- 2:52news, Massachusetts State Police are making a
- 2:56significant change in how they handle fleeing
- 2:59vehicles with innovative technology. Troopers
- 3:02can now deploy a GPS tracking device from their
- 3:05cruiser, allowing them to track, rather than
- 3:08chase, a suspect's vehicle. Trooper Colton Leary
- 3:12explained that activating the device is as simple
- 3:15as hitting arm and launch, which allows for real
- 3:18-time updates on the vehicle's location. This
- 3:22method significantly reduces the dangers associated
- 3:25with high -speed chases, which can be hazardous
- 3:28for both officers and the public. Currently,
- 3:3130 police vehicles are equipped with this system,
- 3:34which has a 70 % success rate in attachment.
- 3:42Now on to sports. New England Patriots rookie
- 3:46running back Trevion Henderson has made the most
- 3:50of his opportunity, filling in for injured starter
- 3:53Ramondre Stevenson, who has missed the past three
- 3:56games because of a toe injury. Henderson's two
- 4:00touchdown runs and one receiving touchdown helped
- 4:03the Patriots to a 27 -14 victory over the New
- 4:06York Jets on Thursday night, sparking the question
- 4:09on whether he might assume a larger role when
- 4:12Stevenson returns. The Patriots improved to nine
- 4:16wins and two losses with the win, the best record
- 4:19in the NFL, and won their eighth in a row. Henderson
- 4:23became the second rookie in Patriots history
- 4:26to have multiple rushing touchdowns in consecutive
- 4:29games. He has seen his playing time more than
- 4:32double during the past three weeks with Stevenson
- 4:35out. The Jets have failed to intercept a pass
- 4:38for 10 streak games, tying the longest such streak
- 4:41in NFL history. in local sports. Tim Stutzel
- 4:47scored twice in the third period, leading the
- 4:50Ottawa Senators to a victory over the Bruins,
- 4:535 -3, ending Boston's seven -game win streak.
- 4:58Dylan Cozens and Claude Giroux each had a goal
- 5:01and an assist for Ottawa, while Shane Pinto scored
- 5:04shortly after signing a four -year extension.
- 5:08Morgan Gicke had a goal and an assist for the
- 5:10Bruins, with David Pasternak and Mark Kostelic
- 5:14also finding the net. Pasternak's goal marked
- 5:17his 11th of the season and the 402nd of his career,
- 5:22tying him with Rick Middleton for fifth in franchise
- 5:25history. The Bruins will face Montreal Saturday.
- 5:31In top news, Disney Chief Financial Officer Hugh
- 5:35Johnston is ready to go 12 rounds, maybe 15.
- 5:39in the ongoing carriage negotiations with U2
- 5:42TV. Johnston stated on CNBC that his company
- 5:47is ready to go as long as they want to. This
- 5:50statement comes as reports indicated that discussions
- 5:53between the two media giants have become more
- 5:56productive. Johnston believes that claims about
- 6:00legacy media losing marketplace strength are
- 6:03an exaggeration. He added that Disney has built
- 6:07a hedge into its guidance. anticipating potential
- 6:10dollar impacts. Disney Chief Executive Officer
- 6:14Bob Ager emphasized the importance of closing
- 6:17a timely deal to ensure uninterrupted service
- 6:21for consumers. Disney's streaming profits grew,
- 6:25with Disney Plus adding 3 .8 million subscribers.
- 6:29The company plans to invest $1 billion more in
- 6:33content in 2026 than in 2025. In business news,
- 6:41Bitcoin has fallen to its lowest level in six
- 6:43months, deepening its bear market as long -term
- 6:46holders stepped up their selling. The largest
- 6:50cryptocurrency was down 3 .4 % to $98 ,308, marking
- 6:56its lowest point since May 8th, according to
- 6:59Dow Jones Market data. It is now trading around
- 7:0322 % below its record high of $126 ,273 reached
- 7:10on October 6. Long -term holders, defined as
- 7:14those who held Bitcoin for over 155 days, sold
- 7:18roughly 815 ,000 Bitcoins in the past 30 days.
- 7:23Analysts noted that the Bitcoin market remains
- 7:26in an extremely bearish phase. potentially signaling
- 7:29a shift in market sentiment. The overall cautious
- 7:33investor sentiment and liquidity drain during
- 7:36the recent government shutdown likely contributed
- 7:38to Bitcoin's weakness. In crypto movement, Bitcoin
- 7:43is down 8 % for the week to about $98 ,000. Ethereum
- 7:49is down 12 % to just under $3 ,200. And XRP is
- 7:54down half a percent to $2 .29. Moving on to a

- 8:45back to the show. Let's talk science. Google's
- 8:50DeepMind has cracked a century -old physics mystery
- 8:53using artificial intelligence. Scientists have
- 8:57long struggled to predict how fluids behave,
- 9:00especially their chaotic nature. DeepMind's breakthrough
- 9:03offers valuable insights into fluid dynamics.
- 9:08DeepMind researchers identified new unstable
- 9:11singularities across three fluid dynamics equations.
- 9:15This advancement may enhance our understanding
- 9:18of turbulence, which affects everything from
- 9:20aircraft drag to blood flow. While not revolutionary,
- 9:25it is a meaningful step forward in mathematical
- 9:28physics. And in entertainment news, legendary
- 9:35documentary filmmaker Ken Burns has been trying
- 9:38to tell the story of America for 10 years. He
- 9:42emphasizes the importance of a complicated origin
- 9:45story rather than a superficial one. Burns is
- 9:50promoting his latest documentary, The American
- 9:53Revolution, premiering on public broadcasting
- 9:56service ahead of America's 250th anniversary
- 9:59in 2026. The six -part series is narrated by
- 10:05Peter Coyote and features voices of celebrities
- 10:08like Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep. Schmidt notes
- 10:12that the revolution was not just about independence,
- 10:16but was incredibly violent. Burns believes knowing
- 10:19our origin story can unite us. Well, all righty,
- 10:24folks. It's time for the quote of the day. And
- 10:28today, our quote comes from the American author
- 10:30and motivational speaker, Les Brown. And he said,
- 10:36shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll
- 10:39land them on the stars. And that's a wrap for
