Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: All of a sudden, we've got a ninety day rally
- 0:09Speaker 1: on our hands, or is it today? We'll break it
- 0:11Speaker 1: down for you. My name is Paul Barren. Welcome back
- 0:13Speaker 1: in the tech path. I want to thank our sponsor
- 0:15Speaker 1: today and that is Coinbase. As the market has been
- 0:18Speaker 1: depressed over the last couple of weeks, this might be
- 0:21Speaker 1: the spot where you get a chance to start your
- 0:23Speaker 1: crypto journey. And the way you do that is go
- 0:25Speaker 1: over to coinbase dot com using our link down below.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And the markets are on the move as we're actually
- 0:31Speaker 1: talking about this. Let's go to our first clip here.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This kind of explain what's happening.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Take a look two major developments. I'm going to go first.
- 0:40Speaker 2: That the President says he is authorizing a ninety day
- 0:44Speaker 2: pause and substantially lowering the reciprocal tariff during this period
- 0:48Speaker 2: of ten percent, effective immediately. There's some fuzzy language here.
- 0:53Speaker 2: The upshot is that there's a ninety day pause in
- 0:55Speaker 2: the reciprocal tariff. What I'm not clear on is whether
- 0:57Speaker 2: we go to zero during that time or two back
- 0:59Speaker 2: where we were, or if the ten percent tariff remains
- 1:03Speaker 2: in place. Either way, a major step forward. The President
- 1:06Speaker 2: says that this is because more than seventy five countries
- 1:09Speaker 2: have called representatives of the United States. Negotiations are ongoing,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and so he's instituting this ninety day pause in the meantime.
- 1:17Speaker 2: On the other hand, some negative news on China, saying
- 1:19Speaker 2: that based on the lack of respect that China has
- 1:22Speaker 2: shown to the world's markets, he's raising the tariff on
- 1:25Speaker 2: China to one hundred and twenty five percent. That's, of course,
- 1:29Speaker 2: up from the one hundred and four percent that took
- 1:31Speaker 2: effect just at midnight, now going even higher to one
- 1:34Speaker 2: hundred and twenty five percent, because he does not like
- 1:36Speaker 2: the way China has been retaliating rather than coming to
- 1:39Speaker 2: the United States and wanting to negotiate. So two major
- 1:42Speaker 2: step forwards here. One obviously very good for the markets.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You're seeing the markets react to that. The other one
- 1:47Speaker 2: on China looking like, you know, they don't like the
- 1:51Speaker 2: lack of respect that they see. So we are looking
- 1:54Speaker 2: at a world in which things continue to get worse.
- 1:58Speaker 1: All right, So there you go, guys, this has had
- 2:00Speaker 1: to head with China. And let me kind of explain
- 2:02Speaker 1: this because this is a negotiation tactic that is used
- 2:05Speaker 1: a lot in business. Actually because a lot of times
- 2:09Speaker 1: businesses have allies. In other words, you can go sell
- 2:11Speaker 1: to someone else, you can buy from someone else. That's
- 2:13Speaker 1: kind of the position that China was in, or believes
- 2:16Speaker 1: that they were in, because the whole world was getting
- 2:18Speaker 1: hit with tariffs. Now most of the countries have said, hey,
- 2:22Speaker 1: we're willing to negotiate. We realize that they've come to
- 2:25Speaker 1: the negotiation table. Trump has rewarded them and instead has
- 2:30Speaker 1: pressured China now to become on an island and have
- 2:34Speaker 1: to go head to head with the United States and
- 2:36Speaker 1: now maybe the rest of the world. So all this
- 2:39Speaker 1: plays into it kind of ironic that Trump put out
- 2:42Speaker 1: a tweet on Trump's social right there, this is a
- 2:47Speaker 1: great time but to buy This was this morning, guys
- 2:50Speaker 1: at nine point thirty before we saw this. So I'm
- 2:53Speaker 1: just saying, maybe sometimes you actually literally have to take
- 2:55Speaker 1: this guy to his work. Let's go over to a
- 2:57Speaker 1: couple other things. Trump is now raising the terror on
- 3:00Speaker 1: China two one hundred and twenty five percent. This course
- 3:02Speaker 1: is in retaliation over China's early morning hit, which caused
- 3:06Speaker 1: a lot of market turmoil. The question is is this
- 3:10Speaker 1: a constructed plan by the Trump White House I think
- 3:14Speaker 1: a lot of people are watching this, and this is
- 3:16Speaker 1: where Secretary Vesant came in and said this was President's
- 3:19Speaker 1: Trump's strategy all along to go to China into a
- 3:23Speaker 1: bad position. So now they are in a bad position.
- 3:27Speaker 1: And all of that started because of this right here,
- 3:29Speaker 1: the eighty four percent tariffs on UNUS goods in a
- 3:32Speaker 1: showdown with Trump.
- 3:33Speaker 3: So Euros, of course Europe also.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Hits back, and of course now that most likely will
- 3:38Speaker 1: come off the headline because Europe may be in a
- 3:40Speaker 1: position where they can start negotiating a deal. Also, China
- 3:44Speaker 1: Central Bank asked state owned banks now to reduce the
- 3:47Speaker 1: dollar purchases. This is a big deal because it will
- 3:50Speaker 1: start to put pressure on treasuries and bonds. And as
- 3:53Speaker 1: we see the market play out, one of the things
- 3:56Speaker 1: that will maybe start to retaliate is how does the UoN,
- 4:02Speaker 1: the digital UoN respond And that's the big factor right now.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It may be now in a free for all for
- 4:09Speaker 1: whether or not we see China start to really go
- 4:12Speaker 1: into a little bit of a recession, maybe the actually
- 4:15Speaker 1: hit a recession.
- 4:15Speaker 3: First, let me go.
- 4:16Speaker 1: To this next clip, because this is what Beson is
- 4:19Speaker 1: talking about with China.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Take a look They are the worst defenders in the
- 4:24Speaker 4: international trading system. They have the most imbalanced economy in
- 4:28Speaker 4: the history of the modern world, and I can tell
- 4:31Speaker 4: you that this escalation is a loser for them.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Are you willing to go that far to remove Chinese
- 4:37Speaker 5: stocks from US exchanges?
- 4:40Speaker 4: Well, Maria, I think everything's on the table. We are
- 4:43Speaker 4: putting in process export controls for high value security related goods.
- 4:51Speaker 4: So but that'll be President Trump's decision. And you know what, Maria,
- 4:55Speaker 4: at the end of the day, President Trump chairman, she
- 4:58Speaker 4: have a very good person relationship, and I am confident
- 5:03Speaker 4: that this will be resolved at the highest level.
- 5:07Speaker 1: All right, So there you can go see Bess. And again,
- 5:09Speaker 1: this is the thing we talked about yesterday. This is
- 5:13Speaker 1: a different kind of cabinet that's sitting in Washington right now.
- 5:16Speaker 1: They run in a different theme. They're not looking at politics, really,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I think they're looking at winning. And this may be
- 5:25Speaker 1: the factor in which is being played out between the
- 5:27Speaker 1: Trump administration and Gigiping. Of course, you have to look
- 5:30Speaker 1: at the Federal Reserve and many people say in the
- 5:33Speaker 1: Fed's not going to cut rates this year. This comes
- 5:35Speaker 1: in from Morgan Stanley. Others believe though that that may
- 5:39Speaker 1: not necessarily be the case. JP Morgan Jamie Diamond says
- 5:42Speaker 1: the US recession is now the likely outcome of Trump's
- 5:46Speaker 1: trade war, now, whether or not he thinks this ninety
- 5:48Speaker 1: day pause. But if you back up and say, well,
- 5:51Speaker 1: wait a minute, if the rest of the world comes
- 5:54Speaker 1: to an amicable agreement on where this goes in terms
- 5:58Speaker 1: of tariffs, and it's only China who has the outlandish
- 6:03Speaker 1: you know, trade deficit comparison, as you heard Vessen say
- 6:07Speaker 1: right there, that really all Trump was after, that would
- 6:12Speaker 1: be a little different of a play toward a recession.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I don't necessarily think the markets would mind that going
- 6:17Speaker 1: head to head like that, as long as we're not
- 6:19Speaker 1: creating kind of a global terraf war. Let's take a
- 6:23Speaker 1: look at the fed erate cut though right now still
- 6:26Speaker 1: on the rise on polymarket, which is holding it almost
- 6:30Speaker 1: what do we got here, ninety three percent right now
- 6:33Speaker 1: on a fed ray cut in twenty twenty five, that's
- 6:37Speaker 1: not a hard bet to take. I think I would
- 6:39Speaker 1: take that one.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I believe it would happen, all right.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So as of this morning, the fear and Greed chart
- 6:45Speaker 1: was actually at three, and it's already moved at time
- 6:48Speaker 1: or recording to sixteen by the time you get this video,
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's possible we could be over twenty or possibly twenty five,
- 6:54Speaker 1: moving into fear zone, which could be the loosening in
- 6:57Speaker 1: the market.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Now, if this ninety day hould hold out.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And Trump says, hey, we've come to agreements with the
- 7:04Speaker 1: world on tariffs, and it's only China, look for some
- 7:08Speaker 1: market rips for sure. Let's take a look at some
- 7:11Speaker 1: other things. The crypto fear and greed not necessarily responding
- 7:14Speaker 1: that much, even though I will show the charts here
- 7:16Speaker 1: in a minute, that is responding in a big way.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Other factors that are playing into this, of course, the
- 7:22Speaker 1: impact of tariffs, and this is where we're going to
- 7:25Speaker 1: get into potential price gouging. And Senator Warren actually goes
- 7:29Speaker 1: after this topic. Now, granted, if all of a sudden
- 7:32Speaker 1: the tariffs are off, then it's very difficult for price
- 7:35Speaker 1: gouging to occur. But if it were to occur outside
- 7:38Speaker 1: of China and the Chinese products that are coming in.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Take a look at this next clip. See what you
- 7:43Speaker 3: guys think.
- 7:44Speaker 6: This is almost like Part two. Remember our last conversation.
- 7:48Speaker 6: Now you got another way to say that corporations are
- 7:50Speaker 6: doing it, but that inflation came down. It seems like
- 7:53Speaker 6: the corporations only gouged when you say they're gouging, and
- 7:57Speaker 6: then they're unable to at other times.
- 8:00Speaker 5: So I know you don't want to listen to me
- 8:01Speaker 5: on this, but listen to Jerome Powell on this. The
- 8:04Speaker 5: example he gave on Friday was from the last time
- 8:08Speaker 5: that Trump's tariffs went into effect, and he said there
- 8:11Speaker 5: was a tariff on washing machines. No surprise, the price
- 8:15Speaker 5: of washing machines went up. But the shocking part is
- 8:19Speaker 5: the price of dryers went up as well, even though
- 8:24Speaker 5: there was no imposition of tariffs on those. You tell
- 8:27Speaker 5: me what that is except for price gouging. Price doesn't
- 8:31Speaker 5: go up on dryers. The cost of dryers didn't go
- 8:34Speaker 5: up growing up.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 5: One. The way you're I love the way you're changing
- 8:40Speaker 5: the subjects here. That is an example. Told me a gougeing,
- 8:46Speaker 5: we need to.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Eat this now.
- 8:47Speaker 6: They say we can keep it now, we can keep
- 8:48Speaker 6: it going, we can You don't want to keep it good?
- 8:51Speaker 1: No, senator, bit you don't, all right, so you know
- 8:54Speaker 1: you can kind of get warn not necessarily a crypto
- 8:57Speaker 1: love affair, but definitely uh fighting.
- 9:00Speaker 3: For American consumers out there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I want to go into further into the strategy though
- 9:05Speaker 1: with Trump and how he may play this hand that
- 9:08Speaker 1: he's dealing with gigiping, and how China can get to
- 9:12Speaker 1: the table, because it appears that the rest of the
- 9:14Speaker 1: world is now at the table in terms of negotiations.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Here's Kevin O'Leary. He says he has a way.
- 9:21Speaker 7: It says not about tariffs anymore. Nobody has taken on
- 9:25Speaker 7: China yet, not the Europeans, no administration for decades. As
- 9:29Speaker 7: someone who actually does business there, I've had enough. I
- 9:32Speaker 7: speak for millions of Americans who have ip that have
- 9:36Speaker 7: been stolen by the Chinese. I have nothing against the Chinese.
- 9:41Speaker 7: People may not like Trump, you may not like his
- 9:43Speaker 7: style or his rhetoric. Finally, an administration that puts up
- 9:48Speaker 7: and says enough. She can only stay the supreme leader
- 9:53Speaker 7: if people are employed, if we wipe out any business there.
- 9:57Speaker 7: Because we are still thirty nine percent of all consumables
- 10:01Speaker 7: on Earth and twenty five percent of the world's GDP,
- 10:04Speaker 7: America is the number one economy on Earth.
- 10:06Speaker 3: With all the cards.
- 10:07Speaker 7: We will not have that forever. It's time to squeeze
- 10:10Speaker 7: Chinese heads into the wall.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Now can they withstand the pressure of that sort of tax.
- 10:18Speaker 7: On the goods lived?
- 10:19Speaker 3: There will be But yeah, but what's your timeline, comparent.
- 10:22Speaker 1: You don't know the average Americans timeline what they can
- 10:25Speaker 1: actually survive.
- 10:25Speaker 3: There's people right now.
- 10:26Speaker 7: Who can survive one hundred percent tomorrow morning, cheese on
- 10:29Speaker 7: an airplane to Washington to cut a deal.
- 10:32Speaker 1: All right, that would do it? I think is that
- 10:35Speaker 1: kind of outlandish number. And of course we already saw
- 10:37Speaker 1: this with Tramp this morning actually implementing now one hundred
- 10:41Speaker 1: and twenty five percent there. So again Trump also is
- 10:44Speaker 1: pushing for another angle on the market, and that is
- 10:47Speaker 1: through this tax cut bill, which he said, get the
- 10:49Speaker 1: get the bill passed now the country will boom. And
- 10:53Speaker 1: of course this will start to generate. You know, if
- 10:55Speaker 1: you believe trickle down a comics, economics, et cetera. He
- 11:00Speaker 1: Hayes hits on a couple of points right here, the
- 11:01Speaker 1: fetes on the clock, things are breaking down. Stocks down
- 11:05Speaker 1: ten year yield down good and also stocks down ten.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Year yield up bad. That's kind of what we're seeing.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And if you look at the market finally realizing this
- 11:16Speaker 1: whether or not we see this occur in this year
- 11:20Speaker 1: is the real big question. Again, this new tariff pause
- 11:24Speaker 1: could change Powell's position very quickly. It also could change
- 11:29Speaker 1: markets in a very quick way, because Trump does have
- 11:31Speaker 1: a very unusual way to move the market quickly both directions.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Here's Peter Shiff, Trump's secret agendas to crash the stock
- 11:39Speaker 1: market to bring it down long term interest rates plan
- 11:42Speaker 1: already failed. Yield on the thirty year treasury is four
- 11:44Speaker 1: to seven, etc. Since February, and then the plan to
- 11:48Speaker 1: crash the stock market is now crashing the bomb market.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Now if that is the case, though, if we do
- 11:52Speaker 1: see a flip and we do see this reprieve, all
- 11:56Speaker 1: of this would be off the table. And that is
- 11:58Speaker 1: a big factor that we're dealing with right now, because
- 12:01Speaker 1: if you look at the way this has been constructed,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you could compare this to other past cycles.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Here's Rale Powell.
- 12:08Speaker 1: He says it feels a lot like back in December
- 12:11Speaker 1: twenty eighteen for those who are around pal signal to pivot.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I think we get the same plus a trade resolution
- 12:17Speaker 1: with China that's going to happen, and then risk in
- 12:20Speaker 1: stocks feel like ten percent down, but a max up
- 12:23Speaker 1: at about fifteen in a couple of weeks and twenty
- 12:27Speaker 1: five percent in a month or two. So that would
- 12:29Speaker 1: be a significant return on the markets if we continue
- 12:34Speaker 1: to see that kind of rally, and maybe today this
- 12:36Speaker 1: day is the beginning of it. So where are you,
- 12:39Speaker 1: guys position Let me know in the comments down below.
- 12:42Speaker 1: We'll take a look at the charts. I do want
- 12:44Speaker 1: to kind of wrap up on this point right here,
- 12:45Speaker 1: because this is a Treasury Secretary of Scott Bessant. He
- 12:48Speaker 1: announces the focus on regulatory challenges for blockchain, stable coins
- 12:54Speaker 1: and new payment system so he understands this. They're going
- 12:57Speaker 1: to drill down on this and get it done. Only
- 12:59Speaker 1: more good news for blockchain where this is going A
- 13:03Speaker 1: lot going on right now, guys.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Let me go over to the charts real quick, just
- 13:07Speaker 3: to show you.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Bitcoin is holding right now at eighty two, which is
- 13:10Speaker 1: up almost eight percent on the day at time of recording.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Let's take a look at Solana up twelve right now,
- 13:17Speaker 1: trading at a dollar excuse me, one hundred and eighteen
- 13:20Speaker 1: swee up to two twenty five, up seventeen percent, Onto
- 13:25Speaker 1: up twenty two percent on the day, and of course
- 13:29Speaker 1: the XRP token rising thirteen percent on the day. All
- 13:33Speaker 1: of this, guys, just because of what we're seeing with
- 13:36Speaker 1: this ninety day pause. Let me know how you guys
