Speaker 1: Welcome back everyone to I Do Part two. It's your
• 0:16
Speaker 1: hosts Amy and TJ. And we are going to jump
• 0:18
Speaker 1: right back into our fascinating conversation with Mary Brown from
• 0:22
  Speaker 1: Sister Wives.
• 0:24
Speaker 2: It's one thing to get divorced.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: That's hard enough from one person, but you also got
• 0:32
Speaker 1: divorced from your sister wives in a sense too. Or
• 0:34
Speaker 1: would it feel like that? How would you describe what
• 0:37
Speaker 1: that transition has been like? These are women who were
• 0:41
Speaker 1: your sister wives, who you lived with, who you worked with,
• 0:44
Speaker 1: and who Yeah, I mean what what?
• 0:47
  Speaker 2: What's that relationship?
• 0:48
  Speaker 1: Like?
• 0:48
Speaker 3: A really interesting situation because each one of us need
• 0:53
Speaker 3: to and have the right to live our lives that
• 0:57
Speaker 3: is authentic to us and live in alignment to us,
• 1:00
Speaker 3: right And for me, really embracing the fact and accepting
• 1:06
Speaker 3: the fact that what aligns with me is not everybody
• 1:10
Speaker 3: in my family, right. It just doesn't. And it took
• 1:15
Speaker 3: me a while to really be able to come to
• 1:18
Speaker 3: accept that I don't have to have relationships with everybody
• 1:23
Speaker 3: in the family, nor do I want to. There are
• 1:26
Speaker 3: some that I absolutely choose I will not. It's not
• 1:29
Speaker 3: healthy for me, you know, It's it's just not it's
• 1:33
Speaker 3: not healthy. And so really just kind of embracing that
• 1:39
Speaker 3: is heartbreaking on a level, but also it's the best
• 1:44
Speaker 3: for me, and it's the best for them too, you know,
• 1:46
Speaker 3: because I know some of them have I'm not healthy
• 1:50
Speaker 3: for them either, right, And that's okay, that's okay. It
• 1:54
Speaker 3: just because we were in the same family doesn't mean
• 1:57
Speaker 3: we have to spend our whole lives together as friends.
• 2:01
Speaker 4: So you and Christine are now don't talk. Okay. That's
• 2:07
Speaker 4: so much different from good is there have you?
• 2:12
Speaker 3: But there's like, on my part, I don't know about her.
• 2:14
Speaker 3: On my part, there's no hate. I just don't choose
• 2:17
Speaker 3: to have her in my life.
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 2:20
Speaker 3: It's just it's not healthy and it's not safe for
• 2:22
  Speaker 3: me emotionally.
• 2:23
Speaker 4: Well, she agreed that you're the same for her, like
• 2:25
Speaker 4: you're not emotionally health and Lena, yeah, I think so.
• 2:29
Speaker 3: I think are just because we have had some really
• 2:32
Speaker 3: good times. But I think our values just don't ALIGNE.
• 2:35
Speaker 3: I know our values don't ALIGNE. There's certain things that
• 2:37
Speaker 3: I want and I need in a relationship and she
• 2:41
Speaker 3: absolutely doesn't have that. And I believe the same thing
• 2:44
Speaker 3: for her. She needs and want certain things in a relationship,
• 2:48
Speaker 3: and I don't have that for her, So for us,
• 2:51
Speaker 3: I think it's just best to just I mean, we
• 2:53
Speaker 3: could be cordial to each other if we ran into
• 2:56
Speaker 3: each other. You know, It's not like we're going to
• 2:58
Speaker 3: scratch each other's eyes out or anything like that, but
• 3:00
Speaker 3: we just on a daily basis. We're not going to
• 3:02
Speaker 3: be in others' lives.
• 3:04
Speaker 4: I tune in for that though, not kidding. I'm not
• 3:10
Speaker 4: advocating for two women going at it physically on a show,
• 3:13
Speaker 4: obviously not. I want to ask you have said this
• 3:16
Speaker 4: a couple of times about whether it's Cody, whether it's Christine,
• 3:19
Speaker 4: that you as what your your principles don't align anymore,
• 3:26
Speaker 4: but it sounds like some of youst certainly you and
• 3:28
Speaker 4: Cody might have started with the same ones. Am I
• 3:31
Speaker 4: hearing right that maybe you have grown in a different
• 3:35
Speaker 4: place and you don't want to be where they are anymore.
• 3:38
Speaker 4: I'm not saying they don't have growth, but they still
• 3:39
Speaker 4: some of their principles and being in religion and spiritual
• 3:42
Speaker 4: marriages and all. Did you just grow out of that
• 3:46
Speaker 4: community or did they change in some way as well?
• 3:51
Speaker 3: I think that we all have changed in some way,
• 3:54
Speaker 3: and so our paths are just different. Not one is
• 3:58
Speaker 3: better than the other, are just different, and they just
• 4:01
Speaker 3: like it just doesn't work. It just doesn't work. And
• 4:06
Speaker 3: you know, there was a lot of a lot of
• 4:08
Speaker 3: years that I thought, you know, where I was like
• 4:10
Speaker 3: separating myself from the religious structure. It's like, Okay, I
• 4:13
Speaker 3: don't believe in in the teachings. I don't believe in
• 4:17
Speaker 3: like that whatever it is that they were promoting, especially
• 4:21
Speaker 3: even in the polygamy aspect of it. But we're still
• 4:24
Speaker 3: a family. To me, it didn't matter the fact that
• 4:27
Speaker 3: we however we came together. We are a family now.
• 4:32
Speaker 3: And even though I didn't believe in the church structure,
• 4:34
Speaker 3: I didn't believe that well just because we don't believe
• 4:37
Speaker 3: in that we should break up a family. And so
• 4:39
Speaker 3: for me, I felt like and I worked for a
• 4:42
Speaker 3: long time, and I think that Janelle and Christine did
• 4:44
Speaker 3: as well, you know, weren't to make that family structure work.
• 4:50
Speaker 3: It's you know, it's not healthy to be in a
• 4:52
Speaker 3: relationship where you're not loved, you're not valued. You know,
• 4:56
Speaker 3: when you're told that, you know it was all a
• 4:58
Speaker 3: lie and the he never loved you and everything was
• 5:01
Speaker 3: fake anyway, you know what I mean, it's like, well, okay,
• 5:04
Speaker 3: then that's not good for me.
• 5:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, did Cody give you any reason to even want
• 5:08
  Speaker 2: to stay?
• 5:08
Speaker 1: If someone says, not only was it a mistake, but
• 5:10
Speaker 1: I never loved you that that's kind of black and white, like, yeah,
• 5:15
Speaker 1: what else would you do with that?
• 5:16
Speaker 3: And when he started saying those things that he never
• 5:19
Speaker 3: loved me, and and you know it just like I'm like,
• 5:23
Speaker 3: you know what, I'm worth more than that, and I'm
• 5:27
Speaker 3: not going to stay here just for the sake of
• 5:30
Speaker 3: we one time had a marriage, you know what I mean?
• 5:33
Speaker 2: Do you believe that? Do you believe that he never
• 5:35
  Speaker 2: loved you?
• 5:36
Speaker 3: No, I don't. I think that he loved me to
• 5:39
Speaker 3: the best of his ability at that time. And I
• 5:43
Speaker 3: think that's one of the things that just changed and shifted.
• 5:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it did.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: It's I can't even imagine, Like relationships are hard enough anyway,
• 5:52
Speaker 1: but you're bringing other people into the relationship.
• 5:55
Speaker 2: Just the dynamics that that creates, it.
• 5:57
Speaker 3: Does it brings a lot of you know, there's there's
• 6:00
Speaker 3: definitely a lot of dynamics. It's funny. So many people
• 6:03
Speaker 3: have asked through the years as we've done interviews or
• 6:06
Speaker 3: just you know, random people on social media. I don't
• 6:09
Speaker 3: know how you can't be jealous. Nobody said I wasn't.
• 6:12
  Speaker 3: Nobody said I wasn't. I've been very jealous. I've had
• 6:15
Speaker 3: a lot of emotions, and I haven't necessarily handled my
• 6:20
Speaker 3: emotions the right way, none of them.
• 6:24
Speaker 2: Nobody does. Nobody does.
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: You know?
• 6:26
Speaker 3: You do the best that you can in the situation
• 6:28
Speaker 3: that you're in. And when you when you what is
• 6:31
Speaker 3: it when you know better? You do better?
• 6:34
  Speaker 4: You know?
• 6:35
  Speaker 3: And it's like, so like we don't. I didn't handle
• 6:39
Speaker 3: emotions correct and I feel like I handle my emotions
• 6:45
Speaker 3: better now, like I have tools now, like if I
• 6:49
Speaker 3: need a scream, if I need you know, I'm still
• 6:51
Speaker 3: going to scream, but it's going to be in my
• 6:53
Speaker 3: car alone rather than ask somebody. You know what I mean?
• 6:57
Speaker 2: Yes, that is that is healthy. That is healthy.
• 7:00
Speaker 4: Doesn't make the show sound as good.
• 7:02
  Speaker 3: It doesn't. It doesn't. I don't try the drama.
• 7:06
Speaker 1: So, Mary, I know that you're obviously aware that Christine
• 7:21
Speaker 1: just came out with a memoir.
• 7:23
Speaker 2: Have you read it? Are you going to read it?
• 7:25
Speaker 2: Any desire to read it?
• 7:27
  Speaker 3: I have not read it and I probably won't. I
• 7:31
Speaker 3: I can't say that I lived it with her because
• 7:35
Speaker 3: my life experience was different than her life experience. Because
• 7:41
Speaker 3: of our different life experiences. Even though they were in
• 7:44
Speaker 3: the same life, many of the things that she's I'm
• 7:47
Speaker 3: sure talking about we had the same history, we had,
• 7:51
Speaker 3: we lived the same experiences. Our perspectives are completely different.
• 7:56
Speaker 3: And so what she's writing about is her perspective on it,
• 8:01
Speaker 3: and it's one hundred percent valid to her, you know
• 8:06
Speaker 3: what I mean. So I don't want to read it
• 8:09
Speaker 3: and be upset potentially at some of the things and
• 8:12
Speaker 3: be like, well, wait a second, that's how it happened,
• 8:15
Speaker 3: because that wouldn't be fair because in my perspective, it
• 8:20
Speaker 3: happened different, or maybe there was a little bit of
• 8:22
Speaker 3: a shift or whatever. Right, Like, even in this conversation
• 8:25
Speaker 3: that you guys are having with me right now, you're
• 8:28
Speaker 3: going to walk away from this conversation, even though we're
• 8:31
Speaker 3: both in it with a different perspective, Right, You're going
• 8:34
Speaker 3: to remember different key points because that's what's important to
• 8:38
Speaker 3: you about it, and something else is going to be
• 8:40
Speaker 3: different and important to me about it. So when she
• 8:43
Speaker 3: and I had these these experiences that were the same,
• 8:48
Speaker 3: we took something different from the experience so it's valid
• 8:53
Speaker 3: for her, one hundred percent valid for her.
• 8:56
Speaker 4: Mary, is this definitely a part of your growth? Do
• 8:58
Speaker 4: you think anyway, nineteen twenty twenty, even thirty year old
• 9:01
Speaker 4: Mary would be able to have a conversation about the
• 9:04
Speaker 4: guy she just divorced, and you were saying very kind things.
• 9:07
Speaker 4: He's not a bad guy. I believe he loved me.
• 9:09
Speaker 4: You didn't have a negative word to say, Christine. Now
• 9:11
Speaker 4: writing a book in which he is expected to certainly
• 9:14
Speaker 4: bash you in some way, form or fashion. But you
• 9:17
Speaker 4: even saying now that you know what that is her
• 9:19
Speaker 4: take her perspective and I respect it. What is that?
• 9:23
Speaker 4: And how can other people get there? Because that I
• 9:25
Speaker 4: didn't know you before? But that sounds like a woman
• 9:27
  Speaker 4: who has grown.
• 9:29
Speaker 3: Thank you. I really appreciate that. I really do, and
• 9:33
Speaker 3: it's something that yes, I've I've had to grow into
• 9:38
Speaker 3: this part of me. I really learned that part of
• 9:40
Speaker 3: me and that part of humanness that our experiences are different,
• 9:46
Speaker 3: even though there's the same, they're different and just allow
• 9:50
Speaker 3: other people to have that experience. Right, So, yeah, I
• 9:53
Speaker 3: do think that that is part of my growth.
• 9:55
Speaker 2: I'm curious, Yes, congratulations on that.
• 9:57
Speaker 1: What motivated you to grow what usually people I don't
• 10:02
Speaker 1: see a lot of times people hit rock bottom. They
• 10:04
Speaker 1: get so uncomfortable that it's either stay and suffer or grow.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: Was there a moment like.
• 10:11
Speaker 2: That for you where you had to make that choice?
• 10:13
Speaker 3: I don't know that it was one specific defining moment
• 10:17
Speaker 3: obviously ten years ago. Everybody knows my dark my dark
• 10:21
Speaker 3: moments in my life, right, So I had I had
• 10:24
Speaker 3: a really dark time in my life, but it had
• 10:27
Speaker 3: been going downhill for a while, like it had. And
• 10:33
Speaker 3: I guess we could say that was maybe my rock
• 10:35
Speaker 3: bottom and I needed to figure out how to get
• 10:37
Speaker 3: out of that. But I really started, I would say
• 10:40
Speaker 3: probably five or six years ago, like you know, I
• 10:44
Speaker 3: had a personal mentor, and I started doing you know,
• 10:47
Speaker 3: some business retreats and some personal retreats and just like
• 10:51
Speaker 3: figuring me out. And this is before I was even
• 10:55
Speaker 3: talking about divorce, right, And I just needed to figure
• 10:58
Speaker 3: out who I was. I wanted to do with my
• 11:01
Speaker 3: life separate from my marriage that had, for all intents
• 11:06
Speaker 3: and purposes, had been non existent. But I wanted to
• 11:09
Speaker 3: make my life as full as I could, and so
• 11:12
Speaker 3: I started investing in myself, like financially, education, reading, I
• 11:19
Speaker 3: read I don't read books. I audible books. Audible is
• 11:26
Speaker 3: so much easier, and I can multitask and drive and
• 11:30
Speaker 3: listen to a good book at the same time. And
• 11:32
  Speaker 3: it's rarely a novel, right Like I don't do novels.
• 11:35
Speaker 3: I do like the personal development or the financial or
• 11:39
Speaker 3: the education, those kinds of things, because I think that
• 11:44
Speaker 3: that growth and learning is very important. And I've noticed
• 11:48
Speaker 3: that as I put more of that positive into my brain,
• 11:53
Speaker 3: then I'm more positive and I'm more you know, like
• 11:58
Speaker 3: I have a better outlook on life. You look, you
• 12:00
Speaker 3: find what you're looking for. And if you're looking for
• 12:04
Speaker 3: the bad and the hate and the anger, and you
• 12:07
Speaker 3: know what I mean, if you're looking for that, you're
• 12:09
Speaker 3: gonna find it. You will find you will find it.
• 12:11
Speaker 4: We just were talking about this yesterday. That's why we're
• 12:13
Speaker 4: kind of not Yeah, I don't want.
• 12:16
Speaker 3: To find it, like it's there and come across. I'm
• 12:19
Speaker 3: not gonna look for it. I know, look for the good.
• 12:22
Speaker 4: You know, the growth that you're talking about. And you
• 12:25
Speaker 4: use that word investing in myself, and you say even
• 12:28
Speaker 4: financially investing in yourself. But we're human beings and we
• 12:32
Speaker 4: all have this no matter what an inherent desire for companionship.
• 12:36
Speaker 4: How important is it. I know you said you're single,
• 12:38
Speaker 4: not not dating anybody exclusively, but I know it's still
• 12:41
Speaker 4: pretty recent from your spiritual divorce. But right now sitting here,
• 12:46
Speaker 4: how important is it to you to have a partner,
• 12:49
Speaker 4: to have a life partner, a companion?
• 12:51
Speaker 3: It is very important to me. It's something that I want.
• 12:54
Speaker 3: I would love to have a companion, somebody that I
• 12:58
Speaker 3: can just you know, shoot a text to or you know,
• 13:00
Speaker 3: come home but to at the end of the night
• 13:02
Speaker 3: and just just have my person. But it's not so
• 13:06
Speaker 3: important to me that I will let go of myself
• 13:12
Speaker 3: to find it. So I just I feel like that
• 13:16
Speaker 3: my person will attract to me when the time is right,
• 13:20
Speaker 3: and when the person is right, you know. And I'm like,
• 13:24
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna just take anybody.
• 13:27
Speaker 4: What advice would you have for a listener or not
• 13:30
Speaker 4: someone who finds themselves starting over, but someone starting out.
• 13:34
Speaker 4: You were nineteen when you got married, You went through
• 13:36
Speaker 4: so much growth and you're a different person. Now, what
• 13:38
Speaker 4: would you tell somebody who's nineteen, twenty twenty one, twenty two,
• 13:41
Speaker 4: a young woman who is not quite done developing? What
• 13:45
Speaker 4: would you what advice would you give or even warning
• 13:48
Speaker 4: signs if that's what it called, but even encouragement maybe
• 13:51
Speaker 4: to not be in a position to where you end
• 13:54
Speaker 4: up forty fifty and go, ah, this is who I
• 13:58
Speaker 4: am and this is who I have grown into and
• 14:00
Speaker 4: now I'm starting over. You do you know what I'm saying?
• 14:02
Speaker 4: How can or is it even possible? Brof you could
• 14:05
Speaker 4: tell me this as well, that's not how it works.
• 14:08
Speaker 4: You got to go through that hell and maybe that's
• 14:10
Speaker 4: it both through life. You got to go through it.
• 14:12
Speaker 3: You have to. You have to. You have to own it,
• 14:16
Speaker 3: you have to embrace it, and you have to you
• 14:19
Speaker 3: have to excuse to do it. You have to screw up,
• 14:22
Speaker 3: and you're nobody's going to listen to any advice at
• 14:25
Speaker 3: anybody else. I mean, it's so true. It's a good point,
• 14:28
Speaker 3: but they have they have to live it. Like people
• 14:32
Speaker 3: ask me all the time. Do you regret marrying Cody?
• 14:36
Speaker 3: Do you regret polygamy? Do you regret TV show? Do
• 14:38
Speaker 3: you regret you know? Your sister wives? And no, I
• 14:43
Speaker 3: don't regret any of it because I am who I
• 14:47
Speaker 3: am today because of those experiences, I might be a
• 14:51
Speaker 3: very well likely would be a different person, and I
• 14:54
Speaker 3: might have liked that person had I not gone through
• 14:56
Speaker 3: those experiences, but I will never know what that person
• 15:00
Speaker 3: would be without those experiences. But I really really like
• 15:03
Speaker 3: who I am, and so one hundred percent I don't
• 15:07
Speaker 3: regret those experiences because it made me who I am.
• 15:10
Speaker 3: So I think if if we can look at our
• 15:14
Speaker 3: lives like it's just an experience. And you know, I
• 15:17
Speaker 3: was talking to somebody recently and she was like, yeah,
• 15:21
Speaker 3: but I don't know which decision to make on the situation,
• 15:26
Speaker 3: and it's like, well, just make one, it doesn't matter.
• 15:28
Speaker 3: But what if I choose the wrong one, then you
• 15:31
Speaker 3: make a different decision after that. You're not going to
• 15:34
Speaker 3: know it's the wrong one until you do it and
• 15:36
Speaker 3: you get into it, and maybe neither of them are wrong.
• 15:39
Speaker 3: They're just going to take you on different paths.
• 15:42
  Speaker 4: Yep.
• 15:43
Speaker 3: It's just where are you going to go with it?
• 15:44
Speaker 3: What are you going to do with it?
• 15:46
Speaker 1: You get to a certain place in your life and
• 15:48
Speaker 1: it clicks, it all makes sense. I'm curious with the
• 15:51
Speaker 1: journey you had on Sister Wives, did you get any
• 15:56
Speaker 1: lasting friendships like sisterhood? Any of the sister wife and
• 16:00
Speaker 1: you have a bond that can't be broken. How would
• 16:04
Speaker 1: you describe like, Uh, now, we don't.
• 16:06
Speaker 3: Know no one, no.
• 16:09
Speaker 2: Did you have hopes that that could change in the future.
• 16:12
Speaker 3: I am always open to healing relationships. I am always
• 16:17
Speaker 3: open to having the heart conversations, because conversations are going
• 16:22
Speaker 3: to have to be hard, especially in our family, if
• 16:26
Speaker 3: we want to move forward and heal anything and have
• 16:31
Speaker 3: any sort of relationship, They're going to have to be
• 16:33
Speaker 3: heard conversations because I have my boundaries now that I
• 16:37
Speaker 3: didn't used to have. And I think that's one of
• 16:40
Speaker 3: the things that some of the people in my family
• 16:43
Speaker 3: are recognizing about me, that I have boundaries and I'm
• 16:46
Speaker 3: not going to lay over and be walked all over anymore.
• 16:49
Speaker 3: I've always had I've always had a very strong voice,
• 16:54
Speaker 3: but I know how to use it now.
• 16:58
Speaker 4: Always had a strong voice. We heard that about to you.
• 17:00
Speaker 4: If somebody keeps telling us you're a lot, we heard it.
• 17:04
Speaker 4: We heard it from you. So you're telling us you
• 17:09
Speaker 4: and Robin, you and Janelle those relationships, you know said
• 17:12
Speaker 4: not great now? But how much are we going to
• 17:14
Speaker 4: see any difficult conversations in the upcoming season? What do
• 17:16
  Speaker 4: we see?
• 17:18
Speaker 3: I think we'll see some interactions and you know, maybe
• 17:23
Speaker 3: a little bit of healing and maybe a little bit
• 17:25
Speaker 3: of struggles, because I mean, if we're not doing that,
• 17:30
Speaker 3: then we're not cinceterized, you know what I mean.
• 17:35
Speaker 4: Don't last fifteen seasons by having high tea.
• 17:40
Speaker 1: Conflict cells, that is for sure. Do you want to
• 17:54
  Speaker 1: get married again?
• 17:56
Speaker 3: I would love to get married, Yes I would, but
• 18:00
Speaker 3: only to the right person. That's for me. I'm not
• 18:03
Speaker 3: going again. I'm not going to just jump into a
• 18:05
Speaker 3: marriage that just because I want to have a marriage, right,
• 18:10
Speaker 3: Like this person is like, well, we'll figure things out.
• 18:15
Speaker 3: We'll figure out if the we're the right person, you know,
• 18:18
Speaker 3: like Cody and I jumped into our marriage really quickly,
• 18:22
Speaker 3: and like I knew him for two months at the
• 18:25
Speaker 3: time that we got engaged, and then we're engaged for
• 18:28
Speaker 3: four months, you know what I mean, like six months
• 18:31
Speaker 3: from the time we met to the time we got married.
• 18:33
Speaker 3: I'm not doing that again.
• 18:35
Speaker 1: I have a similar experience. Yes, and we were both
• 18:37
Speaker 1: child brides and grooms. So we get it. We get it.
• 18:41
Speaker 2: You just you don't know what you don't know.
• 18:43
Speaker 4: We want to clear that up.
• 18:45
Speaker 3: I think that for me, coming from a religious culture,
• 18:49
Speaker 3: that really promoted and taught you get married quick, because
• 18:56
Speaker 3: you know, I mean, that's the thing to do. You
• 18:58
Speaker 3: want to get married and then you want to have
• 19:00
Speaker 3: all these babies and then you know your exaltation is set,
• 19:04
Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And so that's really what
• 19:07
Speaker 3: they taught in our church culture, and that's not what
• 19:12
Speaker 3: I agree with. Now.
• 19:15
Speaker 4: So Mary, you said you wanted to Definitely you had
• 19:18
Speaker 4: a quick answer, Yes, want to get married again. So
• 19:21
Speaker 4: let us know and on this look on I do
• 19:23
Speaker 4: part two on this podcast, we have made some love connections.
• 19:26
Speaker 4: Now I'm not saying we're going to put your number
• 19:28
Speaker 4: out there too, huh So yeah, So what I'm saying is, Mary,
• 19:33
Speaker 4: you have an opportunity. I am curious. What are you
• 19:36
Speaker 4: looking for? What type of guy? Characteristics, background, height, whatever,
• 19:41
Speaker 4: What are you looking for?
• 19:42
Speaker 3: Okay, I'm looking for a very nice, charismatic man who's
• 19:47
Speaker 3: very confident in who he is, not cocky, but confident.
• 19:52
Speaker 3: Somebody who knows who he is, is successful in business,
• 19:58
Speaker 3: whether it's his own or or he works for somebody.
• 20:01
Speaker 3: I don't care if somebody successful and matches my energy
• 20:05
Speaker 3: like I travel, he doesn't have to travel with me,
• 20:09
Speaker 3: but I would love for him to travel with me sometimes,
• 20:11
Speaker 3: but I would love for him to be okay if
• 20:13
Speaker 3: I have to go do work and be okay with
• 20:16
Speaker 3: me not around, you know, but also can cheer me
• 20:22
Speaker 3: on in my business building and my ventures and allow
• 20:26
Speaker 3: me to cheer him on in his as well. They
• 20:28
Speaker 3: don't have to be the same, but we need to
• 20:31
  Speaker 3: support each other.
• 20:32
Speaker 4: She just described me perfectly in describing what she wants,
• 20:39
Speaker 4: except for the cocky and confident. I'm more cocky than confident.
• 20:43
Speaker 4: That's where you lost me. Yeah, nobody would have confident.
• 20:46
Speaker 1: He's cocky, but just the right amount of cocky, just
• 20:52
Speaker 1: enough to be like, that's interesting.
• 20:54
Speaker 2: Why is he so?
• 20:55
Speaker 1: Why does he like himself so much? Maybe I should
• 20:59
Speaker 1: find out? Would you date younger? I highly suggest just
• 21:03
  Speaker 1: having lived that.
• 21:04
Speaker 3: Okay, you know what, My best friend is always telling
• 21:06
Speaker 3: me that it's okay to go younger, And there's like
• 21:09
Speaker 3: a certain cutoff where it's what's your cut off officially, cougar?
• 21:13
  Speaker 3: I don't know. So I'm fifty four. I'm closer to
• 21:17
Speaker 3: fifty five now than I am to fifty four. But
• 21:21
Speaker 3: it's really weird for me to think about dating somebody
• 21:25
Speaker 3: who's fifty because like, oh, and that's like four years.
• 21:30
Speaker 1: We have a four and a half year aged I'm
• 21:33
Speaker 1: four and a half years older than TJ.
• 21:34
Speaker 2: I'm fifty two and he just turned forty eight.
• 21:37
Speaker 4: And it's weird. Mary, it's weird to be with it.
• 21:39
Speaker 3: Yet I can see how it would be.
• 21:43
Speaker 4: No, well, you say, I thought you were going to
• 21:45
  Speaker 4: say like thirty.
• 21:46
Speaker 1: Eight or something, because you were talking about your like
• 21:49
Speaker 1: matched energy. And I will tell you I just from
• 21:52
Speaker 1: my experience, I've I've gone older, I've had the same.
• 21:55
Speaker 1: This is my first time with a young man, and
• 21:58
Speaker 1: our energies are very much aligned in a way that
• 22:01
  Speaker 1: they weren't before.
• 22:02
Speaker 3: Okay, well, you guys seem to have a good vibe,
• 22:05
Speaker 3: so that's cool. Maybe I'll maybe I'll be open to
• 22:10
Speaker 3: you know, maybe four or five years younger. We'll see
• 22:12
Speaker 3: what happens. But I don't know a forty.
• 22:14
Speaker 4: Year old totally saying, don't be closed off to it.
• 22:17
Speaker 4: And it's true. You can meet some thirty eight year
• 22:20
Speaker 4: old men who aren't even close to your youthful energy.
• 22:23
Speaker 4: It's possible. And then you meet a fifty five year
• 22:25
Speaker 4: old guy who could you know, run circles around you. You
• 22:28
Speaker 4: never know, So just you never know.
• 22:30
Speaker 3: So I'm definitely not like I mean, you know, there's
• 22:35
Speaker 3: values and there's like the energy and things like that
• 22:39
Speaker 3: that I'm definitely looking for. But I'm not like closing
• 22:42
Speaker 3: anything off, Like I'm open to options.
• 22:45
Speaker 2: So I love that.
• 22:46
Speaker 1: I love that, and I will tell you it freaked
• 22:48
Speaker 1: me out at first. Two he was laugh at me.
• 22:50
Speaker 1: I was like, does it not like you know, you
• 22:52
Speaker 1: could absolutely date someone ten years younger than you and
• 22:55
Speaker 1: you know now you're going up almost five years, and
• 22:58
Speaker 1: so you start to think.
• 22:59
Speaker 2: But it did freak me out at first.
• 23:01
Speaker 4: Freak me out too, freak me out nightly, to be honest.
• 23:05
Speaker 4: But no, Mary, we do a segment here, a thing
• 23:08
Speaker 4: we call love Stories where we interview couples and just
• 23:11
Speaker 4: ask all of them the exact same questions and it
• 23:13
Speaker 4: doesn't matter what their backgrounds are. You find this commonality
• 23:17
Speaker 4: in relationships. It would be an honor to one day
• 23:19
Speaker 4: if we could get you back with your possible partner
• 23:23
Speaker 4: for that love story series. So just throw that out there.
• 23:27
Speaker 4: We'll keep an eye on you.
• 23:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, keep your eye on me, and I get a partner,
• 23:31
  Speaker 3: invite you back.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: Well, Mary, you know what, we really appreciate this.
• 23:36
Speaker 1: We know you obviously have lived a fairly open life,
• 23:40
Speaker 1: you know, in front of the camera and living a
• 23:42
Speaker 1: life that most people are curious about or even judge.
• 23:45
Speaker 1: So I just think it's awesome when you're willing to
• 23:48
Speaker 1: be vulnerable and just say, hey, here's what I do,
• 23:52
  Speaker 1: here's what I did, and here's what I learned. So
• 23:54
Speaker 1: it does have an impact on so many people. So
• 23:56
Speaker 1: we're rooting for you. We are rooting. We always root
• 23:59
Speaker 1: for love, but we believe that there is someone out
• 24:03
Speaker 1: there for you and you're gonna find each other. I
• 24:05
Speaker 1: really do think that. So anyway, we're appreciate. I know
• 24:08
Speaker 1: the people listening who are searching for love as well.
• 24:11
Speaker 1: The whole point of the podcast is for folks who
• 24:13
Speaker 1: maybe didn't get it right the first time, but are
• 24:15
Speaker 1: still walking that path towards love. So you fit that
• 24:19
Speaker 1: bill perfectly, and I hope you've inspired a lot of
• 24:21
  Speaker 1: people who.
• 24:22
