- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here now. This is a hypnosis session that
- 0:46was created for a client that wanted to be in a relationship.
- 0:50They were single and they wanted to be in a relationship and not
- 0:55any relationship. They had quite a clear idea of
- 0:58certain standards that they would need to really exist
- 1:03within the relationship and the dynamic and their partner in
- 1:07order for it to be something they would actually want.
- 1:10And I think that's really important.
- 1:11That's not a shallow thing. That's not a negative thing
- 1:15because actually nobody would want to be in a relationship
- 1:18where they're settling that they feel resentful or they feel like
- 1:22this is the best they can do. So having high standards is
- 1:25really, really important. But this particular client had
- 1:30felt that they've got into a state where it was becoming a
- 1:33bit of a chore to find someone, and that how they came across in
- 1:38like dates and conversations were a bit standoffish.
- 1:42And therefore they were reducing the very probability of
- 1:47connecting with someone that did meet their criteria.
- 1:50There's two key elements of that.
- 1:52Where do you find someone that meets the kind of high standards
- 1:54that you have have? And then how do they get to see
- 1:57the very best version of you, where you get to explore whether
- 2:01or not they're the right fit for you in this synergistic way
- 2:04without it seeing something like a job interview?
- 2:07So this is at its very core about being serious about
- 2:12standards and playful about the pursuit.
- 2:16And that's a very, very powerful combination.
- 2:20Imagine the opposite, someone that is kind of non serious
- 2:23about their standards, they'll take anyone but very serious in
- 2:26the whole process of finding that person.
- 2:28That would just be a very odd dynamic.
- 2:31So being serious about the standards, immovable with the
- 2:35standards, what your standards are, you do not detract from
- 2:38those standards, but playful about how you find out about
- 2:43that. And the interesting thing is, is
- 2:44that if you are genuinely curious and and playful in your
- 2:50communication, people want to talk about themselves, they'll
- 2:53open up and you get to decide if when you get to know that person
- 2:57better, if they kind of fit with the kind of person that you
- 3:00would want to be with. Now, I appreciate there's lots
- 3:03of different relationships. Some people are looking for a
- 3:08life partner. Some people are looking for
- 3:09something for now. Other people are looking for
- 3:12hookups. It doesn't really matter what
- 3:15kind of relationship that you're looking about.
- 3:17Standards are standards and they're your standards.
- 3:20They're no one else. No one else gets to decide what
- 3:23is attractive and what isn't. That's for you, but you increase
- 3:27the probability if it feels fun to kind of interact and kind of
- 3:32find someone new, particularly if you're single and want to be
- 3:36in a relationship. So if any of those connect and
- 3:39resonate with you, you might get some value from this session.
- 3:42It was created for an individual.
- 3:44Some of their criteria probably won't be your criteria and vice
- 3:47versa. So if you do like the idea of a
- 3:50bespoke session created for you, there will be links in the show
- 3:54notes where you can take a suitability test, watch a
- 3:58webinar about how hypnosis can help when lots of other things
- 4:02can't, and various other resources too.
- 4:04So check out the description for lots of free resources.
- 4:08For now, though, I'd encourage you to find a quiet, comfortable
- 4:12place where you won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 4:15Relax. And enjoy the session.
- 4:34Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:45resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 4:49And as you exhale, feel a wonderful sense of release, as
- 4:57if any tension, stress, or worries are gently leaving your
- 5:03body in your outward breath. That's it, Breathing and
- 5:10relaxation and exhaling tension. And just scan your body for any
- 5:19clues of tension, maybe in your jaw, your neck, your shoulders.
- 5:27That's it. Focus on those tiny muscles in
- 5:31your forehead. And as you breathe in, just
- 5:35allow yourself to breathe in deeper and longer.
- 5:41And as you exhale, give permission to really release.
- 5:50Just feeling like any frustrations, any resentment,
- 5:56any feelings of burden, heaviness, just allow them to
- 6:02gradually, incrementally leave your body in that outward
- 6:09breath. That's it.
- 6:14And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 6:20And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:26Each breath takes you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:33And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 6:41And I want you to imagine a wardrobe.
- 6:46A wardrobe perhaps, where you live right now.
- 6:52And I want you to imagine this wardrobe is like a Narnia
- 6:58wardrobe, except when you walk through the wardrobe, it doesn't
- 7:03take you to Narnia, it takes you to Rio in Brazil.
- 7:08And just keep your physical body there As you allow your
- 7:11imagination to think of that wardrobe.
- 7:15Imagine opening the doors of that wardrobe.
- 7:19And as you walk through, just imagine the clothes keep on
- 7:26going. And as you continue walking
- 7:29through and past the clothes, suddenly you appear.
- 7:35You appear there on the promenade of Copacabana in Rio.
- 7:42And I want you to imagine you're wearing exactly the clothes you
- 7:49would want to wear there in Rio. Maybe you could imagine sunshine
- 7:56and blue skies. Maybe you could imagine hearing
- 8:03the large waves crash there on the shore.
- 8:10Maybe there's the sound of other people on the beach, maybe
- 8:15playing volleyball or football, maybe just laughing and joking
- 8:21there on the beach. And I want you to imagine
- 8:26walking barefoot on the sand, the Long Beach that leads to the
- 8:32sea. And I wonder if you could
- 8:36imagine what it would feel like to place a big blanket there on
- 8:43the sand and just imagine lying there on the blanket on the
- 8:49sandy beach under the sunshine. And I want you to connect with a
- 8:55feeling of connectedness, what it would feel like to really be
- 9:04at peace, to think of a time when you thought of this.
- 9:09And now you're living this. Connect with the idea that you
- 9:13can fulfil your wishes. You did it here, and you can do
- 9:20it in different areas of your life too, as you lie there on
- 9:26the blanket. I'm going to countdown from
- 9:3012:50 and I want you to imagine what it would feel like to drift
- 9:34off into a dreamlike sleep where each descending number takes you
- 9:40deeper and deeper. Relaxed 10.
- 9:49Eyelids getting heavier that's it 9 Breathing and relaxation,
- 9:55exhaling tension, your jaw loosening 8 That's it.
- 10:02Your neck and your shoulders just feeling more and more
- 10:05relaxed that's it 7. Just feel your arms getting
- 10:11limp, loose and heavy, almost like your arms.
- 10:19The arms were puppet with no strings.
- 10:24Seven becomes 6 and now focus inside.
- 10:28Imagine your lungs relaxing, your stomach relaxing.
- 10:33That's it. Your heart relaxing, your gut
- 10:36relaxing. All of your insides are
- 10:41relaxing. Any anxiety or tension there in
- 10:44the gut just disappears as six becomes 5 now deep into the gut,
- 10:52feel how relaxed it could be. That's it. 4 going down into
- 11:00your legs, top of your legs feeling limp, loose and heavy
- 11:04down into your calf muscles. 3 And then two, just feel your
- 11:10arms and your legs all limp and loose there on the beach, on the
- 11:15blanket. And then one, just feel a ripple
- 11:18of relaxation all the way from your toes to the top of your
- 11:24head, all the way back down to the tips of your fingers,
- 11:29drifting off into a dreamlike sleep.
- 11:33And in that dreamlike sleep, I want you to think of a memory.
- 11:42Perhaps a memory many years ago. Maybe it was a relationship that
- 11:49came to an end, or maybe it was a time where you were settling,
- 11:56compromising too much. Maybe it was a date that didn't
- 12:02lead to a second date. But when you can think of a
- 12:05memory like that in your past, let me know by nodding your
- 12:11head. And I want you to drift back to
- 12:18that moment, to a point not long after, when you were on your
- 12:22own. Remember where you were living
- 12:25back then. Maybe you remember a bedroom or
- 12:31a lounge, Just a private area. And I want you to meet that
- 12:37younger version of yourself and just listen.
- 12:45Hear their frustrations, hear their sadness, hear their harsh
- 12:56criticism of themself. And now, being you from the
- 13:03future, with all of your wisdom, you can see that some of what
- 13:09they're criticizing themself about had nothing to do with
- 13:12them. They're just misinterpreting
- 13:17preference or circumstance or situation with a personal
- 13:21defect. And correct them.
- 13:25Let them know that this was not about them, and just listen.
- 13:34Ask them what they want in a relationship and when they tell
- 13:41you all of those things on their criteria.
- 13:46Keep probing. And what else?
- 13:50And what's more important and what's really important, Because
- 13:58sometimes we sell ourself on a story and sell ourself on that
- 14:04story for so long, we start believing that story to be true.
- 14:10But as you communicate with that younger version of you play
- 14:15detective, figure out what that younger version of you really
- 14:20wants in a relationship. Maybe it's more than you think.
- 14:28Maybe it's different to what you've been thinking.
- 14:37I want you to ask that younger version of them, would they be
- 14:41willing to dial down their standards to compromise just to
- 14:49be in a relationship if it meant that being in that relationship
- 14:57could risk having the real relationship that they wanted?
- 15:04If that younger version of you is not willing to compromise on
- 15:09their standards, let me know by nodding your head and I want you
- 15:20to give some wisdom to that younger version of you.
- 15:30Tell them that they can have high standards and they could be
- 15:35serious about those standards. Tell them they don't need to be
- 15:41serious about how they find the person that meets those
- 15:46standards. Ask them what they think to the
- 15:54idea of being serious about their standards and playful
- 15:59about the process and if they're willing to adopt that change.
- 16:06Let me know by nodding your head.
- 16:16Reassure them being serious about the standards means never
- 16:19compromising holding their standards of discernment to even
- 16:26higher levels. But they can be playful about
- 16:32how they figure out if those standards can be met.
- 16:36They don't need to vet. They don't need to interview or
- 16:40grill, they can just ask playful, curious questions and
- 16:49then interpret whether those standards can be met from words,
- 16:56but more importantly, actions and behaviours.
- 17:04That when people show you who they are, you can believe them.
- 17:12I want you to ask that younger version of you, if they're
- 17:14willing to maintain those high standards, to never play small
- 17:27and never settle, and if they're willing to never lower the
- 17:35standards but be flexible in finding the person that meets
- 17:41them, Let me know by nodding your head.
- 17:58That's it. And just give one final bit of
- 18:00wisdom. Tell that younger version of you
- 18:06that if things don't work out, it's because they weren't meant
- 18:10to be. It doesn't have to be personal,
- 18:15doesn't need deep reflection, criticism, and that doesn't mean
- 18:22that there can't be things that can be learned or refined.
- 18:27It just doesn't have to mean that that if they choose to be
- 18:32better, choose to learn, choose to be more interested, more
- 18:40engaging, that's just a bonus. It's just not a requirement.
- 18:49And as you see this younger version of you integrating this
- 18:54wisdom you now have back in that point in time, feel a ripple
- 19:00through space and time all the way to the present, almost like
- 19:05you're taking your own advice and feel that you've lived with
- 19:09that advice for it to become second nature.
- 19:13Now I want you to give a gift to that younger version of you,
- 19:23something that you would have wanted back then.
- 19:27An emotional resource, maybe belief, worthiness, maybe
- 19:35permission, playfulness. Give it to that younger version
- 19:41of you as a glowing ball of energy and see them take it,
- 19:45embrace it, hold it to their heart and absorb those wonderful
- 19:50resources and feel those resources ripple through space
- 19:56and time into your present. Like you've had this resource
- 20:00for a long time, but that younger version of you also had
- 20:07something that you've lost. And I want you to think of the
- 20:11quality you had back then that you would love to have in more
- 20:14abundance now, and see that younger version of you give you
- 20:19that as the gift. Whatever resource you had more
- 20:25in the past than you have now, take it, hold it to your chest,
- 20:30absorb that resource and feel it integrating within you.
- 20:38Give that younger version of you a hug, and then float forward
- 20:43into a future. Float one year into the future
- 20:50from the present, this time as an observer.
- 20:55I want you to see see a romantic evening that you're having one
- 21:03year from now with the relationship that you're in.
- 21:11Maybe it's a meal, maybe it's a special occasion.
- 21:16I want you to see how you smile, how relaxed and happy you seem
- 21:22and look, and I want you to see the qualities, but not the face
- 21:29of the person you're with in that future.
- 21:34Maybe it's someone strong, intelligent, capable, stable.
- 21:44Allow your imagination to show you how they have those
- 21:47qualities. Maybe they're successful, maybe
- 21:51there's clues to the success. I want you to see synergy.
- 21:58I want you to imagine a glowing circle of all the things that
- 22:03you value in a relationship going around you like you're in
- 22:09the centre of that circumference.
- 22:13And then imagine the person you're with also has a glowing
- 22:18circle of all the things they look for in a relationship.
- 22:25And I want you to see how these two glowing circles overlap.
- 22:33Because that's what it is when the things that you are and have
- 22:39and offer are the same things that someone else desires and
- 22:45who they happen to be and are and have are what you desire.
- 22:54That is the ingredients of a relationship based on synergy.
- 23:01Each of you benefits from the company of the other.
- 23:10Both lives are enriched. Both lives are enhanced.
- 23:16Each of you is able to make the other happier than they could be
- 23:20alone. And if you can see that future,
- 23:27your life enhanced, their life enhanced, let me know by nodding
- 23:30your head. That's it.
- 23:43And then just imagine you're able to see the key steps that
- 23:51it took to make that relationship happen.
- 23:59Go all the way back in time to how they first saw you.
- 24:05Maybe someone you work with, maybe someone in your gym or
- 24:11your walking route. Maybe you're someone on a dating
- 24:14app or in a club. Maybe it was somewhere that you
- 24:20weren't expecting, like a supermarket.
- 24:26And then just see how that chance encounter or initial
- 24:33contact led to questions, conversations.
- 24:39Notice how playful they were. You were gathering all the
- 24:42information you needed, but not in a serious way.
- 24:50No rushing to have that first date, but see that when there
- 24:55was a first date, you were excited for it, hopeful for it,
- 25:01and see the energy, the personality, the version of you
- 25:04that you presented on that first date.
- 25:10Serious about your standards, playful about the process, and
- 25:17notice how easily you were able to discern whether or not they
- 25:23had what you were looking for. And once you knew you could be
- 25:31interested as well as interesting.
- 25:36Curious to learn more about them.
- 25:42See how you were proactive, thoughtful, but also enabled
- 25:51them to demonstrate the effort and intention.
- 25:56See, you knew you could evaluate, you mattered to them.
- 26:06See, the ripple effect of 1 date leads to another What you paid
- 26:11attention to, the value you created for them, the value they
- 26:17created for you. And see how in this process
- 26:25there were no expectations, only appreciations.
- 26:30You appreciated when things felt good, A good conversation, a
- 26:39nice compliment effort was made, perhaps a gift.
- 26:44No expecting it, just appreciating it.
- 26:48And see the lightness of energy of that version of you.
- 26:52And then see how something that started off as a casual
- 27:00conversation became dating, became an exclusive
- 27:05relationship. Allow your imagination to give
- 27:10you a road map, not of certainty, but of increased
- 27:15probability, knowing that at any point in time, if you thought
- 27:20that this had run its course, this was no longer something you
- 27:28desired. See yourself with the confidence
- 27:31to end it if you choose to, to give you the time, energy and
- 27:36emotion to pursue something that would give you that potential
- 27:42return. And then Fast forward and see,
- 27:46see yourself in that committed exclusive relationship with that
- 27:53stable, secure person of integrity and authenticity.
- 28:03I want you to get a sense then, this is not a probability or
- 28:10even a possibility, that when you allow yourself to be fully
- 28:16yourself with your high standards and playful process,
- 28:22what you truly desire is inevitable.
- 28:27It's just a matter of time. And as you hold that thought,
- 28:31imagine floating all the way back to that blanket on the
- 28:35beach there in Rio. Imagine getting up off the
- 28:40blanket, walking to the ocean, feeling the water on your feet,
- 28:46and feeling that your levels of optimism and belief that you can
- 28:54attract what you truly desire is now a certainty within you.
- 29:00You feel worthy and deserving of love, connection, and a
- 29:07relationship that meets your high standards.
- 29:12And as you accept those beliefs to be true, it's time to leave
- 29:16this place. So take a deep breath in through
- 29:19your nose and out through your nose.
- 29:24Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate
- 29:28into the here and the now. As I now count from 1:00 to
- 29:3210:00 to awaken you starting to count 123 waking up 456, more
- 29:41alert 7-8 open your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 29:49Wide awake. Wide awake.
