- 0:00Speaker 1: So, Mohammed, my son, not the prophet.
- 0:04Speaker 2: What are you going to start talking about the prophet?
- 0:08Speaker 1: He often does things where I simultaneously am proud and
- 0:15also concerned horrified. My example of that you might remember
- 0:23when Festus was in town, Mohammad wanted to go camping
- 0:28with friends and I said, that's fine, you just need
- 0:30to be home in time for this day. Your brother's
- 0:33going to be here, and he said, oh, I will
- 0:35be And he didn't realize till after they left to
- 0:38go up to Yellowstone that he wasn't going to be
- 0:40home in time, and he just on his own booked
- 0:43a flight from the Yellowstone Report. So simultaneously I'm like.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I'm glad he's got disposable income too well.
- 0:51Speaker 1: He used his he knew he had miles the sky
- 0:55miles and he booked it with that, so simultaneously proud
- 1:00of him for his ingenuity, but also what are you thinking?
- 1:04So we had another one of those last night at
- 1:07the dinner table, and I'm not sure how it came up,
- 1:11but he told us that he and his friends have
- 1:14over the past month or two been building a tree
- 1:20house that I thought was in his friend's backyard. It
- 1:26wasn't it was. I won't tell you where it is,
- 1:29but it was in the forest, in the forest, not
- 1:32on private property in the forest.
- 1:35Speaker 2: What why won't you say where it is?
- 1:38Speaker 1: I don't want him to get in trouble because it
- 1:41well is it?
- 1:42Speaker 2: I mean, is he breaking some laws?
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm sure? And he's telling us. And he was upset
- 1:48because he's like, well, somebody found our tree house and
- 1:53tore it down. And I said, well, wasn't that in
- 1:56your friend's backyard? He said, oh no, it was up
- 2:00in such a canyon. They have for the past two
- 2:03months been going to home depot and buying wood and
- 2:07hauling it up the canyon and building. And I said, well,
- 2:11what what how big was it that you built? And
- 2:13he said it was a five story treehouse. He gets
- 2:16out his phone.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I'd like to see the five I'd like to send pictures.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I didn't. I should have mohammed send them in. I
- 2:25didn't know I was going to talk about it. I'll
- 2:27get some tonight and all five story tree house up
- 2:32in the woods that they have just been.
- 2:34Speaker 2: And he's someone tore it down.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Well, probably I'm guessing it's the Forest Service or.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Something, the LM or something you can't do that.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So, like I said, simultaneously, I think that's cool you
- 2:48can build a five story treehouse, but also horrified that
- 2:54you were in the forest.
- 2:55Speaker 3: We need we need.
- 2:56Speaker 2: To see this.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Okay, we send send the pictures and Katie'll get them
- 3:01up on the TriCaster.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I did with my friends did a similar thing when
- 3:04we were probably probably twelve thirteen something like that. There
- 3:09was a huge tree and we said, let's build a
- 3:12treehouse in that tree. And it was very close to
- 3:14our houses, and we built this really nice. It wasn't
- 3:18five stories, but it was a great big platform and
- 3:21then we put a railing around and all of that,
- 3:24and there was a trapdoor that you'd go up the
- 3:26climb up the ladder and go up through the trap
- 3:29door and it was really great until the owner of
- 3:32the tree said, I wait a minute, what are you doing.
- 3:36I can't you know. Apparently they didn't notice we were
- 3:39doing it for it because it took about a week.
- 3:41Maybe I don't remember. They were out of town or something.
- 3:43But it wasn't on our property. It was on a
- 3:46neighbor's property. No no, no, no, no, you guys, And
- 3:49they made us go up and tear it down as
- 3:52a text.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Back in the nineties, we had a cabin that my
- 3:55friend's older brothers built up in the mountains about a
- 3:58decade later for a service to it. Now, yeah, Sega
- 4:02was a fire hazard. Yeah you can't just go building,
- 4:05just go building.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But in you know, he he could be in the
- 4:09basement playing video games. But he and his friends like.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Well, he does that too, doesn't he.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I mean, he mostly would prefer to be out doing
- 4:17stuff like this, but just casually telling me about And
- 4:22then he said, because we were asking him, you know,
- 4:24what sort of things are you doing with your friends
- 4:26when you're not you know, building three houses? And he says, well,
- 4:30we like to go drive around the Bonneville golf course
- 4:34because they are usually eighth graders there throwing water balloons
- 4:39at cars, and we like to go and have them
- 4:42throw water balloon at us. And then now that we're
- 4:44big high school guys with deep voices, we like to
- 4:46get out and yell at the eighth graders for throwing
- 4:48water balloons at cars. And I said, how how do
- 4:53you know that this is something that the eighth graders do?
- 4:55And he said, well, because when we were in eighth grade,
- 4:57we used to do it.
- 4:59Speaker 2: And se it's a tradition.
- 5:02Speaker 1: He's like, no, it's fine, everybody. That's not fine.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I used to throw snowballs at cars until I got
- 5:10into some serious trouble for that.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And I said, I can't believe I didn't know you did.
- 5:14And he said, aren't you glad you didn't know that
- 5:16I was doing that at the time?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Whoa, I hmm? So much? Yeah, so much to unpacked?
- 5:25Here are they going to rebuild the treehouse at a
- 5:29legal place?
- 5:30Speaker 1: I would not be surprised. Fine, they always have to have.
- 5:34His point was he and his friends like to have projects.
- 5:36Speaker 2: They like to you know, even if it's a simple project,
- 5:40like yelling at eighth graders, that's our project.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Well, what happened to the car detailed project? Because that's
- 5:48that's something that I needed, something that he could do.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I've already deleted it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: It's it will come back in the summer.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I am told, all right, well, did you did we
- 6:00get the pictures?
- 6:01Speaker 2: I want to see them.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Oh no, he's at school.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Oh he didn't send them.
- 6:04Speaker 1: No, I'll get him. No, No, I'll get them from
- 6:07them today.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, we need to see this.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I want to see what kind of a quality construction.
- 6:12Speaker 2: It was. I wonder how much money they were out buying.
- 6:17Speaker 1: That's what he was mostly mad about is that they
- 6:20had bought.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Wood to make it with. Can't be cheapd We scavenged
- 6:24the wood from somewhere exactly. I think there was, you know,
- 6:28there was there were a lot of building sites that
- 6:30it was a new subdivision and houses going up, so
- 6:33we'd go steal lumber from the from various building sites.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Well, where I grew up, there were wood piles all
- 6:40over the place, So you're just going steal from somebody's
- 6:43wood pile.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh God,
