- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Good morning, and welcome to T-Bone Sports One Fan All Game Podcast Number 9.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Three days away from Alabama starting their 2026-2027 college football campaign.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: And one day away from the University of Colorado Buffalo, who's playing their first football game of the 2026-2027 season.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: See you will play Thursday night.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: 6 o'clock against Georgia Tech on ESPN.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: The Alabama Crimson Tide will play Saturday, September 5th, 10 o'clock in the morning on ABC against East Carolina.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Quick things, Alabama here.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Projections and odds, ESPN analysts rank Alabama number 17th among comp contenders with a 43% chan 41.3% chance to make the football playoffs at the end of the season.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Also, analyst Joel Clatt says he thinks they can finish 10-2 in the regular season, which will typically get them into the at-large bid in the expanded 12 team format.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: You know, they they definitely have some tough games.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: You know, they obviously got to play Georgia, they gotta play LSU, they gotta play Auburn, they gotta play their normal teams in the in the in the SEC.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Obviously, there's some teams in the SCC they're not gonna be playing this year.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: But all out and all around, they you know, they they have you know, they have some some they have some really good games I think they can really play, and then I think this year they're gonna they're gonna be in there.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: You know, is is this the Bo's last season in in c in Alabama if he does not succeed and does not get into the national championship game and and win a national championship game after all those years with Nick Sabin pretty much being there every year and almost winning it every year?
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I think he he's still trying to learn this this team.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: This team is still trying to learn his things, but this is year number three, so I I think the Alabama fans and the school and the athletic director expect a bigger step and a bigger leap this year.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: You know, they got another new quarterback, you know, starting with, you know, Ty Simpson being drafted in the NFL and and they always produce really, really good football players.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: They always recruit really, really well, and they always produce, you know, a lot of top first-round draft picks, second-round draft picks, and and and so Alabama is is always a very strong school in the SEC.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: But, you know, this year they're they're you know, they they definitely have a decent schedule, but it it's definitely going to be one of those I think you you've really got to to see how it works out and and and where where they go.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: You know, they do play Kentucky the second game of the season, they play Florida State and Southern Cat and Southern Carolina.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: You know, so their first four games are in September.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Are they easy?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: But also no, because there's a lot of trap games.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: That this east Eastern Carolina game, this East Carolina game could be a trap game, the Kentucky game can be a trap game.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: We all know what happened last year against Florida State when they lost in their first game against them, and then even South Carolina.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: You know, then you play Mississippi State.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, I think that's you know gonna be a game that that's fairly winnable.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: But again, Mississippi State is one of those schools in the SCC that struggles.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: You play Georgia, you play Tennessee, and they're you know, Georgia and Alabama, Tennessee is always a really good matchup, always a really good game, and it always comes down to the last, always come down to the wire.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: They do play Texas AM, which is a ranked, a top 10 ranked team.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Alabama is ranked 13th this year going into the beginning of the season.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: You play LSU, you know, with Lane Kiffin, that, you know, with the with the all the stuff he's trying to do with getting these players that aren't going to make the NFL to get them back into college, get their, you know, their fifth year of eligibility.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Last podcast I talked about, that whole fiasco.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Vanderbilt and then Chattanooga right before you play the Iron Bowl.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: This is the last year that everybody in the SEC before their final game of the SEC season will be playing a I guess how you put this nobody school, sister school, easy win, you know, take it easy, let the, you know, let the let the upperclassmen, let the starters rest, play the lot of these younger guys that, you know, don't get a lot of opportunity to be on the football field and and play in a college football game, get them some college football game experience under their belt.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: So I I predict that, you know, Alabama, yeah, I I agree with Joel Clatt, ten and two is is definitely something I think they can do.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a tough season, but you know, Alabama's there, and I I think with the beau, I think this is gonna be his season to to really be to really be, you know, the the you know, really, really break out and and and they they have, you know, they definitely have a chance to to to really do well.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: You know, I I think it's it's gonna be it's gonna be a good season for Alabama.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: So we'll see on Thursday or Saturday morning when they play at 10 o'clock.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: So, you know, college football starting up.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: This is another weekend that the NFL is giving all of college football, the entire Labor Day weekend, to play football.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: So there's games Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, and a few on Sunday, and then a few on one or two on Monday to finish up the holiday weekend, and then the very next two days later on Wednesday, the NFL season starts.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna be it's gonna be it's gonna be crazy.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Fall is here, football season is here, college football and NFL are all both raring to get back and going.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Saturday night, or Thursday night, the Colorado Buffaloes play their first game after a very disappointing season last year.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: They do play a they do start against Georgia Tech like they did last year.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: You know, this is I think this is a year that we really that the Buffs really need to play well and and really prove that that this Deion Sanders two season wasn't just a two-season hit wonder with his kid and Travis Hunter and and all that playing.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: You know, I think I think a lot of what I've heard on the radio and you know, one-for the fan out here in Colorado, you know, and here in Denver, I you know, I I I think the the ceiling is is six games, maybe five games, but I think they can get bull eligible.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: But, you know, if they have another very disappointing season, is Coach Prime on his way out?
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Are they gonna bring him back?
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Is he gonna step down?
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: You know, is you know, a lot of people here are still think it's a it's just a circus and and just type and show and you know all that.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: But again, realize that last year he was battling cancer and and I applaud him and I I tip my cap to him to everything he did last year and everything he was battling and still being able to to really produce and and try to get these kids to go.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: And you know, they they struggled.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: You know, they were a young they were a young group, a new offensive coordinator, new, you know, new new guys on the coaching staff, lost a few, added a few.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: So I think I think this year's gonna be a big proving ground for for Colorado to to really play, you know, you know, really, really play well.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: You know, they they they definitely have, you know, a very tough schedule.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: You know, their first big, you know, their first Big 12 matchup is against Baylor, and it's in September, and and they, you know, then they have an onslaught of those games.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: But you know, in Georgia Tech, I I think that's one they can steal from from Georgia Tech.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I think that's one that, you know, they haven't really they've only played each other once.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: There isn't really a lot of new game film on the new on the new quarterback in in Georgia Tech.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: There's not a whole there's a little bit of game film on on the quarterback at CU.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: So I think it's pretty evenly matched, but I think, you know, that that that's a game that I think Colorado can can steal and be 1-0.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Weber State, a smaller school.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: Again, that's another one of those big games that CU has always struggled with, with every coach they've had, where they've played a smaller school, it's been a trap game.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: They think it's gonna be an easy win.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: They don't play well, they just kind of play haphazardly, they play down to that college, that football team's level, and they wind up losing in some form of fashion.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: I don't think we're gonna see that this year with with this CU squad.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: I think this year they're gonna, you know, Prime is gonna push them and make sure that they they really, really do well and and don't take this game lightly.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: They do play Northwestern in game three of September.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, obviously that that first Big 12 game is against Baylor.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: They do play Texas Tech, Utah, Oklahoma State, and Kansas.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And I I see maybe in those five games, I see maybe two wins, maybe one win.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Definitely Baylor, I think maybe they can steal that one.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Texas Tech is gonna be tough.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Utah is gonna be tough.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: They do have a new coach, so so maybe that's another once you can steal.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Oklahoma State, I think that's once you can win.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Kansas State, I think that's one the buffs can can can get an can get another stealer or win that one.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: You know, November you play Arizona State, Houston, Cincinnati, and UCF.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Obviously, I know they're not gonna beat Houston.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: I know they're not gonna beat Cincinnati UC UF UCF, I think they can win.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: I think Arizona State, they can win.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I think six games, five games is is a legitimate ceiling for Colorado, but we'll see how they play on Thursday night.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: We'll see how this season goes.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Do I think that they're gonna they're gonna have a unbelievable Cinderella season where they really play well and have a lot of games to get into the to make an at-large bid or or something like that?
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say no, but I I always hope that they do, and I always hope that at some point here in the next couple years, you know, Colorado can can get into can get into the big in in into a a national championship game and get into a bigger playoff and get into these these playoffs, but until they expand it to more teams, I don't think the way the 12-team format works out now, I don't see CU doing that.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: So two days ago on Sun three days ago now on Sunday, the Color the Denver Broncos made it official with their 53-man roster after their last big preseason win over, you know, over over the Minnesota Vikings, where they allowed six points, and they they had a really, really good game.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: You know, they played great that last preseason game.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: A lot of the younger guys were really able to prove, you know, if they make the team, if not, to make the practice squad or or potentially make you know make another another team's 50 53-man roster.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: There's been some there were some cuts.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: There were some things that I I I was I was very shocked about, you know, with with Julie being cut with the you know, some of the running backs, it's it's definitely gonna be it's definitely an interesting you know what what happened, but I'll play some clips of the some press conferences here, especially after that.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: But the first thing I'll play here again, via Denver Broncos.com.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: We'll play a little video, you'll hear the audio of full game highlights of the last preseason game last week against the Minnesota Vikings.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: Doctor called me after I wish I had better news, and I instantly knew what my fame was.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: And the fullback spot.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Slot to the left, sit up falling, waiting for Francis to come and fall back and give us a bag of pardon.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: So Jared said him changing the play, and then after he delivers the football look on the right side of your screen, Joy Franklin is throwing a block so good that he had to get out of the way.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Looking asking questions, how you doing?
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Snap is good, hold is fine, and let's leave up like a right players to watch it early here tonight.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: He's earned it.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: Pressure up the middle, straight around the back, makes a man with 40, and he's intended out to the 48-yard line.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Sold it too with his shoulders coming down and pull those linebackers up.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Doesn't get tackled by one guy and then tries his best to jump second down and change your shy of midfield.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Just inside of the water.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Get into the first thing, it's out of the flags, and out of the corner.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Register calls the field.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Staff is good, all this fine.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And like 46 is good.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: Coaching staff do an amazing job teaching these guys the full responsibilities of a receiver.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: They're executing it on the field.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: So that means they're teaching it well, and the guys are paying attention.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: And you do need different look.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Look at this flash this preseason.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Look at how fire.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: What a moment.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: Second 40 plus yard for two catches.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Wait a minute, so like shocking, get it away.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, Steve.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: And then speeding, like the ticket again.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: That's a joy, Steve.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: You need to know that these players there's so much pressure, you think.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Let's see, they're gonna call it a catch.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Suspect on his left foot again.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, I think that's an incomplete pass two for two now, Steve.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: That uh bearings are ready to overtake him.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: He can hang his hat on his performance and feel good no matter what happens tomorrow.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Jefferson running away from people because the Vikings pitch up 28 yards there, and they caught the Broncos in a blitz.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: Just happened to be blitzing from right to left.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: They're going left to right.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: And they broke it open there, Jefferson.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Not as fast as just Justin Jefferson, but it's open spacing in the beginning.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: But it's why you invest in a backup quarterback and second stream players and team Jefferson.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: Here's yellow change now, jump players.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Poor Jefferson must get that every single day.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: I can't keep it on the ground with Jamar Jefferson, and they'll push the plane like the Broncos logo.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Real estate guy and the best starter in the world, the scorekeeper of the New York next to the NBA world champions and a professor at Brooklyn Law School.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Out of the two-minute warning.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Absolutely rocked.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: I love this play.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: It's called Y Tight End Left.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: And then at the end there, his head hits Scott right on the shoulder pad.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Nothing Scott can do about it.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Bartholomew in pain.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: Ouch.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: So, you know, just some some good plays there by Sam Ellinger.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: He obviously played quite a bit.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: So we do have, you know, that that was last week.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: We do have the 53-man roster set.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: We do have the practice quad sweat.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: We also found out that Jonathan Cooper is gonna be on the commissioner exempt list for his unfortunate troubles that he had with his his stuff over the offseason.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: He did plead yes on Monday not guilty into his domestic violence charges.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: His trial will be during during the bye week.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: And and we'll see.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: We'll see how that all handles out.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Now, here's the big thing.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: He can be in the facility, he can get treatment, he can work out with a team, he can go to team meetings, he just cannot play in games, he cannot practice, he cannot do stuff like that with the actual team.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: But if there's a if there's a team meeting or his specific group group in in that position he plays, he's allowed to be at those meetings, he's allowed to work out with the team in the weight room, he can go into the facility and and get treatment for any ailments or anything he needs to be able to do.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: He he just can't be participating in practice, being able to be at the games or or anything.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: He will still get paid, but we haven't figured out the commissioner hasn't figured out where, you know, how many games he will be suspended.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: I I'm gonna say maybe.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Oh boy.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: I would I would say maybe four, maybe maybe six at most, four on on the low end, I think six on the high end, but you know, you know, we'll see where he comes back.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: He does not count as against the 53-man roster when you're on the commissioner exemplist.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: You so there is room for him to be on the roster.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: He can be put on the roster, they're just gonna have to make some moves.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: They'll have to take somebody out of the 53-man roster, put him in, maybe take somebody off the practice squad to put that person from the 53-man roster onto the practice squad.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: But i it's one of those seasons.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Do I see the Broncos being 14-3 again?
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: I doubt it.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: But again, if you would have told me last year the Broncos would have been 14-3, I would have told you at the beginning of the season, I would have told you you were crazy.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: So the 53-man roster this year for the Denver Broncos on the offensive side of the ball.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Sam Ellinger, quarterback, Jared and Stenham, quarterback, Bo Nick's quarterback.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: We all know Bo Nicks is quarterback number one.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: It'll be interesting to see who is quarterback number two, either Sam Ellinger or Jared Stenham.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Obviously, I don't think they'll be dressing all three.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: The running back room, which is oh man, this his running back room was stacked.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: And and they did have to let McLaughlin go.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, he he wound up deciding to go elsewhere and play football and and not be put on the practice quad for the Denver Broncos, which is you know his decision, and and I understand it.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: But RJ Harvey, Joshua Coleman, who I think is gonna be one of those rookies that you you better watch out for.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: I think he is gonna have some really good games.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: I think he is gonna get a lot of playing time.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: He can run block well, he can catch out of the backfield.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Obviously, you know, we we have the Broncos have J.K.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Dobbins.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: If he can stay healthy, hopefully he can.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: I think he can have a thousand yard season.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: I think maybe RJ Harvey and Joshua Coleman can can get right under that that threshold.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: And then Tyler Bidet.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: The biggest reason that they kept Tyler Bidet is because obviously he is on special teams on he's on punt coverage, he's on punt kickoff on punt, he's on punt return, he's on kickoff return, he's on kickoff as well.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: He's probably on on the onside with with the hands team.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: The wide receiver room, which is absolutely stacked, and there are some players, and the the players I thought that would make it did make it.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: But little Jordan Humphrey, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, Cortland Sutton, Jalen Jaden, Jalen Waddles, and Marvin Mims Jr.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: So this is this is this receiver room is is just unbelievably stacked.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: You have three.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Guys right off the bat, four guys right off the bat that can really do some big deep routes.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: Obviously, you know, the route tree for Corland Sutton is is fairly expanded, fairly large, very, very large, which Aidenwala, same thing.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Marvin Mims kind of has, you know, a decently good route tree.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: You know, Jordan Bryant, you know, Troy Franklin has a good, good route tree.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: Obviously, he's played with Bo Nixon in Oregon, so they have a really good chemistry.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Jordan Humphrey and and Marvin Mims, they're one of those flash players that can do short runs, do the screens, do short passes, do medium range passes.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: But once they get in the open, and it it's gonna be super tough to be able to catch any of those guys.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: You know, one of the where are you gonna put your best coordinator?
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna put them on Stutton?
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna put them on Jalen Waddle?
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna put them on Pat Bryan?
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna put them on Troy Franklin?
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, where are you gonna put them?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Because this receiver room is so stacked.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Every player is is so, so good, and they they play at a high caliber.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: I I think this is gonna be one of the best tight wide receiver groups in the NFL.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: I think we will have at least two players, probably Jaden Waddle, Waddle, and Sutton at a thousand yards.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: I think you'll see Pat Bryan right underneath a thousand, and I think you'll see even I even predict Troy Franklin being being right under a thousand yards, but it'll be a it'll be a crazy, crazy wide receiver room, and this is a very good wide receiver room.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: So hopefully they're they pass a little bit more and run a little bit and have a really good balanced offense.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: Evan Ingram, Nate, Nate Atkins, Adam Troutman, and Dylan Bentley are the tight ends.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: Interesting tight end group.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: Not the best, but a lot of them are good top blocking tight ends.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: There are good catching tight ends.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, Evan Ingram has a better season than he did last year.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: The offensive line for the Denver Broncos, Alex Forsyth, Lute Wattenberg, Alex Provensky, Mike McGlinchy, Garrett Bowles, Ben Powers, Quentin Miners, Cage Casey, and Matt Pratt.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: A good offensive line there.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: You know, very stacked, very, very good there.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Big boys to be able to help protect Bonex, make sure he can get passes off cleanly, make sure he can scramble and they can open up holes for the running game.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: The defensive side of ball for the 53 man, the Oster for this year, for the Denver Broncos, DJ Jones, Jordan Jackson, Sevron Jones, Emmo Lewinsky, Malcolm Roach, Tyler Odom, and Zach Allen.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: I think Malcolm Roach is there for a breakout season.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: That defensive line is very, very good.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we know Jonathan Cooper will be put back into this defensive group once he gets off the commissioner's lens and he serves his suspension.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Inside linebacker, Justin Sernard, Kaney Reed, Alex Singleton, and Jordan Turner.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: Good inside linebacker group there.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Outside linebacker group, Nick Bedito, Owen Robinson, Jonathan Ellis, John Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, and Donora Turner, you know, Tillman.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: Again, again, really good outside linebacker room.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: I think Jonah Ellis is set to have a breakout season.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Again, on the defensive side of the ball, the Broncos are stacked.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: They have a really good off, they have a really good line lineman group.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: They have a really good inside-outside linebacker group.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Your cornerback group is again stacked.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Pat Sertan the second, Riley Moss, Jaden Bernard, Bernard, Bernard, Bernard, Quentin Glenn, Juwan, McMillan, and Curtis Allen Deny.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: And then your safety, you know, you got Tychon Anderson, Fungaloa, Brandon Jones, Devin Key, and JK or JL Singer.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: So there, and obviously we know the special teams with you know Will Lutz and Jordan Kershaw as the punter and and you know Will Lutz as as the kicker.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: The practice squad is set 17 players this year, which is extremely big.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: But again, you'll see a lot of moves here and there.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: These guys will be elevated and de-elevated and go back and forth.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: David Ogala, Brent Austin, Michael Bentley, Luke Basso, Michael Barnado, Sam Fetch Jr.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: Kobe, Curtis, Dan K, Lucas Kroll, Tyler Miller, Red Murdoch, the last pick of the NFL draft here.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: So he made the practice squad, so I think he'll be elevated a couple a couple times.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Gavin Orga, Adam Prince, Cody Shet Sletinger.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: He had a really good last preseason game.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: He was really able to make a lot of guys miss.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: I think he really proved to the to the Broncos coaching staff that he should be on this team.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: I do see him being elevated at some point.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: Miles got Gavin Thermarok and Johnny Walker Jr.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: So, you know, you'll you'll see these guys.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: You'll see these guys go back and forth.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Uh I'd be curious to see who they let go from this practice squad or from the 53-man roster once the Broncos really are able to, you know, get their get their season up and going.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: You know, again, they they have a they have a brutal schedule.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: You know, their their first kicks games are hard.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: I do see them 13 and 4, 12 and 12 and 5, 11 and 6 somewhere in there, but I do see them winning the AFC West.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: You know, they're they're they're a good team.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: You know, I'll I'll go over again a quick prediction of of how I think they'll they'll do this year for the season.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna win the AFC West.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: I think they'll be the number one seed in the AFC.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: First game against Kansas City on Monday night.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: I I truly do think that that I think they can win that game.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: I think they can they can beat Kansas City and Kansas.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Do I see Pat Mahomes playing?
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Yes, I do, but a part of me thinks the fan part of me thinks that's a great idea.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: And yeah, let's do it.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Let's see how that knee holds up.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he missed last year.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's getting, he's raring to go and wants to play.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: But the media part of me says, hey, let's not play him.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Let's let let's bring him back week five, week six, let him sit, let him rest, you know, let Justin Fields play, see how he plays out.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: You know, let's make sure Patrick is is 100% healthy before you throw him to the Wolves because the Broncos love to blitz and they have they have the players to get after the quarterback.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Jacksonville Jaguars game number two, obviously revenge on the main for the Denver Broncos because they did beat him.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Jacksonville did come into Denver and beat him and hand them one of their three lot their final loss of the season right near the end of last year, which I I think you know really the Broncos were were very v upset about, and and you saw them being able to really come back from that game and and and play the rest of the last couple games of the season and and win win the division.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: LA Rams, I think unfortunately that's going to be a loss.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: We know the LA Rams are projected to win the be the team coming out of the NFC to be in the Super Bowl.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I do see the Rams winning the NFC West, but you know that that's a very, very tough game.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: These next couple games are are extremely tough because you almost play everybody in the NFC West, and then obviously you play two teams out and two teams out of the division.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: You play the Chargers one time, and then you obviously finish, yeah, you're you're done with Kansas City fairly early in the season.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Week four, 49ers, that's a game I think they can win, but again, that's a game that that can go either way.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: But I'll I'll give I'll give the Broncos a win in that fashion.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: The LA Chargers, again, that's one of those toss-up games.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: That's a game I think they are playing in LA.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: You know, LA's really good in the beginning of the season, especially in week five.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: You know, I'll I'll say that's I'll say that's another, oh boy.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say that's a loss for the Broncos.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: I think that's gonna be a tough game.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: I don't think they'll I don't think they'll sweep the the charges.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: I think they'll split them this year.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: The Seahawks, which is gonna be one of my favorite games to watch because they are both through playing in their throwback uniforms back in the day when I first started watching the Broncos.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: They did play in the AFC West.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: The and fun fact, the Seattle Seahawks are the only team in the NFL to play in both the NFC and AFC championship game.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: That oh boy, that I think is is is gonna be a I think the Broncos can steal that game.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: They are playing in in in, you know, they are playing at home, but that's a game I think the Broncos might be able to win.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: But that again, that's one of those toss-up games.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: But I'm I'm gonna give the nod to the Broncos on that one.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we know they play the Chargers or the Arizona Cardinals week seven, again, a win, a team that's in rebuild, a team that's struggling, a team that isn't really gonna be doing much this year, I think, in the in the NFC side of football or or all of football at all.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Week eight, obviously, you play the ch the Kansas City Chiefs again.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: I think you sweep them.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: I think by then Mahomes is playing, but I think by then, you know, he he's still trying to shake off the rust and and and the Broncos do sweep the the Chiefs this year in week nine.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: Before your bye week on week ten, you do play the Carolina Panthers.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: Again, a team I think the Broncos can beat.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: They're still in reboot mode, you know, and they they they're still there, but I think they're a team that I would watch out for if I were anybody in NFC South or in the NFC.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: I think that's a team that that's my dark horse team out of the NFC by week on week 10.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Come out of your bye week.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: You do play the LA or the Los Angeles or the Las Vegas Raiders for the first time.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Again, they're in rebuild.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: They got a new coach, you know, they got the best, you know, they got the number one overall pick last year.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: I I think that's I just don't see the the the Raiders really doing anything.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be a win for the Broncos.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: You do play the Steelers, that's again another game in the NFC or in the AFC.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna be a team in their division in the NFC North to really come out and and see how they do.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: But, you know, that's gonna be a tough game.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna give that a win in week 12, week 13.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Miami comes to town, first time that Jaden Waddle will be playing his old team after being traded.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: Again, I think that's a win.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: The Jet, the the Dolphins are kind of in a rebuild mode.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: They're they're really not gonna do much in the AFC East.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: New York Jets, obviously, again, a team in the AFC East that is just bad.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: And another win for the Broncos there, another win over the the the Las Vegas Raiders again in week 15, you know, and the Bills.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be a tough game in week 16 against the Bills, especially playing in in Buffalo in the new Hallmark Stadium.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Josh Allen is just a great quarterback.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: I think that's a loss for the Broncos.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: Obviously, week six seventeen.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: You do get a rematch against the the New England Patriots.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: I think that's a game the Broncos can can can really win.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: Thirteen and thirteen and three right now.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, obviously the Chargers, I think that's a game they can win.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: That's the game that they get from the Chargers and splitting their and splitting their, you know, their season with with the Chargers 14 and 3A and I I I guess if if you really think about it, but we'll we'll see how the Broncos play and and we'll see how everything works out.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Let's just hope that the Broncos have a good season.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Thank you for listening to T-Bone Sports One Fan All Game Podcast Number Nine.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: And as always, go Broncos, go buffs, and roll tide.
