- 0:31Amen. Amen.
- 0:32Would you take your Bibles open? Then to Genesis chapter 10,
- 0:35Genesis chapter 10 and I've entitled our Bible study today.
- 0:40God's heart is for all the nations God's heart is for all
- 0:47the nations. The first 11 chapters of Genesis
- 0:51are very important. They're filled with foundations
- 0:54and Essentials and understanding the blue, the flow of biblical
- 0:58theology throughout the rest of the In the first eleven
- 1:02chapters, there are many firsts by creation man-woman marriage,
- 1:08the Sabbath, rest, labor, Rebellion sin.
- 1:12In Murder. Remember we received the first
- 1:15Insight in preview of The Gospel message.
- 1:18In, Genesis 3, verse 15, then we had that Hidden Gem of the
- 1:23Gospel in chapter 5. And now we come to a new chapter
- 1:27chapter 10 and amazingly accurate.
- 1:30Historical document, that's often referred to as the table
- 1:35of Nations. The table of Nations.
- 1:38It says in chapter 10 verse 1 and now this is the genealogy of
- 1:42the sons of Noah Shem ham and japheth and Sons were born to
- 1:47them after the flood. The floods over and it's time to
- 1:52repopulate the Earth Noah has died at the ripe old age of nine
- 1:57hundred and fifty years old and his three sons.
- 2:01Ham Shem and japheth begin to reproduce upon the earth.
- 2:04I mean, chapter 10 is a really an astounding chapter.
- 2:07It's a brief history of most ethnic backgrounds known to man.
- 2:12Today, we learn of all Nations and people they come from One
- 2:16Source a common ancestor, Noah even coming back from NOAA to
- 2:22Adam and Eve, there's a Unity of humanity.
- 2:25That's a fact. It may not look like that.
- 2:28Today, there's such division, even as We were praying today
- 2:31such Division and animosity, but in God's perspective, there's a
- 2:36beautiful Unity of humanity. There's a common link of
- 2:40Brotherhood that binds the human race together.
- 2:45Now in chapter 10 there, 70 families are nations that are
- 2:48named and from here, the number 70 becomes the number of
- 2:54nations, it will often reflect in the scriptures, the numbers
- 2:58of Nations or representative Of the whole world.
- 3:02You're in, Genesis 10, go to Genesis 46.
- 3:05Because the rabbi's often will relate this passage.
- 3:09Or the number 72, Genesis 46. Notice with me, I'll read it to
- 3:13you in Genesis forty six and verse 26.
- 3:18It says all the persons who went with Jacob to Egypt, who came
- 3:21from his body besides Jacob's sons, wives were 66 persons and
- 3:26all, and the sons of Joseph were born to him in.
- 3:29Egypt were Two persons, and all the persons at the house of
- 3:33Jacob who went to Egypt were 70 and why is that significant?
- 3:39Well because God called Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and bless them
- 3:45and it was God's goal through Abraham to bless the world
- 3:49through Abraham's seed. All the world would be blessed.
- 3:53Because right here in the beginning, once again were
- 3:56remember it? We're reminded that God wants to
- 3:58reach the nation's that God. A vision for the world and I
- 4:02want you to see how this connects into the New Covenant.
- 4:05It's really neat thing to see as you consider the ministry of
- 4:09Jesus. I want you to change your
- 4:10thinking a minute. I don't want you to consider the
- 4:14ministry that is happening in the life of Jesus.
- 4:18You have Jesus, as he is the Fulfillment of God's blessing to
- 4:23the nation's, he is the Fulfillment.
- 4:25God has kept his promise and bringing a blessing to the world
- 4:29through the sea. Feed his shed, blood his death
- 4:33and Resurrection. So, what is Jesus?
- 4:35Doing his ministry? He calls together, Twelve
- 4:38Apostles. And that's how he begins.
- 4:41He sends them out there used to heal their used greatly.
- 4:45They come back with great testimonies and the number 12,
- 4:50many times in the scriptures represents the nation of Israel
- 4:53or the 12 tribes of Israel. And so, what does Jesus do?
- 4:58He first gathers 12? Representative of the 12 tribes
- 5:02of Israel. And remember, the Bible says,
- 5:06that Jesus came to the Jew first.
- 5:10And that's the gospel, the gospel comes to the Jew.
- 5:12First, now turn to Luke chapter 10, this is fascinating, you
- 5:16know, Mel if you've ever connected from the table of
- 5:19Nations, God's heart for the world and the ministry of Jesus
- 5:22will go to Luke chapter 10, will get to Genesis 10 in a moment.
- 5:25I want to give some Preparatory things as we land in to chapter
- 5:3010, when you get there just pick up in verse 1, Luke chapter 10
- 5:36It says. After these things, the Lord
- 5:40appointed, 70, 70, 70 others also and sent them to be by to
- 5:47before his face into every city and place where he himself was
- 5:51about to go. And what does he say to the 70,
- 5:5570 representing the whole world, the nations of the world, he
- 5:59says the Harvest, truly is great, but the laborers are few.
- 6:04Therefore pray, the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers
- 6:08into his Harvest. Go your way, behold, I send you
- 6:11out as Lambs among the wolves. Now, when you read that know
- 6:17that the number 70 was not some haphazard random number that
- 6:20Jesus just picked. He picked it on purpose.
- 6:24What I believe Jesus in the ministry of Jesus is saying to
- 6:27us that starting with 12, he went to Israel and to the Jew
- 6:30first. But now he's sending out 70 in
- 6:33his ministry because the day is come and the message will go far
- 6:38beyond the borders of the We land to reach Every Nation.
- 6:41Every people, every Kindred, every tribe.
- 6:45And we fast forward to the book of Acts and instruction to the
- 6:49book of Acts as that they were what to wait in Jerusalem until
- 6:53the Holy Spirit came upon them until they experience the
- 6:55baptism of the Holy Spirit and something would happen to this
- 6:59small little group that were waiting in Jerusalem, they would
- 7:03receive the power of the Holy Spirit upon them.
- 7:06And the immediate result is that they would become Some
- 7:09witnesses. And where would they become
- 7:11Witnesses Jerusalem? Judea Samaria, which is kind of
- 7:17taking it a little bit farther and then taking it outside of
- 7:21the Jewish people. And then what was the final
- 7:22instruction to the whole world? And here we have a reminder of
- 7:28God's heart for the whole world. Would you never forget that it
- 7:33doesn't matter what they're saying in the news?
- 7:35It doesn't matter what political view has the popularity to
- 7:39somehow caused you to think of a people, group, to think of an
- 7:43immigration status to think of something other than God's heart
- 7:47for the world. So, that now, in some way, you
- 7:52no longer love the world, You may not even here we're sitting
- 7:56in a in a Suburban type Church thinking about the blessings of
- 8:00God, in the faithfulness of God and we want to worship him and
- 8:03it would be really hard. It really requires a lot of
- 8:06humility to look in the mirror and say you know what, I don't
- 8:09think I love the whole world. I think I'll of a portion of the
- 8:13world. I think there are people in the
- 8:15world that I don't love and it would be hard to admit it, but
- 8:18until you admit it he won't open a channel for the Holy Spirit to
- 8:22give you an agape. Love for the World, and I'm not
- 8:26just some generic, it's easy when we think of the world, we
- 8:28think of the globe and just a bunch of faceless people that
- 8:31will never meet in our lives. But you know, it's fascinating
- 8:35for us being the Melting Pot being known as a nation as a
- 8:38Melting Pot, that God brings the world to us.
- 8:41Even if you never have the privilege of traveling anywhere,
- 8:44we live among the world every tribe, every tongue and every
- 8:48nation. And without a true love of God,
- 8:52let me put it this way, let me turn Turn it around and let's
- 8:55just make it. Let's bring it down.
- 8:56Simply let's just be just very matter-of-fact in the days in
- 9:01which we live. We're going to pray for Unity in
- 9:03the church and we're going to pray for a Great Awakening and
- 9:06we're going to pray that God might use us on our own personal
- 9:08walk. Then we have to deal with this
- 9:10issue of the sin of prejudice. It is not from God.
- 9:16It is not from God to be a prejudiced person.
- 9:21And from that word, we have the understanding of the definition
- 9:24to prejudge. Someone.
- 9:27This is something we're all guilty of some more than others.
- 9:31Prejudice is not from God, the sin of prejudging someone based
- 9:35on their skin color braced on the language that they speak
- 9:40based on their immigration status based on where they live,
- 9:43what part of town they're from, it's just not from the law.
- 9:48It seems as if a pastor shouldn't have to say that in
- 9:50this modern day, but it's important that we remind
- 9:53ourselves from the voice of God himself that his heart is for
- 9:57the world that's God's heart. And if we're going to be a part
- 10:01of what he's doing in the Earth today than we need to cultivate
- 10:04a love for the world. We need to confess our sin of
- 10:08prejudice wherever it comes up deal with death, blow to that
- 10:12part of our flesh. So that we might walk in the
- 10:16spirit. I mean, if you really want to
- 10:18see God, use you greatly personally then don't fall or
- 10:23participate in the temptation of prejudice.
- 10:26And another way of looking at in the scripture is showing
- 10:28partiality, James and James letter talks about the sin of
- 10:33partiality, I think in the Old King James, he talked about the
- 10:37respecter of persons and he uses the example of the rich and the
- 10:40poor. He says look, and I was just
- 10:42summarize what James says, is it look?
- 10:44Don't give preference to the rich and make the poor sit on
- 10:46the floor. You treat them the same you
- 10:50don't give any extra added benefit to the rich.
- 10:53You don't look down on the poor. They are both created in the
- 10:56image of God. And you don't show prejudice.
- 11:01There's not much that puts a person on the wrong side of God,
- 11:05faster than prejudice. Jesus came to the Earth to save
- 11:10all those who would repent of their sins and turn to him.
- 11:13He didn't come just to save a certain few, a certain segment
- 11:16of the world. He came to the Jew first but
- 11:19also to the Greek, he came to fulfill all righteousness for
- 11:24the Jew first. And also for the Greek, he
- 11:27didn't come to save a certain race of the world and write off,
- 11:30Heather races or ethnicities. He didn't come just to save a
- 11:34certain subgroup Jesus loves all Jesus was not and is not a
- 11:40prejudiced man, although the world that he entered definitely
- 11:45is and definitely was and still is even Among Us.
- 11:52Jesus example, for us to serve everyone equally regardless of
- 11:55the color of thus, again, language, they speak how they
- 11:58look, how they smell, where they live, how much money they have,
- 12:02and don't have whatever it might be.
- 12:04People are people and they're worthy of our time.
- 12:08Our intention The love of God that's in US.
- 12:12Be careful church not to label someone.
- 12:15What happens in labeling people is very simple.
- 12:18We learn this from Pastor miles McPherson in his book, the third
- 12:22option. The command from God is to love
- 12:24the Lord God, with all your heart, soul and mind, and love
- 12:28your neighbor as yourself. And here's what we do, we have
- 12:31different labels, that will use to slap on somebody that we
- 12:36don't agree with. We don't like, we might be
- 12:37prejudiced toward so that instead of now seeing them, as a
- 12:41neighbor, we see them as our label.
- 12:44And whether it's direct or indirect, whether it's known, or
- 12:47unknown, whether it's conscious or subconscious, it's
- 12:50irrelevant. The end result is the same.
- 12:53If we label someone and identify him by that label, then somehow
- 12:58we excuse ourselves from giving love because we don't see them
- 13:02as our neighbor and our culture doesn't you know, culture does a
- 13:07good job of supporting this changing, the are thinking
- 13:11whatever the new popular narrative is of the day.
- 13:16And Jesus reminded Us in Mark, chapter 12.
- 13:19That first of all, the Commandment is to hear o Israel.
- 13:22The Lord our God is one and you shall love the Lord God with all
- 13:26your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with
- 13:29all your strength, that's the first commandment he said.
- 13:32And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as
- 13:35yourself and there's no other commandment greater than these.
- 13:39What were you doing tonight? We were praying about Unity.
- 13:42And as my friend Tony Clark pastor and Newport News.
- 13:45Woof and say he will often reflect from his perspective.
- 13:49As a black Pastor serving in a predominantly black congregation
- 13:52in Virginia. He'll say the most segregated
- 13:56day in the country is Sunday morning and God's desire is for
- 14:00us to be in Unity Church to have a true heart for all people.
- 14:05And to really, just be honest It isn't something that you answer
- 14:09to us as a leadership team. It isn't something that you need
- 14:12to openly demonstrate in some way that you're not like that.
- 14:15And I mean, when we start talking about Prejudice almost
- 14:18immediately, there's a defensiveness.
- 14:21So not me, not me. I could never be that way.
- 14:24And that may or may not be true. I don't know, I don't walk in
- 14:27your shoes but I walk in my shoes and whatever Prejudice.
- 14:31I have toward whatever situation that comes up.
- 14:34I don't want it in my life. I don't want my Ministry.
- 14:37Limited. I don't want to learn how to
- 14:40just conveniently label people that I don't want to deal with,
- 14:43or I don't want to serve or I don't want to go out of my way
- 14:46to die to myself. It just stifles the work of the
- 14:49Holy Spirit. It Grieves, the Holy Spirit,
- 14:53whether you were raised that way, whether you were taught
- 14:55that whether you learned it, whether it's just something you
- 14:58picked up along the way. It is a sin to be repented from
- 15:02and forsaken. Why?
- 15:04Because we come back to Genesis 10 and Right out of the gate, we
- 15:08understand God's hardest for the world and I think if we kind of
- 15:12turn it up, turn around a little bit and just like, I am so
- 15:15thankful that God's heart is for the world.
- 15:18Because I'm part of the world that God's love came to me.
- 15:22In my worst, where I was born, where I was raised, you know, so
- 15:26many parts of our Lives, we don't even get to choose.
- 15:29It's just our life. Where we what family were born
- 15:32into what our DNA is it? Just?
- 15:34This is what we were given by the will of God And it's in
- 15:37Christ. These barriers have been broken.
- 15:42And the in chapter 10. Now coming down to our study
- 15:45today. With all that in mind, I know
- 15:47that genealogies are very easy to skip and you start out the
- 15:51year especially in Genesis I'm going to read the Bible in a
- 15:54year and be like yeah read the Bible in the year chapter one.
- 15:57Great chapter 2. Great 3 4, 5 6, 7 10, I don't
- 16:02think so, it's just a bunch of names, 70mm 70 different names
- 16:07and, you know, genealogies. They take a little extra time.
- 16:10I mean you if you really To study a genealogy and spend some
- 16:13time on it. Just get a good Bible
- 16:15dictionary. You get a good Bible dictionary.
- 16:18You can look up every name. That's really how you learn.
- 16:21Who is this person? What does this person have?
- 16:23Is there any significance? Sometimes, there's great
- 16:25significance. Sometimes not so much, but can I
- 16:28just remind you that if we told you that in the Bible, there's a
- 16:33whole list of genealogies from people that went to church at
- 16:36Calvary and your name was in it. Don't you think you'd look for
- 16:39that genealogy? You're like the most your name
- 16:42will be in there. Here I am, honey, I'm in the
- 16:44Bible and so these people are just as significant as you are.
- 16:48However, they're even in a greater ways.
- 16:50They play out God's heart for the world and and I can't
- 16:55emphasize this enough. It's just from the holy spirit
- 16:58for this moment in time from the very beginning, God's heart and
- 17:02intention is a love for the whole world.
- 17:06Do you guys get that yet? It's very important.
- 17:09It will accentuate. And accelerate, Your usefulness
- 17:13in the hands of God, if you will grasp that believe it and live
- 17:16it in your life you have to go through your own pains.
- 17:19Right you have to really deal with how you've been treated.
- 17:23You might be on the other side of prejudice people have been
- 17:26prejudiced towards you. Taking advantage of you hurting
- 17:29you deeply and so what's the response?
- 17:31Forgiveness. Releasing Sequoia.
- 17:35Pastor I understand Prejudice. I've been treated that way my
- 17:38whole life and for that, I'm sorry.
- 17:40I wish you wouldn't treat you that way.
- 17:42I wish that it would have been an easier Road for you.
- 17:46And even so nothing is wasted by God.
- 17:50It is developing in you a care and concern for the
- 17:53marginalized. It's developing a new of love
- 17:56for people that are being made fun of or bullied, or judge
- 18:00because of the color of their skin, or their language, or
- 18:03their status may be growing up in a single home, or you're an
- 18:06orphan or you grew up in foster care, all the different pains
- 18:09and difficulties that separate us.
- 18:11It's the love of God that unites us.
- 18:14Always and forever. There are no second-class
- 18:17citizens in the Kingdom of Heaven.
- 18:20And as we live in incredible times, were God, you know, if
- 18:23you think about the day in which this age of Gentiles is age of
- 18:26Grace until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, if you
- 18:29consider this we're living in an age where God is taking Jew and
- 18:33Gentile and grafting them together.
- 18:36That's the church age we're seeing God bring together
- 18:41diverse groups of people in Christ.
- 18:45And yes, there is a divine order.
- 18:47We learned that God has chosen the Jewish people, it's his
- 18:50Divine prerogative, but through that choice, salvation comes to
- 18:54the world. So let's look at some of the
- 18:55names now, and jump in to chapter 2.
- 18:59If you want to take notes, you can jot them down in your Bible
- 19:02or you can look up if you don't have a Bible dictionary, a free
- 19:05Bible dictionary online can be found at Blue Letter.
- 19:08Bible dot o-- r-- g-- very robust and free website with a
- 19:14lot of Bible study. Versus you don't have to spend a
- 19:16lot of money on a library. You can get it right there.
- 19:19Blue Letter Bible dot-org. Verse to the sons of japheth
- 19:24were Gomer, Magog may die Javan tubal meshech and tiras, the
- 19:32sons of Gomer were Ashkenazi Reef off and talk more on the
- 19:37sons of Javen were L. Le choix tarshish.
- 19:40Kit, Amanda Denim, and from these, the coastlines people of
- 19:44the Gentiles, They were separated into their lands
- 19:47everyone. According to his own language
- 19:49according to their families into their Nations.
- 19:53Japheth japheth is the descendants of japheth are
- 19:58primarily the Indo-European people.
- 20:02And so, this lineage begins with J path was the oldest son and
- 20:07the area, they inhabited is the farthest removed from the
- 20:11Palestinian region. Remember in chapter 9 and verse
- 20:1527 if you want to look back Noah blessed JPS line lineage to be
- 20:21enlarged there in verse 27, he says may God enlarge japheth and
- 20:26may He dwell in the tents of Shem and may Canaan be his
- 20:29servant and these are the sons Gomer.
- 20:33Now if these are the Germanic peoples from which most of the
- 20:36original peoples of Western Europe, come the original French
- 20:40Spanish and Celtic settlers. And three of japheth sons may
- 20:45God to ball and meshech then verse 2.
- 20:48They settled as far as north of Europe and they become the
- 20:51Russian people's from may die in verse to come, the ancient needs
- 20:56and those who populated Modern Day Iran and Iraq.
- 21:01In. Verse 2, Javen gave birth to the
- 21:04ancient Greeks who are now described in detail in Verses, 4
- 21:08and 5 and verse 3, the sons of Gomer were Ashkenazi Which are
- 21:14the modern-day Germans and they subtle north of Judea in the
- 21:18Fertile Crescent area. If you come to Israel with us,
- 21:22one of the ways you can tell the distinction of the Jews that
- 21:24have come back from all throughout Europe, is the way
- 21:27that they dress and the hats that they wear.
- 21:30And there is a particular group of Jews, they still identifying
- 21:34themselves this way. Today, they're known as the
- 21:36ashkenazi's and these were the Jewish people that have returned
- 21:40from Germany and the area surrounding And I forget Which
- 21:44Way their hats look, but very fascinating.
- 21:46When you see them walk on the Sabbath day to their times of
- 21:50worship. At the synagogues in verse 3,
- 21:53talk Mara are those that settled in Armenia.
- 21:57And so there are many ins come through there and it's
- 21:59interesting for you Bible students in Ezekiel chapter 38
- 22:03and 39 may God meshech. Tubal Gomer tog, Mara are all
- 22:09members of the anti-god alliance in the Last days, you learn all
- 22:15that in the first few verses of chapter 10, don't you ever skip
- 22:19a genealogy? Again there is always meet in
- 22:23there if you'll dig a little bit, let's move on to the sons
- 22:27of ham, the sons of ham, the family and lineage of ham
- 22:31beginning in verse 6 or the Oriental African and Canaanite
- 22:37peoples. In verse 6, the sons of ham were
- 22:40cush mizraim, IM put and Canaan. The sons of cush were seba
- 22:46havala Sab, tah, Rama sabotage. And the sons of Rama were Sheba
- 22:54and dedan and I did practice some of these names verse a cush
- 22:58begat Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one on
- 23:01the earth. He was a mighty Hunter before
- 23:04the Lord therefore it was said like Nimrod the mighty Hunter
- 23:07before the Lord and the beginning of his kingdom was
- 23:09Babel Eric akkad and Kane. In the land of shinar from that
- 23:16land, he went to Syria and built Nineveh, Rahab off air and kala
- 23:21resin between Nineveh and calah. That is the principal City verse
- 23:2513. Miss ryeom be got loot him and
- 23:28am in lahab. Mm, not to him past three Sim
- 23:33and cos Elohim from whom came the Philistines and cafetorium.
- 23:39So from ham, come the peoples of Africa and the Far East Arabia.
- 23:43Ethiopia Egypt, Canaan, the Oriental and African nations,
- 23:47Iran. Iraq are all covered in this
- 23:50area. These were a vigorous and
- 23:53aggressive people. The early Empire Builders and
- 23:57controllers of human Destiny. Verse 6, cush cush has a
- 24:01Biblical name for Ethiopia and becomes prophetic as they align
- 24:05with the Antichrist. But when we get to the New
- 24:08Testament, the Kush is super important.
- 24:10Because by the time we get to Acts chapter 8, we're introduced
- 24:13to To a eunuch who was from Ethiopia and God did a great
- 24:18ministry and bringing salvation directly to him.
- 24:21The family of kush divided, some founded Babylon, Nimrod and
- 24:26others went toward Ethiopia. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah
- 24:3013, that Kaku sites, were dark skinned and very tall.
- 24:34Isaiah 45, verse 14, in verse 6 mr.
- 24:38I am founded Egypt verse 6. Put built BR and the region of
- 24:45North Africa, west of Egypt and Canaan, of course refers to the
- 24:49people who filled the ancient land and the area of Israel.
- 24:53The hivites the jebusites etcetera.
- 24:56I want to give a little bit of attention to this guy by the
- 24:58name of nimrod. Again, looking for Bible names
- 25:01for your kids. Here you have one little nimrod.
- 25:06Nimrod is a very interesting character in The Bible.
- 25:10His name literally means Rebel Rebel or to be rebellious.
- 25:16It can also mean Valiant and strong and when you put these
- 25:21definitions together, you have a valiant strong Rebel or you
- 25:26could also say a very strong-willed rebellious, man.
- 25:30Now remember, whenever the Bible speaks of rebellion in a
- 25:34character in a man or a woman the All units toward God, not
- 25:38necessarily toward one another. However, when you are rebellious
- 25:42toward God, you will also be rebellious toward others.
- 25:45And Nimrod is a great example of that.
- 25:47His life was one long Rebellion against the things of God, he's
- 25:51known historically for establishing cities and kingdoms
- 25:56and it says that in verse 9, it says that he had he was a mighty
- 25:59Hunter and just Mark that phrase before the Lord just Mark that
- 26:03will get back to it in a second. He was a mighty Hunter.
- 26:06Her. And so he was talked about is
- 26:08Nimrod. The mighty Hunter before the
- 26:11Lord, but according to the rabbi's and the Jewish targum,
- 26:16the rabbi's taught that this isn't necessarily a reference
- 26:19toward the hunting of animals, as much as it was a hunting or a
- 26:25conquering of The Souls of men. And historically Nimrod starting
- 26:31with Babel continuing to Babylon and thinking of how Babylon
- 26:37represents that in time City in Rebellion toward God.
- 26:43That in the hunting and pursuing, and conquering Nimrod
- 26:46would do whatever it needed to whatever he needed to do, to
- 26:49abuse people, and take advantage of them for his own gain.
- 26:54However, even in his Rebellion, it says that he was before the
- 26:59Lord and I believe, God would have us to be encouraged for
- 27:04those situations in people in our lives that are very hard,
- 27:07very difficult, maybe some rebellious nastas, some enemies.
- 27:13Difficulties attacks that. What's happening to you tonight
- 27:18is happening before the Lord? It is not unseen.
- 27:23I know it feels like that at times.
- 27:26You kind of like an in the psalmist when the psalmist talks
- 27:28about, you know, what is going on, don't you see God, why are
- 27:32you allowing this? Many times David would sit there
- 27:36with his harp and begin to think, you know, what is
- 27:40happening in my life. Why?
- 27:45I had someone very close to me. Recently asked me a couple of
- 27:49questions about why We're just driving along and it's like, why
- 27:53this and why that? And it's easy to try to jump in
- 27:57and begin to answer that question, but eventually it's
- 28:00like, you know, those questions aren't aren't answerable.
- 28:03I don't know why. I might be able to give you some
- 28:06theological answer some principle from the scriptures
- 28:10but even that's not satisfying because it doesn't really take
- 28:12away the difficulty. You got, man.
- 28:15I've got a nimrod after me, Ed, why?
- 28:18So, I don't know. But it's before the Lord nothing
- 28:20is happening. Apart from God.
- 28:23God sees every Wicked person, every Wicked deed and he's aware
- 28:28of everything that goes on which leads to the next.
- 28:30Why question, well why doesn't he just stop it?
- 28:32If he knows it all. Well, some of that is reserved
- 28:38into the mysteries of God's will.
- 28:41I do know this, he has stopped things before.
- 28:45I do know that I do know that in his sovereignty in his grace, he
- 28:49has intervened. I do know that even if he
- 28:52doesn't stop I do know these going to work all things
- 28:54together for the good. I do know that we're going to
- 28:57grow through the pain. I dunno.
- 29:00You know that it's like God has his hand on the thermostat and
- 29:04he doesn't allow it to get hotter than for us to have the
- 29:07way of escape and trusting with our lives.
- 29:10I do know this, I can speak for myself.
- 29:12I may not be able to answer all the white questions but I
- 29:15certainly can speak from my own personal experience.
- 29:18The things that God have allowed in my life as painful as they
- 29:21are have made me a better man. They've made me a more
- 29:24worshipful men. They've made me a more Broken,
- 29:27Man. A more humble man.
- 29:29God is able to use the trials and difficulties in our lives
- 29:32and even the nimrods. Just the nimrods just the name
- 29:36makes you. Yeah.
- 29:37Even the nimrods, he allows the nimrod.
- 29:40Is that name like resonate yet? Nimrod people are listening on
- 29:43the radio, stop it already stopped it but even the rebel,
- 29:47even the value in, in the strong, the ones that seem to be
- 29:49getting away with everything. The ones that seem to have all
- 29:52the power and all the leverage and everything that the world
- 29:55values, they seem to be getting away with it and not only
- 29:58getting away with it more and more and more, I don't know
- 30:02what's happening exactly in the spiritual realm.
- 30:05I don't know how much they're getting away with.
- 30:06I don't know what they're dealing with.
- 30:08I don't know how miserable or life is, I don't know.
- 30:10Any of that. But I do know this.
- 30:12It is all happening before the Lord and He is righteous and he
- 30:17is just and nothing. Nothing.
- 30:21Nothing. Gets past.
- 30:23Scott. What you sow?
- 30:27Is what you reap. I don't know when and I don't
- 30:30know how, but, you know, it can go both ways, right?
- 30:34You don't have to sow to the flesh.
- 30:35You can sow to the spirit, you know what, you sow to the
- 30:38spirit, you'll reap that too. When you soda righteousness,
- 30:41you'll reap righteousness. When you are a giver, you'll be
- 30:45given to, you know, they will be blessed.
- 30:46You'll be encouraged. You'll be strengthened.
- 30:48It's more blessed to give than to receive when you help, when
- 30:52you step into someone's life, when you when you help someone
- 30:55just get up a little bit when you go.
- 30:57Rescue when you redeem, when you helped restore God, blesses
- 31:00those so Nimrod. I mean, you're going to read
- 31:03more of him will read ahead and chapter 11 for our study next
- 31:06time. But Nimrod is the antithesis of
- 31:09God on the Earth. No problem, doing whatever it
- 31:13take, any becomes a picture in a type of the coming Antichrist.
- 31:17It's spoken of in second Thessalonians, in Revelation,
- 31:20the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, but later Babylon,
- 31:24literally mean that he believed he built it, as it was a gateway
- 31:27to. God is what he believed, but
- 31:28Babylon speaks of the ultimate Rebellion against God.
- 31:33And we know this Babylon is ultimately destroyed.
- 31:37In Revelation. All right, let's move on to the
- 31:39family in verse 15 of Canaan. It says Canaan begat side in his
- 31:44first born in Heth. The jebusite, the amorites, the
- 31:47girgashites, the hivite the archive, and the sennight, the
- 31:51Arvid, a'ight the Zimmer right? The Hama fight and afterward the
- 31:55families of the Canaanites were dispersed verse 19 and the
- 31:59border of the Canaanites was from sidon.
- 32:01As you go toward guerard, as far as Gaza and then you go down
- 32:04towards Sodom Gomorrah. Admah and zeboiim as far as
- 32:09lascia. There were sons of ham.
- 32:12These were the sons of ham according to their families,
- 32:14according to their languages, in their lands and in their
- 32:18Nations. So here's the line and family of
- 32:21Canaan, the son of ham, we have brief information on the
- 32:25families of Canaan. One special note in this list is
- 32:28seitan the father of the Hittites.
- 32:31Another Note that you might want to Mark in the verse 17 are the
- 32:36sin i'ts. These are the father of the
- 32:39oriental people, so are the Chinese.
- 32:42And you notice all the items in this line, it's significant all
- 32:45the iights mention here, in Genesis 10 become very
- 32:49significant when the children of Israel enter where the Promised
- 32:54Land Because they all faced all these sites.
- 32:57These are all the enemies of God.
- 33:00They come through the line of Canaan.
- 33:02Now verse 21 children were born also to Shem.
- 33:07The father of all the children of Eber.
- 33:09The brother of japheth the older, the sons of Shem were
- 33:13Elam ashur, arphaxad, lud. Arum the sons of Aaron Were Us
- 33:19whole Gather in mosh arphaxad begat Salah and solid begat Eber
- 33:24and to Eber were born Two sons, the name of one was peleg for in
- 33:28his days. The Earth was divided and his
- 33:31brother's name was joktan, joktan begat Alma dad shall left
- 33:36hazarmaveth Gera had a ram whose ol dick.
- 33:42Le O ball a bimmel Sheba over havala jobab.
- 33:48All these were sons of joktan verse 30 and their Dwelling
- 33:52Place was from me, shaw as you go toward, Safar the Of the
- 33:55East. These were the sons of Shem
- 33:57according to their families, according to their languages, in
- 34:01their lands, according to their Nations, these were the families
- 34:04of the sons of Noah according to their Generations, in their
- 34:08Nations. And from these, the nations were
- 34:10divided on the earth. After the flood, this is an
- 34:15important line Shem. All the descendants of the
- 34:19Middle East come from Shem. But most importantly, shim is
- 34:24the lineage By which Messiah comes.
- 34:28So this is significant. The Semitic peoples come through
- 34:31Shem, the most notable semites, are the descendants of Israel.
- 34:36Now, remember the prophecy that was given of know about shim
- 34:40that he was to be the father of a people whose God, the only
- 34:44living and true God was to be blessed.
- 34:46And so shims, descendants, were to reach out to the world and
- 34:50Lead all people to worship and bless God.
- 34:53Now, notice in verse 21 some highlights so many scholars
- 34:56believe that in verse 21, the children of Eber is actually the
- 35:01root word from which we get our word Hebrew from The rest of the
- 35:05Bible is now focused on this important line and lineage not
- 35:10only because of Israel, but because of Messiah would come
- 35:12through this blessed line of people's.
- 35:15It says, in verse 22, Elam. He was the father of the
- 35:19Pershing Persian people, elamites Abram will settle in
- 35:23this area and while they're in either, my king will come and
- 35:27attack him. Asher was the father of the
- 35:29Assyrian people's blood was the father of the lydians who lived
- 35:33in Asia Minor. And we visit a zoom Asia Minor.
- 35:37When we come through, the rest of the study, in the book of
- 35:39Acts, arum was the father of the syrians in Damascus.
- 35:44A language develops through the syrians the language known as
- 35:49Aramaic. The Aramaic language is one of
- 35:52three languages used in the Bible.
- 35:54Remember, the Old Testament is primarily written in the Hebrew
- 35:59language with the exception of a few chapters in The Book of
- 36:03Daniel. That go and switch from Hebrew
- 36:07to Aramaic and then back to Hebrew.
- 36:10The New Testament was written in the common day language of the
- 36:14first century in the area of Israel, which was koine, Greek.
- 36:21And that's why when you're reading translations in the
- 36:23English, there are length, there are sentence structures and
- 36:27things that our help, even with the new King James, I pointed
- 36:30this out before. But as you're reading through
- 36:32the new King, James, you will see words added in italics.
- 36:37Not in the sense of adding to the Bible but giving Phrase or a
- 36:41turn of phrase that might help it be better understood in the
- 36:45English language. Because if they just translated
- 36:47the Greek straight through, there's no punctuation and the
- 36:50sentence structures are different, and the Greek
- 36:52language is much more descriptive than English.
- 36:55So Aramaic develops through are mm and is used in The Book of
- 36:59Daniel. Jesus himself would speak
- 37:03Aramaic as well. Back to verse 22, the sons of
- 37:07Shem or Elam ashur. Arphaxad is in the direct line
- 37:10leading to Abram and then was in verse 23, you Bible students
- 37:15know that o is that region of Arabia and later, we know that
- 37:20job is known to come from us. Joktan is another name, one of
- 37:27the names following are all associated with the Arab people
- 37:30in that region. In verse 29 is interesting
- 37:33because you have that name over have a law and then jobab.
- 37:38Now many scholars believe that this is an extended version of
- 37:41the name job of which is the oldest believed to be the oldest
- 37:46book in the scriptures. This maybe job there and these
- 37:51two were says were scattered across the globe and we're
- 37:55reminded in job and in Genesis 10 of God's great love for the
- 38:00whole Earth. As we close, it's very important
- 38:03to understand God's heart for the lost and God's heart for the
- 38:06world and my encouragement to you.
- 38:09Whether you're here now or listening on the radio watching
- 38:11online may be listening at some later date.
- 38:14When this airs on the radio, I'm asking you to consider those
- 38:18areas of your life where you are prejudiced.
- 38:23Whatever it may be. Prejudice has an idea, not only
- 38:27of prejudging but thinking more, highly of yourself than others.
- 38:31That when you prejudge someone, they're in a lower class than
- 38:34you, or in a different class and may the Lord by his agape love.
- 38:39Help us to show true love that when we read John 3:16 and it
- 38:44says, God, so loved the world that we really mean it.
- 38:47We really mean the one struggling with sin.
- 38:50We really mean the one that with a rough past, we really mean the
- 38:54one that's in prison right now. We really mean the one that just
- 38:58is their whole life has been one mistake after another one
- 39:01failure after another that we would learn how to actively and
- 39:05again it's the work of the Holy Spirit, none of us can do this
- 39:08on our own, but we would really learn how to walk in the grace
- 39:11of God. That we would really learn how
- 39:14to give Second Chances. Or third chances would
- 39:18participate with the restorative work of God, that we wouldn't be
- 39:22so quick to label people. That we wouldn't be so quick to
- 39:26be influenced by others, that label people, as I agree with
- 39:30them. You know, they made such a
- 39:31convincing case in 30 seconds. But rather I mean I hope you
- 39:38guys are listening to Grace FM. I really do and I mean I there's
- 39:41a little bit of a selfish part of that because I just know when
- 39:43you're listening to Bible studies you'll you'll be
- 39:46encouraged like your the Lord will change you.
- 39:48The more Bible study. Listen to I mean you'll you will
- 39:51change in another way listening to country music but not
- 39:54listening to Bible studies. So it's worth it.
- 39:58But today on the show was just was just the live show is just
- 40:02amazing. It was God, gave a gift.
- 40:05Everybody was listening. You should listen to the
- 40:07podcast. Second half of the show toward
- 40:09the end. A gal calls up and shares how
- 40:13she's having a hard time forgiving herself for being such
- 40:16a rebel as a teenager. Just broken, just can't.
- 40:23She's in her 30s. I think she said she was 38.
- 40:26And she's looking back at a season of her life and just
- 40:29admitting, you know, that she was such a rebel and so hard for
- 40:32her mom or single mom. And, and she just went on
- 40:35sharing that. And as I'm listening and
- 40:37praying, I'm like, well, you know, and as I was leading
- 40:41asking some follow-up questions, talking about shaming a hard
- 40:45time forgiving herself, and if that's something that you
- 40:49wrestle with, I shared with her, you know, not we're working on a
- 40:52book right now. Hopefully it'll be done in the
- 40:54next three to four months on. To deal with your past how to
- 40:58have freedom from your past so we're working on that and that's
- 41:01good. I taught those Bible studies
- 41:03that are up on our app on our website but I asked her for a
- 41:07picture. I just wanted to know.
- 41:08What did she mean by? I don't forgive yourself.
- 41:11I don't want to assume, I don't know what she means.
- 41:15And as she began to explain it, she went right back to 13 years
- 41:18ago. So she fast forwarded from the
- 41:21time with her mom because she's beating herself up for something
- 41:25that happened. 20, something years ago is unique, I mean, we
- 41:28all have regrets, amen. Anybody have regrets.
- 41:31If we think back far enough, we all have regrets so it was just
- 41:34unusual that she was so Tethered to that season.
- 41:37And her mom has forgiven her and all that.
- 41:39So those of you who are listening, you know what she
- 41:41said? She said 13 years ago, I had an
- 41:43abortion. And I just can't forgive myself.
- 41:49And that opened up a whole new channel ministry, didn't it?
- 41:54It happened a whole new opportunity about how she's been
- 41:58held in bondage. This one of the things the
- 42:00abortion industry or those that approve of abortion and that's
- 42:04this. The big secret nobody wants to
- 42:06talk about the real deep seeded painful damage.
- 42:10That's done to a woman and often the man that participates In a
- 42:15decision. So she began to share that and
- 42:19she's began to cry and very emotional time.
- 42:21And and I took the opportunity to help her understand the grace
- 42:26of God and forgiveness of God and And yeah, I know if she had
- 42:32the information today, the back then was she had today she would
- 42:35no way make that decision, but you can't erase 13 years and
- 42:39she's been living within living at that living with it.
- 42:42The reason I believe, it's relevant for our study tonight.
- 42:44Is that if you are watching the news or following all the
- 42:48Christian voices, you would think that abortion is some
- 42:51political Stand to take. You would think that abortion,
- 42:59the primary way of stepping into abortion is just carry a sign
- 43:04and fight for this and yell on the steps because everyone else
- 43:07is yelling. So if everyone's yelling than
- 43:09the Christians have to yell too but the reality is that Jesus
- 43:14Christ came to usher in a different Kingdom.
- 43:18He came in to do a different work.
- 43:21And if you're not careful, you will find yourself identifying
- 43:24with the way people want you to identify.
- 43:27They'll convince you. I mean, after all it's a it's a
- 43:30good cause after all, it's a righteous cause and for us, that
- 43:34you can even it's a Biblical cause to stand in the gap for
- 43:38The Unborn and to stand in the gap for those who have no voice.
- 43:41Yes, yes, yes. And yes, But who's going to
- 43:46reach out to the hurting? Who who's going to reach out to
- 43:51The One carrying this pain for 13 years?
- 43:55And it's manifesting that's not why she called, it's
- 43:59manifesting, because she's can't forgive herself the way she
- 44:02treated her mom. And it's just taking root as a
- 44:06bondage. It seemed like those two things
- 44:08were bondages in her life and even in just a few moments on
- 44:11the radio, God was able to give some release to her and some
- 44:14freedom and some forgiveness. And I'm not advocating.
- 44:18I'm not here as a pastor to tell you how you, engage in the
- 44:23culture wars and such like that. And that's not my, I don't know.
- 44:28You could line up here one after another nasty.
- 44:30I don't know. I don't know.
- 44:31I don't know. I just want you from the pulpit
- 44:34here on behalf. I believe speaking of God, that
- 44:37if you're not careful, you will adopt other people's views and
- 44:40opinions about things and then you will say that's god's
- 44:44opinion and be fully convinced about it.
- 44:47And I just want to say and suggest to you, That you might
- 44:51be wrong. And you spend your whole life
- 44:56and all your energy and passion on wrong things.
- 45:00When your neighbor The person that lives next to you, the
- 45:05person you share a fence with the person that you see taking
- 45:10out the trash. Because she somebody's neighbor.
- 45:15She lives somewhere. Is hurting because of a decision
- 45:22with every. Now everything is on on the news
- 45:24and it's all back in her face. And all God wants for her is to
- 45:28know that he loves her and he forgives her.
- 45:32And it's almost like you can hear the voice of Jesus in some
- 45:35way saying just go and sin no more.
- 45:40Perhaps that's a testimony for you tonight.
- 45:44That's your story. Different name, different age
- 45:49different, but that's your story, your so wounded and
- 45:52crushed and broken. And then all the world has
- 45:56labels and narratives and you're hiding behind this and you're
- 45:59hiding behind that. I mean, we could go today show
- 46:03was really, really powerful. What God wanted to do from just
- 46:07set. Free set, free set, free calls,
- 46:09that's what they were today. God wants to set you free.
- 46:13You don't need to call some radio station to be set free.
- 46:16You can be set free right now, you can come clean before God,
- 46:20you can come with the Open Hands and say, Lord, here I am.
- 46:24Wash me and cleanse me and maybe it's just back to the context of

- 46:45Maybe today you're like, oh, I'm going to look up every single

- 46:50That's all. You just do your own little
- 46:53bible study and go, oh, Ed. I see where I got it.
- 46:56Now, I use the same dictionary you do, but then you start to
- 47:00pray in the lore says. No, this is for you.
- 47:03I don't want it. You know, you look at Nimrod and
- 47:05you go, oh my gosh, what's going on with them?
- 47:06But nimrods before the Lord, nothing's done this, not before
- 47:10the Lord. Nothing is hidden.
- 47:13They won't be revealed. God sees all things.
- 47:17And he just so faithful to us. So father I do pray that as we
- 47:20come to a close today and is this chapter is so fascinating.
- 47:27Give us a heart, God for a love for your world.
