- Mark Workman: Yeah. Hey, welcome back to the Pioneer Mind podcast and the Mark Workman Show. Just ⁓ glad you keep joining us. ⁓ please hit that subscribe and like. That really helps us. ⁓ again, you know, we're doing this a lot of times just to pass on the messages that we want to encourage people with. There's really no money or ⁓ income side of this. This is just us growing the show and trying to grow the message. So it's free to you and it really helps us. So if you could do that, that'd be great. ⁓ you know, we're trying to do these shows as a regular basis on Thursdays to with the idea of curring encouraging you to kind of be your own best advocate ⁓ in your own health, to do your own research, to start reading, start realizing there's narratives coming at us from from ⁓ you know, big pharma or whatever you want to hear that maybe aren't necessarily true. And there are some things ⁓ out there that keep coming at us that kind of can confuse you because we're told certain things all our life. And that's what Kathy and I really have come to the conclusion that is that we need to be our own best advocate. We need to start researching, start studying for ourselves, and and learning as much as we can about the different narratives that are coming at us. But what's the best thing for me? What's the best thing for Kathy? What's the best thing for you? So we really want to encourage you to that. And these shows, we we want to bring in you know some nuggets here and there and ⁓ you know really be concise in our messaging. We don't want to make these huge you you know, ⁓ shows with a lot of subjects. We're trying to bring in one subject a week, trying to just to teach and teach and teach on those things. And today ⁓ we're gonna kind of be spending some time on the idea of what lies that have been given to us that we kind of just accept as truth. And when you realize and your eyes are open to them, it really changes the way you think and how you make decisions about your own health. So, you know, that's just a really big deal. So and in this Pioneer Mind podcast, again, I want to reiterate The goal here is for us to realize that pioneers start every story, and you can be a pioneer of your own life, build your own life. You can set off on a journey that changes the direction that you guys have ⁓ maybe been stuck in. You know, if you're stuck. But what I believe is that pioneers leave what they know to go to the unknown to find something better. And in many ways, you're building and shaping your own life when you start doing that and thinking that way. So I just want to encourage you with that. That's what the podcast is about, it's what the show's about. About, I want to encourage you guys to grow, mature in every way possible. So today we're, you know, we've talked about we're going to do a regular show on Thursdays, and we're going to keep bringing this to you ⁓ with ⁓ with Kathy Workman. She is ⁓ wanting to really promote the idea of being well within. So the well within is you know kind of her model of ⁓ and really that's how she lives. I I can just tell you that as a fact because ⁓ actually living with her and we have regular contact, she she really Cares deeply about it. And ⁓ so we're really going to talk about the whole overall concept of these shows is for you to be well within. And and and then that'll show up on the outside too, just in your joy, in your health, and your ability to move and walk and all those kind of things. So anyway, let's get going. And I welcome Kathy Workman to the show. Thanks for coming. Well, good morning. Thank you. Yeah, it's nice to be here. Yeah, it's nice to do these shows. ⁓ I'm I'm really gonna enjoy this process because I'm I'm learning so much about And realizing that it's not content driven, it's really authority driven. We need to have an authority about a subject and that our listeners trust us in, right? You're building trust, you're not producing content. Because if you're just producing content, you're throwing mud against the wall, right? So with you, I think in some ways you come with an authority and a trust, and and and maybe with new people watching, that needs to be built in you. But you need to know that ⁓ you'll sense it from Kathy today that there's a real authority and trust. And she is I, you know, again, probably obsessed with the subject in the sense of wanting to do more and more. So anyway, so let's get started. ⁓ do you want to ⁓ go ahead and just break down some start talking about ⁓ kind of what you want to go into today? And then we'll have a testimony as well. ⁓ where do you want to start? Yeah, well, ⁓ I think like you said, a lot of times I feel like a kinked hose. And then so this is the opportunity to go so lots of stuff. And when you're talking about being an authority, I'm an authority because I'm a human and I'm just trying to look at what makes sense. I've never been probably a super academic person. I'm more of like what makes sense to me. And so as I've gotten into this ⁓ health and wellness and the well within, it's just exposed a whole lot of things that are kind of exciting to me. So science, all of those different things are making more sense. And that's really all I'm asking you guys to do because. the things I tell you today, I might not necessarily agree with tomorrow because I look back at how my learning has been such a journey or a pioneering. ⁓ but I'm hoping that ⁓ I've seen such a progression in what I've learning and putting all the pieces together. I'm hoping to help people kind of be able to snap the puzzle pieces together quicker, maybe by just recognizing some things. So yeah, you we we get stuck in a a narrative like and just for me personally I You know, I can I can point to I can probably name ten things. I'm not gonna name any of them, but the point of it is you get stuck on this is the way I I was taught, this is the way it is. And then and what we've done as a couple, I would say in the last ten years is that as we began to check into hell things or even our faith, right? You know, those areas of our life too, because it's very important to us our faith and how we walk and trust God and all those kind of things. All of those things were we trusted authorities in the past that maybe didn't have the right motive sometimes, right? So motive matters, right? And and we're discovering a lot about our health, you know. What's the what's maybe the biggest thing you've discovered about your own health, what you personally, your testimony that you maybe thought was a lie before you were believing and now you don't? Well you know, again, I I look back at seasons of my life and I would say I've always been interested in health and wellness and all that. But then I can look back at pictures and go, okay, this is was this was produced Because I was using wrong information. I was following the narrative of the food pyramid. You know, and then I started looking like a pyramid and I had to go, hmm, there was a problem here. And so when you just start questioning some of the the narratives, and ⁓ you know, the other one is, you know, we all switched from butter to Crisco, like how do we believe that lie? Like we're gonna eat some motor oil instead of what God made from a cow, and even now, as they're demonizing the meat and all of those sorts of things, you just need to go back to some common sense. And so, ⁓ yeah, and ⁓ just recognizing. ⁓ I think you have a slide called The Big Problem. Yeah. Go ahead. But the big problem, you see all of these health issues that all of us have, and obesity is one of them. And I've been in the weight loss industry for over a decade working with obesity. I thought it was the problem. Obesity is the symptom of a bigger problem, as are all of those other things on the wheel, whether it's neuropathy, PCOS, erectile dysfunction, ⁓ acid reflux, skin tags, all of those things circle around insulin resistance. Yet insulin resistance isn't being addressed. Each problem has a pill that they're gonna give you, like this big bag of big bag of pills that they they give you and then they just keep you spinning on the wheel. We call it the wheel of torture or the wheel of fortune if you're big pharma. But if we can target the center, that insulin resistance, what's causing that, what is insulin resistance, that's where I think our power is and that's what I kind of want to talk about. Today and how did we get on this wheel and how do we get off the wheel? Yeah, getting back to you though, what's the what's one lie that you say you you used to believe that one you don't know? Okay. All the grains, you know, healthy grains. There's healthy carbs. So I wasn't eating sugar, I was eating healthy carbs. I was eating homemade bread, I was eating oatmeal, granolas. ⁓ that's probably one of the biggest lies that got me into the puffiest place of my life. Is the grains. The grains. And and because we're told to have that's the pyramid. Yep. That's the bo base of that pyramid. You need to be getting all these grains in and then really limit your your meats and your fats. And that's totally upside down. Right. Right. So, how are you attacking those lies now? How are you approaching as the res the resolution to solve those some of those problems? Well, ⁓ Understanding, just understanding what the biggest problem is. And ⁓ the other night I was on a science call and they said, excuse me, 270 million Americans are on drugs. Jeez. If we as a country spend over a trillion dollars on health care, I mean health care, why are we not getting better? We're only getting sicker. So that's first again, all of these things that need to be flipped upside down, these questions to be asked. Why are we getting sicker? So in this scenario, 47 million. Americans are on statins. Statins are to bring your cholesterol down because we demonized fat. That's another one of the lies. When actually we have to have the fat because your brain is made of fat. Right. Okay. And then we have 60 million people that are on high blood pressure. And the high blood pressure is becoming because insulin is a growth hormone in the insides of your arteries are swelling, which makes it hard for the blood to go through. So we're gonna put you on a pill. To lower your blood pressure, but we're not fixing the problem. Your blood vessels are still on fire. Right. Okay. So then we have ⁓ 60, that's that was 60 million on high blood pressure. We have 30 plus ⁓ million that have high blood sugar. Well, that's a duh when you understand what we're putting into the system. It's like if I'm putting water into my gas tank in the car and I can't figure out why my car isn't running good. You come back to the fuel source. So when we go back to the fuel source, we can understand why our blood sugars are boiling, literally. Well, you have a couple ⁓ little props here. Why don't you show those and let me just get to here and then you can explain them explain both of them. Like what you found out. ⁓ so when you think of juice, and this is just I don't buy this juice, people have given me their own junk so I can look at the the carbs, but Let's just say this is a a juice that and this is just a Lipton iced tea peach flavor. This has ⁓ twenty-five carbs in it, which when you convert it down, it's like four teaspoons or si six point five s teaspoons of sugar in it. Okay. That's a lot of sugar for a morning drink. That I'm gonna wash down this little muffin, but it's got healthy blueberries in it, so it's probably hard. And health brain healthy, right? Well, let's flip it over and start looking at it. And ⁓ it's got sixty-six carbs, which is sixteen and a half teaspoons of sugar. So now I'm gonna add my sixteen teaspoons of sugar with my other little snack because I just went into the quick mart, I grabbed a morning snack. Now I'm I I've had over 20 teaspoons of sugar, and your blood can handle one teaspoon at a time. And when you do more than one teaspoon at a time, then insulin is the number one hormone that comes in and it's trying to clean it, put the energy where it needs to go. So one teaspoon a day or one teaspoon in a cycle? One teaspoon one teaspoon in a cycle. So about five teaspoons a day. Gotcha. Okay. Without raising your insulin and your blood sugar th throughout the day. Gotcha. Okay. But when we're filling our system and bombarding it with 20 plus teaspoons at one time. That creates havoc on your pancreas because the pancreas makes insulin. So now the pancreas is o working really hard. We hear a lot more. I didn't even know what a pancreas was, but the last few years, ⁓ my brother in law died of pancreatic cancer, pancreatic this, my father died of pancreas. And I'm like, Well, we better figure out what this pancreas is and what's it do? Well, it's just a small little organ, but it pumps out insulin. Yeah. And I I can remember I'm thinking of the snacks you have there and ⁓ I'll get a coffee now and again at the one of the local convenience stores and ⁓ you know, once a week or so. And it's routinely that I am behind somebody with mi in the morning, especially because they're going out on a job, they're concrete guys or whatever. I can see what kind of they're hard they're workers, you know, that kind of thing. But they'll have two breakfast sandwiches, maybe a muffin and three drinks in their little thing. It'll be it'll be fifteen dollars and fifty cents, you know, and I'm just like That is super expensive. And and and you're telling me they're probably getting thirty or more carbs. Or teaspoons, right? Is what you're saying. Yeah. The average American is getting 47 teaspoons of sugar a day. And the sad thing is we're doing it thinking we're eating healthy. And that's the lie I was telling you about. I thought I was eating healthy because I'm not eating the sugared cereals. I'm having some oatmeal. I'm throwing in some. you know, some raisins or cranberries. I'm getting a little brown sugar. And I mean, I'm just totally jacking up my blood sugar. So you feel like this this energy surge because that's what it is. It's energy. And insulin's trying to get it into the cells of the whole body. So we have electricity throughout the whole body from the top of our attic down to the basement. And what happens is those cells get full. They get tight real fast. And that's insulin resistance. And when those cells are tight and full, then insulin has to figure out what am I gonna do with all this excess sugar? And that's what you know, 30 million people have high blood sugar. Well, no kidding. ⁓ so when we look at the answer to all of the problems isn't what's the fuel source, it's what pill can we throw at it? Yeah, that that's a big problem. Well, the other day I and I I I was steamed and I did post it. Which I had never hardly post on Facebook. And I think you everyone laughs when I do post actually, 'cause I just I have like forty six people that I know on Facebook. You know, some people have thousands, I have forty six or whatever it is. And and I saw this article and I think I posted it, you probably saw it as well. The post was basically they keep lowering the testing standards over and over again. It used to be one sixty over ninety or something for high blood pressure. Now now they've lowered it to one twenty over something, you know, they keep lowering the standards and they keep changing the goalpost, I think, in my opinion. When things were totally considered healthy 50, 60 years ago, now they keep doing it. But the motive is insurance companies can farm off risk. They can get rid of people they don't want to insure or charge them more, most likely, because everyone's terrified about not having health insurance, right? So they can charge that person more because they don't meet this new standard that they keep lowering. And then the drug companies go to a doctor, well, your your blood pressure is one forty over eighty. Well, wasn't that the standard? Yeah, well, we lowered that, but so you need to be on a pill. Sure. So we keep changing the standards, and that's some of those lies too. And it's hard to overcome a doctor who stares you in the face. The prime example is statins. So before the eighties, your cholesterol could be two hundred, three hundred, four hundred, and six hundred. And if you look it up, the stats are the higher your cholesterol, the longer your life expectancy. Because we know there are so many things connected to fats. And when I say fats, I'm talking healthy fats because that's the other big lie, is they pulled out the eggs, the steak, ⁓ the butter, and they brought in seed oils. Seed oils operate very differently in your body than the oils that God made, and those fats. Those fats are actually. Communicators within the body. We need those fats to ⁓ create vitamin D. How many people are vitamin D deficient? They're all like, ⁓ everybody's vitamin D deficient. Well, no duh, because we're not getting the fat. And when they take the fat out, they added more sugar. So it's just keeping that wheel spinning faster and faster, that wheel of torture. And we can see why we're spending a trillion dollars and getting sicker and sicker. And you're the authority, but I I I've read a little bit about the seed oils things, is a lot of times they're just waste products. They're a set aside that they go well, we got a tank full of this oil that came from this other process of what we're using these seeds for or whatever they're doing, but it it ends up being a waste product they gotta figure out what to do with. Right. Kind of with fluoride. They did the same thing with fluoride. It was a waste product, and we're like, ooh, let's put it in your water and tell you that it's good for your teeth. We got the kids at school doing the swish and spit. And we know that fluoride calcifies your penal burn your penal gland and then you can't think you can't think well. And your head doesn't work well. But anyway, yeah, all of these little things, it's like one little piece leads to the next that leads to the next that leads to a pill that leads again to that spinny cycle. And so if we can start educating ourselves, and it can feel very overwhelming. I had a friend say, Kathy, you scare people. And I'm like, Well, it is scary because they're coming at us from so many different directions. And when I say they, you figure out who they are, but there's some very bad ideas that lead to the next bad idea that leads to the next bad idea that leads you to a pill that leads you to a pill and they'll treat you literally to death. Right. ⁓ I just pulled out my mom's stuff and I got a whole it was like a whole menu that they offer you at ⁓ peace or at the hospice house. So if you have nausea or diarrhoea, you take this pill. If you have pain, you take this pill. And it's literally all of these different things. It's their little kit, they call it So now again, we're treating you to death till you die peacefully in your sleep or however that goes. That's what we all want to do is go in our sleep. But they're giving you the menu to do it. And ⁓ first they make you sick and then they make you feel good about making you die peacefully. Whatever. So the whole system to me is a little bit ⁓ scary. ⁓ we have 70% of the population is on meds. So If all of those meds have side effects that have more side effects, it's a very small percentage of people that are even operating in a way that because when you feel like crap, it's hard to operate at a maximum. Yeah, and it's hard. That's another lie, I think. We're talking about lies. So this is another lie. And again, I'm not trying to take away from your time, but I d I do think this is an interesting perspective. But I do think that when you're in front of a doctor, they're incredibly powerful. I I've witness family members make decisions I know they didn't want to make. They were it was like a peer pressure. You know, we always talk about peer pressure in junior high or something. There is a peer pressure in front of a doctor that they they are good at putting on you, number one, where you have the ability to say no. You can say no, I don't want to do that and I wanna go a different direction. And then they mock you most likely. But my point is there is a power there they have. And that's why people are on 14 or 16 or 18 different medications because you just can't hardly say no. It's really hard. Well, this is a perfect segue into John Grassfield's testimony, and we're gonna show his testimony on here. And I met him down in Vegas, and I I can't remember the exact number, but I wanna say he was on 20 different meds, you know, 400 pounds. The doctor just kept s prescribing and prescribing. So listen to his story. He's a prime example of what the system has done. To just him personally. Right. Not to mention the other seventy million. Okay, here's his testimony. Hi, my name is John, and a year ago I look a lot differently than I do now. I was over four hundred pounds when that picture was taken. I was about 370 a year ago. And I found this ⁓ protocol called the Feel Grade System. I went from about 370 pounds at that time down to 264 today. At that time, type I am still a type two diabetic, although at that time my A one C was ten point three. Now it is five point four. And they told my doctor said you're no longer re registered as type two. I was on glimpride ⁓ glimpride say these words easy easy tib timbide timide ozempic ⁓ isosorbide monostat ⁓ lo sartan furesamide chlorothalidine humilin R five hundred four hundred units a day maximum legal usage Dosage ⁓ carbidorol and rovastatin to name a few. Today I'm off every single medication and I went from 370 down to 264 pounds. Blood pressure 115 over 70. No medication at all for anymore. ⁓ If you're thinking about trying to lose weight, ⁓ give yourself the a chance with this system. Give it 90 days and you will see what it can do for you. I ⁓ at that time I was in a walker. I couldn't get around. ⁓ couldn't stand up for more than thirty seconds. Today I am walking, standing for as long as I want. ⁓ changing my clothes every month it seems like buying new clothes. I was fifty-eight size on my my pants for waist, and now I'm wearing thirty-eights. ⁓ still have another fifty pounds to go and I think I can get off ⁓ my ⁓ BiPAP ⁓ that I sleep with at night ⁓ just to get sound sleep. But I'm sleeping a lot easier too with all this weight gone. ⁓ that's my story. If you ⁓ if you are on thinking about getting on this system, I would say try it for ninety days. I have a money back guarantee that doesn't work for you, but I'm sure it will. That's awesome, isn't it? You know, and that I guess those are the stories that I heard and it just sparks in you like, ⁓ my gosh. There's so much possible. You know, God wants us healed. He gave us these amazing bodies. He didn't make us deficient of some pharmaceutical. ⁓ yet we keep throwing pharmaceuticals at that. And he's a prime example of all the meds they kept putting him on, putting him on, putting him on. And he used this simple protocol that I'm excited to share with people. And there's probably other tools you can use too. But this is one that I have found that's just two natural products that boost your natural GLP one, which means we God put it in there that we should be able to be satisfied. We shouldn't be having cravings all the time. Food shouldn't be the make biggest voice in our head. So when we can get that under control, we're not having inflammation, then we can add a little intermittent fasting in there. And the power of the intermittent fasting is when you're fasting, your pancreas is resting, your insulin is resting, your body is doing the rest of the jobs it needs to do. But what we do is we just keep filling and filling and filling and then we wonder why fe we feel bad. So we eat some more to feel better. And it's just again that vicious cycle. So Yeah, there's a quote that I like and it's something that I draw on a quite a bit with when challenges come. You know, what you're describing sometimes sounds hard. Like, you know, hard things aren't bad, they're just hard. You know, we want to make ⁓ bad. You know, as something's hard, you know, changing my life or whatever. But you know, there's a quote by ⁓ Marcus Aurelius that says or Seneca, excuse me, that says the the obstacle is the way, right? You know, a lot of times we want to go around the very thing we need to go through. And it really is that way for our health. Don't you agree? Like even what you just described is a is ⁓ you know you you gotta you gotta do the hard work of learning and then changing and changing habits. Habits are automatic decisions in every situation with the same behavior. So if I'm getting grumpy, I'm gonna eat a muffin. If I'm you know, we we create these habits and we don't even know why we're doing some of them at times, right? Well the muffin works because you just got a dopamine rush. Right. And so your brain says, hey, next time you're feeling low, do that same thing. So your brain, I don't want to say your brain is lazy, but your brain takes a lot of power. Again, another reason to eat healthy fats. It needs the power. It's burning a large majority. I want to say 25% of our power is used by the brain. So the brain is like, I'm going to figure out how to do things as automatic as I can. I don't have to get up in the morning and wonder how to brush my teeth because I do that automatically. There's a lot of automat automaticity, they call it. So again, back to that. ⁓ you know, they've got us another one of the big lies is eat six small meals a day. And I told people this because that was a part of the ⁓ system that I was promoting. You know, the Jenny Craig was, hey, shrink your food, shrink you, and hey, that worked. Keep that metabolism go and eat six small meals a day. Well, you're not keeping your metabolism going, you're keeping your blood sugar going through the roof. Yes, your body You know, you're taking in less than probably what you were taking. So we we did see the weight loss, but knowing now that it was probably ⁓ some more muscle mass and ⁓ because the protein was also low. So that was one step. And I just so appreciate how God to s each step, all the things you're learning and some of the hardest things, like you're talking about the hardest things. Okay, I walked into my office one day, we're locked out of everything. The big corporation that I spent a lot of money to have a franchise said, ⁓ we went bankrupt. Took all our client lists, ⁓ cut off six thousand other ⁓ consultants and ⁓ franchise owners, took our client list, took their recipes, sold it to Nutrasystem and came back with the new Jenny Craig. Right. So all of these, you know, these big corporations are doing things like this all the time. And until it happens to you, you don't believe it. And it's the same with the medical. Like if you started listening to people Tell their medical story, it's the same story over and over and over. It really is. And, you know, ⁓ I'm pre-diabetic. They put me on metformin. Now I'm diabetic. Now I'm on metformin plus. Now I'm on metformin plus plus. Now I'm on, you know, high blood pressure medication. Now I'm on, you know, a statin. And it's just keeps that level going. So even when the hard and and I guess I'm shocked at how much hard will tolerate and get stuck in. Because we've been programmed to think, well, it's all part of aging. This is just how it's gonna be for you. Sucks to be you. Or what I referenced earlier is that I really believe the medical world and the narratives they produced are powerful. They're powerful messaging that most people, maybe the course of their life, can't overcome. Well, let me tell you a little story that ties with that. I have a gentleman, he's in his eighties, he's very disturbed that he has to be on this medication and it's costing him out of pocket. So he said, I'm gonna go on your protocol. And I had a doctor's appointment in six weeks and we'll see what happens. So he goes on the protocol, six weeks. He goes into his doctor. He's down ten pounds. ⁓ wow. His A1C was originally eight point six. It's now down to six point six. And his doctor says, Wow, that medication's working great. I'm gonna write you another subscription. And I said, Did you not tell your doctor what you're doing? He goes, No, I I didn't I didn't want to tell him. So he's afraid of his doctor. And he I said, Well, did you go fill the ⁓ prescription? He goes, Yeah, I I I did. And ⁓ so it's just interesting how again, how tied into it and we can sound like all resolve until you're in that doctor's office. And we've got to figure out how to break that. ⁓ I we often say if you start asking questions, you'll find out very quickly if you're dealing with a healer or a dealer. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Almost any situation where there's a system involved that's really quite powerful. And we could name all kinds of systems that are operating in our culture that you know that are very influential over us. But as soon as you and raise your hand and ask a question, ⁓ you know this, what happens? If I would raise my hand and ask a question against the system, what happens? ⁓ boy, out the door. There's your door. Talk to the hand. Yeah. It I mean it it it you can see the physical anger, the whatever. Yeah, you you know that you've poked the bear. Now. I know there's people out there saying if it wasn't for medical, I'd have been dead. And there is a place ⁓ you get in a car accident, they can put you back together. But even the professionals, I think you're when you were talking when your mom was going through her cancer and stuff, he goes, We don't really know how to help any of this stuff. So they're just throwing things at it. And the physicians personally, they're getting very frustrated. Anybody that's actually really wants to see people get better that hasn't succumbed to I got loans to pay, I got a boat payment, I got a, you know, they're really working for the ⁓ the what do you call it when they get a big kickback boost. ⁓ you know, they have well they have quotas and bonuses that they get by promoting this stuff and it's the system that they're working in. But there are a lot of very genuine people that truly want to see people getting well. And when they're finding this s simple system that's actually helping people reverse type two diabetes, ⁓ that's you know, getting them off of their medications, like you just saw John. And there's so many more stories like that. And the mission of this company that I'm a part of is to save a million lives. Amen. And we do it one at a time. This isn't ⁓ a product you're gonna find on the shelf. You can get it on Amazon. You're gonna pay more for it because they want to give you, we get about a almost a hundred dollar discount if you go through a distributor. And so they want it sold with education. Yeah. And that's the big piece of I'm always sending each week you get educational information to understanding it. Because if we understand how our bodies work, we're a lot more equipped to make good choices. One hundred percent. And I think the encouragement here overall is again, you know, if if I break my arm, I'm going to a doctor, have you said, you know, I mean, obviously mechanics, that kind of thing. But I know for a fact that what we have learned, and this is the encouragement with you, is that as we've done our own, I encourage the people listening today, right now, at the listening to the podcast, begin the process of being your own learner about your own health. And and again, don't even trust Kathy or or anything that I anecdotally I might add to it, because I'm I'm no authority, but I again I do read quite a bit. But it it's something that I've learned to try to do for myself. And it sounds selfish. Sounds selfish to say it that way, but it's not. It's really, you know, I'll come home, how many times do I come home and I say, ⁓ I read about this today, I read about that today. ⁓ that's very fascinating. There's a, you know, so there is a lot of information out there and to self-educate is really important. And then also realizing that the fuel, the diet, all those things are absolutely critical for disease and how you feel and how you operate. So, you know, again, we we ignore the nutrition and ⁓ fuel side of it. ⁓ at our apparel, but it's really something we need to learn about because we've been taught the other way. Right. Right. Well, I also think about how, again, we're fearfully and wonderfully made. What works for you isn't going to work for me. So there's no sense in all of us doing the same thing because it's going to work differently. Right. But when we get back in tune with our bodies and how does that impact me and my body versus I got on the scale and I was up today. The scale can become your jail. Some of the tools they have us doing or Okay, chart all your food and ⁓ you must have ⁓ gone this because you got this result. And it's more about getting in tune with, okay, when I do this, how do I feel? How does my body respond? And really getting back in tune with our bodies. Right. One of our listeners on the last one was asking about, ⁓ because we talk about this intermittent fasting, and I personally I don't have breakfast. I just fast through breakfast and I have two large meals. I have lunch and I have dinner and I don't snack in between. That's my ultimate, it doesn't always work out that way. But I don't want to get into the weeds because we're always wanting the exact formula. What's the formula? We've been taught there's this perfect something that's gonna work for everybody and it's just not there. So if your lifestyle is get up in the morning, have breakfast, enjoy your breakfast, just make sure it's protein. Give it a good source of protein, not the, you know, the cereals and the muffins and the juices. Those things are gonna spike you and leave you hungry in a few hours. So figure out what works for your lifestyle. And that's the other thing that I guess I love about this. And when I first heard about it, it was like it was almost too simple because I've spent a lot of time helping people work hard at weight loss, work hard at this. And it doesn't have to be hard because it's letting the tools kind of do the work for you and work them in your life. And you might go, okay, this isn't working for me. What do we need to tweak? And that's where I want to be available to my clients. Like, okay, what do we need to tweak? Right now, let's just add this simple protocol. You might be replacing one of these. You might be replacing your Coke. I'm not asking you to start drinking something. You're already drinking. Just maybe replace one of the other drinks. That's how it worked for us. You know, we had ⁓ I don't know, flavored water or something that we were liking. And now this unicity, it replaces that. It's delicious, it quiets the food noise. One hundred percent. Good energy. Well, this might be a good time to take a break and ⁓ do a little advertising and ⁓ promoting, but ⁓ this is you know, a way for you to contact Kathy and it's a QR code. So just ⁓ we're gonna take a little break and then we'll be right back and close out the show. And here we go. Make life better the Feel Great Way. I love that ad. It's hard to do that whether you believe it or not, in in terms of talking, you know, to myself, you know, it's kind of weird. So anyway, it's better be podcasting. So anyway, you want to share something? Yeah, I was just gonna wrap up with if all of the information that I've pulled together and my understanding is the two big problems with our health that are keeping us on the wheel are insulin resistance. Understand that, know what it's doing, know how your body works, and fiber. They took when we started processing all the foods, they took the fiber out, which makes your insulin spike all the more. So those two things, and that's what again, this simple protocol is you're gonna drink tea when you're not eating, and you're gonna drink this balance that gets this thick, like applesauce, that helps ⁓ absorb the blood sugars and keep you fuller longer so you can fast and do those intermittent fasting and let your have a body have a break. And it does the work for you. It doesn't have to be scary. The time I think any time people feel like, ⁓ I'm gonna go on a program, I gotta lose weight, it's scary because all they can think is I gotta give something up. And you're giving something up in an addictive state. They've got us addicted to these things. So it feels very scary to want to give up something, but we're actually trying to protect the very thing that's making us miserable. Yeah. So this tool is kind of like I would say your breakout of jail toolbox and it's gonna help you do it in a way, ⁓ that's not painful, not scary. And I'm here to walk right beside you, support you in that. And I'd love to see you get the results that the rest of my ⁓ clients are getting. Yeah, no, it's amazing the testimonies. We don't really emphasize that enough. We need to do better at that, talking about the stories and how people have been helped. And and again, like I another testimony for me is that I've been on an extended fast last few ⁓ last week or so and I've been just doing the balance fiber, two of those a day and you know, trying to rebuild my gut biome because I know that's messed up from antibiotics all those years, you know, that we knew I was on. So I'm still in recovery from some of those things, but it it really has helped me to get through this fast so easily, truly. You know, so ⁓ you know, the obstacle is the way. And fasting might be an obstacle for you, but I mean I'm telling you right now, that's the way. It really is. You know, so as we wrap this up, we're just so glad you came. Subscribe and like, please, I know I keep saying it, but it helps us And we can, you know, grow this message to encourage people to take care take ⁓ control of their own lives and their own health and create new habits and you know and really just find joy in life maybe for the first time because we've been stuck a long time. You know, and again, I always want to end with some encouragements and and one of those things is ⁓ is to you know, we need people, especially young men and and young people in general, ⁓ to begin the process of developing themselves in a way that is beneficial to themselves. It's not, and it is for other people too. They want to be the best version of themselves in society. But again, I encourage you to learn an instrument, learn a new language. Read books. Begin teaching yourself something new that you didn't know the day before. ⁓ step out, try things, right? ⁓ maybe exercise if you're not exercising, start taking care of your body, start getting creative, make something, ⁓ make anything. Get ⁓ you know, just learning to start being creative again because we've really set that aside in the culture in a sense of we're just kind of so routine-based that we've lost some creativity and the ability to kind of step out and and and be pioneers of our own lives. So I really want to encourage you to. Always do that. I'll always end every show with, you know, start reading, start studying, start trying new things. And ⁓ just want to encourage you with that. Again, thanks for joining us and thank you, Kathy, for coming. My pleasure. And ⁓ we're gonna do this every Thursday just as an encouragement, and we'll come with more and more information, new information. There's this could go on for the rest of our lives and we'd never duplicate ⁓ one ⁓ subject matter in the in the area of health. So we have a long way to go. So thanks for joining us and welcome. ⁓ welcome back for the next one.
