- 0:00Speaker 1: You're waking up to Denver's Morning.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Show with Nina and Josh.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Mix 100.
- 0:05Speaker 4: Josh, I feel like, this is so bad. Are you
- 0:09Speaker 4: familiar with Alex Earle? I feel like you might be.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, I know her.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yes, yes, you're like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Well, she's like famous for like just the get ready
- 0:16Speaker 1: with me stuff, right?
- 0:17Speaker 4: Yes, so she is an influencer. She is just very,
- 0:20Speaker 4: very popular online. Yes, she's super duper hot. But I
- 0:25Speaker 4: fear she is bringing back women in 2026.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It's really bad because something just happened.
- 0:31Speaker 4: She just admitted proudly at 25 years old, a full-blown adult,
- 0:38Speaker 4: that she has never read a book.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: This is bad.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Okay, hold on. How do you get through school without
- 0:46Speaker 1: reading a book?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Did she get fully through school?
- 0:49Speaker 1: She's like, I'm pretty.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know her school history. I don't want
- 0:53Speaker 2: to be mean, say too much. I don't know.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Also, she's only 25?
- 0:56Speaker 2: She's only 25 years old.
- 0:57Speaker 1: She looks like she's like 42. Oh my gosh.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Well, I didn't want to be mean today, but you
- 1:02Speaker 2: go for it, Josh.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know if that's mean. Okay, sorry. She
- 1:04Speaker 1: has a very mature look. There we go.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I didn't know that was mean.
- 1:07Speaker 2: She's 25 years old.
- 1:09Speaker 4: She was doing a quick round of questions, doing her
- 1:11Speaker 4: influencer stuff, right? And they asked, what's the last.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Book you read?
- 1:14Speaker 4: Which is a pretty common question for that type of
- 1:17Speaker 4: quick round question type of thing. And she said, well,
- 1:19Speaker 4: I haven't ever really read a book. And then she
- 1:22Speaker 4: was like, oh, well, maybe Dr. Seuss when I was little. Like,
- 1:28Speaker 4: come on, what are we doing here?
- 1:30Speaker 3: That's really interesting because right now I feel like is
- 1:33Speaker 3: a time where a lot of women, I mean, there's
- 1:35Speaker 3: so many different books that women are reading all the time.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Oh, people are so into it.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Smart books?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Like, yeah, even I got into it. I read one
- 1:41Speaker 2: of those.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I read Verity. I mean, come on now, people.
- 1:45Speaker 3: That's interesting. I feel like that's not the norm, obviously.
- 1:49Speaker 3: So you might be right in the fact, you know,
- 1:50Speaker 3: kind of setting women back a little bit, but.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Look, she doesn't need to. I hate to say it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: She doesn't need to.
- 1:57Speaker 2: No, she doesn't.
- 1:57Speaker 4: But at the same time, if she wants to continue
- 2:00Speaker 4: in her career, if she is, I don't know what
- 2:02Speaker 4: she's trying to do, but if she wants to be
- 2:04Speaker 4: an interviewer, like a lot of the times people are
- 2:06Speaker 4: reading books and you're supposed to read their book to
- 2:09Speaker 4: do some of your homework on an interview.
- 2:11Speaker 2: If she wants to be taken seriously, read a book, girl.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Well, and just don't. I appreciate her honesty.
- 2:18Speaker 3: There's a lot of people out there that hold a
- 2:21Speaker 3: book in their hand during interviews and stuff and look
- 2:23Speaker 3: like they're reading when in reality they're not because they'll
- 2:25Speaker 3: get asked questions about that book and they're like, I
- 2:27Speaker 3: just started it. Where's the cliff notes? Yeah, exactly. Let
- 2:31Speaker 3: me get the spark notes. I appreciate her honesty, but also, yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 3: there are countless studies that show how good it is
- 2:37Speaker 3: to read a book.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but being 25 and saying I've never read a book,
- 2:41Speaker 4: that's crazy.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Put down the phone, pick up a book.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's very interesting. Okay, this gets me so excited.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Undercover Boss is coming back. So this is a show
- 2:51Speaker 3: that I loved back in the day.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It would always.
- 2:54Speaker 3: tug on your heartstrings. There was always that one person
- 2:56Speaker 3: that was working so hard and so underpaid. And the
- 2:59Speaker 3: boss would finally get to see them. And then there
- 3:00Speaker 3: was also the jerk in there that's like, I hate
- 3:03Speaker 3: my boss. And the boss is like, it's me. Hello.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It's me.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Hey. They're bringing it back. CBS just announced that they're
- 3:08Speaker 3: bringing it back. It last aired in 2022. It's now
- 3:11Speaker 3: in pre-production with a little bit of a twist. Drew Carey, yes,
- 3:15Speaker 3: that Drew Carey from The Price is Right, is going
- 3:17Speaker 3: to be joining the series as a host. Previous seasons
- 3:20Speaker 3: did not have a host. So I'm very interested to
- 3:23Speaker 3: see how this is going to go. Because normally, if
- 3:25Speaker 3: you see the person like Drew Carey, you're like, oh,
- 3:27Speaker 3: I'm on undercover boss.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:28Speaker 3: So I don't know if he's just going to be
- 3:29Speaker 3: hosting the show from like afar. And then finally, like
- 3:33Speaker 3: when the show kind of has its conclusion and then
- 3:35Speaker 3: like the boss meets the person who's working so hard,
- 3:37Speaker 3: that's when they see him.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm not sure how this is going to work, but
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'm so excited. It's coming back. I think they said next,
- 3:42Speaker 1: next year. So.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Something to look forward to for me. I like that
- 3:46Speaker 3: they're kind of bringing back reality shows because now everything's
- 3:48Speaker 3: going the streaming way. And I like that CBS is like, uh-uh,
- 3:51Speaker 3: we're going to bring back some shows to watch weekly.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I agree.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Reality shows, we need more of them. I am so
- 3:57Speaker 2: about that.
- 3:57Speaker 1: They're so addicting.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Welcome back, Drew Carey. We love you. I talked earlier
- 4:01Speaker 2: about Ella Langley. Of course, we have those Ella Langley
- 4:03Speaker 2: tickets up for grabs.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Those are popular, I've heard.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Just a little bit. Pretty much everyone wants them.
- 4:10Speaker 4: And so we do have tickets that we're giving away
- 4:12Speaker 4: here on Mix 100. And you have to text in
- 4:14Speaker 4: the keywords when you get them. We have more keywords
- 4:17Speaker 4: for you today and tomorrow. And your next keyword happens
- 4:20Speaker 4: at 8 a.m. And then shortly after that, Josh, we
- 4:25Speaker 4: have a major prize to give away. We found out
- 4:28Speaker 4: yesterday and we put up a little teaser video on
- 4:31Speaker 4: our Instagram and Facebook.
- 4:34Speaker 2: That we're giving away family four.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Packs of tickets to go see your Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a huge, huge ticket, especially after the win
- 4:47Speaker 3: they had last night, Nina.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So good. Unbelievable.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Big Rob, our boss, has got to stop leaving these
- 4:52Speaker 3: tickets on his desk because you and I, we just
- 4:55Speaker 3: walk past. He's got these big glass windows there.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We see them. We just take them. We're like, let's
- 4:59Speaker 1: give them away.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Mine.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Let's just give them away. Mine. I want to give
- 5:01Speaker 1: these to people.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Absolutely. These four packs also include so many perks with it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: It includes drinks and food that come along with it.
- 5:06Speaker 3: It's like your tickets are loaded. Yeah. with money, free
- 5:09Speaker 3: money on there as well, which is awesome. And then
- 5:12Speaker 3: I think they're taking on the St. Louis Blues that day,
- 5:13Speaker 3: so that'll be a really good game as well.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so that is just very exciting.
- 5:17Speaker 4: So 820 is when we're going to do a little
- 5:21Speaker 4: contest for that. So if you want more details on
- 5:23Speaker 4: what contest we're going to be doing at 820, go
- 5:26Speaker 4: check out the video that we put up on our
- 5:27Speaker 4: Instagram at Mix100Denver. We had some fun with that.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We did, for sure.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And we're talking about some shopping habits here.
- 5:36Speaker 4: So I personally still love to go in-store to go
- 5:40Speaker 4: shopping for clothes.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I wanted to ask you that because I feel like
- 5:43Speaker 3: you are a professional shopper.
- 5:45Speaker 1: You just gave me that vibe.
- 5:45Speaker 3: We're still getting to know each other here, and I
- 5:47Speaker 3: love it, but I definitely have that vibe that you
- 5:50Speaker 3: are Miss Professional Shopper over there.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I feel like I dabble a little bit, for sure.
- 5:57Speaker 4: But, yeah, I do enjoy still going into actual storefronts.
- 6:02Speaker 4: I hate shopping online, first of all, because you just
- 6:05Speaker 4: never know how things actually fit.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You can go through the measurements all you want.
- 6:10Speaker 4: I always try to read reviews as well because that
- 6:13Speaker 4: is helpful when people will post up reviews like true
- 6:16Speaker 4: to size or not, runs small, runs big, whatever. But
- 6:20Speaker 4: at the end of the day, if you don't actually
- 6:23Speaker 4: physically try it on, you just don't know what you're
- 6:25Speaker 4: going to get.
- 6:26Speaker 1: And for me.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Another part of me, Josh, that I don't know that
- 6:30Speaker 4: you've seen too, too much just yet, I'm a little hippie.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I am a hippie dude.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I get vibes of that, which I like. I think
- 6:36Speaker 1: that's really chill and cool.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I like it. I like it.
- 6:40Speaker 4: But when it comes to environmental stuff, I get real
- 6:44Speaker 4: passionate about it.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I love that.
- 6:46Speaker 4: With returns, online purchases, returns, and I know how much
- 6:50Speaker 4: everyone loves Amazon. Forever, I was so anti-Amazon. Because a
- 6:55Speaker 4: lot of their returns are not going anywhere except for
- 6:58Speaker 4: the landfill.
- 6:59Speaker 2: And that is just awful.
- 7:00Speaker 4: And so I'm just so almost against shopping online unless
- 7:04Speaker 4: I really have to.
- 7:06Speaker 1: For sure.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I get that. And I think, Nina, it's funny. For me,
- 7:09Speaker 3: one thing you might not know about me, I love
- 7:11Speaker 3: to shop. That's one of my guilty pleasures.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I love it. I love buying things for myself and
- 7:16Speaker 1: for people, whether it's whoever it's for. It doesn't matter.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I just like to go. But I like to... go
- 7:21Speaker 3: into stores. I like to feel what I'm going to buy.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I like a good heavy t-shirt or a heavy hoodie.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I like the weighted things.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Good quality. Yes. Good quality. And I feel like there's.
- 7:30Speaker 3: So many things that you could buy online that are
- 7:33Speaker 3: just so cheaply made and it feels that way. Right.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And I don't like that. So I am an in-store
- 7:39Speaker 3: person through and through. I love going in and feeling
- 7:42Speaker 3: and trying on what I'm going to buy. Because like
- 7:44Speaker 3: you said, You can have all the trust in the
- 7:46Speaker 3: world of reviews online.
- 7:48Speaker 1: It ain't the same.
- 7:48Speaker 4: No, it really is not the same. And we talked
- 7:51Speaker 4: a little bit last week, I think, about thrift shopping.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 4: And you've gotten into it a little bit more, but
- 7:56Speaker 4: with thrift shopping, you really can.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Find some good stuff. You want to talk about high quality.
- 8:02Speaker 3: That's where you find the gold, which is so crazy
- 8:04Speaker 3: to say because, again, I wasn't against it. It wasn't
- 8:07Speaker 3: for me, okay? It wasn't for me for the longest time.
- 8:10Speaker 3: And my brother, he got me into it. Joey, shout
- 8:12Speaker 3: out Joey. And he showed me the hidden treasures that
- 8:16Speaker 3: you can find. And I'm not even just talking clothes.
- 8:19Speaker 3: You can find anything. At a thrift store. And it
- 8:22Speaker 3: is so cool to see what he finds and what
- 8:25Speaker 3: he's showed me, like how to find.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Because now I'm looking for these things.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And you have a Denver Broncos jacket, right?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yes. Was that a thrift find?
- 8:33Speaker 2: That was a thrift find.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Thing is freaking awesome.
- 8:35Speaker 2: It's so good. And it's the throwback logo and everything.
- 8:38Speaker 1: So cool.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Little windbreaker action.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I love it. Actually, you know what?
- 8:42Speaker 3: 303-691-1649. Text us your thrift store treasure finds. I want
- 8:46Speaker 3: to know what else you have found there because- There
- 8:49Speaker 3: are so many stories of even people finding something, spending
- 8:52Speaker 3: 50 cents on it, and then all of a sudden
- 8:53Speaker 3: they find out that it's.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Worth $ 10, 000. Right.
- 8:55Speaker 3: And they sell it at an auction or something. So
- 8:58Speaker 3: I want to know your thrift store finds.
- 9:02Speaker 1: 303-691-1649. Let us know.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Please let us know. That's so exciting.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I mean, that's interesting that shopping in-store versus online.
- 9:09Speaker 2: And I don't know. There's just so.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Much to it.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I will say there's a study that came out. More
- 9:13Speaker 3: people still prefer it in-store, which I like to see. Yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Because I feel like, you know, we're so dominated by
- 9:19Speaker 3: online shopping. It's thrown in our faces with every ad
- 9:21Speaker 3: that we see on social media.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It really is.
- 9:23Speaker 3: So I like that we still can see those ads
- 9:25Speaker 3: and go, you know what? No, I'm still going to
- 9:27Speaker 3: Nordy's or I'm still going to a thrift store. I
- 9:28Speaker 3: love the Ark, you know, all that stuff.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Yes, exactly. So shout out to all the thrift stores.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Shout out to all the mom and pops out there
- 9:34Speaker 4: that are just doing their best. People still like to
- 9:36Speaker 4: go to stores. I promise you.
- 9:38Speaker 3: We do.
- 9:39Speaker 2: We do. And keep up with those fitting rooms, please.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Three things you need to know before you head into
- 9:43Speaker 4: the office today, including this viral story coming from Arizona.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Police got a call about an animal that fell down
- 9:50Speaker 4: a canal in Arizona. You know they have those canals
- 9:53Speaker 4: all over the place out there in Arizona. Well, officers
- 9:56Speaker 4: show up to the scene. There are neighbors around where...
- 10:00Speaker 4: this incident happened and the neighbors actually got this animal
- 10:03Speaker 4: out safely and held it until police and animal control
- 10:06Speaker 4: got there and to the officer's surprise they're thinking maybe
- 10:10Speaker 4: it's a dog a cat no it was an.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Emu Like Lemu Emu?
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's who it was.
- 10:19Speaker 2: A giant bird. What? The sunglasses were not included.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Oh, shoot.
- 10:24Speaker 2: But a giant emu bird all wet from the canal.
- 10:28Speaker 4: And one officer, it was actually his first week on
- 10:30Speaker 4: the job, and he's like, well, this is going to
- 10:32Speaker 4: be interesting.
- 10:33Speaker 1: That's a memorable one.
- 10:34Speaker 2: And here's the thing.
- 10:34Speaker 4: They don't know who it belongs to. And I was like, wait,
- 10:38Speaker 4: why would they question that? And then I had to
- 10:40Speaker 4: Google it. Can you own an emu in Arizona?
- 10:43Speaker 1: There's no way.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you can legally own an emu in Arizona.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Arizona's like the Australia of America. Everything goes down there.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's so weird. I've spent many different times in Arizona,
- 10:55Speaker 3: and every time I come back, I'm like, Who are
- 10:58Speaker 3: those people?
- 10:59Speaker 2: That's such a weird place.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Literally everything goes. Even the mountains don't make sense. They
- 11:03Speaker 3: just like pop up in random places around there. It's
- 11:06Speaker 3: so funny.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So Emu in Arizona, for some reason.
- 11:09Speaker 1: What is happening? That is so weird.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Well, October is one of my favorite months of the year,
- 11:13Speaker 3: and it's probably one of the best months all year round,
- 11:17Speaker 3: I think. So for sports fans out there, the MLB
- 11:20Speaker 3: World Series is going to be at the end of
- 11:21Speaker 3: this month. We got MLB playoffs throughout the month. We
- 11:24Speaker 3: also have the NFL going on. The NHL just started
- 11:27Speaker 3: and the NBA season tips off. So you have all
- 11:29Speaker 3: four major sports going on for whatever you like to watch.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I love that as well. Obviously, we have Halloween on
- 11:35Speaker 3: the 31st. We understand that.
- 11:37Speaker 1: And it's on a Saturday. Which, thank God.
- 11:39Speaker 2: It's on a Saturday.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So awesome.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I love when we have that holiday on a weekend
- 11:44Speaker 3: because you can stay up late and watch all the
- 11:45Speaker 3: scary movies you want. The other big ones are Columbus
- 11:47Speaker 3: Day or Indigenous People's Day, both on the 12th for
- 11:50Speaker 3: whatever you want to celebrate. Also, I wanted to point
- 11:52Speaker 3: out there are lesser-known holidays this month, including National Boyfriend Day,
- 11:57Speaker 3: which is October 3rd.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Hello.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Let's get the boyfriends some presents. Also, International Beer Day
- 12:04Speaker 3: and Pizza Day, both on the 9th. Those absolutely coexist.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Oh, that goes hand-in-hand. I love that.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Right?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Nina, No Bra Day is on the 13th. Hey!
- 12:12Speaker 3: Didn't know that, and I'm coming for you on October 23rd.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Slap Your Coworker Day is October 23rd.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Wow!
- 12:20Speaker 1: Didn't even know that was a holiday, but that is awesome. Actually,
- 12:23Speaker 1: hold on.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I mean, that goes both ways, so watch yourself.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I know, and you got the nails, too. Let's just
- 12:28Speaker 1: both go for Big Rob. Don't tell him. Don't tell him, though.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That would be fun.
- 12:32Speaker 3: National Cat Day is on October 29th, so a couple
- 12:35Speaker 3: other things to look forward to as well.
- 12:36Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Speaking of Halloween and October, let's talk about the top
- 12:41Speaker 4: 10 Halloween candies.
- 12:43Speaker 2: You talked about how they are as expensive as ever. Yes,
- 12:46Speaker 2: but we'll go down the list. Number 10, Twix. I
- 12:49Speaker 2: like Twix.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I love Twix.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I do too.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Left Twix or right Twix?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Ooh, right Twix.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Okay, I'm left.
- 12:54Speaker 2: All right, there you go.
- 12:55Speaker 1: We can share.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Number nine, Skittles. Number eight, we have the Haribo Gold Bears.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Oh, I like those. I actually do like those.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I love those.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of most gummy candies, but I
- 13:05Speaker 2: do like those.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I'm like solely gummy. I don't really like chocolate.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I just hate it gets so stuck in your teeth.
- 13:09Speaker 1: How funny is that?
- 13:10Speaker 2: I hate that. All right. Number seven, Sour Patch Kids.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Those are pretty good.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Those are good, yeah. I like them. First, they're sour.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Yes, then they're sweet. Number six, Kit Kats, then Snickers afterwards.
- 13:21Speaker 4: M & M' s at number four. Number three, just regular
- 13:25Speaker 4: old Hershey's milk chocolate. Number two, peanut M & Ms.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Those beat out the regular M & Ms.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Those are better. They're better. They are.
- 13:32Speaker 4: It's just a little bit more to it. And then
- 13:33Speaker 4: number one, year after year, Reese's peanut butter cups.
- 13:37Speaker 2: That's obvious.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They're the best.
- 13:38Speaker 2: They are the best.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I love a good Reese's peanut butter cup. And really
- 13:42Speaker 3: all kinds, like the dark chocolate or the milk chocolate.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Love both of them.
- 13:46Speaker 4: 100%. And one thing that did come out of this study,
- 13:49Speaker 4: I guess, which is a little shameful, I'm sorry to say,
- 13:52Speaker 4: Colorado and Wyoming have candy corn on the list for
- 13:56Speaker 4: most popular in our state.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Why do you hate on candy corn?
- 14:00Speaker 2: You're the problem, Josh.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:02Speaker 2: You are the problem.
- 14:04Speaker 3: It's nasty.
- 14:04Speaker 1: You don't even back your own claim up. You just
- 14:05Speaker 1: call me the problem?
- 14:07Speaker 2: You are the problem. No, it's gross. I'm bringing you
- 14:09Speaker 2: some tomorrow. No, I'm not going to eat it.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Why? Ew.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It's so mean.
- 14:13Speaker 2: You can bring it all you want. I'm not eating it.
- 14:15Speaker 4: I'm good. And Jim Carrey, he's a married man again.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I mean, I didn't even realize he was married twice
- 14:21Speaker 4: in the past, but he was. And now he is
- 14:24Speaker 4: on marriage number three. But rumor is that, yeah, he
- 14:28Speaker 4: married girlfriend Mina in a small private ceremony. So these
- 14:33Speaker 4: two have been together actually for a little while now,
- 14:36Speaker 4: since 2022. So I feel like the timing is right.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Things have progressed in their relationship, and now they'll live
- 14:43Speaker 4: a happy life together as man and wife, which is
- 14:46Speaker 4: exciting for Jim Carrey. It is.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Everybody likes to find someone they can spend the rest
- 14:51Speaker 3: of their life with, and even if you have to
- 14:52Speaker 3: do it three times.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Congrats to you.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Honestly, I can't even imagine being married to him because
- 14:58Speaker 3: I just feel like it would be a constant laugh fest.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It would.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Like, I don't think he can turn himself off. You know,
- 15:03Speaker 3: he's so used to being that, like, presence. So I
- 15:06Speaker 3: feel like as his new wife, she would just be
- 15:09Speaker 3: constantly laughing. How can you not fall in love with that, right?
- 15:11Speaker 2: How could you not? Exactly.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, good for the happy couple. That's cute.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Nina, after fat bear week finally concluded, we have a
- 15:18Speaker 3: new winner.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Do we?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Who is he?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Heck yeah, we do.
- 15:21Speaker 3: A bear named Backpack, which is how cute is that?
- 15:24Speaker 3: He has been crowned the winner of this year's Fat
- 15:26Speaker 3: Bear Week. Backpack defeated Bear 910. I love how one
- 15:30Speaker 3: bear is like, I'm Backpack, I'm cute. The other one
- 15:32Speaker 3: is Bear 910. So whatever that is, in the final
- 15:35Speaker 3: round by roughly 5,000 votes.
- 15:37Speaker 1: So kind of a landslide here.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Out of the more than 2.3 million votes that came
- 15:42Speaker 3: in over that week, This is funny. So they said
- 15:45Speaker 3: that the voting site actually crashed the first day due
- 15:48Speaker 3: to the overwhelming demand.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Nina, I tried to vote that day when it opened.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I couldn't get on the site. It was crashed. It
- 15:53Speaker 1: was down. I thought I was blocked. That's good. I'm glad.
- 15:56Speaker 3: He's been a fan favorite since appearing on the Parks
- 15:58Speaker 3: Live cams in 2012. He is now 20 years old
- 16:02Speaker 3: and estimated to be around 1,200 pounds.
- 16:04Speaker 1: So he is a big chunker right there.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Wow, that's a big boy.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Nina, this guy also has winning in his blood. His mother, Holly...
- 16:11Speaker 1: previously won the contest in 2019.
- 16:14Speaker 2: She did.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Absolutely legacy family, we got winning in our blood. Park
- 16:19Speaker 3: ranger Sarah Bruce described Backpack as an unusually calm bear,
- 16:23Speaker 3: which I love. He's more of a stoic presence on
- 16:26Speaker 3: the river, she said, and he holds his own very quietly.
- 16:29Speaker 1: So we love a nice, peaceful chonker, right?
- 16:31Speaker 2: So shout out to Backpack.
- 16:32Speaker 1: He does, absolutely.
- 16:33Speaker 2: He eats a lot.
- 16:33Speaker 1: 1200 pounds, come on now.
- 16:40Speaker 2: And the news is official.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Paramount is going to be merging with Warner Brothers and
- 16:45Speaker 4: staying in California. So this took a while to figure out.
- 16:48Speaker 4: And Paramount was ready to walk out of the state completely.
- 16:51Speaker 4: But this $ 11 billion settlement, it orders the company to
- 16:56Speaker 4: release at least 30 films a year. So we're going
- 16:59Speaker 4: to be getting a lot of new movies.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Wow.
- 17:01Speaker 4: And invest over a billion dollars in film production and
- 17:04Speaker 4: training for its workers, which is great for the economy
- 17:07Speaker 4: as well. So when this sale goes through, a lot.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Is coming together.
- 17:11Speaker 4: CNN, CBS News, HBO Max, Paramount +, Warner Brothers, and
- 17:16Speaker 4: Paramount Pictures, all under the same umbrella.
- 17:19Speaker 2: That's massive right there.
- 17:21Speaker 3: That is, and look, California isn't California without Paramount being there,
- 17:26Speaker 3: or Paramount being there. It's been there for so long.
- 17:29Speaker 3: It needs to, it's paramount that it stays there. So
- 17:32Speaker 3: I'm glad that it is staying there. But I understand
- 17:35Speaker 3: why it took so long, because you just said that
- 17:36Speaker 3: merged like half of every TV movie series conglomerate together
- 17:41Speaker 3: right there.
- 17:41Speaker 4: There's a lot of money behind this, a lot of
- 17:44Speaker 4: big companies and big names and big industries and all
- 17:47Speaker 4: of that coming together. So yeah, it took a while,
- 17:50Speaker 4: and it was crazy that they were about to walk away,
- 17:52Speaker 4: but they figured it out.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Good.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'm glad. You know what? They talked and got through it.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Good for them.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Look at them. Three things you need to know before
- 17:58Speaker 4: you go into the office today. Like six Denver Summit
- 18:02Speaker 4: FC players... are going to travel across the world to
- 18:05Speaker 4: represent their national teams during the upcoming October FIFA international break.
- 18:11Speaker 4: So going into a break right now. But, yeah, they
- 18:14Speaker 4: got two players representing Canada, one going to Japan, one
- 18:19Speaker 4: going to Germany, and two for the U.S.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Women's national team.
- 18:22Speaker 4: And all of these players play for us out here
- 18:25Speaker 4: for Denver Summit.
- 18:26Speaker 3: That's one of the things you've got to love to see.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I mean, those players are known internationally. I know Janine Sonis,
- 18:31Speaker 3: she has played for Team Canada before in the Olympics.
- 18:33Speaker 3: She's a Highlands Ranch girlie. She's from here.
- 18:35Speaker 1: She went to my high school, my alma mater.
- 18:38Speaker 3: I love seeing her succeed in everything that she's ever done,
- 18:42Speaker 3: along with all the other women that are playing. for
- 18:45Speaker 3: Denver Summit FC and now across the world, right?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Exactly. Across the world.
- 18:49Speaker 4: And that's such a variety of different countries that they're from,
- 18:53Speaker 4: that they get to travel and go represent and play for.
- 18:56Speaker 4: And then they get to come back home here and
- 18:58Speaker 4: play for us right afterwards again.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Putting Denver on the map, right?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I love it.
- 19:02Speaker 3: So congrats to all you guys out there. We're going
- 19:03Speaker 3: to keep it with the sports as well. Avs laid
- 19:06Speaker 3: a beating on the LA Kings last night to open
- 19:10Speaker 3: the season.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It was awesome.
- 19:11Speaker 3: The game started at like midnight. So if you didn't
- 19:13Speaker 3: get to see it, it was a late game, 8.30 PM.
- 19:16Speaker 3: It's midnight for me and you essentially. So I did
- 19:19Speaker 3: stay up. I'm very tired this morning. I stayed up
- 19:21Speaker 3: and watched the whole thing. I can't, I told myself
- 19:23Speaker 3: I wasn't going to do it, Nina, and I just can't.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I have to watch the games. I'm so addicted to them.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I mean, and then the first game too, like it's exciting.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It is.
- 19:32Speaker 3: And I don't know why the NHL hates me, but
- 19:34Speaker 3: they always make it so late at night, but It's fine,
- 19:37Speaker 3: Nathan McKinnon had two goals in typical Nathan McKinnon fashion,
- 19:41Speaker 3: and an assist, and then also beat the crap out
- 19:44Speaker 3: of an LA Kings player. Like, Nate's not necessarily a fighter.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I know he's a very fiery player, Like he always
- 19:50Speaker 3: looks like he hates his life. No, Nathan McKinnon is
- 19:53Speaker 3: just very focused and a fiery player. But last night
- 19:56Speaker 3: he did get into a fight after the LA Kings
- 19:58Speaker 3: player kind of started to beat on a couple of
- 20:01Speaker 3: the Avs players.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Nate was like, absolutely not. No way.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Not my teammates. And that fight was intense. And it
- 20:08Speaker 4: kind of went on for a long.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Time, I feel like.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. It was another right by Nate. Another right
- 20:12Speaker 1: by Nate. Another right by Nate. And then he threw off.
- 20:14Speaker 3: The guy's helmet, threw the player down, started wailing on
- 20:17Speaker 3: him again until the refs got on him. And then
- 20:19Speaker 3: Nate took off his own helmet and threw it against
- 20:21Speaker 3: the boards. I'm like, bro, it's game one.
- 20:25Speaker 2: We still need you. I know.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm also like, please don't get injured. Please don't get injured.
- 20:29Speaker 3: You love seeing him stand up for his teammates. Obviously,
- 20:32Speaker 3: the NHL is huge on that. You love seeing that.
- 20:34Speaker 3: But I'm also like, please don't.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Break your hand.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Please be okay. No, seriously.
- 20:37Speaker 3: He had the Gordie Howe hat trick last night. Goal
- 20:40Speaker 3: assist in a fight. But shout out to the Avs
- 20:42Speaker 3: starting off the season in typical Avs fashion.
- 20:44Speaker 1: They're Stanley Cup favorites.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Again this year. You know, knock on all the wood.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I'm just saying they're Stanley Cup favorites. So let's keep
- 20:51Speaker 3: this season going.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I love it.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Let's absolutely.
- 20:53Speaker 4: And I just want to mention really quick because we
- 20:55Speaker 4: do have Avs tickets we're giving away. That happens at
- 20:58Speaker 4: about 820. So we're not very far off from that.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Stick around.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Mix 100. 820 is your chance to win four tickets.
- 21:05Speaker 4: to Saturday's game to see your Colorado avalanche. All right,
- 21:08Speaker 4: the last thing you need to know, Twitch is trending
- 21:10Speaker 4: once again. It's becoming, just gaining in popularity, and it
- 21:14Speaker 4: always has been pretty popular for live streaming and things
- 21:16Speaker 4: like that, but Twitch is definitely the default, and it
- 21:20Speaker 4: has started up a conversation about what Twitch is and
- 21:24Speaker 4: why people watch so many live streams nowadays.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And honestly, it kind of comes.
- 21:29Speaker 4: Down to, like, this is the modern version of TV
- 21:32Speaker 4: on in the background. You just throw up a Twitch
- 21:35Speaker 4: stream of your favorite streamer. And it's also a hangout for.
- 21:38Speaker 2: A lot of people.
- 21:39Speaker 4: I talked about the other day, people are not socializing
- 21:42Speaker 4: in real life, in person, as much anymore.
- 21:44Speaker 2: And a lot of it is because of things like this.
- 21:47Speaker 1: They just.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Hang out on Twitch.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a Twitch chat room as well. Those
- 21:50Speaker 1: type of things.
- 21:51Speaker 3: You can come back and meet the same people that
- 21:53Speaker 3: watch your favorite streamer as well. I mean, it's so funny.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I mean, a couple years ago when, first of all,
- 21:58Speaker 3: video games took off. And you're like, we play video games, right?
- 22:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 3: And then a couple years ago I saw people watching
- 22:03Speaker 3: people play video games and I was like, that will
- 22:05Speaker 3: never take off.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Watching other people play video, why would you do that?
- 22:09Speaker 3: And then I started watching them and I'm like, they're
- 22:11Speaker 3: so good, it is kind of like watching an elite sport,
- 22:14Speaker 3: you know?
- 22:15Speaker 1: They're so good at this certain thing. It's an e-sport.
- 22:18Speaker 3: And it's cool to watch how amazing they are at that.
- 22:23Speaker 1: It's another thing.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I've kind of fallen victim to watching people on Twitch
- 22:27Speaker 3: as well, so I get why it's the number one platform, right?
- 22:29Speaker 4: Same. And I also like to watch people when they're
- 22:32Speaker 4: playing not seriously.
- 22:33Speaker 2: They're playing to be funny, to do funny things.
- 22:36Speaker 1: That's the best.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Because sometimes it is just absolutely hilarious.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so I can see why it'd be number one.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I fall victim to it. I like it.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Same, same.
- 22:44Speaker 4: We have some news about Sia. She sold half of
- 22:47Speaker 4: her music catalog for $ 180 million.
- 22:49Speaker 2: She did? And out of that 180, she gets 165
- 22:55Speaker 2: million for herself.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Not bad. Yeah, that's a good payday.
- 22:59Speaker 4: But the thing with this is her ex-husband is already like, hey,
- 23:03Speaker 4: can I have.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Some of that?
- 23:05Speaker 4: So.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Your ex for a reason, big guy.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing.
- 23:08Speaker 4: These two have been really messy in the past, throwing
- 23:11Speaker 4: each other under the bus to the judge when it
- 23:13Speaker 4: comes to custody of their child together, and this divorce
- 23:16Speaker 4: has been messy. And while they are technically divorced, and
- 23:20Speaker 4: you would think he doesn't have any rights to this money,
- 23:24Speaker 4: You know, they were married for a while, so his
- 23:26Speaker 4: name is Dan. He has agreed to waive any rights
- 23:30Speaker 4: to that money if Sia gives him $ 1 million, which
- 23:34Speaker 4: is actually not bad out of $ 165 that she gets.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I was like, she.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Won't even notice that's gone, to be honest.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. But, hold on, there's more to the story.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Because all of that money she got for selling half
- 23:47Speaker 4: her music catalog for the $ 180, 000, That was all stuff
- 23:52Speaker 4: that she had done before getting married to him. So
- 23:56Speaker 4: that's why he has less rights to that money. But
- 23:59Speaker 4: there is another $ 15 million that Sia is getting for
- 24:03Speaker 4: songs that she made after they got married. And that's
- 24:06Speaker 4: going to be a different battle between them.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Did he help write the songs?
- 24:10Speaker 2: Doesn't matter.
- 24:10Speaker 4: They were married between. It just depends on what the
- 24:13Speaker 4: prenup said, et cetera, et cetera. Talk about messy.
- 24:16Speaker 1: That is messy.
- 24:17Speaker 2: It really is.
- 24:17Speaker 4: So Sia for now, I mean, it's annoying because she's
- 24:21Speaker 4: going to have to battle him for a different set
- 24:23Speaker 4: of money anyway. But I kind of feel like just
- 24:26Speaker 4: give him the Millie, you know?
- 24:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. That's the easiest way out for sure.
- 24:29Speaker 2: For sure.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I don't know. Well, hey. Pete Davidson, the ubiquitous Pete Davidson, Nina.
- 24:34Speaker 3: He's been around everywhere, known for SNL and virtually dating
- 24:37Speaker 3: every woman in Hollywood.
- 24:39Speaker 1: He is back up.
- 24:40Speaker 3: He's opening up about really hitting rock bottom in 2023.
- 24:43Speaker 3: He had a bunch of relapses and drug problems, right?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Do you remember him going.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Through all that stuff?
- 24:47Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Well, yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 3: So he said, essentially, he kind of started turning numb
- 24:52Speaker 3: to drugs because of how much he was doing them.
- 24:54Speaker 3: I'm not going to talk about the actual drugs he
- 24:56Speaker 3: was doing, but he was doing.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Illicit hard drugs.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Like real bad stuff.
- 25:00Speaker 1: These are bad ones.
- 25:00Speaker 3: He said, I ended up starting to essentially feel high
- 25:04Speaker 3: when I wasn't even doing them. So he's like, that
- 25:06Speaker 3: was a massive problem.
- 25:08Speaker 2: That's a big red flag.
- 25:09Speaker 1: He had a.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Literal wake-up call from his mom and then he checked
- 25:12Speaker 3: himself into rehab and he said, for what it's worth now,
- 25:14Speaker 3: I am almost completely sober. He goes, a few beers
- 25:17Speaker 3: a year with friends. And I'm like, okay, that's fine, whatever.
- 25:19Speaker 3: He goes, I don't mess with drugs anymore. It's been
- 25:22Speaker 3: two or three years since I've done anything hard, like
- 25:24Speaker 3: the massive amounts of drugs he was doing.
- 25:26Speaker 1: And he goes, And now it's been over a year
- 25:28Speaker 1: off of weed as well.
- 25:29Speaker 3: He said, oddly enough, weed was the hardest one to
- 25:31Speaker 3: quit because he's been doing that ever since he was
- 25:33Speaker 3: a child.
- 25:34Speaker 1: But he goes, now it's easy to say no to
- 25:36Speaker 1: everything because he has a kid.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Oh, good for him.
- 25:38Speaker 3: He goes, having a child really kind of sobered him up, literally,
- 25:41Speaker 3: from everything.
- 25:42Speaker 4: It forced that responsibility to actually do it because it's
- 25:46Speaker 4: not just you you have to worry about.
- 25:47Speaker 1: No, that's the thing.
- 25:48Speaker 3: And I've heard a lot of things about that from dads, especially,
- 25:51Speaker 3: that have had addiction problems. They say, The first second
- 25:55Speaker 3: I look at having a child, it changes everything. And
- 25:58Speaker 3: I think that's a beautiful story. He loves his little
- 25:59Speaker 3: kid now and he loves being a dad.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Well, that's so great for Pete Davidson. I was one
- 26:03Speaker 2: of those girls that had a crush on him for sure.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Why?
- 26:07Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Something about him, he's goofy and he's funny and he's
- 26:10Speaker 4: not afraid to just be dumb.
- 26:13Speaker 2: There's something about that.
- 26:14Speaker 3: He looks like a cartoon character, is that it? Love
- 26:18Speaker 3: you Pete, you are funny.
- 26:19Speaker 2: That and I heard some other rumors about Pete Davidson.
- 26:22Speaker 4: But anyway.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Next story, next story. We all heard those.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Macklemore, he turned this whole thing around for himself. So
- 26:30Speaker 4: his three date international free Palestine tour in Dublin, Paris,
- 26:34Speaker 4: and London, sold out within hours of going on sale,
- 26:37Speaker 4: day one. So he says he's completely blown away. The
- 26:40Speaker 4: shows were put together quickly with the belief that musicians
- 26:43Speaker 4: can stand in solidarity with Palestinians, raise money, and use
- 26:47Speaker 4: their platforms for activism. So no doubt he's going to
- 26:50Speaker 4: be adding more shows. I mean, he talked about doing
- 26:52Speaker 4: some in the States, hasn't announced anything just yet. But
- 26:55Speaker 4: the fact, and I know it's only three dates, but
- 26:58Speaker 4: the fact that it did sell out day one is
- 27:01Speaker 4: pretty impressive. So I wonder how big that this tour
- 27:05Speaker 4: is going to end up being, which- It's real interesting
- 27:08Speaker 4: for Ed Sheeran, on the other hand.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I know.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I'm like, it's so funny. He really did turn this
- 27:11Speaker 3: whole thing around for himself, which is awesome. I think
- 27:13Speaker 3: he also said that all the proceeds are going to
- 27:15Speaker 3: something to.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Help Palestinians, which is great.
- 27:17Speaker 1: We love that. Some non-profits, for sure. But also, yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 1: I'm like, I like Ed, and I feel bad for him.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I know. I'm like, this dude's falling apart over there.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I know. He didn't ask for any of this.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Poor Ed Sheeran.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I still feel for him. I know.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Good morning from Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh
- 27:31Speaker 4: on Mix 100.
- 27:32Speaker 2: How exciting, Josh. I blocked out the phone lines already.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I had to.
- 27:36Speaker 1: You had to.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I had to block them right now.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Blowing up.
- 27:38Speaker 2: They were. So we want to give everyone a fair chance.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Because we do have this family four-pack of tickets that
- 27:44Speaker 4: include a meal and a drink for each person to
- 27:48Speaker 4: Saturday's Avs game.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Which is awesome.
- 27:50Speaker 3: You're essentially going to this whole thing for free. You're
- 27:53Speaker 3: going to get the food. You're going to get the drinks.
- 27:55Speaker 3: You're going to watch the Avs beat down the St.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Louis Blues. Sorry, Nina. I know you're from there.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I only lived there for a little while.
- 28:02Speaker 1: I was like, you've got to be an Avs fan
- 28:03Speaker 1: at this point. Of course. You have to.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Of course.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Of course I am, especially after everything that happened at
- 28:08Speaker 4: the game yesterday.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I'm just fighting words. Yeah, right? Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So here's how this is going to work.
- 28:14Speaker 4: We are going to ask people to call at 303-691-1MIX,
- 28:18Speaker 4: and we are going to ask you to give us
- 28:20Speaker 4: your best Alan Roach impression.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It's his goal call, right?
- 28:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Everybody knows that famous Alan Roach goal call.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 28:28Speaker 1: We have someone better, right?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Here, we'll play it for you right now.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Here you go.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Oh!
- 28:34Speaker 1: Avalanche goals! I mean, it's iconic. Iconic. It's so good.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Come on. I love it.
- 28:42Speaker 4: We want you to give your best impression of just that.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Avalanche goal. And you can't forget the goal at the end.
- 28:48Speaker 2: That's important.
- 28:49Speaker 3: That's so important. It's the goal call. But we need
- 28:52Speaker 3: you to do it with Alan Rocha's voice. So stretch
- 28:54Speaker 3: out those vocal cords. Drink some tea. Chug some tea
- 28:58Speaker 3: really quick. Clear it out.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And then we want to hear you pretty much shout
- 29:02Speaker 1: into the phone.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Pretty much.
- 29:04Speaker 4: So go ahead, fill up those phone lines, 303-691-1649. That
- 29:06Speaker 4: is the number for you to call. And if you
- 29:07Speaker 4: get through, we're going to see your best impression. The
- 29:15Speaker 4: first Family Pack game of the season. That is this
- 29:18Speaker 4: one coming up this Saturday. Family Pack ticket packages are
- 29:21Speaker 4: customizable to your family size. That includes a ticket, meal,
- 29:25Speaker 4: and a drink. So this offer is available right now
- 29:28Speaker 4: at Ticketmaster.com. Or if you want to win four of
- 29:31Speaker 4: them right now, call 303-691-1649. Look at those phone lines
- 29:36Speaker 4: fill up immediately.
- 29:37Speaker 1: I love it.
- 29:38Speaker 4: We have six contestants on the line. the line to
- 29:40Speaker 4: give us their best Alan Roach impression. This is going
- 29:44Speaker 4: to be tough.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Yeah, this is really exciting.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I cannot wait to hear what they're all going to
- 29:48Speaker 3: sound like because I feel like they're all going to
- 29:49Speaker 3: be so different but also so enthusiastic.
- 29:52Speaker 1: So I'm excited for it.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 29:53Speaker 2: So contestant number one, Ashley, give us your best impression.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Avalanche Gold. All right.
- 30:00Speaker 1: All right.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Starting off strong. I like the enthusiasm there.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:06Speaker 3: So we're going to put you on a quick hold.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Next up, Cecilia from Denver.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Okay, here it goes.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Avalanche Gold. Ooh, that little ruffly in your throat.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I like that. I felt the grovelly voice there. I
- 30:20Speaker 1: like that one. All right, okay.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Third on the line, Liz in Wheat Ridge. Go for it.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Avalanche Gold.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Okay, whoa.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Liz, that's pretty good. I liked that one. That one
- 30:34Speaker 1: might be my favorite. So far, we'll see. Courtney in Brighton,
- 30:38Speaker 1: you're up next. All right. Colorado Avalanche, go! All right, okay.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I like the enthusiasm. There we go. All right, Courtney.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Tony and Parker, show us what you got.
- 30:49Speaker 1: All right. I got to do it well because I
- 30:52Speaker 1: met him once, so it's important. Pressure's on then.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Oh, the rumbly grumbly down there.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I like it. That was deep. Yeah, got to get
- 31:04Speaker 1: that gravel in there. Pulled that out of your soul.
- 31:07Speaker 1: For real. Oh, thank you.
- 31:09Speaker 2: All right, Tony, we're going to put you on hold.
- 31:11Speaker 2: We have one more contestant to get to. Just hang
- 31:13Speaker 2: with us, okay? Will do. Kim is our final contestant.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Show us what you got.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Avalanche, go!
- 31:20Speaker 1: Oh, that was good.
- 31:21Speaker 2: That was a good one.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I like it.
- 31:25Speaker 2: All right, Kim. Thank you so much.
- 31:27Speaker 4: We're going to put you on hold. We got some
- 31:29Speaker 4: deciding to do, okay? Just hang with us, okay?
- 31:32Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 31:32Speaker 2: All righty. All right. We really do need to narrow
- 31:35Speaker 2: it down, I think, Josh.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, those were all so good. I think I have
- 31:39Speaker 1: a favorite. We've got to talk this out. Let's talk
- 31:41Speaker 1: this out.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to be right back. We're going to
- 31:43Speaker 2: talk this out.
- 31:44Speaker 4: We're going to narrow it down, and we will get
- 31:45Speaker 4: a winner for these avalanche tickets coming up on Mix 100.
- 31:48Speaker 4: We are doing your best Alan Roach impression to try
- 31:51Speaker 4: to win a four-pack of tickets to see your Colorado avalanche.
- 31:54Speaker 2: This Saturday comes with food and drink and everything.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Everything. It's awesome.
- 31:58Speaker 3: It's going to be so much fun. And Nina, we
- 32:00Speaker 3: narrowed it down. Finally, we got our final three contestants, right?
- 32:04Speaker 2: We did.
- 32:05Speaker 4: So Cecilia is one of the final three. How about
- 32:09Speaker 4: we have her do it again?
- 32:10Speaker 1: I think we should. Okay, okay.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Cecilia, hi. I just want to say congratulations. You made
- 32:15Speaker 2: it to the final three.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Great.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 32:19Speaker 4: So we have to narrow it down, obviously, to one winner.
- 32:23Speaker 2: So we want to hear from you again.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Give us your best.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Avalanche Gold!
- 32:33Speaker 4: Ooh, I can tell you kicked it up a notch
- 32:35Speaker 4: right there.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You did. I could feel that one. I did.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I really want these tickets.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I know, I know.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Okay, we're going to hear from our other two, and
- 32:43Speaker 4: then we'll let you know who ends up winning, okay?
- 32:45Speaker 3: Great, thank you.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Liz, congratulations. You made it to the final three.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I can feel the tense right there. You're so tense.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I'm a little tense. Saturday is my oldest son's birthday.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 32:59Speaker 1: So you're fighting for somebody here.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm fighting for my kid right now.
- 33:04Speaker 1: I love it. Okay, Liz.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Well, you made it to the final three. So far,
- 33:07Speaker 2: so good.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Let's see if you can do it again because we
- 33:11Speaker 4: just need to hear from everyone one more time.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Avalanche!
- 33:16Speaker 3: Goal!
- 33:18Speaker 1: That's so good.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Honestly, that's so good.
- 33:20Speaker 1: You're digging deep. I felt a little bit more from
- 33:23Speaker 1: you this time. I loved it. That was good.
- 33:25Speaker 2: All right, Tony, you are up. You made it to
- 33:27Speaker 2: the final three. Let's hear your next impression. Go for it.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Oh, goodness. All right, the pressure's on.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Here we go. Oh, okay. I like that one. I
- 33:38Speaker 1: think I got deeper that time.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I think so. I didn't know it was possible, but
- 33:42Speaker 2: you did.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Josh.
- 33:44Speaker 2: All three of these guys, they're great.
- 33:46Speaker 1: So good.
- 33:46Speaker 2: They really are. But honestly, I feel like we have
- 33:49Speaker 2: a clear winner.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I do too. And I think we came to the
- 33:52Speaker 1: conclusion right away, both you and I.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I think so.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Do you want to let them know?
- 33:56Speaker 2: Okay, let's do it. Hi, Liz. How are you?
- 33:59Speaker 3: I'm good. I'm still here.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I know.
- 34:02Speaker 2: You're fighting for these tickets. Your throat may feel a
- 34:05Speaker 2: little sore from, you know, yelling out all those.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Everything. Yes.
- 34:09Speaker 3: I know.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Break out the tea and honey, right?
- 34:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Well, Liz, tell your son happy birthday. You're going to
- 34:18Speaker 2: the game!
- 34:18Speaker 3: Woo-hoo!
- 34:19Speaker 2: Woo-hoo!
- 34:20Speaker 3: Yes! Liz, you completely blew us away with how good
- 34:26Speaker 3: you were able to do an Alan Roach impression of
- 34:28Speaker 3: all things.
- 34:29Speaker 1: You had the gravelly voice. You really got down in there,
- 34:31Speaker 1: and we were absolutely in love with the way you
- 34:33Speaker 1: did it.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Thank you guys so much.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Oh, you're welcome.
- 34:39Speaker 4: And I think, honestly, what won it for you is
- 34:41Speaker 4: you also had the timing down.
- 34:43Speaker 1: You did. You kind of hold on to the A
- 34:45Speaker 1: a little bit longer. You drew it out. It's like
- 34:48Speaker 1: you've heard a couple goal calls. Yes.
- 34:49Speaker 4: I may or may not watch every game with that kid.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I love it.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Well, Liz, we are sending you and your family to
- 35:00Speaker 4: the Avs game on Saturday. You get four tickets, and
- 35:04Speaker 4: it is the Family Pack game, so it includes a
- 35:06Speaker 4: meal and a drink for each person. Happy birthday to
- 35:09Speaker 4: your son. It's going to be so much fun.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yes, happy birthday, Oliver.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Thank you guys so much.
- 35:14Speaker 1: You're so cute. Happy birthday, Oliver.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Oliver, we love you guys.
- 35:17Speaker 4: And tell me what station is sending you to see
- 35:20Speaker 4: your Colorado avalanche.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Mix 100.
- 35:24Speaker 4: It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh on Mix 100.
- 35:27Speaker 4: And Josh, you found this story of a woman locally
- 35:31Speaker 4: in Colorado that's kind of going viral right now because
- 35:35Speaker 4: a literal miracle happened on the road.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it was up in Loveland. So a Thompson Valley
- 35:40Speaker 3: EMS crew got one of the more exciting calls from
- 35:44Speaker 3: from a mother or a soon-to-be expecting mother the other day,
- 35:48Speaker 3: and it's because she went into labor a little bit
- 35:50Speaker 3: earlier than she expected, and so they went to go
- 35:53Speaker 3: pick her up and take her to the hospital, right?
- 35:54Speaker 3: Pretty routine for an EMS cure. I feel like they
- 35:56Speaker 3: get that a lot. However, the thing that was not
- 35:58Speaker 3: routine was that as they were transporting the mother to
- 36:02Speaker 3: the hospital is when she went into labor much quicker
- 36:05Speaker 3: than everybody thought they were going to. So for the
- 36:08Speaker 3: safety of the mother and the baby, medics actually pulled
- 36:10Speaker 3: over on I-25, of all things. No way! Yeah, right
- 36:14Speaker 3: on I-25, just south of mile marker 263.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And they delivered the baby.
- 36:19Speaker 3: So the baby was born in the back of the
- 36:20Speaker 3: ambulance at 7.54 AM. And the whole crew was ecstatic.
- 36:25Speaker 3: They love these calls because they're like, we're excited to
- 36:27Speaker 3: kind of bring a new baby into the world with you.
- 36:30Speaker 3: I mean, EMS crews have to deal with a lot.
- 36:33Speaker 3: We understand that. And some of that stuff that they
- 36:34Speaker 3: deal with is not as positive as bringing a baby
- 36:37Speaker 3: into the new world. So Thompson Valley EMS said that
- 36:40Speaker 3: They transported the baby and the mother after they delivered
- 36:43Speaker 3: the baby. And they said both the mother and the
- 36:45Speaker 3: baby are completely healthy following the literal delivery to the
- 36:49Speaker 3: hospital of the baby.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. That's insane. So the fact that the baby,
- 36:54Speaker 2: it was coming regardless. The baby's like, I'm ready. I
- 36:56Speaker 2: am here. Let me out right now.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Well, and I think so for me as someone and you,
- 37:01Speaker 3: we've never had kids. And so I'm always like, that's
- 37:04Speaker 3: my biggest fear is like not getting to the hospital
- 37:07Speaker 3: on time.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Because I'm a guy.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I have.
- 37:10Speaker 3: no flippin' clue how that works. I mean, I understand
- 37:13Speaker 3: your water breaks, and then you.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Have- You went to health class that one time, but
- 37:16Speaker 2: you know.
- 37:17Speaker 3: But I'm also, I'm like, I don't know anything about
- 37:19Speaker 3: growing a child inside of you, so. It's just one
- 37:21Speaker 3: of those things that for me, whenever I do become
- 37:23Speaker 3: a dad, I'm like, okay, I got to make sure
- 37:25Speaker 3: everything's packed.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Everything's ready. We're ready to go.
- 37:27Speaker 2: You got to be prepared.
- 37:28Speaker 1: At a moment's notice.
- 37:29Speaker 4: But that's the funny thing about labor sometimes is no
- 37:33Speaker 4: matter how prepared you may be, it can just happen
- 37:38Speaker 4: in any way that it wants to happen.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Out of nowhere. And it's so funny.
- 37:40Speaker 3: My mom, you know, we have five kids in the
- 37:42Speaker 3: family and the first four are were all born, I
- 37:45Speaker 3: don't wanna say normally, but kind of normally. And then
- 37:48Speaker 3: the last one she had was a surprise, and he
- 37:50Speaker 3: came early, and everything was a mess, and it's just like,
- 37:52Speaker 3: so it's so funny how even as an experienced birth giver,
- 37:55Speaker 3: as my mom, she has the last one, and everything
- 37:57Speaker 3: goes haywire there, and it's just, it's so, you can
- 38:01Speaker 3: never be prepared enough for this.
- 38:03Speaker 1: And I think it's awesome.
- 38:05Speaker 3: I was thinking about, okay, baby born on the side
- 38:07Speaker 3: of the road, what are you going to call it?
- 38:08Speaker 2: Tire or.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Ambulance? What do you name this thing? You can't just
- 38:13Speaker 1: name it like Josh.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Right, right. I mean, that name is so boring.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Stab me.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Sorry. If you delivered a baby on the side of
- 38:22Speaker 2: the road, yeah. I mean, you kind of have to
- 38:24Speaker 2: come up with one of those types of names.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Grass?
- 38:26Speaker 2: No. There's some decent names out there like Lane.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Okay, I like that one.
- 38:32Speaker 2: It was mile marker which?
- 38:35Speaker 3: 263.
- 38:35Speaker 4: 263. I mean, you're not going to call your baby
- 38:37Speaker 4: mile marker 263, but you could call him Miles.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Miles, that's a good name.
- 38:43Speaker 1: We could call him Miles Mark. There you go. Miles Mark,
- 38:45Speaker 1: there we go.
- 38:45Speaker 2: First and middle name.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I like that.
- 38:47Speaker 2: There's also rider, journey if it's a girl.
- 38:50Speaker 1: That's beautiful. It was a journey, haven't you? That was great.
- 38:53Speaker 2: There you go, yes. The journey on the way to
- 38:55Speaker 2: the hospital didn't quite go as planned, but.
- 38:57Speaker 1: We love you. It's way better than mine.
- 39:00Speaker 2: You're like, tire, grass?
- 39:01Speaker 1: What, Josh? Oh, my gosh. You know what? You just
- 39:04Speaker 1: stick with your name.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Ambulance?
