- 0:09Speaker 2: by Frostbrew Corslet Choose Chill. Seahawks nineteenth practice of the
- 0:14Speaker 2: preseason was yesterday. Top rookie Derarian Price returned to full
- 0:18Speaker 2: participation after he missed the previous five full practices with
- 0:21Speaker 2: a sore upper leg. He went right into the first
- 0:24Speaker 2: team offense. They can head off from Sam Darnold, first
- 0:26Speaker 2: round draft pick, is on track to be the lead
- 0:28Speaker 2: running back for Seattle Week one, September ninth, Think It's
- 0:30Speaker 2: New England. Tory Horton did not practice. Coach Mike McDonald
- 0:33Speaker 2: said his second year Wide receivers quote working through some things.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Horton had surgery in February. Doctors put a metal rod
- 0:40Speaker 2: in his leg to heal the crack Shiney had last November.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Tara On Arnold still not signed. A report from me
- 0:46Speaker 2: in Rapaport NFL network saying that the Commissioner, Roger Goodell
- 0:49Speaker 2: is going to put terry On honored on the exempt
- 0:52Speaker 2: list as we thought he might, and they said he's
- 0:55Speaker 2: going to do it as soon as he signs with
- 0:56Speaker 2: the Seahawks, whenever that may be. They're still working through
- 0:58Speaker 2: the timing of that. Once he's on the exemplest he
- 1:00Speaker 2: can't practice or play. That would put terry On Arnold
- 1:03Speaker 2: in a layaway status waiting his juris students in Florida.
- 1:08Speaker 2: We'll see how that goes. No update from the coach
- 1:11Speaker 2: yesterday on Nicki Manwarrior's progress to maybe when he returns
- 1:14Speaker 2: to practice. He passed the team physical last week. They
- 1:16Speaker 2: are called in practice again. Hadn't since the middle of
- 1:18Speaker 2: last week when he limped out of a scrimmage. My
- 1:21Speaker 2: third episode of Hard Knock's premieers tonight six pm on HBO.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Thirty four year old wide receiver Keenan Allen is signing
- 1:26Speaker 2: with the Colts one year just over eight million for
- 1:28Speaker 2: his fourteenth NFL season. Roger Goodell, the commissionering the NFL,
- 1:32Speaker 2: told German TV network RTL quote, at some point there
- 1:35Speaker 2: will be NFL teams outside the USA. I have no
- 1:38Speaker 2: doubt that this will happen one day. Goodell also said
- 1:41Speaker 2: that he could see a Super Bowl played at International
- 1:43Speaker 2: City next year. The league will have ten international games,
- 1:47Speaker 2: up from eight this season. The Mariners are in Milwaukee
- 1:51Speaker 2: start at the series against the Brewers, who are twenty
- 1:53Speaker 2: nine games over five hundred leading the NL Central. Bryce
- 1:56Speaker 2: Miller starts for the MS tonight, trying to get on
- 1:58Speaker 2: self on track. The Brewers are throwing nine to three
- 2:00Speaker 2: Kyle Harrison and he's left handed. That's what that means.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Uh oh, trash can host the trash Cans hosting the Angels,
- 2:08Speaker 2: so maybe no help there. Seattle four games behind Houston
- 2:11Speaker 2: for first place in the AL West, two games out
- 2:13Speaker 2: of the wildcard race with thirty seven games left in
- 2:16Speaker 2: the season. Last night, Wriggleyfield Cubs Pete crow Armstrong MVP
- 2:20Speaker 2: Cannonate became the first Major League player in seventy years
- 2:25Speaker 2: to hit the first pitches team sawt in a game
- 2:27Speaker 2: for a home run and the last pitches team saw
- 2:30Speaker 2: in the game for a walk off home run.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Interesting stat that is seventy years.
- 2:35Speaker 2: The Cubs beat the White Sucks at Wrigley because of that.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Soundview Little League down in Tacoma is headed to the
- 2:41Speaker 2: Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Soundview won the
- 2:45Speaker 2: West Regional in San Bernardino, California, over the weekend, the
- 2:49Speaker 2: sixth straight year, a Washington team has played in the
- 2:51Speaker 2: Little League World Series, and at eleven o'clock we're going
- 2:53Speaker 2: to talk to the soundview Little League coach Kyle Yarbor
- 2:56Speaker 2: from the bag. That's really cool. Man calls it the
- 3:00Speaker 2: summer of those kids' lives. In the story, my colleague
- 3:03Speaker 2: Tyler Wick and The News Tribune wrote college football eight
- 3:06Speaker 2: pis preseason top twenty five. Ohio State and Oregon are
- 3:09Speaker 2: one two. First time since nineteen eighty seven two teams
- 3:12Speaker 2: from the same conference are one two to be preseason poll.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Of course, the Big Ten now has forty eight teams,
- 3:17Speaker 2: so they're bound to have a couple to talk. Georgia three,
- 3:20Speaker 2: Notre Dame four, Texas five, defending champion Indiana six. Washington
- 3:24Speaker 2: is seventeenth. Ewski's played five top twenty five teams, including Indiana,
- 3:28Speaker 2: number eighteen, Penn State, and number twenty two Iowa, all
- 3:31Speaker 2: with Husky Stadium now on with a Tuesday show. I'm
- 3:34Speaker 2: not just beside the practice field here at the Virginia
- 3:37Speaker 2: Mason Athletics Center at Seahawks headquarters for another preseason practice
- 3:41Speaker 2: to twentieth of it right across right along like Washington.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Jess when McIntyre is back in the La Base studios
- 3:47Speaker 2: of kJ ARGON, winning.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Ma'am, good morning. Send me your talkbacks. I want your voices.
- 3:53Speaker 2: We do that every day at eleven thirty.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Demands I do, demands, I Dot.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Radio, she does. iHeartRadio app. Download it for free if
- 4:03Speaker 2: you don't already have it nine through three Kyar dot com.
- 4:05Speaker 2: The website at the top, there's a red button. You
- 4:07Speaker 2: press that thirty seconds or less, leave a voicemail and
- 4:11Speaker 2: Jessaman will play it back. I'm telling you, the bar
- 4:13Speaker 2: is low. You don't have to have a lot of insights.
- 4:15Speaker 2: She'll play it back just because she wants to hear
- 4:17Speaker 2: your voice. Be fun. INSIGHT's good too. Have fun.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Be fun. That's all I want.
- 4:22Speaker 2: We do that with the Tacoma Dodge text line four
- 4:24Speaker 2: nine four five one at eleven thirty on the show today,
- 4:28Speaker 2: we got an eclectic show. We're gonna talk Huskies. We're
- 4:32Speaker 2: gonna talk Kenneth Walker. The post Kenneth Walker running back
- 4:36Speaker 2: situation for the Seahawks, it's it's starting to take shape
- 4:40Speaker 2: at the top and it's still changing below that. Two
- 4:42Speaker 2: running backs cut yesterday after the coaches were not happy
- 4:46Speaker 2: with a goal line series of runs in that preseason
- 4:47Speaker 2: opener against Dallas. We'll detail that Evin at ten twenty five.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You're gonna hear from Devin Witherspoon after signing his record
- 4:54Speaker 2: contract for a cornerback thirty three million dollars a year.
- 4:58Speaker 2: He signed it officially yesterday at ten forty five. You're
- 5:01Speaker 2: gonna hear from Bud Clark, the safety and rookie second
- 5:04Speaker 2: round pick. I was talking to him yesterday before practice
- 5:07Speaker 2: on how his first NFL game went for him on Saturday.
- 5:10Speaker 2: The Cowboys didn't test him much. He played the second
- 5:13Speaker 2: most snaps on the team. AJ Finley had few more
- 5:16Speaker 2: than he did. Finley and Clark, back at deep safeties,
- 5:20Speaker 2: played the most on the team, and the Cowboys didn't
- 5:22Speaker 2: really test them. There was a lot of outside pass
- 5:25Speaker 2: routes and runs, but there were nothing real deep down
- 5:28Speaker 2: the middle. So you may not have noticed Clark. So
- 5:30Speaker 2: we'll catch up with him on what he thought of
- 5:32Speaker 2: that performance in his very first pro game. As I
- 5:35Speaker 2: mentioned at eleven o'clock, we're gonna go to Tacoma SAMYU
- 5:39Speaker 2: Little League coach Kyle Yarborough. He's going to be in
- 5:41Speaker 2: batting practice with his kids down in the batting cages.
- 5:46Speaker 2: It's really cool this summer of their lives, is what
- 5:48Speaker 2: he said in the tyler Wick News Tribune story about
- 5:51Speaker 2: them winning the West Regional down in San Bernardino, California
- 5:55Speaker 2: to advance to the Little League World Series. So a
- 5:58Speaker 2: bunch of ten, eleven and twelve year olds to be
- 6:00Speaker 2: going across the country to Pennsylvania to play on national television.
- 6:04Speaker 2: It's the sixth consecutive year of Washington team has represented
- 6:08Speaker 2: the West and Northwest in the Little League World Series.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And we'll talk to Kyle Yarbro at eleven o'clock.
- 6:14Speaker 3: What's your favorite part about that?
- 6:17Speaker 4: Because I like that they get to write their own bylines.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yes there was intros, it is and they I like
- 6:27Speaker 2: the fact that they get to do things with the
- 6:29Speaker 2: other teams off the field. They have events like barbecues
- 6:33Speaker 2: and picnics and water slides and all kinds of cool
- 6:38Speaker 2: stuff in will you kids stuff?
- 6:40Speaker 4: You should be able to do kids stuff when you're
- 6:42Speaker 4: being professionalized.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Exactly ESPN and everything professionalize these kids putting on national
- 6:48Speaker 2: television into like the state regionals, and before they even
- 6:51Speaker 2: get to the World Series now the Little League World Series,
- 6:54Speaker 2: and then they want to get there. They do. They
- 6:55Speaker 2: do a lot of interactive stuff throughout the city of Williamsport.
- 6:59Speaker 2: The City of Williamsport opens up their homes, families bring
- 7:02Speaker 2: in kids and they host them for barbecues and cookout.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It's a cool deal and it's in the middle of
- 7:08Speaker 2: these hills in central eastern central Pennsylvania. It's a really
- 7:12Speaker 2: cool setting and sound to you a little league the
- 7:15Speaker 2: kids from them to come and get to be a
- 7:16Speaker 2: part of that. We're gonna talk to Kyle Yarborough at
- 7:18Speaker 2: eleven o'clock about that is I'm excited. That is cool.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I'm excited to here. That's sports back to its roots
- 7:25Speaker 2: at the highest level of Little League Baseball. Eleven thirty
- 7:28Speaker 2: year Talks and tech backs to Comaadge tech line four
- 7:31Speaker 2: nine four to five one. He infness will join us,
- 7:34Speaker 2: join me here actually in person here at Seahawks headquarters
- 7:36Speaker 2: for his show that'll be going on twelve until three.
- 7:40Speaker 2: The first question I have on the text line. The
- 7:42Speaker 2: Huskies I mentioned are seventeenth in the AP Top twenty
- 7:44Speaker 2: five College pole the Football Poll. They've got a quarterback
- 7:48Speaker 2: and Demon Williams, who's back after LSU's failed rating of
- 7:51Speaker 2: him off a Montlake in the off season. How excited
- 7:54Speaker 2: Husky fans are you? How hopeful are you? Jetfish year
- 7:58Speaker 2: three and a half wins? I think is what I've
- 8:01Speaker 2: seen Vegas posting is over under a number wins for you, dub.
- 8:05Speaker 2: You know the schedule in the Big ten. I mentioned
- 8:07Speaker 2: that five opponents for Washington in the preseason top twenty five,
- 8:12Speaker 2: they get Indiana at home, the number sixteen, they get
- 8:14Speaker 2: Penn State and Io where the eighteen and twenty two
- 8:16Speaker 2: teams are coming to Montlake, and then they go to
- 8:20Speaker 2: Eugene this year later in the season four nine, four
- 8:24Speaker 2: to five one is coming outs Tech sign you Husky
- 8:25Speaker 2: fans the home of the Huskies here on ninety three
- 8:27Speaker 2: point three KJR about how excited and what you expect
- 8:31Speaker 2: from the Huskies? Demon Williams Jetfish year three. Remember the
- 8:35Speaker 2: Apple Cup is the very first game this year, just
- 8:37Speaker 2: when Macati is gonna be on the WSU broadcast sidelines
- 8:40Speaker 2: and at least Woodward will be making her debut as
- 8:44Speaker 2: the Huskies played by play anouncers.
- 8:45Speaker 3: He's phenomenal JR.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That's Sunday, September sixth, at one o'clock at Husky Stadium.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And yes, she is indeed phenomenal out here at Seahawks.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yesterday Devin Witherspoon signed his contract in the morning, practice
- 9:00Speaker 2: in the afternoon. He's now got fifty six million dollars
- 9:03Speaker 2: guaranteed coming to him the next two years. The thing
- 9:07Speaker 2: that people are overlooking a little bit about this contract,
- 9:09Speaker 2: he's only twenty five years old. It's a four year
- 9:12Speaker 2: extension that doesn't take effect until after the two remaining
- 9:15Speaker 2: years on his deal. Already, he had the rookies. The
- 9:18Speaker 2: last year of his rookie deal this season, he had
- 9:21Speaker 2: the fifth year contract option the Seahawks exercised in May
- 9:25Speaker 2: for next season. They added guaranteed money onto those two
- 9:29Speaker 2: years and then gave him the four year deal that
- 9:31Speaker 2: actually doesn't start until twenty twenty eight. So he's got
- 9:34Speaker 2: under contract twenty eight, twenty nine, thirty fifth through thirty one.
- 9:38Speaker 2: He's going to be past his thirty he'll be pushing
- 9:40Speaker 2: his thirty first birthday when this contract ends.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I mean, lock him up.
- 9:44Speaker 4: As soon as he was thinking, yes exactly, I thought
- 9:47Speaker 4: they did that perfectly.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and that thirty three million a year, Jessman, as
- 9:52Speaker 2: you know, that's going to be a bargain by the
- 9:54Speaker 2: end of this contract, because the salary cap is going
- 9:58Speaker 2: to go up well above for it one right now
- 10:00Speaker 2: three in one million, that cap will go over four hundred
- 10:03Speaker 2: million in the next five years. The way NFL prints
- 10:05Speaker 2: money and by the way, the new media rights deals
- 10:08Speaker 2: are due in a couple of years, the NFL can
- 10:10Speaker 2: opt out of it and resign their own new deals
- 10:13Speaker 2: and make more money. The new CBA will be done
- 10:15Speaker 2: before Devin Witherspoon's contract. There there's a lot of financial
- 10:20Speaker 2: landscaping things that will change under the feet of Devin
- 10:24Speaker 2: Witherspoon's deal. So while right now it's the richest in
- 10:27Speaker 2: the NFL history for cornerback, it's going to be a bargain. Yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 2: I think by the end of the deal.
- 10:32Speaker 3: We see that with quarterbacks all the time.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Sure, you know the quarterbacks, I'm not talking about cornerbacks,
- 10:38Speaker 4: but we just see it at the the positions. We
- 10:41Speaker 4: heard Devin Witherspoon say that, you know, it's the hardest
- 10:45Speaker 4: outside of quarterback, it's the hardest position in the NFL.
- 10:48Speaker 2: And it is. Yeah, yeah, rules are against him. He is.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So in the locker room, they're already talking. Julian Love
- 10:56Speaker 2: in the locker rooms already saying it's no time for
- 10:58Speaker 2: Devin Witherspoon to start buying because he's got this.
- 11:02Speaker 3: They do clown each other that way, don't they.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Apparently he has a reputation inside the locker room. Witherspoond
- 11:08Speaker 2: does it being cheap? Oh, well, let's say frugal. They
- 11:13Speaker 2: tease him about wearing clothes from when he was in
- 11:15Speaker 2: high school in Pensacola, Florida.
- 11:16Speaker 3: That's awesome, Like, why would you clown him for that?
- 11:20Speaker 2: He's twenty five years old. But now that he's making
- 11:23Speaker 2: thirty three million dollars a year, they say, you got
- 11:26Speaker 2: to step it up a little bit.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Well, I mean, isn't that also a tradition though, when
- 11:31Speaker 4: you know you get a big contract. I just I
- 11:34Speaker 4: love those stories when you hear the guys like all
- 11:38Speaker 4: go out to dinner.
- 11:38Speaker 3: And they make the rookie pay.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yes, yes, it's bo Stevens is bracing for that at
- 11:44Speaker 2: the end of the preseason because he's the only rookie
- 11:47Speaker 2: on the offensive line.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Oh gosh, Oh, those guys eat a lot.
- 11:52Speaker 4: That's a lot of steaks, young man, That is a
- 11:55Speaker 4: lot of steaks.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, hopefully he goes like taco do mar or something.
- 12:00Speaker 2: But that's not gonna happen.
- 12:01Speaker 4: That would be an awesome like reclown, Like let me
- 12:05Speaker 4: reverse the clown.
- 12:06Speaker 3: All right, I'm taking you guys out for.
- 12:09Speaker 4: A very affordable, delicious meal to taco time.
- 12:13Speaker 2: The Super Bowl showed how lethal a blitzer Witherspoon Spoon is,
- 12:18Speaker 2: especially out of the nickel and slot on the inside.
- 12:21Speaker 2: He had a sack, he had three hits on Patriots
- 12:23Speaker 2: quarterback Drake May, and you remember he had a tackle
- 12:25Speaker 2: for the loss as well. You remember with four and
- 12:27Speaker 2: a half minutes left in Super Bowl sixty, Seahawks up
- 12:30Speaker 2: twenty two to seven, Patriots have the ball at midfield.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Mike McDonald sent Witherspoon on the inside blitz out of nickel.
- 12:36Speaker 2: The right tackle didn't even move to him and untouched,
- 12:40Speaker 2: Witherspoon slammed into May, forced to funnel that e chennant
- 12:43Speaker 2: Wilson had picked up and returned for a touchdown and
- 12:45Speaker 2: game over. It was already over, but it was double
- 12:48Speaker 2: game over twenty nine to seven at that point. The
- 12:50Speaker 2: Patriots didn't game plan for Witherspoon to blitz because that's
- 12:54Speaker 2: probably by Mike mcmonald's design that he only blitzed him
- 12:58Speaker 2: twelve times during the regular seat he hit him, Yeah,
- 13:01Speaker 2: he did, and he unleased him in the Super Bowl.
- 13:04Speaker 2: He had twenty sets in this first season McDonald twenty
- 13:07Speaker 2: twenty four. He blitzed them twenty seven times. Last regular season,
- 13:11Speaker 2: he only blitzed him twelve, less than half the times
- 13:13Speaker 2: he did in his first year as coach. And so
- 13:17Speaker 2: did the Super Bowl. The question we asked yesterday to
- 13:20Speaker 2: Mike McDonald, did the Super Bowl show the coach he
- 13:23Speaker 2: needs the blitz Witherspoon even more? And this is what
- 13:26Speaker 2: he said.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's uh, he's a he's a great corner.
- 13:29Speaker 6: He's a great nickel.
- 13:30Speaker 5: And when when Nick's available, Nick's also a great nickel.
- 13:34Speaker 5: And so you know, it's it's a great, great problem
- 13:37Speaker 5: to have as a as a coach that you know,
- 13:39Speaker 5: how do you deploy your people to have success? But
- 13:43Speaker 5: Spoon is very I mean, all all those instincts about
- 13:46Speaker 5: timing and you know, even beating guards, you know, setting
- 13:50Speaker 5: them up and beating backs and one on one pastoral
- 13:52Speaker 5: situations is uh, you know, it's not it's not common
- 13:56Speaker 5: for those for that skill set.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah. So McDonald also said, yeah, he's thinking more about
- 14:03Speaker 2: blitzing him this year, and he wants the NFL to
- 14:06Speaker 2: think more about Witherspoon blitzing this year, so they have
- 14:08Speaker 2: to devote game plan time to that, and that would
- 14:10Speaker 2: also free up even Worry to blitz when he's on
- 14:13Speaker 2: the field with Witherspoon. And yeah, he wants to know
- 14:17Speaker 2: we've talked about this. The league will copy the Seahawks.
- 14:19Speaker 2: They'll study the Super Bowl game plan film like they're
- 14:22Speaker 2: playing the Seahawks, even if they aren't.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Well, they always do that.
- 14:24Speaker 2: They wrote to everybody it's a copycat league, and they
- 14:27Speaker 2: will have a game plan for Witherspoon blitzing inside from
- 14:31Speaker 2: Nickel because they showed it in the Super Bowl. So
- 14:33Speaker 2: McDonald has to come up with counters to that counter.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I will tell you, without getting into specifics of what
- 14:39Speaker 2: I've seen in training camp practices, the fronts are changing
- 14:43Speaker 2: and the blitzers are changing, different people from different places.
- 14:46Speaker 2: McDonald has talked about, the players have talked about how
- 14:49Speaker 2: he's already got a counter to the counters. You're not
- 14:52Speaker 2: going to see it in the preseason games. You're not
- 14:54Speaker 2: going to see it Sunday when they play Tennessee on
- 14:56Speaker 2: Fox Sunday evening at five o'clock. You're not going to
- 14:59Speaker 2: see it Friday when they play the Kansas City Chiefs
- 15:02Speaker 2: in the preseason finale. You're gonna see it when the
- 15:04Speaker 2: games get real. But McDonald has a counter to the counter.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Some of it may be blitzing Witherspoon more. Some of
- 15:12Speaker 2: it may be the specter of Witherspoon flitzing more from
- 15:14Speaker 2: the Super Bowl to free up even more blitzing from
- 15:17Speaker 2: nick Emun Worri. But suffice to say that most if
- 15:21Speaker 2: what McDonald wants to do in the back seven starts
- 15:24Speaker 2: with Witherspoon and even Worry. Where he puts them, how
- 15:28Speaker 2: many times they're on the field together, whether they're in
- 15:30Speaker 2: five or six defensive backs. No team in the league
- 15:32Speaker 2: played sub packages five or six defensive backs more than
- 15:35Speaker 2: Seattle did last year seventy percent of the time. And
- 15:38Speaker 2: so when he had both those guys in the field,
- 15:40Speaker 2: who blitzes, who stays home? And recently last year for
- 15:44Speaker 2: most of the season, even Worry was blitzing and Witherspoon
- 15:47Speaker 2: stayed home and McDonald hinting very publicly so the teams
- 15:51Speaker 2: can study this, he may blitz Witherspoon more. Does that
- 15:55Speaker 2: mean Eman worri incoverages more? Probably? Does that mean even
- 15:59Speaker 2: worry blitzing with Witherspoon, Yeah, most likely. I could see
- 16:03Speaker 2: that happening too. I could see that happening as well.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So the point is the professor, the mad Professor, the
- 16:10Speaker 2: mad Scientists of Seattle's defense is he's on it. He's
- 16:14Speaker 2: got counters to the counters that McVeigh and Shanahan and
- 16:17Speaker 2: the rest of the league are working on. After studying
- 16:20Speaker 2: the Seahawks all off season, but I thought it was
- 16:24Speaker 2: interesting to hear McDonald talking about the blitzing of Witherspoon
- 16:27Speaker 2: and he knows that's a weapon. It's he's got in
- 16:29Speaker 2: his back pocket that he doesn't.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Have to use all the time, which is great.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I mean, honestly, the way that that I call them
- 16:36Speaker 4: all kids now because there's so much younger than me.
- 16:39Speaker 4: But the way that kid plays, I think that was
- 16:41Speaker 4: a concern when he first got drafted, because he is
- 16:44Speaker 4: not as big as he plays, right, And that was
- 16:47Speaker 4: always a thing like, is this guy just gonna wrangle himself?
- 16:51Speaker 4: But he's so quick and he's so smart on the field,
- 16:54Speaker 4: it's not even a worry anymore.
- 16:57Speaker 2: The very first play of his NFL regular season career
- 17:00Speaker 2: in Detroit three years ago. I was in the press
- 17:02Speaker 2: box had my binoculars on Devin Withersmon. He had missed
- 17:05Speaker 2: the first game with an injury from training camp, and
- 17:08Speaker 2: his first game was in week two at Detroit, and
- 17:10Speaker 2: the very first play he lined up at left outside cornerback.
- 17:14Speaker 2: And the press box in Detroit is almost like the
- 17:16Speaker 2: old Husky Stadium we were talking about yesterday, and that
- 17:18Speaker 2: you are looking. You have to lean forward in your
- 17:20Speaker 2: seat and look straight down at Ford field onto the field.
- 17:23Speaker 2: And I'm leaning forward in my seat in the binoculars
- 17:26Speaker 2: and Witherspoon is it's not a blitz. He reads run
- 17:30Speaker 2: and he takes off pell mel for it was an
- 17:33Speaker 2: inside dive play over the guard, and Witherspoon, at one
- 17:36Speaker 2: hundred and eighty five pounds from left cornerback, was in
- 17:38Speaker 2: on the tackle for a game at like two myself,
- 17:43Speaker 2: what is this left cornerback under five pounds doing stuff
- 17:46Speaker 2: and dive plays right? And that was the very first
- 17:49Speaker 2: play of his career and ever since that he's been
- 17:51Speaker 2: like that, And that is largely why McDonald loves him
- 17:55Speaker 2: in the nickel in the slot and in training camp
- 17:57Speaker 2: so far, it's been with us. When they go five
- 18:00Speaker 2: defensive backs, it's been Witherspoon inside and Neamia Pritchett outside
- 18:04Speaker 2: at left corner, with Josh job Stand on the right
- 18:06Speaker 2: outside cornerback. I think that's where it's gonna start. If
- 18:09Speaker 2: they're on honor, then he is on the exemp list.
- 18:11Speaker 2: As the news is coming out this morning that the
- 18:14Speaker 2: NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodoh are gonna put Terror on
- 18:17Speaker 2: the exemp list as soon as he signs with the Seahawks,
- 18:20Speaker 2: we're still waiting on one that's gonna happen, Mike McDonald
- 18:23Speaker 2: saying yesterday nothing new on that front. Arnold not here
- 18:26Speaker 2: as of early this morning that I know of here
- 18:29Speaker 2: at Seahawks headquarters. I thought maybe he would. First practices
- 18:32Speaker 2: might be this week here in Retin before they go
- 18:34Speaker 2: to Tennessee, so they could probably kind of use them
- 18:36Speaker 2: before the in the joint practice on Friday when the
- 18:41Speaker 2: Ones play. But if Ian Rappaport's report is to believe
- 18:45Speaker 2: be believed, he's going to go immediately on the exemplest
- 18:47Speaker 2: when he does sign, so he would not be able
- 18:49Speaker 2: to practice Tarron on him up next we're gonna hear
- 18:52Speaker 2: from Devin Witherspoon. We're gonna hear him about his admitting
- 18:56Speaker 2: that he's cheap and his teammates getting on him about
- 18:59Speaker 2: it and about what he says. It's really special to him.
- 19:02Speaker 2: It's real, it's not fake. He said that he's the
- 19:04Speaker 2: highest paid quarterback in the NFL and he appreciates that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: You'll hear from Devon Witherspoon next on ninety three point
- 19:09Speaker 2: three KJRFM. Welcome back to Seahawks headquarters, the Virginia Mason
- 19:47Speaker 2: Athletics Center, right along Lake watching it out in the
- 19:49Speaker 2: sunshine here for the twentieth practice of Seahawks preseason this afternoon.
- 19:53Speaker 2: One more here this week before they go to Nashville,
- 19:56Speaker 2: Tennessee Thursday for joint practice, Fridayaturday of pregame walk through,
- 20:01Speaker 2: and then Sunday they have a second preseason game at
- 20:04Speaker 2: the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. I'll be there Thursday, Friday
- 20:07Speaker 2: and Monday and ninety three point three KJRFM live at
- 20:10Speaker 2: ten am at noon from what the Seahawks are doing
- 20:13Speaker 2: with the Titans and putting on the field at the
- 20:15Speaker 2: joint practice. It'll be ending right about the time our
- 20:17Speaker 2: show starts on Friday morning back Tennessee time in the
- 20:20Speaker 2: Central time zone. Devin Witherspoon will be there. He'll be
- 20:24Speaker 2: with the ones. He'll probably be a rabble rouser, making
- 20:26Speaker 2: a lot of the commotion in the contentiousness a little bit.
- 20:31Speaker 2: The swag is part of what the Seahawks and coach
- 20:34Speaker 2: Mike McDonald the most about Witherspoon, which is why they
- 20:37Speaker 2: just gave him a thirty three million dollar a year contract,
- 20:40Speaker 2: four year extension that will keep him under contract with
- 20:42Speaker 2: Seattle through twenty thirty one. He's still only twenty five
- 20:45Speaker 2: years old. He's their number one draft pick, first round
- 20:48Speaker 2: fifth overall a few years ago, and they just made
- 20:51Speaker 2: him the highest paid cornerback in NFL history. This was
- 20:54Speaker 2: a Devin Witherspoon's reaction to that yesterday after he signed
- 20:58Speaker 2: the deal to get the.
- 21:00Speaker 7: Contracting feel good, man. You know, a long time coming,
- 21:03Speaker 7: but it feel good to get it done.
- 21:04Speaker 8: Julian said, Uh, it's your turnout to cover some things
- 21:08Speaker 8: in the DV rooms.
- 21:09Speaker 7: Yeah, that what he's said. You know, I take the
- 21:10Speaker 7: talle zone. Man, I'm gonna be ready. I gonna be ready.
- 21:12Speaker 7: I got to gets ready.
- 21:12Speaker 8: He says that you're pretty frugal that, uh, you still
- 21:15Speaker 8: got stuff you're wearing from from high school.
- 21:17Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 7: I don't cheat with and I don't don't don't don't
- 21:19Speaker 7: ever get that confused, you know what I'm saying.
- 21:20Speaker 6: I'll always be cheat with it, but I letna take
- 21:22Speaker 6: care of guys for sure.
- 21:24Speaker 10: Devin.
- 21:24Speaker 11: How involved were you in the process. Was it like,
- 21:26Speaker 11: don't tell me until it's done, or were you kind
- 21:28Speaker 11: of keeping updates? Is going off for your kind of
- 21:30Speaker 11: you know what the landscape was kind of.
- 21:31Speaker 10: Working through now.
- 21:32Speaker 7: I was updated throughout the whole thing, you know, but
- 21:34Speaker 7: but my mom was here and focus on being with
- 21:36Speaker 7: my team and going to have practice and getting better
- 21:38Speaker 7: every day.
- 21:39Speaker 6: But my mind wasn't on that. But I knew what
- 21:40Speaker 6: it was to.
- 21:41Speaker 9: Be able to have these next few years, knowing it's
- 21:43Speaker 9: gonna be with this team. This franchise really carved out something.
- 21:45Speaker 6: How special is that you know.
- 21:46Speaker 7: That future is into now and specially man, it's kind
- 21:49Speaker 7: of something you alreadys dreamed of, but it's kind of
- 21:51Speaker 7: something that I knew as well. It's like we talked
- 21:53Speaker 7: about it before and everything like that. It's like, I
- 21:56Speaker 7: know I'm gonna be here. I know this is where
- 21:57Speaker 7: my heart is, So that was never coming into a question.
- 21:59Speaker 7: So it was it just feels special to get it done.
- 22:01Speaker 2: You said it was a long time comment of the
- 22:04Speaker 2: long process.
- 22:04Speaker 7: Man, You know a lot of back and for us,
- 22:06Speaker 7: but it was easy to get it done.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Think this is exactly where you picture yourself being after
- 22:11Speaker 2: you got drafted, Like how the first three years of play?
- 22:14Speaker 2: How's this extensions play out? Uh?
- 22:16Speaker 7: Kind of, but I didn't have idea how it's gonna go.
- 22:19Speaker 7: One thing on my mind when I got drafted it
- 22:21Speaker 7: was to be the best meet every day and try
- 22:23Speaker 7: to win the city at Super Bowl.
- 22:24Speaker 11: So Devin, you and you and Jackson obviously coming in together,
- 22:27Speaker 11: you've been kind of tied it to the hip ever since.
- 22:29Speaker 11: Then both of you guys get the deals done the
- 22:31Speaker 11: soft season kind of know your foundational pieces of a
- 22:34Speaker 11: team to build around.
- 22:34Speaker 10: What does that kind of mean to you guys to
- 22:36Speaker 10: kind of have that under year for three years?
- 22:40Speaker 6: It means everything to us.
- 22:41Speaker 7: H Like I said, we talked about it when we
- 22:42Speaker 7: first got here and what we wanted to do, and
- 22:45Speaker 7: then as the years passed, we just continued to grow
- 22:46Speaker 7: and build. You know, it's changed at the point of
- 22:49Speaker 7: time in the year because it's like stuff happens and
- 22:51Speaker 7: we got to adjust and adapt.
- 22:52Speaker 6: But we just always talked.
- 22:54Speaker 7: About building on it and how can we be better
- 22:56Speaker 7: every day and how can we take this program to
- 22:59Speaker 7: an elite program.
- 22:59Speaker 8: So you remember that boat ride after you guys were
- 23:02Speaker 8: drafted and yeah, and uh, what'd you guys talk about
- 23:04Speaker 8: on that right.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Really didn't really say too much though we were just
- 23:07Speaker 7: we was happy to be here, you know what I'm saying.
- 23:08Speaker 6: It was like this crazy, but y'all remember that though I.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Paid cornerback in the n NFL history.
- 23:13Speaker 6: What do those credentials mean to you?
- 23:15Speaker 2: Uh?
- 23:15Speaker 6: It mean a lot, man.
- 23:16Speaker 7: It just it's a it's a thing that you don't
- 23:18Speaker 7: kind of think about for real, but when it happens,
- 23:20Speaker 7: like that's really real, Like it ain't it ain't fake.
- 23:23Speaker 6: But you know, for me, it means a lot to me.
- 23:25Speaker 7: But at the same time, it's nothing to me at
- 23:27Speaker 7: the same time, cause it's like I got a team here,
- 23:30Speaker 7: you feel me, and I'm trying to win though, so
- 23:33Speaker 7: all that is love. I appreciate all that, but I'm
- 23:35Speaker 7: focused on building with my team right now.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Before you step up the podium, exile.
- 23:38Speaker 12: You're joking with Mike for a moment, just wondering playing
- 23:41Speaker 12: for him for a couple more years.
- 23:43Speaker 2: What what help excited heard you for that?
- 23:44Speaker 9: And how is he kind of helped you develop in
- 23:47Speaker 9: in Maximus what you can do.
- 23:48Speaker 7: I'm ready, man, you know I told him when you
- 23:50Speaker 7: first got here. I'm thankful. I know what you're gonna
- 23:52Speaker 7: bring to the team. I know what you do, and
- 23:54Speaker 7: I'm gonna be the guy here for you. So it
- 23:56Speaker 7: means everything to me, man, you know, just to continue
- 23:58Speaker 7: to build with him, continue to learn from him the
- 24:00Speaker 7: way he gained plans, just to being involved with that,
- 24:02Speaker 7: it just means everything to me.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Man.
- 24:03Speaker 6: You know, I know I got his back, I know
- 24:05Speaker 6: he got my bat, So it means everything to me.
- 24:07Speaker 8: But you have badge on your jersey, the sledgehammer or
- 24:10Speaker 8: whatever on the other side of that line.
- 24:13Speaker 6: I have no idea, to be honest, And I see
- 24:15Speaker 6: I ain't even know what that was.
- 24:17Speaker 9: They first sort of the draft pumps the Steven how realistic?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Was almost a decade with the same team, the team
- 24:22Speaker 2: the draft you you can stay eight plus years.
- 24:24Speaker 7: Or was that even in That's not something I was
- 24:27Speaker 7: really kind of thinking about at that moment, Like I said,
- 24:29Speaker 7: I was just coming in and try to be the
- 24:30Speaker 7: best me every day, So it wasn't something that.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Was on my mind.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Does a deal like this add pressure or take pressure
- 24:36Speaker 3: off the deal?
- 24:37Speaker 7: I don't think it does neither, though. I think it's
- 24:39Speaker 7: a little bit of both. But I don't think it
- 24:41Speaker 7: does nothing to me. You know, I'm gonna beat me
- 24:42Speaker 7: every day. I ain't nothing gonna change about me, So
- 24:44Speaker 7: I don't really see it no type of way.
- 24:46Speaker 13: How do you feel about that you and Josh now
- 24:48Speaker 13: both having job having contracts.
- 24:50Speaker 12: Together for the next three years, you guys get to
- 24:52Speaker 12: continue playing together to continuity.
- 24:54Speaker 7: On that back end, it's still good, you know, like
- 24:56Speaker 7: that's my that's my doll, right though for so like
- 24:58Speaker 7: that's my boy, So you know, being together it's not
- 25:02Speaker 7: just in the building, but outside building everything like that.
- 25:03Speaker 6: Like we got a real good relationship and it's still
- 25:05Speaker 6: growing to this day.
- 25:06Speaker 7: But knowing that we're gonna be here and knowing how
- 25:10Speaker 7: we practicing what we chasing like off the field and
- 25:12Speaker 7: stuff like that, it means everything to us.
- 25:13Speaker 6: So we chasing greatness for sure.
- 25:15Speaker 14: When the negotiations were going on, how did you stay
- 25:17Speaker 14: grounded your pensions, staying focused on here being out here
- 25:20Speaker 14: like who helped you?
- 25:21Speaker 10: How did you stay focused?
- 25:22Speaker 7: It was easy to my teammates man, Like I said,
- 25:24Speaker 7: when you come in and you coming to work with
- 25:25Speaker 7: guys like this like d hall e J And Lee
- 25:28Speaker 7: on them like Mirth, I mean you kind of guys.
- 25:30Speaker 6: When you come to work with guys like that means everything.
- 25:32Speaker 7: It's easy to take the pressure off you because now
- 25:34Speaker 7: I know what they're about, and they know what I'm about.
- 25:35Speaker 7: So it's just easy to come out here and just
- 25:37Speaker 7: focus on football.
- 25:38Speaker 8: He was the first person you called or texted when
- 25:40Speaker 8: the deal got done.
- 25:41Speaker 6: My mom, she said she was just happy.
- 25:46Speaker 10: As a blitzer.
- 25:46Speaker 6: What what do you think makes you as affective as
- 25:48Speaker 6: you are in the going team?
- 25:50Speaker 7: My ability to win, So, I mean I know how
- 25:52Speaker 7: to win on pastresses and stuff like that, but it's
- 25:54Speaker 7: a study that I have to continue to work on.
- 25:56Speaker 11: Mike has said that how effective you were the Super Bowl,
- 25:59Speaker 11: we seen it an other times, been the Super Bowl especially.
- 26:01Speaker 14: He said that that makes him think about maybe using
- 26:04Speaker 14: you more.
- 26:04Speaker 2: In that role.
- 26:05Speaker 6: When you think about that, you know what, I mean,
- 26:07Speaker 6: whatever you want me to do, I'm gonna be able
- 26:08Speaker 6: to do it. So just let me know Coke.
- 26:11Speaker 10: Obviously, since it's playing to bring Terran and Terry and Arnold.
- 26:13Speaker 11: And do you know him at all? To have you
- 26:16Speaker 11: asked about him? What do you expect from him when
- 26:18Speaker 11: he when he comes in here and be part of.
- 26:19Speaker 6: This dot com?
- 26:21Speaker 2: I do?
- 26:21Speaker 6: I do know him, you know.
- 26:22Speaker 7: I did send him at tests and stuff like that,
- 26:24Speaker 7: but I haven't got a tence to ask to have
- 26:25Speaker 7: a full conversation with him and stuff like that. But yeah, man,
- 26:27Speaker 7: I know, I know he could play ball though, and
- 26:29Speaker 7: I know he's gonna be easy to, you know, come
- 26:31Speaker 7: in with this culture and how we do and the
- 26:33Speaker 7: way we go about our business over here. I think
- 26:35Speaker 7: it's gonna be easy for him to fall in line,
- 26:37Speaker 7: you know, and just adapt to this situation. And I
- 26:38Speaker 7: think it's gonna be the best for him. So I
- 26:40Speaker 7: can't wait he get him, you know, ready to work
- 26:42Speaker 7: with scrub.
- 26:46Speaker 2: That was Devin Witherspoon, the Seahawks three time Pro Bowl
- 26:49Speaker 2: cornerback in all three years he's been in the NFL,
- 26:51Speaker 2: all talking yesterday after he signed his thirty three million
- 26:53Speaker 2: dollar a year deal to be the richest cornerback in
- 26:56Speaker 2: NFL history. We'll have him under contract with Seattle through
- 26:59Speaker 2: the twenty thirty one season. You heard him talking there
- 27:02Speaker 2: at the end about Terry On Arnold. He said he
- 27:05Speaker 2: has texted him and been in contact with someone that
- 27:08Speaker 2: they envisioned could potentially be starting opposite of Witherspoon. Arnold
- 27:12Speaker 2: twenty three years old, raft first round draft pick, as
- 27:14Speaker 2: is Witherspoon a couple of years ago of the Detroit Lions.
- 27:18Speaker 2: The Lions cut him immediately after he was charged with
- 27:20Speaker 2: eight felonies related to kidnapping, alleged kidnapping and alleged burglary
- 27:26Speaker 2: in Florida. His next court hearing in that case, which
- 27:30Speaker 2: could lead to life in prison if he had he'd
- 27:32Speaker 2: been convicted on those charges, and next court case for
- 27:35Speaker 2: him is October the fifth. The news of the morning
- 27:38Speaker 2: is that Mike Garafalo in Ian Rappaport of NFL Network
- 27:43Speaker 2: reporting that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is going to put
- 27:47Speaker 2: Terry on Arnold on the exemplts as soon as he
- 27:49Speaker 2: signs with the Seahawks, which he's yet to do. Last week,
- 27:53Speaker 2: Joey Lane, the Seahawks' vice president of administration, you heard
- 27:57Speaker 2: him on the HOD Knocks episodes referred to by general
- 28:00Speaker 2: manager John Schneider telling Mike McDonald that Joey, I mean
- 28:03Speaker 2: Joey Lane thinks that Terry on Arnoll would be able
- 28:06Speaker 2: to play in the preseason for the Seahawks. That does
- 28:09Speaker 2: not sound like it's gonna be the case. Now, if
- 28:11Speaker 2: he goes on the exemp list, he can't practice or
- 28:13Speaker 2: play until he's off of it. And the exemplest is
- 28:17Speaker 2: what Roger Gudo has put players on while they wait
- 28:19Speaker 2: the legal process on situations like this. But the Seahawks
- 28:24Speaker 2: had reason to believe that when they signed him that
- 28:26Speaker 2: he was still gonna be able to play until perhaps
- 28:29Speaker 2: the regular season, at least play in the preseason. But
- 28:31Speaker 2: that doesn't sound like it's going to be the case.
- 28:34Speaker 2: So jess when this is an absolute lay away deal
- 28:36Speaker 2: for the.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Seahawks, Yeah, is, And I always I don't know the
- 28:41Speaker 4: inner workings of the NFL as well as you do,
- 28:44Speaker 4: but I didn't necessarily love this from the start. But
- 28:49Speaker 4: looking at his accolades as a player, if I could
- 28:52Speaker 4: separate those two things, what an asset he's.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Telling twenty three first round pick. But it does make
- 29:00Speaker 2: you wonder if the Lions cut him as quickly as
- 29:02Speaker 2: they did. Did they cut him because they didn't think
- 29:05Speaker 2: he was as good enough to be worth the trouble
- 29:08Speaker 2: to stay with him and keep him under contract during
- 29:10Speaker 2: his suspension.
- 29:11Speaker 3: As you always say all the time, football always wins.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Football always wins.
- 29:17Speaker 4: But perhaps in that situation with the Lions, if they're
- 29:21Speaker 4: looking to move forward, it does make sense they had
- 29:25Speaker 4: reason to cut him with cause.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Sure they did, but if his football was that good
- 29:30Speaker 2: and football always wins, they may have kept them. And
- 29:32Speaker 2: the people I talked to around the Lions friends of
- 29:35Speaker 2: mines friend of mine have covered the Lions for a while,
- 29:38Speaker 2: indicating that Arnold had some troubles in some of his
- 29:41Speaker 2: first two years in coverage, the Lions have troubles in
- 29:45Speaker 2: their secondary and they need secondary help. It is somewhat
- 29:50Speaker 2: noticeable that the Lions released him so quickly. I mean
- 29:54Speaker 2: the day that the charges came out, the next day
- 29:56Speaker 2: he was cut. And I mean that's a a firm
- 30:00Speaker 2: line that Dan Campbell and his regime are drawing in Detroit.
- 30:05Speaker 2: But if he was as good as we are all
- 30:08Speaker 2: anticipating he may be, or the Seahawks think he is,
- 30:10Speaker 2: for them to go through and sign him in amid
- 30:12Speaker 2: all his legal troubles, why would the Lions have cut
- 30:14Speaker 2: him in the first place. That's greatly right. And now
- 30:18Speaker 2: if it is just that they have a line that says,
- 30:21Speaker 2: you crossed it eight felonies, you're under investigation, You're gone.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I laud them for that because there aren't a lot
- 30:27Speaker 2: of NFL teams to do that, because football always does
- 30:30Speaker 2: win and.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Dan Campbell doesn't have a record of keeping guys with
- 30:34Speaker 4: questionable situations, right, yeah, And so.
- 30:38Speaker 2: If that's the reason, then hats off to the Lions.
- 30:40Speaker 2: If that's what they did. The Seahawks obficuely don't have
- 30:42Speaker 2: those same reservations. But perhaps the Lions have also reservations
- 30:46Speaker 2: about Arnold as a football player. Okay, he's okay, we
- 30:50Speaker 2: draft him in the first round. We're going to play him,
- 30:52Speaker 2: hopefully gets better the next twos. Oh wait a minute,
- 30:54Speaker 2: you want us to play or keep him under contract
- 30:56Speaker 2: while he's facing eight fellonies. Well, okay, that's not worth it.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I just wonder from being playing Devil's advocate here, but
- 31:03Speaker 2: it is now at least makes you think why the
- 31:07Speaker 2: Lions cut him so quickly, and why did the Seahawks
- 31:09Speaker 2: sign him at why did they have to sign him
- 31:11Speaker 2: at this point if they he's gonna be on the
- 31:13Speaker 2: exemp list anyway. Well, the answer to that question was
- 31:16Speaker 2: they wanted to be at the front of the line.
- 31:17Speaker 2: We talked about that and a lot of teams in
- 31:20Speaker 2: the NFL because they spend so much time on the draft.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I mean, they spend two three years on a draft.
- 31:27Speaker 2: It's not like they just at the end of a season,
- 31:29Speaker 2: go look up some game tape and go to some
- 31:31Speaker 2: pro days and all of a sudden they have their
- 31:32Speaker 2: draft lists for the coming to spring. They've worked on
- 31:35Speaker 2: that draft with like the twenty twenty seven draft, they
- 31:38Speaker 2: started working on two or three years ago when those
- 31:40Speaker 2: guys were second third year college guys. So scouts and
- 31:45Speaker 2: executives start falling in love with guys and especially first
- 31:49Speaker 2: round talent. And Mike Donald's already said the Seahawks profess
- 31:53Speaker 2: how much they loved Tarron Arnold coming out of Alabama.
- 31:56Speaker 2: The pattern match coverages that he played at Alabama fit
- 32:00Speaker 2: what McDonald likes to do here with the Seahawks. The
- 32:02Speaker 2: Lions didn't have him playing as much coverage like that,
- 32:06Speaker 2: and that the Seahawks believe that Arnold could thrive in
- 32:08Speaker 2: their coverage schemes that perhaps the Seahawks were so in
- 32:12Speaker 2: love with Arnold coming out of Alabama and didn't get
- 32:15Speaker 2: a chance to draft him that they're now going back
- 32:18Speaker 2: to that love. And regardless of how he's played in
- 32:21Speaker 2: the two years with the Detroit they were going more
- 32:24Speaker 2: on scheme fit and then projecting what they saw at Alabama.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So it's obvious that the Seahawks view him different than
- 32:32Speaker 2: the Lions do to be able to sign him and
- 32:34Speaker 2: willing to sign him while he goes on the exemp list.
- 32:38Speaker 4: I was just gonna say, it's not, you know, a
- 32:40Speaker 4: critical deals that they signed him to either correct, so
- 32:43Speaker 4: they're not hamstringing themselves on that end.
- 32:47Speaker 2: And to be technically technical, they haven't signed him yet,
- 32:50Speaker 2: oh because he hasn't been here. So if anything were
- 32:54Speaker 2: to change or if they got any other afraid that
- 32:56Speaker 2: they wouldn't have to go through with it. They have
- 32:57Speaker 2: an agreement that he's yet to sign. They're working through
- 33:01Speaker 2: and getting him here. And now the word the news
- 33:04Speaker 2: this morning, if you missed at the top of the show,
- 33:06Speaker 2: is that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was going to put
- 33:09Speaker 2: Arnold on the exemp list as soon as he signs,
- 33:11Speaker 2: which means he won't be able to practice, he won't
- 33:13Speaker 2: be able to play in the preseason game, won't play
- 33:15Speaker 2: it in the joint practice this Friday at Tennessee. None
- 33:18Speaker 2: of that, And all of a sudden, Jessamine, they got
- 33:21Speaker 2: this game, the joint practice Friday in Nashville, the second
- 33:25Speaker 2: preseason game Sunday night, and then they fly home Monday morning,
- 33:29Speaker 2: get home Monday morning, and then they get out a
- 33:31Speaker 2: plane Thursday and play their final preseason game Friday night
- 33:34Speaker 2: in Kansas City, and then they're done. Then August thirtieth,
- 33:38Speaker 2: the cuts from ninety to fifty three, and here we
- 33:40Speaker 2: go on with the season. September ninth, it begins. So
- 33:43Speaker 2: all of a sudden, the time that they could have
- 33:46Speaker 2: had honored to see how he would fit on the
- 33:49Speaker 2: field is gone. And if they're gonna put him, if
- 33:51Speaker 2: the Commission can put him on the exemp list, from
- 33:53Speaker 2: the time he signs, it's one hundred percent a lay
- 33:56Speaker 2: away deal with the Seahawks signing him to a one
- 33:58Speaker 2: year contract. To your point, jess one, your low risk contract,
- 34:02Speaker 2: they could he may never play for them if he
- 34:05Speaker 2: stays on the exemp list. The entire time that his
- 34:08Speaker 2: jurisprudence is going on. If his next if his next
- 34:11Speaker 2: hearing isn't until the first week of October, it's conceivable
- 34:15Speaker 2: that that case will last the entire season.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Yeah, we've seen it time and time again in the
- 34:20Speaker 4: NFL too, with you know these things, and like you've
- 34:23Speaker 4: always said, football always wins. But in these cases, this
- 34:27Speaker 4: is probably one of the more serious potential jailing prison
- 34:34Speaker 4: time that we've seen in quite a while. And it
- 34:40Speaker 4: I don't know, like the guys can be untouchable, but
- 34:44Speaker 4: with this, I.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Don't know, I just do.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Here's here's the other thing, and I mentioned this when
- 34:51Speaker 2: I areement came last week. The fact that he is
- 34:55Speaker 2: on his rookie contract, or was on his rookie contract
- 34:57Speaker 2: before he got cut by the Lions. He's still only
- 34:59Speaker 2: in his that will be three seasons. The Seahawks retain
- 35:03Speaker 2: the right to resign him as a restricted free agent
- 35:06Speaker 2: next year, so if the exemp list, essentially it's a suspension.
- 35:12Speaker 2: If he comes off that list after the season and
- 35:15Speaker 2: becomes eligible to play somehow next year, the Seahawks could
- 35:18Speaker 2: still have him at restricted free agency costs for next year,
- 35:22Speaker 2: which would have been the final year of his rookie deal.
- 35:24Speaker 2: So the Seahawks are really putting down a deposit on
- 35:28Speaker 2: a layaway deal either for this year or next year.
- 35:31Speaker 2: So why did they sign him? Now? That's why on
- 35:34Speaker 2: the possibility that first in line and they fell in
- 35:38Speaker 2: love with him as a draft pick and hoping they
- 35:41Speaker 2: could draft him, and they're first in line, and if
- 35:43Speaker 2: he doesn't play this year, they still retain an option
- 35:45Speaker 2: to perhaps keep him next year as a restricted free agent.
- 35:48Speaker 2: How that works is a restricted free agent with service
- 35:51Speaker 2: time to become a restrict free agent less than four years.
- 35:54Speaker 2: The team tenders him a restricted free agency offer. They
- 35:57Speaker 2: can do it at different levels, but it's roughly a
- 35:59Speaker 2: couple million dollars and you have him exclusive rights to
- 36:02Speaker 2: him for that year and it's a one year contract.
- 36:07Speaker 2: You could tear it up and do multi year deal
- 36:09Speaker 2: like they did with Jake Bobo, who they match to
- 36:11Speaker 2: the Jaguars deal with Jake Bobo. But the point is
- 36:16Speaker 2: there is more than meets the eye on a one
- 36:18Speaker 2: year deal for taron'nald But at the news of the
- 36:20Speaker 2: day is that apparently he will not be able to
- 36:22Speaker 2: practice or play in the preseason. That the Commissioner. NFO
- 36:26Speaker 2: Roger Goodo, Commissioner is intending to put him on the
- 36:28Speaker 2: exemp list once he does sign with the Seahawks, which
- 36:30Speaker 2: has not happened yet. I see it to coming out
- 36:33Speaker 2: to text line four nine four five one. Dude, you
- 36:35Speaker 2: know what that patch is? The patch they were asking
- 36:37Speaker 2: Witherspoon about is for offseason participation in their conditioning program.
- 36:43Speaker 2: In the three little lines that are under it represent
- 36:46Speaker 2: his third year that he got that award. It's an
- 36:48Speaker 2: iron Man patch. He's flexing with bisepulging biceps gray on
- 36:53Speaker 2: the practice uniforms. It's for guys who do the voluntary
- 36:57Speaker 2: those who have great attendance that the voluntary offseason workout
- 37:00Speaker 2: program for the Seahawks. If you don't know, now you know.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm glad you don't finished the sentence.
- 37:13Speaker 2: There's some discretion up next. Bud Clark, the rookie safety
- 37:16Speaker 2: second round pick, talked to me yesterday right before practice
- 37:19Speaker 2: about what his first NFL game experience was. Like, you'll
- 37:22Speaker 2: hear from him next on ninety three point three kJ
- 37:24Speaker 2: R f M.
- 37:43Speaker 10: So, first game, how was that pretty interesting?
- 37:46Speaker 2: Actually?
- 37:46Speaker 9: You know, I got to see not all the fans
- 37:48Speaker 9: are there but it was still loud.
- 37:50Speaker 10: What it what was interesting for you?
- 37:51Speaker 2: What? Anything you expected you didn't get, anything you didn't
- 37:54Speaker 2: expect got.
- 37:55Speaker 9: You know, it's a preseason game, so we didn't get
- 37:56Speaker 9: too much action on the backside. But I feel like,
- 37:58Speaker 9: you know, just being there for my teammates run around.
- 38:00Speaker 2: To the ball, I feel like it helped a little
- 38:01Speaker 2: bit of short You were in deep safety the whole
- 38:03Speaker 2: time on Saturday night, for sure, and I have seen
- 38:05Speaker 2: you with Nickel sometimes with the ones.
- 38:07Speaker 10: How has that gone for you? Inside outs are going
- 38:10Speaker 10: back and forth.
- 38:10Speaker 9: I feel like it's helping me understand the defense a
- 38:12Speaker 9: little bit more.
- 38:12Speaker 4: So.
- 38:13Speaker 15: I feel like I know what's going on on both sides,
- 38:14Speaker 15: so I understand what's going down.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Mike McDonald was telling us that he's given you as
- 38:19Speaker 2: much as you can hand them. Yeah, what have you
- 38:22Speaker 2: shown him? You think? What have you learned? And how
- 38:24Speaker 2: what have you shown him? In learning everything that I have.
- 38:26Speaker 15: The ability to adapt to anything that's going on, you know,
- 38:29Speaker 15: just to learn plays. You know, I have the knowledge
- 38:31Speaker 15: to understand what's going on.
- 38:33Speaker 10: What difference between the inside and outside the corner?
- 38:36Speaker 15: You know, not too much difference, you know, But I
- 38:37Speaker 15: feel like on the inside. You more in the box,
- 38:39Speaker 15: so you know, you got to be ready to get
- 38:40Speaker 15: your pass with.
- 38:41Speaker 2: So that's what I try to do.
- 38:42Speaker 10: How fast is the game and decision making?
- 38:45Speaker 15: It's pretty fast, nough more knowing that I have more
- 38:47Speaker 15: than one position. But I feel like, you know, once
- 38:48Speaker 15: you slow it down, it's way easier than what it is.
- 38:50Speaker 15: That's why, you know, I've been trying to understand both
- 38:53Speaker 15: both positions to slow everything down.
- 38:55Speaker 10: How much did you do that at TCU?
- 38:56Speaker 2: I did it.
- 38:57Speaker 10: I did it a lot at TCU.
- 38:58Speaker 2: So I played nickel in and feel safely.
- 39:00Speaker 10: Okay, it's a lot.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah. The other night, what did you notice about how
- 39:04Speaker 2: Dallas attacked a deep part of the field and handing
- 39:07Speaker 2: off communication to the safety you're back there with all
- 39:09Speaker 2: those intricacies that go within a play.
- 39:12Speaker 15: I feel like, you know, they took, they took. They
- 39:14Speaker 15: capitalized on every chance they had. You know, I feel
- 39:16Speaker 15: like they had a couple opportunities where they were opened deep,
- 39:18Speaker 15: but they didn't shoot those like you know, open show
- 39:20Speaker 15: those guns.
- 39:20Speaker 10: You know, So I feel like it was a brittish move.
- 39:22Speaker 10: You know how them boys handle their shuit when you're
- 39:24Speaker 10: in the deep safety, How much.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Are you wanting to come up and make tackles on
- 39:29Speaker 2: runs but having to stay back in irresponsibility?
- 39:32Speaker 10: What's that talking?
- 39:33Speaker 15: I want to come up a lot, but you know,
- 39:35Speaker 15: having such a great D line and great linebacker unit
- 39:38Speaker 15: that we have sometimes most of the time you don't
- 39:40Speaker 15: get to come down there, you know.
- 39:41Speaker 10: So you just play your role.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I heard you say that my call ye infness when
- 39:45Speaker 2: you're on kJ Rbos Street, that you're weird? How are
- 39:48Speaker 2: you weird?
- 39:49Speaker 15: Just a lot of different things that I like to do,
- 39:51Speaker 15: you know, just outside of the football, inside of football.
- 39:53Speaker 9: You know, it's just just different different routines.
- 39:56Speaker 10: I take, you got your wife and kid out here,
- 39:58Speaker 10: I do, they're here.
- 39:59Speaker 2: They are.
- 40:00Speaker 10: How great is that?
- 40:01Speaker 15: It's been amazing actually, you know, I feel like it
- 40:03Speaker 15: helped me settle down on my head spaced also because
- 40:05Speaker 15: you know, just having anything outside the field is being
- 40:07Speaker 15: pretty smooth.
- 40:08Speaker 10: So it's been on the field.
- 40:09Speaker 2: What if you learned as a father, he would never
- 40:12Speaker 2: have been told or couldn't believe it before.
- 40:15Speaker 10: The terrible twos. You know, terrible twos is a thing.
- 40:18Speaker 9: But you know, I feel like when you turn three,
- 40:20Speaker 9: when they turn three is horrible.
- 40:22Speaker 2: But he's a blessing.
- 40:23Speaker 10: Then three's worse.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Two.
- 40:25Speaker 10: Oh yeah, man, it's crazy.
- 40:26Speaker 15: Because he has a knowledge of what's going on, has
- 40:28Speaker 15: a better knowledge, you know, just gett into different things.
- 40:31Speaker 10: Is experience and more opinionating. Oh very much? You know
- 40:34Speaker 10: about it?
- 40:35Speaker 2: Anything you see? Well, Dad, I don't.
- 40:37Speaker 10: I don't think this.
- 40:38Speaker 2: It's okay. You briefly mentioned, but how much of your
- 40:41Speaker 2: release is that when you get away, you're so when
- 40:43Speaker 2: you're here, you're so intent on here and do what you.
- 40:46Speaker 10: How what a great release set is to have family
- 40:48Speaker 10: to go home to. Absolutely amazing.
- 40:50Speaker 9: You know, it's a place I found my piece area.
- 40:53Speaker 15: You know, so whenever I need to go somewhere, I
- 40:55Speaker 15: go to my family and I feel like they calmed
- 40:56Speaker 15: me down all the time.
- 40:57Speaker 10: What do they What do you think of Seattle?
- 41:00Speaker 15: I love see how you know, just liking it would
- 41:02Speaker 15: be an understatement, So I'm very in love with it.
- 41:04Speaker 2: What do you love about it? Pretty much?
- 41:05Speaker 15: You know, just the viewers, the size of being able
- 41:07Speaker 15: to see the people around. Everybody has great hospitality, So
- 41:10Speaker 15: I feel like it's amazing.
- 41:12Speaker 2: And defensively, what the concepts? Because they've been giving you
- 41:15Speaker 2: so much. How much do you think, you know, how
- 41:17Speaker 2: much is it down, how much is it's still work
- 41:20Speaker 2: in progress?
- 41:21Speaker 9: I know, way more than what I started with, you know.
- 41:23Speaker 15: I feel like, you know, there's something to carry over
- 41:25Speaker 15: from college. Also, did the game help bring it all together?
- 41:29Speaker 15: Or was it you've had worked on and practiced so much?
- 41:32Speaker 15: You know, it really did help bring out everything together.
- 41:34Speaker 15: But I feel like, you know, we.
- 41:35Speaker 9: Practiced everything so much, so it was just pretty much
- 41:37Speaker 9: practicing in the game.
- 41:38Speaker 10: State Bud Clark, your goals for this season personally in
- 41:41Speaker 10: team wise.
- 41:42Speaker 15: You know, I'm just trying doing everything I came for
- 41:44Speaker 15: my team, you know, and if all that, if all.
- 41:46Speaker 10: My cars played right, I'm trying to be rooked of the.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Year, work of the year, work of the year.
- 41:50Speaker 10: There you go, Richard Sherman talking to him, What is that?
- 41:54Speaker 10: What does anything he taught you he used in the
- 41:56Speaker 10: game the other you know, pretty much.
- 41:57Speaker 15: I tried to but I didn't have a two many
- 42:00Speaker 15: opportunities on the ball. But I feel like, you know,
- 42:02Speaker 15: just being able to listen to him, take his knowledge
- 42:03Speaker 15: for his advice, you know, and just applying to the
- 42:06Speaker 15: fields helping me a lot.
- 42:07Speaker 10: Is there any particular lesson that you've really helped stuck out.
- 42:11Speaker 15: To you pretty much, you know, because I'm a ball guy,
- 42:12Speaker 15: so he pretty much gave me different techniques about you
- 42:15Speaker 15: getting to the ball. So you know, I use those
- 42:17Speaker 15: for sure, but we don't mention that about your ball skills.
- 42:20Speaker 15: But yet you haven't had a ton And is there
- 42:23Speaker 15: a pressure? Do you feel a pressure to make those
- 42:25Speaker 15: plays or they just come to you. I feel like
- 42:27Speaker 15: they come to me, you know. I feel like watching
- 42:29Speaker 15: film and doing different things like that film and my
- 42:32Speaker 15: ability mixed world for sure.
- 42:36Speaker 2: That's Bud Clark, the rookie second round draft pick, talking
- 42:39Speaker 2: about his first NFL game. Bud Clark playing deep safety
- 42:43Speaker 2: the other night for the Seahawks and didn't get tested
- 42:46Speaker 2: by the Cowboys. They were stayed outside in the past game.
- 42:48Speaker 2: They ran, they ran stuff underneath, but not really getting
- 42:51Speaker 2: back out. To Bud Clark, it's interesting when he said
- 42:54Speaker 2: he thought that the three year olds were worse than
- 42:56Speaker 2: the quote terrible two is his son, three year old
- 42:59Speaker 2: Kenzo fiance Nasha Cooper. They have a three year old son, Kenza.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I can't remember when my kids were three. They're twenty
- 43:05Speaker 2: three now. I don't remember if three year olds are
- 43:07Speaker 2: worse than twos four nine, four, five one? Is that
- 43:10Speaker 2: true those of you that have young kids still were
- 43:13Speaker 2: three year old kids worse than two?
- 43:14Speaker 3: I mean, I think every family is different.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I don't remember that when it comes to that once,
- 43:19Speaker 2: just start talking and opinionated. I guess it's it. All
- 43:22Speaker 2: is a blurry three year old a human. Yeah, three
- 43:26Speaker 2: year old's worse than two. That's a good question I
- 43:27Speaker 2: should have. I'm gonna ask my wife that tonight. Yeah, one,
- 43:30Speaker 2: four or five one? Do you remember your three year olds?
- 43:32Speaker 2: If your parents out there, you remember your three year
- 43:34Speaker 2: olds being tougher to handle than your two year olds?
- 43:38Speaker 2: Interesting question for.
- 43:39Speaker 3: This had at once, so that might be a little different.
- 43:42Speaker 2: I did. We had twins and that's the only ones
- 43:44Speaker 2: we had, so we didn't know any better. But yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 2: i'd be interested your parents out there. Is that true?
- 43:49Speaker 2: Is Bud Carkwright three year olds are tougher to manage
- 43:51Speaker 2: than two year olds?
- 43:52Speaker 3: Well, they can run. At that point, pretty.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Cold for a rookie to have his fiance Nashi Cooper
- 43:58Speaker 2: and their three year old son Ken's out here in
- 44:01Speaker 2: Seattle with him to go home to after every Seahawks workday.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Up next, we got a little League World Series team

- 45:03Speaker 2: was yesterday. Judaian Price, the top rookie draft pick, returned
- 45:07Speaker 2: to full participation with the starting offense. He'd missed a
- 45:10Speaker 2: previous five full practice with a sore upper leg. He's
- 45:13Speaker 2: on track to be the lead running back for Seattle
- 45:15Speaker 2: Week one. As we've said all along, Toy Horton did
- 45:18Speaker 2: not practice. Coach Mike McDonald said his second year wide
- 45:20Speaker 2: receivers quote, working through some things. He had surgery in February.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Doctors put a metal rod in his leg to heal
- 45:26Speaker 2: that crack sh he got last November. Terry on Arno
- 45:29Speaker 2: remains unsigned. He has not arrived as of this morning
- 45:32Speaker 2: the Seahawks headquarters the Sports this morning reports from Ian
- 45:36Speaker 2: rappimort Mike Garfoulo of NFL Network saying that the NFL
- 45:39Speaker 2: and the Commissioner Roger Goodell are gonna put Terry Arnold
- 45:42Speaker 2: on their exempt list as soon as he signs, which
- 45:45Speaker 2: means he would not be able to practice or play
- 45:47Speaker 2: for the Seahawks even in the preseason, as the Seahawks
- 45:50Speaker 2: thought he would may be able to before they agreed
- 45:53Speaker 2: to this one year dealing them. So that's all up
- 45:56Speaker 2: in the air. Thirty four year old wide receiver Keenan
- 45:58Speaker 2: Allen signed with the Colts one year just over eight
- 46:00Speaker 2: million for the fourteenth NFL season for him. NFL commission
- 46:04Speaker 2: Roger Goodell called to a German TV network RTL yesterday, quote,
- 46:09Speaker 2: at some point there will be NFL teams outside the USA.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I have no doubt this will happen one day. Goodell
- 46:14Speaker 2: also said he could see a Super Bowl played an
- 46:16Speaker 2: international city next year. Of course, the league's gonna have
- 46:19Speaker 2: ten international games, up from eight this season. Hard Knocks
- 46:23Speaker 2: episode three to night, six pm on HBO The Seahawks
- 46:25Speaker 2: training camp. Mariners are in Milwaukee start a series against
- 46:29Speaker 2: the Brewers, and Bryce Miller starts for the m trying
- 46:32Speaker 2: to get himself on track. The Brewers are throwing nine
- 46:34Speaker 2: and three. Kyle Harrison, he's left handed. That's not good.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Trash Cans are hosting the Angels, so maybe no help there.
- 46:41Speaker 2: The Seattles three games behind the Houston for first place
- 46:44Speaker 2: in the ALS, two games out of a wildcard spot
- 46:46Speaker 2: thirty seven games a main. Mariners announced this morning there
- 46:49Speaker 2: will be a Rick Riz farewell weekend September twenty five
- 46:52Speaker 2: through twenty seven at the Yard. Last night comes Pete
- 46:56Speaker 2: crow Armstrong became the first player in Major League Baseball
- 46:59Speaker 2: in se seventy years to hit the first pitches team
- 47:03Speaker 2: saw for a home run and the last pitch of
- 47:05Speaker 2: the game the team saw for a walk off home run.
- 47:07Speaker 2: No one had done that in seventy years. Pete ro
- 47:09Speaker 2: Armstrong did at m MVP candidate led the Cubs over
- 47:12Speaker 2: the White Sox at Wrigley College Football's eight beats. Preseason
- 47:15Speaker 2: Top twenty five Ohio State and Oregon are won two
- 47:18Speaker 2: Georgia's three notre ings, four Texas five defending champion Indiana's sixth.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Washington Huskies are seventeenth. They play five top twenty five teams,
- 47:26Speaker 2: including Indiana, penn State in Iowa at home at Husky Stadium.
- 47:30Speaker 2: You'll hear all the games starting with the Apple Cup Sunday,
- 47:33Speaker 2: September sixth at one pm at Husky Stadium. Will always
- 47:36Speaker 2: live here on ninety three point three KJFM. And the
- 47:39Speaker 2: Soundview Little League team in Tacoma is headed to the
- 47:43Speaker 2: Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Soundview won the
- 47:47Speaker 2: Northwest Regional in San Bernardino, California, this past weekend. It's
- 47:51Speaker 2: the sixth straight year a Washington team has played in
- 47:53Speaker 2: the Little League World Series and the boys from Tacoma
- 47:57Speaker 2: are gonna be on national television on ESPN playing baseball
- 48:00Speaker 2: at the Little League World Series and Williamsport. The coach
- 48:02Speaker 2: is gonna send them there as Kyle Yarborough, he's talking
- 48:05Speaker 2: to us from the batting cages. I believe in Tacoma
- 48:08Speaker 2: live on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline on ninety three point
- 48:11Speaker 2: three KJR fan. Good morning, sir, thanks for joining us.
- 48:14Speaker 16: Hey, thanks for having us. Appreciate it.
- 48:17Speaker 2: You're welcome. I've read I read my colleague Tyler Wick
- 48:20Speaker 2: story in the News Tribune the quoted you just saying
- 48:22Speaker 2: this is the summer of their lives. Can you talk
- 48:25Speaker 2: us through the joy on the kids' faces and just
- 48:28Speaker 2: the joy you felt this whole process and then when
- 48:31Speaker 2: they get the third out of the regional final to
- 48:33Speaker 2: get to Williamsport.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it was.
- 48:37Speaker 12: It was magical, I guess to say to say it best, obviously,
- 48:41Speaker 12: it's it's a long season, it's a long postseason. We
- 48:44Speaker 12: had some ups and some downs both at state and
- 48:46Speaker 12: then again in regionals and played kind of starting Regionals,
- 48:48Speaker 12: had a couple stinker of games against Oregon and pulled
- 48:52Speaker 12: out that win, but then just played a bad one
- 48:54Speaker 12: against Idaho. So, you know, just getting to the end
- 48:58Speaker 12: of that whole process and and getting the punch out
- 49:01Speaker 12: there to end the game in San Bernardino, I think
- 49:04Speaker 12: there was a little bit of a relief of relief
- 49:06Speaker 12: on these guys his faces. I think that they knew
- 49:08Speaker 12: they're good enough to do it. It just was a
- 49:11Speaker 12: matter of going out and getting it done. And you know,
- 49:14Speaker 12: I don't think we really had any doubt in our
- 49:15Speaker 12: minds after the first game against Idaho, but you know,
- 49:18Speaker 12: it definitely makes you start thinking.
- 49:20Speaker 16: So for them to finish it out, it was awesome.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Are they all twelve year old? Do you have any
- 49:24Speaker 2: eleven year olds in your team? We do not.
- 49:27Speaker 16: Nope, this team is all twelves this year.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Yep.
- 49:31Speaker 16: Yeah, just kind of kind of the way it worked out.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, it's a lot of pressure to be on
- 49:36Speaker 2: national television and twelve years old playing trying to throw strikes,
- 49:39Speaker 2: trying to hit a baseball. How did they deal with it?
- 49:42Speaker 2: You do you get it to do outings? You take
- 49:43Speaker 2: them on Pizzo? How do you get them away from
- 49:45Speaker 2: the game so it's not just ball ball ball all
- 49:47Speaker 2: the time?
- 49:50Speaker 12: That's I mean, they've done a pretty good job here
- 49:52Speaker 12: at Williams Sports so far, just kind of helping us
- 49:55Speaker 12: through that process. There's just a lot of other things
- 49:57Speaker 12: that we have to do that kind of take your
- 49:58Speaker 12: mind off of, you know, throwing and catching and swinging,
- 50:03Speaker 12: you know. Down at Sam Bernardino, Gosh, it was we
- 50:06Speaker 12: had a couple days off almost between every game, so
- 50:08Speaker 12: as we were looking for things to do to kind
- 50:09Speaker 12: of occupy our time. So we practiced every day, we
- 50:12Speaker 12: hit every day, but then we just kind of hung
- 50:14Speaker 12: out as a team and uh, you know, just just
- 50:17Speaker 12: took it easy, just tried to tried to bond.
- 50:19Speaker 16: It's been a long summer. These guys know each.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Other really really well.
- 50:22Speaker 12: Now you know, they're all sleeping in one room and
- 50:25Speaker 12: so it's you know that that part of it's been fun.
- 50:28Speaker 12: The nerves part, I don't know. I don't know how
- 50:30Speaker 12: these guys do it. I think that us as Coasters
- 50:31Speaker 12: are more nervous than they are. They know, they don't
- 50:33Speaker 12: really seem to be two faced by it. So we'll
- 50:35Speaker 12: see what happens tomorrow. With the stands filled up and
- 50:37Speaker 12: obviously the beautiful setting here, hopefully they can keep their composure.
- 50:41Speaker 12: But the other team's gonna be fighting the same jitters
- 50:43Speaker 12: as we are, so it'll probably bounce out.
- 50:45Speaker 2: So you went straight from Sam Bernardino to Williamsport. Did
- 50:49Speaker 2: you even come home? Yeah?
- 50:50Speaker 12: We played, Yeah, we played the championship game down there
- 50:52Speaker 12: on Thursday night, had Friday off to kind of pack
- 50:56Speaker 12: our stuff and then the bus picked us up at
- 50:58Speaker 12: the hotel at six.
- 50:58Speaker 16: Am and we were in the air probably but I
- 51:00Speaker 16: think by nine to fifteen.
- 51:01Speaker 12: So pretty cool experience though for the kids, you know,
- 51:05Speaker 12: the Mountain and the West Champions also were down there
- 51:08Speaker 12: in San Bernardino, and so we all three teams hopped
- 51:10Speaker 12: on the charter flight, you know, straight to the airport.
- 51:13Speaker 12: We don't have to go through traditional security and all that,
- 51:15Speaker 12: and then we actually got to fly directly into Williamsport,
- 51:18Speaker 12: which is not open almost to general population, is what
- 51:21Speaker 12: they tell me.
- 51:22Speaker 16: So that's pretty cool.
- 51:23Speaker 12: Other teams had to land someplace else and then take
- 51:25Speaker 12: a four hour bus ride once they landed. So pretty
- 51:27Speaker 12: cool for us to be able to land right in Williamsport,
- 51:29Speaker 12: hop on a bus and we were here at the
- 51:30Speaker 12: complex within you know, twenty minutes.
- 51:32Speaker 2: So you packed up coach coach kyli Arbor joining us.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Sound they Little League to Coleman, that's in the Little
- 51:38Speaker 2: League World Series. He's called talking to us from Williamsport, Pennsylvania,
- 51:41Speaker 2: Little League World Series. Sorry, I understand you got to
- 51:43Speaker 2: leave in a few minutes for a parade. Did you fundraised,
- 51:46Speaker 2: did you have car washes? What did you do knowing
- 51:49Speaker 2: that you could go from San Bernardino straight to Williamsport.
- 51:53Speaker 2: And does the Little National Little League Federation start kicking
- 51:56Speaker 2: in money when you do advance? Yeah?
- 51:59Speaker 4: They.
- 52:00Speaker 16: It's definitely a costly endeavor for families.
- 52:03Speaker 12: I mean, you know, obviously time off of work for
- 52:04Speaker 12: parents to be able to attend the games and just
- 52:06Speaker 12: all that stuff. But yeah, once we qualified after state,
- 52:12Speaker 12: our travel to San Bernardino was covered by Little League International.
- 52:15Speaker 12: Our hotel and food and all that stuff was covered
- 52:17Speaker 12: by Little League International, and then same thing coming to
- 52:19Speaker 12: Williams Sports.
- 52:20Speaker 16: They covered all that and took care of all of that.
- 52:21Speaker 12: But yeah, I guess where the difficulty comes in is
- 52:24Speaker 12: just in the parents, you know, just getting last minute
- 52:26Speaker 12: airfare to San Bernardino and then last minute airfare at
- 52:28Speaker 12: home and then they.
- 52:29Speaker 16: Flew out here, so it does start to rack up
- 52:32Speaker 16: for them.
- 52:33Speaker 12: Our Little League has put out a fundraiser, a ze
- 52:36Speaker 12: Fie fundraiser that has done okay, you know, to help
- 52:38Speaker 12: offset some of those costs. The community has been really supportive,
- 52:41Speaker 12: which we're appreciated ab of. But yeah, it definitely does
- 52:43Speaker 12: get expensive.
- 52:44Speaker 16: But we were happy to be out.
- 52:46Speaker 12: Here doing our best, and you know, these can be
- 52:49Speaker 12: memories these guys are gonna make for the rest of
- 52:50Speaker 12: their lives, So I think it's probably worth it.
- 52:53Speaker 4: Kyle.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Big picture, I talk a lot. My kids were in
- 52:55Speaker 2: U sports as well, and I talk a lot about
- 52:58Speaker 2: U sports and we epidemic of parental involvement and how
- 53:02Speaker 2: a lot of people don't want to do what you
- 53:04Speaker 2: do and volunteer your time to coach youth because of
- 53:07Speaker 2: all the parental involvement and the professionalization of sports and
- 53:10Speaker 2: all of that. You know, the deal, What has your
- 53:13Speaker 2: experience been and what has this run done to maybe
- 53:16Speaker 2: dispel the notion that that's all you sports.
- 53:18Speaker 12: Is Well, my experience has been positive, you know, and
- 53:25Speaker 12: I know that's not everybody's experience, but uh, I think
- 53:28Speaker 12: and I could I could probably speak maybe a little
- 53:30Speaker 12: bit more to Little League in general versus like travel
- 53:33Speaker 12: and club baseball, which is a different animal. Little League
- 53:36Speaker 12: in general is they're very strict in their rules, and
- 53:39Speaker 12: it starts at districts. It's there's there's the whole no
- 53:43Speaker 12: contact with the players or coaches once they take the
- 53:45Speaker 12: field thing, and there they will hammer you on that.
- 53:47Speaker 16: So and then that that plays its way all the
- 53:50Speaker 16: way through. I mean you you know, you'll a coach.
- 53:52Speaker 16: A coach will be ejected as well as the.
- 53:54Speaker 12: Player if if they're communicating with people outside of the field,
- 53:58Speaker 12: and so just from from that that perspective, it does
- 54:00Speaker 12: a good job of keeping it to just the kids
- 54:02Speaker 12: on the field, which is what people want to see,
- 54:03Speaker 12: and then just the coaches helping those kids.
- 54:06Speaker 16: But I mean, more broadly.
- 54:08Speaker 12: Speaking, specifically for our little league, or a least for
- 54:10Speaker 12: my teams that I've coached in Little League, I've had
- 54:12Speaker 12: nothing but supportive parents. I think, you know, if you
- 54:14Speaker 12: if you outline it early on kind of what the
- 54:17Speaker 12: expectations are and kind of hold your ground, I think
- 54:19Speaker 12: most people are willing to toe the line and follow
- 54:22Speaker 12: the rules. Of course, you get those outliers that make
- 54:25Speaker 12: it difficult for everybody, but my experience hasn't hasn't been
- 54:29Speaker 12: that I've had any of those, So it's been generally
- 54:31Speaker 12: pretty positive.
- 54:32Speaker 2: That's great. And how did you get into this? I'm
- 54:35Speaker 2: assuming you were a coach of a little league team
- 54:37Speaker 2: and then became an All Star team coach or how
- 54:39Speaker 2: did you get to this?
- 54:41Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 54:41Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean I just started coaching twenty seventeen or so,
- 54:45Speaker 12: just pre COVID because I you know, my job didn't
- 54:48Speaker 12: allow me to be with my kids on the field
- 54:49Speaker 12: as much as I wanted to, so figured I could
- 54:52Speaker 12: coach and set the schedule and be part of it.
- 54:54Speaker 16: And then that just kind of morphed into all this.
- 54:56Speaker 2: So here we are.
- 54:57Speaker 12: You know, was that seven eight years, nine years later
- 54:59Speaker 12: or whatever? But yeah, just the regular season little league
- 55:02Speaker 12: coach coach the Major's team down here in Tacoma. There's
- 55:05Speaker 12: eight of us, eight majors coaches and uh and from
- 55:08Speaker 12: that they select the all star coach and then the
- 55:10Speaker 12: teams are formed and off we go.
- 55:11Speaker 2: So and so your kids are grown beyond little league
- 55:15Speaker 2: gage now yep.
- 55:17Speaker 12: This My youngest is twelve, so this is his last season.
- 55:20Speaker 12: My oldest aged out a couple of years ago. So yeah,
- 55:22Speaker 12: final final run for the little league and then it's
- 55:24Speaker 12: all over. So that's that's another reason we're just trying
- 55:26Speaker 12: to really soak it all in because he's great.
- 55:28Speaker 2: I mean it truly is.
- 55:29Speaker 12: This is the last stop, you know, and these guys
- 55:31Speaker 12: here in Williamsport have done a really good job of that,
- 55:34Speaker 12: kind of calming everybody down or asking us to calm
- 55:37Speaker 12: down a little bit and just saying, hey, listen, you've
- 55:38Speaker 12: made it through districts, you've made it through state, you've
- 55:40Speaker 12: made it through regionals.
- 55:41Speaker 16: There is no place else to go, So enjoy your time.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Here, you know what I mean.
- 55:45Speaker 12: Just soak it all in because because in two weeks
- 55:48Speaker 12: you're back to school and it's all over.
- 55:49Speaker 2: So, yeah, you have the parade today. What else off
- 55:53Speaker 2: the field are they doing for the boys and keep
- 55:55Speaker 2: them having fun?
- 55:57Speaker 12: Oh well, I mean just yesterday was like Disneyland, right
- 56:00Speaker 12: they we we went down and they outfitted them with
- 56:02Speaker 12: all the Adidas gear and the Rawlings gear and the jerseys,
- 56:05Speaker 12: and I mean it was it was that was pretty cool,
- 56:07Speaker 12: pretty cool to see, so, you know, and then there's
- 56:09Speaker 12: they have a game room here on the they call
- 56:11Speaker 12: it the Grove, which is kind of where the dorms
- 56:13Speaker 12: and stuff are. They've got a game room with video
- 56:15Speaker 12: games in ping pong and and there, you know a
- 56:17Speaker 12: lot of kids are out there doing that pin trading,
- 56:19Speaker 12: which I was unaware of.
- 56:20Speaker 16: I knew there were pins, but I didn't know how.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Big it was.
- 56:23Speaker 16: Uh, but Little League pin trading.
- 56:24Speaker 12: Is apparently a thing, and uh, there's people from all
- 56:27Speaker 12: over the world just it's an international tournament and they're
- 56:29Speaker 12: trading pins and they don't speak the same language, but
- 56:31Speaker 12: they're they're figuring out how to do it, so it's
- 56:33Speaker 12: kind of cool awesome.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Well, I know you have to run, but can you
- 56:36Speaker 2: give us your schedule, your game schedule here the next
- 56:38Speaker 2: couple of days and where we can watch you.
- 56:40Speaker 12: Yeah, it's gonna be on ESPN tomorrow at three pm Eastern,
- 56:45Speaker 12: so I think it's noon noon back home. And then
- 56:47Speaker 12: we'll play in the Southeast Champion, which is a team
- 56:49Speaker 12: from Alabama, and I think they look pretty good, so uh,
- 56:52Speaker 12: we'll see how that goes, and then win or lose.
- 56:54Speaker 12: I think it's like, if you lose, you play Saturday.
- 56:56Speaker 12: If you win, you play Friday or something. So but
- 56:58Speaker 12: we're just we got to those folks on tomorrow and
- 57:00Speaker 12: they'll figure out the rest from there. So yeah, it's
- 57:03Speaker 12: gonna be a good time looking forward to ready to
- 57:04Speaker 12: play some baseball and stop doing all the procedural stuff.
- 57:07Speaker 2: So are you miked up? We get to hear you
- 57:09Speaker 2: during the broadcast.
- 57:11Speaker 16: I think so.
- 57:12Speaker 12: Yeah, they will probably ask we were micd up down
- 57:15Speaker 12: to San Bernardino, So you're gonna mind my p's and q's.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I'm sure that will be do Kyle. I know I
- 57:21Speaker 2: appreciate you taking the time out, all the best you got,
- 57:24Speaker 2: the entire Northwest behind you, and just most of all,
- 57:26Speaker 2: have fun and thanks for doing what you do. Thanks
- 57:28Speaker 2: for doing it and serving us.
- 57:30Speaker 6: Yeah, no, our pleasure.
- 57:31Speaker 16: Thanks Greg for having us appreciate it.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Thank you, Kyle. Coach Kyle Yarborough from the Tacomas Soundview
- 57:37Speaker 2: Little League, the All star team the twelve year olds
- 57:39Speaker 2: have won the Northwest Region went straight from San Bernardino
- 57:42Speaker 2: to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where they will play tomorrow against the
- 57:46Speaker 2: Southeast winner from Alabama in the first game of the
- 57:50Speaker 2: Little League World Series. It's at noon start on ESPN.
- 57:52Speaker 2: As you heard coach Carr Yarborough say, that's a really
- 57:55Speaker 2: cool deal for twelve year old kids.
- 57:57Speaker 3: To trade pacing.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's cool to hear him say, yeah, I
- 58:01Speaker 2: know club ball and it can get wild, but he
- 58:05Speaker 2: hasn't experienced that. That's really coo.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, I just I think that is the coolest thing.
- 58:10Speaker 4: When I played Junior Olympic volleyball before in high school,
- 58:15Speaker 4: I met people from all over the country and then
- 58:17Speaker 4: we did have some international opponents, and that's exactly what
- 58:21Speaker 4: we did. We did share snacks and try to figure
- 58:24Speaker 4: out what each other was talking about, even if we
- 58:27Speaker 4: didn't speak the same language and didn't know their traditions.
- 58:30Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't know, here's some Intimates cookies and well,
- 58:35Speaker 4: here's some papoosas, and you know, everything was always just
- 58:39Speaker 4: so good and I think it's such a good experience
- 58:41Speaker 4: for young kids.
- 58:43Speaker 2: That's really And what else is really cool about that
- 58:45Speaker 2: is the international bracket is on one side of the tournament,
- 58:48Speaker 2: the US brackets on the other side. So if they're
- 58:52Speaker 2: worried about competitiveness or hey, we're playing you tomorrow, I'm
- 58:55Speaker 2: not talking to you that kind of stuff. The international
- 58:57Speaker 2: teams and American teams can mix and mingle and hang
- 58:59Speaker 2: out and go to pizzas and the arcades and stuff
- 59:02Speaker 2: together because they don't play each other till you're twelve.
- 59:06Speaker 3: And you're twelve, like, just be friends. This is what
- 59:09Speaker 3: this is what sports are about.
- 59:11Speaker 4: When you're in that age bracket, it's supposed to be
- 59:14Speaker 4: fun and not overbearing.
- 59:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's really cool. In the city of Williams, Port
- 59:19Speaker 2: of the town, it's really a town in central Pennsylvania
- 59:23Speaker 2: really opens it up. The doors literally of the town
- 59:26Speaker 2: open up for the kids who fly in there. Yeah.
- 59:28Speaker 2: I mean you heard him say how cool it was
- 59:30Speaker 2: just to fly a direct correctly in. Yeah, like a
- 59:33Speaker 2: big shot like their movie stars or pop stars touring
- 59:37Speaker 2: concerts and flying straight into these tiny airports. Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 4: I wonder if they were like swag on the plane,
- 59:43Speaker 4: you know, if they went Aj Barner at the Super
- 59:45Speaker 4: Bowl parade or something.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Or just getting the Adena swag, the Adenas gear yesterday, Yeah,
- 59:51Speaker 2: tournament gear. I know, kids at twelve years old, that's
- 59:53Speaker 2: huge merch like that. They love that. My kids twenty
- 59:56Speaker 2: three love that stuff still. That would be really cool.
- 59:59Speaker 4: I know I brought you guys to the lounge on
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: the way to the Army Navy game and he was
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: blown away.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Yeah you know he he loves that stuff at twenty three.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: So you can imagine twelve year olds and that's cool.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: I mean, the we'll remember this for the rest of
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: their lives. All they should, Yes, obviously, so if you
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: have a chance. And we hate that it's somewhat professionalized
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: that it's on live national television, but it's also really
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: cool for those kids.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: They do have fun with it, like the broadcast does
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: a really good job, like ESPN is actually really good
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: at letting them be kids.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and they'll show who their favorite player and major
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: league player is, or who their favorite ice cream flavor.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: Is, substitute teacher they have a crush on. I think
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: that's the funniest is that kid shot his shot man.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: That's tomorrow at noon soundview Little League from Tacoma carrying
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: the Northwest banner as a Northwest Region champion. They're in
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. If you
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: just missed our interview with their soundview literally head coaching Tacoma,
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Kyle Yarborough. You can go to the iHeartRadio app download
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: for free nine three three KJR or our website nine
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: three three kjr dot com. Go to the Greg Belt
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Show on the left hand side of the page and
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: that's where our podcast live and you can get all
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: our interviews. You can get Bud Clark, Devin Witherspoon, who
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: you heard from earlier saying he's cheap even though he's
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: making thirty three million a year.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: He's frugal, he's frugal.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: He's frugal. And then you in the but Clark interview,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: you heard him say three year olds are way worse
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: than the terrible twos. His son is three, Kenzo, and
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: he's out here with him with his fiance at training camp.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: And there are a ton of feedback on the Tacoma
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Dodts text line saying that Bud Clark is right. Yes,
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I think it's universal.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: A lot of people who are like, thank goodness, someone
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: said it out loud, because.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Yeah, three majors is not a word that I was
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: aware of.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we will read back your text. If you have
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: any talkbacks you stick can still go please ninety three
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: kJ dot com with the iHeartRadio after the red microphone
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: button playing back. We'll play those back next. We'll reback
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: you're text next. As you're a part of the show.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Ian will join me at eleven forty five to tell
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: me what he's got going from the Seahawks practice field
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: live from Retten on ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 1:02:29Speaker 13: Either Greg and Jessman. I really hope, as a lifelong
- 1:02:33Speaker 13: Mariners fan that probably cares more about this team than
- 1:02:37Speaker 13: the damn owners, that they move on from the Jerry
- 1:02:40Speaker 13: to Poto era after the season is over, because we're
- 1:02:44Speaker 13: not making the playoffs. Even in the most down year
- 1:02:48Speaker 13: in the American League probably in my lifetime, we're still
- 1:02:52Speaker 13: gonna miss the playoffs. This is ridiculous and beyond a
- 1:02:57Speaker 13: clown show and a joke.
- 1:02:59Speaker 11: This is strictly just and then just stopping in and saying,
- 1:03:02Speaker 11: I love the show, guys, keep up the great work.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Well, we do appreciate you stopping for you, though I'm
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: the one that begs for me. Is I love voices
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: on our show. There is still time to send some
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: in if you guys are out there. But yes, thank
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: you very much.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Every day we do that at eleven thirty talkbacks, So
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: go to the iHeartRadio app or go to nine through three.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: kJ our website is a red talkback button, the microphone
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: button at the top. Two fight three Dustin, Friend of
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: the show, Friend of the station. The Alabama team of
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: the Little League World Series that Takoma Soundview plays tomorrow
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: has a good a great story too. They're best players.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: A girl, best picture plays shortstop. That second really cool.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Her dad is former Major league player kolbe Rathmus.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: That's really cool. Yeah, well we've seen that too. There
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: was a big deal made about the picture her name
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: is escaping me right now. When she was kind of
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: the first woman girl.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: She was a girl at the time.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Who made the Little League World Series as well, and
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: she was I want to say Monique Davis, but I
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: might be wrong.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Speaking of women inside the diamond. Last night, it was
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: at a fundraiser in Mill Creek for a girls softball team.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Friend of mine and I used to coach with him,
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: is now a coach at this team. They had a
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: fundraiser and I was there and it was right behind
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: me was Danielle Laurie. Oh to ever do it?
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Dang?
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: Yeah, she held court with a bunch of the media.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Did you get to try to hit it against her? No?
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: No, I remember that. Yeah, they did do a media
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: thing at you dubs up. I was working at the
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: University of Washington when she was playing there, so I
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: became acquainted with her and many stories about her and
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: her daughter was at the Little League World Series for softball,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: the girls softball last week or I think it was
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: last week or two when she was there too, so
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: that yeah. I remember in my old U dub days
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: I mentioned about Roger Goodell mentioning that he thinks there's
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: going to be a super Bowl played outside of the
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: United States four to two five, So that the day
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: the Super bowls played outside the USA is the day
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: I'm done with the National Football League. Cadel is taking
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: jobs and income away from American taxpayers are fund in
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: most of these stadiums, plus takes taxes away from the
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: local bars, restaurants, and hotels. That's true, there's some truth
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: to that. I asked Bud Clark about his three year
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: old son, Kenzo, He's fiance. They're out here now, settled
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: in Seattle, now that the Seahawks have drafted me. He
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: laughed and said, man, the three year olds are way
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: worse than the quote Terrible twos. He's got an opinion
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: about everything, and the reaction of the text lot I
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: think is unanimous that he is right, is it? Quinn
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: two five three? Yes, we have a three year old
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: about to turn four. The fun is more fun at
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: three versus two years old, but the obstinate moments are
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: aggressively more difficult. We have three two oh six. We
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: have three kids who are adults now, but when they
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: were toddlers, they were all worse behaved at age three
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: than at age two. The Terrible twos were bad. But
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: I remember being shocked at how the threes were even
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: worse than by age four or five. They meddle out
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: a bit, but still terrors into their mid twenties. By
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: their mid twenties than his whole Southern state issues. I
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: believe me. Just trust me on that. I can't remember
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: twos and threes, but I'm living twenty three. You're still parenting.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, I hear you. And then you get grandkids
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: and then you got to do it all over again.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: Eventually, By the way, I said, Monique, I met Money Davis.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: That's what I was thinking of.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, thank you, Donnie from the two five to
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: three now Tacoma Pierce County Way where sound views from
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: The only thing worse than a three year old is
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: coaching ten, five and six year olds and T ball.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, t balls. You gotta have some patience to
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: be a T ball coach. You got to even just
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: to direct them to run to first base.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: I mean, do you ever watch those compilation videos of
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: kids who have no idea what they're doing?
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's most of the kids at that age, right, Yeah.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Yes, Oh it's fun, it's fun.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: But yeah, I'm glad that people relate to Bud Clark
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: talking about it.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Yes, the four two five dad of three kids, seven
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: four and ten months, hats off to you, sir, seven
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: four and ten months, can confirm, can confirm quote threeen
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: agers are harder. We hadn't heard that one before.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that term.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Yeah, because then they can, like they have all their
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: autonomy of movement. They don't need to you know, be
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: in you know, a seat or a stroller. They can
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: just run and then that talk, that's kind.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Of what he's alluding to here. He said. Two year
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: olds are still little kids who throw tantrums, but they
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: are controllable and easily distracted.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't shake car keys in front of a
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: three year old, and I expect that the tantrum goes away.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: But I'll tell you what, nothing is more tiring than
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: an eleven month old that won't sit still and you
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: can't leave alone. I remember those days more than I
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: remember twos and threes. I didn't sleep a whole night
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: until my twins were four years old. My wife slept
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: soundly because she was exhausted working full time at children's hospital, parenting, nursing,
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: the whole thing. And so she's smoked, and so when
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: she goes to bed at like eight or five, ye,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: she's done until the next morning. Year. So those kids
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: the minute one and I'm just breaking all the rules
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: of parenting twins. The minute one would peep, I would
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: run into their room. To this day, I can't sleep
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: soundly because of this, but I'd run into the room
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: so that the other one wouldn't wake up because they're
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: both up and mom's sleep and you're done as a dad.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: You're finished at three am. So I was always trying
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: to keep one of them asleep, so I would rushing
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: to get the other. I didn't have a full night
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: sleep for four years. My job was pretty good that way.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: People were like, hey, what'd you do in Tampa? I slept?
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: Yes, oh my gosh, yourself. Yes, yes, I have that
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: with the cubs too. And I'm like, I can't clean
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: right now. I can't do the dishes, I can't empty
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: the dishwasher, I can't dust.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: You know what, I am going to bed, yes.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Bud Clark is one right to two five three said
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: threes are so much worse than twos because by age
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: three they start to want some independence, but they can't
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: do much. By themselves. Everything is a battle.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: It's a good way to put yeah, welcome and good
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: luck at uh four dude, because there's a lot more
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: vocabulary coming down the pike.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Two five three. I currently have a three year old,
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: and he's ten times worse when he was than when
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: he was two. The tantrums are greater combined with the
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: periods of unwillingness to listen or just over the top. Yeah, man,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: I've been there, don't.
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: I don't have that experience, but I do as an ANTI,
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: and I'm well aware of everything that entails.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Should probably appreciate you just taking over and helping them out.
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: I love being an ANTI because I fly in, I
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: spoil the crap out of them. Then that becomes their
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: new expectation, and then I, uh, you know, read them
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: to bed, and then I fly out.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Two five, Greg, you keep referring to the Arnold deal
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: as a layaway deal. I think there's a large chunk
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: of your listeners that don't know what a layaway is.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: Maybe you should explain that and ed kmartin with it. Yeah,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: that's true. You are layaways gone.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: No, there's I think there's things that do it. There
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: are companies that do it.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: It used to be that you could buy a product.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Sometimes it was maybe a brand new television or computer
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: that hadn't come in yet, but you put down money
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: for it, but you pick it up later.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: They charged an axorbitant price.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: It's usually a layoway fee of ye up charge of
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: some kind, but it was it would you can put
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: it on lay away, meaning you buy it but then
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: not be able to take it home or use it
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: till either it came in, maybe something was out of stock.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: It was a really popular item, you'd buy it but
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: then have it on lay away to pick up later.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: I don't know how many people now in the days
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: of Amazon and being able to deliver it in an hour.
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: Yeah, but some people don't have the capital right up front,
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: and they do have some layaway companies. I do believe
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: that they still have that, I've seen them. But the
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: thing is you end up because you're paying monthly, you
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: end up paying.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: A lot more.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, or any other any other credit type of deal.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: Keep a little bit of that. But to suffice to
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: say that my point about the Seahawks is they'd be
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: paying up front and perhaps getting in the front of
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: the line to have their money in on Arnold, first signed,
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: yet not be able to use them and not be
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: able to have the product. That's what I meant by
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: the layaway. But thanks if people. Maybe I'm dating myself
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: with the term lay away, but that's no.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: They're still commercials.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: I mean layaway is I maybe a little antiquated, but
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: it's still the same thing. Maybe they call it something
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: else because of the stigma that was built around it.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: Hey, this is this is really cool from the three
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: to six. Oh thank you. This is not for my
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: wife or anyone I know. Okay, the best radio sports
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: program in the land, the balance of pro college, military,
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: high school, even Little League or first Cabin. I like
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: that term first Cabin. Factual information, feel good stories, insight
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: into the players and families as people, and Jess is
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: a great addition to the team. Keep up the great work.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: Oh, I appreciate that. Three six though I love working
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: with Greg.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: I appreciate that even though I yeah, and Greig is amazing.
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: And even though we hadn't were together on a daily
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: show for a very long time, we always did Army
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: Navy and we still do Army Navy together, and so
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: technically Greg is the first person I.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Worked with she worked an Army Navy weekend with me
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: before she was even a kJ OR employee. Awesome.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Maybe that was my audition.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: I think you couldn't. I think at the time I
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: couldn't mention you were hired by kJ R or something
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: because it wasn't official yet. I wasn't.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: I actually was not employed at the time.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: That was though. We have a blast to let you
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: know how much Jessman and I enjoyed the Army Navy Game.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: When the the USAA, who sponsors the event, they put
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: out a feeler in the summer. Okay, who's interested? Can
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: we have your bioinformation your flight you have TSA type
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: information for flight purposes. It's like one of the best
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: days of my year. First. Yes, and she and I
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: like were just we You're giddy in like July when
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: the USA email comes for the artist.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Yes, every single time, I'm like, can I tell Greg?
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: Can I we're doing it right? Can I be the
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: one that tells him? Because I know how happy it
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: makes you.
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: I've said this story on the air before, but if
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: I did not, if they couldn't get to send me
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: to the Army Navy Game, I wouldn't do any of this.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Through the seven AM. I wouldn't do the show. I
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: don't care to pay whatever it's about getting go to
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: the Army Davy year. This year it's in New York City.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Jess and I the second Saturday, second Friday of December
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: are going to be a Times Square New York. That's
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: where the radio row is going to be this year.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: The game is out at the Meadowlands, a couple miles
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: west of the New Jersey Swamps. But yeah, we're going
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: to be spending Times Square. The Christmas time in New
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: York is specially if you've never done it, those of
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: you that had born and raised in the West Coast,
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: if you've never done it, gustment, sun it all the time,
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: s come a long island. But if you've never been
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: in New York City around Christmas time, it's magical.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: Oh it's so much better than going in the summer.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: It is like when I go home in you know,
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: in the summer it is long island, like right me
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: to the beach.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: For obviously, the city though, is horrid in the summer.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: I do not like the city. The city in the
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: winter is, Oh my gosh, it's so great. I don't
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: care how touristy.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: It is just do it. The rockets Central Park and
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: the horse drunk carriages in the snow, the ice rink
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: at Rockefeller Center, all of it. My kids we went
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: for a U dub basketball trip once. They played Marquette
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: on a Tuesday night and we got to stay until
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: a Saturday game against Duke. At both games in Madison
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Square Garden. So my family game and my kids are
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: like in third grade and we were like throwing their
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: teacher at Green Lakes High Elementary and Seattle. Sorry, we're
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: gonna take the kids out for like four days. We're
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: taking to New York. I'm sorry. The miser and the
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: teacher to his credit, it's like, are you kidding me?
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: They're gonna never forget this trip. They're gonna learn so
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: much in New York City. Go, yeah, that's that's adjustment.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: I'll be doing the second.
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: Yes, we'll be in Times Square, which is amazing. The
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: game is all the way in New Jersey, but that's
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: because no teams playing New York anymore except for the
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: Nets and the next But uh yeah, yeah, that's gonna
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: be very very special.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: Up next, Ian for Nass sitting down next to me
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: here from the edge of the Seahawks practice field. We'll
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: talk about the terry On Arnold situation, maybe other things
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: and what he's got going today. Twelve to three on
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: ninety three point three k j R. Fam Hi, Welcome back,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Greg Bell, Jessman McIntyre now Ian for nass all here
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: at Seahawks Chain Well Jestment's back at the studio and
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: Elliott Day, I'm in Seahawks Wow training camp. Now it's
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: preseason NFL news from the day tarry On Arnold not
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: yet signed with the Seahawks. When he does sign, the
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: news is that NFL commission Roger Goodell is going to
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: put him on the exemp list immediately, meaning he would
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: not be able to practice nor play for the Seahawks
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: in the preseason. And also Ian is just alerting me
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: that yet another injury in forty nine Ers preseason camp.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Mike Evans not practicing because of an injury, not practice early,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: so he got hurt in practice. Substation Far and Lassy
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: our friends had the twenty dudes were not practicing when
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: he was there.
- 1:17:32Speaker 14: LUNs On with his two will blame him today.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: You were on the call for was it Western One
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: or Sports Compass Media on the national radio call of
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: the Cowboys Seahawks preseason game with Cam Cleveland voiced covoice
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: of the Huskies here on KJR. How was that Seahawks
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Cowboys in the national radio for you?
- 1:17:50Speaker 14: Fun is very much out of my normal comfort zone.
- 1:17:55Speaker 14: I hadn't done a football game in a while, but
- 1:17:58Speaker 14: and certainly I had never done an NFL game. So
- 1:18:00Speaker 14: that was a thrill just to do that, being that
- 1:18:02Speaker 14: booth and and look down and call it. I I'm
- 1:18:06Speaker 14: just gonna Husky fans, You're lucky to have Cam.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: He's so good. I mean, he is he I think with.
- 1:18:13Speaker 14: An analyst, I want an analyst that doesn't tell me
- 1:18:16Speaker 14: what just happened. I want to tell me why and
- 1:18:18Speaker 14: how it happened and see like and and that's why
- 1:18:22Speaker 14: I've been really lucky this the last twelve months, you know,
- 1:18:26Speaker 14: doing some crack and TV games, when Fortlin, when John
- 1:18:28Speaker 14: Frolzan's been out, JT. Brown's really good, Eddie Olcheck's the best.
- 1:18:32Speaker 14: And that's what those guys tell you, you know, like,
- 1:18:35Speaker 14: and that's what Cam was. Yeah, It's like Cam will say, hey,
- 1:18:38Speaker 14: you know he saw this. It was a stick er
- 1:18:40Speaker 14: oute here and that's what he saw, like I call
- 1:18:42Speaker 14: the game, I've told you what's happened. At least if
- 1:18:45Speaker 14: I'm doing my job and I don't know, i'd be debatable.
- 1:18:47Speaker 14: But if I could, like that should be the play
- 1:18:48Speaker 14: and then analysts tell you what, how and why right?
- 1:18:53Speaker 14: And Cam's just and he does it succinctly.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: It was funny.
- 1:18:57Speaker 14: The guy asked me how many times we'd work together.
- 1:18:59Speaker 14: I talked to the executive producer. He asked, we have
- 1:19:01Speaker 14: times we work together? I said, on a play by
- 1:19:04Speaker 14: play call in an NFL game. He said, yeah, I
- 1:19:06Speaker 14: go never and he said, he goes, how many games
- 1:19:09Speaker 14: have you guys done together? I said none. I'm a koog,
- 1:19:11Speaker 14: he's a husky. We don't do college games together either.
- 1:19:14Speaker 14: He said, wow, okay, I said, well, I said, is
- 1:19:17Speaker 14: Cam's just really good at reading the play by play guy,
- 1:19:21Speaker 14: stopping when he needs to, not stepping on you. He's
- 1:19:27Speaker 14: just really good, man, I had.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: I had a ton of fun with him.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:19:29Speaker 14: It was really and I like Cam. We've known each
- 1:19:31Speaker 14: other for a long a lot of a lot of years,
- 1:19:33Speaker 14: and I really like him as well. So for me,
- 1:19:35Speaker 14: that was kind of cool to do it with somebody
- 1:19:36Speaker 14: like that. Who I like and I respect, and so yeah,
- 1:19:40Speaker 14: it was. It was a ton of I have no
- 1:19:41Speaker 14: idea what happened in the game. I was telling Greg
- 1:19:44Speaker 14: off the air, I go, you know, when you call
- 1:19:45Speaker 14: a game, you when you're doing the play by play,
- 1:19:50Speaker 14: you're just so worried about down distance, who's on the field,
- 1:19:53Speaker 14: blah blah blah, all those things, and then you reset
- 1:19:54Speaker 14: after every play. You're not really thinking about when you're recovering,
- 1:19:57Speaker 14: like all those years of my reporter sitting up there
- 1:19:59Speaker 14: for FO. So I'm like writing down, Okay, this happened.
- 1:20:01Speaker 14: This happening Monday. I could tell you every play. I
- 1:20:04Speaker 14: couldn't tell you anything, but.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: You described it.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: You did it.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: I did. Yeah, Yeah, we'll see. So you got John Lyne,
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: who's now back at K and b R.
- 1:20:14Speaker 14: Yeah, Sun's joining us at two o'clock today, and then
- 1:20:17Speaker 14: we'll check in Joe she and his weekly visit at
- 1:20:19Speaker 14: one twenty.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: He'll be all happy.
- 1:20:20Speaker 14: He'd be walking around like a peacock today because Roade
- 1:20:22Speaker 14: Brian Woo has been good in his last two road starts,
- 1:20:24Speaker 14: and Joe's been telling us to relax, so that'll be good.
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:20:28Speaker 14: And then Jaylen Milrose schedule to join us off the
- 1:20:30Speaker 14: top of the show. See how quarterback. So we'll check
- 1:20:32Speaker 14: in with him. He'll get some more snaps this weekend,
- 1:20:34Speaker 14: I'm sure in Tennessee.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: So yeah, you're probably can at least half the game
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: Sunday night. I would think I would think, Yeah, I was,
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: I was.
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: McDonald did kind of rotate it a little bit. That
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: was unusual for them too. Yeah, and out and back
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: in end. Yeah. A couple series here, a couple of series.
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: Couple series. So we'll see how that rotation works. So yeah,
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: that is the in for now. Is quiet out here,
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: it is so quiet. Fans are gone, the tents are down,
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: the fences are down. That's weird. Regular football, well, regular
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: Sea in mode. Here we are in August. Seahawks will
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: practice this afternoon. I'm gonna go talk to Brady Russell.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: You'll hear from him tomorrow on our show. Jessamin Mcataran.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: I'll be back again ten to noon. Thanks for your text,
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: Thanks for you talkbacks. We'll do it again tomorrow at
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: ten from Seahawks headquartersines up next to ninety three point
