Because from now until post like until New Year's. Yeah. Basically. I think that when I had football kickoff in September, that was my like, because it's like the pumpkin spice. Yeah, yeah. It's fall. Football because I love football. It just is like the most wonderful time of the year. Cheese and wine season. Cheese and wine. It's just all of the things. Pear flavored things. Yes. Apple flavored things. Cider is it's pumpkin. It's cider month this month. my god. October is national cider month. So I feel like it's very fitting. Yeah. All of it. So happy October, y'all. Happy October. It's when we thrive. It is. Yeah. It is our time, man. It is. Yes. Yeah. Currently, as of this airing, I am in New England. Yeah. Don't know where, I'm not sure what day it is, but I'm somewhere. You're there. I could be in Salem. Yeah. Could I be in Vermont? I don't know. We'll see. I mean, no, but aren't you just I feel like you're just getting there today. What day is it? October second or first? What hang on. What day do you leave? We're recording in the past. yes, I'm flying into New York City. There you go. So yeah. And I will have just gotten back from my lake trip. And I have a date with the Harry Styles. Which I can't wait to hear all about that. I feel like when you come back and we record our episodes, that's gonna be like towards the end of October. Yeah. But we're gonna not have recorded for so long because we're both out of town that it's gonna be one of those where we like it's way too much fucking bullshit going on between us. Buckle up buttercups. Those happen occasionally. Your November's episode November's episodes? Your November episodes are gonna be I predict something. A lot of booze and a lot of you know. Hopefully we'll get that movie night by then. Jesus Christ. That absolutely fucking not won't happen by the time I I mean, who knows. No, like post like at that point in time in reality. Okay. Maybe we'll get our movie night. A girl can dream. I can. We were just discussing if we were gonna go see practical magic or not. Yeah, the second one comes out today in the past. Yeah. It is September tenth here. and we were we talked about going, but it just I'm tired. I'm tired. I can't make a seven PM movie tonight. I'm gonna make chicken masala for dinner and sit. I'm making crunch wraps. Yeah, like homemade crunch wraps. Leia's been asking for them. So those are good. Yeah. She loves them. They're easy. So it's like one of those whatever. but you know, yeah. We are but I wanna see the movie. Hopefully we have seen it. I mean, I will have seen it by then. We're just debating if we make the effort to go see it this weekend or if we wait till we can watch it at home on our couch. But it's one of my all time favorite movies, so I feel like I wanna see it, but then I'm also like If I waste twenty dollars and disappointed. But would we rather spend that twenty dollars on Taco Bell? Yes, we would absolutely rather spend it on Taco Bell. But then I also want to see it. So I'm like soon. So I'm torn. I know. So we'll see what happens. I wonder when it will be streaming. I know. I'll look it up. We'll find out. Anyways. All right. You have a joke for us because we were in between recording. She said it's so stupid. So stupid. Okay, I'm ready. What is the difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi? What? People in Dubai don't watch the Flintstones, but people in Abu Dhabi do. Wonderful. So stupid. It was so stupid. So stupid. God. well, there you go. But if you got any better jokes, send them through, guys. Every once in a while we both get a good one. Last week years was really good. Yeah, it was. Whatever that was. God, you did one too, the redneck one that you did a few weeks ago was solid. I can't remember it now. I don't remember. But it was a good one. It's that amnesia. That's Amnesia is the worst. The worst. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Well, hello and welcome to Lunatic Soup, the podcast where we go into all things wild, weird, and unknown. We're your host, Meg. And I'm Raina, ready to rope some Lunatic Soup. Let's go. What are we drinking today? We you tell me, what are we drinking? You brought It's very on brand for our episode. I love it. I'm also turning on our Ghost Tube app as we speak while we're which the last episode, if you listened to it last week, was Very chatty, had a lot to say. Yes. And on very chatty. And was very like I'm not from here, it says. Okay. Well, starting off strong. Well, this whole episode I intentionally planned. I intentionally picked this cider. You've had it for a while. And I I did this because one of the things I'm doing when I'm in New York is going to this location. Fun. So without further further ado, our cider, it is Angry Orchard, forgive us. But it is the headless pumpkin. I love it. Have we ever done an Angry Orchard? Yeah, we have. We have. I think so. Because this was part of the this special Halloween pack and w they they had it last year too. okay. Yeah. I just can't remember what I'm They actually ghost face cider that we're that's from Angry Orchard for Halloween. Yeah. Later. This is Halloween. This is Halloween. There's a kitten in front of us. We have I left my garage door open because our studio's in my garage and I my dog is in here and one of my cats, which she's about to raise hell. If anything starts coming off the shelves, it's the cat, not a ghost. And she probably would she is out of control. She is. All right. This I'm I do fear this might be pretty sweet because it is Angry Orchard. But it is Angry Orchard Headless Pumpkin five percent. And it's part of that new Halloween pack that they have. It's first pumpkin cider of the year. Pumpkin cider? It's pumpkin? Well, I am assuming with the headless pumpkin. you're right. Okay. See. All right. She's doesn't smell good. Going in a drawer. It does not smell good. I don't think it tastes bad. that's actually quite lovely. Yeah. It's a very mild pumpkin. Mild pumpkin. it's not like a bit of a bitter aftertaste. But it's not like our chiter that we usually have. Not mad. No. That's that's surprising. Very like now that I sit with it, it is very pumpkin y aftertaste. The aftertaste is like The aftertaste is pumpkin. Pumpkin. The initial is not. Yeah, but it's like a hint of pumpkin. I don't I don't even know. Is it my favorite? No. Is it horrible? Is it drinkable? Definitely. We've had pumpkin ciders that aren't drinkable. Do you want to put lime in it? I think so. Let me know how it tastes. I will. You're usually the one who does it and I I'm hesitant. I just felt like a tiny bit. A wee bit of lime. A wee bit. The aftertaste is what honestly what's gonna get me. Because it is the aftertaste is I don't enjoy as much. I don't think it's that bad. I think it rounds out the pumpkin. Stalker. Stalker. I'm not a stalker. We were gonna talk about. Some I guess you could call them soccer. How is it with the lime? I mean, I don't know, I didn't put too much in. It is the like, I feel like to me the aftertaste tastes like I took a bite of raw pumpkin. Okay. Yeah. I mean it's not horrible. I'm not mad at it. It's not my favorite. Ooh, we gotta go get Gordian of the Galaxy. That one is my favorite pumpkin. That's a fucking good pumpkin. That's a good cider. And when's the last time we went to Fierce? Give it back. His head? no. It's already reading your notes. This is what happened the last episode. It was talking along with us for what was going on. I mean we'll see. pants. Poppy. my. Poppy is like getting into stuff. My cat. A menace. Mm-hmm. I was awoken this morning to her being placed on me inside of an Amazon box. She's one of those like, if I fits, I sits. She gets in every box. And I had an Amazon box in my room, and she was inside of it, and my daughter picked her up and set her on me. And I was like, at 6 a.m. I was like, Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. she's about to knock shit down. Yes, she is. shit. Jandy's, I know. Your your cat sister's. The animals. The animals are It's an animal filled episode. Wild right now. Well, we'll just we'll just go. The dog got scared and she had to come sit with her mama. She needed her mother. so we are if you haven't figured it out by now, we are talking about the headless horseman today. And not just the story that you know. Other I figured other instances. Okay. So the headless horseman is an archetype and mythical figure that appears in folklore around the world, not just in upstate New York. I didn't know that. Yes. The figures are traditionally depicted as riders on horseback who are missing their heads. Okay. I mean pretty self explanatory, right? And since then it is has inspired stories. The one you probably have heard of is The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I have heard of that one. Yes, and that's where I'm gonna be going. My daughter and I are gonna go to Sleepy Hollow, Terrytown. Yeah. And we're gonna kind of poke around before heading crying, it says. Heading further east. this is I remember do you remember how I said it had an opener and I couldn't remember what it was? I recall now what it was. I brought your daughter home from school yesterday. Right. and For the record again, if this is airing in October, but it is September 10th right now. And pull up in front of your house and you have your headless horseman out, as well as your two skulls that you made, which are amazing. And then next door your new neighbors have just two little skeletons, and your daughter informed me that it sounds like you guys are about to have a a decor off. I'm so excited. A not spoken of decor off. Well, no, because they asked me, they go, hey. She goes, Hey, my boyfriend is pretty into Halloween. I want to check with you that you're okay with putting up Halloween decorations. And I said, Hold my beer. I said, Well a cider, actually. It'll be nice to have somebody else who decorates perhaps. But I said to your child, I said, They don't know your mother because she will out Halloween them very quickly. I will. Buried. And I will spend Yeah, she's gonna bury them. I will. I will bury you. Jay Andy's. I just put up a little bit now. Yeah, you did have a few things. the here's the thing is that sep or Lewis hasn't come out yet. No, it's mid September. I do feel the need to I want some stuff, but I I am portrait. I don't know. I do want to get some Halloween decor up, but I'm not fully ready for like my full on skeleton things. But at the same time, like my kids are asking for it. But I'm not a pumpkin, I am not like a cutesy fall decor person. No. That's not my game. I'm like I don't I don't like the cutesy fall stuff. It's just not like I might do a Nice looking pumpkin here or there. Yeah. There is a local artist that I follow on TikTok. And she makes ceramic ghosts. Whoa. And she does the most insane. Like she found this old mold from like back in like the 40s or 50s or something. And she I didn't realize she was local sh until the other day. And I followed her for like three or four years. And then I will. so she made one. I actually was gonna send it last night. It was too late. Sh where she You know my phone's off anyway. Yeah, well she's normally holding a pumpkin, like the ghost is, I mean, and they filled in the eyes of the pumpkin and then she cut a thing and turned it into a disco ball. my And then she put flowers inside of it. So the ghost was holding a disco ball of flowers, which is not your jam. That would be not. No, that's Harry. I would totally take that. Harry in his disco ball. She puts florals on the ghost so it looks like it's wearing a floral sheet. they are the prettiest most like she does the most beautiful, like kind of fun, unhappy. I need her stuff. Yeah, she gets crazy casts from all over the place. Again, wild. She's like literally puallop. Wow. huh. And I followed her for years and had no idea. What'd it say? Heavy. Heavy. All right. I wanna see if she's at a market and go and I'm sure she is. Well she does. She does markets. I this again I just maybe we'll be at the same market. we haven't talked about that yet. No. we were gonna say that. Yeah, we were gonna say that. On October 17th. So in about two weeks from air date, we're gonna be at the Sumner Halloween market, the nightmare on Main Street. I believe it starts around noon. Yep. Collecting paranormal stories. So if you have a story or you just wanna come say hi. And you're local, come down. Please do. We will have candy. No idea where we'll be, but we'll have candy. We'll be dressed up. We'll have our our ghosty out front. Mm-hmm. Whoever that might be. No, we have like our our ghost. And then we'll have somebody with us. It's usually my oldest daughter. We'll see. Because my husband has to have my kids for the most part. But we'll see. And she likes doing it. So but yeah, back back to the headless horseman. So depending on the legend, the horseman is either carrying his head or he's missing his head all just. Justified. It is justified to carry your head. I mean, if you lost it. I guess so. And if you're not dead, mm-hmm. Wouldn't you we wouldn't w want to just leave your head? I guess not. I wouldn't. No. I mean that's kind of the whole premise of why he's so mad. Because someone cut off his head. Someone cut off his head, he wants his head back. I would be pissed too. He just had to use a pumpkin as a filler. Okay. Yeah. Adds up. Protect. Protect. huh. Protect the head at all costs. Mm-hmm. so the famous example of this stroke archetype. character include the Doolahan from Ireland who is a demonic fairy usually depicted riding a horse and carrying his head under his arm. And then we have The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which is a short story written in 1820 by American writer Washington Irvine. And you've seen this in so many things. what really like bolstered this was in 1949 Disney came out with The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Yeah. Which every October 1st My family. That's what we do. Every October first we get pizza. We get pizza. Will you on a plane that day? Is that No, I'm actually going tomorrow morning. so on the second. So on the second. Okay, so you get your Halloween. That's right. The first is on So today is the first. Today is the first. So tomorrow I'll be on an airplane. But yeah, because that's that we were gonna go on the first and then my daughter goes, No. It's your tradition. Don't follow me. Follow you. Don't Follow me. Follow her to New York. You wanna go to Harry Styles too? I mean You can time. I just don't fuck with her. Get some disco balls. Yeah, just get her like just make sure you pull your ghosty strings so you she can get like, I don't know, V I P or something. Something like that. Yeah. Do that. Do that. Do that. so then there's there's so there's Irish folklore, then there's Scottish folk folklore which tells of a headless horseman with a man named Ewan who was decapitated in a clan battle. On the Isle of Mole, the battle denied him any chance to be chieftain, and both he and his horse are headless and said to be haunting the area. Okay. There's Welsh folklore, which goes into the headless horsemen and women. and they're called something that I'm not gonna be able to pronounce. It's Welsh after all. Yeah, those are weird Can I see? I'm Welsh, so I should know. Just kidding. I am Welsh, but the fuck no. This one. Holy l let me let me give it a let me give it a go. Make sure to do that. Fenyaheb That was beautiful. I think that sounded more German than it was. That was a really you had the anger in there. With with gumpidence. I don't know, I don't know, something there's four. There's four. There's four horsemen? Four ghosties. The apocalypse? Are there four ghosties? You guys that said it before it said there's three the last time a couple weeks ago. And then if you add pickle rick I mean, we'll see. You know. and so this is the Feghebunpen who rides a sephilheen. Accident. So there's a headless woman that rides a horse without a head. Okay. And it's what I want. It says it's what I want. Yes. Brynn Hall in Lani Moi de Willywoo. That was really good pronunciation. You wanna pronounce that town? I think you did a good job. Spell it for them. L L A N Y A W D D Y W Y. Du Fuck? huh. Lanima de Dubu. Okay. I am so sorry. I don't think we have any Welsh listeners, so I think we're okay. I mean you wait, wait, wait, here we go. good. Here we go. I was hoping there was something like that. Soundamaudwe. What the f no Did it say did that start with an F? Soundamaudwee. Sal Sal Saldama. Saldama Lay. Sal Saldama Mm mm mm. Okay, you guys can keep that language. I'm good. I mean not like our language is any better to some people, but who knows? so Brynhall in that place, Seldoman. That place is said to have been haunted by a headless horseman that only came to an end when one of the hall servants like figured out a message from the horseman identifying the location of a buried body. And the body was said to be that of an illegitimate child fathered by the Lord of Brynhall. So someone who passed away had unfinished business, just wanted which that happens. We talk about this with ghosties. People they just want acknowledgment sometimes. They want to And I think you're gonna find that a lot in like UK culture like history and stuff like that. There's also the German folklore of headless horseman stories coming from the area of Rhineland, and instead of decapitation, the horsemen killed their victims by touching them. Stalker, that's the second one we saw at stalkers. Stalker. so the horseman would come and kill you by touching you. And then you became a revenant, which is like a zombie, but like a European zombie, who had to wander the earth until you had atoned for your sands. Damn. I mean, I guess that is kind of a stalker. Sometimes that's doing it, that's by doing good deeds for others. so if you are one of these revenants and you did a good deed, if you were to show your gratitude by shaking a hand, the stranger. held a tree branch out between them and the branch would wither and die rather than the stranger. So it you would say thank you, but then you would not be a revenant anymore. Because it would go to the tree branch is how I'm taking that. I guess. Then there's English folklore. there's an area in England's ceremonial country in Devon and it's said to be h haunted by a headless writer. The Authurian legend the figure is no in Authurian legend, the figure is known as the Green Knight, and appeared before King Arthur's court and challenged one man to come forward and strike him with an axe. And set warned him that he will strike them and Warning that he will end the year, end the season if he strikes him. That came out weird. I am so sorry. That was weird. He was gonna strike them with an axe. Yeah. And it would end the season. god, okay. Okay. That makes sense. And so Arthur's nephew accepted the challenge and beheaded the knight. Went to retrieve the head and remind them to meet him at Green Chapel to fulfill his other half of the challenge. So, like you you need to end the season. Whatever, it must have been a bad season. Okay. That's a weird legend. That is a weird legend, but also American folklore in southern Texas stories known stories are told of a figure, El Muerto, which has circulated since the eighteen hundreds. He is said to dangle his head from his saddle and his horse is said to produce lightning from its hooves when it strikes the ground. I like that one. That's fun. It has been speculated that this particular story of the headless horseman was based on another legend in which a man was captured and beheaded for stealing a horse. It says shot. This man was made an example of when his killers tried to decapitate his body or tried tried to tie his decapitated body to a wild horse and sent him on his way. So that decapitated head was on the horse. It went off. And Yeah. That. Okay. There's a lot of beeheadings. That's that. So we have The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Then we have the Doolanan in Ireland, and this Irish legend called the Doulahan, was rooted in Celtic mythology, and according to the lore, the Doulahan is originally a fertilit fertility god who insisted on sacrifice by decapitation. He was banished following the arrival of Christianity, but has continued to haunt the land. Okay. So if you see this horseback where r a horseman riding on horseback without his head, it is said to be an omen of doom. I mean, I think I'd be freaked out if I saw I think that would be terrifying. I I I I think if I saw anyone without a head it would be a a bit it might affect me. You think so? I would think. I don't know. I'm just throwing it out there. Just anything headless. I'm confused I'm confused too. Yeah. That just I feel like something without a head is So that's like the base. So that's just to say that the the headless horseman is not just an Er Washington Irving. Right. It's a thing that is all over the world. It is one of my favorite stories of all time. I did have a kitty cat named Ichabod Crane after all. My sweet, sweet Ichabod. Sweet boy. but that's one of my favorite stories. I grew up in the area where that story took place. I grew up in the Hudson Valley. We're gonna go back. I told my daughter we're going to the cemetery because everybody in that cemetery is somebody we're related to. I started just picking out names and scene and then saw people that I'm related to. idea. You should. Even just to like Record it, we can talk about it. I wanna know. Hey guys. Just do it over there, especially so there's so much energy over there and so much like It's old Dutch. I'm f I'm old Dutch. Old Dutch is what I am. Old New York Dutch. Well, I want to hear what they have to say. And that's I mean it's called the Old Dutch Cemetery. So Yeah, I want to hear what your ancestors have to say. Get out of here. Probably. You abandon us. You had your first generation of non New York children. Yeah, you horrible. Moved over to the PNW. I know the hippies. I mean, well not really a hippie. I mean, let's say I did go to Woodstock. Like I was You did, yeah. You were birthed a hippie. Just saying. There is a picture of a hippie van, and I swear to God, it looks identical to your dad. You sent me that picture and it looks exactly like your dad. That has to be my dad when he was about twenty. It is wild that like if it's not him, okay, whatever, but that just that there are people out there who look so much like doppelganger. It looks exactly like my father. Have you ever seen your doppelganger? Have we talked about that? No, but somebody has told me that they have seen my doppelganger. I saw my doppelganger one time. and what freaked me the fuck out the most, and I think I've talked about this before because I think we did an episode on doppelgangers or something, or we talked about, but the her mannerisms were exactly like mine. We were at a big conference and it was I was in high school, and it was like you went if you were like on ASB or whatever, or like leadership, and so I went in with which with a bunch of people and across this like it was like in a stadium, kind of like a big thing. And across the thing there someone pointed out, it was like, my God, that girl looks identical to you. And I was like, No, she doesn't. And then I was she kinda does. And then her mannerisms were so much like me that it was and I've never like forgotten it because it tripped me out so bad. And I we didn't I didn't go like find her or anything that I remember, but like I just remember watching her move and I was like, That's how like that looks that's how it's weird to see yourself. Yeah. Like, you know. I'm right here, it says your doppelganger is right here. No, please. But a real doppelganger is actually really scary. Yeah. That is. Like a spiritual dock doppelganger. Yeah. Because then that's that's something trying to pull a fast one on you. That is. I don't like that. I was like when you saw Mr. Boo Boo upstairs that time. my god. It wasn't him. That I that was I mean, you've heard the story before. I was laying on the bed, we were gonna record upstairs, and all of a sudden I see Tex walk across the the main landing. He wasn't there. He's picking up the kitchen sheer. And then he comes home and he comes in, and I'm like, What the hell? Like it was him. It a hundred percent was him. Tell you what. That was freaky, man. I don't know. And it was clear as day. It wasn't like a shadow or anything like that. There has to be something, or for a while was something going on in my upstairs where like you we could see things from my bed, because that was also the time like we saw the little girl where Tex and I literally saw her and looked at each other. We're like, We both just saw that. Like 'cause again, we talk about this all the time. If someone else sees it with you, it is much more like you can't be like, it was just my brain. Right. Like we ignore each other and we both said she was wearing the same thing. We're like, that wasn't one of our fucking kids. Yeah. Yeah. I don't like it. Like, I mean it just freaks you out. Why was the doppelganger in your house? Like what was the purpose? What was the purpose? maybe it was like a timeline thing. Do you know what I'm saying? So maybe it was him. And that's what 'cause that's what I've like cut. But it was a timeline slip. Yeah, timeline slip. That's interesting. So maybe it wasn't a doppelganger at all because I just like you said doppelgangers tend to be more like not good. Not good and there's a reason. Yeah. Where like we haven't had anything that's been like negative in that way. Like there's been stuff, but like nothing that's you know, I've had things and it just made I think you're right. I think it was a time slip. Because that's what I thought about with the little girl. I like, maybe it's someone who like used to live in this house and it was like or, you know, a Who knows? I don't know. I don't know. Anyways. Just food for thought. Anyways, back to headless people. Headless people. So now we're gonna go into stories. Like this is kind of like a wild, weird and unknown, but not really a wild, weird and unknown. Like we're talking about it's kind of how we did the Mandela effect. Like we're talking about headless lore. And then we're gonna go into people that people have seen it. So this is from Deleted, so I can't tell you who it's from on Reddit. And it says, Hi, all, I had an experience when I was younger involving a headless horseman. As the title said, I remember vividly being at a house I lived in. It's the cat. there was a sound. I paused. I just was making sure she's looking that way and not towards the Because I was like, There's nobody home. No, it's the cat. All right. So vividly being at a house I lived in as a child, roughly three or four years old. My other I'm assuming she meant mother. My mother and I walked to the pedestrian path outside the house. It might have been to take the bins out or something. I remember looking down the path and seeing a silhouette of a horse and rider totally black like a shadow. It might have been roughly three hundred meters away. In front of you, it says. In front of you. Three hundred meters away could have been four hundred meters. When I looked at the silhouette, it appeared the rider had no head and was in a canter or gallop. I begged my mom to l look and wait because being a three year old, I saw a horse and wanted to see it. But she didn't look and walked me back inside the house. There's four again. Four. Say that again. walk doctor back inside the house. The figure looked like it was coming towards us, but when we got back, I when we got back inside, I rushed to the window, but whatever it was never appeared. I don't know what to expect from this post, to be honest, but wanted to share to see if anyone had a similar story. I was told in later years we lived behind a racing track, but we were also in a highly metro area Not this is I'm reading somebody else. Please listen. We're we are listening. Not out. Not on the outskirts, but in the inner suburbs where horses wouldn't be seen just wandering around. Right. I have had other experiences I'll post later, but not related to this one. Well, right away I can tell they're either from the UK or Australia. Yeah. Okay, I was gonna say, 'cause they said bin. Mm-hmm. They said bin and they said it's written mum. I probably said mom. You did, but And they said meters. Meters. Well there you go. But yeah. So I had an experience when I was little where we lived in upstate New York in the Hudson Valley and we were riding home one night and we had a long driveway. And so I had to be five, I wanna say, and as we were coming up the driveway, I looked out the window into the woods and I saw a horse. And a figure on the horse. No thing. And it was it was it was like a lantern. Yeah. And I could see the lantern like bobbing up and down. And I, in my mind, equated that to the headless horseman that I was looking at. Yeah. Because I also grew up knowing the legend and it was like a big thing in my area. It could have just been a ghosty. It could have been a ghosty could Who probably could have had its head. Could have had its head. Who knows? Who knows? I just saw a horse and a figure and then this light Bobbing up and down. So I say it was my experience with the headless horse. I like it. I mean who knows? Who knows? Who knows? another one is from Ghoulishly Grim. I like that name. Ghoulishly grim. Ghoulishly grim. my grandmother grew up and lived in Sleepy Hollow her entire life. She died just shy of a hundred. She s she swore up and down that when getting home late one night When she was a preneteen, she and her half sister both saw the headless horseman in the adjacent woods next to their house. She would tell me the story all the time as a child. Her half sister is still alive, and she too is adamant that they both saw him. I obviously know he was created by Washington Irvine for a novel, but I have heard whispers from people that they have seen sh this strange appearance too. So he wasn't made up by Washington Irvine. Yeah. It was lore and legend. I mean, I also feel like just what we know about hauntings and ghosties and things like there is inevitably a ghost or a what's the word when it like records into the yeah what what is it called? stone tape theory. Stone tape theory where like something is like something trauma super traumatic happens and it records into the earth where someone is on a horse and lost their head. Well, and and that's kind of how the story went. There was a Hessian soldier that was in battle over here. He got his head t chopped off. His head was taken and he was buried without his head and he wanted his head back. Like his head and his horse were both killed. Yeah. And so he was buried with his horse and he rises up looking for his head. Yeah. And Yeah. That's And I mean and that's a you know, I'm sure throughout time, of all the battles and all the things, is a common I feel like you're riding around on horses with swords. Someone's head's gonna go flying quite often, I assume. Yeah. So behind you. I'm behind you. I don't like it when they say that. I know me either. Edward, look away. Edward, look away. yeah. So I do feel like that is something that when people say they've seen it, I believe them because I I do not doubt that there is like especially that's such a fucking traumatic being beheaded. That's traumatic as fuck. 'Cause you're probably there one second, the next second you don't know what the fuck happened to you're gone. And your head is gone. Yeah. Well I mean so are you. Somehow if you have any unfinished business, do you do that without a head? Or you just piss that they took your head? I'd just be pissed. Especially if they took your head. Remember that one time I got to hold a brain? Yeah. Yeah. Ugh. But they were donated. I'm surprised you didn't lead into that. That should have been the opener for this episode. Probably. Probably. in the comments, for this one it says I lived in sleepy holly f hollow for quite a while. I haven't experienced anything myself, but I know a lot of people who have had encounters with a headless horseman. And then one of the other ones goes into the Texas story a little bit, which I think is good to read 'cause I think it's more of a good story. Mm-hmm. there was a story of a headless horseman in Texas. Seems there was a cattle rustler with quite the bounty on his head. He was captured and beheaded No one wanted him buried in their cemetery, so they sat the body on the horse's saddle and secured it so that it would stay on. They placed the head in a bag and also tied it to the saddle and let the horse run free. As news of his capture and death didn't did not spread quickly, many men were still looking for him and wanted to collect the bounty. Seeing him on his horse riding along, they'd shoot at him, often right in the checks chest, and nothing happened. It was a corpse, after all, and we word began to spread about El Muerto, the man on those horse that wouldn't die. The horse was eventually found with the dried up bullet ridden corpse tied to it. The body was removed and disposed of, and the horse set free again. But for years and still at times today, people on the plains of central west Texas claimed to see the headless horseman riding in the moonlight. Yeah. Damn. That one's cool. That one is cool. I mean I believe that too, that they did like I'm I wouldn't that doesn't surprise me. They would just leave the body on a horse and send it off and be like feel like I mean that one's kind of like a that's kind of like a cool legend. It's a legend. They have fucked up things, you know. Fuck you done fucked up AA Ron? Done fucked up AA Ron. so this one is from Alabama. Alabama. Alabama. me and my buddy were riding home through the woods in Alabama. We were going down a rural patch of road on an old highway. We had been hunting that morning and we didn't end up killing a deer, so we decided to fish and grab some food. The morning hunt felt strange as if I was being this was strange. We just said the same thing, y'all. They said it in unison, which was kind of not But you know when it's like it can't say it at the same time as you that doesn't make sense if it like if it was AI, like it would say it after. We it at the same time, that's funny. So this the morning felt strange as if I was being watched in the woods. I'm a police officer and retired marine, so I don't get spooked easily. A pack of wild dogs ran through where my stand was. I kept feeling that burning feeling of being watched. It prompted me to leave early. The dark woods of Alabama is a scary place. After the hunt, we fished at the pond for a while before returning home. On the way home we ran into something I have struggled with since that day. It was exactly twelve noon when we saw it. Before I get into the incident, you need to know the history about Baldwin, Alabama. Baldwin County, Alabama. The Battle of Blakeley was fought on this particular highway. The battle was a bloody onslaught that occurred at the end of the Civil War and resulted in immense casualties. Now on to what happened. We were around mile marker eighteen. To the right, there it was, on the grassy embarkment in the curve of the road, just past an old bridge that we passed Stood a tall black horse with with a rider wearing black armor. It had black gloves gripping his horn of his gripping the horn of his saddle with a sword sword sheathed. The dark rider was massive in figure and missing his head. He was a headless horseman. The horse was abnormally large and was darker than night. The rider Stoically sat in the saddle, facing the road as if it were waiting on something as as if it were waiting for something as we drove by. Now I don't spook easily and my buddy doesn't believe in this kind of thing. As we passed the horseman, time seemed to slow down as I sucked in every detail. I remember everything about it. My buddy also stared in disbelief as we seemed to glide past it glide past it in the safety of our truck. Like some sort of s safari from hell. Now there is where it gets weird. So we pass it, I look back in the mirror, and just like that it was gone. This r in this rural area the horseman could not have come from anywhere or be headed anywhere that fast. My friend told me shortly after that he didn't want to speak about it again. He was shaken up by it and it wasn't until later that he accounted his story that we talked about his story and we saw the same thing. All up until we passed the horseman. His account was that the horseman was on the left side of the road and slowly walked into the center of the road and then disappeared. I saw him clear as day on the right side of the road. And then asked, Has anyone else encountered it? Some people say that if it was in black armor, it could have been somebody doing a civil war reenactment. But to just disappear like that Yeah, that's creepy. And it was a field where there were Battles. Which again, stone tape theory comes into play of where the land records fucked up things. And this was a police officer that told that story. So Me, it says. Me. Laughing. Me laughing. Laughing at what? Our faces. That's what it is. You're making fun of us? Your face. That's fucking rude. Have you ever yeah you've seen Sleepy Hollow, right? Yes. But a lot again, long time ago. Have you read the book? No. Or the short story? No. I love it. I love everything about it. The people in it were real. Like the Van Tassels are real. I'm related to the Van Tassels, obviously. All the Dutch are related. And like Ichabod Crane is not real, but he was based on an actual school teacher in the area. Yeah. It's really it's really kind of cool. Yeah. this next one is by Alpha Wolf sixty nine. Alpha Wolf. Sixty nine. Start me. Yeah, I'm going, I'm getting it. See the ghost getting impatient. I was born in York, which is quite infamous for its ghost stories and paranormal activities. I never believed any of it until this particular night. I can't remember. I can't remember what? Do you not have a head? That must be it. I never believed any of it until this particular night. I was living with my parents. We I hate that. We was all watching TV. They said they were from York, so that makes me think the UK. We was all. We was. We was We were all watching T V and kept hearing sounds from outside. It was the sound of horseshoes with a faint war scream. But every time we looked outside nothing was there. Until the next time we heard it, we looked outside and saw a dark, shadowy figure of a man on a horse. We tried to look a little bit closer by cupping our hands to the window to block out the light. That is when our face turned pale. The rider did not have a head. The door to our house flew open with a gust of wind and the sounds of the horfe horse feet echoed through the house and then everything went quiet. Nothing else happened this night, but I was terrified and never forgot how we all were after it. The second time I was at a youth club, we went out on a trip. When we got back I heard the familiar sound of a horse neighing and hooves on the floor. I was the person I was the first person in the queue. I was just about to go into the building when my teacher shouted for me to stop and not go in until they had checked the place out. I stepped back as they went in and I waited for the all clear. A few minutes later and something pushed past me and then silence. The scariest part of that experience is w was that I do not remember seeing the teacher when I left. So they assume I assume that means there was a horseman in the building. I guess the teacher went and cleared it. That's what it sounded like to me. Terrible job of explaining. Terrible job. The first one was good. Yeah. After these two experiences, I have not heard or seen a headless horseman. I have since moved out of York. I mean York again, like lots of I mean, every place has like history and things but like I do feel like again, there's a lot, you know. Yeah. And the same with New England. There was a lot of horse riding, especially during the you know, the early wars and stuff like that. Yep. The British are coming. Right? Yes. I mean that's Boston, but yeah. Claw review. That's a you that's a pressure shit coming. The British check coming. On a horse. On a horse. Running through the streets of somewhere over there. A horse is a horse, of course, of course. any hoodles. Yeah. The windows to the walls to the sweat drop down my balls it back. All these bitches, crawl. skeet skeet, motherfucker. the ghost said windows, that's where that all came from, guys. And we're back. And we're back. Choose to keep that in if you want, I don't care. It's coming. so the next is from Makinka. That's what it says. Okay. I saw a headless entity twelve years ago. When I was around twelve and I don't think this one has to do with a horse, but headless entities, we're gonna take it. Again they they're out there, I'm sure. When I was around twelve or thirteen, I went out. I can't hear you. Well, I'm s I'm sorry about that. We're talking loud enough. We don't know how to help you. I can't hear you. What? when I was around twelve or thirteen, I went out with a friend in the evening. She was the same age. After a few hours, my mom called me to come home, so I had to hurry. I chose the shorter path, which I usually wouldn't take because it was a dark street with only a few lights. I always had goosebumps when walking down the street, but I had to be home on time. I was walking quickly and got a few steps ahead of my friend when I suddenly had the feeling that someone was walking. Watching me. I looked beside me and saw something that I will never forget. There was a school next to me and I saw a man without his head sitting on a bench wearing a black suit. He was huge with long legs and didn't even have a neck on his sh only shoulders. No. Even though the figure had no head, I felt its gaze on me. I was frozen. I couldn't move or talk, only stare. It felt like minutes, but it was probably only a few seconds before I heard my friend calling me. I started to run without saying a word, but then I noticed she wasn't following me. I looked back and saw her staring at the thing. I screamed at her to run and she finally did. We ran for our lives without saying a word. When we got to my house, I asked her what she had seen. Her reply was a man without a head. She had seen exactly the same thing I had. The next day we went back to the school, but there was no bench there. We're both twenty four now and still don't know what we saw. Yikes. So no horse, but I mean, but again, seeing a headless man would freak you the fuck out. And in the comments they're saying it could have been the Dulahan, which is the Irish yeah horseman, he headless horseman. So maybe he maybe his horse was just grazing. Yeah, his horse was getting water somewhere. Mm-hmm. You know, doing horse things. There's other that are saying it could have been a different entity because they have seen men or women on benches. That they think were demons. And then the benches weren't actually there. Yikes. So I don't like that one. Could be. I feel like headless horseman is like again, stone tape theory, like a traumatic death that you see. But that I don't like the idea of a demon. Now that I know what a demon is a diamond. A diamond. Well, this one is experiencing experiencing a headless entity or a djinn. yeah. I have had many experiences in my life, and I mean many. Skull face. You use the skull face a lot in your text. That means I'm dead. is that what that means? What do you think it's I don't know? Dead. Dead. Or like fuck my life is kind of how it's like dead. Fuck. Now I know. Now I know the context. I just thought you were dreaming edgy. I don't know. Edgy? What part of me is edgy? but this is the only one about a protective entity. For background, my grandmother's house is in the city near a desert. It's very small and there's not much nightlife. Her house was a typical old older Pakistani South Asian house. We're in Pakistan. Mm-hmm. With a large opening to where most of the family would sleep in the summer on woven beds, as we call them as wo on woven beds. It was a single story house. There was there was a set of stairs that were covered with That were covered that led to the roof. And if someone was standing on the roof, you could see them from standing in the courtyard. I was around eight or nine years old during this incident. I always heard her saying that there's a ghost in the drawing room of her house, which I of course never believed, mainly because I thought it was a way to make us stay out of there. But one night while we were all outside sleeping, I saw it. I was looking at the sky, just waiting to feel sleepy. When I felt like someone was looking at me, I turned my face to the roof and there it was, a man. I could clearly see that someone was standing there, but it was too dark to make out any features. Then I noticed something. The body never completed. I stopped it stopped at the neck. I knew it could only be one of those guys in the house because I could literally see everything everyone and they were I knew it couldn't be someone from the house because I could see everyone and they were all sleeping. I stared at it for a few minutes. I started to get really uncomfortable and rolled over to my right side of my face to the main gate of the house that was next to me. I was convincing myself it wasn't real and I never told anybody. Heaven it says Years later I found out that almost everyone who had seen the that thing in my grandmother's house I realized that everyone who had been to my grandma's house had seen it there. I was never told that the entity was headless only years after the incident. Negative entities radiate negative energy. And according to my mom, she did not feel that and later on my grandmother's hang on. Remember I'm reading somebody else's thing. Negative entities radiate negative energy, but according to my mom, she did not feel that. And later on, my grandma said too that this was a protective spirit watching over us. I'm walking demon come here. It just said They're just like fickering with each other. I don't know what the hell's going on. That's a then it said Heaven. well, I mean then it says heaven in here too. Heaven I'm walking, demon come here. Wild. Yeah. This is saying that my grandma thinks it was something from heaven. and It's literally reading your notes. Yeah. Yeah. So this is saying that it was a headless entity that walked over that watched over the house and they called it a headless djinn. Damn. Hmm. And this says demon. Diamond. Damon come here. I mean, but we know that demon is a different like that's a Christian terminology, so who knows? Who knows? Yeah. I don't know, you let us know, little ghost person who's talking to us. Yeah. So do you guys have any headless horseman like stories? I told you mine. I don't have one, unfortunately. Never seen one. Never seen one. Never seen one. But I like your theory that it's probably just stone tape theory. Yeah. Because it's around places that would have had soldiers that rode on horseback at the time. Think got a lantern. Yeah. And if you were a soldier riding on horseback, you probably died by a sword. Yep. And what is the easiest way? Just cut off that head. Yeah. Just take that when you're running out of just see it in the movies and they you know and then have to be very sharp very sharp swords. I don't think i it's I don't it's not that easy, is it? I wouldn't think so because I feel like I mean your sword would have to be so sharp. So sharp. But then how do you not just cut off your fingers all the time? Your phalanges, I don't know. Right? Yeah or your leg. Like, yeah, you have to have it sheathed. I get that. But like even take it a little I mean I can never be trusted. I would harm myself for sure. Right? Yeah. Like not because I wanted to, because I'm clumsy for the record. Like I would not be I would not be good for me. I just thought it was interesting. Like we think about the headless horseman coming from the Hudson Valley, New York, and it's actually the lore has is from all over the world. Yeah. Mostly in the UK, but there are instances of I'm sure there's like even more than you This one was a ho headless entity from Pakistan. Yeah. I mean Th people lose their heads. People know what the thing is. People be beheaded. Hold on to your head. Yeah. And if but if people are beheaded, maybe they're like the happy place was on their horse, so they go heads will roll. Yeah. What song are you singing? Uhhuh. Love it. Uhhuh. It's a singer. Betrayed. Betrayed. Yeah, someone betrayed them. I mean chopped off their head. That would be an ultimate betrayal. Yeah, to chop off your head. Anyway, happy October, you guys. There you go, Headless Horseman. Gonna be gallivanting around sleepy hollow. Yes. Looking for the headless horseman. Headless bagels. fun. They a pumpernick. I mean he's a pumpernicker bagel, are you kidding me? What I love so much about being over there or like in that vicinity is they just can really play into all of the like ghosty stories, the like yeah, you know, witchy things, the like 'cause it's a history there. Yeah, and it's fun. Like a fun thing. Mhm. Brings out all the weirdos. I hope you guys are watching your spooky movies and I hope that Sleepy Hollow is on it, Johnny Depp. I heard they're remaking it. Like they're gonna remake Sleepy Hollow, which we've talked about what how we feel about remakes. not well. I hate it. We'll see. We'll see. Is it Tim Burton doing it though? Who else would do it though? I don't know. Like if it's not Tim Burton, then it's not right. I feel like that's one I my kids haven't seen that, so I might need to make them do it. Make them see it. Johnny Depp reprises his role as Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow Two. It's obvious. See sequel. Man, I don't But they're I can't remember. I've probably said it on here. The reason why they're doing so many sequels is because they don't have any ideas. Well it's not that they don't have ideas. It has to do with the budget that Hollywood is willing to spend and has to do with I can't remember. I it was a whole thing on why there's so many sequels that are happening downstairs. and it made complete sense when they said it, but I cannot remember what it was. But it also just was like, 'cause you don't get movies like you think about like w us growing up, like all the rom coms. Yeah. Where are all of those movies? Those like the comedy movies. The last really, really good movie I saw was Project Hail Mary. That one. Yes, very good. That was the last like really, really good movie. Punished. But yeah, there's a lot of secrets. There's just not a lot of like new things. And I don't think it's a lack of ideas. Like there's the we're in a world of ideas. We're in a world of like Are we though? Or is Chat G P T taking over everything? Well, there is that, but people still have their own ideas. People have brains that still And not chat G P T. AI. AI. AI. but there is there Even then, fucking use an AI idea for a comedy. I don't give a fuck. no, I do actually care. Don't do that. Yeah, don't do that. But yeah, when's the last time we had just like a good old fashioned ROM comedy? But that's kind of like what social media is. Some people use it as like, you know, they do like sco comedy skits and like Yeah. You know, they do like mini versions of that kind of stuff. Like there's a reason why Hollywood is not putting their budget behind these kinds of films anymore. And it's just I don't know. I don't what is it? What's the reason? I don't know, but it was there's a reason. I don't know that why they're doing so many sequels. So stupid. Well, now I feel like it's something nefarious. I don't know. Like something bad. After this we'll look it up. We'll Google it. Like like I don't know, like something's being held over their heads or something. Probably I'm I'm feeling a conspiracy on the rise. One thing I know is that if there is a conspiracy theory about it, it's all connected to something else. So that's what I know. Schmepstein? That or just I don't know. There's no way to know. Illuminati. All I know is I'm going to enjoy my spooky season to its fullest. please be good. Please be good. I know. It'll be a good spooky season. I hope so. Today's a new moon. Yes. So in September. Yeah, we're getting off of eclipse season here. So hopefully in three weeks time, two whenever this is two yeah, three weeks, I guess. We will be in the the positive energy of the new moon of things. Positive. That is that's all you can hope for. That's all we can hope for. That's all I can hope for. I hope you guys all have a great spooky season. Yeah. I mean, happy October 1st. I mean, it's not like we're going anywhere. We're still gonna be around for it. For now. For now. but all right, you guys. Well, make sure you go and get yourself some lunatic soup. And remember, in this crazy world it is good to be a lunatic. Happy October. Happy October.
