- 0:01Speaker 1: Taking a Walk Nashville.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hi all, this is Sarah Harrelson, your host of Taking
- 0:05Speaker 2: a Walk Nashville Today. Joining me is Buzz night from
- 0:10Speaker 2: Taking a Walk, and we're going to discuss some upcoming
- 0:13Speaker 2: events and shows happening here in Nashville. How are you, buzz?
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm doing great. Thanks for letting me pop my head in.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Far away from outside of Boston, but close enough to
- 0:26Speaker 1: be with you on Taking a Walk Nashville. Thanks Sarah, Yeah,
- 0:30Speaker 1: close enough to.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Be peaking about what's coming up here in Nashville. Oh.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You know what, when you every time you go through
- 0:36Speaker 1: this list, it makes me want to hit the Logan
- 0:39Speaker 1: Airport and hop on a plane.
- 0:42Speaker 2: So on we want to flight away. But definitely have
- 0:46Speaker 2: a lot of great events coming on this week. For
- 0:49Speaker 2: November twenty fourth, we mentioned last time that Stephen Wilson
- 0:55Speaker 2: Junior is playing at the Ryeman and he's back on
- 0:57Speaker 2: the twenty fourth for a second night concert.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Well, Steven Wilson sounds like a force to be reckoned with,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and it sounds like he is coming back home for
- 1:08Speaker 1: these shows to really just sort of say I'm back
- 1:12Speaker 1: and I'm bigger than ever. And you know, if anybody's
- 1:16Speaker 1: listening that is in the Stephen Wilson Camp. Come on,
- 1:20Speaker 1: Steven Beyond Taking a Walk and Taking a Walk Nashville.
- 1:24Speaker 1: We'd love to have you.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, please join us. There's so many other events happening
- 1:30Speaker 2: this week too, though, one that I'm really looking forward
- 1:34Speaker 2: to is Dylan Altman Soul stew This is happening November
- 1:39Speaker 2: twenty sixth at the Analog and the Hunt Hotel. I
- 1:42Speaker 2: love this venue. It's cozy, it's intimate, as couches all
- 1:46Speaker 2: around the stage, and it always sounds really good in there.
- 1:49Speaker 2: But Dylan Altman's he's a songwriter. He's been here in
- 1:53Speaker 2: Nashville since the nineties. He would be another great guest
- 1:57Speaker 2: on Taking a Walk Nashville. But he said three number
- 2:01Speaker 2: one songs with Tim McGraw, Jake Gohen, and Jason Alden.
- 2:06Speaker 2: But he also hosts a YouTube show and if you
- 2:09Speaker 2: haven't seen it, it's truly great. He performs with the
- 2:13Speaker 2: band and then he takes a break, cook something, teaches
- 2:16Speaker 2: everyone a recipe, and then goes back to performing. So
- 2:21Speaker 2: that's the name of this event at the Analog, Dylan
- 2:24Speaker 2: Altman Soul stew And if you purchase a ticket, you
- 2:28Speaker 2: also get fifteen percent off your meal at Evelyn's, the
- 2:32Speaker 2: restaurant in the Hutton Hotel.
- 2:34Speaker 1: All right, we now where's the Hunton located.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It's on West End.
- 2:39Speaker 1: All right. It sounds like I have not been there,
- 2:41Speaker 1: and it sounds like it's a place I got to
- 2:43Speaker 1: check out. So it sounds goo.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's a fun venue. Yeah. I've performed at the Analog
- 2:48Speaker 2: a few times and it's truly a great intimate venue.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I think what's so cool about doing this is we're
- 2:55Speaker 1: not only celebrating those that might be in and around
- 2:58Speaker 1: the Nashville area listening to this, but there's so many
- 3:01Speaker 1: people from all over the country that have either been
- 3:04Speaker 1: to Nashville or planning a trip. So we like wetting
- 3:10Speaker 1: your appetite wherever you are to get to Nashville quickly
- 3:15Speaker 1: check these venues out, support these artists and support that
- 3:19Speaker 1: music community.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah, there's music every corner that you turn in Nashville.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Always so much going on, so much happening at the Rhyman.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Like we talked about, it looks like we have rock
- 3:36Speaker 2: and roll playhouse. The Last Waltz at the Nashville Theater
- 3:40Speaker 2: on November twenty third. Is there anything that's sticking out
- 3:45Speaker 2: to you, Buzz for what's on this week's concert calendar?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Well, the last Waltz event sounds interesting, so I'm gathering
- 3:54Speaker 1: since the last Waltz occurred right around Thanksgiving, the famous
- 4:00Speaker 1: event at Winterland in San Francisco, with so many great artists,
- 4:05Speaker 1: the band and Joni Mitchell, and if it allows all
- 4:10Speaker 1: different aspects of celebrating that concert, one of the great
- 4:16Speaker 1: concert films to this day. Martin Scorsese, by the way,
- 4:20Speaker 1: is the director of that. But it sounds like a
- 4:24Speaker 1: great take. I think people should check it out.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And oh, there's another event at the Ryman on Sunday,
- 4:31Speaker 2: November twenty third, with Noah Guthrie and Nathan Graham.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Buzz.
- 4:37Speaker 2: What do you know about Noah Guthrie.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Well, let's see, I'm going to go to Claude dot
- 4:41Speaker 1: Ai and see. I don't know if he's related to
- 4:45Speaker 1: Rlow and Woody, but okay. Noah Guthrie is an American
- 4:51Speaker 1: singer songwriter from South Carolina whose sound has been compared
- 4:54Speaker 1: to Chris Stapleton with his country rock grit with the
- 4:58Speaker 1: authenticity of isbel. Here's some highlights about him. He's released
- 5:03Speaker 1: three critically acclaimed albums, built a strong following through powerful
- 5:07Speaker 1: live performances. Performs both as a solo artist and with
- 5:11Speaker 1: his band Good Trouble, and he's open for major artists
- 5:16Speaker 1: including Ed Shearon, Willie Nelson, and Dwight Yoakum.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, definitely gonna have to check him out.
- 5:25Speaker 1: That.
- 5:25Speaker 2: That's a major list of people he has opened for.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Oh, I got one more about him, Sarah. He's known
- 5:32Speaker 1: for playing this one. This one really blows me away.
- 5:36Speaker 1: He's known for playing Roderick Meeks in the final season
- 5:40Speaker 1: of Glee.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Really yeah, I don't have to go back and watch that.
- 5:46Speaker 2: It's been a while since I.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Seen that show. So he's he's developed the real persona here.
- 5:52Speaker 1: So this sounds like a good one to single out.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and there's one more event I have to tell
- 5:58Speaker 2: you about, buzz. This looks very interesting. If you like
- 6:03Speaker 2: intertwining fitness and music, this one is for you. On Sunday,
- 6:08Speaker 2: November thirtieth at the Shermerhorn Symphony Center at seven pm,
- 6:13Speaker 2: they're doing an event called Orchestrally Energized Yoga. So they're
- 6:21Speaker 2: doing like a wellness series where the symphony is playing
- 6:25Speaker 2: and then you can, I guess, bring your yoga mat
- 6:29Speaker 2: and do a vignosa class synchronized with the Nashville Symphony.
- 6:36Speaker 2: So that's pretty interesting. Instead of sitting down just listening
- 6:39Speaker 2: to music, you can move and flow with the music.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I think it sounds like the perfect recipe from having
- 6:46Speaker 1: too much turkey around Thanksgiving.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess that's why they're doing it after Thanksgiving.
- 6:52Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Very smart. Okay, well, maybe maybe that will become an
- 6:58Speaker 1: maybe it is an annual event. That sounds like a
- 7:00Speaker 1: good take as well.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, definitely check that out. It looks like they've
- 7:05Speaker 2: done it before. But yeah, bring your yoga matt and
- 7:09Speaker 2: grab a ticket.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Well there you are, once again proving how great Nashville
- 7:15Speaker 1: is and what it brings to the table, even when
- 7:18Speaker 1: we have never imagined such a thing.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Absolutely, yeah, it never ceases to amaze me or surprise
- 7:25Speaker 2: me everything that's going on here in Nashville. So everyone,
- 7:30Speaker 2: that's your weekly concert calendar for the week of November
- 7:35Speaker 2: twenty four to thirtieth. Thank you Buzz for coming on
- 7:38Speaker 2: and talking all about Nashville events with me.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Well, thanks for having me on, Sarah, and thanks for
- 7:45Speaker 1: taking a walk Nashville
