- 0:00Welcome to today's session, everyone. Today,
- 0:03we're exploring a pretty brilliant community
- 0:06initiative. Oh, nice. The Youth Council of Dubai
- 0:10Electricity and Water Authority, known as DIWA,
- 0:13they recently organized a vital awareness workshop.
- 0:17It is such a great story. This was actually organized
- 0:21as part of the fourth edition of Summer Camp
- 0:232026. Right. It was hosted by Ferjan Dubai in
- 0:29collaboration with Al -Amin Service. Wow. Yeah,
- 0:33and the workshop brought together schoolchildren
- 0:35between the ages of 5 and 15 from Al -Qanij and
- 0:39Al -Barsha. I just think the naming was perfect.
- 0:42They called it Electricity and Water Heroes.
- 0:46Love that. The entire focus was on raising awareness
- 0:50of the efficient management of electricity and
- 0:52water. Hmm. They did this alongside waste reduction
- 0:56and, you know, general environmental protection.
- 0:59It is so important to reach that demographic.
- 1:02The workshop really aimed to instill sustainability
- 1:05values from a very early age. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:09It was delivered in a highly interactive and
- 1:12accessible format. It really encouraged these
- 1:16young pupils to adopt responsible behaviors at
- 1:19home and at school. Absolutely. It provided practical
- 1:23tips and guidance to help these schoolchildren
- 1:25actually improve their use of resources. Right.
- 1:29This is empowering them to drive positive change
- 1:32in their local communities. And to truly capture
- 1:35the vision behind this? Yeah. I want to read
- 1:39the official statement regarding this initiative,
- 1:41word for word. Go ahead. It perfectly frames
- 1:45the mission. We support DEWA's social responsibility
- 1:49efforts to encourage the younger generation to
- 1:52actively contribute to building a more sustainable
- 1:56future. During the UAE's Year of Family, we are
- 2:01reinforcing our commitment to nurturing an aware
- 2:04and responsible generation well -equipped to
- 2:08address current and future climate challenges.
- 2:11We are pleased to take part in initiatives and
- 2:13programs that make productive use of young people's
- 2:18time and energy during the summer holiday. Wow.
- 2:22While instilling the values of teamwork and responsibility
- 2:25for the benefit of the nation, individuals, and
- 2:27society. That statement beautifully highlights
- 2:31the value of productive summer programs. Because
- 2:34when you blend teamwork, responsibility, and
- 2:36climate awareness, Yeah. you truly prepare the
- 2:40youth for the future. Now, here's a question
- 2:43we'd like you to think about. Ooh. Okay. If you
- 2:47were designing a summer camp to turn local children
- 2:49into environmental heroes, Hmm. what is the very
- 2:53first practical habit you would teach them?
