten
- 30:12Speaker 4: preseason because you can't really choose anything as in terms
- 30:15Speaker 4: of performances, and obviously if you get through its how
- 30:19Speaker 4: they then that's obviously the massive bonus. So nothing I'll
- 30:22Speaker 4: really want to see it and I can think of
- 30:25Speaker 4: right now anyway, But just I said, please get home
- 30:28Speaker 4: home injury free.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I think it'll be.
- 30:31Speaker 3: It'll be interesting as well to see who they end
- 30:33Speaker 3: up returning pluncing kicks, because up until now it's been
- 30:38Speaker 3: a combination of Calvin Austin, who almost had return twitter
- 30:42Speaker 3: end against the Bills, got tripped up just at the
- 30:44Speaker 3: end of his running and you could see that he
- 30:46Speaker 3: thought he was gone and he was frustrated, and they
- 30:49Speaker 3: had the is this oh the Terry Streak running back
- 30:54Speaker 3: whose name was completely gone from my head and been
- 30:56Speaker 3: a long day. But they had a couple of backups
- 30:59Speaker 3: as well, learning returning kicks and a special team. So
- 31:02Speaker 3: I think they're really going to use this game to
- 31:04Speaker 3: determine those spots and of course the wild throughout the season.
- 31:09Speaker 3: But now they go roy It's it's just gonna be
- 31:11Speaker 3: a kind of a wrap up game, confirm what we
- 31:13Speaker 3: already know we learned throughout the preseason, and just test
- 31:17Speaker 3: that everywhere else.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Really, but quote for me, before we finished this week. Look,
- 31:22Speaker 1: I've been shatting off this podcast to certain people on
- 31:24Speaker 1: different different podcasts, but the AFC North and the general
- 31:28Speaker 1: consensus at least here there is that the Steelers are
- 31:32Speaker 1: really going to challenge for the division. It's it's really
- 31:35Speaker 1: interesting if you look at the actual large scale media,
- 31:38Speaker 1: I guess and I'll start with you jimming and I'll
- 31:40Speaker 1: get Davis falselb album Make It Balance. Like you had
- 31:44Speaker 1: ESPN this week where Ryan Clark called Kenny Pickett a
- 31:47Speaker 1: complete quarterback and believes that Pittsburgh are a major player
- 31:51Speaker 1: in the AFC. From a AFC North, I'd just love
- 31:54Speaker 1: to hear your boys spots in this because at the
- 31:55Speaker 1: end of the day, we hope to see that jump,
- 31:58Speaker 1: that progression this year from this team. And I feel
- 32:00Speaker 1: like a lot of people lie and I guess is
- 32:02Speaker 1: from watching these last few weeks. The Staters look really
- 32:05Speaker 1: hot at the right time, and it just shows you
- 32:08Speaker 1: how key this first couple of games are gonna be
- 32:10Speaker 1: for them.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Absolutely don't sleep on the Steelers this season. And you know,
- 32:14Speaker 3: I think they'll feed off being underrated and being the underdog.
- 32:17Speaker 3: And that's what we need, is we need that underdog
- 32:19Speaker 3: energy to come out swing in a Week one and
- 32:21Speaker 3: complete quarterback. I looked at it and we haven't seen
- 32:24Speaker 3: Kenny rush a whole lot this preseason, but you have
- 32:26Speaker 3: to rely on a lot in the regular In the
- 32:28Speaker 3: regular season last year he scrambled a lot because he
- 32:31Speaker 3: wasn't getting his reads. But every pass about seeing him
- 32:34Speaker 3: throwing the preseason has been crisped. It's been confident. He's
- 32:37Speaker 3: stepping into his throws, he's finding his receivers and back
- 32:41Speaker 3: connection with with with with George Pickens is just gonna
- 32:44Speaker 3: absolutely blow up in this season. I think those guys
- 32:48Speaker 3: are gonna connect for ten touchdowns this season. Honestly, that's
- 32:50Speaker 3: there's another bow prediction, Fie. I know it's not it's
- 32:53Speaker 3: not boll prediction. I love it, but I really do
- 32:57Speaker 3: think that the Seders are gonna they're gonna be in
- 32:59Speaker 3: the position the see the a C North at least
- 33:02Speaker 3: and at least a wild card spot in the playoffs
- 33:06Speaker 3: come January.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I agree. I you know, it's it's maybe taking me
- 33:11Speaker 1: a few weeks to get to that point of thinking
- 33:13Speaker 1: that I think the everything sort of matches up. And
- 33:15Speaker 1: I don't want to get too ahead of us up,
- 33:16Speaker 1: but I complete agree you're sort of thinking where where
- 33:19Speaker 1: you might be at the end of the year. The
- 33:21Speaker 1: the of us with in the North or not is
- 33:23Speaker 1: the big question, and it's just your thoughts and on
- 33:26Speaker 1: those on those columns of the cameos.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Yeah, well, like winning the North obviously that's a major
- 33:31Speaker 4: bolt production. You know, the Bengals are very strong, as
- 33:33Speaker 4: we know, the Ravens of course strong, and the Brands
- 33:36Speaker 4: are the brands, I suppose. But yeah, like hearing not
- 33:40Speaker 4: obviously complete quarterback. A's what you want to hear, because
- 33:44Speaker 4: a complete quarterback is what it is. You know, you
- 33:46Speaker 4: can run, you can throw, no matter what, or no
- 33:48Speaker 4: matter what you know, seams or anything like that, you
- 33:51Speaker 4: know you're throwing it regardless of warrior on the failed
- 33:54Speaker 4: you know the red zone as well. Obviously that's somewhere
- 33:56Speaker 4: where he struggled last year, maybe a bit, but as
- 33:59Speaker 4: we in preseason, he's been able to make anythrow he
- 34:03Speaker 4: needs to.
- 34:05Speaker 5: In terms of the.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Media, that the media just aren't talking about us, and
- 34:08Speaker 4: that's what we want. You know, if you look at
- 34:10Speaker 4: our our recent history, we do better when we are underdogs.
- 34:13Speaker 4: So I'm sure coach Tomlin is just telling them, look,
- 34:16Speaker 4: nobody's talking about us, and that's exactly what we want.
- 34:19Speaker 4: So yeah, going forward, if Kenny can just take that
- 34:23Speaker 4: next step, you know, going into his second season, it
- 34:27Speaker 4: just proves yet again that's you know, he is what
- 34:29Speaker 4: we we know he is going to become.
- 34:31Speaker 5: And hopefully Rag Clark is right. You know, he's he's
- 34:33Speaker 5: been a state.
- 34:33Speaker 4: He's a born stater as we know, and he's showing
- 34:36Speaker 4: that also obviously the confidence that but he needs to
- 34:39Speaker 4: progress in the next level.
- 34:40Speaker 5: So yeah, when in the f C, North is one thing.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Just let's let's become a major brand the FC first
- 34:46Speaker 4: before we're talking about winning the visit titles.
- 34:48Speaker 5: But yeah, hopefully not right.
- 34:50Speaker 2: About great day, I'm optimistic over here.
- 34:54Speaker 5: He's doing real.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yes, the the game is in Atlanta this week. It's
- 35:00Speaker 1: final game of the preseason, folks and the seas for
- 35:01Speaker 1: two on the preseason. Let's see if we can get
- 35:04Speaker 1: that perfect record for then overtime defeat the Baltimore.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Haven's perfect record. I think that will be great with him.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It lats all. It takes time. I mean, I think
- 35:12Speaker 1: if if any of us have here at the end
- 35:14Speaker 1: of that will will be last it. We'll take about
- 35:16Speaker 1: fifteen years, so that's to happen if they do. Falcons
- 35:19Speaker 1: have only won one game so far in the preseason. Look,
- 35:22Speaker 1: both teams we're looking to have a strong finish, but
- 35:24Speaker 1: all see it finish and then that game is on Friday,
- 35:27Speaker 1: more than twelve thirty obviously, folks, by now you should know.
- 35:29Speaker 1: If you don't, the game is on gee Go. It's
- 35:32Speaker 1: the equivalent deal of a game pass in Ireland Gaego
- 35:35Speaker 1: dot a sign up for free, you can watch the
- 35:38Speaker 1: game for free. As somebody that watched the coverage last week.
- 35:43Speaker 1: It's great because you actually get that in depth coverage
- 35:47Speaker 1: from Staeters Media and it's completely different to watching the
- 35:50Speaker 1: game usually join a regular season. Highly recommend it. Presuming
- 35:53Speaker 1: your boys will be standing up late to watch the
- 35:54Speaker 1: game on Friday morning.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it depends how it depends on my back. It's
- 36:01Speaker 3: gonna be a gonna be a long weekend.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Well, it could be a good weekend, my friend. Indeed,
- 36:06Speaker 1: I'm sure you'll be up with it where you are
- 36:08Speaker 1: watching the game.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Yeah, you go, I'll be.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I'll be sleeping in for work on Friday morning, if
- 36:13Speaker 4: you know what I mean. Well, certainly looking forward to
- 36:17Speaker 4: wherever you're watching the game from. Folks say, please do

- 36:32Speaker 1: into it, and we'll certainly look at that there. So
