- 0:03Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's time now for one on one with pro and
- 0:08Speaker 2: it truly is one on Wednesday.
- 0:10Speaker 1: How are we doing, miss Freeman.
- 0:11Speaker 3: I'm great.
- 0:12Speaker 1: How are you well?
- 0:13Speaker 2: I'm just awesome now that you're here from Credit Truity
- 0:15Speaker 2: Credit Union, my goodness sake.
- 0:17Speaker 1: So we've got a lot going on here, and boy,
- 0:20Speaker 1: let's get underway with it.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Looks like we got back to school and boy, everybody's
- 0:23Speaker 2: in a rush with that.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Oh you know, it's been a wild time, but I
- 0:27Speaker 4: think people are starting to settle in a.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Little bit after the first couple of days.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm glad they do that on a Thursday and Friday
- 0:33Speaker 2: around here because it was my freshman because if it
- 0:37Speaker 2: was the whole week and was like, oh jeez, make
- 0:39Speaker 2: it stop.
- 0:40Speaker 1: But wonderful. Now we're back to school. We've got interesting
- 0:44Speaker 1: little things with Trudy.
- 0:46Speaker 2: We've got like team spirit, a little card, yes things
- 0:49Speaker 2: tell us a little bit about.
- 0:50Speaker 4: So we well, we've been really busy with back to
- 0:53Speaker 4: school kind of.
- 0:53Speaker 3: All over the area. To be honest.
- 0:55Speaker 4: We have things that we're doing with Bartlesville Schools, Huska
- 1:00Speaker 4: Wesley and Christian School, both of our local universities. So
- 1:04Speaker 4: we're really trying to get out there and be part
- 1:07Speaker 4: of the fun because everybody loves you know, fresh notebook
- 1:10Speaker 4: paper and a new backpack and all of those things.
- 1:13Speaker 3: In addition to that, we spend a lot.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Of time really trying to support those teachers. So remembering
- 1:18Speaker 4: that teachers are just their own people, even outside of
- 1:21Speaker 4: the classroom, and we want to make sure that we
- 1:24Speaker 4: can support them however they need for their best life.
- 1:27Speaker 4: In addition to how we support them with the students.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Well, and you know something, I've seen this because I
- 1:33Speaker 2: used to cover these school board beings. You would always
- 1:36Speaker 2: bring a little brand with you and you'd bring a
- 1:38Speaker 2: six foot by three foot.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Check in every now and then free dundation for.
- 1:42Speaker 1: The school as a result of people using these cards.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yeah, so the spirit cards that we have, we have
- 1:47Speaker 4: a Dewey card, a Husca card, and a Bartlespiel card,
- 1:50Speaker 4: a Tricounty Tech card excuse me, and anytime a member
- 1:56Speaker 4: uses that card, we take part of our profit from
- 1:58Speaker 4: that transaction donate it back to the schools. So we
- 2:02Speaker 4: do have the ability to do donations to various entities
- 2:05Speaker 4: around town just from people buying their lunch or picking
- 2:08Speaker 4: up a prescription or whatever they're using their debit card for.
- 2:11Speaker 3: So it's a really it's kind of a win win.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Now checking is a big deal and people use it
- 2:18Speaker 2: a lot to tell us a little bit about a
- 2:20Speaker 2: little promotion got going there.
- 2:21Speaker 3: So we actually have a couple different things that are
- 2:23Speaker 3: happening right now.
- 2:25Speaker 4: The first one is our one hundred dollars summer checking promotion,
- 2:29Speaker 4: so that goes through the end of this month, and
- 2:31Speaker 4: anyone that opens a new checking account with us gets
- 2:34Speaker 4: one hundred dollars cash. You have to remember too, that
- 2:37Speaker 4: we have a high yield checking account, so I was
- 2:40Speaker 4: double checking this morning. I'm pretty sure it's paying three
- 2:43Speaker 4: point seventy five right now.
- 2:45Speaker 3: So that's just money that you're using every day that's
- 2:48Speaker 3: earning interest for you. There's no minimums, there's no.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Fees anything on those accounts. So we really encourage people
- 2:58Speaker 4: to come give us a try, drop your paycheck in
- 3:01Speaker 4: or part of your paycheck in, and let us help
- 3:03Speaker 4: you make some money off of it and make your
- 3:06Speaker 4: life a little bit easier.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Well wonderful, absolutely wonderful. You know you got such friendly
- 3:13Speaker 2: locations here in town.
- 3:14Speaker 4: We do.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I mean, you got that beautiful piece of art down
- 3:16Speaker 2: there on south of Washington, and did of course downtown
- 3:21Speaker 2: with all of the history and the mural and the
- 3:25Speaker 2: floors and floors of people who know things.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yes, very friendly people who know things. You know.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Speaking of knowing things, I know a little bit about
- 3:33Speaker 2: this school bond that's coming up. We've got election day
- 3:37Speaker 2: on Tuesday, but people can early vote Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And is Truity just part of this in some way?
- 3:45Speaker 4: Well, I can tell you that on behalf of the
- 3:47Speaker 4: Credit Union, we have several of our employees that are
- 3:50Speaker 4: working on the bond committee. I shouldn't say on behalf
- 3:53Speaker 4: of the Credit Union as individuals their sermons committee. They
- 3:56Speaker 4: just happen to work for Chrurity giving some of their
- 3:58Speaker 4: time back. And we're certainly encouraging all of our community
- 4:02Speaker 4: to get out and get to the polls. A strong
- 4:06Speaker 4: school system helps make our community better, and that's really
- 4:09Speaker 4: from Truity's perspective, what we're always trying to do. Let's
- 4:12Speaker 4: strengthen individuals and families and schools, and that in turn
- 4:16Speaker 4: makes Maartles feel a better place to live and work.
- 4:19Speaker 4: So I know that we have the Donna Chancellor actually
- 4:22Speaker 4: at our employee meeting this morning telling everybody about the
- 4:25Speaker 4: different pieces of the proposal, and we're really hoping that
- 4:29Speaker 4: they'll take some time to early vote or vote on Tuesday.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Very good, Very good.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Now, I've told you this before and you might be
- 4:36Speaker 2: getting tired of it, but I think people need to
- 4:39Speaker 2: know this. Every time I show up at an event,
- 4:42Speaker 2: whether it's for a nonprofit, a fundraiser, or just something
- 4:48Speaker 2: cool in the community, like go into a show or
- 4:50Speaker 2: maybe to a sporting a bent in any one of
- 4:52Speaker 2: the schools, I see somebody that either hands the little
- 4:56Speaker 2: truity embroidery thing on their pulow or band edge still
- 5:00Speaker 2: on there, and or I just plain know that they
- 5:03Speaker 2: work at Trudy Woke. Sure, everywhere you want to talk
- 5:06Speaker 2: about being a part of the community, you're there.
- 5:09Speaker 3: We certainly try to be.
- 5:10Speaker 4: And with two hundred and twenty five two hundred and
- 5:13Speaker 4: maybe even more employees, yeah, there's a good chance that
- 5:16Speaker 4: you're going to run into one of us somewhere, and.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Part of our culture is being involved.
- 5:21Speaker 4: So we actually had a report this morning that in
- 5:23Speaker 4: the last quarter we contributed to eighty four local events
- 5:28Speaker 4: and had over one thousand hours of volunteer service.
- 5:31Speaker 3: By our employees.
- 5:33Speaker 4: So that's something that we don't just talk about on
- 5:35Speaker 4: the radio. We don't just you know, put in our ads.
- 5:38Speaker 4: We live and breathe it every day and try to
- 5:41Speaker 4: do what we can to support all of these different
- 5:44Speaker 4: entities around us.
- 5:45Speaker 2: If there's a big event going on for nonprofit things,
- 5:48Speaker 2: A lot of times I see your little Truity waggon
- 5:51Speaker 2: out there.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Oh sure, I got some good edibles in there.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 4: We take our food truck to quite a few different things,
- 5:57Speaker 4: especially you know, it'll start showing up. I think we
- 6:00Speaker 4: have Meet the Doggers tomorrow night, so we'll be out
- 6:03Speaker 4: in Dewey with it.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Serving some hot dogs. We're really kind of at everything.
- 6:08Speaker 4: There's a lot of nonprofit events coming up this fall, sure,
- 6:11Speaker 4: and we'll be sponsoring as many of those as we can,
- 6:14Speaker 4: having our staff people there at the events and you know,
- 6:18Speaker 4: visiting with friends and neighbors.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It's a lot of fun, it is.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It truly is.
- 6:23Speaker 2: And when you say local boy, we are local. Truity
- 6:26Speaker 2: got started right here Ian Mark, you.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Know, we did.
- 6:29Speaker 4: And it's interesting because we've been around since nineteen thirty nine,
- 6:34Speaker 4: which is an amazing history, but we're so much bigger
- 6:37Speaker 4: than people realize. Oh yeah in this part of the region.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I'll say so if I take Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Texas.
- 6:47Speaker 4: In Arkansas, we're probably one of the fastest growing credit
- 6:50Speaker 4: unions in the area over which is amazing. Yeah, we're
- 6:55Speaker 4: really growing. Our Pascal location is coming along. We're excited
- 6:59Speaker 4: about that. In fact, I know we just put out
- 7:00Speaker 4: a notice to start hiring some staff. So if anyone's
- 7:03Speaker 4: looking for an opportunity to get started in banking, we'd
- 7:07Speaker 4: love to have you think about working at our PUHUSCA branch.
- 7:10Speaker 4: And you know we have Kansas locations that we're opening
- 7:13Speaker 4: as well. We do always want people to remember the
- 7:16Speaker 4: ITM machine that's located.
- 7:18Speaker 3: In Dewey that's really easy to use.
- 7:21Speaker 4: And now we have two itms in our Johnstone branch
- 7:24Speaker 4: downtown in the drive through.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I just got an email about that.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I'm to have to drive through and use one of
- 7:29Speaker 2: those just to get the experience place off again.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Well, it's a great time to do it because right
- 7:33Speaker 4: now everyone that uses the ITM downtown, we're giving away
- 7:37Speaker 4: one hundred dollars every week to someone that's done a
- 7:40Speaker 4: transaction on one of those machines. Oh, so I would
- 7:44Speaker 4: encourage you to go by. In fact, last week I
- 7:46Speaker 4: worked an hour or two in the drive through, just
- 7:49Speaker 4: standing by the machine. So we have folks out there
- 7:52Speaker 4: so when you drive up, if you're not familiar with
- 7:54Speaker 4: how it works, we have people that can walk you
- 7:56Speaker 4: through it, show you what the benefits of the machine are.
- 7:59Speaker 4: I didn't realize the other day that it can accept
- 8:01Speaker 4: like up to fifty checks at one time.
- 8:04Speaker 3: So if you if you are.
- 8:06Speaker 4: A person that receives checks, you can drop them in
- 8:09Speaker 4: and it'll scan through them. You can deposit cash, you
- 8:12Speaker 4: can get cash.
- 8:14Speaker 3: You know, you can talk to someone.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So if you're someone that says I don't want to
- 8:18Speaker 4: pull up to a machine, I want to talk to
- 8:19Speaker 4: a person, then you just hit the button and the
- 8:22Speaker 4: person is right there. And if you're someone that doesn't
- 8:24Speaker 4: want to talk to anyone and get your business donning
- 8:26Speaker 4: it out, then you can.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Totally do that as well. We have options, yes, so
- 8:30Speaker 3: many options.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Try to make it easy, Trudy, credit Union.
- 8:35Speaker 2: It's a better way to bank, that's the way you say.
- 8:38Speaker 2: You a lot of innovations too. I really do get
- 8:42Speaker 2: a lot of information off your website, and of course
- 8:45Speaker 2: I do get notifications through email that I signed up for.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I opted into them, and I find every week I
- 8:52Speaker 2: get an update on my credit score.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 8:57Speaker 2: And it's interesting because I kind of I got one
- 9:02Speaker 2: young person in the home.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I said, see how this affects this and this and
- 9:06Speaker 1: this this.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Oh really, I get those credit updates. I also get
- 9:11Speaker 4: our home bought notifications.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that one.
- 9:13Speaker 3: So I get updates.
- 9:15Speaker 4: From Becky Gaily and our mortgage department that tells me
- 9:17Speaker 4: the value of my house based on the market, which
- 9:19Speaker 4: I find to be super helpful.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I it's your home calling.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's your home calling, and there's some money sitting here.
- 9:25Speaker 4: So that's that's a nice thing and helps people have
- 9:29Speaker 4: a better understanding of what their investments look like.
- 9:32Speaker 3: So yeah, we do have a lot of.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Different innovations and things that we're trying to do to
- 9:36Speaker 4: make it easy and accessible and let people do business
- 9:40Speaker 4: from wherever they are.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I'm glad that you mentioned that from wherever they are.
- 9:44Speaker 2: You're meeting them where they are. When people think of
- 9:47Speaker 2: a credit union or a financial.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Institution, think oh this is old and studdium.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Oh no it's not. It's right there are your fingertips.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I mean, you've got everything that can go on your phone,
- 9:58Speaker 2: on your laptop, are or just about whatever.
- 10:01Speaker 1: They got an app for that.
- 10:02Speaker 2: As they say. But it's always good to know where
- 10:07Speaker 2: you stand financially. You don't want to be surprised, you know.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Some people might not get surprised till they get a
- 10:14Speaker 2: letter in the mail, which by that time it might
- 10:17Speaker 2: be too late or probably is too late.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Well, and as I was waiting to come in here
- 10:22Speaker 4: to see you, I listened to Nathan and Shelley talking
- 10:24Speaker 4: about how you need to think about the future and
- 10:26Speaker 4: plan and that's something that we do. You know, we
- 10:29Speaker 4: partner with all kinds of different financial advisors and accounting
- 10:34Speaker 4: firms and tax planning the Community Foundation because we want
- 10:38Speaker 4: to make sure that people really understand what their assets
- 10:42Speaker 4: look like, what their financial life looks like, and how
- 10:45Speaker 4: can we help make it better for them in the future.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Well, that is great information information information stand on top
- 10:51Speaker 2: of it. One thing that I really like too, is
- 10:53Speaker 2: that you've gone especially like in the last three or
- 10:56Speaker 2: four years, just like on Turbo, when it comes to.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Making sure that your transactions are safe. Yes, I mean.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Just as safe as they can be electronically or in
- 11:10Speaker 2: person or anything. You're finding the bad guys before the
- 11:14Speaker 2: bad guys, you can find the door.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Well, we work very hard.
- 11:18Speaker 4: In fact, we have an entire fraud department that spends
- 11:22Speaker 4: their time trying to make sure that our members are
- 11:24Speaker 4: not taking advantage of that transactions remain safe for people.
- 11:28Speaker 4: You know, there's so many people that unfortunately spend their
- 11:31Speaker 4: day trying to scam other people out of money.
- 11:34Speaker 1: If you would just get a job, I mean.
- 11:36Speaker 3: That would be one option.
- 11:37Speaker 2: But so yes, that's okay, I got you going there.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Sorry about that.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Here.
- 11:43Speaker 4: We do spend time trying to monitor and make sure
- 11:47Speaker 4: that people are making good choices. Even I had my
- 11:51Speaker 4: debit card shut off because my daughter was buying something
- 11:54Speaker 4: on a website and so I had to call in
- 11:57Speaker 4: and say, hey, no, we were really trying to you know,
- 11:59Speaker 4: buys item, and so it was it was nice to
- 12:03Speaker 4: know that someone was watching out for our activity.
- 12:07Speaker 1: That is good.
- 12:08Speaker 2: You know, when you when you buy things online that
- 12:12Speaker 2: you're you're kind of throwing it, throwing it out there
- 12:14Speaker 2: a little bit and you don't know what's on the
- 12:16Speaker 2: other end. But it really is great to have that
- 12:18Speaker 2: extra set of eyes. Are you sure is this you did?
- 12:22Speaker 2: You really do want it? You really wanted that?
- 12:24Speaker 1: Oh? Good choice, there you are.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Exactly Now.
- 12:29Speaker 2: We have our locations here in town and you can
- 12:33Speaker 2: drop by and make a visit, and you can go
- 12:35Speaker 2: to the website. And I invite anyone who's not been
- 12:39Speaker 2: to your website to go there and look around.
- 12:41Speaker 1: What's how do we sign you online?
- 12:43Speaker 4: So we're at TRUDYCU dot org. So Trudy credit Union
- 12:47Speaker 4: dot org. You can find all kinds of things on there.
- 12:50Speaker 4: You can find the latest rates. So if you're looking
- 12:52Speaker 4: for ways to make more money or save more money,
- 12:54Speaker 4: you can do that. If you're looking to save time,
- 12:57Speaker 4: you can book appointments on there with our local consultants
- 13:01Speaker 4: and so you can go in.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And see someone.
- 13:03Speaker 4: One of my favorite features is our chat feature and
- 13:06Speaker 4: our messaging feature.
- 13:08Speaker 3: So if I have something I need to do.
- 13:10Speaker 4: I just send a message and say hey, can you
- 13:11Speaker 4: transfer this money or can you check on this thing?
- 13:14Speaker 4: And then they respond back in a short little bit and.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Say, yep, this is taking care of So.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You're absolutely right. I have used that.
- 13:22Speaker 2: In fact, the first time I used it was about
- 13:24Speaker 2: it a year year and a half ago. Maybe when
- 13:26Speaker 2: it was kind of new and I really didn't know
- 13:31Speaker 2: how this would work, but it was almost like being
- 13:34Speaker 2: right there. I mean, it was that fast and it
- 13:38Speaker 2: was that precise, and the chat person. If that chat
- 13:42Speaker 2: person didn't know exactly how to answer my question, they
- 13:46Speaker 2: found someone who could. And it was just minutes and
- 13:51Speaker 2: it saved me getting in the car and driving downtown
- 13:53Speaker 2: and you know, getting all stressed out. All I had
- 13:56Speaker 2: to do was just type away and ask my question.
- 14:00Speaker 2: They answered it for me, and you know, life was
- 14:02Speaker 2: pretty good after that.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I think another I totally agree on the chat.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Another favorite feature if you do need to talk to
- 14:08Speaker 4: someone is the callback feature. Oh yeah, so when you
- 14:11Speaker 4: call in if you get put on hold, because believe
- 14:15Speaker 4: it or not, most people call into the credit Union
- 14:17Speaker 4: at the same time, it seems like, and so if
- 14:20Speaker 4: that's the case, you can just push a button and
- 14:22Speaker 4: then they'll call you back with the next available attendant.
- 14:24Speaker 3: So I love that.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I don't want to spend my time on hold, and
- 14:28Speaker 4: it's usually just a minute or two and then they
- 14:29Speaker 4: call you right back.
- 14:30Speaker 3: So it works really well.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I have used that too.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Very good truity A better way to bank, Miss Freeman
- 14:36Speaker 2: Thank you for being our guest today.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Thanks for having me. I appreciate it.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Alrighty, folks, you've been watching and listening to are one
- 14:43Speaker 2: on one with the pro right here on K one,
- 14:47Speaker 2: the one you trust.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Thanks for listening to one on one with a professional,
- 14:54Speaker 1: a paid presentation in fourteen hundred K one
