- 0:12It is the most wonderful time of the year,
- 0:15and that time,
- 0:16of course,
- 0:16is the annual re-airing of the greatest Christmas movie of all time.
- 0:20Yes,
- 0:21the Christmas twist is here on this program.
- 0:24Do not miss it.
- 0:25Around,
- 0:26uh,
- 0:26later in the show to experience
- 0:28the Christmas magic,
- 0:29if you haven't
- 0:30before.
- 0:31And of course,
- 0:32if you have,
- 0:32you already know what I'm talking about.
- 0:34We're also going to start here though by doing Trump's 2026 plans,
- 0:37big speech by Donald Trump,
- 0:38uh,
- 0:39last night.
- 0:39A lot of people thought it was gonna be some big Venezuela,
- 0:41uh,
- 0:41uh,
- 0:42war announcement.
- 0:42I'm not sure that's how you announce a war.
- 0:45Hey,
- 0:46we're scheduling this two days in advance,
- 0:47just to let everybody know.
- 0:48Uh,
- 0:49that's not usually the way that works.
- 0:50Uh,
- 0:50it did not work this time.
- 0:51It wasn't a super long speech,
- 0:52but there was a lot going on and.
- 0:54And when you're president of the United States,
- 0:55there's a lot of stuff
- 0:57that happens
- 0:58in your,
- 0:58in your presidency.
- 0:59A lot of stuff that happened in your life at that time.
- 1:01There are ups and there are downs,
- 1:03right?
- 1:03There are some real highs,
- 1:04some real lows.
- 1:05Right now,
- 1:05Donald Trump isn't necessarily at the highest point in his administration,
- 1:09at least according to the polls,
- 1:10Trump's approval is down 8 points
- 1:12since the start
- 1:14of the year.
- 1:14And,
- 1:15you know,
- 1:15they've been,
- 1:15we've seen a lot of polls in the high 30s and low 40s,
- 1:18right?
- 1:18That's where he was mostly in the first term.
- 1:21Uh,
- 1:21of his presidency.
- 1:23Second term started off a lot higher than that,
- 1:25was much more optimistic.
- 1:26It has ticked down a little bit since.
- 1:28So when something like that happens,
- 1:30you're usually going to make some decisions to try to kind of rejuvenate things,
- 1:33get things going again,
- 1:34try to kickstart something new in the new year,
- 1:36and
- 1:37that's what we had.
- 1:38Trump attempts a domestic reset with fast-paced White House address last night.
- 1:42Um,
- 1:42I want to give you some of this,
- 1:44uh,
- 1:44here,
- 1:44and I want to go through it with you.
- 1:46Uh,
- 1:46a couple of things I thought were pretty interesting.
- 1:49Number one,
- 1:50I think a change in tactics when it comes to talking about affordability.
- 1:54This has been one of the things that everyone's talked about,
- 1:56affordability.
- 1:57Trump's tactic kind of before was,
- 2:00look,
- 2:00this is a hoax the Democrats are doing.
- 2:01And I think what he meant by that,
- 2:03if I may,
- 2:04is to say,
- 2:05It's not that prices aren't high.
- 2:07The hoax here is that the Democrats are blaming us for it.
- 2:11That's the scam,
- 2:12right?
- 2:12That's what I think he was going for there,
- 2:14but he never really articulated it that way.
- 2:16This is how he started the speech last night.
- 2:1911 months ago,
- 2:20I inherited a mess,
- 2:22and I'm fixing it.
- 2:24When I took office,
- 2:25inflation was the worst in 48 years,
- 2:28and some would say in the history of our country.
- 2:31Which caused prices to be higher than ever before,
- 2:34making life unaffordable
- 2:36for millions and millions of Americans.
- 2:39This happened during
- 2:41a Democrat administration,
- 2:43and it's when we first began hearing the word
- 2:46affordability.
- 2:47Our border was open,
- 2:49and because of this,
- 2:50our country was being invaded by an army of
- 2:5325 million people,
- 2:55many who came from prisons and jails,
- 2:57mental institutions,
- 2:58and.
- 2:59Insane asylums.
- 3:01They were drug dealers,
- 3:02gang members,
- 3:03and even 11,888 murderers,
- 3:07more than 50% of whom killed more than one person.
- 3:11This is what the Biden
- 3:13administration
- 3:14allowed to happen to our country.
- 3:16And it can never be allowed to happen again.
- 3:20We had men playing in women's sports,
- 3:22transgender for everybody,
- 3:25crime at record levels
- 3:26with law enforcement and
- 3:29words such as that just absolutely forbidden.
- 3:33We had the worst trade deals ever made and our
- 3:36country was laughed at from all over the world,
- 3:39but they're not laughing anymore.
- 3:42Over the past 11 months,
- 3:44we have brought more positive change to Washington
- 3:47than any administration in American history.
- 3:51Uh,
- 3:52kind of a strong start to a speech.
- 3:53I,
- 3:53you know,
- 3:54there's some stuff in there.
- 3:54There's some stats you can kind of quibble with for sure.
- 3:57Um,
- 3:57and,
- 3:58uh,
- 3:58I don't,
- 3:58you know,
- 3:58uh,
- 3:59transgender for everybody,
- 4:01even you.
- 4:01That's right.
- 4:02How many times did you change gender during
- 4:03Joe Biden?
- 4:04But you get what he's talking about here,
- 4:05right?
- 4:05It was all over the place.
- 4:06It was all over the place.
- 4:07And he's come in and set a kind of a guideline here,
- 4:09set,
- 4:10I think,
- 4:10the tone,
- 4:11certainly where he can control,
- 4:13uh,
- 4:14you know,
- 4:14whether we're paying,
- 4:14the military's paying for surgeries for transgendered people.
- 4:18He's been able to step in and do something about that.
- 4:20I,
- 4:20the main thing I want to focus on there though,
- 4:22is he inherited a mess from the Biden
- 4:25administration and he's fixing it.
- 4:26That is,
- 4:28uh,
- 4:29a tactic that
- 4:30at times can be overused.
- 4:32Barack Obama,
- 4:32most famously,
- 4:34in like 2015 was still saying it was George Bush's fault about the economy.
- 4:37Like I,
- 4:38you know,
- 4:38at some level that,
- 4:39that
- 4:40excuse does run out.
- 4:42But it also is an important,
- 4:43uh,
- 4:44thing for a new president.
- 4:46And that's why I really didn't like the approach of,
- 4:48oh,
- 4:48this is just a hoax.
- 4:49Oh,
- 4:50actually everything's already great and we solved it already.
- 4:53Saying instead,
- 4:54we had a real problem
- 4:55that we walked in on,
- 4:56it's why you elected me in the first place and we're in the process of fixing it.
- 4:59You can see the progress.
- 5:00Let me tell you about the progress,
- 5:01is a much better message.
- 5:03Now,
- 5:03I will say,
- 5:03he,
- 5:04it has a,
- 5:05a shelf life.
- 5:06You can't just say forever,
- 5:07you can't do the Barack Obama thing.
- 5:08You're not gonna get away with it like he did.
- 5:10You're going to have to at some point show
- 5:12progress.
- 5:13Now we did have new inflation numbers that came out today where inflation was lower
- 5:16than expected and it's been as low as it really it has been in a long time.
- 5:20I think it was 2.7%.
- 5:21So that's good.
- 5:22What I'm saying mainly here is this is much better messaging.
- 5:25This is much better messaging.
- 5:27And it's a key tool for a president.
- 5:29You don't come in and turn these things around in a minute.
- 5:32It takes some time.
- 5:32I mean,
- 5:33it's the same thing with Reagan,
- 5:34the inflation
- 5:35rate under Reagan was still going up,
- 5:37if I remember right.
- 5:37It wasn't until like mid
- 5:391981 where it really started coming back down,
- 5:41early in mid 1981.
- 5:43Um,
- 5:44or 82,
- 5:45actually,
- 5:4582,
- 5:45sorry,
- 5:46yeah,
- 5:4680 he was elected,
- 5:4781 took office.
- 5:48It was up high for
- 5:49most of '81,
- 5:50it started coming down in '82,
- 5:52and that's when
- 5:53things really turned around and obviously led to maybe the biggest landslide
- 5:57election in American history.
- 5:58Um,
- 5:59and the reason this is,
- 6:00this is an important thing for presidents to have.
- 6:03You might say,
- 6:03well,
- 6:03it sounds like an excuse.
- 6:05At some level it is.
- 6:06It's,
- 6:06it's not an excuse though without reason.
- 6:08You know,
- 6:09you don't get to just control,
- 6:10you're not the king.
- 6:11You know,
- 6:11if you were in one of these other countries,
- 6:13if you were Kim Jong-un coming into office,
- 6:14you pretty,
- 6:15pretty much got to get that,
- 6:16uh,
- 6:16all your changes can be implemented within the first week.
- 6:19It's not the way this country works,
- 6:20thankfully.
- 6:21You know,
- 6:21if you're a,
- 6:22uh,
- 6:22your team,
- 6:23uh,
- 6:23goes,
- 6:23you know,
- 6:244 and 13,
- 6:25and you get hired as a coach,
- 6:26you have a year,
- 6:27right?
- 6:28To,
- 6:28I mean,
- 6:28you might also,
- 6:29you might go
- 6:292 and 15 the next year or 5 and 12,
- 6:32whatever it is.
- 6:33But you can say,
- 6:34look,
- 6:34we came in here,
- 6:35things weren't going so great.
- 6:36I need to have time to get things turned around,
- 6:38so you have that time,
- 6:39and that is an important thing.
- 6:40Trump shouldn't abandon that time.
- 6:42Take advantage of that time as much as you can,
- 6:44and you're going to probably have to show real progress
- 6:47by June.
- 6:48Maybe the inflation numbers today
- 6:50are the first step there.
- 6:51Now another big announcement was this big uh
- 6:55check to
- 6:57military members,
- 6:58$1,776.
- 7:00Here is Donald Trump
- 7:01explaining that.
- 7:03Along with the
- 7:04just passed one big beautiful bill
- 7:07tonight,
- 7:08I am also proud to announce
- 7:10that more than 1,450,000,
- 7:14think of this,
- 7:151,450,000 military service members will receive a special
- 7:22we call
- 7:23warrior dividend before Christmas.
- 7:25A warrior dividend
- 7:27in honor of our nation's founding in 1776,
- 7:31we are sending every soldier
- 7:33$1,776.
- 7:38Think of that,
- 7:39and the checks are already
- 7:41on the way.
- 7:42Nobody
- 7:43understood that one until about 30 minutes ago.
- 7:49It's,
- 7:50it's an interesting time to be alive,
- 7:51that I will say.
- 7:52Um,
- 7:53look,
- 7:53nobody deserves more money than our military.
- 7:56Uh,
- 7:56they're fantastic.
- 7:57I love the troops.
- 7:58I love,
- 7:59uh,
- 7:59our military members.
- 8:00We talk to them all the time.
- 8:01They,
- 8:01you know,
- 8:02they watch this show,
- 8:02they listen to the radio show.
- 8:04You guys are awesome,
- 8:04and if anybody deserves a big chunk of money like this,
- 8:07it's you guys.
- 8:08There's no question about that.
- 8:09You know,
- 8:10if I step back from that a little bit,
- 8:11and just my emotional tie to the troops,
- 8:13uh,
- 8:13and my
- 8:14pragmatic and logical tie to understanding that they
- 8:17do such a great job,
- 8:18they deserve more money,
- 8:20I'm fine with that.
- 8:21I do think we should step back and think a little bit about
- 8:23um the other sides of this,
- 8:25which is,
- 8:25number one,
- 8:26we don't really have this money,
- 8:27right?
- 8:27This is not real,
- 8:28this is not like our money.
- 8:29We're printing money,
- 8:30we're borrowing money
- 8:31to give this out.
- 8:32We are not in a position where we have a surplus.
- 8:35We're in a position where we have a massive.
- 8:37The highest deficits we've ever had.
- 8:38And you know,
- 8:39look,
- 8:39yes,
- 8:39Biden's were really,
- 8:40really high.
- 8:41Trump's were really,
- 8:41really high too.
- 8:42It's not really a big part of his platform
- 8:45to address the deficit.
- 8:46So
- 8:46we're just kind of,
- 8:48he's like,
- 8:48well,
- 8:49you know,
- 8:49we're spending the tariff money.
- 8:50We'll get to a little bit more of that here in a second,
- 8:52but
- 8:53Uh,
- 8:55you know.
- 8:56It's just one of those things we don't actually really have that money.
- 8:59The second part of this is
- 9:01the,
- 9:01the process here is a little unclear,
- 9:03like why
- 9:05can't he just give
- 9:06money away to,
- 9:07to the troops?
- 9:08Like where,
- 9:08where is that?
- 9:09How does that,
- 9:10look,
- 9:10if you get a couple $100 billion in,
- 9:11in tariffs,
- 9:12uh,
- 9:12oh,
- 9:13that's,
- 9:13um,
- 9:13great if,
- 9:14if you
- 9:15like the idea of the government having more of your money,
- 9:17that's,
- 9:17that's fantastic.
- 9:18The question though
- 9:19is,
- 9:19uh,
- 9:19what do you do with that money?
- 9:20Well,
- 9:21the answer to that is not the president gets to pick.
- 9:24That's not how that works.
- 9:25The president has to go through Congress to spend that.
- 9:27There might be just a pile of military money
- 9:29sitting around in some budget that they weren't using,
- 9:31and that's what he's paying for this,
- 9:32uh,
- 9:33with this for.
- 9:34I don't,
- 9:34I,
- 9:34I don't know,
- 9:35honestly.
- 9:35I,
- 9:36I,
- 9:36I frankly,
- 9:37I don't know.
- 9:37And I will say the other thing about this is
- 9:40nobody in Congress has the balls to step up and say,
- 9:42no,
- 9:42you can't give the troops more money.
- 9:44If you want to put that through Congress,
- 9:46it's going to pass.
- 9:47So why not go through Congress and do it the right way.
- 9:50Um,
- 9:50maybe there's some other,
- 9:51we,
- 9:51we haven't,
- 9:52we,
- 9:52they didn't reveal what the funding mechanism was for this,
- 9:54so we'll have to kind of speculate on that until
- 9:56we actually know.
- 9:57Uh,
- 9:57here is Trump talking about a big tax refund,
- 10:00maybe you're coming your way.
- 10:02Next year you will also see
- 10:04the results of the largest tax cuts in American history
- 10:08that were really accomplished through our
- 10:10great
- 10:11big beautiful bill,
- 10:12perhaps the most sweeping legislation ever passed in Congress.
- 10:17We wrapped 12 different bills up into one beautiful bill that includes.
- 10:22No tax on tips,
- 10:23no tax on overtime,
- 10:25and no tax on Social Security
- 10:28for our great seniors.
- 10:30Under these cuts,
- 10:31many families will be saving between $11,000 and $20,000 a year,
- 10:37and next spring is projected to be the largest tax refund season
- 10:42of all time.
- 10:43Not sure those numbers will be that big,
- 10:45but of course these tax cuts are in the Big Be bill.
- 10:49Much of the Big Beautiful bill was just continuing previous tax cuts,
- 10:52his own previous tax cuts,
- 10:53which I think he deserves credit for.
- 10:55And it would have been a disaster if we did not continue them,
- 10:57though I don't expect a huge additional benefit from keeping them in place.
- 11:02But there are some new tax
- 11:04pieces there that of course are part of the Big Beautiful bill,
- 11:07and he did talk about that.
- 11:09Now Trump also proposed a $2000 dividend
- 11:11funded by tariffs.
- 11:14I guess it seems like we're spending this tariff money over and over and over again,
- 11:17but
- 11:18he says it's going to be.
- 11:21You know,
- 11:22more like,
- 11:22you know,
- 11:22more like standard stimulus checks as opposed to
- 11:26what we saw
- 11:27with the military,
- 11:29which is more targeted at,
- 11:30you know,
- 11:31one group.
- 11:32Again,
- 11:32I'm not a fan of stimulus checks,
- 11:33you probably know that,
- 11:34so I'm not super excited about this,
- 11:37um,
- 11:37you know,
- 11:38I think there is a part of the tariff situation and that is appealing.
- 11:42That if you're going to charge higher taxes on,
- 11:43on goods that you're buying,
- 11:45and that's what a tariff is,
- 11:46it's just an import tax
- 11:47paid for by American importers,
- 11:50um,
- 11:50those people,
- 11:51uh,
- 11:51you know,
- 11:52wind up raising the prices.
- 11:53We have seen some prices raised.
- 11:54They're not,
- 11:55they haven't been.
- 11:56So dramatic that it's upended the economy entirely.
- 11:58I think it's been a drag,
- 12:00but I don't think it's been much more
- 12:01than that.
- 12:02New tariff
- 12:03collection hits $200 billion
- 12:06so this is a pretty large
- 12:08tax increase,
- 12:09and
- 12:11you can say you like them or you don't like them,
- 12:12but my point.
- 12:13Though,
- 12:13is,
- 12:13you know,
- 12:14you're going to take in $200 billion more.
- 12:16What's going to happen?
- 12:17Well,
- 12:17we're still massively in debt,
- 12:18so,
- 12:19uh,
- 12:19you know,
- 12:20giving it,
- 12:20just giving it away
- 12:21is a way to soften the burden,
- 12:23right?
- 12:23If you have,
- 12:24uh,
- 12:24if you're taking
- 12:25a tax
- 12:26increase and you're putting it on where it's going to
- 12:28hit a bunch of people in the middle class.
- 12:31Those people have problems because of that.
- 12:32You throw $2000 their way,
- 12:34they have fewer problems,
- 12:35right?
- 12:35That's the idea with the farmers as well.
- 12:38We just,
- 12:38you know,
- 12:38like we're not selling soybeans to China anymore because of the trade war.
- 12:41Well,
- 12:41we'll just take the tariff money in,
- 12:42we'll throw some of that at the farmers,
- 12:44everything will be fine.
- 12:45Now,
- 12:45look,
- 12:46Not,
- 12:46I would say,
- 12:47standard conservative thought.
- 12:48You might like it a little bit more than I do,
- 12:51but that is the thought of the president,
- 12:54and it is,
- 12:55to be clear,
- 12:55a redistribution of wealth.
- 12:57That's what it is.
- 12:57The money comes,
- 12:58it used to go to one place and now it's going to a new place.
- 13:00That's what this is.
- 13:02You know,
- 13:03you might say under these circumstances it's justifiable.
- 13:05You might say under these circumstances,
- 13:07uh,
- 13:07we have to do it.
- 13:08There's a lot of,
- 13:09uh,
- 13:10various
- 13:11conversations people have with themselves as to why this is an OK policy.
- 13:14I mean,
- 13:15I don't think we would have been OK with it with previous presidents.
- 13:17Uh,
- 13:18but
- 13:18that being said,
- 13:19you know,
- 13:19it's not my favorite.
- 13:20I,
- 13:20I'm not a fan,
- 13:21but that doesn't mean,
- 13:22you know,
- 13:23I,
- 13:23I certainly don't,
- 13:24I don't know,
- 13:24I don't know what the opinion is honestly
- 13:25of conservatives anymore on some of the stuff.
- 13:27You know,
- 13:27some of it is,
- 13:28I think.
- 13:29You just feel a
- 13:32little off with it,
- 13:33you know,
- 13:33but that doesn't mean you oppose it completely.
- 13:36Here is
- 13:38Trump talking about tariffs.
- 13:39Already
- 13:40I've secured a record breaking $18 trillion of investment into the United States,
- 13:46which means jobs,
- 13:47wage increases,
- 13:48growth,
- 13:49factory openings,
- 13:50and far greater national security.
- 13:53Much of this success
- 13:55has been accomplished by
- 13:57tariffs,
- 13:58my favorite word,
- 13:59tariffs,
- 14:00which for many decades have been used successfully by other countries against us,
- 14:05but not anymore.
- 14:07Companies know that if they build in America there are no tariffs,
- 14:11and that's why they're coming home to the USA in record numbers.
- 14:15They're building factories and plants at levels we haven't seen AI
- 14:20automobiles.
- 14:21We're doing
- 14:22what nobody thought was even possible,
- 14:24not even.
- 14:26The interesting part about that is there is some money coming into the country,
- 14:29at least it has been promised to the country.
- 14:30Not much of it is here yet,
- 14:31and some of it does seem a little fantastical,
- 14:34like places like Qatar.
- 14:36You
- 14:37know,
- 14:37promising more than their entire GDP
- 14:40that they're going to invest here in America,
- 14:42probably not going to happen at that scale,
- 14:45but certainly there's a ton of AI money coming in.
- 14:47That's definitely real.
- 14:49We have seen a decline in manufacturing jobs since these tariffs came into
- 14:55place.
- 14:55That doesn't mean that doesn't turn around eventually.
- 14:57It could be that it's more overall weakness
- 15:00that's causing that rather than the tariffs.
- 15:02You know,
- 15:02one of the problems with building factories in America is a lot of
- 15:04the components you use to make for the equipment and in the factories
- 15:09come from overseas.
- 15:10So
- 15:11the actual building of American factories has gotten quite
- 15:13a bit more expensive since all this stuff started,
- 15:16and that might be also a drag
- 15:17on what's going on there.
- 15:19Trump is touting reductions in drug prices,
- 15:20blames Democrats for ACA premium increases.
- 15:23He's 100% right
- 15:25to blame the Democrats on the ACA
- 15:28increases.
- 15:30You know,
- 15:30it's not even questionable.
- 15:31I will say the drug thing that he keeps doing,
- 15:33let me play this for you.
- 15:34This is
- 15:35Trump talking about drug prices.
- 15:37In addition,
- 15:38I'm doing what no politician of either party has ever done
- 15:42standing up to the special interests to
- 15:44dramatically reduce the price of prescription drugs.
- 15:48I negotiated.
- 15:49Directly with the drug companies and foreign nations
- 15:52to which we're taking advantage of our country for many decades
- 15:56to slash prices on drugs and pharmaceuticals by as much as
- 16:00400,
- 16:01500,
- 16:02and even 600%.
- 16:04In other words,
- 16:05your drug costs will be plummeting downward.
- 16:08And I use the threat of tariffs to get,
- 16:11so you get,
- 16:12you get that.
- 16:12And now,
- 16:13of course,
- 16:13everyone's pointing out you can't,
- 16:14you can't slash a price by 500%.
- 16:17That means,
- 16:18that would mean that they're paying you to take it.
- 16:20OK?
- 16:20You'd only go to 100% is the maximum on the decreased side.
- 16:23I don't know what exactly he's going for.
- 16:25He keeps using that phrase over and over and over again,
- 16:27so I'm not exactly sure what he means by it.
- 16:29Um,
- 16:29but obviously that's just not a statistical,
- 16:31uh,
- 16:31possibility.
- 16:33Uh,
- 16:33but I think he is right that he's worked with these,
- 16:35uh,
- 16:35these companies and tried to bring prices down,
- 16:37uh,
- 16:38talking about,
- 16:38you know,
- 16:38the Trump RX thing.
- 16:40He talked about the GLP1 situation,
- 16:42uh,
- 16:42relatively recently,
- 16:43trying to bring those prices down.
- 16:45And some of those prices have come down,
- 16:47which of course is great for a consumer.
- 16:49Um,
- 16:49he's also,
- 16:51he's also,
- 16:51uh,
- 16:51hanging plaques mocking Biden,
- 16:53uh,
- 16:53Obama,
- 16:54uh,
- 16:55as well.
- 16:55Uh,
- 16:56in fact,
- 16:56he's got
- 16:57plaques all over the place,
- 16:59double plaques on some.
- 17:00You can show these pictures if you want.
- 17:01Um.
- 17:03I will say like I read some of the plaques for these presidents,
- 17:06um.
- 17:07I,
- 17:08I laughed at the Joe Biden autopen picture,
- 17:10honestly,
- 17:10when I saw it,
- 17:11I thought it was pretty funny.
- 17:12The plaques are a little bit overexplaining the joke,
- 17:14but it is very Donald Trump,
- 17:16as if I think Donald Trump actually wrote all of them.
- 17:18I would be shocked if Donald Trump did not
- 17:20write every single word of all of these plaques.
- 17:23Uh,
- 17:23it's a very funny situation.
- 17:25I mean,
- 17:25Trump is a funny guy,
- 17:26and I think,
- 17:26uh,
- 17:26you know,
- 17:27he's.
- 17:28He's being a little edgy.
- 17:29He's poking people
- 17:30with,
- 17:30with all of this stuff,
- 17:32but at the end of the day,
- 17:33what you got to look at is the policies.
- 17:35I think there's been,
- 17:36the first year has been
- 17:37filled with,
- 17:38uh,
- 17:38kind of a wide spectrum
- 17:40of,
- 17:40of policy successes and failures,
- 17:42and I think
- 17:43you have to look at this in context to say that
- 17:45there's been a lot of really good things that have happened.
- 17:47I,
- 17:47I don't think it's,
- 17:47uh,
- 17:48I don't think you can deny that.
- 17:50On the other hand,
- 17:50there have been some that I think have gotten in his way.
- 17:52He said his favorite word is tariffs.
- 17:54Of course,
- 17:54that's the one I'd like to bring up as well as my
- 17:57example of a policy I don't think has really worked out for him.
- 17:59The affordability thing,
- 18:01people see tariffs
- 18:02as a price increase.
- 18:04And when they're complaining
- 18:06about,
- 18:07uh,
- 18:07affordability,
- 18:09and you keep telling them the solution to that
- 18:11is a tax increase on imported goods.
- 18:14You know,
- 18:14even if you're right,
- 18:16even if you're 100% right,
- 18:17that long term what will happen here is all these factories will come in here and
- 18:20they'll build all this stuff and we won't
- 18:22have to depend on outside and those prices for
- 18:24whatever reason come down in the United States because
- 18:27of all that,
- 18:28maybe increased competition.
- 18:30Whatever your scenario is in your head,
- 18:33they're all long term scenarios,
- 18:35and a president should be motivated by the long term.
- 18:38When you look at long term politics,
- 18:40what's good for the country,
- 18:42that should be your motivation.
- 18:43On the other side,
- 18:44when you're talking about short-term political interests,
- 18:48uh,
- 18:48you know,
- 18:49I just don't,
- 18:49I don't know that those policies are going to
- 18:51give you the sort of burst you're looking for.
- 18:53As I mentioned,
- 18:53we're down in manufacturing jobs so far.
- 18:56So we will see,
- 18:57uh,
- 18:57if this turns around here in the next,
- 18:59you've probably got about 6 months before people are really
- 19:01forming their opinions on what's going to happen in 2026.
- 19:04And then after that,
- 19:05you've got,
- 19:06uh,
- 19:06a couple more years until probably JD Vance versus somebody,
- 19:09so.
- 19:10It's gonna be an interesting time.
- 19:12We'll talk more about it coming up.
- 19:23There is a quiet confidence in clothing that you
- 19:26don't need to shout to get your attention,
- 19:28you know,
- 19:28like something like,
- 19:30you know,
- 19:30a heavy knit that feels solid in your hands,
- 19:33seams that lie flat and clean,
- 19:35a sweatshirt
- 19:36that settles comfortably,
- 19:37uh,
- 19:37first time you pull it over your head and you know,
- 19:40keeps
- 19:41that.
- 19:42for months and months later,
- 19:43maybe years later.
- 19:44American Giant puts its resources into that kind of construction,
- 19:46slow,
- 19:47careful,
- 19:47and
- 19:48in US factories,
- 19:49staffed by workers
- 19:50who take pride in what leaves their sewing tables.
- 19:53I will say,
- 19:54you know,
- 19:54they,
- 19:54they've been doing this from long before there's tariff talk,
- 19:56right?
- 19:56They,
- 19:56they've just been doing this because they think it's the right thing to do.
- 19:59That's the whole thing.
- 20:00Instead of outsourcing to whoever can make it cheapest,
- 20:04American giant chooses the deliberate path.
- 20:05They use stronger materials,
- 20:07tighter quality control,
- 20:08and a commitment to domestic jobs.
- 20:10It's not nostalgia.
- 20:11It is an honest belief that well built is better.
- 20:15It matters more.
- 20:16Every piece that they make represents a choice investment in durability,
- 20:19in craftsmanship,
- 20:20and in the people and communities
- 20:22behind.
- 20:22The product.
- 20:23When your clothes align with that philosophy,
- 20:25you're not just buying another hoodie,
- 20:27you're buying something that is meant to stay with you wash after wash,
- 20:30year after year.
- 20:32American Giant,
- 20:32go there,
- 20:33American-giant.com.

- 20:38It's American-giant.com.

- 20:43The code
- 20:44is Stew.
- 20:47The Brown University shooter has hampered,
- 20:50uh,
- 20:50the,
- 20:50uh,
- 20:51the manhunt has been hampered by lack of surveillance video.
- 20:53Now it's weird because I've seen a decent amount of surveillance video.
- 20:56In fact,
- 20:56they released more video of someone else they
- 20:59were saying was not a person of interest,
- 21:00but someone who was around a person of interest.
- 21:03I don't know if they were talking or what.
- 21:05Uh,
- 21:05they think they were hanging out,
- 21:06so they think they might have more information on the shooter.
- 21:09So that's going on right now,
- 21:10and they have some decent video of that guy.
- 21:12One thing I can't understand is we have video everywhere,
- 21:14right?
- 21:14There's cameras everywhere.
- 21:15Why don't we have more surveillance video of,
- 21:17of this guy?
- 21:18Why don't they have enough?
- 21:19And if they,
- 21:20when we do have it,
- 21:20why isn't it clear?
- 21:21Why do we,
- 21:22when we zoom in,
- 21:22it's always blurry.
- 21:23It's the same story every single time.
- 21:25The other part about this is if we're going to have a surveillance state,
- 21:28OK,
- 21:29I don't like the idea of a surveillance state,
- 21:31but if we're going to have one,
- 21:32shouldn't we be solving all these murders?
- 21:35Uh,
- 21:35quickly,
- 21:36that's like that's supposed to be the upside of the surveillance state,
- 21:39right?
- 21:40You get to actually solve the crimes.
- 21:42Seemingly the exact opposite is happening in our country right now.
- 21:44I want to show you this chart.
- 21:45It's one of the most shocking charts that I've seen in a long time.
- 21:48America's declining homicide clearance rates.
- 21:51If you look back in the 1960s,
- 21:55we're solving about 90% of the murders out there.
- 21:57That has dropped dramatically.
- 21:59In fact,
- 21:59it bottomed out in 2020,
- 22:01uh,
- 22:02at just over half.
- 22:03Now it's ticked up a little bit since to about 60%,
- 22:06so,
- 22:06uh,
- 22:06that's a good bounce back.
- 22:08But it feels like we should be solving all the murders or really close to it.
- 22:11Now I know this would affect everybody's true crime programming.
- 22:14We wouldn't have as many cold cases to solve,
- 22:16and that would be a negative.
- 22:17You need more documentaries on Netflix,
- 22:18there's no doubt about it.
- 22:20But outside of that,
- 22:20this seems like a really bad development.
- 22:22Uh,
- 22:22so it's very strange too,
- 22:24I would think for sure.
- 22:26You would at least have,
- 22:27if not even,
- 22:28I would say an increase in the percentage of homicide cases we're clearing.
- 22:32Now,
- 22:32sometimes there's just technical weirdness in this data.
- 22:34There's different things that explain some of that drop for sure,
- 22:37but not all of it,
- 22:38and it's a very strange development as we go forward.
- 22:40OK,
- 22:41Speaking of very strange developments,
- 22:42did you know that Kamala Harris once ran for president of the United States?
- 22:45In fact,
- 22:45she did it twice.
- 22:46What if I could sell you on a 3rd time though.
- 22:48Uh,
- 22:48she is definitely flirting with that.
- 22:50She's talking about it on a bunch of shows and she's out there now,
- 22:53now she's figured out a way to talk
- 22:54negatively about Democrats after the race is over.
- 22:56She says Democrats are very,
- 22:57very much stuck in the past.
- 22:59We're not speaking in the way that sounds authentic or relatable or just relevant,
- 23:03says a person who has never in her
- 23:05life said anything authentic or relatable or relevant.
- 23:07Uh,
- 23:08she says,
- 23:08we have to speak to this moment.
- 23:11And more just
- 23:12gibberish and word salad to explain that,
- 23:15but
- 23:15should you be surprised by that at this point?
- 23:17Now,
- 23:18the Democrats,
- 23:18they did this big review,
- 23:20um,
- 23:21of what they wanted to do.
- 23:22They had this big review that came out,
- 23:24uh,
- 23:24the 2024 election review,
- 23:26it was talked about widely.
- 23:27We never actually saw it,
- 23:28and now they're saying
- 23:29we never will.
- 23:31Democrats keep 2024 election review under wraps,
- 23:33saying a public rehash won't help them win in 2026.
- 23:37And I will say,
- 23:38Not the worst idea I've ever heard.
- 23:39I,
- 23:40I think people realizing how bad they are and focusing on that
- 23:44might hurt them in 2026.
- 23:46The best thing they can do in 2026 is say,
- 23:48which they surely will,
- 23:50uh,
- 23:50uh,
- 23:51Trump is bad and evil and Hitler and whatever.
- 23:54Like that's what they're gonna do.
- 23:55They're,
- 23:55they're gonna try to make this another Trump election
- 23:57without
- 23:58Trump being on the ballot.
- 23:59And we have seen success with that tactic.
- 24:01I mean 2018
- 24:02is a good example of it.
- 24:03In 2018.
- 24:04That was kind of their pitch.
- 24:05Trump is bad,
- 24:06he's evil,
- 24:06he's Hitler.
- 24:07But Trump wasn't actually on the ballot to get people to come out to the polls,
- 24:11and what happened in that election
- 24:12was a pretty big wave
- 24:14for the Democrats.
- 24:15That's what they're counting on again.
- 24:16Can they get there?
- 24:17It's gonna be tough.
- 24:18Uh,
- 24:18it's not impossible,
- 24:19of course,
- 24:19we'll be going over that stuff in the new year,
- 24:21uh,
- 24:21in much more detail,
- 24:23uh,
- 24:23but the House is very much at risk.
- 24:24I mean,
- 24:25it would be,
- 24:25it would be
- 24:26at this point to me.
- 24:28I'm trying to think,
- 24:30is a,
- 24:30is a shock
- 24:31the right term?
- 24:32I,
- 24:32I think
- 24:33so.
- 24:33I it's not,
- 24:34it wouldn't be the most stunning thing in the history of politics.
- 24:37It wouldn't be nearly as stunning as even Donald Trump winning in 2016.
- 24:40Um,
- 24:40but,
- 24:42I would say it would be pretty surprising if Republicans
- 24:45can overwhelm that historical deficit that they're at with their
- 24:50With their,
- 24:51uh,
- 24:51you know,
- 24:51um,
- 24:52first midterm and a new presidency,
- 24:54very,
- 24:54very standard to lose that election.
- 24:56And then on top of that,
- 24:57it's very,
- 24:57it's,
- 24:57you know,
- 24:57it could be worse.
- 24:58Now,
- 24:59if you think of things that could be worse,
- 25:01and you think of a way,
- 25:01what's the path for the Republicans to actually do a good job and somehow win
- 25:05in 2026,
- 25:07this might give you a little bit of hope.
- 25:08Congressional Democrats' approval rating,
- 25:10the lowest since 2009.
- 25:11How low?
- 25:13Just 18%.
- 25:16Of respondents approve of the job.
- 25:18Congressional Democrats are doing 73% disapprove,
- 25:23so that is not,
- 25:24not solid,
- 25:25I will say.
- 25:26When you talk about approval ratings,
- 25:27maybe the highest approval rating of all time,
- 25:29you're just about to run into that because
- 25:30we're talking about the holiday classic film,
- 25:33The Christmas Twist.
- 25:34We play it once a year.
- 25:35It's a movie starring myself,
- 25:36Glenn Beck,
- 25:37Pat Gray,
- 25:37all your my wife,
- 25:38all your favorites.
- 25:39Uh,
- 25:39it's the Christmas twist,
- 25:41and,
- 25:41uh,
- 25:41be sure to stick around after that.
- 25:42I have a few things I want to say about the coming
- 25:44year and some exciting things to expect from myself and my team.
- 25:46There's a lot of cool stuff coming up,
- 25:48but maybe nothing cooler
- 25:49than the Christmas twist,
- 25:50that's next.
- 25:58A good night uh doesn't fix everything,
- 26:02but it does fix a lot.
- 26:03When you sleep deeply,
- 26:04you think more clearly,
- 26:06you handle stress better,
- 26:07and you move throughout the day without feeling
- 26:09like you're dragging an anchor behind you.
- 26:11BA created Dream powder to support that kind of rest,
- 26:14a warm

- 28:56And Noel

- 29:02Dad,
- 29:03that's the biggest diamond I've ever seen.
- 29:07Of course it is
- 29:08from the richest boyfriend you've ever had.
- 29:11What do you say
- 29:13to a lifetime with Thad?
- 29:17Well,
- 29:17I guess so.
- 29:19Did you hear that world?
- 29:20She said,

- 29:39Did you finish decorating at least?
- 29:41I sure did.
- 29:42I hung up so much tinsel
- 29:43that now I've got
- 29:44tinsels instead of tonsils.
- 29:50Guys,
- 29:52are you watching TV?
- 29:54OK,
- 29:54just because I was driving here
- 29:56and I was then parking and then walking in doesn't mean
- 29:58that I didn't understand that news was about to break.
- 30:01Quick,
- 30:01turn it on.
- 30:03And in case you just happen to turn your television set on,
- 30:07there is
- 30:09breaking news.
- 30:10In an attempt to
- 30:11go ahead with the new handgun cigarette pork grind factory,
- 30:15the mayor has officially made public an offer to buy the lone holdout
- 30:21local cookie store,
- 30:22The Christmas Twist.
- 30:25The mayor
- 30:26announced his offer for the 600 square foot cookie store.
- 30:32$11 million
- 30:37but
- 30:37he did place
- 30:38one condition
- 30:40store owner Noel Anderson
- 30:42only has 24 hours
- 30:46to decide.
- 30:48It's now safe to turn your television off again.
- 30:51In other news,
- 30:52my kitty cat Noodles is still missing.
- 30:57$11 million for this dump.
- 30:59You bought it for $1,800,000.
- 31:00I know,
- 31:01but how can you put a price tag on Christmas?
- 31:04Um,
- 31:04you're not selling Christmas.
- 31:05You're selling a
- 31:06meaningless collection of bricks and asbestos walls covered in toxic lead tinsel.
- 31:10Thad,
- 31:11how can you say Christmas is meaningless?
- 31:14I,
- 31:14I didn't say that.
- 31:15Just listen to me.
- 31:17Maybe if you just ran a cookie store,
- 31:18or you ran a Christmas cookie store,
- 31:20or you just ran a
- 31:22butter cookie store,
- 31:23but you only sell the pretzel-shaped butter cookies.
- 31:26Uh,
- 31:27Nobody likes the pretzel shaped butter cookies.
- 31:29Oh,
- 31:30really?
- 31:31Then why did I sell 3
- 31:33to customers this year?
- 31:35Well,
- 31:352 of them were me,
- 31:36and the other one was a guy hiding from an Amber Alert.
- 31:39This is the worst business model of all time.
- 31:42It's not a business model.
- 31:45It's my dream.
- 31:47I am far too businessy for this.
- 31:49You have 24 business hours to decide.
- 31:58It's OK,
- 31:58Noel.
- 31:59It's OK.
- 32:00You know,
- 32:02my grandpapa used to say,
- 32:03if it's all about the money,
- 32:05then it's all about nothing.
- 32:07Of course,
- 32:08when he said that he was talking about $1.38.
- 32:11This is $11 million.
- 32:14That's like
- 32:15John Kerry wife money,
- 32:16right?
- 32:17What's wrong with you?
- 32:19Well,
- 32:20it all started one night when I was
- 32:22looking at the Christmas lights.
- 32:25And I ran over a homeless person.
- 32:29Wait,
- 32:30You ran over what?
- 32:39Don't worry,
- 32:40you're gonna be OK.
- 32:42Well,
- 32:43You've crushed every bone in my body.
- 32:47My pancreas is still in your wheel well.
- 32:50I'm
- 32:51pretty sure I'm not gonna be OK.
- 32:54Oh,
- 32:54homeless vagrant,
- 32:55what can I do to make your pancreasless Christmas
- 32:59spirit live on?
- 33:00There's only one thing.
- 33:03You know,
- 33:04other than calling 911.
- 33:08I really always wanted to open up a
- 33:11Christmas cookie store.
- 33:13I can do that.
- 33:14I'm an amazing baker.
- 33:16I can make snickerdoodle,
- 33:17chocolate chip,
- 33:18molasses,
- 33:19the store.
- 33:21Can only sell those.
- 33:23Pretzel butter cookies.
- 33:26The ones that nobody likes.
- 33:29That's the worst business model
- 33:32I've ever heard,
- 33:33like in the history of mankind.
- 33:35No,
- 33:36no,
- 33:36it's,
- 33:37it's not a business model.
- 33:40It's.
- 33:42It's
- 33:443
- 33:52So
- 33:53you killed a homeless person,
- 33:55huh?
- 33:56Well,
- 33:56I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles,
- 33:58huh?
- 34:03They good?
- 34:08I.
- 34:16Hey,
- 34:18oh,
- 34:19I hear you got a crapper to be plunged.
- 34:21Yes,
- 34:22I stopped up the crapper.
- 34:23I've just been so stressed with my store closing
- 34:26that last night I binged on fig pudding.
- 34:28Oh,
- 34:28that'll stop up a crapper.
- 34:30All right.
- 34:31I love fig pudding
- 34:33and the crapper.
- 34:35Really,
- 34:35we have so much in common.
- 34:38I love fig pudding
- 34:39and I clogged up my crapper last night too.
- 35:05Oh,
- 35:05and I suppose we're all supposed to believe that my cat Noodles
- 35:09ends up dead
- 35:11the same weekend George Soros just happens to be in town.
- 35:17And in other news,
- 35:18we finally find out the future of our new
- 35:21handgun,
- 35:21cigarette,
- 35:22and pork rind factory
- 35:24in just 12 hours,
- 35:2612 hours from now.
- 35:28Mark
- 35:29your calendar.
- 35:30Noelle Anderson will make her big decision.
- 35:33Still no word on why the mayor decided to make the deadline a national holiday
- 35:39or
- 35:39why the mayor would
- 35:41present the offer on the TV,
- 35:43honey.
- 35:45Did you make your decision yet?
- 35:48Look,
- 35:49I understand that this story is your dream,
- 35:52your heart,
- 35:52your soul,
- 35:54your deal that you made as you committed what a
- 35:56jury would likely consider manslaughter and killing a homeless man,
- 35:59hallucinating about cookies.
- 36:01But it's $11 million.
- 36:02Don't be an idiot.
- 36:04How can you talk about
- 36:05dollars and manslaughter at a time like this?
- 36:08We can't sell the store.
- 36:09Where would all my pretzel cookies go?
- 36:12Uh,
- 36:12they're not alive.
- 36:13It's,
- 36:13it's not materially where they would go.
- 36:15Where will people buy their pretzel cookies for Santa?
- 36:17Santa loves these cookies.
- 36:18Noel,
- 36:19Santa wants chocolate chip cookies.
- 36:24Yeah.
- 36:25You take that back.
- 36:27Take it back.
- 36:28Well.
- 36:30You wanna think about your pretzel cookies?
- 36:34It's not about the money.
- 36:37It's about how dumb you are.
- 36:40I mean it's,
- 36:40it's a little bit about the money,
- 36:41but it's mostly about how dumb you are.
- 36:43I can't
- 36:44marry someone
- 36:45this dumb.
- 36:47Unless it's a Kardashian,
- 36:49maybe,
- 36:49I
- 36:50look,
- 36:50sell the store
- 36:51or I'm calling the engagement off.
- 36:53You now have
- 36:5412 business hours to decide.
- 37:05Ho ho ho's here.
- 37:07It's Uncle Billy.
- 37:09Oh no,
- 37:10what's wrong,
- 37:10Noel?
- 37:12I might lose my store.
- 37:14My businessman fiance gave me an ultimatum and I think I'm in love.
- 37:19With a common laborer.
- 37:21Oh
- 37:21boy,
- 37:22who looks suspiciously like the homeless man that I ran over,
- 37:26except he's wearing glasses
- 37:28and I'm so torn.
- 37:31Well,
- 37:32you know,
- 37:33Noel,
- 37:34my grandpappy
- 37:35was once faced with a Christmas choice,
- 37:38a choice
- 37:39just like yours.
- 37:40Should he marry his male lover
- 37:42or a
- 37:44Really fat homeless man plumber he met when he stopped up the crapper.
- 37:48Well,
- 37:49who did,
- 37:50who did he choose?
- 37:50Uh,
- 37:51neither.
- 37:51He was
- 37:52hit by a blonde woman in an SUV and left to die on the road with no explanation,
- 37:56but
- 37:57that's the moral of Christmas time,
- 37:59right?
- 37:59So what you're,
- 38:00what you're saying is that I should marry my mean fiance?
- 38:03No,
- 38:03stupid.
- 38:04Oh,
- 38:05you're so stupid.
- 38:06How can you be this dumb?
- 38:08I mean,
- 38:08that's stupid.
- 38:10So then what you're saying is that I should.
- 38:13Choose the plumber.
- 38:15Yes,
- 38:16wow,
- 38:16jeez,
- 38:16I'm really starting to see where your fiance is coming from.
- 38:19You are stupid.
- 38:22Stupid
- 38:24You're really dumb.
- 38:26OK,
- 38:26well,
- 38:26I hope I have enough time to go stop up the toilet again,
- 38:29right?
- 38:30Well,
- 38:30I mean,
- 38:31you are stupid.
- 38:33Can you do it?
- 38:34I don't know,
- 38:36stupid.
- 38:37I mean.
- 38:40Oh,
- 38:40should I marry my mean fiance?
- 38:42Yeah,
- 38:42dummy,
- 38:43go ahead.
- 38:49So did you make a decision?
- 38:50I have a businessman meeting to go to in the business world.
- 38:54Yes,
- 38:54I did.
- 38:55I,
- 38:55I did make a decision.
- 38:56I choose
- 38:58the Christmas spirit,
- 39:00and I choose this plumber
- 39:02with potentially no future.
- 39:04He's homeless,
- 39:05but I just met him,
- 39:06and he believes in me
- 39:08and he believes in my store.
- 39:09Uh,
- 39:10good luck with that.
- 39:11Good luck with your stupid store with the
- 39:12pretzel cookies and this pointless plumber idiot.
- 39:15It's all of it's,
- 39:16it's a big pipe dream.
- 39:19You know,
- 39:19because
- 39:20Because the pipes,
- 39:22he happens to work with pipes and then that's his,
- 39:24his chosen profession.
- 39:26It's a pipe pipe dream.
- 39:28I think it worked.
- 39:28I don't understand why you didn't.
- 39:30Now,
- 39:32let's go fix that crapper
- 39:34together.
- 39:41You know,
- 39:43Before I get started fixing your crapper,
- 39:45I just wanna say this.
- 39:47I might not be a businessman like your businessman boyfriend.
- 39:52I might not have the intelligence,
- 39:54the pleasant odor,
- 39:55or
- 39:56the lack of mouth sores.
- 39:58I can't even afford a big fancy ring.
- 40:02But I can't afford this.
- 40:09Wait,
- 40:09did you just find that on the floor?
- 40:11Well,
- 40:12yes,
- 40:13but
- 40:14that doesn't change the question.
- 40:16Will you marry me?
- 40:23I can't,
- 40:23I can't,
- 40:24I can't,
- 40:24I can't do this.
- 40:25I can't do this.
