- 0:11Thanksgiving. Lord, you are God, you are on
- 0:15high, you are the most high. God, the God of the Angel
- 0:18armies. Lord, we just come to you today,
- 0:22Father, like little children. Expectant of miracles, Lord,
- 0:26Expectant that you're going to provide for us, expectant God
- 0:31that you are covering us, Lord, and you are protecting us, God,
- 0:35and you know all of our needs, Lord, We bring our needs to you
- 0:39today, Lord. You know everything, Father.
- 0:42You know our financial woes, Lord.
- 0:45You know our health problems, Lord.
- 0:48You know the relational issues, Lord.
- 0:51You know all of the things that plague our minds, God, and try
- 0:55to drag us away. Father, I pray in the name of
- 0:58Jesus that we can find rest today.
- 1:01Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus.
- 1:02You silenced the accusations of the enemy.
- 1:05Father, I pray in the name of Jesus the scales fall off.
- 1:08I pray in the name of Jesus, God, that you will be well
- 1:13pleased to come in and to fill us today.
- 1:16Fill us overflowing. Give us the mind of Christ,
- 1:19Lord. Give us power from on high.
- 1:21Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus, Lord, the the peace of
- 1:25you, God Almighty will come and take up residence in our heart
- 1:30and mind. Lord, give us great contentment
- 1:34in this land. I pray, Father, that everywhere
- 1:37that we go today will be holy ground.
- 1:40I pray for divine appointments today.
- 1:42We put somebody in our path today that desperately needs to
- 1:46hear our salvation story, needs to hear the good news of Jesus
- 1:51Christ and what he did for them on the cross.
- 1:54God, I pray that we will be found obedient children.
- 1:58I pray in the name of Jesus that you will help us, God, to see
- 2:02this world the way that you do, to hear things the way that you
- 2:06do. God, I pray for no idle word.
- 2:09God, I pray that every word will be used for the building up of
- 2:14your brothers and sisters. God, of our brothers and
- 2:17sisters. God, I pray in the name of
- 2:19Jesus, that where you are, we will be also.
- 2:22I pray in the name of Jesus, for the New Jerusalem to come.
- 2:26God, I pray that all the promises contained in this book,
- 2:29Lord, will come to fruition. Help us not to grow weary.
- 2:33Help us not to grow despondent. Help us not to grow distant from
- 2:37you, Lord. I pray that we will keep our
- 2:40eyes on the prize which is Jesus Christ, that we will lock eyes
- 2:44with you Father, and that we will be found steadying the
- 2:48course. That we will be found slowly and
- 2:51methodically walking it out with you, God.
- 2:55I pray that we do not grow discouraged in this hour.
- 2:59I pray against the rain and the wind tearing underneath the
- 3:05house and causing it to crash. I pray that no one will be
- 3:09offended because you do not behave in the way that they want
- 3:12you to. I pray that no one will grow
- 3:15distant from you because you do not behave in the way that they
- 3:19need you to. God, I pray for faith to rise up
- 3:23in this hour. We put on the full armor, God,
- 3:26we put on our helmet of salvation.
- 3:28We take up the shield of faith. Lord, we do battle with the
- 3:33sword, the Spirit, which is your word that we hold in our hands.
- 3:37God, we put on the gospel shoes of peace.
- 3:40Help us to run the race well. God, I pray for the belt of
- 3:44truth. God, help us to be honest and
- 3:46truthful with each other. Help us to be honest and
- 3:49truthful with you. Help us to be honest and
- 3:52truthful with ourselves. God, help us to see ourselves
- 3:56the way that you do, God, and help us to see others as better
- 3:59than ourselves. God and I pray for the breast,
- 4:02the breastplate of righteous, in the name of Jesus.
- 4:06God, I pray that you will help us to extinguish the fiery darts
- 4:10that are coming our way from left and right and front and
- 4:13back and from all directions. God, I pray against the enemy in
- 4:18the name of Jesus. Bind the enemy from off of our
- 4:21families, bind the enemy from off of our children, bind the
- 4:24enemy from off of our lives. God, I pray, Lord, for a
- 4:29supernatural protection. God, for you are good and you
- 4:32are great and you are amazing. You are awesome.
- 4:36You are worthy to be praised. Yes, Jesus, we see you high and
- 4:43lifted up. We look upon you, Jesus, and are
- 4:48saved. Jesus, the King of kings, give
- 4:53us your words today. Holy Spirit, teach us, Holy
- 4:55Spirit, guide us. Holy Spirit, correct US.
- 5:00Holy Spirit, discipline US. Holy Spirit, you increase as I
- 5:07decrease, and it's in the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
- 5:14Well, let's start in verse one. At that time, Jesus went on the
- 5:21Sabbath day through the corn, and his disciples were hungered
- 5:27and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
- 5:31What's he talking about here in verse one?
- 5:36Well, what you're going to have to understand here is that Jesus
- 5:39never used his divine powers to turn rocks into bread.
- 5:47He allowed himself to identify with our humanity.
- 5:51He felt everything that you will ever feel and he felt hungry and
- 5:57he allowed even his disciples there to feel that hunger.
- 6:02There is a cost associated with following after Jesus, he said.
- 6:08Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has
- 6:12nowhere to lay his head. He told the scribe back there a
- 6:15couple chapters ago that it wasn't going to look the way
- 6:19that he thought it was going to. And I don't know if you have
- 6:26felt this hunger, but there's a hunger that only God can
- 6:30satisfy. And it's the same hunger and
- 6:34thirst that Jesus referenced at the well with the Samaritan
- 6:39woman when the disciples came back from town and they said
- 6:43eat. And he said, I have food that
- 6:46you know nothing about. It is this living water that he
- 6:49told the Samaritan woman about. And this is the only substance
- 6:56that will ever satisfy us. You know, it's not what you put
- 7:03in to the body that defiles you. It's what comes out of the body
- 7:09that defiles. And so here you can see Jesus
- 7:14showing the Pharisees, showing the religious folk of that day.
- 7:21You can see him tearing down all of their presuppositions.
- 7:25You can see Jesus tearing down all of their laws on top of laws
- 7:30on top of laws. And he's showing them that he
- 7:33has come to give us grace and grace abounding.
- 7:37And it's starting right here. It is starting at this moment
- 7:41whenever these religious folks see his disciples eating.
- 7:48And if you remember, even John the Baptist disciples wondered
- 7:52why they weren't fasting. And when we're following after
- 7:56Jesus Christ, when we are attached to the power source,
- 7:59there is so much freedom, Friends.
- 8:02There's so much grace, friends, and grace abounds.
- 8:06And when we truly are connected to God Almighty, you don't have
- 8:11to worry about where your next meal is going to come from.
- 8:15You don't have to worry about offending God because you truly
- 8:20are connected to Him and He loves you and you love Him and
- 8:24you have grace and it covers a multitude of sins.
- 8:29And Jesus is going to expound upon that with all the religious
- 8:33people. And we need to be very guarded
- 8:35of becoming dogmatic and legalistic in our approach to
- 8:40worshiping after God. God might tell you to do
- 8:43something that goes against all the things that you've ever been
- 8:47taught. And you need to be OK with
- 8:51knowing that you have actually heard from the voice of God and
- 8:55that you have actually obeyed the things that He's telling you
- 8:59to do, even if they're counter intuitive to all the things that
- 9:03you've ever been taught. And that is what it looks like
- 9:06to follow after Jesus Christ. And don't be surprised if the
- 9:09entire world ridicules you if the entire world turns their
- 9:14back on you. There is such a cost that is
- 9:16associated with following after God Almighty.
- 9:20We're following after the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
- 9:23Yeshua verse 2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto
- 9:29him, Behold, your disciples, do that which is not lawful to do
- 9:35upon the Sabbath day. Go back and read in Genesis how
- 9:38God instituted the Sabbath as a complete rest after he created
- 9:45everything. He entered into that rest on the
- 9:487th day. You and I, Christian, you and I,
- 9:51we celebrate the Lord on the first day of the week and we
- 9:58need to understand what Jesus is about to teach us that God gave
- 10:03us the Sabbath for our own good. God wanted us to enter into that
- 10:10rest, friends, and we can see that the law was fulfilled by
- 10:15Jesus Christ, and we're not under that law.
- 10:19And we can work if we so choose to do, and we can choose a
- 10:25different day of the week to rest on.
- 10:27But we all need to understand the value of that rest.
- 10:31We all need to know that God knew what He was doing even
- 10:36whenever he told the Jews not to eat the pigs.
- 10:39But you and I, we eat pork, don't we?
- 10:41We eat ham and we love it, right?
- 10:43We eat it on our holidays. We don't see anything wrong with
- 10:49it. We need to know that we're not
- 10:52under that, that Jesus fulfilled all of that and it was for
- 10:56humane purposes. Not eating of the swine's flesh
- 11:01was because it was disease ridden.
- 11:03Not working on the 7th day was so that you and I can sharpen
- 11:08the saw. It's like go going out on the
- 11:12ice rink and after a while you've been skating and there's
- 11:15so much slush on the rink and you have to get kicked off the
- 11:20rink so the big machine, the Zamboni, could come out and
- 11:24Polish that ice rink to allow you to come back on.
- 11:28Its smoothing out all of the ruts that you created in your
- 11:34mind as you've been thinking for six days.
- 11:37And as we think that we can be more productive by continuing on
- 11:41on that 7th day, what you will learn is if you will take a day
- 11:44to do absolutely nothing, to just get horizontal and to just
- 11:51rest and relax and meditate upon the Lord for a 24 hour block.
- 11:58What you will find is that when you put your hand to the plow,
- 12:01friends, there's so much more productivity and God will guide
- 12:06you if you will allow Him. And we do not need to be
- 12:09legalistic in our approach to the Sabbath.
- 12:11Friends Three. But he said unto them, have you
- 12:17not read what David did when he was hungry?
- 12:20And they that were with him, what did he do?
- 12:23Four, He entered into the House of God, and he did eat the
- 12:28showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them
- 12:33which were with him, but only for the priests. 3 and 4, Jesus
- 12:40here is ripping down all of their legalistic approach to the
- 12:46law. And these men were guarded
- 12:49because they had lost their first temple and they were
- 12:51afraid of losing it again. They were afraid of the anger of
- 12:56God coming down. And if you go back and study the
- 13:02major prophets and the minor prophets, if you go back and
- 13:05study those books, you are going to find that God gave them
- 13:09chance after chance after chance after chance after chance to
- 13:13turn it all around. But they continued to go down
- 13:17their idol worship, which led them into captivity for 70
- 13:21years. And here Zerubbabel has built
- 13:24this temple, here the Herod has augmented it, here we have this
- 13:30Pharisee sect and the Sadducees sect that has been birthed out
- 13:35of not having the temple there and the captivity.
- 13:38And you can see the synagogues that were developed during that
- 13:42time where they would sit around and talk about scriptures.
- 13:45But what happened over time and what Jesus was desirous to break
- 13:49down in this moment, that it had become so incredibly dogmatic
- 13:55and legalistic that they had placed laws on top of the
- 14:00original law, friends, to keep people from breaking the
- 14:04original law. And so therefore Jesus came to
- 14:09turn it all around and to show them the error of their ways.
- 14:13And they had made a love decision and they actually
- 14:15enjoyed the manipulation of the masses, which was the evil part
- 14:20of what they were doing. And it's no different in our
- 14:23day. It's no different in our hour.
- 14:25It's been said that if you want to become wealthy, to start a
- 14:28religion and you can see how people are desperate for
- 14:32spirituality, you can see how people are spiritual beings.
- 14:36And we don't stay atheistic long.
- 14:38We move into some kind of spiritual realm and usually it
- 14:44is to our detriment. Friends and Jesus right here, He
- 14:49is desirous to show us that He is the only way.
- 14:53He is the truth and He is the life, and no one comes unto the
- 14:56Father except through Him. And the Pharisees refused to see
- 15:00it because they were so steeped and all of their superstitions,
- 15:05they were so steeped in all of their dogmatic approach to the
- 15:11law. And they loved to be seen and
- 15:15they loved to be heard and they loved the power that they could
- 15:19exact over the masses. And Jesus would have no part of
- 15:22it. He turned the entire world
- 15:25upside down with 12 men. Praise the Lord 5 Or have you
- 15:34not read in the law how that on the Sabbath days the priests in
- 15:39the temple profane the Sabbath and are blameless?
- 15:44So here verse 5 is what he's referencing.
- 15:47Here are the priests that have to perform all of the double
- 15:51duties on the Sabbath. Here the priest would take all
- 15:59the offerings and they were doubled over with them on that
- 16:03day. And in a legal sense they were
- 16:11guilty of violating the Sabbath because they had to work.
- 16:16There were so many things that were required of the priest.
- 16:19And here Jesus is pointing out the Pharisees hypocrisy.
- 16:25You know, it's like those who go to church on Sunday and then
- 16:30afterwards they go out to eat and they expect to be fed, and
- 16:35they don't see anything wrong with the people who are having
- 16:39to work to feed them. And they think of them as just
- 16:42heathens, but they're sure they're supporting them.
- 16:46And it's no different. The hypocrisy of our day and our
- 16:49hour. Human nature doesn't change.
- 16:52Friends, we need Jesus. 6 But I say unto you, that in this place
- 16:57is 1 greater than the temple. He's talking about himself.
- 17:01Jesus Christ is greater than a material building.
- 17:05Even the Shekinah glory, even the ark of the covenant, even
- 17:10all of the gold and the sea and the cherubim that were there,
- 17:14Jesus, Jesus is greater than all of that.
- 17:16Jesus is God. 7 But if you had known what this means, and then
- 17:23he quotes again second time, this must be pretty important.
- 17:28Friends, this Hosea chapter 6 verse six, he says, but if you
- 17:32had known what this means, I will have mercy and not
- 17:36sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless.
- 17:42Jesus sees the true motives of a person.
- 17:46Friends, Jesus sees how people dress up and they sure look the
- 17:55part, but deep down they're greedy.
- 17:58People are so incredibly incensed against Christ, and
- 18:04they try to dress themselves up, and God sees their inner
- 18:10thoughts and their inner motives.
- 18:13We should not condemn the guiltless. 8 For the Son of Man
- 18:19is Lord even of the Sabbath day. There he reveals his divinity.
- 18:25He reveals that He is God Incarnate.
- 18:30Verse 8. We move on to verse 9.
- 18:33And when he was departed from there, he went into their
- 18:38synagogue. What boldness does Jesus have?
- 18:43This is the boldness that you and I need to have, that we can
- 18:46face persecution face to face, that we can stare it right in
- 18:53the face and we can not shrink back and not be cowards when
- 18:57people say all kinds of evil against us, when people are
- 19:01incensed against us because of what we stand for and who we
- 19:07believe in Jesus. 10 And behold, there was a man which had his
- 19:13hand withered, and they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to
- 19:17heal on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.
- 19:22So they were trying to set him up.
- 19:25They were trying to get him to do something.
- 19:28They knew that Jesus would have compassion upon this man. 11 And
- 19:33he said it to them. What man shall there be among
- 19:37you that shall have one sheep? And if it falls into a pit on
- 19:42the Sabbath day, will he not lay hold of it and lift it out?
- 19:47So here Jesus is showing them that if they could have the
- 19:50kindness towards a beast, how much more kindness should we
- 19:55have towards someone who is made in the image of God, a human?
- 20:02How much more compassion should we have on our brothers and
- 20:06sisters, on those that have fallen into the pit, even if it
- 20:10is on the Sabbath? 12 How much, then, is a man
- 20:15better than sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do
- 20:20well on the Sabbath day. So he's showing them that it is
- 20:24OK to work on the Sabbath day if it is for him, if it's for
- 20:31Jesus, if we're doing the Lord's work, it is totally and
- 20:35completely under the blood of Jesus Christ. 13 And then he
- 20:42said to the man, Stretch forth thine hand, and he stretched it
- 20:46forth, and it was restored whole, like as the other.
- 20:53What an amazing moment. Can you even imagine having a
- 20:57paralyzed hand, having his shriveled hand?
- 21:01And Jesus says, stretch it forth and it is whole.
- 21:05What a miracle. 14 The Pharisees went out, and they held a
- 21:09counsel against him, how they might destroy him.
- 21:14Look at the hypocrites. Look at how all Jesus did was
- 21:18good, and he healed this man. And here they are actually
- 21:22holding a council on the Sabbath, breaking the law of the
- 21:26Sabbath to try to figure out how to kill this man, because he
- 21:33threatened all of their power. He threatened their finances.
- 21:41And man will go to great length to silence someone who is in
- 21:45opposition of his wealth and power.
- 21:49Don't forget it. 15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew
- 21:56himself from there, and great multitudes followed him, and he
- 22:01healed them all. So here we're going to see how
- 22:04Jesus Christ knew the timeline of God because He is God and he
- 22:09knew that he was to await the Passover that year.
- 22:12He knew that he would have to do many things before they could
- 22:18kill him, and he could OfferUp his body as the perfect
- 22:24sacrifice, the unblemished land. And you can see how Jesus knew
- 22:31everything. He is God and He was awaiting
- 22:36the perfect time to OfferUp himself.
- 22:41No one took his life, but He offered it up.
- 22:48He healed them all. He didn't turn them away.
- 22:52Jesus had great compassion upon this crowd that had great faith
- 22:58in Him. 16 And he charged them that they should not make him
- 23:04known. So he was trying his best not to
- 23:09become famous just for being a miracle worker.
- 23:14He had great compassion on them, but that was not the reason that
- 23:18he had come. The miracles pointed to his
- 23:21divinity, but the true miracle would happen on the cross,
- 23:27whenever Jesus snatched the keys to death and hell, whenever he
- 23:33wrought for us our salvation, and whenever he ascended to the
- 23:38right hand. When he was resurrected and as
- 23:41he ascended to the right hand, we can see that that was the
- 23:45greatest miracle and that he disarmed the enemy. 17 that it
- 23:56might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet
- 23:59saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved,
- 24:07and whom my soul is well pleased, I will put my spirit
- 24:11upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.
- 24:16What an amazing verse. This is referenced all the way
- 24:20back there in Isaiah. You can see how Isaiah was the
- 24:245th Gospel. You can see how Jesus is
- 24:27referenced here and it Matthew understands it as he's pinning
- 24:31this down, he sees the reference that Jesus is God's servant.
- 24:38You go back to Genesis and he says let us make man in our
- 24:43image. You can see God and and Christ
- 24:46and Holy Spirit all together at the beginning.
- 24:49And you can see here in verse 18 how God is well pleased with
- 24:54Jesus coming as a little baby to be born and to live a perfect
- 24:58sinless life, to be offered up for you and for me.
- 25:03And he is well pleased with him and he put his Spirit upon him
- 25:08and he is going to show judgment.
- 25:10Look at the reference to the Gentiles here.
- 25:12You know this is prior to the cross, and so the entire plan
- 25:20unfolding for you and for me and for the Gentiles and what it was
- 25:23all going to look like and how we were going to be called
- 25:26Christians, it was all pointed to right here.
- 25:30You can see it in verse 18. Whenever he references us, the
- 25:35Gentiles praise God. 19 He shall not strive nor cry, neither
- 25:42shall any man hear his voice in the street.
- 25:45So Jesus, as he went about, he did not use bravado, He did not
- 25:50use any kind of mighty show. He was very subtle in his
- 25:57approach. Look at how he just told them a
- 25:59couple lines ahead. He just told them not to tell
- 26:03anybody. He's trying his best to keep it
- 26:06all under wraps until the perfect timing.
- 26:10And you can see that reference here in 1920.
- 26:13A bruised Reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he
- 26:18not quench until he sends forth judgment unto victory.
- 26:23Verse 20 is a reference to those that are kicked down to the
- 26:28marginalized. The verse 20 is whenever you
- 26:32feel as if you're about to fall off the edge, you feel as if
- 26:37you're on the verge of a breakdown.
- 26:40And he says that Jesus comes in and he does not break that
- 26:45bruised Reed. He stabilizes it and he heals it
- 26:52and He does not quench the smoking flax.
- 26:56He fuels it. He puts the Holy Spirit there
- 27:01and he touches it and heals it and causes it to burst into
- 27:06flames and to burn bright and to be strengthened is what is
- 27:11mentioned in verse 2021. And in his name shall the
- 27:16Gentiles trust. So here it is friends 18/19/2021
- 27:23He is referencing your salvation.
- 27:25Gentile praise God, Hallelujah. It was his plan from the
- 27:30beginning. You can see that the rejection
- 27:34by the Jews caused us to run ahead and it'll be the jealousy
- 27:40of the Jews that caused them to come into the fold.
- 27:44They will finally see Jesus Christ as their long-awaited
- 27:47Messiah. It all points to Him.
- 27:50It all points back to Him. It's all about Him.
- 27:54Friends. 22 Then was brought unto him, one possessed with the
- 28:00devil, blind and dumb, and he healed him in so much that the
- 28:05blind and dumb both spoke and saw.
- 28:09So. 22 We saw that whenever there would be these false
- 28:14exorcisms of the religious folk of that day, the Pharisees and
- 28:21the Sadducees and the Sanhedrin and all of the Jews that were
- 28:25there, what would happen is if someone had a demon, they would
- 28:30try to get the demon to call out his name, and then they would
- 28:34use that as a handle to exorcise that demon out of that person.
- 28:40And it was all a big show. And here Jesus restores his
- 28:45speech because he does not need to know the name.
- 28:49Jesus can see everything. Jesus doesn't need to go by the
- 28:53prescribed ideas of how to exorcise demons.
- 28:58He has all authority over all the material, all of the
- 29:03spiritual, over the physical. He has all authority over every
- 29:09planet and star and fish and every single thing that teams in
- 29:16the waters or flies above our heads.
- 29:19He is Lord over it all. 23 And all the people were amazed and
- 29:27said, is not this the son of David?
- 29:30So here's the messianic title and what a beautiful title it
- 29:35is. We can see that Jesus is
- 29:38royalty. 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said,
- 29:44this fellow does not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub, the
- 29:52Prince of the devils. So here they are.
- 29:55They're blaspheming the work of the Holy Spirit here.
- 29:59They're trying to relegate Jesus Christ Divinity.
- 30:03They're trying to relegate his embodiment of Yahweh, and
- 30:10they're trying to say that it is by Satan that he does all of his
- 30:16miracles. How pathetic.
- 30:20This is such envy. You can see envy in its highest
- 30:26form here. They hate him because he's so
- 30:30good and they are not 25. And Jesus knew their thoughts,
- 30:37and he said unto them, Every Kingdom divided against itself
- 30:41is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided
- 30:45against itself shall not stand. This is common sense here,
- 30:50friends. The common sense here is that
- 30:55Satan doesn't try to go and beat up on the demons.
- 31:00Demons don't war with other demons.
- 31:04That is what we do, friends. We beat up on each other even
- 31:10though we all belong to the Lord as as believers and as
- 31:13Christians. And it is US who try to break
- 31:18each other apart, and far be it from us to do so.
- 31:22Look at how Satan is so calculated that he does not
- 31:26divide against himself. It's common sense stuff that
- 31:30Jesus is talking about here, but they would not accept it. 26 And
- 31:35if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself, how
- 31:40shall then his Kingdom stand? And this shows us that all of
- 31:44this spirituality is real and there is a real enemy, and he
- 31:49plays for keeps, and he is here to steal, kill and destroy.
- 31:53And don't forget it, and don't discount it and don't discredit
- 31:57it. And don't just think that it's
- 31:59some kind of Hollywood stuff that's just on a movie and it's
- 32:03all just a bunch of fanaticism or it's all just OK and it's
- 32:08entertainment. It's not friends.
- 32:10It's true and it's real and it's around you, and it'll grip you
- 32:13and it'll choke you out if you allow it to have any kind of
- 32:17foothold in your life, you need to get rid of it in the name of
- 32:21Jesus. 27 And if I be beils above, cast out devils, And by
- 32:29whom do your children cast them out?
- 32:31Therefore they shall be your judges.
- 32:33So here he just breaks them down.
- 32:35He just shows them how completely ignorant they are and
- 32:40how they're incensed against him for no reason. 28 But if I cast
- 32:47out devils by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come
- 32:51unto you. So he's saying the same thing
- 32:53that's going to get talked about later on, where it's like, if,
- 32:56if this is the Son of God, what are we going to do about it?
- 32:59But if it is just a man, and if he's just a religious leader, if
- 33:05he's just some kind of heretic, it'll all go by the wayside.
- 33:09And Jesus is showing the Pharisees here.
- 33:11He's showing the religious of that time.
- 33:14He's showing them that he is the Son of God, and what are they
- 33:19going to do about it? He's showing that the Kingdom of
- 33:23God has come near to them, which was proclaimed by John the
- 33:27Baptist and then backed up by Jesus himself. 29 Or else how
- 33:31can one enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods,
- 33:36except he first bind the strongman, and then he will
- 33:39spoil his house? Jesus Christ snatching people.
- 33:44Jesus Christ binding Satan in the demonics.
- 33:49Jesus Christ calling us to himself.
- 33:55You cannot even come unto God unless the Spirit draws you
- 33:58here. Jesus is binding and silencing
- 34:02the accusations of the enemy. He has no power over you.
- 34:06Christian, grab hold of the hem of Jesus garment.
- 34:11Listen to the Lord's voice. Get rid of all of the things
- 34:18that are dragging you away. Have the strength in the name of
- 34:23Jesus to throw them out. Do not give them place in your
- 34:28life. Do not listen to those evil
- 34:30voices. Do not listen and set your eyes
- 34:34upon evil things. Even if they if you think that
- 34:37they are neutral, they are not. Jesus is going to talk about
- 34:41that. 30 He that is not with me is against me, and he that
- 34:48gathers not with me scattered abroad.
- 34:51So here Jesus is showing. There is no neutrality, there's
- 34:56no spiritual Switzerland. Friends, we have to choose.
- 35:02Choose whom you will serve this day.
- 35:06But As for me, in my house we will serve the Lord.
- 35:09And there were so many that were wanting to go back to Egypt,
- 35:14there were so many that wanted to go back into slavery.
- 35:18They quickly started worshiping the golden calf and it revealed
- 35:22their true motives that they were hostile towards God.
- 35:26And Jesus is showing the Pharisees, he's showing the
- 35:31religious of that day, the error of their ways, and they need to
- 35:35trust and they need to choose him.
- 35:38And how hard would it have been to see this carpenter's son who
- 35:45did not go and become a priest, and he was circumventing their
- 35:51entire organization? And how frustrating would it
- 35:57have been for them? And only a few got it and
- 36:01understood. Praise God for those men and
- 36:05women. Praise God for this complete
- 36:08work that we hold in our hands. 31 Therefore I say unto you, All
- 36:13manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men, but
- 36:17the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto
- 36:21men. And you might be afraid, and you
- 36:23might try to figure out, did you ever commit this sin?
- 36:27And are you going to be damned for all of eternity?
- 36:30And I want you to know, friends, if there's breath in your lungs,
- 36:35then you have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit.
- 36:37Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is whenever we reject the finished
- 36:41work of the cross. There is no more salvation for
- 36:46anyone who rejects the finished work of the cross.
- 36:50Jesus Christ is the only way and we can blasphemy the Holy Spirit
- 36:55by dying in our trespasses and sin without ever giving in to to
- 37:02the prompting of the Holy Spirit when he's drawing you unto God.
- 37:06When we think that we're not worthy of it, when we think that
- 37:09we've done too much, when we believe all the lies of the
- 37:12enemy. When the enemy sows in so many
- 37:15lies and tries to get us to believe that God's mad at us
- 37:19that he's turned his back on us and we die in that we will be
- 37:22eternally separated from God forever and that is this
- 37:25blaspheming of the Holy Spirit. And you can see how the
- 37:29Pharisees had made a love decision for greed, and they had
- 37:33made a love decision for power. And they cared nothing for
- 37:37Jesus. They cared nothing for God.
- 37:39They cared nothing. They just like to have all of
- 37:43the power and to exact it over the masses.
- 37:45And it's no different today, friends 32 Whosoever speaks a
- 37:53word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him.
- 37:57And who? Whosoever speaks against the
- 37:59Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this
- 38:03world, neither in the world to come.
- 38:05So here is where we start wrapping the chains all around
- 38:11us of condemnation and we believe the lies of the enemy
- 38:16and he entangles us in this world and we live in hell here.
- 38:21And then if we were to die in that without ever receiving the
- 38:28forgiveness from Jesus Christ for all of our sins that we have
- 38:33ever committed, are committing, and will ever commit, if we are
- 38:37not covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, we will be
- 38:40eternally separated for all of eternity.
- 38:43And that is what he is referencing here, Friends. 33
- 38:47Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the
- 38:50tree corrupt, for his fruit corrupts, for the tree is known
- 38:54by its fruit. So there again he's showing
- 38:57there is no neutrality. Even the tree that bears no
- 39:00fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
- 39:04Not just the tree that produces bad fruit, Friends, it is also
- 39:10the tree that produces no fruit that gets cut down and cast into
- 39:15the fire. 34 O generation of Vipers, how can you, being evil,
- 39:22speak good things? For out of the abundance of the
- 39:25heart the mouth speaks. So we can see that what we store
- 39:28up in our heart comes vomiting out, whether good or bad,
- 39:33whenever you look the part. And you sure talk to talk, but
- 39:38deep down you are being facetious.
- 39:43You are not being true. Whenever you are steeped in
- 39:49idolatry will eventually come out friends.
- 39:52And that is how God designed us friends, that whatever we are
- 39:57storing up in our hearts will come out eventually. 35A good
- 40:05man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good
- 40:08things, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth
- 40:11evil things, So you will know them if you'll just pay
- 40:14attention. This is why God tells us to be
- 40:17quick to listen and slow to speak because we need to sit and
- 40:20listen a whole lot more than we need to talk, Friends, and we
- 40:24need to sit whenever someone is speaking.
- 40:27You are, you should be able to have these intelligence
- 40:30indicators whenever the radar is on the antennas up.
- 40:33You should be able to know when people do not have the Lord's
- 40:39presence in their lives. They do not have the peace of
- 40:42God ruling and raining on their hearts and minds.
- 40:46You'll be able to know it. 36 But I say unto you, that every
- 40:50idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof
- 40:54in the day of judgment. So really quickly there are two
- 40:58judgments. There's the judgment of us, the
- 41:01believers, and there is the judgment of the unrighteous
- 41:04sinners. And the Great White Throne will
- 41:08be where Jesus, where God Almighty makes everyone bow down
- 41:15and worship Jesus. Every tongue will confess, every
- 41:19knee will bow. And so therefore, at the Great
- 41:22White Throne of Judgment, when the books are open, they will
- 41:28give an account for everything that they've ever done.
- 41:32And they'll try to say that they've done all of these things
- 41:37and given away all of this money.
- 41:39And he'll say, depart from me for I never knew you because
- 41:43they're not covered in the blood.
- 41:44But for those of us who are believers, those of us who have
- 41:49been covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, when we stand for
- 41:53our judgment, it'll be for the rewards.
- 41:56And most of what we do is wood, hay, and stubble, friends.
- 41:59But we will give an account and he's, he shows us here that we
- 42:05will give an account for every idle word.
- 42:08We need to make sure that we are not just saying anything and
- 42:17everything all the time. We need to make sure that we are
- 42:20very intentional with our words. Friends, let no unwholesome talk
- 42:29come from your mouth, but that which is useful for the
- 42:32edification of the Saints. Friends, every idle work, every
- 42:40idle word that men shall speak, they will give an account in the
- 42:44day of Judgment. 37 For by your words you shall be justified,
- 42:51and by your words you shall be condemned.
- 42:54So there, this just if I'd had never done it.
- 42:58This is whenever we put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
- 43:02He said, All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
- 43:06So therefore that is whenever your words justify you by
- 43:10calling on that name of Jesus Christ.
- 43:13But for those who blasphemy the Holy Spirit, they will be
- 43:17condemned by their own words, friends, because they refuse to
- 43:24call upon that name. 38 Then certain of the scribes and the
- 43:30Pharisees answered, and they said, Master, we would see a
- 43:33sign from you. So they're trying to get him to
- 43:37give them a sign. And look at all the miracles
- 43:39he's already done. How wicked and perverse are
- 43:43they? 39 But he answered and said unto
- 43:45them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, and
- 43:50there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet
- 43:54Jonah. 44 As Jonah was 3 days and three nights in the whale's
- 43:59belly, so shall the Son of Man be 3 days and three nights in
- 44:03the heart of the earth. He is prophesying his death,
- 44:07burial, and resurrection. Praise God. 41 And the men of
- 44:12Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall
- 44:16condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of
- 44:19Jonas. And behold, a greater Jonas is
- 44:22here. He's saying that he is the
- 44:25greatest prophet. 42 The queen of the South shall rise up in
- 44:30the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn
- 44:33it, for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to
- 44:37hear the wisdom of Solomon. Behold, a greater than Solomon
- 44:40is, he is here. So he is the greatest king.
- 44:44He's the royalty, He is their prophet, priest and king all
- 44:54wrapped up here. And look at how the Ninevites
- 44:58and look at how the Queen of Sheba, they were Gentiles in its
- 45:02reference here. You and me, friends. 43 When the
- 45:08unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he walks through dry places
- 45:11seeking rest, and he finds none. He's going to give us a little
- 45:15lesson in how the demonic realm works. 44 Then he says, I'll
- 45:20return into my house from where I came out.
- 45:23And when he has come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished.
- 45:26So you can see there is no neutrality.
- 45:29We need to have the surrounding encompassing glory of God all
- 45:36around us. The kind of glory covering us,
- 45:40friends. The wings of God covering us,
- 45:44friends. This is how we're protected is
- 45:48when we're dwelled by the Holy Spirit. 45 And then he goes and
- 45:53takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than
- 45:55himself. They enter in, and they dwell
- 45:58there in the last state of that man is worse than the first.
- 46:01Even so shall it be unto this wicked generation.
- 46:05He's calling the Jews out. He's showing them that they have
- 46:09rejected their only hope. Jesus is our only hope, friends,
- 46:15to make it into heaven, to make it there with God Almighty.
- 46:20Jesus is the only way. And he's showing them that they
- 46:24have made their love decision, that they are hostile towards
- 46:27the only way in the straight way.
- 46:33Friends Jesus 46 And while he yet talked to his people,
- 46:40behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, desiring
- 46:46to speak to him. They're trying to come get him
- 46:49back. He's been rejected by the Jews,
- 46:51and his family is there, and they're wanting to save him from
- 46:58embarrassment. What does Jesus say?
- 47:0247 And then once said unto him, Behold, your mother and your
- 47:06brothers, they stand outside, they want to speak to you. 48
- 47:11But he answered and said to him, Who is my mother and who are my
- 47:16brothers? Wow, what an insult to Mary,
- 47:22Mother Mary, she is not divinity.
- 47:26We do not need to go through her.
- 47:29She does not have perpetual virginity.
- 47:31Friends. She was just a human like you
- 47:35and me, but she was blessed because God chose her a house,
- 47:41His Son, His only begotten Son. And Jesus here is showing us
- 47:47that she needs to come into the faith.
- 47:54She treasured all these things up in her heart.
- 47:58But His brothers and His mother right here, they had not made a
- 48:01love decision yet as to who the Christ was for 49 And he
- 48:08stretched forth his hand towards his disciples.
- 48:10He said, behold my mother, my brothers, that's you and that's
- 48:14me. Friends, praise God that we can
- 48:18be part of his family and he's showing us the new family here.
- 48:24We'll end on 50. Whosoever shall do the will of
- 48:29my father, which is in heaven, the same as my brother, sister,
- 48:34mother, praise God. He's showing us here how he
- 48:39views us as believers. We're part of his family, and
- 48:45where he went, we will go to be also.
- 48:47He went to prepare a place for us.
- 48:49Praise God. Hallelujah.
- 48:52We just want to be where He is. We don't care about all the
- 48:55street of gold. We don't care about any of that.
- 49:01We just want Christ. He is enough.
- 49:05Christ is enough. Praise the Lord for this
- 49:09chapter. I hope you've been blessed by
- 49:10it. I know I sure have.
- 49:11I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 49:16I love you. So does God.
- 49:21We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 49:23God bless you.
