- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Of course, I am your host, Clay and with me
- 0:29Speaker 2: like every single week. I am so glad I get
- 0:32Speaker 2: to say that now because you traumatized me for three months,
- 0:40Speaker 2: two months, it felt like three months that you were
- 0:46Speaker 2: not here. But thank you Katie of course for being here.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Katy.
- 0:59Speaker 2: But how been I'm doing pretty good.
- 1:02Speaker 3: You know, yesterday was chaotic. I wanted to quit my job,
- 1:09Speaker 3: not because of my job or anything, but just because
- 1:11Speaker 3: of how chaotic yesterday was. And uh yeah, then today
- 1:16Speaker 3: it was a breeze. It's like a.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Totally been there. I have been there, I've been there.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:24Speaker 2: My week has gone pretty good. I got a new job. Now,
- 1:30Speaker 2: I haven't started said job yet, I will be starting.
- 1:35Speaker 2: The last week of this month is going to be
- 1:37Speaker 2: my first official week at this new job. Looking forward
- 1:42Speaker 2: to it a whole lot. I'm gonna be working for
- 1:46Speaker 2: a comics distribution company, which is very, very fun. I
- 1:50Speaker 2: finally get to say that I'm in the industry of
- 1:53Speaker 2: comics officially. And right before cer Abby shared that now
- 2:02Speaker 2: she has a new job and she will be starting Yeah, yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 2: she has a job next week. So yeah, things are
- 2:09Speaker 2: looking up. It is getting better. Yeah, really glad to
- 2:14Speaker 2: be here. We have And I will say this, Katie,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I sped read the absolute f out of this volume
- 2:24Speaker 2: one because I read a majority of it last week,
- 2:30Speaker 2: and then this morning I was like, did I finish that?
- 2:34Speaker 2: I don't know if I finished that. Let me look
- 2:36Speaker 2: to see how much I need to read. And I
- 2:38Speaker 2: still needed to read like seventy five pages of the
- 2:47Speaker 2: of the volume, seventy five pages per the digital format
- 2:52Speaker 2: of it. Now a lot of that in the back
- 2:56Speaker 2: was the art and stuff. Yeah, so thankfully it was
- 3:00Speaker 2: not a full seventy five pages. But I was like, cool, crap,
- 3:03Speaker 2: and I still had to work at the same time. Thankfully,
- 3:05Speaker 2: there was like nothing to do at work today, so
- 3:07Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I get to read all day
- 3:09Speaker 2: and get paid for it.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Cool, don't get fired, I'll ready Clay.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Nah.
- 3:14Speaker 3: No.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Uh. To be completely honest, my bosses couldn't care less
- 3:20Speaker 2: about what we do at that job. It is absolutely hilarious. Uh,
- 3:24Speaker 2: but anyway, we have.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I so I had read this volume probably a month ago, okay,
- 3:33Speaker 3: when I remembered I had Marvel Unlimited and so like
- 3:39Speaker 3: I knew the content already because I read it pretty
- 3:41Speaker 3: in depth. But then today between five forty five and
- 3:46Speaker 3: six o five, I read all four issues.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Again, nice, very nice. Yeah, And that was the thing
- 3:52Speaker 2: with this is I it was actually a little shorter
- 3:56Speaker 2: than I expected it to be because it is the
- 3:58Speaker 2: first four issues and a small short story at the
- 4:04Speaker 2: very end from Revelations, comparatively to what a normal volume
- 4:09Speaker 2: one is, which is usually the first five or six
- 4:13Speaker 2: issues of a series. So that was nice. It's called
- 4:19Speaker 2: shri inflation. Is that what it's called.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Literally, I think every single volume since probably end of
- 4:27Speaker 3: last year has been four issues.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, that could be kind of nice though, like genuinely,
- 4:37Speaker 2: just with the format that it's in. I think that
- 4:40Speaker 2: is a nice like because in the sense of like
- 4:46Speaker 2: one thing that me and Joe constantly talked about with
- 4:50Speaker 2: Power Rangers, especially how it ended, was because of the
- 4:56Speaker 2: way that it releases, We're like, oh, man, I have
- 4:59Speaker 2: to go read the last four issues because I have
- 5:01Speaker 2: no idea, I can't remember what the heck happened. But
- 5:04Speaker 2: in the trade, having four issues, even if you were
- 5:07Speaker 2: to stop midway through and pick it back up, I
- 5:09Speaker 2: feel like there's enough there or lack thereof to be like, Okay,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I only need to remember this and this because I'm
- 5:18Speaker 2: not that big of a volume to read, So I
- 5:21Speaker 2: think I like that. I really do like that. But
- 5:24Speaker 2: we have, of course, the volume one that we're going
- 5:27Speaker 2: to be talking about this is the twenty twenty three
- 5:30Speaker 2: volume one of the High Republic that we will be
- 5:32Speaker 2: reviewing today as our main topic. But we do have
- 5:35Speaker 2: some news for you guys. Of course, there is much
- 5:41Speaker 2: much words about Sean Levy and his Deadpool and Wolverine,
- 5:48Speaker 2: but he shared some words for us in a little
- 5:52Speaker 2: bit of an update or a quote if you will,
- 5:55Speaker 2: about his upcoming Star Wars film, which I really enjoyed
- 5:59Speaker 2: the effective that he has on how he's going about that,
- 6:03Speaker 2: so that's really really fun. We have, of course, the
- 6:09Speaker 2: Star Wars Outlaws roadmap for the season pass and or
- 6:17Speaker 2: are they calling it Seeds in Pass or are they
- 6:19Speaker 2: calling it I don't know what the heck DLC roadmap
- 6:23Speaker 2: whatever they want to call it these days. And we
- 6:27Speaker 2: are also going to be looking at some dates and
- 6:30Speaker 2: covers for publication and books, so it looks like there's
- 6:34Speaker 2: a full plate for us to talk about. What do
- 6:37Speaker 2: you want to talk about first, Katie.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Let's go ahead and knock Sean Levy's quote out of
- 6:44Speaker 3: the way. So he said, in a couple of different interviews,
- 6:49Speaker 3: I think so this first quote used, so I had
- 7:00Speaker 3: the volume in my headphone, so I was like, gotta
- 7:02Speaker 3: talk louder than it. But even though y'all can't hear that,
- 7:07Speaker 3: there's only so many times that Star Wars movies can
- 7:10Speaker 3: revisit the same section of the timeline. Because I don't
- 7:14Speaker 3: want to do a Star Wars film that is redundant
- 7:16Speaker 3: to others, nor am I interested in doing one that
- 7:19Speaker 3: has to serve another movie. I really wanted to craft
- 7:22Speaker 3: something that felt organic to me, both in tone and
- 7:26Speaker 3: the characters. And then, oh, this was in the same
- 7:31Speaker 3: interview he when asked if he was writing the movie
- 7:37Speaker 3: with any actors in mind, he said, wow, you're asking
- 7:41Speaker 3: the right questions sort of, yes, Please don't ask a
- 7:44Speaker 3: follow up.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I I think that's hilarious because of course there's not
- 7:53Speaker 2: much he can talk about after that. Yeah, But again,
- 7:57Speaker 2: like I said, I like the way that he's approaching
- 8:01Speaker 2: this new film because the very first words in that quote,
- 8:07Speaker 2: there's only so many times that a Star Wars movie
- 8:09Speaker 2: can be revisited in this same section of the timeline.
- 8:13Speaker 2: This is what we have been talking about over and
- 8:17Speaker 2: over and over again, and I think it's what a
- 8:19Speaker 2: lot of fans are like. I think for us looking
- 8:27Speaker 2: at the comics from the era of a New Hope
- 8:30Speaker 2: and Empire strikes back and return the Jedi in all
- 8:34Speaker 2: of that, and still getting stuff like in the Rebels
- 8:38Speaker 2: era when we did, and getting stuff from the Clone
- 8:41Speaker 2: Wars era when we did, Like it's fun to get
- 8:44Speaker 2: those small little tidbits of story. But again, there's going
- 8:49Speaker 2: to be a point where they're going to drill down
- 8:51Speaker 2: for that oil and there's not gonna be anything there.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's gonna be very very dry. And I think Sean
- 8:59Speaker 2: taking perspective of he sees it for what it is. Okay,
- 9:05Speaker 2: we've had nine movies here, We've had a few shows here,
- 9:10Speaker 2: a few shows there. Where is unmarked territory where can
- 9:15Speaker 2: I reach out and do kind of my own thing.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I I love the way he says, I'm not, nor
- 9:26Speaker 2: am I interested in doing something that serves another film. So,
- 9:33Speaker 2: although depending on how you feel about the MCU and
- 9:37Speaker 2: technically his Deadpool and Wolverine Nose spoilers hasn't hit the
- 9:42Speaker 2: two week mark yet, but a lot of people say, Okay,
- 9:47Speaker 2: it's a Marvel movie. They always serve one another after
- 9:52Speaker 2: his movie is already about to hit a billion dollars
- 9:56Speaker 2: this weekend. By the way katiells it, this man should
- 10:01Speaker 2: not be touched with his Star Wars film. I'm like,
- 10:08Speaker 2: it should don't touch it.
- 10:09Speaker 3: It's it's not worth it. It's really let Ryan Reynolds be
- 10:14Speaker 3: in the freaking Star Wars movie.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I love Ryan's quote from today with Jon Favreau because yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I think he's selling something. I personally think, like I
- 10:29Speaker 2: it's it's not Sean's quote, but I do want to
- 10:31Speaker 2: go back and talk about it real quick. Uh So
- 10:35Speaker 2: I believe it was you that shared the quote from
- 10:38Speaker 2: uh from Ryan. Yeah, So, Reynolds did this very heartfelt,
- 10:45Speaker 2: very long post about John Favreau and about like he
- 10:49Speaker 2: wasn't just you know, uh, somebody that he spoke to
- 10:53Speaker 2: and whatnot, but he was an ideas man and building
- 10:59Speaker 2: a universe and like all of these things. Because we
- 11:01Speaker 2: know Jon Favreau, he's the you know, an individual that
- 11:05Speaker 2: created the Mandalorian. Right.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So at the end of the post, he says, I
- 11:10Speaker 2: drop everything to show up for this guy anytime anywhere,
- 11:14Speaker 2: Thank you, John, And I was like, oh, really, anytime anywhere?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Maybe season four of The Mandalorian or or is were
- 11:33Speaker 2: they talking when? When when talking about the ideas man
- 11:36Speaker 2: in Universe building where they you know, maybe John and
- 11:40Speaker 2: Sean got together and was like, Hey, how do I
- 11:44Speaker 2: get the Star Wars movie going? You know, I think
- 11:47Speaker 2: something's cooking. I think something's cooking and it's gonna be awesome.
- 11:53Speaker 3: So do you We're gonna talk about this at the
- 11:56Speaker 3: end of the new section, really, but since we're on
- 11:58Speaker 3: the topic, we might as well go ahead and say it.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Do you think we're going to get a topic for
- 12:03Speaker 3: Sean Levy Star Wars movie? But D twenty three this weekend?
- 12:09Speaker 2: No, I say no, because I'm gonna give you a
- 12:15Speaker 2: Chris Balga answer. D twenty three is TV shows. It's
- 12:22Speaker 2: it's it's it's not. It's not a lot of movies.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Like it's every once in a while you'll hear like
- 12:29Speaker 2: a random thing about a movie. But I think right now,
- 12:34Speaker 2: because Sean Levy is still very early in development of
- 12:39Speaker 2: the movie, and because it is a movie not a
- 12:44Speaker 2: TV show, I think D twenty three is is is
- 12:48Speaker 2: not the place for it, but what you.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Want to capitalize on the success of Deadpool and Wolverine. Yes,
- 12:57Speaker 3: I because clearly he knows his concept.
- 13:02Speaker 2: That's true because his quote did say, let me actually
- 13:07Speaker 2: go back to it. At the very end there was
- 13:11Speaker 2: I really wanted to craft something that felt organic to
- 13:13Speaker 2: both me to me in both tone and characters. So
- 13:18Speaker 2: I think he has already probably found the track of like, hey,
- 13:23Speaker 2: this is where I want to go. How do I do?
- 13:25Speaker 2: That is probably where he's already at. And then of course,
- 13:30Speaker 2: you know, getting all these meetings with Star Wars people,
- 13:33Speaker 2: you know that's probably where it's going to go next.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I don't know, Kitty, that's that's it's a smart thing.
- 13:45Speaker 2: It was. It was smart to already give him the film.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Right from what we know, there is still the two
- 13:56Speaker 2: dates for the Star Wars in twenty twenty six. I
- 14:02Speaker 2: don't think that's shuns. I don't think you can do
- 14:05Speaker 2: right now.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I think it those two films are Mandalorian and Grogu
- 14:09Speaker 3: and then the oh crap, the Miss Marvel director for
- 14:17Speaker 3: the Ray movie. Yes, I think those are those two movies.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Which, by the way, I think we all agree Uh,
- 14:25Speaker 2: because I don't know if it was necessarily a topic
- 14:28Speaker 2: when we did talk about it, but Mandalorian Grogu should
- 14:33Speaker 2: move uh dates now that Robert Downing Junior is going
- 14:39Speaker 2: to be in the Adventures movie. Yeah, but uh, with
- 14:47Speaker 2: the success of Dead Poe Woiverine, I do agree that
- 14:50Speaker 2: you capitalize.
- 14:51Speaker 3: It, especially with the fact that it may hit a
- 14:56Speaker 3: billion dollars this weekend.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I was gonna say, if you make the announcement almost
- 15:00Speaker 2: immediately after the billion dollar mark this weekend, it's it's
- 15:07Speaker 2: it's like serving it on a platter like here you go,
- 15:09Speaker 2: like it's right here, but what do you Okay? So,
- 15:15Speaker 2: so if they do, let's give you a scenario. Now,
- 15:18Speaker 2: if they don't, what can they announce?
- 15:25Speaker 3: I think you say where you're going in the timeline?
- 15:28Speaker 3: So you say which era you're hitting, and if you've
- 15:31Speaker 3: got Ryan Reynolds, if Sean's like, I'm not doing this
- 15:35Speaker 3: without Ryan Reynolds, then you bring Ryan Reynolds on out
- 15:39Speaker 3: for the platform and you say, and this is.
- 15:42Speaker 2: My star now but here Okay. So here's a genuine
- 15:46Speaker 2: question because I don't agree with snell On, but I
- 15:59Speaker 2: think they're might be a little bit of pushback if
- 16:04Speaker 2: Ryan was in the movie, because and I know it's
- 16:09Speaker 2: I know it's silly, and I know it's stupid, but
- 16:13Speaker 2: people look at that. I can't even say that. I
- 16:15Speaker 2: can't even finish my freaking sentence because it's so stupid
- 16:18Speaker 2: and how bipolar he's.
- 16:22Speaker 3: He's Deadpool in a Star Wars movie.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So my my thing is there's so many diverse personalities
- 16:32Speaker 2: and people of like how people think of Star Wars
- 16:36Speaker 2: movie or TV show should feel tonally mm hmm. You
- 16:41Speaker 2: look at the Alcolyte compared to that of uh yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 2: and you're like, okay, those have kind of the same
- 17:00Speaker 2: tones but very different. But then you look at let's
- 17:04Speaker 2: go into some of the animated stuff, because we talked
- 17:09Speaker 2: about it. Even though people think animation is for kids,
- 17:13Speaker 2: it's not always for kids. That can have serious tones.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But people take the idea of, oh, it's for kids,
- 17:19Speaker 2: it's supposed to be silly. Star Wars In's is supposed
- 17:23Speaker 2: to be silly, But then they forget about Jar Jar
- 17:25Speaker 2: Binks and RTD two and C three po and they
- 17:31Speaker 2: forget about the funny parts of Star Wars.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna agree with you, but I'm also going to
- 17:37Speaker 3: raise you and say that Ryan Reynolds is highly respected
- 17:42Speaker 3: by the mega nerd boys because of his respect for
- 17:46Speaker 3: the character of Deadpool. I think that brings a little good.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Will over it. Does I think it does. But I
- 17:54Speaker 2: think that what you said prior is the number one
- 18:00Speaker 2: thing that we're going to be seeing on the internet.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Oh God, Deadpool is joining the Star Wars universe. That's
- 18:07Speaker 2: what we're gonna see. And we're gonna see all the
- 18:09Speaker 2: memes of Deadpool wearing a Jedi robe with a lightsaber,
- 18:13Speaker 2: and it's going to be annoying to me. It's personally
- 18:18Speaker 2: going to be annoying to me.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I'm not saying it's not gonna be annoying, but that's
- 18:22Speaker 3: good pub.
- 18:24Speaker 2: What I said, what was it? As a couple of
- 18:30Speaker 2: weeks ago, I said that I want more genres within
- 18:34Speaker 2: Star Wars. Yep. I think it would be okay to
- 18:40Speaker 2: have a comedy in Star Wars. Like you. Look at
- 18:49Speaker 2: one of my favorite movies in the last five years
- 18:53Speaker 2: is Oh shoot, I forgot the freaking title of the
- 18:58Speaker 2: movie brad Pit. Ryan Reynolds was in the movie the.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Train movie Bullet Train?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Was it? Bullet Train? Is that what it's called? With
- 19:09Speaker 2: with Brett Pitt. It's not called bullet Train. Uh, it's
- 19:13Speaker 2: called something trained. Uh it's called oh it was bullet train.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, okay, so bullet train. You look at bullet
- 19:26Speaker 2: Train that has hilarity all over it, but like the
- 19:36Speaker 2: topic is somewhat serious. There's like badass moments in it,
- 19:43Speaker 2: but it is in some weird way a comedy.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Yeah, so.
- 19:55Speaker 2: You make a Star Wars movie like lit Train, I'm
- 20:02Speaker 2: all for it one hundred.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I don't disagree. But would you put Ryan Reynolds in
- 20:12Speaker 3: an assassin's role with the Deadpool and just go with that?
- 20:19Speaker 2: Like, not necessarily? And and I say more so, like
- 20:25Speaker 2: because a lot of people have said that Ryan Reynolds
- 20:29Speaker 2: hasn't played an actual character in a movie since the Proposal,
- 20:34Speaker 2: and I think that's almost accurate. You could give him
- 20:40Speaker 2: a scoundrel esque role in the Star Wars universe, not
- 20:47Speaker 2: necessarily assassin. I would say, down on his luck. You
- 20:54Speaker 2: know somebody who, like I could very much see him
- 21:01Speaker 2: in like a Honlando, you know Honda. You make him
- 21:09Speaker 2: like Honda. That is perfect for Ryan Reynolds.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't have a live action Honda.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Don't make him Honda, though. I don't. I don't want
- 21:28Speaker 2: him as Honda. No, if we if we ever get
- 21:32Speaker 2: a live action Honda, I still want Jim to be
- 21:38Speaker 2: the voice of Hondo, but somebody else be the body actor.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Like that's how iconic Jim's voice is for Honda.
- 21:47Speaker 3: On that note, so do you want to talk about
- 21:52Speaker 3: the season pass.
- 21:54Speaker 2: For so let me actually bring that up. I believe
- 22:00Speaker 2: did we place that in the Okay? So, the season
- 22:07Speaker 2: pass roadmap for Star Wars Outlaws has been revealed, and
- 22:11Speaker 2: it confirms the appearance from Lando cal Riscian and Hondo.
- 22:16Speaker 2: There's another reason why I brought it up. So there
- 22:19Speaker 2: is going to be two story packs. So the entire
- 22:23Speaker 2: roadmap has launch day Fall twenty twenty four as well
- 22:29Speaker 2: as Spring of twenty twenty five. So the story pack
- 22:36Speaker 2: number one is coming Fall of twenty twenty four. It
- 22:41Speaker 2: is called The wild Card. Kay is hired to infiltrate
- 22:44Speaker 2: a high stake Sabak tournament, but as she crosses pass
- 22:48Speaker 2: with the notorious gambler Lando cal Rissian, she soon learns
- 22:52Speaker 2: that another game is being played. And I just wanted
- 22:56Speaker 2: to reiterate Launch Day stuff that does come out for
- 23:01Speaker 2: a season past. We've already talked about. It's the exclusive
- 23:08Speaker 2: Jaba mission, as well as the character pack for the
- 23:14Speaker 2: Han solo Outfit story Pack number two, which is coming
- 23:18Speaker 2: in twenty twenty five Spring. The Trailblazer's reputation proceeds K
- 23:24Speaker 2: as she runs into a veteran pirate, Hondo, who is
- 23:28Speaker 2: looking to settle old scores with a ruthless gang of pirates.
- 23:34Speaker 2: So I like this. It kind of stays in the
- 23:38Speaker 2: same realm of realm of what we know about K.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Kind of just like the gangs, the smugglers, the pirates
- 23:48Speaker 2: getting into trouble type of thing, legacy characters Landol Cowers,
- 23:55Speaker 2: and I think it's very fun to see him in
- 24:00Speaker 2: things like this. Because it's out in the fall, there
- 24:05Speaker 2: is no actual confirmation date for that Fall twenty twenty
- 24:08Speaker 2: four story pack. I hope it's later Fall of twenty
- 24:14Speaker 2: twenty four because I really want players to get a
- 24:18Speaker 2: good feel about K. I want them to be able
- 24:21Speaker 2: to play and be like, Okay, I'm really enjoying this character,
- 24:24Speaker 2: because I don't want them to release the game and
- 24:28Speaker 2: then like three weeks later, Hey, here's the first story pack.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Lando Calrissian crashes the party and everybody's just you know,
- 24:37Speaker 2: oh my gosh, it's Lando as Lando as Lando. Like,
- 24:40Speaker 2: give your new character time to breathe a little bit.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I think that would be the smartest thing to do.
- 24:46Speaker 3: And for those who are curious about the season pass price,
- 24:52Speaker 3: it is only available for pre order with the Gold
- 24:56Speaker 3: or Ultimate Edition or with Bubisoft Plus Premium. The Gold
- 25:01Speaker 3: Edition of the game is one hundred and ten dollars
- 25:06Speaker 3: and the Ultimate Edition is one hundred and thirty dollars.
- 25:09Speaker 3: The Ultimate Edition also provides some extra some extra digital feature.
- 25:21Speaker 3: The game itself on its own is seventy dollars. What
- 25:26Speaker 3: do you think about these prices?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Sixty nine is the newer price for new gen consoles that,
- 25:32Speaker 2: of course, is the Xbox One, Xbox Series XPS five
- 25:36Speaker 2: type of gaming consoles. I have a small problem with
- 25:41Speaker 2: it because the reason why a normal price back in
- 25:45Speaker 2: the day was fifty nine to ninety nine was due
- 25:49Speaker 2: to the fact that these were physical copies of a
- 25:51Speaker 2: game that were being shipped everywhere in the world. That
- 25:57Speaker 2: is no longer the case. For companies to be having
- 26:03Speaker 2: a price point of sixty nine ninety nine on a
- 26:06Speaker 2: digital copy of a game is absolutely stupid.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You're so stupid. You don't own the game if it's
- 26:15Speaker 3: a digital copy exactly.
- 26:18Speaker 2: And the really stupid thing when it comes to both
- 26:22Speaker 2: Xbox and PlayStation, when you turn on your Xbox for
- 26:25Speaker 2: the very first time, and I'm pretty sure the licensing
- 26:27Speaker 2: agreement has changed recently and so you'll have to like
- 26:31Speaker 2: press the button. Says that. I agree. It says at
- 26:34Speaker 2: the very bottom of that agreement that you do not
- 26:38Speaker 2: own any games that you purchase from the PlayStation or
- 26:41Speaker 2: Xbox store. This is a problem. There was a time
- 26:48Speaker 2: when they first started doing digital games where they were cheaper,
- 26:53Speaker 2: and then some genius was like, hey, we could just
- 26:57Speaker 2: sell it for the same price. Nobody's gonna stop us.
- 27:01Speaker 2: And I think it's a very, very stupid thing. These
- 27:07Speaker 2: massive companies do not share that profit with the developers whatsoever.
- 27:13Speaker 2: They they give that money to the company that is it.
- 27:18Speaker 2: The creators of this game, the artists, all of that.
- 27:21Speaker 2: They only see a small portion of what they worked
- 27:24Speaker 2: on via when they clocked in and when they clocked out.
- 27:27Speaker 2: There is no residuals on these things people. It's a
- 27:30Speaker 2: big problem in the industry. And they would still make
- 27:35Speaker 2: millions upon millions of dollars if they sold it at
- 27:39Speaker 2: a lower price point. You look at games recently, although
- 27:43Speaker 2: it is now considered a dead game, Hell Divers two
- 27:46Speaker 2: came out for forty dollars like three months ago, and
- 27:51Speaker 2: it just blew up all over the world. Now, of course,
- 27:56Speaker 2: PlayStation screwed up with some really stupid hey you have
- 28:00Speaker 2: to sign into a PlayStation, you know, account for that
- 28:03Speaker 2: type of thing, and it caused a whole big drama.
- 28:06Speaker 2: But selling a very good game at forty dollars, they
- 28:11Speaker 2: made so much freaking money. You can do the exact
- 28:15Speaker 2: same thing with any Triple A game. Selling your season
- 28:21Speaker 2: pass or battle pass or whatever for a solid fifteen dollars,
- 28:27Speaker 2: you're making bank. But these people are so goddamn greedy
- 28:32Speaker 2: that they're like, oh, the only way we can make
- 28:34Speaker 2: significant amounts of money is if we sell everything at
- 28:36Speaker 2: one hundred dollars plus. That's so dumb. It's already a
- 28:42Speaker 2: giant ip that brings in billions of dollars for you.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Why sell it at such a high rate.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me,
- 28:54Speaker 3: but people are gonna buy it still, So.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I with with Outlaws. I am buying the base game,
- 29:03Speaker 2: and I would recommend this to everybody. By the base game.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Then you wait, there will be a summer sale, a
- 29:14Speaker 2: Christmas sale, a New Year's sale, a spring sale on
- 29:20Speaker 2: the season pass, and then eventually that just gets reduced
- 29:27Speaker 2: in price over time. Yeah, you might have a little
- 29:30Speaker 2: bit of quote unquote fomo from playing it right now,
- 29:36Speaker 2: but just get the main game. Enjoy the game now.
- 29:41Speaker 2: I've actually started to see a little bit of gameplay
- 29:44Speaker 2: on TikTok from the people who were able to get
- 29:47Speaker 2: the game early that we talked about last week. It
- 29:50Speaker 2: looks fun, and that is just people playing the demo
- 29:55Speaker 2: or you know how many hours they got to play.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I think it was like a total of twenty four
- 30:00Speaker 2: forty eight hours. Like, just go buy the game at
- 30:04Speaker 2: the cheapest price point as you can for people who
- 30:07Speaker 2: have PC, Wait until new wait until New Egg has
- 30:11Speaker 2: like a discount code for new games they usually do,
- 30:14Speaker 2: and it drops to like forty nine fifty nine nine
- 30:18Speaker 2: older you know, older game prices. This is what I recommend,
- 30:22Speaker 2: so that way we're not breaking the bank for games.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Because I just I just saw TikTok about this recently.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Is that there's so many of these developers and companies
- 30:33Speaker 2: that are laying off hundreds of not thousands of people
- 30:38Speaker 2: for their company because they can't quote unquote keep up
- 30:42Speaker 2: to date with games like Fortnite that are a massive
- 30:47Speaker 2: multiplayer game that are constantly bringing out content. I don't
- 30:51Speaker 2: need that type of game. I need one singular story,
- 30:55Speaker 2: a small game that looks beautiful, that has an amazing
- 30:59Speaker 2: story that was created with the utmost respect of whatever
- 31:04Speaker 2: IP that it is, and I guarantee it'll make money.
- 31:10Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, y'all, we are going to hit our
- 31:13Speaker 5: first ad break and we will be right back in
- 31:16Speaker 5: three two one.
- 31:19Speaker 3: All right. So the next topic that we have, it
- 31:24Speaker 3: kind of goes well, no, not really. So we have
- 31:28Speaker 3: some guest announcements for Star Wars Celebration Japan, which is
- 31:33Speaker 3: taking place April eighteenth through the twentieth, twenty twenty five
- 31:37Speaker 3: in Japan. And now the only reason I wanted to
- 31:41Speaker 3: bring this up. We've got Daniel.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Logan who was Young Poblot. We have Manny Jacente Kimer
- 31:49Speaker 4: and the Stranger obviously, and then we have Alan tudic
- 31:53Speaker 4: as K two sl So do you think we're getting
- 31:57Speaker 4: confirmation K two so is going to be an end
- 32:00Speaker 4: or two with this appearance.
- 32:02Speaker 2: I think that it is a possibility. We know that
- 32:09Speaker 2: via Rebels they are working together from the very beginning,
- 32:15Speaker 2: so they have to then yeah sorry sorry uh in
- 32:20Speaker 2: Rogue one, sorry uh. We know that in the beginning
- 32:23Speaker 2: of Rogue one they are working together their partners. So
- 32:29Speaker 2: seeing this, I get a little excited. I am kind
- 32:35Speaker 2: of back and forth on Alan Tutic. It's really weird.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Sometimes I like his performances in movies. Sometimes I don't.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I didn't actually realize until the other day how many
- 32:45Speaker 2: voices he's played for Disney, like even some of the
- 32:50Speaker 2: characters that I didn't even know were him. I was like,
- 32:53Speaker 2: holy crap. So yeah, I like uh kick. So I'm
- 33:02Speaker 2: okay with with seeing him in and Or season two.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I think it'll bring a little bit of flavor something
- 33:08Speaker 2: we didn't get h well, Like I was saying, the
- 33:12Speaker 2: little bit of humor that Star Wars always kind of
- 33:15Speaker 2: drizzles in and Or. Season one was very heavy, very heavy,
- 33:23Speaker 2: The humor was very light. There was just kind of
- 33:26Speaker 2: like tongue in cheek type of humor in season one.
- 33:30Speaker 2: With Alentutic coming in, possibly as Ktoso, I think that
- 33:37Speaker 2: we could be seeing a little bit more of like, hey,
- 33:40Speaker 2: we can be lighthearted, but it is still a serious moment.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:47Speaker 3: All right, So the next thing we have on our docket,
- 33:52Speaker 3: we got some sneak peeks at a Wave twelve of
- 33:57Speaker 3: the Essential Legends collection. Can you believe we've had twelve waves?
- 34:01Speaker 3: Or we will have had twelve waves as of February fourth,
- 34:05Speaker 3: twenty five.
- 34:06Speaker 2: It's insane how quickly these guys are just pushing these out.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Yep. One of the novels involved is The Force Unleashed
- 34:21Speaker 3: two by Sean Williams, and this is pretty badass our work,
- 34:27Speaker 3: I have to say.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah. So my question is where was the Force Unleashed one?
- 34:34Speaker 2: I don't remember the Forced Unleash being a part of
- 34:40Speaker 2: whatever wave unless the Force Unleash was never an official
- 34:47Speaker 2: release on Legends and only the Force Unleashed two.
- 34:53Speaker 3: No, the Force Unleashed is is? Did get made into
- 34:59Speaker 3: a book?
- 35:00Speaker 2: Ok?
- 35:00Speaker 4: Look?
- 35:01Speaker 3: Oh my gosh? So yeah, so the Force Unleashed was
- 35:09Speaker 3: released January first, two thousand and nine. Did they really?
- 35:13Speaker 3: I thought I saw that they had an Essential Legends
- 35:22Speaker 3: did they? Oh? Yeah, Wave eleven? Here we go.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Right before this one?
- 35:31Speaker 3: Yes, So November fifth is the release date for this one.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Let me, drag it over here. Oh it's not gonna
- 35:40Speaker 3: switch it, is it? Okay? Hand? Yeah, because you can
- 35:49Speaker 3: do window or you can do scream. And so so
- 35:54Speaker 3: this is Wave eleven, which is out November fifth. So
- 35:57Speaker 3: this is the Han Solo Adventures, Solo Command, and then
- 36:02Speaker 3: The Force Unleashed.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I love the cover for Force Unleashed, and I love
- 36:10Speaker 2: the cover for The Force Unleashed too. Uh, this art
- 36:13Speaker 2: is absolutely amazing. What is this? Scoundrels?
- 36:22Speaker 3: So yes, Scoundrels is actually a book by Timothy Zahn
- 36:29Speaker 3: And I can't remember exactly what he said, but he
- 36:33Speaker 3: basically wanted to write so because he he wanted to
- 36:37Speaker 3: write like a like a pre like in the time
- 36:44Speaker 3: space the nineteen years before our New Hope. He wanted
- 36:48Speaker 3: to write a book about Han Solo and Chewy. So
- 36:51Speaker 3: he wrote this book, I take It takes Place.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I love the cover colors pop. You know, there's characters
- 37:06Speaker 2: that I clearly don't know here that got me interested.
- 37:10Speaker 2: It's like, okay, who are these people? Like? It has
- 37:13Speaker 2: everything that you need to judge a book by its cover,
- 37:18Speaker 2: and I like, I like. I even like the title Scoundrels.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Yeah no, And I read part of it. I think
- 37:27Speaker 3: I was reading it right in the middle of college,
- 37:29Speaker 3: so I was like, I had to stop in the
- 37:32Speaker 3: middle of it. It's a great book from what I
- 37:35Speaker 3: had read and what I remember, So I'm definitely going
- 37:40Speaker 3: to be picking up Scoundrels. And I think I have
- 37:43Speaker 3: Force Unleashed pre ordered, so I'll definitely have Force Unleashed
- 37:46Speaker 3: too pre ordered as well. Have not read either of
- 37:49Speaker 3: those books, and of course never played the game, but
- 37:53Speaker 3: the covers are cool.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I highly recommend. Oh, I don't even know if you
- 38:00Speaker 2: can now. Uh so watch well no so so last week?
- 38:05Speaker 2: Uh the Xbox store, the Xbox three sixty store, should
- 38:10Speaker 2: I say shut down for good? So, I don't know.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Do you guys have an Xbox or a PlayStation I
- 38:19Speaker 2: have a.
- 38:19Speaker 3: PS four, Matt has Xbox one.
- 38:22Speaker 2: An Xbox one, okay, so I don't know if he's
- 38:25Speaker 2: able to get it, and I don't know if it's
- 38:28Speaker 2: been ported to the PlayStation four. I know it's on
- 38:31Speaker 2: the PlayStation three. If there is ever a chance for
- 38:37Speaker 2: you guys to pick it up, it might even be
- 38:40Speaker 2: on the switch. It is a lot of fun. That's
- 38:46Speaker 2: why I've heard the idea of you being the basically
- 38:54Speaker 2: Apprentice to Darth Vader. It has an amazing cut scene
- 38:58Speaker 2: in the very beginning where Darth Vader like finds the
- 39:05Speaker 2: main character and just getting all into it. It's it's
- 39:10Speaker 2: basically the mission to like kill the surviving Jedi, is
- 39:15Speaker 2: what it is.
- 39:15Speaker 3: It's like the Inquisitor, Yeah, it's it's basically the Inquisitor
- 39:19Speaker 3: idea before the Inquisitors were an idea.
- 39:23Speaker 2: So yeah, it's a lot of fun. I highly recommend it.
- 39:28Speaker 2: I own both of them on PC, have not gotten
- 39:32Speaker 2: a chance to sit down and play them, but I
- 39:35Speaker 2: know it's like on a list of things to do
- 39:37Speaker 2: with them the next year, just because those games were
- 39:40Speaker 2: so fun. So I highly recommend it.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Awesome. All right, So the last thing that we have
- 39:52Speaker 3: to talk about is release dates. So Star Wars the
- 39:58Speaker 3: Higher Republic Tempest, which is the audio drama by Kat
- 40:02Speaker 3: and Scott that is out in December of this year.
- 40:08Speaker 3: It has a script release date for May thirteenth to
- 40:11Speaker 3: twenty twenty five, so it's a little bit later than
- 40:14Speaker 3: some of the other script books have been, but at
- 40:16Speaker 3: least it's out before the end, I guess. So that's
- 40:25Speaker 3: kind of like a little disappointing, but also like it
- 40:28Speaker 3: is what it is. And then The Women of the
- 40:34Speaker 3: Galaxy Book by Amy Ratcliffe. This book came out, i
- 40:38Speaker 3: want to say, like twenty eighteen, and it's basically just
- 40:46Speaker 3: it's kind of got all of the women of the
- 40:48Speaker 3: Galaxy and like kind of tells you a little bit
- 40:53Speaker 3: about them with like little bios. But then it's got
- 40:56Speaker 3: like different pictures from like the shows, and I think
- 40:58Speaker 3: there's even like some original artwork involved. But this book
- 41:03Speaker 3: is being transitioned to a paperback and it's going to
- 41:10Speaker 3: be updated and have an expanded edition in the paperback format,
- 41:16Speaker 3: so it's going to include the women from the Mandalorian Ahsoka,
- 41:21Speaker 3: the Acolyte, as well as the higher public, Jedi Fallen
- 41:24Speaker 3: Order and more. So this book is out April twenty ninth,
- 41:29Speaker 3: twenty twenty five. And for me, I'm always like this
- 41:35Speaker 3: is why I'm not like super big into reference books.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Like I have like timelines and everything over there obviously,
- 41:42Speaker 3: but reference books, especially in a universe that's always expanding,
- 41:46Speaker 3: You've always got to go back and add more or
- 41:49Speaker 3: you've got to do a few auditions, and it's like
- 41:55Speaker 3: it's definitely a little frustrating to see when you're like, oh,
- 41:57Speaker 3: I have this book now, but then like, oh, there's
- 42:01Speaker 3: more like.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Which I think.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I love that we've gotten more characters. Don't get me wrong,
- 42:06Speaker 3: I love that, But.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Would it be smarter to do this in a format
- 42:13Speaker 2: that's like Women of Star Wars and do like each
- 42:18Speaker 2: era of Star Wars, Like I think you have.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Enough content for that right now. That's the thing, okay,
- 42:29Speaker 3: especially like in like some of the earlier time frame,
- 42:33Speaker 3: Like yes, I know Princess Leah is the hero of
- 42:36Speaker 3: Star Wars according to George Lucas. Yeah, but there's also
- 42:40Speaker 3: not a lot of female characters in the original trilogy.
- 42:44Speaker 2: That's also true. Yeah, So.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Like I get it, and like from what I've looked
- 42:51Speaker 3: at this book in book source, I just didn't have
- 42:54Speaker 3: enough room for it at the time, and then honestly
- 42:56Speaker 3: I kind of forgot about it. And Amy Rotcliffe is incredible,
- 43:02Speaker 3: Like I love work that she's done in like other
- 43:05Speaker 3: reference books, like she did like the Art of Galaxies Edge.
- 43:11Speaker 3: But it's just like em like this is a Yeah,
- 43:16Speaker 3: I don't know how to feel about it, but take
- 43:19Speaker 3: into reference books.
- 43:20Speaker 2: The the cover itself by Jin Bartel would one hundred
- 43:29Speaker 2: percent make it worth it for me. I love her art,
- 43:32Speaker 2: so seeing that that ray cover from Jen is awesome.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Love that. But yeah, I think it's very silly. It
- 43:42Speaker 2: goes down to the conversation that we were having about
- 43:44Speaker 2: the encyclopedia, right, the High Republican Encyclopedia. It's like, oh,
- 43:49Speaker 2: you know for a fact that Wave three is coming out,
- 43:52Speaker 2: but he decided to put this one out and night
- 43:54Speaker 2: now you know. So, Uh, it's it's gonna be an
- 43:57Speaker 2: ongoing battle for a IP that is still continuously going.
- 44:01Speaker 2: So it is what it is. And I will say
- 44:05Speaker 2: or more of a question, more so than saying, I
- 44:08Speaker 2: want to go back to, uh, Tempest Breaker, How big
- 44:13Speaker 2: do you think this bad boy is gonna be? Because
- 44:16Speaker 2: if you remember, we had so the two script books
- 44:21Speaker 2: that we have for the High Republic is The Tempest
- 44:24Speaker 2: Runner and the Battle of Jenna.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Yes, so.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Tempest Runner was a thick, thick book. I remember getting
- 44:38Speaker 2: it at Target. I took a picture of it on
- 44:41Speaker 2: my steering wheel. I still remember sending it to you.
- 44:44Speaker 2: It was a big boy. Bettle of Jedda wasn't that big?
- 44:49Speaker 2: It was? It was relatively, you know, comparatively, I don't
- 44:54Speaker 2: think it was that much bigger than Tempest Runner. I
- 44:56Speaker 2: don't know.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I'm looking at them on my shelf and they look
- 44:58Speaker 3: about the same.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Really my my shelf. I only see the side of
- 45:03Speaker 2: my shelf. It's facing the other wall.
- 45:15Speaker 3: So Battle of Jetta fits in it.
- 45:17Speaker 2: But wow, they are pretty close. I I don't know,
- 45:22Speaker 2: like I just remember picking up Tempest Runner in Target
- 45:28Speaker 2: and thinking, holy crap, this thing is huge. Oh yeah,
- 45:34Speaker 2: So I I'm so glad these do come out as
- 45:41Speaker 2: audio dramas first, and.
- 45:45Speaker 3: This is Dooku Jedi Lost comparatively.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, see that is so much bigger than
- 45:53Speaker 2: that one. So I I'm gonna get it no matter what. Uh,
- 45:59Speaker 2: it's really enjoyable. Uh, these audio dramas, Yes, And I
- 46:06Speaker 2: will say, if you're not caught up with comics and
- 46:10Speaker 2: everything else, we're gonna be talking about Volume one. This
- 46:13Speaker 2: cover kind of like spoils what we're going to be seeing,
- 46:20Speaker 2: you know. Uh yeah, so uh looking forward to it.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I think Cavin Scott has done an amazing job in
- 46:29Speaker 2: the High Republic so far.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Uh.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Surprisingly not a huge fan of his DC stuff that
- 46:33Speaker 2: he's written, but you know, I really love High Republic stuff,
- 46:37Speaker 2: so I know he's going to do a great job here,
- 46:39Speaker 2: But what did you What did you say?
- 46:50Speaker 3: I said, he found his spot.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Oh, he found his spot, like you kind of broke out,
- 46:55Speaker 2: so I I I.
- 47:02Speaker 3: So, before we move on to the comic, do you
- 47:06Speaker 3: have any predictions for D twenty three about.
- 47:08Speaker 2: What we're going to get? Yes, D twenty three predictions.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I am going to go ahead and be the first
- 47:14Speaker 2: to say it, Ahsoka season two confirmation with concept art,
- 47:25Speaker 2: we're gonna I don't think we're going to see any footage.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Clearly they haven't done anything yet. Now one thing that
- 47:39Speaker 2: I think they're going to do, and I don't know
- 47:42Speaker 2: if you should do it at your presentation at D
- 47:44Speaker 2: twenty three.
- 47:46Speaker 3: But replacement.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I think they're going to announce the Baalen replacement at
- 47:51Speaker 2: D twenty three.
- 47:52Speaker 3: I'm thinking that too. Yeah, I there's got to be
- 47:58Speaker 3: a point where you do make the announcement and you don't.
- 48:02Speaker 3: You don't necessarily want to, like cause a bunch of fanfare,
- 48:05Speaker 3: but you also don't want people to speculate. In my opinion, yeah,
- 48:10Speaker 3: speculating a recasting after somebody's pasted is just not good.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Mojo Jojo. In my opinion, it just feels icky.
- 48:20Speaker 2: We talked about it. We're like, you know, there could
- 48:23Speaker 2: be ways that you kind of just go without it.
- 48:25Speaker 2: There's ways that you kind of swerve around it. It
- 48:28Speaker 2: just feels weird, And I think that they should just
- 48:31Speaker 2: get ahead of it and say, hey, this is happening,
- 48:34Speaker 2: this is what we're doing boom, and they just make
- 48:36Speaker 2: the announcement right then in there.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Yeah. I think that's the smartest movie you can do.
- 48:44Speaker 3: I think, especially with the fact that going to my prediction,
- 48:49Speaker 3: I think with the fact that you've got many coming
- 48:51Speaker 3: in for Q and A about the Stranger and what
- 48:55Speaker 3: is in store for the Stranger, I think you've got
- 48:58Speaker 3: an accolade season two announcement too.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that there was enough positive reaction to
- 49:11Speaker 2: that last two episodes, uh, And there was so much
- 49:16Speaker 2: conversation that week over that over the finale, speculation of
- 49:22Speaker 2: what's gonna come the novels generated conversation as well as
- 49:27Speaker 2: as far as the announcement during Santio Comic Con. I
- 49:30Speaker 2: think this is the perfect time just say, hey, season
- 49:33Speaker 2: two is happening. Here we go another prediction, uh season
- 49:42Speaker 2: two footage. I think we we we get a trailer
- 49:45Speaker 2: for and or season two. But where I was gonna go,
- 49:50Speaker 2: is I think we get yet another season of Visions
- 49:54Speaker 2: Vision season three announcement.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I definitely see that.
- 50:01Speaker 2: But here's here's what I'm gonna.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Ask, uh huh.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Where in the world do we get season three from?
- 50:17Speaker 3: Well, they went global in the last season, so I
- 50:20Speaker 3: feel like you could go back and go to multiple
- 50:25Speaker 3: studios again, like all over the world. But I think
- 50:30Speaker 3: with the fact that you have Star Wars celebration in Japan,
- 50:35Speaker 3: I think you need to highlight more Japanese studios and
- 50:42Speaker 3: that you can capitalize with interviews.
- 50:45Speaker 2: I will go as far as because of celebration at Japan,
- 50:50Speaker 2: I get I think we get a sequel.
- 50:54Speaker 3: That's what I was also going to say, you get
- 50:56Speaker 3: some sequels involved, especially with how happy that were at
- 51:01Speaker 3: some of the performances and how some of the episodes
- 51:05Speaker 3: are still talked about to this day. I think sequels
- 51:08Speaker 3: is a big thing you could tackle for Vision season three.
- 51:15Speaker 3: I'm also thinking we get we finally get a public
- 51:20Speaker 3: Skeleton crew trailer.
- 51:23Speaker 2: I would hope, so we finally got we finally got
- 51:31Speaker 2: an official announcement on the date right with with uh
- 51:40Speaker 2: interview last week, we're with actual still photos, So I
- 51:47Speaker 2: I I would hope that we finally get something shown
- 51:51Speaker 2: to the public with that, with the actual date attached
- 51:55Speaker 2: to that trailer, I think is what's going to be shown.
- 51:59Speaker 3: And I'm still happy that's a that's a Tuesday premiere,
- 52:02Speaker 3: Like that's big for me.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Yeah, oh real quick? Uh can you hear Amberlyn at all?
- 52:14Speaker 2: Did you hear her crying? Okay? Because I just got
- 52:16Speaker 2: a text saying tell Katie, I said, sorry, she's so tired.
- 52:21Speaker 2: She has been fighting going down to sleep for like
- 52:24Speaker 2: the past month, and we don't know what to do.
- 52:27Speaker 2: So we're just like, okay, in your crib.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Bye, let's me during the day with naps right now?
- 52:39Speaker 2: Man, So okay, So skelt Crew and Andorly act.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Like here here's the thought the Path animated.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Show animated okay, So okay, so we know that assage
- 53:02Speaker 2: is Ventriss's voice actress said that there is more to come.
- 53:10Speaker 2: We immediately go to the idea of the Path because
- 53:14Speaker 2: of course we know that it's kind of the only
- 53:21Speaker 2: way that story can go quote unquote you know, question mark,
- 53:30Speaker 2: but animated is a very interesting I So so we
- 53:37Speaker 2: we quote unquote know that a Star Wars animated series
- 53:43Speaker 2: is in the works. You know, it's you know, it
- 53:48Speaker 2: was funny when when we first talked about it. I
- 53:52Speaker 2: like it. I like the idea of another animated project.
- 53:58Speaker 2: I think that with the surprise hit that bad Batch
- 54:06Speaker 2: was with season three, I think you do go to
- 54:13Speaker 2: what is next? And I think what is next is
- 54:18Speaker 2: that era of the path and focusing on as Sage
- 54:23Speaker 2: ventterest is going to be very interesting. Well that's the thing.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Do you think it's going to focus on Assage or
- 54:33Speaker 2: do we get another aspect of it? If this is
- 54:38Speaker 2: something that is announced.
- 54:42Speaker 3: I think you've got to focus on a Sage. I
- 54:44Speaker 3: think you've made enough announcements and putting her in. I
- 54:50Speaker 3: think you gotta do it.
- 54:51Speaker 5: We're gonna go into our second ad break and we'll
- 54:55Speaker 5: be right back.
- 54:57Speaker 2: All right, all right, okay, Now we talked about things
- 55:00Speaker 2: that are very realistic. For d twenty three, Katie, I
- 55:06Speaker 2: need one most outrageous prediction so that way when it
- 55:13Speaker 2: does come true, we're like, holy shit, Katie got it.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Like I need one of the most out there announcements.
- 55:21Speaker 2: For lucasfilm three.
- 55:33Speaker 3: John Boye got back for the Rain movie.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Wow you went there, hm, So I'm looking something up
- 55:53Speaker 2: real quick to see if it's not already something that
- 55:59Speaker 2: is going going on, because I feel like it was
- 56:03Speaker 2: something that was pitched or probably in conversation with I
- 56:12Speaker 2: have two out there announcements. My first one Indiana Jones
- 56:23Speaker 2: series Disney Plus it's Lucasfilm. So I'm gonna throw that
- 56:31Speaker 2: out there again, way out there. I don't think it's
- 56:35Speaker 2: gonna happen, but I'm just throwing it out there just
- 56:37Speaker 2: in case. And number two because again, probably never gonna happen,
- 56:42Speaker 2: because there is so many statements and evidence that we
- 56:49Speaker 2: don't cross the streams when it comes to the same
- 56:56Speaker 2: era of content. When it comes to Star Wars, I'm
- 57:00Speaker 2: saying we're going to get a live action calcastis something
- 57:07Speaker 2: on Disney Plus. That's that's my most out there story
- 57:12Speaker 2: or prediction because again I think, oh, go ahead.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Do you think were you thinking timeline wise, like the
- 57:19Speaker 3: nineteen year period or like addition to like Mando time frame.
- 57:25Speaker 2: I could see it being I don't want it to
- 57:31Speaker 2: be the Liner, but I can see it being the
- 57:33Speaker 2: Lner just because it's the Mandalian Well, because we've heard.
- 57:36Speaker 3: That there's a third game that they wanted to close
- 57:39Speaker 3: out a trilogy, A trilogy again Jedi Fallen Order games. Yes,
- 57:45Speaker 3: So I don't think you would get nineteen year time frame.
- 57:53Speaker 2: I don't think the Empire time frame is necessarily like
- 57:57Speaker 2: something that will and because let's let's see here we
- 58:06Speaker 2: it was nineteen years after and then the second one
- 58:12Speaker 2: was I think a year after that, so we're still
- 58:18Speaker 2: in the time frame of right before Mandalorian. So I
- 58:26Speaker 2: think I think you gotta sucks. But yeah, I'll go
- 58:34Speaker 2: I'll go ahead and say it. I'm gonna go ahead
- 58:36Speaker 2: and say that we get you know what, it'll piggyback
- 58:45Speaker 2: Alcestis Ahsoka season two.
- 58:50Speaker 3: Oh, I could dig it.
- 58:54Speaker 2: I think that works right timeline wise, Yeah, I think
- 59:01Speaker 2: I can dig it. Yeah, I'm I'm I think it
- 59:05Speaker 2: would be really cool for the announcement, like you see,
- 59:08Speaker 2: like the Balin announcement, you see you know whatever concept help, Yeah,
- 59:14Speaker 2: and we see a conversation about like, okay, you know
- 59:17Speaker 2: this is the the links of what they're doing and
- 59:20Speaker 2: going this far to do this or whatever. And well,
- 59:24Speaker 2: now that Ahsoka is stuck, you know in a different galaxy,
- 59:28Speaker 2: who's gonna help Ezra? Oh? Well, you know about being
- 59:32Speaker 2: babom alcasts makes sense interesting.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, well I think that brings us to
- 59:42Speaker 3: the end of productions.
- 59:44Speaker 5: Yes, and we're about to jump into our third ad, y'all.
- 59:49Speaker 3: We promise we'll be right back, we promise. Let's talk
- 59:52Speaker 3: about this comic, which, by the way, so I have
- 59:56Speaker 3: read through issue six, because the first six issues is
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: what's available on Marvel Limited. However, I'm going to keep
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: it strictly to issues one through four, plus the Revelations story,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: which honestly I forgot about, so I didn't read that,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: but I did read it when it came out last year.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: It was a very small I think like four pages,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: so I could see how and why you would forget
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: about it. It's fine.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: So yeah, Issue ten came out today for the Higher
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Republic series, so we're covering this issue so we can
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: cover volume two when it comes out I believe next month,
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: I think. So. Yeah, So spoilers four issues one through four.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: If you are interested in reading reviews for current comic issues,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: I highly recommend Minock Manners reviews. Ryan does a great
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: job with his comic reviews, so he's already got his
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: review out for issue number ten today. So with that,
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: Clay lead us in the comic discussion.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: Yes, so we start, and I forgot that I had
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: actually attempted to follow these issues as they were actually releasing.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: So when I started reading this again, I was like,
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: I've already read this. I already know this. Skip the
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: first two issues, read issue three. But we actually open
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: up with I am forgetting her name Eve, Yes, kiev uh,
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: and she is remembering the events of what happened to
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Starlight Beacon. She's remembering how her master was basically being
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: torn apart and pulled by the nameless, remembering the fear,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: the chaos, all of these different things. And I believe
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: they are landing on do you remember what planet they
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: were actually landing on? Baylum is the planet with the
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: with the Hut. And I believe this is the cousin
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: or brother.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Sing some sibling, Yes, because they call the Hut from
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Wave one high Republic their history.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: So yes, it is a callback to that later on
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: in this volume, which I thought was a very nice connection.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: But this is amidst the chaos of of course, the
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: oculation zones. There is a basically territory war happening on
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: the you know, republic side for what will eventually become
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Nighthill Space and like all of these, all of the
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: chaos that we already know is happening is of course
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: happening during these periods of this four issue volume one,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: but we get to see that Kiev is h goes
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: down and is I forgot what their actual mission was though,
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: do you remember Their goal.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Is to push back and like reclaim planets, Yeah, that
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: are being taken over by the nie Hill or being
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: attacked by the night Hill and then the Hut space.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: So the Huts have kind of taken the chaos that's
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: happening in the Republic and are like trying to expand
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: their territory.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: And one of the newer spaces and or characters that
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: we get to see in this third way are the
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Children of the Nihill, Right, is that what they're called.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Is the Children of the Storm.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Children of the Storm, nothing nil, the Children of the Storm.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: This kind of freaked me out when I first saw it. Yeah,
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: we hadn't seen a character like this in the novels
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: at all. This felt the most comic bookie out of
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: everything that is happening in this book. Of course, you
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: know it is Star Wars whatever. They've made a giant
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: name for themselves as comics anyway, but this felt the
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: most like kind of out there. This individual like has
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: like tentacle arms, like it's some sort of me.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: He's kind of like like, we know there's an evil
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: scientist who is like manipulating the nameless and everything. It
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: looks like this guy was mutated with the drink gear
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: like he has.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: That's exactly what I was gonna say is it reminds
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: me very much of the dream Gear. And we get
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: to see Sarah and Terrek. Of course they are still
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: with Kiev helping out planet side and in space having
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: a little firefight here, but eventually we see that Kiev
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: gets captured by the One and Only Lorna.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: D l D is also just a clarification, so it
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: is the Children of the Storm, and so the guy
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: that we see with the drineer looking arm is a
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: child of the Storm and he was. They were experimented
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: on by Baron Bullen who's in later, and they were
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: former Force sensitives that the Baron experimented on. They were
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Jedi hunters who captured Force users for Bulan to continue
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: to perform experiments on.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: And I believe Bulan is the same character that is
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: one of the like general enforcers for.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like the lead scientist. He was also I
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: think he was also in phase or waved Phase two
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: of the Higher Public as one of the children in
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: the Path.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Yes, so yeah. Also the comic draws Lorna Dye so methically, like,
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: oh yeah.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: I love it. I love it. Areo in detO did
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: the first issue and then Jim Toe is the second, third,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: and fourth penciler for those issues. But yeah, she is crazy.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: I think it's absolutely insane, just the way that her
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: character going like full circle and like being on her
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: own and all of this other stuff. I just love
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: the evolution of what Lorna d has become. But being
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: able to see her in comics again, I'm just like,
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: oh yeah, but this second issue, I want to ask you,
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: how did you feel about Like I think this is
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: kind of where we start to see because later on,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: even in this volume, Lorna d does like make a
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: comment on the fact that Keieth like she's taking off
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: the gloves. She's like, hey, like yes, like a little
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: bit of a spoiler for our conversation later on, But
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Keith says like, yeah, we may be like Jedi and
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: we serve to like be peaceful and all these other things,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: but there's a freaking war going on right now. Like, yeah,
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: the gloves are off. So how did you feel?
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I mean, we know she leaves the Jedi Order at
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: some point, so I believe she's really struggling with that aspect,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: especially in all the flashbacks that we get from every
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: single one. So we get the flashback to like her
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: being separated with Skiar in issue one, and then her
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: Padawan trials and then like the Fire and I think
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: it's issue three, but just all these different flashbacks kind
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: of telling her story. Cavin Scott is doing an incredible
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: job with those aspects, just adding more characterization to Kiev
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: as we go along and just seeing not the degeneration
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: of her well yeah, I think it is actually the
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: degeneration of her spirit as a Jedi. First the Jedi
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: Night that we get in High Republic twenty twenty one,
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: and now this with her in this run as a
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: Jedi Master, Like it's just very artful. I think.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so you you spoke on a point that I
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: did want to bring up because of the later conversation
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: that we're going to be having about heave. Do we
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: see her leave at the end of Way three.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's going to be in the next
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: run of the Marvel High Republic that starts back up
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: in February, because they're taking like a little bit of
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: a break and then coming back. So I think at
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: the end of that run we are going to get her.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: I'm done with the Jedi Order, like we thought we were
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: going to get what's his name back not? Was it
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: race Master?
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, the.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: Master that took over Wreath as a padawan. How he
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: leaves at the end of min At Horizon. We were like, oh,
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: he's going to come back. Oh yeah, we haven't seen
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: him at all. So yeah, I think she's definitely gonna
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: leave at the end.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: You know. One thing in Issue to also that we
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: start to see and I think it's very much a
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: consequence still of the effects that were or the events,
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: not exactly the effects, but the events that took place
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: in our first volume, like in twenty two with Sarah
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: and Trek, they're falling apart. They're falling apart. Yeah, that's
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: that's a good way of saying it. Later on in
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: this volume, they they put heads, and it has always
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: been told to us that they basically share one mind.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: They see what they see, they think what they think,
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: and they are polar opposites right now. Yeah, we start
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: to see the beginning of that in issue too.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and you see the different cybernetics that each one
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: has now because they basically like fell apart when they
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: were attacked by the Nameless in Phase one's comic run.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: So yeah, I think that while I would have liked
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: to see maybe a little more manipulation there to kind
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: of like show the transition, like maybe do like an
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: intermittent issue or something where like they're struggling to adjust
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: to the cybernetics, Like I really want to know more
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: about kind of how they interact with each other and
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: how that transitioned with the healing process after Starlight Beacon
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: and the addition of cybernetics.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it would have been nice to have a little
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: bit more of that. Like I'm not saying that it's
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: not believable, because clearly, like we can connect the dots
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: of like, hey, something's very traumatic have happened to both
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: of them with a species that is supposed to be
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: symbiotic in mind and everything else, So that does make sense.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: But I would have liked to see a little bit
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: more or even you know, having them. I know that
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: the High Republic has done this very cheeky thing of
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: like saying, Okay, these characters will stay in the comic,
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: and these characters are going to be in the children's novels,
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: and these characters are going to be in the adult novels.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: I wish there was a little more crossover, not so
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: intense where you're like, oh, gosh, I have to read
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: this book to think about what, you know, the character
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: development of this character over here, like nothing so intense.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: But we know that, especially at the beginning of this
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: phase three, that a lot of these Jedi are on
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: the same mission, just different parts of the bar See
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: and everything else. Their past probably crossed once or twice,
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: you know, So I think that it would have been
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: a little fun to have a little bit of that interaction.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: But you know, we were here already, so we'll see
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: where it goes. But at the end of issue too,
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: we get the big reveal something that was accidentally spoiled
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: via releasing of a connecting cover of these first four issues.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: We get that are alive. We get the the mentioned
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: from the children of the Storm or the child of
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: the storm that his face is now all scarred up
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: and disgusting, and he has to wear a mask because
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: of a savage trandotionan in the oculation zone. And this stops.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Kiev Brightner tracks like, wait a second, what did you
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: just say? What's going on this? Unfortunately, like I said,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: Katie and I knew months ago last year. We knew, Uh.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, honestly I think we did because it was like
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: end of twenty twenty three kids.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty sure somewhere like November, like October November.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: We found out already. So and that's just the way
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: solicits work, unfortun and it was the artist that kind
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: of screwed up on accident. They're like, yeah, well, I
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: don't even think it was the artist. I think I
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: think honestly what it was was they did a special
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: connecting cover for a specific comic store, and the comic
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: store was the one that announced it, and they screwed
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: up unfortunately. So nothing on the artists of that cover,
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: but we knew this was happening. I think it's a
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: nice twist, especially the way this story progresses, uh with
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: you know, it intrigues you very first thing Okay, he's alive,
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: but why is this person acting as though this you
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: know that that scheve has like gone rogue? Like is
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: like why is he attacking? Like is it a lie
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: from this child of the storm or are they being
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: genuine with how like ferocious? Like those are the thoughts
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: that come to you with this whole Well.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: Yeah, did you reread twenty twenty one before?
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: I did not reread twenty twenty one? Well, I don't
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: know if.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: You remember, but Skier was basically suffering from a Trandosan
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: disease where he reverted to his inner predator.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, like basically, yeah, I remembered a little bit of that,
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: but I will admit I didn't remember it until it
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: was Heave that said it in the ruin that they
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: find him, you know, spoilers for literally the next issue
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: that we're about to talk about. So I was like,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: oh my gosh, like what happened to him? What's going on?
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: And then like all of this happens, I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: totally forgot about that. That makes sense, But so go ahead.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: No, go finish your thought because I was gonna jump.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Well, I was gonna say I still think that it's
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: still very fun storytelling. Yeah, no, it definitely is the
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: idea of anybody surviving Starlight Beacon is something to be like, oh,
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: like we have more survivors yay, you know, and then
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: the idea of like there could be more, you know.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: So I think the possibilities are fun and a little
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: bit endless. But how important Kiev has been to this
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: story since the very first issue of the first phase.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: I think that they have had a very weird relationship.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: It like it's been a little bit of tough love. Also,
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: like I think this is fun to keep them together
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: at least for now.
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, no, definitely. What did you think about showcasing how basically?
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: I would say Issue three is probably a good sign
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: of where Kiev is headed with the Jedi Order, because
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: she insists to the New Republic Captain or not New Republic,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: the Republic Captain that they're working with in the Defense
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: Force that they need to take back the Ataraxia.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: But then they take back the Ataraxia and don't go
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: back to your course hunt. They keieve Sarah and Tarik,
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: I'll get on the ship to go into the occlusion zone.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: To go after Skier, and they say it they're like, hey,
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: you said it yourself. You need a you know, a path, drive,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: a you know this. This ship's got it. We're gonna go.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: And she's like, oh, but what about the prisoner? What
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: about Lorna? And they're like, well, we're about to go
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: into any enemy space. It might be nice to have
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: an enemy to go along with, you know, we don't
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: know what's going to be over there. So I like this,
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: But you do see how I think Keeve has always
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: been hardheaded, She's always had that mind of her own.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: But here there are so much more. There's so much more. Sorry,
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: words are hard right now. Her attention is only on
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: one thing. Hey how do I get my master back? Right?
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: And this is common in what we've already seen in
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: this third phase of the High Republic. We've seen it
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: with Avarn ls are we we are going to be
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: seeing it with the Blade himself now knowing that his
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: sister's alive. Like it is a common theme. So this
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: is not something that we should be like, why is
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: she like going against orders? Like this is this is freaking.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: The whole film of the High Republic Right now.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: Bell with Buriaga like you can't accept that you've lost
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: so much when those are the very little things that
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: you still have, you know, and that's what the Jedi
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: Order is struggling with right now. So I I really
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: dig this. I I love the somewhat callback or it
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: is a full callback with a somewhat callback of the
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Tempest Runner from what we just talked about. He does
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: talk about her background. Oh, I know exactly who you are.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: I've read your file. I know that you were you know,
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: you were thrown into you know, a prison for this,
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: or a slavy for this, you know all of these
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: different things. But I also like the callback to Lorna
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: d not being the big monster that everybody thinks she is,
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: because the big thing that Lorna does to like, oh
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: you know what, I'm gonna get away, Well, I can't
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: get away because of all this cargo. You know what,
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: We'll just throw the cargo away. And we learned that
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: there's individuals people in the cargo, and you're like, oh
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: my god, she just like left them out there to die.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: And even the Republic is like, oh, you know, get
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: them before their oxygen runs out, and they pick them
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: up and they're like, oh, well, there's actually a generator
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: in every single one of these, so they were never
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: going to die. And that's just the smart thinking and
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: Hue like the I was gonna say human side of
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Lorna D, but like the generous side of Lorna D.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: Like she can be a monster to survive, but we've
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: seen because of the tipp is Is Runner that she was
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: forced to become this person. Yeah, she still has a heart,
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: like she understands morals, what's good, what is bad, But
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: this is just who she is and she knows as
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: well as mostly everybody in the Night Hill that it's
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: killed or be killed, survive, you know, all of these
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: different things, and so that's what she's had to do.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: But she is still has a small sliver of herself
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: still in there, and I really do like that.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: Yeah, most definitely. So the last issue of this volume
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: is issued number four, where we do get we get
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: a space. I loved the artwork in this. There's one panel,
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: not the one that you have as the cover image
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: or the cover of the issue itself, but there's one.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: It's right after the flashback where she's been in space
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: for the first time and it's like now and like
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: it's just so good, Like it's so good, like This
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: is a really.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: It's the doubles. It's the double splash page. It has
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: the the Scavenger droids. I forget what they were ye.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: Where the yeah this I think they are scabdroids?
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Are they scabdroids? The scavdroids destroying the ships that we
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: learned about this in the Temptation of the Force that
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: on the other side of the occlization zone again where
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: it's they're hard that the Nihill program these droids that
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: whenever there was a ship that came through without like
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: certain codes or whatever, that they would immediately attack those ships.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: So we see them there and he has our lightsaber.
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: It's a it's a very gorgeous uh double uh splash page.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: I really do love it. But we see here uh again,
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: this is where we see the different sides of Sarah
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: and Trek where I believe it was uh Sarah.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, when they're working with the droid and then
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: like one of them is gonna torture Laurna Dee get the.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: He he tries to do the Jedi mind trick. Oh,
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: you will tell us the codes, and she's resisting. You're
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: not gonna You're not gonna get anything out of me
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: to the point where he like starts to like choke
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: her or like do something in a way that is
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: actually hurting her. Keith tackles him and he is like
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: trying to say, like we have no other options, like
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: we gotta do this, Like what is wrong with you guys?
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: This is where we really start to see the divide
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: between this team, and I do like it because it
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: makes you question how far are they gonna go? Like
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: are they going to cross a line eventually? Like you
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: could say this crosses a line, but they didn't actually
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: go through with killing Lorna d or or whatever. There
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: is no actual physical harm like all of these other things.
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: Is there going to be a moment in this phase
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: where we see Sarah and Trek actually fight, like and
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: they are going to try to kill each other, Like
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: that's gonna be something that is it possible yes? Or
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: is it possible no? You know, we we don't know
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: at this point, but we do know that there is
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: a divide, that there is a struggle because we see
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: it even more when they are on a planet in
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: the oculation zone and like we see like their mind
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: is warped, their being tempted by like this divide that
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: they already have, Like it's it's going to be a
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: very interesting perspective to see which way they go.
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't want to speak too much more on
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: them because I've read the other issues. I don't want
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: to spoil anything because we're going to get there. We're
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: going to get there, I promise. But yeah, no, you
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: bring up a lot of good points with them, for sure, but.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: We we do get After that, I think it was
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: Lorna Dee who mentions, oh no, no, no, it was
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: Sarah that mentions that there was a signal of some
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: kind of a trained Dosan attacking on a certain planet.
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: They get to that planet, which is kindo sorn is
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: the planet name. It's a jungle planet. They meet a
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: weird bird monkey that I believe it was Rna gets
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: attacks Lorna, but I think it was Sarah that kind
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: of takes it under his wings, like, oh, you know,
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: he's just scared, you know, you know, he doesn't need
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: to be attacked or whatnot. The next character that shows up,
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: I completely forgot about Orbiln. I was like, what the
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: heck is this Keeve? Here's a lightsaber and it's like,
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: oh crap, Like I gotta go, like what is this?
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: And she peeks around a bush and is attacked by
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: this blob with a green lightsaber, and I was like,
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: what the what is this? And it wasn't until the
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: flashback where they actually show Laura shooting him in the face.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I remember this. I didn't know
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: that's what inside. But okay, I love Orberlain.
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: He's so great.
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: I loved this character because of how ironically and un
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: ironically he has his heads. He has his head on
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: his shoulders the entire note, like the entire like it's
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: one giant blob, but like he's the only character that
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: is making sense throughout the entire thing. He is so
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: one with the force and is like, okay, like the
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: Nameless are coming. We know that they do this, this
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: and this. We have to stay calm, we have to
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: trust the force. Well, everybody's freaking out. Everybody's like and
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: he's just like, be okay, we're scared. That's understandable, but
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: let's just chill out, you know, do whatever. I also
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: forgot that there was an actual uh Jedi by the
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: name of goon Raw, who is the same species as
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: the character from Jedi Survivor.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: Uh, I love this nude Like I don't know how
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: new the species is to star Wars, but the design
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: is cool. Absolutely love them. Uh. But we see that
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: uh uh what's his name? It was Orbilin was the
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: one that saved him from the events that happened to Starlight.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Lorna D was the one that that shot orblon of course. Uh.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: And then we find out that uh goon Roll is
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: so oh beat up, like we see him getting shot
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: and everything from the Night Hill, but like the way
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: he looks now is not because of the Night Hill,
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: but it's because of Skier. Yeah. How did you like
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: the conversation and the events that happened thereafter with Keeve
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: and Lorna De within the Ruin? How did you feel
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: about the conversation that they had about like, you know,
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: Lorna De making the acknowledgment of like, hey you like
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: you're a little feisty now, like you have a little
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: bit of a dark side, you know, all this stuff,
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: and plus the inevitable meeting of Skier again, how did
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: you feel like all of that went down?
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: I feel like it went pretty good. Like I truly
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: love Lorna D as a character, like I fell in
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: love with her in the in the first comic run
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: the twenty twenty one run, and she's just such a
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: survivor and she's such a cynic at the same time,
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: Like I just and I love that she's just completely
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: honest with what she needs but then also calls out
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: the flaws that she sees and the highlights that she
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: sees in other people around her. So I think she
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: was a great addition to this because I didn't know
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: how they were going to handle her character when she
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: takes off with the Ataraxia at the end of Tempest Runner,
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: because we really didn't see her after that, so to
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: get her back was really special.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: Scar, I'm excited to see what happens with Scar, Like,
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: you can't just kill him off now, right, You can't
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: just kill him off now.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: I would not like, especially with showing how much of
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: an anchor he is to keep you right now. I
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: And I also think you kind of have to have
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: that heartbreaking moment with keeven skier when he finally does
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: decide like I'm leaving and I'm and I'm not coming back,
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: Like I think you need him for that moment, you.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: Know, yeah, to answer your question about goon Ral's species.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: His species is a Latero also known as a Lateran.
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: The first appearance was in Star Wars Jedi Fall in Order,
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: so that was a species specifically created for where that
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: video game.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: That's awesome. Cool, So it is a newer species. That's fun.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: But we reached the end of this volume with issue
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: number five, it being.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: This, this volume is only issues one through four?
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Is it really?
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: Yeah? We talked about the beginning how it was only
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: four issues.
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: Then why do I have issue five in this I.
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: Looked it up specifically. Oh that's weird Marble unlimited or
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: you bought the volume digitally?
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: I have it digitally. I don't know because it has
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: it has issue five, and then at the very end
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: of that it has revelations. Are you going to check
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: yours just in case?
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: Yeah, this says one through five. I looked it up
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: on Amazon and it said one through four. Oh crap,
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: I didn't breathe this at all.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: Five, So you are not caught up until that moment,
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: right or.
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: No? So I read issues. I read through issue six
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: last month, so let me just slip through it real fast.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: Okay, So I will say issue five is the interaction
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: with Skeeer, and then there is an event that happens
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: outside of the ruins with the other characters, with Sarah
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: and Tarret and the surviving to Jedi that are with them. Yes,
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: and we are with We are left with two little
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: cliffhangers at the very end of here, introducing a new
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: character as well as reintroducing an old character.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: So yeah, the old character is is from the Phase
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: two run.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Yeah, what's his name?
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: Tay serh Yes, I love him, by the way, he's
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: so good seeing.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: Him here again. There's this idea in Star Wars. I
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: can't think of any alien species as having a quote
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: unquote normal lifespan. It's it's I have to I have
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: to now think that every species can live well over
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: one hundred years old. That's just the way I have
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: to think of Star Wars now. And does that ruin
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: Star Wars? No, not at all. But seeing this character,
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: I'm like, how the hell are you still alive? That's
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: the first thought that I have. My second thought is cool,
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: he's still alive. Like, Okay, that's interesting. This leaves more
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: breadcrumbs to like, well, not necessarily bread crumbs. It it
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: connects the dots a little bit more for phase two
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: to phase three and like how they can tell that
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: interconnective story. Yeah, but my first thought is, how the
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: hell are you still alive? So it's just this idea
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: that these beings can just be really old. And I
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: have to be ok with.
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: The Sethi, which is Tayseric's species are actually from Legends
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: and they were a long lived species in Legends, with
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: elder individuals living for more than two hundred years, possibly
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: up to four hundred, So that is a reference there. No,
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: so this issue, I didn't really read the content, but
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: I flipped through and I remember most of it. I
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: love the fights that we get here. I love the
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: Sarah and Trek have to kind of they're facing the nameless,
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: but at the same time they're getting like they're face
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: off with the dream Gear that they never really got
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: from when one of them was captured by the drink
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: Gear in the twenty twenty one run. So I love
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: that that comes back into play. So yeah, and then
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: the reunion with Skier and getting him to get past
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: his syndrome. It's just a real highlight moment. I think.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: Do I wish that there was kind of a little
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: more perspective from Skier in some of these scenes, yes,
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: because otherwise I think think that's why it feels a
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: little quick to get like that recognition from him. It
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: just feels a little quick from Cub's perspective. But if
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: you see kind of the flashbacks that he's getting, that could,
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: I think help with that a little bit.
- 1:38:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I enjoyed this issue Again. I do enjoy the
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: interaction with Lorna de Very sneakily grabbing Ceve's lightsaber, having
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: her moment to kind of strike Steer and kind of
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: make that confrontation even more hectic for a small bit.
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: I do like that. And this interaction with the illusions
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: of the drink gear outside of the ruin really messing
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: with Sarah and Trek goes again with this whole idea
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: that they can feel and think the exact same things. Uh.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: And it was the other Jedi again forgot his name,
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: blob dude, uh Kattie or or Orbilin. Yeah, Orbilin reminding
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: Sarah like, hey, you know, just think through these things.
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: It's it's it's gonna be okay, and there being a
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: reassurance afterward where Sarah it's like, yes, I am one
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: with the force. The Force is with us. These are
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: all illusions, They're not gonna hurt you. But then there
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: actually was a nameless out there, uh and unfortunately kills
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: one of the other Jedi, and that's when we see
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: Tay show up and actually defeat the nameless at that moment.
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: But we get this to be continued moment at the
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: very end of this issue with uh, this small individual
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: and I don't know if this is a child or
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: I do think it's a child, okay, because they say hello,
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: little lady, and it's drawn very childish. But then I
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: was like, wait, what if she's just like the panel
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: is just really close up on her and like she's
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: not really that tall. So yeah, there's this individual with
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: purple eyes, purple suit, some sort of glove, like very interesting.
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: I don't know who this is anybody like this before.
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: I'm trying to see, gosh, where is it. It's not
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: on his Wikipedia Okay, so the purple so we've seen
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: this outfit before. It's in the Blade, Charles, I don't
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: think it's in the Blade. I think it's in the
- 1:41:20Speaker 3: Phase two main run as one of the as one
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: of like the Force user conference people. But then we
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: also get someone in this outfit in the Charles Soul,
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: I think it's Hidden Empire Run.
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: Hm hmm, okay, so I believe you're right. As far
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: as the Phase two Maine comic run, I think it
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: was the old dude. Wasn't uh the the main Jedi
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: what was his name? Remember he was having like PTSD
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: of like the husband, Yes, Tay's husband. He was having
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: flashbacks of this group attacking him as as a young wing.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I'm back on tays Eric build our mac
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: surcer of the tune. I don't think that's right. Okay,
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: we may have to do some googling and come back,
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: uh next week.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: I would you said it was part of the Jedda Council, Yeah,
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: Council of Wills.
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: No oh, let's go to Kira. You've got to be
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: here somewhere, Come on, Like.
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: I just recognize the So my first thought, I know
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: you haven't played the video game, and it would be
- 1:43:21Speaker 2: fun if this was like some sort of callback or connection,
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: some sort of way. In Knights of the Old Republic two,
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: there is a individual that you meet that can become
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: a part of your team who is blind but can
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: see through the force, and she wears an outfit like this. Okay, yea,
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: she has a bandage over her eyes and that's the
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: only difference comparatively. But that's what Okay, So I just
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: saw a posts your Star Wars have Republic one spoilers
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: over twelve verse appearances. Uh, we are seeing Sorcerers of Toun.
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: That was the Vildar Mac attack. I'm scrolling through the
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: Hidden Empire comic right now. This is gonna bug me.
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: Ah uh yeah, Combe.
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: Envoy Okay, that sounds.
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: Why a y A c O M B E ian
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: v O Y.
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: Spoke only through proxies. Yes, yep, that's it.
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, somewhere.
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: See I knew it was right too because they make
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: an appearance in Battle Jedda. It is not a hidden empire,
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: but it is higher public and then uh dooku Jedi lost.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: So looking at the Wikipedia, the Yakombe were once au,
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: a group once associated with the dark side of the
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: Force and whose members only spoke through proxies.
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: Uh, the convocation of the Force, an advisory council, a
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: whole city moon of Jedi. Ye yeah yeah, so this
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: can be the potential connection with tay.
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: I guess yeah, because they don't end up joining the council.
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, no, this is interesting, I I but why is
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: it a child? You know?
- 1:46:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the question. I really thought that I had
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: seen them in the Hidden Empire, but that doesn't have
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: say that there's a reference. All right, I'll have to
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: scroll through and just see if I if I can
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: see him, because I really thought they were there. First
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: appearance was Duku Jedi lost in flashbacks, and then they
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: were first shown in the Higher Public twenty twenty two,
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: so very awesome.
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: But that leaves us with just the revelation story again.
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: It is literally one, two, three, four, five, six, six
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: issues or six pages is all is the digital comic.
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: It is within the oculation zone occlusion occlusion. I don't
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: know why I keep saying oculation, but this is in
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: the occlusion zone. And they are, oh, well, excuse me.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: This is Gallimere and it's near the Night Hill occlusion zone.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: It's near it. They are talking about.
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: Uh, they're trying to see if they can find a varvar.
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: In the beginning. In the beginning, uh, we see that
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: Kiev sees some night hill, she hears a lightsaber, she
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: goes towards it and ends up being in this kind
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: of firefight, but she notices some random individual with a lightsaber,
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: and this person's like, I don't know why they're so
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: many people fighting me. I'm not and she's like, yeah, clearly,
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: clearly you're not a Jedi ends up saving this individual,
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: and the moral of the story is that there is
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: always hope because of the morals of these individuals who
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: are still fighting to keep their planetary space outside of
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: Nihill space. I think it's a very fun story. It's
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: very small and short. It's not like something you need
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: to read or anything, but it's just a little bit of,
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: you know, hope in so much chaos and despair that
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: is Phase three so far.
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, it allows her to like kind of spread
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: the hope of the Jedi in that spot because while
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: she takes the lightsaber and says, I better hold on
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: to this, she says, you don't need to be you
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: don't need to have a lightsaber to give others hope.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: And because that's what he picked it up was because
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: he was like, we needed a Jedi. And so it's
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: just a really cool little neat side story to kind
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: of tell us because this was a part of Revelations
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: twenty twenty three which was, Hey, this is where all
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: the main runs of Star Wars comics are going in
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: the next year. Just kind of a little bit of
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: a nice story. Yeah right there, all right, well, Clay,
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: I think that's it for today.
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: Yeah, this was a little bit of a longer episode
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: than what we usually have, or at least what we've
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: had in the last few months. But you guys can
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: always find me at fanboy Clay on Twitter and any

- 1:50:17Speaker 2: the eight year run of Power Rangers. Very bittersweet talking
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: about that, so go check that out when it finally releases.
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: But also just making some random content here and there.

- 1:50:44Speaker 2: so just support me in that. Not really having a
