Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. After ten yard line second to day free
- 0:08Speaker 1: wide receivers now in motion as Pumpas left or right,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Julius Jones. A single setback Matt pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown Seahawks.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the end zone
- 0:23Speaker 1: our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppus and the kid
- 0:26Speaker 1: out of Washington State has found himself a place on
- 0:29Speaker 1: this team powered by Seahawks dot Com. What, folks, this
- 0:34Speaker 1: is Michael Bumpus and you're listening to Hawk Talk to
- 0:36Speaker 1: recap edition. Unfortunately, the Seahawks fall to the Cardinals twenty
- 0:40Speaker 1: seven to thirteen. But folks, it doesn't change anything. They
- 0:43Speaker 1: can still win the NFC West. So let's get some
- 0:46Speaker 1: positivity going out here at twelves. Like usual, we're gonna
- 0:49Speaker 1: start off the episode by talking to the big guy,
- 0:52Speaker 1: Ray Roberts. How you doing, Ray, I'm doing pretty good, buddy.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Getting ready for the holidays. Have a little family time,
- 0:58Speaker 1: little downtime. Here we go, Here you go. You got
- 1:00Speaker 1: all your shopping done? Everything's good, ready to go. I
- 1:03Speaker 1: don't even have to do like a few literal emergency
- 1:05Speaker 1: runs today. But for the most part, yeah, you better
- 1:08Speaker 1: than me. I'm last minute. I'll be at the mall
- 1:10Speaker 1: a little later. So let's get into this game. Man,
- 1:13Speaker 1: what do you think was the biggest factor in yesterday's loss?
- 1:17Speaker 1: You know what, I was for the first time, Like
- 1:20Speaker 1: you normally don't see a Pete Carroll team do something
- 1:25Speaker 1: like this, but I almost think that they were. They
- 1:29Speaker 1: were probably looking past this game a little bit. Not
- 1:33Speaker 1: that they were like thinking they were gonna roll their
- 1:35Speaker 1: helmets out there and win the football game, but I
- 1:38Speaker 1: think that they, you know, obviously know there's a lot
- 1:40Speaker 1: ride on that last game with the forty nine ers,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and I honestly think they they may have lost a
- 1:45Speaker 1: little focus a little bit, even though they started out
- 1:47Speaker 1: the game like gamebusters. I mean, the officers went right
- 1:50Speaker 1: down the field, got a touchdown, everything was great. But
- 1:53Speaker 1: then nothing happened after that until the Cardinals came here,
- 1:58Speaker 1: you know, pretty much for nothing to lose. They're they're
- 2:00Speaker 1: kind of the super Bowl for them. They could be
- 2:02Speaker 1: smaller to a couple of teams and things, and so
- 2:05Speaker 1: they just they just came up here and just just
- 2:07Speaker 1: seemed to have a little bit more of an edge
- 2:09Speaker 1: than we had. I saw your tweet on Jamarco Jones.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You're saying you're still behind the young man. You think
- 2:14Speaker 1: that he could right his wrongs um after this past week. Absolutely, man, Like,
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've been in that position before, and like you know,
- 2:21Speaker 1: sometimes you know, young guys will have a bad game
- 2:24Speaker 1: and everybody want to write them off or call him
- 2:27Speaker 1: trash or whatever. But man, that's just part of the process. Man. Like,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I've had that type of game before where you just
- 2:32Speaker 1: can't seem to get anything right. And I was a
- 2:35Speaker 1: young guy playing against some veteran dudes. His name was
- 2:37Speaker 1: actually Anthony Smith from the Raiders. Actually got benched. It
- 2:40Speaker 1: was like my rookie year, and they they sat me
- 2:43Speaker 1: down for like a quarter and then a second quarter,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and I came back in a second half. But but
- 2:48Speaker 1: you have those types of games, and those games you
- 2:50Speaker 1: can you grow from. And he's athletic enough, he's a
- 2:53Speaker 1: good enough football player. I think he's gonna be around
- 2:55Speaker 1: for a long time. Uh that he just needs to
- 2:57Speaker 1: correct some some technical things and I think he'll be
- 3:00Speaker 1: right now. The Hawks loss Chris Carson for the year
- 3:03Speaker 1: um as a fracture in his hip. How big is
- 3:06Speaker 1: that loss? And do you think that Travis Homer and
- 3:10Speaker 1: whoever else they bring in is going to be able
- 3:11Speaker 1: to fill that void? You know what this is like
- 3:15Speaker 1: as an offensive lineman like this is almost like an
- 3:18Speaker 1: offensive lineman's dream, this situation to see officer in because
- 3:23Speaker 1: the success of this season is resting squarely on the
- 3:26Speaker 1: shoulders of the offensive line as it relates to the offense,
- 3:30Speaker 1: because it doesn't matter who they put back there, whatever
- 3:32Speaker 1: back they find to bring in or sign, and with
- 3:35Speaker 1: Travis Homer, uh and then also protecting Russell Wilson, it
- 3:39Speaker 1: is going to be able to then offensive line room
- 3:40Speaker 1: to man up, buckle up, strap it on, and then
- 3:43Speaker 1: go out there and put this offense from the back
- 3:45Speaker 1: on their backs and make it happen. Create some holes
- 3:48Speaker 1: running lanes for the running backs, create some protection for
- 3:51Speaker 1: Russell Wilson and h and really take on that challenge.
- 3:55Speaker 1: They've been a strength, a positive for this team for
- 3:59Speaker 1: the last couple years and right now it's time for
- 4:02Speaker 1: them to really uh create a reputation, earn their keeth
- 4:06Speaker 1: if you want to call it that uh and really
- 4:08Speaker 1: go out and take over this game and take over
- 4:10Speaker 1: the rest of the season and just put put the
- 4:12Speaker 1: success on their on their backs and run with it.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Now there they're rumors going around that Marshawn Lynch could
- 4:18Speaker 1: sign with the Seattle Seahouse. What do you think his
- 4:21Speaker 1: presence will do to this offense? Well, I think it
- 4:24Speaker 1: will galvanize the locker room a little bit. The dude
- 4:27Speaker 1: just has a there's something about him. He just it
- 4:29Speaker 1: doesn't matter, uh, you know, when he comes to a
- 4:31Speaker 1: team or how he gets to the team, he has
- 4:34Speaker 1: this it factor just kind of galvanizes everybody, gets everyone
- 4:37Speaker 1: pumped up. I'm sure some of the fans will be
- 4:40Speaker 1: excited to have him back and uh, you know, anything
- 4:42Speaker 1: you can get out of him, Like, you can't count
- 4:44Speaker 1: that dude out. He's just a different type of dude.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And so I think he can come in, give you
- 4:49Speaker 1: a handful of carries and you know, fell Homer, I
- 4:53Speaker 1: think for a little bit, and then just see what
- 4:55Speaker 1: you can get out of him. Man, Like you just
- 4:57Speaker 1: never know, you never know what that dude because he's
- 5:00Speaker 1: just a different cat than most guys. I'm excited about it,
- 5:04Speaker 1: Like I got excited just watching people tweet about it
- 5:07Speaker 1: last night. And uh and so the fact that, uh,
- 5:11Speaker 1: I think he may be coming to town from physical
- 5:13Speaker 1: or something gets me even more excited. So you know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: anything will help. You're gonna have to have somebody back there,
- 5:19Speaker 1: and uh so why not have march On Lynch. Now
- 5:22Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm excited as well. So let's let's
- 5:24Speaker 1: talk about the other side of the ball, the defensive
- 5:26Speaker 1: side of the ball. Um Quandre Diggs didn't play, Jadavion
- 5:29Speaker 1: didn't play. How big was that was? Not having those
- 5:33Speaker 1: two guys out there? How big was that impact? Well?
- 5:36Speaker 1: I think it. I think it was a big It
- 5:38Speaker 1: was a big bill. Uh. And then not having al
- 5:40Speaker 1: Woods either, like get in the middle of the defense
- 5:42Speaker 1: because they were getting some pretty good movement there. I
- 5:45Speaker 1: don't know if uh, you know, Reid and Jefferson and
- 5:48Speaker 1: those other guys in the middle need to bone up
- 5:51Speaker 1: the middle of that that defensive line a little bit there'
- 5:54Speaker 1: there's too much space to run. Obviously, the big eighty
- 5:57Speaker 1: eighty four eighties plus yard touchdown run wasn't really cool
- 6:01Speaker 1: to see. You never see that that type of stuff
- 6:03Speaker 1: against the Seahawks, But uh, you know they just didn't
- 6:06Speaker 1: seem to have I don't want to say they didn't
- 6:08Speaker 1: have the energy. It just seemed that, like um, I
- 6:11Speaker 1: think Dave Wyman said it, in the chest match of
- 6:14Speaker 1: offense versus defense, it seemed as if the Cardinals kept
- 6:18Speaker 1: making the right move. Uh. So, like even on an
- 6:22Speaker 1: eighty four yard touchdown run, it looked like Kendrickson and
- 6:26Speaker 1: Wagner were blitzing on the backside and they they hit
- 6:29Speaker 1: the plate on the front side, and so then there
- 6:32Speaker 1: was there was only like two or three defenders over
- 6:34Speaker 1: there against three or four or five guys that they
- 6:36Speaker 1: were pulling on that play. And uh, and so it
- 6:39Speaker 1: just it just happened to be the perfect play call
- 6:41Speaker 1: against the defense that they had called. And so it
- 6:44Speaker 1: just seemed like they kept getting hits like that all
- 6:47Speaker 1: all day long. And so, uh, to be honest, who's
- 6:50Speaker 1: thought it was like this game was like me trying
- 6:53Speaker 1: to cook. It was a disaster. You know, like like
- 6:57Speaker 1: like if you if you ever saw me try to
- 7:00Speaker 1: cook anything, I don't care if it's toast, the kitchen
- 7:02Speaker 1: is gonna be an absolute mess. And that's what this
- 7:05Speaker 1: game was. And so it's one of those games and
- 7:08Speaker 1: fans I don't always like to hear it where you
- 7:10Speaker 1: just go, you know what, We're gonna dig a hole
- 7:12Speaker 1: and bury the taste, and we're never gonna look at it,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and we're gonna put our focus on the San Francisco
- 7:18Speaker 1: forty nine ers. We still have something to play for.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It's the end of the season, you know, I said
- 7:23Speaker 1: last night, I've been on a lot of teams where
- 7:26Speaker 1: at this time of the year, the only thing we're
- 7:28Speaker 1: playing for is who can get to the airport faster
- 7:31Speaker 1: to get home, Like that's all we're that's all we're
- 7:33Speaker 1: playing for. And these dudes are playing for an opportunity
- 7:36Speaker 1: to possibly have a playoff game here at Central lank
- 7:40Speaker 1: and you're still you're still in the mix to get
- 7:43Speaker 1: to the super Bowl. So I'm still excited. It's a
- 7:45Speaker 1: little disappointing that the game didn't go the way you'd
- 7:48Speaker 1: wanted to go, but there's no reason to panic, there's
- 7:50Speaker 1: no reason to sign them off. And as long as
- 7:52Speaker 1: you have Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner and Pete Carroll, you're
- 7:56Speaker 1: gonna have a chance. Yeah, I feel you. I'm glad
- 7:59Speaker 1: that you asked us and calmed us down, because they
- 8:02Speaker 1: still have an NFC West that they could win. They're
- 8:06Speaker 1: in the playoffs, they got big things ahead. So I
- 8:08Speaker 1: appreciate the wise words of Ray Roberts. Ray, thanks for
- 8:12Speaker 1: taking time out of your busy day to holler at us.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So I appreciate a big married persons, Buddy, happy, happy holidays.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I hope your family's selling better, Sammy, you and yours
- 8:20Speaker 1: man appreciate you. See all right, We're gonna move along
- 8:25Speaker 1: to our main takeaways. What did we take away from
- 8:28Speaker 1: this game? The Seahawks were beating the all phases of
- 8:30Speaker 1: the game against the Cardinals. But nas, it is what
- 8:34Speaker 1: it is. This is the NFL. They're gonna be days
- 8:36Speaker 1: like this. No one wins every single game. Only one
- 8:39Speaker 1: team has done that in NFL history. Yep, yep, and
- 8:41Speaker 1: you know other than the Dolphins and the Patriots even
- 8:43Speaker 1: lost in Super that one time. I mean, it's it's
- 8:46Speaker 1: hard for me. I've had to challenge myself. Listening to
- 8:48Speaker 1: Pete Carroll this morning, he's really it's been like a
- 8:49Speaker 1: therapy session for me because after the game, it's like,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you know, you lose Carson, you lose pro Sie. Dwayne
- 8:56Speaker 1: Brown had surgery this morning, so you're like it's easy
- 8:59Speaker 1: to bummed out. The game did not go away in
- 9:02Speaker 1: any phase of the game, but that's it. Just like pizza,
- 9:05Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. The coaches were done with yesterday's game
- 9:07Speaker 1: at eight o'clock. Everything's towards the Niners because everything is
- 9:09Speaker 1: still in front of us. So no, I feel good.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I feel a lot better now, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I do feel better. The drive up here was it
- 9:15Speaker 1: kind of sucked. But now yeah, I'm all right, Yeah
- 9:17Speaker 1: we're good now, feel good now. Russell Wilson was sacked
- 9:20Speaker 1: five times and took a beating. They gotta protect this
- 9:22Speaker 1: man though, They gotta keep him up right, No, Russell
- 9:24Speaker 1: Wilson no chance of winning. Yeah, pretty much. Russell's the
- 9:27Speaker 1: guy obviously, everything the key to what we do offensively.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And yeah, it was just a tough day. I mean,
- 9:31Speaker 1: Ray kind of spoke to a little bit. You had
- 9:33Speaker 1: Jamarco Jones out there, who's played really well first at
- 9:35Speaker 1: times this year and at times played really well yesterday.
- 9:38Speaker 1: It was just tough. They Chandler Jones has like nineteen
- 9:41Speaker 1: sacks man. The dude is a monster. We saw that yesterday.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So I think those are things they can get cleaned up.
- 9:47Speaker 1: But it definitely has happened because Russell can't getting hit
- 9:49Speaker 1: that much. Yep, another techaway. After the first drive, the
- 9:53Speaker 1: Hawks went on him punt punt, punt, punt, and a
- 9:56Speaker 1: half fumble, a couple more punts. Just couldn't get that
- 9:58Speaker 1: offense going. And I think that's predicated on just all
- 10:02Speaker 1: the missing and moving pieces. And I think Ray hit
- 10:04Speaker 1: it on the head. It seems like the Cardinals just
- 10:07Speaker 1: had every answer to the test, Like whatever the Hawks did,
- 10:10Speaker 1: there was a counter for it, and they were calling
- 10:12Speaker 1: blitz is at the right time. It just seemed like
- 10:14Speaker 1: they were one move ahead of the Hawks all day. Yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 1: it was tough man. And then I think when you
- 10:18Speaker 1: lose process and you lose Carson and the Homer. I mean,
- 10:21Speaker 1: obviously they're really high on Homer, and I think Homer
- 10:23Speaker 1: can be a really good football player. But that's tough man.
- 10:26Speaker 1: That's tough to now step in that situation where you're
- 10:28Speaker 1: getting all the reps and you would know this bump
- 10:31Speaker 1: when you're when you're now asked to play a lot
- 10:33Speaker 1: on offense, when you're on all the other special teams.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I mean, it's a lot to handle for a young kid.
- 10:37Speaker 1: And also when you get behind and you're playing from behind,
- 10:40Speaker 1: the whole everything got out of whack. I mean, coaches
- 10:42Speaker 1: talked about all the time, right, don't get behind the sticks,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and it felt like they were behind the sticks the
- 10:47Speaker 1: entire afternoon, behind the sticks, and they were like one
- 10:49Speaker 1: for twelve on third downs. You know, it's just you
- 10:53Speaker 1: can't go one for twelve on third downs. You can't
- 10:55Speaker 1: give up long drives like they did. They got it
- 10:57Speaker 1: close within seven, but then gave up a nine place
- 11:00Speaker 1: seventy eight yard um touchdown. It's it was just it
- 11:04Speaker 1: was like a bad dream. Everything that could go wrong
- 11:06Speaker 1: went wrong. Both sides goes down, Carson goes down, Dwayne's
- 11:10Speaker 1: not there, Potty had a stinger, she kills out. Jamarco
- 11:16Speaker 1: didn't have his greatest game. He finally looked like a rookie,
- 11:19Speaker 1: like a young guy, you know. So, um, it was
- 11:21Speaker 1: just the perfect storm, man. And these podcasts are the
- 11:25Speaker 1: hardest to do because internally we know that they're gonna
- 11:29Speaker 1: be okay. Of course, like we really feel they're gonna
- 11:31Speaker 1: be okay. We're not making it up. We're not just
- 11:33Speaker 1: trying to be homers, you know, but it is real
- 11:35Speaker 1: we know they're gonna be okay. We've seen it happen
- 11:37Speaker 1: in this building. It was just a tough day, man,
- 11:38Speaker 1: tough day. And with all that being said, they're still
- 11:40Speaker 1: playing for the division on Sunday, got flex of Sunday
- 11:43Speaker 1: Night Football, So make sure you guys tune in and
- 11:46Speaker 1: watch the Hawks get this done. So now we're gonna
- 11:48Speaker 1: move along to our top performers. We're gonna start with
- 11:51Speaker 1: with Sheen Green had six tackles, one pass defense, one
- 11:54Speaker 1: tackle for a loss. I like seeing where this guy
- 11:58Speaker 1: is going. He start off the season really good, kind
- 12:00Speaker 1: of disappeared for a bid, but as of late he's
- 12:03Speaker 1: been coming around and making a lot of players. I
- 12:04Speaker 1: love what Green is doing. He's just consistent. Man, He's
- 12:06Speaker 1: been consistently good in the run game. He's been consistently Yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 1: he's just no, you're good. He's just been. It's just
- 12:12Speaker 1: one of those things where you watch him and it's
- 12:14Speaker 1: great to see a young guy like that in his
- 12:15Speaker 1: second year really maturing. He's great in the run game,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and he's had two block field goals, I mean, and
- 12:20Speaker 1: the one yesterday he could have blocked that with his chest.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I mean, he came through got skinny, did exactly what
- 12:25Speaker 1: you're supposed to do, and that was I thought that
- 12:27Speaker 1: was going to be the spark the Seahawks needed yesterday.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I always say he just just couldn't quite get over the hump.
- 12:31Speaker 1: But it's great to see a young man like Rashie
- 12:33Speaker 1: Green getting after it and Green getner done. Also, Bobby
- 12:36Speaker 1: Wagner left the team with thirteen tackles, one sec, two
- 12:39Speaker 1: tackles for loss, one QB hit. Has there been a
- 12:41Speaker 1: game where he hasn't been in double digits. I don't
- 12:43Speaker 1: think so. I think he. I mean, that's just it's
- 12:46Speaker 1: Bobby Wagner. So when you look at the stat line,
- 12:48Speaker 1: when you look at stats, you know, if Wagner's playing,
- 12:50Speaker 1: he's gonna be double digit tackles. And to me personally,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I thought that was one of the best games he
- 12:54Speaker 1: played all year, even though he had the ankle injury.
- 12:56Speaker 1: He just kind of looked explosive. He looked like he
- 12:58Speaker 1: was coming downhill and making players. So it always great
- 13:00Speaker 1: to se from Bobby b Wags get it done. Also,
- 13:02Speaker 1: a Kim King had three tackles, two pass defenses and
- 13:05Speaker 1: did a good job filling in for Shaquille Griffin and
- 13:08Speaker 1: that's a tall task. He's having the best year of
- 13:11Speaker 1: his career. Maybe Shaquille Griffin and Kim King has typically
- 13:15Speaker 1: been playing in that nickel spot in the inside with
- 13:17Speaker 1: a little more or less space to cover. So for
- 13:19Speaker 1: him to come out and play a decent game is
- 13:22Speaker 1: encouraging for sure. Yeah. The great thing, like you said,
- 13:24Speaker 1: he had a couple of past defense and the cool
- 13:25Speaker 1: thing about it too is other than the place you
- 13:27Speaker 1: saw him make, you weren't saying his name, which a
- 13:30Speaker 1: lot of times as a corner. That's a good thing
- 13:32Speaker 1: where not people aren't worried about you. You're not giving
- 13:33Speaker 1: a big plays. There may have been one ball caught
- 13:36Speaker 1: in front of him, I don't know if that actually
- 13:37Speaker 1: even happened. So he's playing lights out yep. Jacob Hollister,
- 13:41Speaker 1: mister consistent five receptions for sixty four yards. I think
- 13:45Speaker 1: they found their tight end. Obviously there's still Luke when
- 13:48Speaker 1: Dizzy gets healthy, but Jacob has done a great jaw
- 13:52Speaker 1: filling in. Yeah. I mean he's just a great weapon.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I mean he has now become your go to receiver
- 13:57Speaker 1: in that tight end room. All right, here's the even
- 14:00Speaker 1: round up. We just talk about Hollister had five catches
- 14:02Speaker 1: for sixty four yards. Travis Holmer had six catches for
- 14:05Speaker 1: twenty six, Malik Turner had one cat for twenty three,
- 14:09Speaker 1: David Moore had one for twenty one, Chris Carson had
- 14:11Speaker 1: one cast for twenty, Tyler Lockett one cast for twelve,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and Nick Bollore had the loan touchdown thrown by Russell Wilson.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He had one cast for three yards in touchdown. DK
- 14:22Speaker 1: Metcalf only had one target that game. Yeah, bump. When
- 14:26Speaker 1: you look at this receiver round up that we do
- 14:28Speaker 1: every week, the most shocking thing is to see Tyler
- 14:32Speaker 1: Lockett and DK Metcalf with one reception between the two
- 14:36Speaker 1: of them. And also, this is the crazy thing Tyler Lockett.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Usually when you look at this, you go and Tyler
- 14:41Speaker 1: Locket game, he'll have seven receptions one hundred and ten
- 14:44Speaker 1: yards in a touchdown on eight targets. Yeah, but you
- 14:48Speaker 1: look at this today, and granted some of these are
- 14:50Speaker 1: late in the game, that's kind of hail Mary type stuff.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But to see one reception in eight targets is just
- 14:55Speaker 1: is kind of stopped shocking to me. Yeah, and that's
- 14:57Speaker 1: a stat right there again that reassures me that this
- 15:01Speaker 1: was just a bad day. Yeah, he doesn't get eight
- 15:03Speaker 1: targets and I get one reception that you said it right.
- 15:06Speaker 1: If he gets eight targets, he's probably getting seven catches yea.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And I wouldn't be surprised if he goes eight for eight.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So it was just one of those days for the Seahawks.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And when Tyler Lockett is not putting up numbers decays
- 15:16Speaker 1: and not putting up numbers, it's gonna be a rough day.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So now we're gonna go to the coaches corner. Russell
- 15:22Speaker 1: Wilson finds Nick Belord for a three yard touchdown. I
- 15:26Speaker 1: backs behind Russell first in gold play fake dumping over
- 15:30Speaker 1: the top catches made touchdown Seahawks. A three yard touchdown
- 15:36Speaker 1: reception by Nick floor to fullback almost never used offensively
- 15:42Speaker 1: except to flock. This time comes out of the backfield,
- 15:45Speaker 1: runs to the front corner of the end zone, and
- 15:48Speaker 1: Russell laser right up over the top, and the Seahawks,
- 15:51Speaker 1: for the second week in a row, have scored the
- 15:54Speaker 1: first time they have the ball. Yeah, what I like
- 15:57Speaker 1: about this place. Typically when they do their play action,
- 15:59Speaker 1: when the Sea through their plash and say they they
- 16:02Speaker 1: fake the handoff right and they usually roll out and
- 16:04Speaker 1: look backside. This play right here, they go to the
- 16:07Speaker 1: play side. Looks like a lead lead stress play right there.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Russell fakes it to Chris Carson, but Lord does a
- 16:13Speaker 1: great job. He chips the end, sells the run, and
- 16:16Speaker 1: then floats into the end zone. Nice little touch pass
- 16:18Speaker 1: over the top. People. I think people take you for
- 16:20Speaker 1: granted how hard that throw is, because you could easily
- 16:23Speaker 1: that they can get away from him, and Russell just
- 16:25Speaker 1: dropped a nice little dime over the top. Belo a
- 16:27Speaker 1: fullback use his hands and cut the rock well, and
- 16:29Speaker 1: it's yeah, you're right. It is a short route and
- 16:31Speaker 1: that's one you can easily airmail or throw it down
- 16:33Speaker 1: at his feet. But like you mentioned it, he Chandler
- 16:35Speaker 1: Jones is the guy he chipped there, So that's a
- 16:37Speaker 1: big one to really sell the to sell the run
- 16:39Speaker 1: fake and then go out and catch it in the flat.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And it's good to see man Nick Blore's a jack
- 16:43Speaker 1: of ball. Trades the man us to play linebacker really okay,
- 16:46Speaker 1: And then he moved over he's playing fullback now. I
- 16:49Speaker 1: think he's I think he's had a bunch of tackles
- 16:51Speaker 1: in his career he's had a sack, he's now caught
- 16:53Speaker 1: a touch. I mean, Nick Bloor's a jack of ball trades.
- 16:55Speaker 1: He's a great special teams guy. So it's good to
- 16:57Speaker 1: see the fullback getting get a little love, you know.
- 16:58Speaker 1: And and you said the well back that's a dying
- 17:01Speaker 1: breed exactly. So to see to see at number forty
- 17:03Speaker 1: something and hitting in the end zone is lovely. So
- 17:06Speaker 1: the best thing what do we learn from this? All Right?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Everything is still in play. You win this week, the
- 17:10Speaker 1: Hawks win the NFC West. In all this world, I
- 17:13Speaker 1: think the hardest part is gonna be for us, for
- 17:15Speaker 1: the fans, for the media, it's just enduring this week
- 17:19Speaker 1: and turning on other networks and seeing them just trash
- 17:22Speaker 1: the Hawk. They've already been trashing the Hawks all year,
- 17:24Speaker 1: so they're gonna go in on him this week. Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 1: When I got home after our postgame show yesterday and
- 17:28Speaker 1: turned on Sports Center, I'm just like, here we go
- 17:31Speaker 1: and then the whole doom and gloom. And they're not
- 17:33Speaker 1: as close as the team obviously as me and you are.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Anyone listening to this podcast who follows his team lives
- 17:38Speaker 1: the breeds and dies with this team. So we know
- 17:40Speaker 1: the guys in that locker room and encouraging stuff from
- 17:43Speaker 1: Pete Today. He thinks JD's gonna come back to Devin Clowney.
- 17:46Speaker 1: He thinks Shaquille Griffin could come back. Diggs is still
- 17:49Speaker 1: gonna be a toss up. But if you have those guys.
- 17:51Speaker 1: We saw what Clowney did against the forty nine ers
- 17:53Speaker 1: the first time. Yeah. Yeah. And then it's the leadership.
- 17:56Speaker 1: You got Pete Carroll, there's one championships in college, he's
- 18:00Speaker 1: done it in the NFL. Do you have Russell Wilson,
- 18:02Speaker 1: the most positive and maybe mentally tough dude that I've
- 18:05Speaker 1: ever met. You got those two guys leading the charge.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It has to filter throughout the locker room. So I'm
- 18:12Speaker 1: encouraged by just having those two guys in the building alone.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Of course, you need confidence like that, and those two
- 18:19Speaker 1: leaders are definitely I would not if I had to
- 18:21Speaker 1: put if I had to put more from my house,
- 18:24Speaker 1: I would want those two to be in charge it
- 18:26Speaker 1: because those are the guys that are just rock solid. Yes, sir,
- 18:28Speaker 1: it's time to shock the world. Let's go twelve, stand tall,
- 18:32Speaker 1: be positive. Nimes are coming into town. Primetime football. They'll
- 18:35Speaker 1: get it done. It's been real. It's Michael Bombas along
- 18:38Speaker 1: with my producer Nasa Troby. This is Hawk Talk recap aetition.
- 18:41Speaker 1: The Hawks fall to the Cardinals, but they can still
- 18:43Speaker 1: win the NFC West. Well, I'll let you next time.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Thanks for listening. A moment in sin it clim
