- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So I recently heard that there
- 0:33was a person, a speaker out there, talking about how you
- 0:38know, incremental progress is a waste of time and that you have
- 0:42to go out there and you have to stop yourself and you have to go
- 0:46in massive directions to get things done.
- 0:50And I cannot tell you how much I disagree with this.
- 0:53Sure, you can do something like that if you feel compelled to do
- 0:57it, but what you What can you do consistently is what it's all
- 1:00about. Consistency is the key.
- 1:03Consistency is what we need because we don't realize how
- 1:08things add up when we do something consistently.
- 1:12And that's for the good, the greater.
- 1:15Better part of yourself as well as the dark side, the bad part
- 1:19of ourselves. So let's just say you think,
- 1:21okay, it's no big deal if I have, you know, you know, sugar
- 1:26every day, and sugar by itself one day is not a problem.
- 1:30But when you do it every single day over the course of a year,
- 1:33it adds up to pounds and pounds and pounds and when you realize
- 1:36how much sugar you've taken in your like, holy cow in a year,
- 1:39I've done that. You know, my big distinction
- 1:41with this is steps and how they add up with my Fitbit and what
- 1:45can be done with it. So last week was a I was very,
- 1:51very booked and I was walking a lot, every single day.
- 1:54And every day I walked just under 12 miles a day.
- 1:59And you just think, well, that's one step at a time and I'm
- 2:02adding up those steps and I'm up to 26,027 thousand, 28,000 steps
- 2:07and I'm like okay, okay. And at the end of the week you
- 2:09look and you're. Like, I'm 50 miles.
- 2:11I walk 50 miles. That's insane when you start to
- 2:14think about it. But they add up.
- 2:16So think about it this way. If you ink, if you make a
- 2:19decision that says I'm going to pay attention to the increments,
- 2:23paying attention to the increments is the key.
- 2:25If you read 20 pages a day, that may sound like a lot.
- 2:29But guess what? You've read 30 books.
- 2:31The average number of pages in a book.
- 2:33You've read 30 books in a year. So it doesn't even have to be 20
- 2:37pages. If you read 10 pages a day, you
- 2:40would read 15 books in a year. When's the last time you read 15
- 2:44books in a year? Think about that.
- 2:46How many? How many of you can even say you
- 2:48read two books last year because you've been so busy?
- 2:51You probably listened to books. You probably listened in the
- 2:54car. I could easily say I've listened
- 2:56to 15 books, but I can't sit there and tell you.
- 3:00I've even sat down and read that many books.
- 3:02Because I don't. Because I don't sit still.
- 3:05If you think about it, where you go, okay.
- 3:07If I save $10 a day now that's a trip to Starbucks.
- 3:11For most of us, you'll save $36150 in one year.
- 3:19If if you just start to contemplate if you run a mile a
- 3:24day, you're going to have run 365 miles in a year.
- 3:27And if you break it down even a little bit further and you say,
- 3:31OK, if I just improved myself by 1% every day, which, how would
- 3:35we quantify that? Well, it's personal.
- 3:37So you have to kind of figure it out on your own.
- 3:38But 1% a day gives you 37% better version of yourself by
- 3:47the end of the year, 1%. I mean, that's crazy.
- 3:50When you start to think about how much that could shift.
- 3:54And when I had to go through this process of, like, getting
- 3:57my health back under control and really, like, losing the weight,
- 4:00getting my feet to stop killing me, all of that, it was one step
- 4:04at a time. It legitimately started off as
- 4:07one step at a time. I'm just gonna start walking one
- 4:11step at a time and I'm gonna see where it takes me.
- 4:14And it was the smartest thing I've ever done doing this
- 4:17podcast. I'm just gonna do 5 minutes.
- 4:20When I started off with it, if if somebody's new and don't,
- 4:23doesn't know the story, I said to myself, you know what?
- 4:26When I came up with the idea, I was like, this is crazy.
- 4:29I'm gonna just do it. I'll record, I'll record it and
- 4:32I'll see what happens. And I'll just record 5 minutes
- 4:35and 5 minutes every day and see where it goes.
- 4:38And now here we are, you know, almost two years later.
- 4:42And we are. You know, in this position where
- 4:46we listened in 20 countries, we've got 10s of thousands of
- 4:50downloads. We have messages coming in, all
- 4:53because I decided to do 5 minutes a day in a chicken coop.
- 4:57Crazy, right? But that's what happens.
- 5:00So stop taking yourself out and stop thinking you have to take
- 5:04massive action. All those little steps add up
- 5:08every single day and. It it matters.
- 5:12It matters to the greater good. A compliment, a shift, a hug.
- 5:16You know, the reading, doing whatever it takes 1 little bit
- 5:21at a time will change the way you are moving forward.
- 5:25It will change the trajectory. It will give you a different
- 5:28outcome. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:31you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:34Bye.
