- 1:08SPEAKER_03: Do we have homeowners insurance in the same thing?
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: We should.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: But Justin treats everyone like their family, truly.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: So we have our car.
- 1:18SPEAKER_03: I said car.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: But anyway, let's get back to it.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: I have such an awesome.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: By the way.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: You're not supposed to say that.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: Because you should we we were told not to say it.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: You already are fired.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: Anyway, uh, our special guest today is Miss Kennedy.
- 1:34SPEAKER_03: Kicks by Kenny.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: So excited.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: Okay, you are our first guest that is truly a guest.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: Like we usually, I mean, I pick these are all like people that I work with or I'm friends with.
- 1:47SPEAKER_03: And we we bring them on and spotlight them on local legends.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: But I was introduced to you uh from Alisa and she's like, you need to have this gal on your show.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: And I'm honored.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I stalked your Instagram and I'm obsessed with you.
- 2:05SPEAKER_03: I just we're gonna get right into this.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: We're gonna get right back to it.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: Tell me first off what you do.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: I make custom shoes.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Well, I make a bit of everything really.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: My motto is you name it, I paint it, but I mostly do shoes.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: So that's what people people know me as the shoe girl.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: And where did this, how was this evolved?
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: How was kicked by Kenneth?
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: It was actually funny enough, it was a COVID project.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: So I started when I was 16, it was locked down, and I saw it on YouTube.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: It was a trend going around, and I was saw it, and I was like, I could do that.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: So I just started painting shoes.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: And actually, I started first with Sharpie markers, which was kind of crazy.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: Paint markers, I will say.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: But actually, I had my dad, I begged him.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: He took me to um Home Depot.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: I got my very first pack of the Sharpie markers, and that's how I started.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: My first pair was a pair of Converse for my little brother.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: I never posted them because I was like, oh my gosh, I don't know if people are gonna like these.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: But they were really cool.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: They had like Chinese dragons all over them.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Do you still have them?
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, maybe I'll send you guys a picture of them.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I want to see that.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: So you just took a pair and just you were bored.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: We were all opt, yeah, opt up for COVID, and you just started pretty much.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 3:17SPEAKER_03: That's how it goes.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: That's how it goes.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: So how long ago is that?
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: So what where were we?
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, six years, actually.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Because I'm going on six years, fourth of July.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: So you started with that pair, and then what?
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Well, and then after that, actually, my mom, she's here today, but she was the one who posted it on Facebook and it kind of got a little bit of heat from my neighbors.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: They're like, wait, this is sick.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: Like, I want some.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: I was like, So cool.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, actually, I have to start doing this.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: So I started with my neighbors, and then it just kind of snowballed.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: So word of mouth is great.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: It's so important to like get out there and start talking about what you do.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: But after I started kicking off the business, we my first major client was Michaela Skinner for the 2021 Olympics.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, wow.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And actually, I met her through my gymnastics coach.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: And she was like, I have a girl you should do some shoes for.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: So she was my very first big one.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: And then Simone Biles right after that.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: And then I just started snowball, snowball.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: We started working for the NFL.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: And then I did Bradley Bozeman.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: He was playing for the Baltimore Ravens back then.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: And from there it just blew up.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: So really just social media got you out there.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: And never stop talking about what you do.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: And especially when you love it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_03: It's easy to talk about.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: It is.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: Um, so I got a question for you.
- 4:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Because I think this is more of a business question.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: And you being as young and entrepreneurial as yourself, how did you know how to price out the shoes?
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: Like to begin with, because that seems pretty difficult.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: It never, it's crazy.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: It never, you always have to reconsider everything, like time, your years of experience.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: I have a degree now.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, I have to, you always have to readjust what you're thinking for what like your talent is worth.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: When I started, it was hard.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: I think I was charging 20 bucks.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: I'm dead serious.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: I think I was charging maybe$20, if not less.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: Or just here, have them.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: Like right.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: And it evolves, of course.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: And you know, as times go on, it changes.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: But I when I first started, I didn't know how to price that out.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: So I just started with what I knew.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: So you were excited that people were excited to see your artwork.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: And you were created for it.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: But then you realize your self-worth.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: And then you've and then it got better and better as it progressed.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: I think that's really cool.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: You're pretty good.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: I'm glad I hired you.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: So now is mom your momager?
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: Yes, she is.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: So going back, art.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: Were you an artist?
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: Because we have a nine-year-old.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: I was telling you about Sophia, and she's definitely super artistic.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: We'll just sit and draw or create these things really tiny.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: She'll make things out of paper and she watches she gets a little bit of a channel.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: I did that actually.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: That was like when I first started.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: In fact, I was talking with my mom about this on the way over when I was really little.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: I used to take paper and I'd make like, I literally, I don't know why I would do this.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: We'd I'd go under our dining room table and make like elaborate like scenes.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Like I'd put like planets up and like I'm like, I'm an astronaut.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: And I did all kinds of stuff like that.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: That was like my original like creative itch was like I wanted paper and tape for every birthday.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: Christmas was so funny.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then it just evolved into she just started little drawing, and then I told you guys earlier a little bit, but my first painting experience was on shoes or in like art class as a kid.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: But yeah, painting didn't come until later in life when I was 16.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: But yeah, drawing was a huge part of my life.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: Art was always huge for me when I was younger.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: That was like scratching the creative itch.
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: So what was when you were younger, what was your ideal future?
- 6:55SPEAKER_03: What did it look like in art?
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: Were you gonna be Yeah?
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: Actually, I don't think I ever even the concept of becoming a professional artist, it's not something people talk about.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: Like, and it's crazy because I feel like we should.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: There's so many creative people in the world that just have an idea, but it's not something that exists yet.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: So you have to be the first one.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: And for me, I think growing up, I don't think being an artist was even on my radar.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: It was like this is a hobby.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: This isn't something you're gonna do.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: Like you're gonna do something different.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: In fact, when I was younger, I wanted to be an astronaut.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: This is very right field from being an astronaut, but you know, everything's possible.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: So where are you now school-wise?
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: Are you just finishing?
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: You already got it.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: I'm graduating May 13th.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: So we are like a month and a couple days.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: I'm so excited.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: What what's your major?
- 7:46SPEAKER_03: Graphic design.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: Now, the past four years in college.
- 7:52SPEAKER_03: Can you say you're walking away and you really got something from your major?
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, actually, funny enough, I was talking to my teacher about this yesterday.
- 8:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Um, I think I did maybe in a different way than my peers did because they were there to learn and like this is the skill they're developing.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Which of course that's why I was there too.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: Because it's as a business owner, there's always the thought in the back of your mind where you're like, I have to keep improving myself.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: In a sense, whether that be what you're already doing.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: For me, it was I want to be this as well.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: So my thought process with going to school in the original way was I want a degree.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Because that's how in my mind, I'm going to have that just the foundation of what I do as a business owner and as an artist.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: So in school, for me personally, I think what happened is I developed because graphic design's hard.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: You kind of, it's a lot different than I think what a lot of people do.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: It's not art, very separate from art.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: But what I did get from school especially is like the attention to detail.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: And time management.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: That's a huge thing.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Because I go to school full time.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: And I do this full time.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: So time management and just attention to detail was the biggest things I took away from it.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: But I loved it.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: I love school.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: I'll probably be sad when I'm done.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I'm excited to be done.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: So what are what are the plans once you graduate?
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: That's the question, isn't it?
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Well, I'll probably always be kicked by Kenna.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Um, I want to do this forever and ever until I can't.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Um, I actually recently got hired on full-time at Paradise Valley City lifestyle.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, well.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: So I'll be working with Nadine Bubeck, if you know her.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: And from there, I think I just want industry experience for probably five years because again, I did go to school.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: I want to utilize that degree for a little bit at least.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: And then I'll probably just freelance graphic design and from there just keep being kicks by Kenna wherever the life takes me.
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: So, how do you like all these uh athletes that you mention their names?
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: Where is this just someone refers you to this person and then they see you?
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: How does it all yeah?
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: It's interesting.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's a little bit of everything.
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: Instagram is a huge part in that, of course, but it is word of mouth.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: I feel like you hear about someone doing something, you're like, wait, I want a part of that too.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: And that's exactly how it started for me.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: And that's how it still goes.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: In fact, we don't even really reach out to anyone in them anymore.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: When I first started, I was doing a couple free pairs here and there to be like, okay, this is a really cool person.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: I can do a free pair.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: We're gonna get a little bit of publicity from that.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: And we still do that, of course.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: But we more so now it's people reaching out to us.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: We don't have to reach out anymore, which is probably the coolest thing I've ever gotten to say.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: How cool is that to be able to be wanted from yeah, that's it's the biggest blessing.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: Definitely hit a uh pinnacle with that.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: That's amazing.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Every nine questions I get to ask one.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: Well, I found it to be interesting that you said you learned from school you took time management and attention to detail.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: And one of the things that you said that struck really interesting to me, and I don't even know if it was a conscious decision you made.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: The first utilization of like ink on the shoe, you use the Sharpie, right?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: And Sharpie is like one of the hardest things to delete.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: So you have to be precise.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Did you do that on purpose or did you do it subconsciously?
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: You know, it's hard to because paint is hard too, because you can't really delete it.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: It's I I mean, originally it was just like this is what I have available, this is what I know, especially because that's what people were using on YouTube.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: So it was like, well, this isn't really a thing yet.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: We're gonna trial and error it until we're but I think too, the attention to detail has helped with even just being super precise on what we're doing, because as you said, you can't really delete it.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's beautiful.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: So tell us what you have here.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: This is for Nick Lowry.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: His foundation is they're doing a big thing on Easter forever.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: It's for champions of the homeless.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: And they do a big meal every big holiday.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: So they bring people in and they give out flowers and give out clothes, and it's just the coolest thing ever.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: But we're actually gonna, I think we're auctioning this off.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: But he's the coolest guy.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: He was a kicker for the Chiefs.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: He's in the Hall of Fame, and he he signed the front and back, which was super cool.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: I sat with him in his front room and he was just like, and he signed my book, which was super cool.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's a great guy.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna, I'm delivering this to him after this.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, so I thought I'd bring it in to show you guys.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: You guys are the first ones to see.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Kind of this is paint.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Like literally finish it at four o'clock in the morning last week.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, in your room on your bed?
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: Like that's what I'm envisioning.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: I wish.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: I do have a desk now.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: We've grown from the bed.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: And this is a shoe he wore, right?
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: He actually he kicked in it and he brought it out.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: It was a coolest thing.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: He got it in like a storage room in his house, and he was like, Wait, I have this for you.
- 12:42SPEAKER_02: And just brought out his kicking shoe.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Amazing, and great hair.
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah if I remember correctly.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Yes, he does have great hair.
- 12:49SPEAKER_03: He definitely has hair envy of people.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: This, even the shading, how you did that.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that one took a long time.
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: I'm not very good at funny enough, I'm not very good at hands.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: Like in that logo, it has two hands.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh boy.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: So that is amazing.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: It's hands.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: I had I always when I I used to draw when I was young, I would always make one good eye.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: And then the right eye wasn't great.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: Or the opposite eye, I can never match them up.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: I always found that so hard.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: I yeah, I agree with you.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: Hands are like the one thing that I'm like, if I could like sit for a day and just practice, it would be hands.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: They're so hard.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: I could do faces, like whole body shots, but it's like, I don't know, hands are hard.
- 13:29SPEAKER_03: So if we wanted to like the what did you just get, Sophia?
- 13:33SPEAKER_03: Jordans?
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: Like just pink.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: If we wanted we like if we wanted you to do her Jordans and we gave you the pink Jordans, we could just say, I have an idea.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: She's gonna be in the play Annie.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: Maybe something with Annie.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: That's cute.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: Could we do that?
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: Surprise for her for opening day.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's so cute.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: How much time do you need?
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, when is her play?
- 13:58SPEAKER_03: Uh, end of April, I think the 30th.
- 14:00SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, we're gus.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: Yay, I'm so excited.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: You do you do custom.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: Like if someone calls anything.
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: Anything and everything.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna introduce you to somebody that he's a uh manager of like 30 um athletes professionally.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: Okay, perfect.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Your buddy.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Look at that, word of mouth.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: See?
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Maybe more.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: And jelly roll.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, I've heard a lot about him.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: That's his manager.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: Oh not me.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: I thought he was me.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 14:29SPEAKER_03: He's like, come on, give me some credit.
- 14:32SPEAKER_03: All right, can I share with you?
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: Yes, of course.
- 14:34SPEAKER_03: What I did.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: So when I was young, I have a I definitely have a creative side to me.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: I'm not an artist.
- 14:42SPEAKER_03: I could look at things and draw decently, but I'm not, I could never do this.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: But in my mind, remember I was definitely anywhere between like eight and twelve, like in that era, because I remember being in our apartment.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: And I used to like envision designing shoes, but not drawing anything, but actually gluing fabric and weird stuff.
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: So I still have that itch in me.
- 15:08SPEAKER_03: Oh, for my husband.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: Oh, can you grab that bag and grab the shoe out of there?
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: So for my husband's 50th, we did a what was the theme 70s?
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: So I was like, I'm never gonna find shoes.
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, I'm gonna design a shoe.
- 15:22SPEAKER_03: My dog ate the one.
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: So I had that happens.
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: It's the tackiest shit I've ever done.
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 15:29SPEAKER_03: But how it matched, remember my dress?
- 15:31SPEAKER_03: So my dress was this blue sequence, like 70s flare.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: And I wanted something to isn't that hysterical?
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: I love it.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: Let's trade.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: I'll do yours.
- 15:42SPEAKER_03: You do mine.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: You, I'll, I'll make you give me a theme.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: No one's ever made me shoes.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm giving you this shoe.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna put it in a clear box on my desk.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: I love this.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Isn't that fun?
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: It's incredible.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: We hope you put your best foot forward.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, thank you.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: I'll wear it in graduation.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: I'll button another one's house.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: Like maybe it's still awesome.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: I literally came home and there was blue and gold everywhere.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm gonna put it right next to equal levels.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: Incredible.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: I I mean that's great.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: I used to, before I did shoes, I used to glue little like outfits together for my build-a-bears.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: So you know, you gotta that's cool.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: Love a good glue gun.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: I love a good glue gun.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: I love scraping it off the counter.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: It's in fact, we just replaced our dining room table because I got paint all over.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: So you know, you gotta start somewhere.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Um okay.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: So then what actually would I want to know too, as a young entrepreneur?
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: Because I've I've gotten asked it like, what is it?
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: Do you have a normal week?
- 16:56SPEAKER_03: Like, what is your week now look like?
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: Besides school, your business, what is it?
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, it's so funny too.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: Like, I'll come to school and sit down in class.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: I'm like, yeah, I was just on channel 12 for an hour.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: And they're like, what?
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: I it's funny.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: It even like it goes as far as to like, it's just every day's different.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: We wake up in the morning.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: In fact, we're so old school.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: I have a paper calendar that I write everything down on and it's hooked to my fridge.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Um, but we every day's different.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: It's I mean, even just this week alone, I usually have like two or three events.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: Go on pods every other day, and just whenever there's time, I paint.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: So that's why I was up till 4 30 in the morning.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: And then also I have fun too.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: In fact, we were on the lake.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: Yes, we live close to Canyon Lake, so we have a boat.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: So we I fit in the fun there too.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: I'm still 22 years old.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: I think I have fun.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: So you have to have fun.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: It's just I just love what I do and it's my life.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: So this is what I really loved um when I was looking at your page.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: You had said there's never been someone that you worked for or worked with that wasn't a great experience.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: Is that true?
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: I fully agree with that.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: Isn't it amazing?
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: Well, I also tell what her personality, she's only gonna draw like good experiences.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Even if it's bad, it's gonna be a good experience for you because you're gonna learn from it.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: I mean, we've never even had a client or a customer say anything bad, never a negative comment, even on my social media posts, nothing ever.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: That is amazing.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: It's just been incredible.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: I always say that my business is God driven.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: So, like, in a sense, it's his hand in everything.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Even the people we work for and the experiences we have, everything.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: It's just all according to God.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Love.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: You gotta stop because our next guest is probably crying right now.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Are you crying?

- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: Your most um like your most memorable exchange.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exchange of a shoe.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Too many to count.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: I mean, we did Damar Hamlin when he had just had his heart.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, yeah.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Um it was while he was recovering.
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: Actually, I reached out to him and just said, I want to help in any way possible.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: So we did a pair for him with his it was that heart hand thing that he did.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: You need to paint his hands on it, and we did a big collaboration and did, and it we were raising funds for, I think it was the American Heart Association, and it did pretty well.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: I think we raised like six thousand dollars for him and his group that he worked with.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: So that's awesome.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: That was a huge thing for me.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: I just love being out in the community, working with people.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: I always say I'm a storyteller at the heart.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: That's I mean, throughout all this, throughout childhood, all the arts and crafts, it's always been about telling people stories.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: And if I could do that with something I love, then I will.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: So are you a part of any um nonprofit charities right now?

- 20:17SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: I have a middle child.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Do you fight with them?
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: No, actually, not at all.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Figures.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: My older brother and I are um only about 10 months apart.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: So we were raised as twins.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: So yeah, and we're like the two opposite sides of the brand.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: He's a mechanical engineering okay.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: He's very, very smart, and I do this.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's real cool.

- 20:36SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's awesome.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: Will you stay in Arizona?
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: I probably will.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: I love it here.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: The valley's a great place.
- 20:41SPEAKER_02: There's uh I mean, I was talking to a friend the other day, and she even said that this is the biggest small business, nonprofit.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is the largest like saturation of that in any state, any country.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: It's all in the valley.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: I could see that.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: So I'm I'm probably gonna stay.
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: If I can, I will.
