- 1:39Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:43Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium, and boy, the food tastes better, the
- 1:48Speaker 1: oxygen is more fresh. Everything. Yeah, everything's better. We haven't
- 1:53Speaker 1: had a win like that and I don't know how long,
- 1:56Speaker 1: but man, feels good, feels so good.
- 2:00Speaker 5: It was an exciting game too. It wasn't just like
- 2:02Speaker 5: you you won, you know, the other team rolled up.
- 2:04Speaker 5: It was a good game, great finish, yeah, I mean
- 2:08Speaker 5: a lot of good stuff.
- 2:08Speaker 1: The Bills were a good team. They showed their metal
- 2:10Speaker 1: at the end of the game. They didn't have their
- 2:12Speaker 1: best game, but at the end of the game, Josh
- 2:14Speaker 1: Allen does what great quarterbacks do. He you know, got
- 2:18Speaker 1: it together and they scored two touchdowns. But yet the
- 2:20Speaker 1: Patriots were able to overcome that. Come you know, I
- 2:24Speaker 1: think you can truck it up as it come from
- 2:26Speaker 1: behind win right sure? Oh yeah, yeah, come back fourth quarter,
- 2:29Speaker 1: even though you were winning for fifty eight minutes.
- 2:32Speaker 5: You know, now, the way the NFL does it, it won't.
- 2:34Speaker 5: But yes, it absolutely counts as a un because they
- 2:38Speaker 5: because it's trailing entering the fourth quarter.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so back and forth and the fourth I
- 2:44Speaker 1: will count.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I will count it.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Oh, it definitely counts. Yeah, and it would count.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And yeah, Mac, everybody else's Mac had to have a
- 2:52Speaker 1: game winning drive. And he did it.
- 2:54Speaker 5: He did it, And I mean I've said it a
- 2:55Speaker 5: couple of times.
- 2:55Speaker 4: I just I like that it came off of what
- 2:57Speaker 4: could have been a devastating mistake the.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Fun black guy Kendrick Bourne, which you know I should say.
- 3:01Speaker 5: I feel it was really hard on him on the
- 3:03Speaker 5: prost Game Show.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I think I was just like, that was a nice
- 3:05Speaker 4: play by poor to punch it out, like I put
- 3:07Speaker 4: him on the down list, and I kind of regret
- 3:09Speaker 4: it a little bit, just because I thought he made
- 3:10Speaker 4: some plays, but not the time for a down list.
- 3:12Speaker 4: It wasn't a time for a downlist for kender Bourne.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yet he did have a good game. But I just
- 3:15Speaker 4: liked that they had that mistake and you said, all right, well, Pero,
- 3:18Speaker 4: it is this is where you can fold and you
- 3:20Speaker 4: know they did score, and you know it just it
- 3:22Speaker 4: gave an opportunity for them to pick themselves up off
- 3:24Speaker 4: the mat and go down and like you said, get
- 3:27Speaker 4: that win against Buffalo.
- 3:28Speaker 7: That it's like, you know, over these years, the Jets
- 3:30Speaker 7: have done it a couple of times. You're like, how
- 3:31Speaker 7: did the Jets just dumb into a.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Win over Buffalo?
- 3:34Speaker 4: And for some reason it's like, you know, seven out
- 3:36Speaker 4: of the last eight, like every time.
- 3:37Speaker 5: It's just like same game getting hammered. So it was great.
- 3:40Speaker 5: It was a great, great win for these.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So we have that to talk about what it means
- 3:44Speaker 1: that game going forward. Perhaps it's Deuce, it's Tamara, it's Evan, Paul, myself,
- 3:49Speaker 1: Matt and the booth. We'll be here for the next
- 3:52Speaker 1: two hours talking about Patriots. It's right, and we have
- 3:55Speaker 1: good things to talk about. Like it's it's great.
- 3:57Speaker 5: It's nice to have Fred back. No, I mean it's nice.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You know, you start the game and you get the inactives,
- 4:03Speaker 1: you look at the warm ups and you see on
- 4:05Speaker 1: when you at the right tackle and you're like, okay, okay,
- 4:10Speaker 1: they're seeing what we're seeing. They're they're making a move
- 4:14Speaker 1: and I think to me that was like the catalyst
- 4:17Speaker 1: for it being a good day. I really do. I think,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know, having him at the right would sow next
- 4:24Speaker 1: to him. I think that that was.
- 4:26Speaker 3: You know, who can we double check that on when you? Sorry?
- 4:31Speaker 5: What is it?
- 4:33Speaker 1: I don't know what did I say on.
- 4:34Speaker 3: When you know? That's what you guys say. But I'm
- 4:37Speaker 3: still stuck on on on when it could be?
- 4:40Speaker 5: It could be you say, Chandler Jones, can you say
- 4:43Speaker 5: that again on.
- 4:45Speaker 1: When you so? I kind of stressed the Yeah, I
- 4:51Speaker 1: kind of do you and he.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Does, sorry to distract us, Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Anyway, anyway, but like I think Max Mike, I think
- 4:57Speaker 1: Max saw that, and obviously they probably practiced it during
- 5:00Speaker 1: the week, right, I'm sure like.
- 5:01Speaker 7: He said Wednesday, was that they came to him instead.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so Mac. I think that gave Mac a little
- 5:07Speaker 1: bit more confidence. I don't know if it gave him
- 5:09Speaker 1: any more time because the ball was out of his
- 5:11Speaker 1: hands so fast during the game. But I think that
- 5:14Speaker 1: was one of the things that you can point to
- 5:17Speaker 1: that was different that worked. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah, getting Douglas involved, I mean, he's another thing.
- 5:24Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:24Speaker 4: The thing I didn't realize too was that he drew
- 5:27Speaker 4: three penalties and all of them led to touchdowns. Like
- 5:29Speaker 4: all of them, all the penalties that he drew, I
- 5:31Speaker 4: think it was one defensive holding, two oh PI or
- 5:33Speaker 4: DPIs they all ended up in a touchdown. So I mean,
- 5:36Speaker 4: he just was involved a lot and led to a
- 5:39Speaker 4: lot of good things, and I just I hope they
- 5:41Speaker 4: can continue to be.
- 5:41Speaker 7: Some of those catches he made were outstanding.
- 5:43Speaker 5: You know, It's like to me was more impressive even
- 5:46Speaker 5: and I know it didn't matter, but the penalties that
- 5:50Speaker 5: he drew, he cut the ball anyway, yeah, you know,
- 5:53Speaker 5: and contested catches for a guy who's a little smaller
- 5:57Speaker 5: in stature, kind of don't know to travel.
- 6:02Speaker 1: He looked like I said it in the post game show,
- 6:04Speaker 1: he looked like a veteran, Like the confidence, the sure handedness,
- 6:08Speaker 1: obviously the vision once he has the ball. He didn't
- 6:13Speaker 1: look like a rookie, not me.
- 6:14Speaker 7: He looked better than I had seen him.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Man, it was like he got concussed and all of
- 6:17Speaker 4: a sudden it kind of all clicked for him for
- 6:19Speaker 4: some reason, like you know, like.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Oh that's all he needed that way, But he was
- 6:26Speaker 5: he was excellent.
- 6:27Speaker 7: That was a new level I haven't even seen that
- 6:29Speaker 7: out of him.
- 6:29Speaker 8: Yet I also really liked the tight ends, and I
- 6:31Speaker 8: don't know if it was just because it was National.
- 6:33Speaker 9: Tight End Day and they were feeling it a little.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Bit more days National tight End.
- 6:37Speaker 5: It seems like a whole the whole NFL season is
- 6:40Speaker 5: devoted to George Oh.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Now that Taylor Swift likes a tight end, I mean, that's.
- 6:46Speaker 5: That's the position of the position.
- 6:47Speaker 9: But they were great, and you know, starting off, that
- 6:49Speaker 9: was already the position.
- 6:50Speaker 8: Starting off with Pharaoh Brown, it seems like, you know,
- 6:52Speaker 8: whenever he gets the opportunity, he has a big play,
- 6:54Speaker 8: and it just went up from there.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Downtown Brown.
- 6:57Speaker 7: It's unbelievable, Downtown a couple of times.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, moving up the pyramid.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I want to just Bill O'Brien just come out to
- 7:05Speaker 3: the middle the fifty yard line and take about take
- 7:08Speaker 3: about I don't I don't think I can remember. You
- 7:14Speaker 3: have to go back to Brady McDaniels for a game
- 7:17Speaker 3: plan that was as well constructed as that one. He
- 7:20Speaker 3: was a step ahead of Sean McDermott for four quarters.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I thought that Mac played exceptionally well in the fourth
- 7:25Speaker 3: quarter of this game, But the first three quarters, Billy oh,
- 7:29Speaker 3: drove the ship, he carried the offense.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Normally I would push back and say, well, it's just
- 7:33Speaker 1: because they executed it better. But Mac after the game
- 7:37Speaker 1: specifically said he gave credit to Bill O'Brien, said, he
- 7:40Speaker 1: did we did a lot of things that I feel
- 7:42Speaker 1: comfortable doing. Well.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I think they did a lot of different things too.
- 7:45Speaker 3: It was an absolute thing of beauty. It was a
- 7:47Speaker 3: masterclass by Bill O'Brien. Is it sustainable the execution part
- 7:53Speaker 3: of it or the x's and O is part of it?
- 7:55Speaker 3: Because those are two different things.
- 7:56Speaker 5: All right, Yeah, I would say that, Yeah, go ahead.
- 8:00Speaker 5: I didn't wanted to come No, I.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Think it because that's my big picture question coming off
- 8:05Speaker 3: this game, is was that the Patriots super Bowl? Or
- 8:08Speaker 3: is that the Patriots now?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Right?
- 8:09Speaker 3: Like, because we've seen this on the other side, where
- 8:13Speaker 3: you know, do you catch the Giants sleeping, you win
- 8:16Speaker 3: the upset game, and then the very next week you
- 8:18Speaker 3: lose by thirty points and like it's kind of just
- 8:20Speaker 3: all right, well, what was the point even of beating Buffalo?
- 8:23Speaker 3: But if this is how they're going to play offense
- 8:26Speaker 3: moving forward? That opening script, the opening where they have
- 8:29Speaker 3: Miami Dolphins like they're coming out, they're motioning Pop Douglas,
- 8:32Speaker 3: They're running all sorts of misdirection in motion in the
- 8:35Speaker 3: running game, they're bootlegging like Pharaoh Brown bootleg. And then
- 8:39Speaker 3: I hit him for like twenty two yards something like
- 8:41Speaker 3: that in the opening drive. That was as well of
- 8:44Speaker 3: a design to plan as I've seen the Patriots have
- 8:47Speaker 3: in years. I mean, he was on fire.
- 8:49Speaker 1: How much of it was this was the right matchup?
- 8:52Speaker 1: Or do you, like Paul said, is this sustainable? Oh?
- 8:55Speaker 5: I don't know. If I didn't know if it's sustainable,
- 8:58Speaker 5: I would say what they did you can do every
- 9:00Speaker 5: week if you want to. But I do wonder how
- 9:03Speaker 5: much the style of defense that Buffalo plays, right, I
- 9:06Speaker 5: think that if you look at some of the better
- 9:08Speaker 5: games that even this iteration of the Patriots offense has had,
- 9:12Speaker 5: Like they moved the ball pretty well last year in Buffalo.
- 9:15Speaker 10: If you if you recall and that especially, That's what
- 9:18Speaker 10: I'm talking about, But that the game in Buffalo, they
- 9:20Speaker 10: moved the ball pretty well, and they gave themselves a
- 9:23Speaker 10: chance to get in a shootout if they didn't give
- 9:25Speaker 10: up the second kick return.
- 9:27Speaker 5: You know, And I do think the style I think
- 9:29Speaker 5: Buffalo's defense is good. I'm not telling you that they stink.
- 9:32Speaker 5: So again, I'm guarding a minute, I'm guarding against the
- 9:36Speaker 5: Blah police, right. I think Buffalo's defense is good, but
- 9:40Speaker 5: I think it's a good matchup for the Patriots. I
- 9:42Speaker 5: think they like to get the ball out quickly, short,
- 9:46Speaker 5: and Buffalo likes to play soft z own. I think
- 9:49Speaker 5: that really kind of like really factors into the.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Equations, the role of a coordinated to recognize them well.
- 9:57Speaker 5: And that's why, like, I'm happy that Evan you know,
- 10:00Speaker 5: cited Bill O'Brien fred as you came down for the
- 10:03Speaker 5: post game show. That was how I let off the good,
- 10:06Speaker 5: the bad, and the injured. Was my good was coaching period.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Like the game plan that they had I thought really
- 10:14Speaker 5: kept Buffalo on its heels for sixty plus minutes. Now,
- 10:18Speaker 5: it wasn't perfect because they're not that good. They can't
- 10:21Speaker 5: dominate a good team like on the school board on this,
- 10:25Speaker 5: you know, on the stat sheet for sixty minutes every game.
- 10:28Speaker 5: That's not they're not good enough to do that. But
- 10:30Speaker 5: they took what they had and they kept Buffalo off
- 10:33Speaker 5: guard throughout the game, and there were some peaks and
- 10:36Speaker 5: valleys along the way. But I really thought the motion
- 10:39Speaker 5: stuff that Evan's talking about, the quick stuff to Douglas,
- 10:42Speaker 5: And what I really like is we get made fun
- 10:45Speaker 5: of all the time. Like, listen to these guys. They're
- 10:46Speaker 5: trying to tell Bill Belichick what to do, Like he
- 10:49Speaker 5: doesn't know. No, we're not trying to tell. But when
- 10:52Speaker 5: a lot of people want to do something and they
- 10:54Speaker 5: actually do it, then it's okay. Like this, like people
- 10:58Speaker 5: have been saying, put a one U at tackle, people
- 11:00Speaker 5: are saying just you know, sort of just go with
- 11:02Speaker 5: more dogs, go with Douglas as the focal point. He's
- 11:05Speaker 5: the best game. You know, people were complaining when Douglas
- 11:09Speaker 5: got benched for fumbling. Let him play through the mistakes
- 11:11Speaker 5: and maybe he'll make more plays than makes that he
- 11:14Speaker 5: makes mistakes if you just stick with it. That was
- 11:16Speaker 5: what this game was, you know, because he made mistakes
- 11:19Speaker 5: and I think Mac was pissed at him on that sack.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Yes, ran right into the zone defender instead of sitting
- 11:25Speaker 3: at you.
- 11:26Speaker 5: But this is like we don't know more than anybody
- 11:30Speaker 5: that's that's working in the NFL, and we don't pretend to,
- 11:33Speaker 5: but sometimes you can just see the this might work
- 11:36Speaker 5: let it, you know, just sort of let it work.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Hatians.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he just so everybody against the Patriots,
- 11:44Speaker 3: Buffalo included, is just playing a ton of man coverage.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Like they just don't think that you can beat them
- 11:49Speaker 3: in man coverage because the Patriots don't have their receivers.
- 11:52Speaker 3: So very first player of the game, Patriots go under center,
- 11:55Speaker 3: they get single high man to man, and they motioned
- 11:57Speaker 3: Douglas and now it becomes a horror horizontal track meet, Like,
- 12:01Speaker 3: all right, if you're gonna just come up and play
- 12:03Speaker 3: man to man against us, we're not gonna let you
- 12:05Speaker 3: press our receivers at the line, and we're gonna make
- 12:07Speaker 3: you tackle in space.
- 12:08Speaker 5: So what do they do.
- 12:09Speaker 3: They motion him across the formation, They throw them the
- 12:12Speaker 3: cheap motion throw, and then he just spins Tron Johnson
- 12:16Speaker 3: like a top with the ball in his hands and
- 12:18Speaker 3: puts him in a blender and now you're nine yards
- 12:21Speaker 3: on first down. Now it's second and one. Like that
- 12:23Speaker 3: was the game plan, and it got Buffalo to play
- 12:26Speaker 3: more zone. I think Buffalo wanted to play man to
- 12:29Speaker 3: man in this game. I think they wanted to come
- 12:31Speaker 3: out and play a bunch of man and then pop Douglas,
- 12:34Speaker 3: to his credit, was terrific. I mean they couldn't cover
- 12:38Speaker 3: the guy like he was opened the entire game for
- 12:40Speaker 3: four quarters.
- 12:41Speaker 5: Opened a couple.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Times on the goal line too, where he probably could
- 12:45Speaker 3: have gotten a touchdown. On the second to last play
- 12:47Speaker 3: from scrimmage, mac overthrew that ball, and then on Bourne's touchdown,
- 12:51Speaker 3: Douglas was open as well. He could have thrown a
- 12:54Speaker 3: touchdown to either one of the guys. He just threw
- 12:56Speaker 3: it to Bourne. So Douglas was great, but they are
- 12:59Speaker 3: have base turned him into discount Tyreek Hill. You know,
- 13:02Speaker 3: he's just running verticals and motion routes all over the place,
- 13:06Speaker 3: and then the motion gets married up to the running
- 13:09Speaker 3: game and now they're running the ball again, and that
- 13:11Speaker 3: that's just how the whole thing opens up. This started,
- 13:16Speaker 3: I would say, in the second half against the Raiders,
- 13:18Speaker 3: but they didn't make the changes on the line yet.
- 13:21Speaker 3: You know, like I saw it coming in the third
- 13:25Speaker 3: and fourth quarter against Vegas. They all this motion and
- 13:28Speaker 3: all the different things that all the tools that O'Brien
- 13:31Speaker 3: was starting to unlock, and I was like, you know.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Well they started the motion against Dallas right away. Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: but then the game got out.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Of hand, right, And I think, you know, with O'Brien,
- 13:41Speaker 3: it wasn't going to happen overnight. Like he had a
- 13:44Speaker 3: lot to fix and there was a lot of different
- 13:46Speaker 3: things that he wanted to install and wanted to bring here.
- 13:49Speaker 3: And I think unfortunately the losses snowballed on them so
- 13:53Speaker 3: quickly that maybe they're in a hole that they can't
- 13:56Speaker 3: dig themselves out of. But I always thought that the
- 13:59Speaker 3: second half of the season for the offense was going
- 14:01Speaker 3: to be better than the first half ones. O'Brien got
- 14:04Speaker 3: the ship up and running. Now he's got it in
- 14:07Speaker 3: a much better spot and we'll see what they look
- 14:09Speaker 3: like going forward.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's good stuff. And then on defense again
- 14:14Speaker 1: wasn't perfect. You let up the two, but they constantly
- 14:17Speaker 1: pressured alan they got him off platform, as Evan would say,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and he was forced to throw a lot of balls away.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You know. This time when he did extend plays, it did.
- 14:29Speaker 1: They didn't get hurt as much as they did in
- 14:31Speaker 1: the past. And you know, credit, I guess credit to
- 14:34Speaker 1: Steven Gerrod for dialing up what they did different ways
- 14:38Speaker 1: to get pressure. Sometimes it was Bentley, you know, Wise
- 14:41Speaker 1: was in there. Bar Moore had a game, Like, if
- 14:45Speaker 1: he keeps playing like that, that's hit it out, like
- 14:51Speaker 1: pushing it forward. I felt like replying, if you keep
- 14:55Speaker 1: playing like that, you're gonna be pushing bags forward, you know,
- 14:58Speaker 1: because you're gonna be worth a lot on it. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 1: you get it.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I think he heard induced compare him to Adam Butler
- 15:04Speaker 3: and and now he's just been playing like an absolutely no.
- 15:07Speaker 5: I mean that game was the game that I envisioned
- 15:09Speaker 5: when he was a rookie little flashes, but I haven't
- 15:12Speaker 5: really seen that Christian Barmore since ye.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Poor poor Cyrus Torrents.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And you know, I read your review, and I love
- 15:18Speaker 1: the way you put it. You know, he picked his
- 15:21Speaker 1: spots when to do his best pass rush and then
- 15:24Speaker 1: other times, you know, played the job that he was
- 15:27Speaker 1: given in just maintaining his his two gaps. You know,
- 15:32Speaker 1: I think that blend of of what he did and
- 15:35Speaker 1: when he did it was perfect.
- 15:38Speaker 7: You know, they needed it. I mean, and you know
- 15:40Speaker 7: throw Wise in there.
- 15:40Speaker 4: I mean, all these guys, I mean I think had
- 15:42Speaker 4: you know, some moments and why penalty or two, but
- 15:45Speaker 4: you know, Jennings just these guys had to step up
- 15:47Speaker 4: and we all know what what what we thought it
- 15:49Speaker 4: was going to look like when Gonzales and Jude On
- 15:50Speaker 4: and then even Ouch was out and it was like, man,
- 15:53Speaker 4: they they're going to struggle to.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Get after the passer. But I think you guys are
- 15:57Speaker 5: totally right.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Bar More just I mean they need him to continue
- 15:59Speaker 4: that against Miami this week.
- 16:01Speaker 5: With their line issues.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I mean, this is you know, potentially where they could
- 16:04Speaker 4: find something to build off.
- 16:05Speaker 5: And strangely like that was one area that Buffalo didn't
- 16:08Speaker 5: have really health issues. Their offensive line was reasonably healthy. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 5: heading into that game, the Patriots just it.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Was funny that guy o Cyrus Torrence was at the
- 16:17Speaker 4: Senior Bowl and they were just praising him like every
- 16:19Speaker 4: and I remember watching him and being like, this is
- 16:22Speaker 4: what a first round guard probably looks like, you know,
- 16:24Speaker 4: just compared to cold strange like, he just was tough
- 16:26Speaker 4: and stout.
- 16:26Speaker 5: But then Barmore took him to school. So and then
- 16:30Speaker 5: you know, don't don't watch.
- 16:32Speaker 1: The you know, in just the usage, the number of
- 16:35Speaker 1: you know, the number of snaps guys were getting seemed
- 16:38Speaker 1: like the perfect mix, you know, going back to offensepu right,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but you know, we realized that they were kind of
- 16:46Speaker 1: wasting snaps on Parker, you know, so you know, pulling
- 16:49Speaker 1: back Parker a little bit and getting whether it's Raeger
- 16:53Speaker 1: out there more or you know.
- 16:55Speaker 5: They had some speed lineups which I liked.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I like, when's speed not a good thing? And the
- 17:00Speaker 1: NFL like when doesn't that match up?
- 17:03Speaker 8: I know, I will say Fred, I don't know if
- 17:05Speaker 8: you listened to Steve Tasker when he called in from
- 17:08Speaker 8: the Bills, but he called this game to be close.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Like he was like, I don't think this is going
- 17:12Speaker 8: to be the blaw I every woe thinks it's going
- 17:14Speaker 8: to be. He was like, the way the Bills have
- 17:15Speaker 8: been playing, they've been going downwards since that Jaguars game.
- 17:19Speaker 8: So yeah, he could fall.
- 17:22Speaker 5: That's funny. Nobody in nobody in New England gave the
- 17:26Speaker 5: Patriots much of a chance. Everybody in Buffalo did, because
- 17:29Speaker 5: everybody in Buffalo the s guy is absolutely falling and
- 17:32Speaker 5: they want Ken Dorsey out.
- 17:33Speaker 1: True, rightfully, So that's a good point. It's a different perspective.
- 17:37Speaker 3: There that I understand the Bills fans gripes. I think
- 17:42Speaker 3: that they're all warranted. At this point. He finally got
- 17:46Speaker 3: a game where Josh Allen didn't play out of his mind.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Like that was I think the biggest takeaway from the defense.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Like not to take away what they did defensively to
- 17:54Speaker 3: get him there, but there are throws in this game
- 17:57Speaker 3: that Josh Allen makes in his sleep that he missed
- 17:59Speaker 3: in this one. So I don't want to like overreact
- 18:02Speaker 3: too much to Oh, they they solved the bills, they
- 18:05Speaker 3: got the game. The one thing I would say that
- 18:07Speaker 3: they did that I liked was that they blitzed him
- 18:09Speaker 3: half the time fifty percent of his dropbacks. They sent
- 18:12Speaker 3: extra pressure and they didn't just sit back in soft
- 18:15Speaker 3: zone and just you know, make them march it and
- 18:17Speaker 3: all that, because that's what they had been doing and
- 18:19Speaker 3: he was just picking them apart, you know, without any pressure.
- 18:22Speaker 3: So in this game they went after him. They did
- 18:25Speaker 3: blitz him a lot, but I couldn't count four or
- 18:27Speaker 3: five throws off the top of my head in this
- 18:30Speaker 3: game where I was like he, like, what's he doing that?
- 18:33Speaker 4: During the game, like we were watching, like, oh, here
- 18:35Speaker 4: it is. You know, they flush him out, And I
- 18:36Speaker 4: mean I do think they get some credit just because
- 18:38Speaker 4: I think they had just the timing of their rushes.
- 18:41Speaker 7: It almost just it made him miss some of the windows.
- 18:43Speaker 5: I feel like he hit somebod I don't think they would,
- 18:45Speaker 5: like to Evan's point, there was some of them. I
- 18:47Speaker 5: don't they did flush him. The pressure was the best
- 18:50Speaker 5: thing the Patriots did.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yep.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Everything else I think left a lot to be desired.
- 18:54Speaker 5: And I don't think that some of the throws he
- 18:56Speaker 5: missed worrlfully difficult throws. He just holds one of those
- 18:59Speaker 5: days just to like comparent, Like we talked about sustainability,
- 19:03Speaker 5: which I'm sure like the second hour today is going
- 19:05Speaker 5: to be about, you know, the playoff.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Train path, Paul, twelve and five in play.
- 19:09Speaker 5: And there is a path, yeah, twelve and five, yeah, five, But.
- 19:14Speaker 1: There are two games they've won so far against the
- 19:16Speaker 1: AFC East. If they beat Miami, Like, I don't that
- 19:21Speaker 1: schedules is favorable to them.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Talk to me, then talk to me. They talk to
- 19:26Speaker 5: me when they win the games. Absolutely, yeah, I mean,
- 19:28Speaker 5: like I know, but three and five, you're two games
- 19:31Speaker 5: out of the playoffs. It's a tot if they wanted.
- 19:33Speaker 5: The schedule is coming up, Paul, correct the soft underbuilding
- 19:35Speaker 5: which they're in right now. They just went one and
- 19:39Speaker 5: two in the soft part of the schedule.
- 19:40Speaker 3: No, no, no, that's the soft spots.
- 19:42Speaker 5: I'm sorry, Washington's in Vegas was a soft part of
- 19:46Speaker 5: the schedule.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I haven't played in Washington yet.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Washington Lands in Vegas were a soft part of the schedule. Washington, Washington,
- 19:53Speaker 3: and Washington. Indeed, Giants, Chargers right, all under five hundred.
- 19:58Speaker 3: So if they if they w I'm just saying, like,
- 20:00Speaker 3: if we want to talk about it, like if they.
- 20:02Speaker 5: Were in relation to five hundred with the are the
- 20:05Speaker 5: Saints and the Raiders under I don't.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I don't agree those games were easier, but you always
- 20:10Speaker 3: had after that, Mike.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll be with I'm with you. Now now they
- 20:15Speaker 5: figure if they if they win these guess well, that's
- 20:17Speaker 5: different now. But now you're changing the narrative if something
- 20:21Speaker 5: happens that hasn't happened, I know.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But if they I'm in But if they figured it
- 20:25Speaker 1: out and they had to play all the top echelon
- 20:27Speaker 1: teams coming up, I'd be like, but they have a
- 20:29Speaker 1: chance to like kind of get back to the middle
- 20:32Speaker 1: in terms of five hundred.
- 20:33Speaker 3: You know, five and five at the Buyers and play,
- 20:35Speaker 3: they could they could in play?
- 20:37Speaker 5: Well, yes, when you only have five games and we're
- 20:39Speaker 5: not you only have five losses. It's in frends. Twelve
- 20:42Speaker 5: and five is in play. They've only lost five games.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Okay, but twelve and five is ridiculous.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Okay, five and five at the buy not really like that.
- 20:54Speaker 1: No one's penciling them in. I'm just saying it's a
- 20:57Speaker 1: possible before.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Literally just it.
- 21:01Speaker 1: He said it's a possibility.
- 21:02Speaker 5: He said it.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I was joking about it. But yeah, no, it's if
- 21:07Speaker 3: you would, If you, that's I can't you you. But
- 21:12Speaker 3: in all seriousness, though, like you don't feel good if
- 21:15Speaker 3: they I feel great about Sunday. You know, I'm not
- 21:17Speaker 3: talking about this week. But if you don't, if they
- 21:20Speaker 3: you don't feel good about Washington and Indie.
- 21:25Speaker 5: But winning both of those games, and you asked me
- 21:27Speaker 5: right now, No, I'll say this little just like I
- 21:29Speaker 5: did against New Orleans in Vegas.
- 21:31Speaker 3: They should get split those teams.
- 21:33Speaker 5: I just don't know why.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not there.
- 21:36Speaker 5: I will win, like just change.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I'm not there yet.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Everything I've seen in seven games. One game just changed.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I started out by saying if they beat Miami then
- 21:45Speaker 1: that we could get on a roll. Yeah, that's because
- 21:47Speaker 1: because the because the schedule favors that I.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Still would look at the next two as being probably
- 21:53Speaker 5: a split.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Listen right now, you got Miami's like a ten point favorite,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and they should be. They should be.
- 22:01Speaker 5: That's all.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I'm just saying. If you can upset Miami in Miami,
- 22:05Speaker 1: hold on, now, hold on.
- 22:07Speaker 3: I just like, but I don't even know if they
- 22:08Speaker 3: have to beat Miami. Well, that's my point. Like, if
- 22:11Speaker 3: you if you lose to Miami, but you're competitive against
- 22:16Speaker 3: Miami and you kind of go toe to toe with
- 22:17Speaker 3: them a little bit the next four games in the schedule,
- 22:21Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Paul. They're not good teams. It's Washington indeed,
- 22:25Speaker 3: Giant Chargers, you're not either, Okay, But like they if
- 22:28Speaker 3: they've found something and they flipped the switch.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Here off, that's different. That's something happens that it hasn't
- 22:36Speaker 5: happened yet.
- 22:36Speaker 3: If they lose a thirty five thirty game to Miami,
- 22:39Speaker 3: and then we're.
- 22:39Speaker 5: All going so just saying, if no, no, no, if they
- 22:43Speaker 5: flip a switch and play at a level that they
- 22:46Speaker 5: haven't played yet, yeah, that's different. Then I'll say I'm
- 22:49Speaker 5: not going to sit there and say no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 22:51Speaker 5: you're wrong, you're wrong. They didn't play well. But but
- 22:52Speaker 5: he followed Sunday they played. Well, if they played the
- 22:55Speaker 5: next five games like they played Sunday, I think they
- 22:58Speaker 5: they're in there.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I said, if you go down to Miami and your
- 23:01Speaker 1: toe to toe with them.
- 23:02Speaker 5: He didn't even say when I need to see the
- 23:04Speaker 5: toe to toe Like people think they went toe to
- 23:06Speaker 5: toe in week two, I don't think they did.
- 23:08Speaker 1: If what we think they've learned this game shows up
- 23:11Speaker 1: in Miami, hold.
- 23:13Speaker 5: On, So all right, this is what I would say, like,
- 23:16Speaker 5: hold on when you when you look, when you look
- 23:19Speaker 5: at these I don't know why he always always goes spoken.
- 23:29Speaker 5: So like the Buffalo, the Buffalo game that they're talking
- 23:32Speaker 5: about firing coordinators, they're talking about Josh Allen just didn't
- 23:37Speaker 5: have a game, and you look at the game at
- 23:39Speaker 5: the end of the day and the statuard like dead.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Even one team played as well as it's played in
- 23:44Speaker 5: about two and a half years, another team is looking
- 23:47Speaker 5: to fire people. This is my point that that's my
- 23:49Speaker 5: only point.
- 23:50Speaker 3: No, you're you're right, you're right. I just one I
- 23:54Speaker 3: want to believe.
- 23:55Speaker 5: I want to believe. Well, that's the whole time. That's
- 23:57Speaker 5: why Fred was like, actually it wasn't for it was Matt.
- 24:00Speaker 5: Matt comes to me yesterday, he goes, Okay, why don't
- 24:03Speaker 5: you rain in my parade? I go, I got not.
- 24:05Speaker 5: I have no rain at all. I said, the Patriots.
- 24:08Speaker 5: This is kind of this is no, no, no, I'm
- 24:11Speaker 5: talking about Sunday, the Patriots on Sunday. I'm happy to
- 24:15Speaker 5: talk about any superlative coming out of the game Sunday
- 24:18Speaker 5: that anybody took away. I think the Patriots were a
- 24:21Speaker 5: better team for sixty minutes on Sunday, and they almost
- 24:24Speaker 5: lost the game because of one mistake, which shows you
- 24:28Speaker 5: how small their margin of error can be.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but I didn't think i'd see what I saw
- 24:33Speaker 1: on some.
- 24:33Speaker 5: I didn't either, So that's why I'm not I'm not
- 24:36Speaker 5: raining on any parade about Sunday.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I'm opening the window a little bit.
- 24:39Speaker 10: Oh yeah, it's cracking. It's it's it's to me. I
- 24:44Speaker 10: wish I had you as a college professor.
- 24:47Speaker 5: But it becomes you got a seven, did nothing in
- 24:50Speaker 5: the seven classes that we had, but you came to
- 24:52Speaker 5: the eighth one and you did well. That's an a
- 24:55Speaker 5: thanks super Bowl.
- 24:56Speaker 3: But like I think it comes down to, it comes
- 24:59Speaker 3: down to O'Brien.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Like you.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Knew that it was going to be bumpy to start.
- 25:03Speaker 3: You had to have known that, Like they didn't have
- 25:05Speaker 3: a lot of talent on offense. Mac needed to be
- 25:08Speaker 3: put back together, he needed to figure out the offensive line,
- 25:11Speaker 3: and unfortunately they just went one in five. Like I
- 25:14Speaker 3: think that if you asked true Sierram Bill Belichick, he
- 25:17Speaker 3: would have said, like, we were going to hope the
- 25:19Speaker 3: defense was going to carry us and we were going
- 25:21Speaker 3: to tread water in the first six or seven games
- 25:23Speaker 3: of the season, and they just bottomed out.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Like that's the difference, right.
- 25:26Speaker 1: They bottom That's the thing is like it was going
- 25:29Speaker 1: this way, it's going downhill, until yesterday it was going
- 25:32Speaker 1: in the wrong direction.
- 25:34Speaker 8: Yeah, And I feel like, you know, they obviously could
- 25:35Speaker 8: not predict that Christian Gonzales, Matthew Junon, all the Joneses
- 25:38Speaker 8: were all going to be hurt. Like I feel like
- 25:40Speaker 8: they didn't predict that.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Injuries never helped.
- 25:43Speaker 8: And it's like when you when you depended on when
- 25:46Speaker 8: he depended on relying on the defense, I think this
- 25:49Speaker 8: is where he ended up in trouble.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I just think that they they didn't There's no way,
- 25:56Speaker 3: even as as limited as they can be at times,
- 25:59Speaker 3: offensively that they thought they were going to be thirty
- 26:02Speaker 3: second in the league and scoring through six six weeks,
- 26:05Speaker 3: there's no way. So they probably figured that, Okay, we're
- 26:08Speaker 3: going to be probably where we were last year on
- 26:10Speaker 3: offense until O'Brien figures this thing out and maximizes what
- 26:15Speaker 3: he has. And then I really think over the last
- 26:17Speaker 3: six quarters he's come pretty darn close to maximizing what
- 26:20Speaker 3: they have. And now you get Pop Douglas back from
- 26:22Speaker 3: the injury you kick on when who back out to tackle,
- 26:25Speaker 3: and like, let's see what happens. Like I'm I'm I
- 26:29Speaker 3: kind of thought that this is how it was going
- 26:31Speaker 3: to go offensively all along, but I was just hoping
- 26:34Speaker 3: that they could keep it together with the defense through
- 26:37Speaker 3: the first six weeks, and unfortunately they started one and five.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I hear what EV's saying.
- 26:43Speaker 4: I just I mean, I just worry that they get
- 26:45Speaker 4: into a twelve point hole again or you know, fourteen
- 26:48Speaker 4: point hole again, and all of a sudden, we're out
- 26:49Speaker 4: of the game plan and we can't do the things
- 26:51Speaker 4: we want to do, and now all our awards come out,
- 26:53Speaker 4: like you know, there's a lot left to prove, and like, yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 4: I think we did expect a little bit of clunkiness
- 26:58Speaker 4: early on, and I think maybe went on longer than
- 27:00Speaker 4: it should have with the play of the offensive line.
- 27:02Speaker 4: But I'm not you know, I'm not like, all right,
- 27:04Speaker 4: we turned the corner and now we're here, like.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I'll go back to how I started. Maybe next time,
- 27:09Speaker 1: if you go behind by ten or twelve, maybe the
- 27:12Speaker 1: line holds up a little bit. Even when the team
- 27:14Speaker 1: knows you have to throw. Maybe this configuration of the
- 27:17Speaker 1: line is a little better so that you have a
- 27:20Speaker 1: puncher's chance of, you know, putting some together where in
- 27:23Speaker 1: the past you had no shot.
- 27:25Speaker 5: I know.
- 27:25Speaker 4: And that's I mean, I think as as Paul was
- 27:27Speaker 4: hinting at, I mean, I really like what they did.
- 27:29Speaker 4: I like him when you're there, I think, you know,
- 27:30Speaker 4: Cities put together two couple of good weeks.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Like I mean, he looks like a player inside. I
- 27:35Speaker 5: like him. Do you think that that was like that
- 27:37Speaker 5: much better like the past protection in that game? I
- 27:41Speaker 5: just think it was a product of the score. Well
- 27:43Speaker 5: I'm sure, yeah, I think And now listen when they
- 27:47Speaker 5: got hot in twenty twenty one, that's how they did it.
- 27:50Speaker 5: But they played a lot of games like they did Sunday.
- 27:53Speaker 5: They got the lead, they made the other team chase them,
- 27:56Speaker 5: they were able to protect, and they like, I'm not
- 27:58Speaker 5: telling you that can't happen Sunday, But against Miami isn't the.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Most important thing, not like, you know, the evidence that
- 28:04Speaker 1: the line was better. But what Mac thinks.
- 28:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think he felt really comfortable was my point.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Okay, but I agree, well, I think there were times
- 28:12Speaker 1: are he panicked?
- 28:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and Ran, I mean, I'm still looking down At
- 28:17Speaker 4: the point I was getting to was that I think
- 28:19Speaker 4: strangers continues to be.
- 28:21Speaker 1: But when they look at that tape and they say, Mac,
- 28:23Speaker 1: you had you had a couple of seconds here, you
- 28:26Speaker 1: didn't have to like, yeah, that's gonna help.
- 28:30Speaker 3: The one thing I think that was encouraging about. You know,
- 28:33Speaker 3: I thought for the first three quarters Mack was fine
- 28:35Speaker 3: in this game. I didn't really think he was anything special,
- 28:38Speaker 3: and I thought that he was looking at the rush
- 28:39Speaker 3: a lot throughout the game. But in the fourth quarter,
- 28:43Speaker 3: when the money was on the line, he stood in
- 28:45Speaker 3: there and I think he said to himself, either it's
- 28:48Speaker 3: gonna blow up in my face or I'm gonna win
- 28:51Speaker 3: the game. But either way, I can't be scared.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I can't go.
- 28:55Speaker 5: It was huge, Like the biggest play of the game
- 28:57Speaker 5: was to me, the third down throw to Hunter Henry. Yeah,
- 29:00Speaker 5: and the pressure that came immediate was blindside. He never
- 29:03Speaker 5: knew it was there. Yeah, Like if that was like
- 29:05Speaker 5: up the middle the way it had been against so
- 29:07Speaker 5: in strange, you know, earlier or front side. I wonder,
- 29:11Speaker 5: I wonder if the throw would have been the same
- 29:13Speaker 5: because if he had any idea how close Epaneso was
- 29:17Speaker 5: to a strip sack there, I don't know if that
- 29:21Speaker 5: play ends the same way.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he made some good throws in this game in
- 29:27Speaker 3: his muddy year.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Posets out standing in the fourth yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 3: And was great in the fourth quarter. But and what
- 29:32Speaker 3: I think was most encouraging too, was he made a
- 29:35Speaker 3: lot of like second and third read throws. Like I
- 29:37Speaker 3: think that some of the throws that he's made, even
- 29:39Speaker 3: over the last couple of weeks when he hasn't been
- 29:41Speaker 3: playing great, have just been first reads, open balls out
- 29:45Speaker 3: quickly and we're moving this game, you know. He was
- 29:48Speaker 3: able to get off the first read and get his
- 29:50Speaker 3: eyes too, number two and two, number three and make
- 29:53Speaker 3: throws throughout the progressions. And that was something that I
- 29:56Speaker 3: hadn't really seen him do for like a month was
- 29:58Speaker 3: move off that you know, staring down receivers, looking at
- 30:01Speaker 3: the first read and kind of having tunnel vision for guys.
- 30:04Speaker 3: And in this game, you know the throw to Pop
- 30:06Speaker 3: Douglas in the first half off the play action. That
- 30:09Speaker 3: play is set up to hit Kendrick Bourne in the
- 30:12Speaker 3: flat on a little whip route and it's covered and
- 30:14Speaker 3: he comes off it gets to Douglas in the middle
- 30:16Speaker 3: of the field, makes the throw. So those are the
- 30:18Speaker 3: encouraging things Like that's when you know a quarterback is
- 30:21Speaker 3: trusting the pocket a little bit more is when it's
- 30:23Speaker 3: not just first read in panic, right, Like, it's that
- 30:26Speaker 3: you actually are able to sit there and go through
- 30:28Speaker 3: a progression. And he was able to do that in
- 30:30Speaker 3: this game.
- 30:30Speaker 1: So listen, And I'm not kidding myself. I'm thrilled with
- 30:34Speaker 1: the win. But they're not that great. They're not that
- 30:38Speaker 1: good a team right now, and I think this test
- 30:41Speaker 1: going on, Miami's going to be tougher than home against
- 30:44Speaker 1: the Bills.
- 30:45Speaker 5: Like I think you have a shot. I do because
- 30:48Speaker 5: I think Miami's in a tough spot and I think
- 30:50Speaker 5: that they're real I mean I know, listen, I know
- 30:53Speaker 5: we've fixated so much on that injury report, which I
- 30:55Speaker 5: think is largely fiction. Like there's seventeen guys questionable, they
- 30:59Speaker 5: all play. It's like one guy that didn't play where
- 31:02Speaker 5: I think people are looking at that they were missing
- 31:04Speaker 5: Judean and Gonzales, Like the other team had four starters
- 31:09Speaker 5: on defense that was not playing. Like everybody is dealing
- 31:12Speaker 5: with the same thing, and Miami's dealing with the same thing.
- 31:15Speaker 1: That you are.
- 31:16Speaker 5: So I think you got a shot to go down there.
- 31:18Speaker 5: If they're missing three, they're missing left tackle, left guard,
- 31:21Speaker 5: and center again where they were Sunday night. You can
- 31:24Speaker 5: get heat on tour and do the same thing to
- 31:26Speaker 5: him that you did to Josh Allen.
- 31:28Speaker 8: And especially if Watle is TBD with a back injury too,
- 31:31Speaker 8: that could be helpful if he also doesn't play.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like all these teams have stuff.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Two of their best defensive players banged into each other
- 31:38Speaker 5: in the middle of the game. My guess is, like
- 31:40Speaker 5: David Long didn't return, I guess he's out. He's probably
- 31:43Speaker 5: in concussion protocol.
- 31:44Speaker 11: Now.
- 31:44Speaker 5: Holland I think did return. Jevon Holland, so I think,
- 31:48Speaker 5: you know he only missed four plays in the game,
- 31:50Speaker 5: so I think he'll probably play. But like, there's a
- 31:52Speaker 5: lot of key personnel on all of these teams. Patriots included.
- 31:58Speaker 8: It.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Around the league, a lot of crazy games.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Is Oh my gosh, I don't know how you guys
- 32:03Speaker 4: know the games are also fixed.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Boy convinced. How bad did we do this week?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Oh my god, everybody was bad? This was this was frightening, epic.
- 32:11Speaker 7: Yeah, epically bad against Man.
- 32:14Speaker 5: The Dolphins really took it. They took it bad Sunday night. Yeah,
- 32:19Speaker 5: ten penalties to none.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, I thought. I had a conspiracy theory.
- 32:24Speaker 1: This was the Caleb Williams effect. This weekend. A lot
- 32:27Speaker 1: of one win teams said, you know what, we don't
- 32:29Speaker 1: have to have the top pick, so let's try And
- 32:32Speaker 1: seems annoying Minnesota, you know, well didn't didn't didn't They
- 32:37Speaker 1: both did both didn't him and Drake may Louse last
- 32:39Speaker 1: weekend too. Yeah, so like, you know, you know what,
- 32:41Speaker 1: let's win some games.
- 32:42Speaker 4: It's it's funny though, like I just I'm trying to
- 32:44Speaker 4: just appreciate this win right now, because it's like, you know,
- 32:47Speaker 4: it's so easy to be like, well, they have this
- 32:49Speaker 4: coming up and then like this is then and like
- 32:51Speaker 4: they could these.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Guys there, you know, get so fat.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Like I just am trying to hold on to just
- 32:55Speaker 4: the excitement from this win, the good energy right now,
- 32:58Speaker 4: and certainly Miami's on my mind, but like thinking about
- 33:01Speaker 4: Washington and Indie and you know, it's like I can't
- 33:04Speaker 4: get there yet. I just I want to enjoy this one.
- 33:05Speaker 4: I want to look at this week on Wednesday, key yea, make.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Sure well the mood in the locker room that's been
- 33:12Speaker 3: I mean this week, it concerns me on one level
- 33:15Speaker 3: because I feel like, like I said that earlier, that
- 33:17Speaker 3: the Super Bowl comment, like the postgame locker room felt
- 33:20Speaker 3: like they just want a playoff game, and it's like
- 33:22Speaker 3: you're still two and five, Like it's not like lose
- 33:25Speaker 3: sight of the fact that you still gotta.
- 33:29Speaker 5: I can appreciate might be going to the playoffs, but
- 33:33Speaker 5: I think I think you're but I did.
- 33:36Speaker 8: I know.
- 33:36Speaker 1: There will still a lot of talk about Bill Belichick.
- 33:39Speaker 1: But this is where having a coach like Bill Belichick
- 33:42Speaker 1: is key, because he knows that he knows how to
- 33:46Speaker 1: temper that locker room. You know, let them have their
- 33:49Speaker 1: day and night. But back to work on Whenday work.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Will that be the best thing for this team?
- 33:56Speaker 3: Yeah, this team might need to feel itself a little bit.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I think that they might need a continuation of that.
- 34:02Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I've been telling you guys how good you are.
- 34:04Speaker 4: But that's why I think it's good that they have
- 34:05Speaker 4: a Miami team that will have their full attention. Like
- 34:07Speaker 4: if they had like a Washington team or you know,
- 34:10Speaker 4: a team just nothing against Washington. Is just a team
- 34:12Speaker 4: that not really usually playing you just usually traditionally sting Washington.
- 34:16Speaker 1: But don't you think they would.
- 34:17Speaker 5: Lay in it like they might? They might be like,
- 34:19Speaker 5: well we got it now, we got it all figured out,
- 34:20Speaker 5: and then the team I just don't think, you know,
- 34:22Speaker 5: like I don't think when they lose they laid an egg.
- 34:24Speaker 5: That's the difference between me and everybody else in Boston.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Like when the Red Sox lose five in a row,
- 34:28Speaker 5: I don't think they're struggling. I think they're not that good. Well,
- 34:31Speaker 5: they could lose different ways. I mean they could, you know,
- 34:33Speaker 5: I think no, I'd see it.
- 34:34Speaker 4: But they could also just come out and play crappy
- 34:36Speaker 4: because they kind of took the foot off the gas.
- 34:38Speaker 5: But like I don't know. I just I mean, I
- 34:40Speaker 5: see what you're saying. Of course they could have a
- 34:41Speaker 5: straight up game, and just like I don't I don't
- 34:43Speaker 5: think the Patriots won because Buffalo laid an egg on Sun. No,
- 34:45Speaker 5: and that's not I'm pretty consistent on both sides of that, right.
- 34:49Speaker 5: I think the Patriots one because the Patriots played well, no,
- 34:51Speaker 5: you're grasping onto laying an egg and I'm just saying like, no, no, no.
- 34:53Speaker 11: Not you.
- 34:54Speaker 1: This is what they don't play.
- 34:56Speaker 5: This is like the Royal n not necessarily might do.
- 34:59Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, oh, I don't know.
- 35:01Speaker 4: I just I like the matchup this week because it's
- 35:03Speaker 4: it's it's an immediate like truth again. It's it's not like,
- 35:06Speaker 4: all right, well now we got to beat the Jets
- 35:07Speaker 4: this week, and that's a whole different thing.
- 35:09Speaker 5: You know, that's a whole different kind of pressure.
- 35:11Speaker 8: Now.
- 35:11Speaker 7: It's like you have a high flying Miami offense now
- 35:13Speaker 7: that you know you haven't beaten to us.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That's and I like it. It's a team you know,
- 35:19Speaker 1: you know you have to beat them. It's in your division.
- 35:21Speaker 1: You lost already to them, you know, if they beat
- 35:25Speaker 1: Miami all three wins against a f C East Patriots
- 35:29Speaker 1: run the East.
- 35:30Speaker 9: Remind me of your key from starts.
- 35:33Speaker 5: Right, give you the whole, the whole poem. Oh gosh.
- 35:38Speaker 7: It was like get a score and a stop and
- 35:41Speaker 7: see if we can something.
- 35:42Speaker 1: I got it.
- 35:45Speaker 9: I thought about it like after the came key.
- 35:49Speaker 5: It was literally start with a stop and a score
- 35:51Speaker 5: to see if we can pick ourselves up off the floor.
- 35:55Speaker 9: Rhythm, and of course it was his guy. I got
- 35:59Speaker 9: the stop.
- 36:00Speaker 7: I will, I will Hardy, you know, Hardy hard to
- 36:02Speaker 7: come around.
- 36:02Speaker 3: You got to come around on Jabriel Paul.
- 36:04Speaker 5: Oh, he's played well.
- 36:05Speaker 3: The guy's playing out of his mind.
- 36:07Speaker 1: He's making play.
- 36:08Speaker 5: I think he's played well all year. I bust his Yeah,
- 36:10Speaker 5: you know what. I think he's a chippy, dirty player.
- 36:14Speaker 5: You know that's different dirty. I think Rodney Harrison was,
- 36:17Speaker 5: and he's my favorite guys chippy and dirty. I think
- 36:22Speaker 5: he's dirty. I think the NFL would agree based on
- 36:24Speaker 5: his wallet.
- 36:25Speaker 4: We were we were talking about Pepper's on PFF because
- 36:27Speaker 4: I was like, they didn't give him a mist tackle
- 36:30Speaker 4: on that on that touchdown, and.
- 36:31Speaker 5: So I was talking to and I'm like, he's good,
- 36:34Speaker 5: Why would we do that?
- 36:35Speaker 4: And so I haven't explained it to me, like, you know,
- 36:36Speaker 4: the pff math of at all of why they don't
- 36:38Speaker 4: credit that as a miss tackle, But it was just
- 36:40Speaker 4: one of those funny ones where and I said in
- 36:42Speaker 4: the post game, like, you gotta be honest.
- 36:43Speaker 5: But I think he's a little boom playing.
- 36:45Speaker 4: But for the whole year, I think it's the energy
- 36:47Speaker 4: he brings and the fact that you know in that
- 36:48Speaker 4: post game video, like how often do you see somebody
- 36:51Speaker 4: kind of hijacket for a second and and insert their
- 36:54Speaker 4: two cents before you know, Slater takes over to do
- 36:56Speaker 4: the thing.
- 36:56Speaker 3: So yeah, no, I yeah, So they can talk about
- 37:00Speaker 3: that conspiracy, but I just think that the postgame energy,
- 37:05Speaker 3: Like my my whole thing was I don't know if
- 37:08Speaker 3: it comes down to the head coach, like, but that
- 37:11Speaker 3: a team that doesn't believe in their quarterback and head
- 37:13Speaker 3: coach anymore, that doesn't win that game, right, like a
- 37:16Speaker 3: team that's completely let go of faith of the whole thing.
- 37:19Speaker 3: I don't know if they win that game.
- 37:20Speaker 5: That's a point.
- 37:21Speaker 3: And I think most importantly just watching was it. Evan
- 37:25Speaker 3: Washbourne like tried to interview Mac and it took him
- 37:27Speaker 3: like twenty minutes because every single player on the Patriots
- 37:31Speaker 3: was coming up to Mac after the game to dap
- 37:35Speaker 3: him up, Like every single.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Guy, I think they felt for him.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, And I think that Dad tells you a
- 37:41Speaker 3: locker room that knows he's taken a lot of heat,
- 37:44Speaker 3: like from people like us especially, and and is behind him,
- 37:47Speaker 3: you know. And I know know some of those guys
- 37:50Speaker 3: are really close with him off the field too, and
- 37:52Speaker 3: I think that they care about it.
- 37:54Speaker 5: But I never I never really questioned effort and I
- 37:56Speaker 5: still don't know. Now I do wonder a little bit
- 37:59Speaker 5: about belief, but but this is a win for one
- 38:02Speaker 5: for one day. For one day, they had belief. When
- 38:05Speaker 5: you when you've done it, it's like the Parcels thing,
- 38:08Speaker 5: it's like demonstrated ability. So now you've done it, you
- 38:12Speaker 5: don't have to say if we can just do this,
- 38:15Speaker 5: you point to something, your point, Well, we did that
- 38:17Speaker 5: against Buffalo. We won the fourth QT. You know, we
- 38:20Speaker 5: had two fourth quarter touchdown drives against Buffalo. That's so
- 38:24Speaker 5: we did it. There's no need to wonder if they
- 38:26Speaker 5: can do it. They've done it.
- 38:29Speaker 1: And you know, for some of these younger guys like
- 38:32Speaker 1: City Soo and to Mario Douglas and you know, is
- 38:36Speaker 1: it so or so. So you know, hey, I can
- 38:41Speaker 1: do this.
- 38:41Speaker 13: I have a role here.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I'm contributing to wins.
- 38:44Speaker 11: You know.
- 38:45Speaker 1: That's that's great stuff.
- 38:46Speaker 7: I think to like not to like winning a game
- 38:48Speaker 7: at home, like you know, they have one game at
- 38:50Speaker 7: home this year.
- 38:51Speaker 4: That's just something that you know, you you experience the
- 38:54Speaker 4: fans and the energy from the fans, and I mean
- 38:56Speaker 4: it was just a I mean, going even back to
- 38:58Speaker 4: the Hall of Fame induction, it was just it was
- 39:00Speaker 4: a really good Patriots weekend. I feel like, and you know,
- 39:03Speaker 4: everyone's making fun of me about the good vibes from
- 39:05Speaker 4: the Hall of Fame, so but you know, it's just
- 39:07Speaker 4: it was a good weekend to be a Patriots fan
- 39:08Speaker 4: for the first time that.
- 39:09Speaker 9: Felt like this was this is like the first time
- 39:11Speaker 9: in a long time that I haven't seen fans leave
- 39:12Speaker 9: at halftime.
- 39:13Speaker 3: And don't come back like everyone stayed to Yeah.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I mean, this was the featured game in Germany, you know,
- 39:20Speaker 1: so it was good for our German fans. You know,
- 39:23Speaker 1: that was big.
- 39:24Speaker 11: That was big.
- 39:24Speaker 5: That was where the belief came from. That's right, the
- 39:27Speaker 5: featured game.
- 39:27Speaker 3: They knew Germany was watching for Deutsch.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Lenn the Father end.
- 39:33Speaker 1: So good stuff.
- 39:34Speaker 3: I'm back in. They pulled me back in just just
- 39:37Speaker 3: like that, Just write that.
- 39:42Speaker 5: I just enjoyed Sunday.
- 39:44Speaker 1: You saw them, you know again, the play calling they executed,
- 39:48Speaker 1: what the play calls were, You saw some potential and players.
- 39:53Speaker 1: So why not get excited?
- 39:55Speaker 5: You know, I'm with you.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Why not?
- 39:56Speaker 5: I'm with you.
- 39:58Speaker 1: What's worst case? They go down to Miami and get
- 40:01Speaker 1: their doors blown off and we're back to where we were.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Just we've trashed them every single week on this show
- 40:07Speaker 3: and totally rightfully so, so I'm coming in here and
- 40:10Speaker 3: I'm telling you they played well. They had a good
- 40:12Speaker 3: game plan. The offensive coordinator made his paycheck or whatever
- 40:17Speaker 3: that saying is. You know, like they got their money's
- 40:20Speaker 3: worth of Bill O'Brien, and the quarterback didn't lose you
- 40:23Speaker 3: the game, and then he wanted for you a d.
- 40:25Speaker 5: And he was largely responsible for you winning.
- 40:27Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 9: Yeah, and it was Bill's three hundredth career.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Good stuff.
- 40:34Speaker 5: Did you see what Dig said after the game? He
- 40:37Speaker 5: wants out?
- 40:37Speaker 7: No, he said nothing, because he just tucks his tail
- 40:39Speaker 7: and runs.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's something he's on. He's on my radar. Like
- 40:46Speaker 3: that relationship between him and Josh Allen is on my
- 40:50Speaker 3: unhappy well when you miss him for touchdowns like multiple times,
- 40:54Speaker 3: I can understand why.
- 40:55Speaker 5: I mean, but he's unhappy.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and bigger reasons, I kid, But and he's a
- 41:00Speaker 4: he's a really good player. Like just that that double
- 41:02Speaker 4: move we kind of saw coming from above.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Double move.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Don't drop the ball to thirty yardline. You're throwing a
- 41:07Speaker 5: regular passing to the end zone at the end.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he did, true, he had that ball.
- 41:11Speaker 3: It was a tougher catch than it looked like.
- 41:14Speaker 5: I didn't think.
- 41:15Speaker 1: But that's why he's great.
- 41:16Speaker 5: Supposed to make, supposed to make that.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Yeah, all right. Five.
- 41:19Speaker 5: I gotta give Dawson Knox a little bit of slack too.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Evidently he's surgery on his wrist. Maybe that's why playing
- 41:27Speaker 5: with a broken arm, he's playing the long game. Yeah,
- 41:30Speaker 5: I mean, I gotta yeah, I gotta call space. That's
- 41:33Speaker 5: maybe extenuating circumstances there.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Eight five five PATS five hundred is the a stick
- 41:38Speaker 1: and hotline web radio at patries dot com. Is the
- 41:40Speaker 1: email address? All right? Should we turn it to the listeners? Sure?
- 41:43Speaker 5: All right, we'll open it up positivity right.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Eric is in New Jersey.
- 41:48Speaker 13: What's up, Eric, I'm sorry.
- 41:51Speaker 15: I mean, I gotta Paul, I thank you for being
- 41:54Speaker 15: the voice of reasons, you know, two and five team.
- 41:57Speaker 15: You know, you gotta be happy for Mac. You know,
- 41:58Speaker 15: I don't think he's a long term answer. And I
- 42:01Speaker 15: just think you saw it last night herk cousin. I
- 42:04Speaker 15: think that's you know, if he plays at the pinnacle
- 42:06Speaker 15: of his game. I just don't think that that's sustainable
- 42:08Speaker 15: with this roster and where he's at.
- 42:11Speaker 14: I mean, do you think this win, now that.
- 42:13Speaker 15: You know the team's kind of rejuvenated, you know, does
- 42:15Speaker 15: to stop this team from you know, you know, trading
- 42:18Speaker 15: off an asset to you know, game one for next year.
- 42:20Speaker 15: What's your thoughts on that?
- 42:22Speaker 1: Okay, assuming that they ever would, it's a good question.
- 42:26Speaker 5: I don't think that there's just.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Change anything for the trading, you know, the trade deadline out.
- 42:31Speaker 5: There, Like I don't think that they were in that
- 42:36Speaker 5: market anyway, But if they were, do you think it
- 42:39Speaker 5: should change it? I feel the same like if I
- 42:42Speaker 5: if I had a plan to trade like it depends
- 42:45Speaker 5: born at the deadline, winning that game wouldn't change my mind.
- 42:48Speaker 5: But I don't think they have a plan to change
- 42:50Speaker 5: line again. One week from today, So.
- 42:54Speaker 1: One week from today, So after the Miami game, if
- 42:58Speaker 1: they win the Miami game and they trade, that would
- 43:00Speaker 1: be deflating.
- 43:01Speaker 5: If they beat Miami, are they buyers?
- 43:03Speaker 14: No?
- 43:04Speaker 1: No, no, I wouldn't do that either. But like, imagine
- 43:07Speaker 1: winning the game and then assuming you win, boy probably
- 43:10Speaker 1: had a good game.
- 43:11Speaker 5: And I would agree with you, like that would be
- 43:14Speaker 5: a bad look if they won the game, and you
- 43:16Speaker 5: could be like me, like the wet blanket and say,
- 43:18Speaker 5: well that just three and five. But if you beat
- 43:21Speaker 5: Buffalo in Miami and then you come out of that
- 43:23Speaker 5: and you trade like quality.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Pieces, that that's deflating.
- 43:27Speaker 5: That's bad.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that.
- 43:29Speaker 5: I don't think there's any chance of that happening, but
- 43:30Speaker 5: that would be bad.
- 43:31Speaker 3: I never thought that there was any chance of them
- 43:33Speaker 3: this whole like sell sell, sell, like sell what they
- 43:36Speaker 3: don't like, what you don't have anything, Like you're gonna
- 43:40Speaker 3: trade Josh for a fourth round pick, Like is that really?
- 43:42Speaker 5: Like what is that worth it?
- 43:44Speaker 3: If he plays well in the second half of the season,
- 43:46Speaker 3: you're gonna get a third round compick for him if
- 43:48Speaker 3: he signs a big deal in free agencies, So what
- 43:50Speaker 3: are you trading him for? Like piling day three picks right,
- 43:53Speaker 3: Like what that that whole like the Patriots should be
- 43:56Speaker 3: you know, for sale sign fire, Like what do you say,
- 44:00Speaker 3: Like I I just every especially because all your assets
- 44:03Speaker 3: are probably at the lowest value of this they're ever
- 44:06Speaker 3: gonna be Like I maybe if you can convince but
- 44:11Speaker 3: like if you could, you could have convinced me if
- 44:14Speaker 3: like somebody was playing really like if was having a
- 44:16Speaker 3: good first half, but he's on a contract year and
- 44:19Speaker 3: they're one and six, Like, okay, fine, Like if you
- 44:21Speaker 3: don't see him in there in the future, but every
- 44:23Speaker 3: single time a guy plays well, like you know, Christian Barmore, now,
- 44:27Speaker 3: oh he's a good trade ass Like do you want
- 44:28Speaker 3: them to have any good players in twenty twenty four?
- 44:31Speaker 5: He's got another year. He's not answering the last year
- 44:33Speaker 5: of his deal.
- 44:34Speaker 3: You know, he's got one more year.
- 44:36Speaker 5: You could get a year and a half of really
- 44:37Speaker 5: quality play out of him, and then you know, see
- 44:39Speaker 5: if you can we just.
- 44:40Speaker 3: I've gotten so many of you know, these calls, these
- 44:43Speaker 3: questions of like what could the you know, could they
- 44:45Speaker 3: be sellers?
- 44:46Speaker 5: What could they sell?
- 44:46Speaker 3: It's not baseball, Like you can't just start problem.
- 44:49Speaker 5: The problem with people that are asking those questions, and
- 44:53Speaker 5: I would ask the questions too, But I think that
- 44:55Speaker 5: they think, well, you can trade Kendrick Born for a
- 44:58Speaker 5: second round pick because Muhammad to New came for a
- 45:00Speaker 5: second round pick, do you know what I mean? And
- 45:03Speaker 5: I don't think when people look at those deals as
- 45:05Speaker 5: that that was a bad ed.
- 45:06Speaker 1: You trade mac in a first round pick for Trey
- 45:10Speaker 1: Lance and Deebo Samuel?
- 45:11Speaker 5: What Lance is not on the little three way little
- 45:15Speaker 5: three three teams Dallas.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Now now we're the NBA, we got three team.
- 45:21Speaker 9: It would have to be what Trey Lance and CD Lamb?
- 45:26Speaker 5: Yeah click. Now I don't I'm I don't know, I don't.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I just somehow want to get Deebo.
- 45:31Speaker 9: I was going to say.
- 45:35Speaker 3: All these like you know when you Dugger, Like okay,
- 45:39Speaker 3: maybe like Kyle Duggar's value could not be any lower.
- 45:42Speaker 3: He's not had a good start to the season. So
- 45:45Speaker 3: you're selling low on Kyle Dugger Now, like what why
- 45:48Speaker 3: to what point should.
- 45:49Speaker 5: Buy low on Kyle Dugger now because this is the
- 45:51Speaker 5: chance to get him. What did Kevin Bayer get It
- 45:54Speaker 5: was like a fifth and sixth yeah, yeah, right, And
- 45:58Speaker 5: and there was a player of a backup safety. I'm sorry,
- 46:01Speaker 5: I know he went to I didn't mean to be
- 46:05Speaker 5: disrespectful anyway, not credit, But Kevin Byron is an outstanding
- 46:10Speaker 5: player and that's what you got. Like so that that,
- 46:13Speaker 5: I think that a lot of people. And again I'm
- 46:16Speaker 5: not blaming anybody, because all it takes is one team
- 46:18Speaker 5: to give you too much. But I just think most
- 46:20Speaker 5: of the guys that we're talking about. His possibilities to
- 46:23Speaker 5: be traded are going to get you a Day three pick,
- 46:25Speaker 5: and in some cases moving up in the in Day three,
- 46:28Speaker 5: like moving from the sixth to the fifth round, right
- 46:31Speaker 5: or the seventh to the sixth round. I don't think
- 46:33Speaker 5: there's a lot of value.
- 46:34Speaker 9: What would you give up for Diggs?
- 46:35Speaker 16: Fred I worry.
- 46:38Speaker 5: About say that, I worry about him.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Good player, I mean he wants to go.
- 46:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's I'm telling you, it's amazing Buffalo anti
- 46:48Speaker 5: talent bias in this town because the Patriots one with
- 46:51Speaker 5: guys like Edelman and Welker and you know, Troy Brown. Like,
- 46:55Speaker 5: it's amazing said you.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Want because I like Debo's attitude better and I think
- 47:02Speaker 1: I think Debo to me, he's just a good football player,
- 47:05Speaker 1: you know, like Diggs is a great receiver.
- 47:08Speaker 5: I love Debo, but he's bitching all the time.
- 47:11Speaker 3: No, he He's also not better than Stefan that as.
- 47:16Speaker 1: A receiver, but I think he's a better football.
- 47:18Speaker 5: You can run the line more.
- 47:20Speaker 11: That's great.
- 47:21Speaker 5: That's why Fred loves that. Fred loves Bill because that's
- 47:23Speaker 5: what Bill is all about. Like, oh, can he play
- 47:25Speaker 5: on fourth down? Like I just he's physical, man. We
- 47:28Speaker 5: can line him up and run running. Why don't I
- 47:31Speaker 5: just let my running back do that?
- 47:32Speaker 1: I just love me some Deebo Samuel.
- 47:35Speaker 10: He's a good player, but he's a great player. I
- 47:37Speaker 10: love watching him play, but he's not as good as Digs.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I don't know Tim's and Stowe. Hey Tim, Hey, Hey, Hey.
- 47:48Speaker 17: I called hcause I actually had a story that you
- 47:51Speaker 17: guys might be interesting. I was in San Diego in
- 47:55Speaker 17: January and I was golfing with a guy and he
- 48:02Speaker 17: was an NFL scout. Yeah, and there we were talking
- 48:07Speaker 17: about quarterbacks and I told him, you know, I'm from Massachusetts,
- 48:10Speaker 17: I'm a big Patriots fan. What do you think about
- 48:13Speaker 17: Mac Jones? And he basically said, you know, four of
- 48:17Speaker 17: the five quarterbacks in that draft were overdrafted, and it
- 48:22Speaker 17: turns out that he was right, and he said, you know,
- 48:24Speaker 17: every year you overdraft quarterbacks, you see teams overdraft quarterbacks,
- 48:30Speaker 17: and he said, if you're lucky to hit on one
- 48:32Speaker 17: that can just play in the NFL, you should ride
- 48:35Speaker 17: it out and build around him, because it's much easier
- 48:38Speaker 17: to scout a lineman, much easier scout receivers and really
- 48:43Speaker 17: hit on that sort of blue chip talent. And that
- 48:47Speaker 17: really suck with me because it was just seems accurate
- 48:52Speaker 17: just watching this year play out and watching all these
- 48:55Speaker 17: first round quarterbacks that have been drafted, you know, have
- 49:00Speaker 17: all the talent in the world, but just don't work
- 49:02Speaker 17: out in the NFL. So I think, you know, I'm kind.
- 49:05Speaker 5: Of again tomorrow move on from mac thing.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 17: And the other thing I was thinking is, you know,
- 49:14Speaker 17: what's the likelihood that we can find a way to
- 49:17Speaker 17: resign Trent and and Mike on?
- 49:19Speaker 5: Oh god, if they if they resigned Trent Brown, I'm
- 49:21Speaker 5: out again. Fred. I'm telling you, I'm going Richard Seymour on.
- 49:24Speaker 5: You for real.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Got to get somebody there, though.
- 49:26Speaker 5: Yeah, somebody that that I can rely on to play
- 49:29Speaker 5: every snap of you know, the games.
- 49:31Speaker 3: You don't want the top ten tackle.
- 49:33Speaker 4: All you guys all right, thanks to So it was
- 49:38Speaker 4: Tim's point, like, hold on to Mac what he was
- 49:41Speaker 4: going to ride it out?
- 49:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm confused as because the the scout told him
- 49:46Speaker 5: he was overdrafted, but then but then said, if you
- 49:48Speaker 5: find someone who can just play. But but I'm thinking
- 49:50Speaker 5: that the scout doesn't think they found someone who can
- 49:53Speaker 5: just play. Yeah, based on the based on.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Theore he came back against Balot, that was obviously before that.
- 49:58Speaker 4: But it's it's still generally where I am like, you know,
- 50:01Speaker 4: it's I mean, of course it's a game changer if
- 50:03Speaker 4: you're in the top couple picks. But I still think
- 50:05Speaker 4: I can see a scenario where Mac is back next
- 50:07Speaker 4: year and they make some more wife around.
- 50:09Speaker 5: More often more likely than not, Mac is back next
- 50:12Speaker 5: year because I just don't think that they're going to
- 50:14Speaker 5: go hog wild into the draft again. And listen, most
- 50:22Speaker 5: of the good quarterbacks in the NFL, we're taking it
- 50:24Speaker 5: with top ten picks. I know everybody thinks that they're
- 50:26Speaker 5: all busts, but if you want to get a really
- 50:29Speaker 5: good quarterback, that's where you have to get it. There's
- 50:31Speaker 5: a couple of Dak Prescott's and Russell Wilson's around, but
- 50:35Speaker 5: there aren't many. Most of the really good quarterbacks in
- 50:38Speaker 5: the NFL were top ten picks, so you can just
- 50:43Speaker 5: not take one.
- 50:45Speaker 1: But I guess That's where.
- 50:47Speaker 4: I'm at though, is like you know you, I mean,
- 50:49Speaker 4: do you just pinch your nose and hope that because
- 50:52Speaker 4: you're in the top ten and you might not you're
- 50:55Speaker 4: not love the guy, like you know, you love the
- 50:57Speaker 4: top two guys, but in your stock, I.
- 50:58Speaker 5: Hope, but I hope I can get one, That's all,
- 51:01Speaker 5: Like I don't want to. I think that the scout
- 51:04Speaker 5: was probably right about the over draft, Like I think
- 51:08Speaker 5: it started right at the top with Zach Wilson, I
- 51:10Speaker 5: mean number two. With Zach Wilson, he.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Was definitely over you know. But to say Trevor Lawrence
- 51:14Speaker 3: and Justin Fields were overdrafted, I think is well.
- 51:17Speaker 5: I think that Trevor Lawrence is the one he was saying.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Wasn't right for but he but so then he included
- 51:22Speaker 3: Justin Fields.
- 51:23Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I think he believe that. I think Justin
- 51:27Speaker 5: Fields can play. I think, you know, like I think
- 51:32Speaker 5: there's some talent like the two guys that are playing
- 51:34Speaker 5: right now in in Stroud, in in Bryce Young Stroud
- 51:38Speaker 5: especially obviously, but I think I think Bryce Young has
- 51:41Speaker 5: shown flashes of really good ability and he's on a
- 51:46Speaker 5: bad team and it's tough, and I get why that,
- 51:48Speaker 5: you know, he can't you know the word again, sustain
- 51:51Speaker 5: it for sixty minutes, but he's shown flashes of being
- 51:54Speaker 5: able to play.
- 51:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think that I'm I am back in
- 51:59Speaker 3: on this season and being competitive, but the jury is
- 52:03Speaker 3: still out on the long term future of the team.
- 52:05Speaker 3: And that's head coach included, Like I'm still not I'm
- 52:08Speaker 3: not just sitting here saying that, like now all of
- 52:11Speaker 3: a sudden, like we build around Mac and Bill is
- 52:14Speaker 3: back and like, let's just no, I mean, they still
- 52:16Speaker 3: have a lot of issues and Max still needs to
- 52:19Speaker 3: do it again and again and again before I'm like
- 52:22Speaker 3: all right, you know, he's the quarterback of the future
- 52:24Speaker 3: in the franchise QB. So it's one game where I
- 52:27Speaker 3: can say, all right, that was probably close to their best,
- 52:31Speaker 3: but I think that they're actually were mistakes made along
- 52:34Speaker 3: the way that they could be even better than that
- 52:36Speaker 3: in certain areas, but in general, like that doesn't change
- 52:39Speaker 3: the long term outlook of the team to me, at
- 52:42Speaker 3: least all right.
- 52:43Speaker 1: We got a lot of calls, a lot of emails
- 52:45Speaker 1: to get to, but Paul needs time to eat, so
- 52:48Speaker 1: we'll be right back after that.

- 53:52Speaker 12: fall from the twenty five.
- 53:54Speaker 16: That's a big one right there. I said, it's gonna
- 53:56Speaker 16: be the Safeties today.
- 53:58Speaker 19: With thirst rotations versus Josh Allen. They gotta stay fresh,
- 54:02Speaker 19: play them all. Hell of a read by Peppers paided
- 54:04Speaker 19: him into the pick.
- 54:05Speaker 13: Seventh interception for Allen this season, the fifth career in
- 54:09Speaker 13: theft for Jabril Peppers. He drops any lay fas he
- 54:13Speaker 13: stands in, he throws.
- 54:14Speaker 16: Down, I'm darving call.
- 54:16Speaker 13: Honey, I got the left.
- 54:17Speaker 11: Looks at the call in the numbers.
- 54:18Speaker 13: He makes the grab of the ten with.
- 54:20Speaker 11: The fluck on the play, he got it.
- 54:23Speaker 19: Ma's complaining here, so I guess some extracurricular activity after
- 54:27Speaker 19: the whistle with Max back in the pocket, but he
- 54:30Speaker 19: hates been there and hits s Douglas on the little
- 54:32Speaker 19: of the little drag route.
- 54:33Speaker 16: They tugged his shoulder. Good calls from the back judge, so.
- 54:36Speaker 11: They got the penalty.
- 54:37Speaker 16: I'm gonna decline it.
- 54:38Speaker 13: Take the game Mac with again, Elliott corns up the
- 54:41Speaker 13: middle ten.
- 54:42Speaker 12: He cour screens is way into the episode, touchdown Patrins.
- 54:48Speaker 19: We got a ten point laid and fox pro lot
- 54:52Speaker 19: of time that's happened, gets your defensive arrival. The Buffalo Bills,
- 54:57Speaker 19: who are now the hunted, they have been the hunter.
- 55:01Speaker 11: Then it's Murray in the slot live with Kim Camp.
- 55:03Speaker 13: We're gonna get tight end in the right slot. Julieceivers
- 55:06Speaker 13: tight end. Davis and Dick s got do staph m
- 55:09Speaker 13: Allen three man watch. He stands and he's pressure.
- 55:11Speaker 11: He steps that.
- 55:12Speaker 13: He throws it to the nzun wide offen.
- 55:14Speaker 11: Nobody got the tight end.
- 55:15Speaker 13: Dawson Knox touchdown, Buffalow.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Thank you, come up.
- 55:21Speaker 16: Full deployment right there, total spread.
- 55:22Speaker 1: We've got a pumpy though.
- 55:24Speaker 16: Where is a flag? Offensive and appearance.
- 55:29Speaker 13: It's a good picking driving Douglas Jack Pedley does the
- 55:31Speaker 13: thirty just inside the number. He starts left him and
- 55:33Speaker 13: he slips on Jetty. Why he's trying to circle the
- 55:36Speaker 13: outside chat.
- 55:36Speaker 12: Buddy Johnson to the THTI forty five ten teams tired
- 55:39Speaker 12: and the buffluck arn.
- 55:41Speaker 13: Dorety because Tyler Johnson eventually talked to Maurial tuglas Ut
- 55:45Speaker 13: before the rookie returns it to the Buffalo forty five.
- 55:48Speaker 19: This kid is making some place. Babe Pourian offense makes
- 55:51Speaker 19: one year. The kicking game almost up kicks the covered here.
- 55:54Speaker 19: It's a hell of a fun makes two guys. Mess
- 55:56Speaker 19: gets to the right boundary and we're in plus.
- 55:58Speaker 8: On in.
- 56:00Speaker 11: Motion into the back of all. It takes the step.
- 56:03Speaker 11: He fakes a whack. Keep up the middle hat in
- 56:06Speaker 11: golf Christian Barmore with Sam Roberts and the.
- 56:10Speaker 13: Wives, eventually assisting, that's big.
- 56:14Speaker 1: That a huge.
- 56:17Speaker 16: Good coach by Marmore. Finally in the middle here.
- 56:21Speaker 11: The motion into the back can all it takes the step,
- 56:24Speaker 11: He fakes a black keeps up the middle hat in
- 56:27Speaker 11: Golf Christian Barmore.
- 56:30Speaker 13: With Sam Roberts and the wives, eventually assisting, that's big.
- 56:35Speaker 5: That is huge, good coach by Barmore.
- 56:40Speaker 16: Finally in the middle, hire me down.
- 56:42Speaker 13: Mart Way's on the staf He has his way to
- 56:44Speaker 13: the right leg kick lit into the upright can.
- 56:48Speaker 3: No good?
- 56:50Speaker 19: All right, you got three timeouts one fifty one. You
- 56:55Speaker 19: get the ball where the kickless myths come. Don't forget
- 56:58Speaker 19: about that.
- 57:00Speaker 11: My vision for the back up for allan a days
- 57:02Speaker 11: to step drops back, He pumps.
- 57:04Speaker 13: He looks nucky, throws it for open.
- 57:06Speaker 11: Cocage and he missed it. Too cold to throw for
- 57:08Speaker 11: the night d sailing one to the Patriots back.
- 57:11Speaker 13: You hear what, there's a late flve cleek plate for
- 57:13Speaker 13: the referee drops it at the turf.
- 57:17Speaker 16: Hell is this call?
- 57:22Speaker 13: Jack?
- 57:23Speaker 16: Jack Jones, helmets and helmet.
- 57:27Speaker 13: Launch Alan and Bellows character he said four thirteen.
- 57:35Speaker 16: N Look at Bellows. Mister ball's gone and he takes
- 57:39Speaker 16: two steps.
- 57:39Speaker 10: And bits of me.
- 57:40Speaker 16: He do it, especially to that guy.
- 57:43Speaker 5: He's gonna pump quota backs.
- 57:44Speaker 13: They're gonna call it a and now he works with
- 57:47Speaker 13: knots lined up to the left, three receivers to the
- 57:50Speaker 13: light side, white, third and goal from the height. Alan
- 57:52Speaker 13: throws it to Cook, cleeks out the five makes the
- 57:54Speaker 13: kid got fine. Peppers dies to the pylon, cutch down Buffalo.
- 57:59Speaker 19: So it's hard pread even Cook on his drive and
- 58:01Speaker 19: extended plays a core tackling out on the Platt left flat.
- 58:06Speaker 1: It's a good after by Cup baked a nice touchdown.
- 58:08Speaker 13: That's a big series where James took only his second
- 58:11Speaker 13: touchdown reception in his two.
- 58:12Speaker 11: Years in the NFL.
- 58:15Speaker 1: That stop fight.
- 58:19Speaker 11: Coming down touchdown Patrian.
- 58:23Speaker 19: And mack Joe's giving it to Poyer right now because
- 58:25Speaker 19: he got late head of Jones's girl.
- 58:27Speaker 16: Joe's hung in there, makes the blow.
- 58:29Speaker 19: He's gotta feel good about this one, but going for two.
- 58:32Speaker 19: Gotta huddle up here, Mack. Joe settled it down. It's
- 58:35Speaker 19: a great row come horn in the left cut and
- 58:38Speaker 19: Joe's gets hit from behind by Poyer. They still makes
- 58:40Speaker 19: the delivery. Excellent job by Kendrick blows getting it.
- 58:44Speaker 13: In and now the offense, extending the lead to two.
- 58:47Speaker 16: Score two tight ends to the right.
- 58:49Speaker 13: Jones take the sap. He tries to sneak it off
- 58:51Speaker 13: the left side and he did.
- 58:53Speaker 11: Not get there.
- 58:54Speaker 16: I don't understand it that Joe bat off the.
- 58:56Speaker 13: Left guard goes down practically the line of scrimmage.
- 59:02Speaker 16: I should have given it to Zeke.
- 59:05Speaker 11: Alan taking staff of Foot's coming good hand fire.
- 59:08Speaker 12: Shoday make a sliding gap with the sex pops doing
- 59:11Speaker 12: oh my god, print scurries into.
- 59:13Speaker 11: The end zone.
- 59:15Speaker 13: Touchdown Buffalo that he went down a slit.
- 59:19Speaker 1: He was not futs.
- 59:21Speaker 16: I want to throw by Allen. He got clolked off
- 59:23Speaker 16: the blitz off the back side. He didn't see it.
- 59:26Speaker 13: It is a scoring play, so we will be reviewed.
- 59:28Speaker 11: Know he got him.
- 59:29Speaker 3: He's in.
- 59:29Speaker 13: That is an incredible for a rally of half cleticism
- 59:33Speaker 13: like Stefan Diggs.
- 59:34Speaker 16: That's the number one right there, boy, who wow?
- 59:37Speaker 13: Want a round the sliding here are you wedding using
- 59:40Speaker 13: his hand to quickly spring to his feet.
- 59:43Speaker 11: All in the spinerama g rid of the end zone.
- 59:48Speaker 13: And now with the stat that Jones dropping back fire
- 59:51Speaker 13: sid in theres I got by Burt Born coming back.
- 59:53Speaker 14: He loves at the ball.
- 59:54Speaker 12: He buckles in at the thirties and the Bills have
- 59:57Speaker 12: it foot following covers head drink horn caught the Pats.
- 1:00:01Speaker 12: He turned to me inside and the bass dripped three
- 1:00:04Speaker 12: and eventually recovered by Bernards Out.
- 1:00:09Speaker 16: George's lawyer, Jordan's lawyer.
- 1:00:12Speaker 13: He said, he's up, believable.
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: Allan dropping the left foot back, he kicks the staff.
- 1:00:15Speaker 13: He leans over the left guard, surging forward, hooking for
- 1:00:19Speaker 13: the call. He got it touched down by below. The
- 1:00:27Speaker 13: Bills are taking the lead with one fifty three to go.
- 1:00:30Speaker 16: Man, they got a look at chew here.
- 1:00:33Speaker 13: Steven get out there and Joni takes the stab longed
- 1:00:35Speaker 13: to throw letters from Bari Stevensons to the.
- 1:00:37Speaker 16: Card, crusting by forty five. Bill.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: He's not going right.
- 1:00:41Speaker 11: Summer forty checked out a bass cover.
- 1:00:44Speaker 13: No yeah, but he the rips a blog.
- 1:00:47Speaker 16: However, they're quoting another of those man tell the build he's.
- 1:00:50Speaker 13: Seven yard line's quarterback mat Joe Wi the same official
- 1:00:54Speaker 13: with the same call.
- 1:00:55Speaker 16: Who is his clown on the left side.
- 1:00:57Speaker 19: It's called two consecutive drove killers an eligible town build
- 1:01:01Speaker 19: off on one second.
- 1:01:02Speaker 11: Throw and again, man, there's no way secretion.
- 1:01:04Speaker 13: All it in the plink of an eye.
- 1:01:06Speaker 16: That's what I'm saying. The balls out. The ball was
- 1:01:08Speaker 16: out on the pire.
- 1:01:09Speaker 11: One and Darian Loan involve me.
- 1:01:12Speaker 13: Three officials conclude, here's the ball the fleet Laman, So
- 1:01:16Speaker 13: they may wave it off.
- 1:01:17Speaker 19: You're better they're gonna wave it all his house of
- 1:01:19Speaker 19: play down here Belichick is losing it. He is losing
- 1:01:25Speaker 19: it on his clown on the left side, the Blake block.
- 1:01:28Speaker 11: For twenty of time.
- 1:01:29Speaker 13: They jop this back to Joe next to Rush is coming.
- 1:01:31Speaker 13: Joan throws down the.
- 1:01:32Speaker 12: Clock guy Henry at the twenty five.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Just before Matt Jones took a shot.
- 1:01:38Speaker 11: He threw to the tight end Henry to make Crab
- 1:01:41Speaker 11: on the fire hatch at the.
- 1:01:42Speaker 13: Twenty five with a hit by Taylor raund Jones handed
- 1:01:45Speaker 13: listened to his wife closing, and I got it. He
- 1:01:47Speaker 13: touched down.
- 1:01:48Speaker 16: I was gonna hatred. There he is, Mike is sicky
- 1:01:54Speaker 16: off the side.
- 1:01:55Speaker 19: Of a pill carton catching the day w winter on
- 1:01:59Speaker 19: a'll look in from Jones to the right slot and
- 1:02:03Speaker 19: it is the drive that Mac Jones has needed. And
- 1:02:07Speaker 19: there it is on the twenty fifth completion of the game,
- 1:02:10Speaker 19: touchdown to MICASICKI up and look it. That's a hell
- 1:02:15Speaker 19: of a job personnel wise, Billy O'Brien changing it up
- 1:02:18Speaker 19: and the ball put in the perfect spot. Mismatch likewise,
- 1:02:21Speaker 19: that's what Micasiki should be doing.
- 1:02:25Speaker 13: Allen takes a snap, nobody runs Josh, Allen's old right,
- 1:02:28Speaker 13: who's burst up?
- 1:02:29Speaker 11: He's cast the liner tripping.
- 1:02:30Speaker 20: Allan's gonna drop content that even and Premden school of
- 1:02:34Speaker 20: slides and comber up and the Patriots can celebrate your
- 1:02:38Speaker 20: first winning all the year and upset a Buffalo by.
- 1:02:42Speaker 13: A twenty nine twenty five finals.
- 1:02:46Speaker 19: You got life, baby now all of a sudden the
- 1:02:48Speaker 19: two and five and look at the excitement by Mac.
- 1:02:51Speaker 16: Jones, And boy does he deserve this one.
- 1:02:54Speaker 13: I've been hearing it.
- 1:02:55Speaker 16: He's MC getnet.
- 1:02:56Speaker 19: The head coach has a day were Buffalo said it
- 1:03:00Speaker 19: probably thought they're gonna have an easy time with you.
- 1:03:02Speaker 16: Patriots fully upset. Maybe that gets you going. Maybe this
- 1:03:08Speaker 16: gets you going?
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: You know what.

- 1:03:34Speaker 1: past five hundred. Is the ACE Ticket Hotline web radio
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: at Patriots dot com. It's the email address. It's deuced Tamara, Evan, Paul, myself,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Matt and the booth were we're coveling over this win.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: I don't know what that means.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: We're having a good time.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: We're having good time.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: We're full of happiness.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: Yeah, now we must do that then some joy.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Yeah. So now we listen to our listeners and what
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: they have to say. We'll continue with that on the
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: ACE Ticket Houtline. Alex is in Charlotte, what's up, Alex,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Alex Oh? Hold over from The Hardy Show. Andrews in Boston,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: what's up? Andrew?
- 1:04:14Speaker 14: Hey? Gang.
- 1:04:14Speaker 15: How's you going? Can you hear me?
- 1:04:15Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:04:17Speaker 14: Okay. So, so I've been living in New York the
- 1:04:20Speaker 14: past two years. I've been Boston for nine before that,
- 1:04:22Speaker 14: and I'm here for the weekend for my brother's birthday.
- 1:04:25Speaker 14: I surprised him with tickets to the game over the
- 1:04:27Speaker 14: weekend and could not have been a better game to
- 1:04:29Speaker 14: come back to, for sure. Honestly, I was more ecstatic
- 1:04:33Speaker 14: after that than you know, the last Super Bowl that
- 1:04:35Speaker 14: that we actually won, which is pretty crazy. I don't yeah,
- 1:04:38Speaker 14: the game and whatnot. The previous game I've been to
- 1:04:41Speaker 14: was for my brother's birthday last year, the Bears game,
- 1:04:45Speaker 14: which was complete polar opposite of what this last one was.
- 1:04:50Speaker 14: And you know, after the Bears game last year, my
- 1:04:53Speaker 14: years were glued to sports radio. It's probably the first
- 1:04:57Speaker 14: time I really listened to sports radio in that and
- 1:05:00Speaker 14: PU has definitely turned into, you know, my my favorite
- 1:05:03Speaker 14: out of all the ones that I've run through. And
- 1:05:06Speaker 14: a sports fan in New York, you know, being a
- 1:05:09Speaker 14: past fan in New York hasn't been easy staying connected
- 1:05:12Speaker 14: with everything, and you guys have been doing an incredible
- 1:05:15Speaker 14: job keeping me grounded, and you know, I've never felt
- 1:05:17Speaker 14: more of a past fan since since moving and being
- 1:05:20Speaker 14: able to come back and hear you guys talking about
- 1:05:22Speaker 14: the game and being at it as well too, and uh,
- 1:05:24Speaker 14: you know, I've never been been prouder as a fan
- 1:05:27Speaker 14: given how the season's gone. And I really appreciate what
- 1:05:29Speaker 14: you guys are doing.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Andrew, appreciate it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: I don't know, we don't get a lot of better stretch.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: You know, you had mentioned that the players, although in fairness,
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: most of those players weren't part of that last Yeah.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: I don't know if Matthew Slater necessarily felt the same way, but.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Todd's in North Carolina. I hate Todd.
- 1:05:51Speaker 21: Hey, guys, I really like the Evans follow up of
- 1:05:55Speaker 21: the evaluation of the team and how he thought this
- 1:05:58Speaker 21: is what they thought they were doing or what they
- 1:06:01Speaker 21: were going to get from their offense early, and you know,
- 1:06:03Speaker 21: it just took a while for it to evolve. My
- 1:06:06Speaker 21: question is, what do you think their record would be
- 1:06:10Speaker 21: if their offense was, you know, doing was playing at
- 1:06:13Speaker 21: this level to start out with? And why did it
- 1:06:16Speaker 21: take it longer to evolve to this stage than that
- 1:06:19Speaker 21: they thought? Like, what was the mistake they made evaluating
- 1:06:23Speaker 21: the offense? Saying, hey, you know this Elfant should be
- 1:06:26Speaker 21: about at this level at this time and go through there.
- 1:06:29Speaker 21: Thanks guys, I really appreciate it, and you do find up.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: I don't think that my whole point was that they
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: knew it was always going to take a little bit
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: like I don't think that they thought they were going
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: to come out week one against Philly like Gangbusters. I
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: think they probably played better Week one against Philly than
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: they maybe thought they would, like honestly on offense, so
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: in terms of like what obviously the health and the
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: changes on the offensive line where we're huge in this game,
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: and that that was something that you can really point
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: to that this change like significantly. But in terms of
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: scheme and like evolution of the offense, I think that
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: that's the whole point is that they were It didn't
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: make mistakes early on in the year. It just was
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: all It just took time. It took time for O'Brien
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: to get it up and running.
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: What do you think the record would have been told, Yeah,
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: I wanted you feel that I wanted you a trip
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: to Fantasy Inland to go first. I'll say four and
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: three that's what I was gonna say. I think they
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: would have beaten Philadelphia, and I think they would have
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: beaten Las Vegas. Yeah, four and three, definitely Vegas. Give
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: him the Vegas one. Vegas is going to be. I
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: think the Chicago game in last year, where you're like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: how do we lose that game? I mean, I know
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: they were on the road.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: Maybe not entirely the same because Chicago was epically terrible,
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: but the result of last week's Raiders game, it was like, man,
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: they let one get away.
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: But that's like strict just total speculation, Dan.
- 1:07:44Speaker 8: I also think they made the Saints look way better
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: than what they are too. I think, you know, obviously
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: you can't play though, like what if they didn't turn
- 1:07:51Speaker 8: the ball over so many times, maybe maybe the Saints
- 1:07:53Speaker 8: wouldn't have had so many points.
- 1:07:55Speaker 9: But the Saints were not as good as what the
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: scoreboard looks.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Is it true that in the Saints game that defense
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: went into the game ranked tenth and came out ranked eighth?
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know. The Patriots defense, Yeah.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: That's what somebody from RPR staff told me.
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: It doesn't sound right, But I don't know, like ranked.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Him what ye overall defense? How they do it?
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: Yeah, because I think that's years ago.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Bill still does that, Oh we were for nineth at yards.
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: His disdain for the greatest coaches ever lived is really.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Now just old admirable, just old archaic, old archaic stats.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Defensive stats never made sense the way they ranked defenses.
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: You know, it was no but like, I don't care
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: what they were Like this is where I was sort
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: of going Evan's side, Like, I don't care what they
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: were ranked. They didn't play well defensively against the Saints.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: They didn't. I know, they didn't give up most of
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: the points. I know the offense was responsible for a
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: big chunk of those points. When they played defense that day.
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: They didn't play very well and they didn't give up
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: a lot of yards that day, So they maybe moved
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: up because the other team didn't have that many yards
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: to go to get touchdowns. But they got touchdowns, you
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: know what I mean, Like they scored thirty four points.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: I don't know, like I think you could make stats
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: say kind of whatever.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: You take care of.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Trod and Vermont, fine, I'll do it. GM Bill credit
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: for a personal decision. Bringing J. C. Jackson back was
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: a good move, and he's been much better than I
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: thought with the injuries. To jud And and Gonzalez. The
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: fact that they can still kind of cover and rush
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: the passer is really encouraging. Also, Barmore and Peppers are
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: difference makers. Peppers is stepping up as a leader. Really
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: hope they keep it going.
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I think. I mean, that's funny.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Evan.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: I keep sick in my head with Evan's like, I
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: don't know, he just still looks like jac Jackson, Like
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: he still just kind of looks like jac Jackson.
- 1:09:45Speaker 7: Takes a couple of plays, he gives up a couple
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: of plays.
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: You know.
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: I really agree with the Peppers part. I do think
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: he has stepped up as a leader too. I think
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: that's part of the thing. And Barmore we talked about
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: at the top of the show, like I love Barmore,
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: but that's the I haven't seen.
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: That guy, and that's why waiting for right this is
- 1:10:00Speaker 7: what we thought we were getting.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: And he was dominant.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he was really good against the Raiders too. And
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: I talked to him last week and I was like,
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: you know, I film against the Raiders pretty darn good
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: and he was like, no, not not good enough. And
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: I was like, oh, like okay, kind of dominated and
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: he was like, uh no, not good enough in the
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: pass rush. You know, didn't didn't think he was impactful
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: enough in the past run. I agree, and then this
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: week he comes out and he's just this game. Yeah,
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: all right, I guess he was right. I guess there
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: was another level.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: And this is where I always got, like I get
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: arguments of Fred because when he plays a game like this,
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: this is what people told me he did last week,
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: and this is what I'm telling no, no, no, no,
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: this was dominance. I thought he was like one of
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: a small handful of the best players in the field.
- 1:10:47Speaker 13: Had to have it.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: I thought he was really big.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: They need him to continue to play that way if
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: they're going to have a real chance of winning some
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: more games here and j.
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: C ben been okay. Yeah, some of the stats I've
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: seen out there about j C and how good he's been,
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: watch the film.
- 1:11:01Speaker 22: But they need it, okay, Yeah, it was just they
- 1:11:05Speaker 22: needed okay and to get an okay guy at this
- 1:11:07Speaker 22: point when you look at last year, the injuries struck
- 1:11:09Speaker 22: like who they kind of were dunk stuck with there
- 1:11:11Speaker 22: at the end, Like you know.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: He's been fine, No, he's been okay, and they need
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: it Okay, I totally agree with that, but there were
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: plays on the film that he did not give up
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: that he should have given up over the last three weeks.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Mike writes in did von Miller play? I didn't notice
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: him once sign of when you he's a leader?
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: I don't think now he's still coming working his way
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: back from that.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Sign when you you when he's the leader. Jennings and
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Balmore have both stepped up on d I like what
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: I saw after the game in the locker room number
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: five stepping up and being a leader. A win this
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: week and they have a shot to make the play I'll.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: Tell you, sorry to spoil that narrative. The Anthony Jennings.
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: He's getting a new contract here right like that is
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: just like I feel like the slam dunk of all
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: slam dunks of the Amphony Jens for nothing.
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: No no, no, for like what would he make?
- 1:12:01Speaker 21: Oh?
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: I don't know, but he'll be back. I need to
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: know what he's gonna get before I tell you everything.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I just think he'd be game, Like, I don't know,
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: this is their kind of guy, you know, he looks
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: just like their kind of guy. He's playing tough like
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: he's not nobody really gonnap peel to anybody wants like
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: a primary pass rusher.
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: But I just think it's gonna be one of those
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: middling gun of deals, and.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: I like it.
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: I was actually asking non snarkily for a change, because
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: I have no idea what kind of a contract a
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: player like that would get. My gut instinct with Anthony
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: Jennings would be he can't wait to get out of
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: here because I got to sit around and be inactive
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: while you know, yeah, I don't want to be disrespectful,
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: but Evan consistently mentions a person who's always active and
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: always has a role in the game, who I've never
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: really seen do anything. Oh and and he's inactive like
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: the first couple of weeks. I would think a guy
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: like Jennings, if he can get something on the open market,
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: would go. Now. If he can't, you might as well
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: stay well, you're comfortable and you already know this is
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: the guy. He's a guy Mak Wilson. You make fun
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: of him all the time.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: Oh god, I have a rant about that second. Yeah,
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Anthony Jennings agree with every once in a while. And
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: so Anthony Jennings, I say this like one hundred percent sincerity.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Where would they be on the edge without Anthony Jennings
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: right now? Really well, like Judan Keon White all missing
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: from this game, and he played extremely well. Like I'm
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: not saying he's like an All Pro player now, but
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: like he played really well for what your expectations are
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: for Anthony Jennings multiple weeks now. He is set the
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: edge of the defense and he's pushed the post. So
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: if you're done his.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: Job, couldn't you see him like saying like, yeah, now
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: that you had no other options, you'll let me play
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: and I can play Like screw, I'm going somewhere else.
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: I mean I could see that, and I mean I
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: kind of relate it. Not totally the same, but Rabel
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: talking about, you know, I was stuck behind two guys.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: I wanted to get a chance to start.
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: I wanted to see they were stuck behind guys that
- 1:13:56Speaker 7: were good right right, well, like he.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: Was stuck behind like I even forget I'm gonna mess
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: it up now with the timeline. But I mean Greg Lloyd,
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: maybe I don't like there was some great outside linebacker
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: or yet. I think Joey Porter came later. Maybe Kendroll
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: I don't know, but.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: But I'm just saying, like, you're getting the chance now,
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: he's finally getting a chance to play. I mean, they
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: have nothing else, like Evan said, but he's getting an
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: opportunities playing well.
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: I think he's played really well and I've had him
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: one of he's been one of my early additions to
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: the good list in the last two weeks.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he's made some plays. I agree, he flashes right away.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: He flashes early, which I think this team needed some
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: of that energy coming out of the gate.
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: And he even did it. What was that? What was
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: the game?
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Was it the Raiders game that he had the TfL
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: like right off the off the bat, like you know,
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: he's done it a few times, like where he's made
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: a play early Josh Jacobs like a five year loss.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Yeah, doing that stuff in preseason two, you know, just
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: getting around tackles, showing a little bit more shimmy than
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: he had.
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: I mean, he's a big, long, powerful guy. He's just
- 1:14:53Speaker 7: a good fit for their defense.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: I mean, I just you know, to the point that
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: we always make about injuries happen, use it as an
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: oportunity to place some young guys.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: He's not a young guy.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: At this point, but I still think he's getting an opportunity,
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: and it's like, all right, well, you don't have really
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: any depth of at edge right now.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: If he has no options, I think you're right. I
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: think he'll end up staying here on a very affordable
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: contract just because like why would you leave? And I
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: just wonder, disrupt if you don't.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: So ke On White's coming back, right, and you figure
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: that he would cut into any future playing time a
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: little bit for Jennings. But to Mike's point, like, isn't
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: paying Anthony Jennings like a team friendly deal more Patriots
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: than overpaying josh U j Right, So like like I
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: could see his opportunities increasing here next year because is
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: not going to be here anymore. Maybe Keon Whites looked
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: at as a guy that's probably more of like a
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: defensive end instead of a true edge guy in the future.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: And now all of a sudden, you know they're playing together.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: In Berlin, says Breedings from Deutsch, Lynn and sempify. Matt
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: just curious, what was your mos I was three to
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: one one in eighty five forty one. You'll have to
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: explain to Fred what that means.
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: All of us I don't know what an eighty five
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: to forty one is, but I was also no. Three eleven.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Okay, three eleven.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, explain to me like I'm five basic riflemen. Okay,
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: that sounds terrifying.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Nice, it's terrifying. Nice. Team win yesterday. Maybe I'm showing
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: my age. But what's the deal with the gritty? And
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: how does one know a good gritty when you see one?
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: I have no idea what Kasiki means when he says
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: his version after the game when he touched down was
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: the worst ever. Yeah, I'm sure it's fun. But both
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: his and match looked the same.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: Yeah they were both. Those are the white guy gritty.
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: Go watch Justin Jefferson do the Yeah, well, pretty much
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: any other point on the NFL where my son Campbell
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: he can do it too.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah. As far as the game and the rest
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: of our season goes, we might not pile up more wins,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: but a consistent old line will go a long way
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: to playing respectable football and build towards next season. Maybe
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: we don't need to move on from Mac As we
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: see he can make plays with pedestrian receivers as long
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: as he has time to read the offense. Focus on
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: building a solid to elite offensive line through the draft
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: as well as a number one wide receiver would certainly
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: make the rebuild or whatever. This is a bit easier.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: If we did not have to start over at the
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: quarterback position. We could still finish the season with good
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: draft position. We could be in the running for MH junior.
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: So you're gonna be picking in the top three, yeah,
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: Or but that email was all over the place, Like
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: Max showed he can make plays, so stick with him
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: and build around him. But they're gonna be like to
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: get Marvin Harrison junior. Like, I don't know how those
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: two things equate.
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: How can Mac have a good rest of the year
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: and they still finish third worst team in the league.
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: Yeah, And you know, I don't know. I think if
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: they play like they did Sunday, they're gonna find a
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: way to win too many games to get Marvin Harrison junior. Ops.
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: I mean they might have already won the twenty games
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: to get him though, right there.
- 1:18:01Speaker 13: I like that that.
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: It was like there's like twelve teams right now. It
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: was an amazing day, Like everybody everybody won except for Arizona. Yeah,
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: it's a it's a log jam. Like the Giants won
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: Denver one, Denver one. Denver never wins.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: I think that people we get like a lot of
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: the Marvin Harrison junior stuff, like do people realize that
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: he's going to go number two in the draft? Like
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: I know, that's why I just said, right, you know,
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: like I doesn't watch that game, by the way, which
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: one the Michigan game? Now, I mean the Ohio State
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Penn State game.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: Now, it was one. There was one guy worth watching
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: on the field the whole game.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: It was him.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he's incredible.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: He won the game by himself.
- 1:18:35Speaker 14: He is.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: The only way he doesn't go number two overall is
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: if two quarterbacks go off, if Caleb Williams and Drake
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Mayboles go one two, but then he's going three.
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: So if you have to be wire, probably a trade.
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: But yeah, and and and when I say there was
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: no other players, I know that a lot of people
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: watch college football. The Penn State's got a good defense,
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: they have some good players, a lot of good NFL.
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: They have some good players on both sides of the ball.
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: But Marvin Harrison was just a cut above everybody on
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: the field the other day.
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: So I'm gonna tea you, Evan, so Ucha didn't play,
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: and so they basically just move mac Wilson kind of
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: outside of his comfort zone, which is usually I'm not
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: gonna be snarky, usually playing off the ball, so playing
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: kind of off the edge as a pass rusher and
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: Evan what did the film say?
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: I want to know what their obsession is with mack Wilson,
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: Like people like ask me all the time, like what's
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: their obsession with Miles Bryant. I get it with Miles Bryant, Like,
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: I know he's not the greatest player of all time,
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: but I can see why they like him in a
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: specific role in their defense. Mac Wilson, to me, makes
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: zero impactful plays anytime they put him out there. I
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: just don't understand what the obsession was with this player.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: And then you look at I think a perfect example
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: is the twenty eight yard pass to James Cook, which
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: was the one extended play that Josh Allen made in
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: the entire game. And mac Wilson is spying Josh Allen
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: and he's in a freaking blender. He has no idea
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: where he's going, and it's like, why can't Marty mop
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: who do this? Like if he's gonna get lost anyways,
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: Like then why not let the rookie get lost and
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: see what the rookie has? Like why this is when
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: people talk about like they want to play the young
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: guys and they don't want Bill to play. There's not
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: a whole lot of examples of that because there's just
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: not a ton of young guys healthy on the roster right.
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: Now next week.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: But one example of it, through and through is why
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: Mac Wilson was in the game plan and Marty mop
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: who wasn't. It makes zero sense. And maybe that twenty
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: eight yarder to James Cook doesn't happen. If the spy
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: actually can close on the quarterback and disrupt the quarterback
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: from making that throw, it's unbelievable.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: Fifteen snaps for Wilson, ten for yeah, well maybe that'll
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: be the next thing that he takes our advice on
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: tackle and pop as a focal point.
- 1:20:47Speaker 7: I know you made the whole joke about like you
- 1:20:49Speaker 7: know that I just called am Sorry, sorry I ask
- 1:20:53Speaker 7: my question.
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: Not Anti, but you know his family named Mario.
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: We make these things of like you know, oh, they shouldn'
- 1:20:59Speaker 7: listen to us, like we're just the guys in the radio.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: But like Paul, you've.
- 1:21:02Speaker 7: Watched for you guys have watched football for like thirty years.
- 1:21:05Speaker 7: Like I think that that carries at least a little
- 1:21:07Speaker 7: bit of weight.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: Like I mean, you know, I've watched football and studied
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: it closely for I don't know, since like two thousand
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: and six, where it is sixteen seventeen years. I mean,
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: like we do watch this stuff. Like I don't think
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: like you could just take our opinions and just chuck them,
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Like, like I know we're
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: not at that level of coaches and knowing their schemes
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: and everything that goes on, but it's like we.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: Care, we watch, and like it's just it's frustrating because
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: I want him.
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: I'm like, oh, really, Michael, when us better at right
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: tackle than Venerian Low?
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: Like I mean maybe they have alternatively, you know, other
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: reasons why they're playing guys like that and you know,
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: trying to make something happen, But I don't know.
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: I just think that I want to bring that watch
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: it a lot. Do you guys all his press come? Yeah?
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: All three of you? Okay, did you guys hear him?
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: But who response a little bit? What did you guys
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: think of the tackle uh reaction. So maybe that's part
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: of the reason why we haven't seen it until now.
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: You don't want to do it, yeah, I was.
- 1:22:02Speaker 9: Getting the vibe of like, I don't really, I don't
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: want to do it.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: I didn't see it.
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: It just seemed kind of lukewarm. I don't think he's
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: an ovally talkative guy to begin with. It's pretty pretty quiet,
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: laid back. But I got the impression that Tamara did.
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: I thought that reading between the lines, that maybe this
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: is something that they've talked about and he kind of
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: is blocked at now. The other part of it has been.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Health, the fact that Bill Bill never says about a player, Yeah, we're.
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: Going to talk about well, he said we're going to
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: talk like they asked they're going to keep him there,
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: and he said, we're going to talk about it. And
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: I actually kind of downplayed that in the post game show.
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: But after listening to a win who, I wonder if
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: maybe he's to make maybe it is something that they
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: have to sort of needs. Would he'd be able to
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: make more money if you pay well, that's what I
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: was just going to say. Contract here, you can play
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: tackle now like you you got. I wonder if he
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: feels like he's not fully healthy and he's going to
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: get exposed out there, Like I said, heaven stat Okay,
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: your your boys would tell me that he again led
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: the league in fewest amount of time to throw and
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: they were second shortest average airtime for passes hair yards. Yes, heard, Sorry,
- 1:23:16Speaker 5: I'm just helping you. I don't mean yeah, okay, But
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: as you know, I like to use these things when
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: they suit my arguments. So remember that maybe the past
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: protection was better than it was with Vederian Low, but
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: maybe it wasn't like this be all end all solution either.
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: And I do think that a big part of the
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: success offensively is you found a way to have success
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: right away. So you got up ten nothing instead of
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: down ten nothing. And Fred said, maybe they'll be better
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: equipped in the future if they fall behind. I don't
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: see That's like, I don't see them being better equipped
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: to do it. You know, that's what we got to see.
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: And if they go down to Miami and fall behind,
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: you're gonna get right now, right in your face.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: Immediately, you know, Yeah, I mean to your point, Paul,
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: I watched that Miami game back last night from Week
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: two and every single time they tried to drop back
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: past he got sacked. It was like every time they
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: tried to dial something up down the field, he got sacked.
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: But he couldn't.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: He completed like seventy percent of his throat is just
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: throwing you know, five yard passes. But every time they
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: tried to load up and throw something down the field,
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: or it was you know, third and ten and they
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: had to throw it down the field, you know, he
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: got sacked. I understand Big MIC's you know, reservations about
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: playing tackle because he's not a tackle, Like he's not
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: built like a tackle. His footwork isn't like a tackle.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: You know, he plays so much better at tackle than
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: Vederian Low that it just makes it look like to everybody,
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: like why wouldn't you just keep him there forever? Right,
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: because he's just so much better than what you have.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: But he does have a shorter corner because of his
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: foot speed and his footwork than most tackles do. That's
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: not just pick on him and say that he's bad
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: at it, but he's just he's a natural guard, like
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: he's that's how he's built.
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: That's how he you know, he knows himself right and
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: he must look at it as I'm going to get
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: into free agency without my best tape out there, you know,
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: And yeah it might be one. You know, on paper,
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: it might be lucrative to say, well, this guy can
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: play tackle and guard, but if someone wants to sign
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: him as a guard, maybe he's not getting what he
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: should because he didn't play enough of it, you know,
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: hit the year heading in and it's yeah, I don't know.
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: It might just be as simple as what Emon said. Comfort. Yeah,
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: like he doesn't feel his comfort.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: I just I wonder if if McDermott could still be
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: in the mix on the right side, and maybe if
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: SO is going to push cold Strange into the mix,
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: you know, like is that because that's something they could
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: do too.
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: That could be if you get on when you back
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: at right guard. I think I would feel better about
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: that because I don't think So is all that good.
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: Oh let's put it this way. He's not ready yet.
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: Let me let me put it that way. I'm not
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: telling you he's not any good. I think there's some
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: there was some pressure I thought in those gaps on
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: both sides. I thought what strange got walked back into
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: the quarterback A couple of times, and I thought, so
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: did too. Now I don't. I don't watch it like
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: Evan does, so like, well, maybe the film doesn't know.
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: Maybe the film there's some intriguing traits was so. I
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: think the one thing that I would say, though, is
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: that he's getting a whole lot of help from David Andrews.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: Like David Andrews is opening to with his eyes to
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: the right side like nine times out of ten when
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: they drop back to pass. So they've done a really
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: good job in the last two weeks of making sure
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: that city So is not on the island with any
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: sort of elite pass rushers like he had like Tim
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: Settle a couple of times one on one, but that's
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: not we're not talking about. Yeah, like if we're not
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: talking about you know, the the Eagles in week one
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: putting what's his name Simmons over not Simmons, the rookie
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: that I think Carter Carter, thank you over you know,
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: Antonio Maffi and just like making him block them one
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: on one or you know, like they've done a nice
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: job of protecting him the last couple of weeks. And
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: they also have played some interior d lines that aren't
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: very good. So I would just it's been better than
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: Mafi was, just because he's handled moving parts a little
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: bit better, like the stunts and the blitzes and stuff
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: like that up front have been a little bit cleaner
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: with so. But I wouldn't say that it's been he's
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: he's been fine.
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: I just have to pray that one of those guys
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: works out like one of them like Mafi.
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: I think they'll be I think they'll be fine. Well,
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: I think they'll be offensive lineman. Yeah, like if you
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: let a win, you go like, I think one of
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: those guys will start like and maybe he won't be
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: as good like I think Mike is pretty good. But
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: I just think that you can work around that.
- 1:27:41Speaker 11: Now.
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: I think Venderian low level and what Calvin Anderson did
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: against the Miami in the Miami game the first time,
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: you can't work around that. Yeah, you gotta at least
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: get in the way.
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: And that's what Mike is, you know, That's what Big
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: Mike did was that he's like at least at that, like, Okay,
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: we can get by with this level at tackle. I
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: think that he could get better at it in terms
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: of the footwork, but I just he's not you know,
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: he's built the way he's built, and he's not like
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: a long, you know, strider, and that's what tackles need.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: They need to really get a lot of depth out
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: of their stances and make guys run the arc will
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: wrights in.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: I started the season staying positive, then things soured. Evan
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: told me to embrace the tank and I jumped on board.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Now they win and I don't know what to do
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: when they suck, I'm upset when they win. I'm upset.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: In all honesty, A part of me was happy when
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: Kendrick fumble because I thought I'd get the best of
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: both worlds, a competitive, heart wrenching loss. I find myself
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: asking does Bill still have a fastball? Is mac elite?
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Are we trade blocked cellars? Is this a replay of
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: two thousand and one? Is constant back and forth? Is
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: tearing me apart? Mike? How am I supposed to feel it?
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: I'm with him.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: I have no idea how to feel and that's why
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: I just said, just enjoy this win and look forward
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: to playing Miami this week.
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: And that's what I did. I had like I can't
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: remember the last time I had that much fun at
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: What does it mean an, my heart was racing the
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: whole time, trying to.
- 1:29:02Speaker 13: Like t.
- 1:29:04Speaker 5: He's talking about his heart racing. I'm like, what's really
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: was the team?
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: We are adjacent to the team, Paul, Well, you know
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: what it was.
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: Thought was that it was nice to care like because
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: sometimes you get so mad at them over the course
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: of a game, which probably speaks to you know, when
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: you're watching your team and they keep making mistakes and
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: they're doing the same thing over and over again, and
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: it's hard to like reconnect with passionately wanting this team
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: to win.
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: And then they start to.
- 1:29:31Speaker 7: Play well and you're doing things good and you're like, man,
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: this the energy in the stadium is great, and like.
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: This is what it's supposed to be like, and you
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: know that. I think that's why I just I wanted it.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: I wanted it for them, like I was.
- 1:29:40Speaker 5: I was actually like, obviously, the best thing is the
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: Patriots could have moved the ball and run out the
- 1:29:47Speaker 5: clock on offense, but the fumble, and I thought it
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: at the time, if they weren't going to get a
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: first down, I'd rather fumble there and give him a
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: short field because I didn't have any faith whatsoever they
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: were going to stop Buffalo, but I had faith that
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: they might be able to go down and get a
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: field goal at the end. So they had they had
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: a lot of time, they had two minutes, you know, ultimately,
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: because the short fields and two time allowed Buffalo to
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: score quickly.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: So I'm not saying that, but I'm saying, like, if
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: they were going to go, let's if he doesn't fumble,
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: it's still third and long.
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: You love those, you love these where it's a weird
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: nuance where a mistake actually helps you in a weird
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: sort of way.
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: And I'm not trying to believe me. I'm not trying
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: to say it helped them. No, no, But the better
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: thing would have been if he just got tackled and
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: then they got the first down on the next play.
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: That would have been the much more conventional way to
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: win the game. And I think we all would have
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: felt better about it. But I think that the way
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: it worked out, it saved a lot of time.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: Being fresdent by the way. I'm driving home after the
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: game and I'm listening to one of the postgame shows
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: I don't know if on one of Paul stations, and
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: sure enough, next on the phone speing Fresno, and I
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: have to say, I.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: Feel a little cheated on you.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I jilted that.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: Every once in a while. Every once in a while
- 1:31:06Speaker 5: I feel like we get cheated on. I hear some
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: of our guys.
- 1:31:08Speaker 13: I like that.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: But he did mention us.
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Oh then I take it back.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Loving the show today, good energy, fun arguments. Evan
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: has obviously proven an awesome addition. One of my favorite
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: things about him is how he'll flip from a talented,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: reasonable rational analyst into a reactive fan drenched to a
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: recency bias. This is true. He was despairing the future
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: at one in five, but now after beating the Bills,
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: Evan is penciling.
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: In games and way different.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: I love it. It gives me hope I didn't know
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: I might have. Don't listen to Paul Evan on to
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: five and five, LFG.
- 1:31:43Speaker 5: Hey listen.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: I like I said before the break, my long term
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: outlook of the team in the franchise and the quarterback
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: and the head coach has not changed one iota. My
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: short term outlook of the neck of this season, and
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: I think that this is where like it's not even
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: just my fandom. It's also just my my job, right
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: that I could not watch them lose every freaking game,
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: all right, it was gonna drive me up a dang wall.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: And I totally agree, and I expect them to lose
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: every game selfishly, selfishly, like I did not want to
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: get on a plane on Saturday to go to Miami
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: to watch the one in six Patriots lose by thirty
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: points to the Dolphins, Like I just didn't want that.
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: So I will tell you that do you want the
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: two and five Patriots points? Just asking for a friend
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: you want I have some hope, but you want the hope.
- 1:32:30Speaker 5: But you want the two and five Patriots to lose
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: by thirty points as well? I said, I don't want them, but.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: That's not the mindset getting on the plane. I totally
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: agree with that. I'm going to be have a little hope.
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: I'm going to be totally sure why not? This is
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: more less like it's less about my my fandom at
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: this point, and it's more about my selfishness of us
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: having to cover the team. And I was I was
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: looking down the road. I'm sorry, Fred, but I was
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: looking at Germany and being like, oh my goodness, I
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: have to go to a different country and halfway across
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: the world. I hate to cover a one in eight
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: football team against Gardner minshew To and.
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: I was like, oh, dear, I hear that. I still
- 1:33:11Speaker 5: gotta watch. Yeah, but maybe they actually you know, I.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Laugh at fans when they say, oh, I'm embarrassed, Like
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: what are you embarrassed for? You know, you weren't the
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: ones out there, you know, so what it's one of
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: my favorites, you know. But in this case, going to Germany,
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: if we were won and whatever, I was going to
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: be a little embarrassed.
- 1:33:28Speaker 14: You know.
- 1:33:29Speaker 9: Yeah, it would be weird to host all those events
- 1:33:31Speaker 9: and parties.
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, because your reping. Yeah, you're trying to You're trying
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: to tell people be our fans, and then I just.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Didn't want to play.
- 1:33:40Speaker 5: Friend's gonna be walking on to see the game on
- 1:33:42Speaker 5: TV against the Bills. You see the game on the.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Bill.
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: We keep track of records differently in American football, but
- 1:33:53Speaker 5: you saw the game.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Every game is its own championship. We won that.
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: But I think part of this comes down to what
- 1:33:59Speaker 5: you were thinking and what you thought heading into the
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: season and all that kind of stuff, the expectation stuff,
- 1:34:04Speaker 5: because I don't know, did you really think they were
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: going to lose like thirty four to nothing every game?
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Like I just looked at that, But I didn't think
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: they were going to lose thirty four nothing in one game.
- 1:34:15Speaker 8: No.
- 1:34:15Speaker 14: No.
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: But my point is, like if you went into the sea,
- 1:34:18Speaker 5: like going into the season, I thought there was a
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: really good chance they were going to be one in five.
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: It just didn't happen the way I thought it was
- 1:34:24Speaker 5: going to happen. I thought they would lose to the Jets,
- 1:34:26Speaker 5: and I thought they would split with Vegas and the Saints.
- 1:34:29Speaker 5: It turned out they beat the Jets and lost both
- 1:34:31Speaker 5: of those games. But like I just I think it
- 1:34:36Speaker 5: comes down to what you thought. Like, I still think
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: they're going to win somewhere around seven.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: But it's different to think that they might be one
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: and five and then see how they played to get
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: to one in five. And I didn't expect that.
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: But I didn't expect them to play as well as
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: they did against Philadelphia.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: No, but I expected them to be competitive, you know,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: but not quite half.
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: For the most part, they have been, you know, well
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: two I mean, they had two really really bad games,
- 1:35:00Speaker 5: But I don't expect them to turn it over three
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: plus times every game either like they've had how many turnovers,
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: like eleven, But I don't expect them to turn it
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: over at that rate.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: But at some point you say, well, that's who they are.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: You know, they're the team that has the big minus
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: in the turnover battle.
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: But this is like why you needed and I kept
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: on trying to tell myself this that you needed to
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: look at the whole like picture, like you know, firing
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: Bill and getting rid of Mac over six games was
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: not like that's not the way to go about it.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: Like you got to look at the whole season and
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: look at the whole body of work. And I was
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: with Paul. I thought that they were going to start rough.
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: I figured the offense would take a lot of time
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: to get put together by O'Brien. They had a tough schedule,
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: so they started one and five. But if this team
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: finishes seven to nine or whatever, seven and ten, whatever
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: the math is now, but they won, you know, a
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: bunch of games late in the season because they started
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: to play better later in the year, then that changes
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: how you approach the twenty twenty four offseason. And that's
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: just that's where I'm at. I did the whole plath
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: to the playoff thing and everything is like kind of
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: I also went like that's where I'm at.
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: And I would also look at you know, they have
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: a couple of more of these games against you know,
- 1:36:08Speaker 5: these opponents that we put in a different category, like Buffalo,
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: you know, like it's Miami, it's the Chiefs, it's Buffalo again.
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: So I'll be watching if this turns out to be
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: a one off and they end up seven eight wins.
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: They played better, but they just beat up on all
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: the bad teams. Like that's why I found That's why
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: I had so much fun Sunday, Like it wasn't just
- 1:36:28Speaker 5: that the way the game ended and the way the
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: game unfolded, it was against a good team they haven't
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: beaten that, you know, with the win.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Should the Patriots buy a billboard down the street from
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Ralph Edwards Stadium or whatever it's called, and you know
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: the way the bills the league?
- 1:36:46Speaker 5: Sure, why not?
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Should we do that?
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: Why not?
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: They do?
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: They got their own problems.
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: Right now, Hailey Steinfeld, Right, I was right about.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: That, Hailey stein I knew it was taking down the dynasty.
- 1:36:58Speaker 9: Did you take a selfie with him in the tunnel.
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: No, I did have a nice, nice moment with our
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: quarterback in the locker.
- 1:37:03Speaker 7: Room after the game, though, Wow, talking lacrosse.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but that was Friday.
- 1:37:09Speaker 8: I will say this is the one game that I
- 1:37:11Speaker 8: like didn't have to keep myself up to watch. Actually
- 1:37:14Speaker 8: I could actually watch the game without feeling like I
- 1:37:15Speaker 8: needed ten coffees.
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: Okay, you got to tell Fred about Mac busting your
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: chops about lacrosse a little bit.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that was Friday. Someone so he has a
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: lacrosse stick in his in his locker. I can say that, right.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: I don't know, we're not supposed to really talk about
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: what's in their lockers, but because he has a lacrosse
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: stick in his locker, and someone else had asked him like, oh, like,
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: did you play lacrosse? And he said yes, And I
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: said I played lacrosse too, And he was like, oh,
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: what what position did you play? I said long stick
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: MIDI and he looks at me. He goes, the poll
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: is taller than you. And I was like that that's accurate.
- 1:37:47Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:37:49Speaker 13: And so that was that one.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: That's Hi. That was the story.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Travis Travis in West Virginia did Sunday's game change your
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: opinion of whether or not Josh Allen's style of playing
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: backyard circle ball is sustainable.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: No, we just we finally caught him on an off day.
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: Maybe tomorrow, Maybe tomorrow, you'll get me with that one.
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: Oh my goodness, just take the wheel. No, not today.
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: I just I think we finally caught him on an
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: off day. And yep, you know it was. It was
- 1:38:19Speaker 5: but Haalstein the Patriots. The Patriots did that. The Patriots
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: got the pressure like, that's like he didn't want to
- 1:38:29Speaker 5: do that. When he threw the ball in less than
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: two point five seconds, he was seventeen for seventeen. Again,
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with the nerd stats again. Look at
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: Paul true digging An. The Patriots did that to him.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: He didn't decide I'm just gonna go run around and
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: try to throw a ball in the back of the
- 1:38:45Speaker 5: end zone ten seconds after the play started. The Patriots
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: made him do that.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Rich in New York big fan of the show, great
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: win over the Bills. With the Belichick contract being leaked,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: most likely being leaked by Belichick, I couldn't help but
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: thinking that BB channeleds inner George Costanza in the episode
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: where George is working at play now and the boss
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: wants him gone and offers to pay six months of
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: the one year contract to get him to leave immediately
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: at George then says, you see, if I stay the
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: whole year, I get it all. Everything always comes back
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: to the Seinfeld.
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: That is correct. I thought you were going to say
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: when he was driving around with the World Series trophy
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: attached to the back of the car trying to get
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: fired from the Yankees.
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: A lot of people saying how bad the Bills played.
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: You know, I think the Patriots forced some of that,
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: as Paul just said, and I do. I don't think
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: they don't have the best game.
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: I'm not going to pretend to be Sunshine dot Com
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: guy like I don't think the Bills played well, but
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: I think the Patriots had something.
- 1:39:42Speaker 13: To do with that.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: But also, for the record, the Bills have not been
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: playing well for like a month now, no, like since
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: that Miami game.
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: And that's why I think most people were saying what
- 1:39:50Speaker 5: they're saying about the Bills. The Bills were rolling and
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: then they came in and played like that. I don't
- 1:39:54Speaker 5: think people would say.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: Well, Buffalo did. They would just say, oh, Buffalo had
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: a bad game. Buffalo is not played well.
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: Donnie in Pittsburgh.
- 1:40:02Speaker 5: I came.
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: I come bearing a white flag as a representative of
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: the Mac Jones haters. I couldn't be happier as a
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: fan for the growth he showed and the growth of
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: our offense is taken over two weeks in terms of
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: O line play, running back play, in wide receiver play.
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: They deserve us to pat them on the back this
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: week while we are cautiously optimistic in the face of
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: a Miami away game, this could be something. They need
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: to beat Miami for me to fully say this is something.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: But Mac in this offense have won back the belief
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: of at least one heavy hater, a shred of negativity.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: Mac needs to stop the audible into delay of game
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: thing he has done two weeks in a row.
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: I don't I don't believe that email. Yeah, I don't
- 1:40:42Speaker 5: believe you were a heavy Mac hater and then one
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: game change your mind. Well I don't believe that.
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: But he's coming around.
- 1:40:49Speaker 9: I feel like this like made me like raise my eyebrow.
- 1:40:52Speaker 9: I can't really do that on my own.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: I think he's just think he's just saying cease fire
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: for a yeah, oh that's not how I read it.
- 1:40:59Speaker 5: They have the is what I read. I was I
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: was wrong. I'm waving the white flag. That's how we
- 1:41:04Speaker 5: started the email.
- 1:41:05Speaker 9: Yeah, definitely not waving that yet.
- 1:41:07Speaker 7: Not everything has to be so definitive, Like one game
- 1:41:09Speaker 7: tells us everything you know.
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: Now this game tells everything you know. It's it's like,
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: I kind of like the way Evan said it. You know,
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: my long term views of the quarterback and the team
- 1:41:18Speaker 5: really largely unchanged.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: Let's see, Mark says, I love it.
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: I love when giving me credit.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: I love when I just give you credit when you
- 1:41:28Speaker 5: agree with me.
- 1:41:28Speaker 8: I love that Paul always has the receipts, like, oh yeah,
- 1:41:32Speaker 8: it's amazing.
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: Yeah he does research. Nobody keeps if it's at all
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: valuable in any way. Like there's a knowledge or something
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: to be gained by me remembering something, it won't happen
- 1:41:47Speaker 5: only if it's completely an utterly meaningless. You tell me,
- 1:41:49Speaker 5: you asked me what the score was like in week
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: three of ninety six or something like. I got it,
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: but I can't get anything out of it, you know,
- 1:41:57Speaker 5: I don't if it's of any value, I don't retain it.
- 1:42:01Speaker 9: Mike that means your key was valuable because he retained
- 1:42:03Speaker 9: it to look.
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: At market on the sheet.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: I didn't remember it marking Everett Evan critique. Evan, please
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: start your commentary with in my opinion, you're starting to
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: sound like you know more than Bill and his staff,
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: and you don't. Great things take time, and Bill would
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: just we just need contributions from everyone for it to work.
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: Great things take time, which was obviously for you, which
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: was exactly my take that it was going to take time.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: Paul. You know you were an English major, right or no,
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: no journalism, Well, but you had you had to write
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: a lot, right, and people would tell us, don't say
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: in my opinion it's your paper. We know it's your opinion,
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: and if Evan's saying it, we know it's his opinion.
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: Correct, You don't have.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: To say, I'll have a disclaimer at the end of
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: all of our articles. That's say it's my opinion.
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: The other part I would just say, like the only
- 1:42:54Speaker 5: difference would be if you're given an opinion on something
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: that's like, you know, newsworthy, yeah you should probably say like,
- 1:43:03Speaker 5: no one's told me that.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: But like if we get into the whole Bill contract, right,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: we could all have our thoughts on it, and they
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: would be our opinion. And I think for our sake,
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: it's very important for us to say, listen, I don't
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: know anything, but this is what I think, because there
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: are some people that think that, like, you know, we're
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: having lunch with Bill and it's just not the way.
- 1:43:21Speaker 5: It's amazing how many people think. I mean, that's an
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: exaggeration of it, but that when we say something, it's
- 1:43:27Speaker 5: like a voice of the organ.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: You know, we've got a tray in the cafeteria next
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: to you.
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: I overheard your son wish.
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: You know, it's just not the way it is. We
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: know as much and as little as everyone else about
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: most things.
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: When it comes to that, you know, when it comes
- 1:43:46Speaker 5: to the football, I don't know.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: Yeah, when it.
- 1:43:48Speaker 4: Comes to how I just don't have this like burning
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: desire to know secrets or to know things, or you know,
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: like I just like to watch the games and.
- 1:43:54Speaker 5: See what happens.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: Listen. You know, we can get into it maybe later
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: in the week, but like, I think it's important for
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: fans to know what the future of their head coaches,
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: and you know, most teams, you know, like John Gruden
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: gets signed with the Raiders. It's ten years, one hundred
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: million dollars. You know, it's out there.
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: We never know, and we think they knew originally like
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: when we first signed, but since then no. Yeah, but
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: and we'll probably get to that tomorrow. Would you say, like,
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: I think today's a ust termed the page day, but
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: today's a basking the glory of a really fun win
- 1:44:28Speaker 5: yea day.
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's a big story. I think that tiers.
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: I think fans want to know what the future looks
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: like in that.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: It is a it is a big story. It's huge,
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: but it's being made into a monumentally big story for
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: I think no reason.
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: Because people don't know. But that's part of it. It's
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: the uncertainty, like the fact that.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: Paul's shows no Paul, the fact that every single one
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: of those shows first segment is leading off right now
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: is about Bill's contract.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: It's drama.
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: It's wild.
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's wild, like like what we're doing now because
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: this is our first opportunity together as a group to
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: talk about the game. We can fill two hours, but
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: they have to fill twenty hours.
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: And the drama, I also can't talk ball like this.
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: Well that's true, but it's easier to fill twenty hours
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: of speculation than twenty hours of basking the goal because
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: that admittedly that will get that will get tired, you know,
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: So the bill thing works more for what they're doing.
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: I don't blame them for doing it.
- 1:45:30Speaker 13: I do.
- 1:45:30Speaker 8: I feel like it's the uncertainty of how much he's
- 1:45:32Speaker 8: getting paid, but then also the reasoning of like why
- 1:45:34Speaker 8: that came out when it did.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: And then I also like, listen, the report raises more
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: questions than it did answer things. Oh yeah, you know,
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: like this everything is a big question on that report.
- 1:45:47Speaker 8: I'm like, I hope you didn't think that that report
- 1:45:49Speaker 8: was gonna hush anybody up, because that just made people
- 1:45:53Speaker 8: question it even more.
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:45:54Speaker 5: I do wonder what the.
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: The motive was. Yeah, the reason, well, if you knew
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: who leaked it, then it's easier to figure out the motive.
- 1:46:04Speaker 5: But no, but I think that you could, you could
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: make different motives for either side.
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: Sure that's true.
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: I don't know what the motive was.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, but anyway, we'll talk.
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: About it more.
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: We'll get into that.
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: We have some of those clips and stuff we'll play
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: on tomorrow.
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: Jason and Carlsbad New Mexico. I'm torn. I like how
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Mac played on Sunday, and if he could play that
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: way more weeks than not, then I would absolutely love it.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: But he doesn't. So do we want Mac or do
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: we want a top pick for a better quarterback next year?
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: So to all of y'all, what would you prefer? Prefer
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: a top pick or Mac?
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: I'm always anti tanking. I've been in like I was
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: embracing the tank because I had no other choice. But
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: if I had a choice, I would much rather their
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: arrowb pointing upward in the second half of the season,
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: and they build something in the second half of this
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: year and then add to it, and then twenty twenty
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: four they maybe have better you know, tackle play, better
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: wide receiver play, and you know, keep the same defense
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: relatively together, and now they're competing in twenty four. Like,
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: I would much rather go that route than than tank
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: and start all over too.
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: I just I just still go back to, you know,
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: feeling like you got to make sure that you give
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: your first round quarterback all the chances he can get
- 1:47:18Speaker 4: to succeed. And I don't think anybody could say that
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: they've given him every chance to succeed yet and even
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: if you don't believe that he's ever going to be
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: a top five, you know, super Bowl contending quarterback, I
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: just think you could.
- 1:47:28Speaker 5: You can't keep chasing your tail.
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: And so, you know, to that one caller's point, if
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: you feel like, hey, we think Mac can still play,
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: let's let's continue to build around. Let's let's let him
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: carry over his offense. Let's have an offense for the
- 1:47:38Speaker 4: same offense for a second year in a row. You know,
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: I just I think overall that adds just the stability
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: of the organization. I don't think anybody really truly wants
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: to blow up an organization and start over a coach
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: and start over a quarterback and begin that long row.
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: Listen, it's long. It's long and uncertain.
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: If if you come out of this season thinking, okay,
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: Mac has a chance to be the guy, that makes
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: it so much easier, I mean, so you can whatever
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: assets and money you have you can spend elsewhere. You know,
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: otherwise you're back in that hole looking for quarterbacks. So,
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: as Patriots fans, even if you haven't liked what Mac
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: has done so far, you should be hoping that he
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: can turn it around, because that will make life so
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: much easier this offseason.
- 1:48:21Speaker 5: I feel in between them all.
- 1:48:23Speaker 8: I feel like, regardless of whether you keep him or
- 1:48:25Speaker 8: get a new quarterback, you still need to build around
- 1:48:27Speaker 8: them because what he has right now.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: Is That's what I'm saying, You're gonna have to do
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: that anyway. So if you have one thing in place,
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: being the quarterback, go let's start building this, you know.
- 1:48:37Speaker 8: But I also don't think that he's the guy either, Like,
- 1:48:40Speaker 8: even if he does finish out the season like seven
- 1:48:43Speaker 8: to nine or whatever it is, I still don't think
- 1:48:45Speaker 8: long term he's it.
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: I think that's the fair argument, is that somebody could say, look,
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: he's not the guy. You're wasting your time continuing to
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: try to make him the guy. The sooner you can
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: get someone who you truly believe to be the guy,
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: the better.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Well. I think this gets back to the caller, the
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: early caller we had who had played off with the scout,
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: you know, define the guy. Like, if you're looking for,
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: you know, an elite quarterback, you're probably not gonna get him.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: But if you can get a guy who's capable, like
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: you know, we always use Kirk Cousins as the guy,
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: stick with him, you know, stick with that and build
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: around it.
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: I just feel like there's a danger in that. There's
- 1:49:21Speaker 5: a Daniel Jones danger, there's an Andy Dalton danger, there's
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: a Kirk Cousin danger. You can convince yourself you have
- 1:49:28Speaker 5: the guy, and I'm with you on that. If you're wrong,
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: I think it does more damage than if you started.
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: But the question is is.
- 1:49:35Speaker 6: You have a guy?
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: You don't have the guy, Okay, But the question is
- 1:49:38Speaker 3: with Kirk Cousins, is like, if kirk Cousins was in
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: a in a better I guess in general just situation,
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: then Minnesota, I don't know their head coaches. Their defense
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: is horrible, like you know, like so if Kirk Cousins
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: was playing, but no, But like the question is is,
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: like you know, it's funny, like you bring up last night.
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: If Kirk Cousins is the quarterback for the San Francisco
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: forty nine ers instead of the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings,
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: which he might be next year, you like can.
- 1:50:15Speaker 5: Place the way it played last night, They're gonna lose
- 1:50:17Speaker 5: most games. I don't know what. I don't even know
- 1:50:20Speaker 5: who those guys were. I can't believe how out of
- 1:50:22Speaker 5: position they were all night. It was amazing. They had
- 1:50:26Speaker 5: some ridiculous penalties.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: Is it fair to say that of all the positions
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: in football, the quarterback is most susceptible to his environment?
- 1:50:34Speaker 11: Yeah, I do.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:50:36Speaker 4: I don't want to believe that though, you know, I
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: want to believe that that you can have a quarterback
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: then that can affect the environment around them.
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: And yeah, I mean, I just Kirk Cousins gets thrown
- 1:50:44Speaker 5: around all the time and it's like.
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: Well, what do we want to do when we rebuild, Well,
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: we want to get an elite weapon like justin Jefferson. Sure,
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: you want to get a cutting edge offensive coordinator coming
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: from one of the hot.
- 1:50:53Speaker 5: Offenses in the league.
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: Oh, with Kevin O'Connell, you know what I mean, it's
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: like you see Minnesota making the same state mistakes that
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: people call in here all the time pitching, and it's.
- 1:51:00Speaker 5: Not I think he's fine. I just don't think that
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: he's the guy, that's all. I think he's good.
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: I think Shanahan would win the Super Bowl with Kirk Cousins.
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: With that team, Yes, Yeah, that's different. I think they're
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: gonna win the Super Bowl with Brott Berdy. Yeah, Well,
- 1:51:16Speaker 5: how was pretty less.
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: I didn't see the game down the stretch interceptions, what happened.
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: It's so funny, But they have.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: To have some injuries on offense. He doesn't, you know, Yeah, I.
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: Don't think that. I think the balance. I think the
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: balance of the game. They were really good offensively, and
- 1:51:30Speaker 5: he was really good. Now I know he didn't do
- 1:51:32Speaker 5: it at the end. He's the opposite of Mac. Yeah,
- 1:51:35Speaker 5: Mac did it at the end. Until the end. He
- 1:51:36Speaker 5: was averaging ten yards per He was playing really what
- 1:51:40Speaker 5: I want, but I had I had some interest in
- 1:51:42Speaker 5: that game. Didn't didn't turn out well, and he played
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: really He played really really well until the last drive
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: when they needed him to do it. Like if McCaffrey.
- 1:51:57Speaker 5: McCaffrey's fumble took seven points off the board, the field
- 1:52:00Speaker 5: goal kicker missed another kick they had, Yeah, I mean
- 1:52:04Speaker 5: one that they allow Jordan Adamson to take the ball
- 1:52:07Speaker 5: out of a defensive back to hand.
- 1:52:08Speaker 8: That was.
- 1:52:10Speaker 5: Sixty yard touchdown with no time left in the first half.
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: That's absurdly bad.
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't We're gonna turn into Vikings tonight, but
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: I give them a lot of credit, you know, No, Jefferson,
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: your guy was really fast. They they came out to
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: play Ellen Wisconsin. This probably is the most fun I've
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: had watching a game in two years. Big props to
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: the team for winning a game that I thought was unwinnable.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: I still don't think this changes much in the grand
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: scheme of things, though. I was on the new coach
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: slash quarterback train for more reasons than just the start
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: of this season alone. But hey, who knows, Maybe I'll
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: be proven wrong if the team proves Evans Fantasy Land true.
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: Okay, all right, that's calm. I had literally am in
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: the same exact boat as.
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: The email that happens good and I said, what, Yeah,
- 1:53:02Speaker 5: that's how I got on Mount Cook's.
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: I said, was that at least we have like some
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: like this right now, right here, right now, there is
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: a football season to be had for the Patriots. Yeah,
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: which you couldn't have said before Buffalo. Now in twenty
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: twenty four and beyond, I still have no clue if
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: they have the right people in place for the future
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: of the team, but for next week in Miami at least, yeah,
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: there's there's a slipper.
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: And I think too though, like even just aside from
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: the win, that you're starting to get, you know, just
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: some positive vibes from some guys.
- 1:53:34Speaker 5: You know, some guys are starting to step up.
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: I feel like in you know those two weeks where
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: they got blown out, it was like it was so
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: hard to feel good about anything that they were doing
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: at that.
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: Point, and talked about Pharroll Brown. Yeah, I know they're like, whoa,
- 1:53:44Speaker 5: Like that was it right?
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: Like that?
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: What is up with Pharaoh Brown? Where did that come from?
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: There's no way they could, like they can play koy
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: about it all they want. They had no idea Farrow
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: Brown was gonna be a big play machine.
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: The clutch Gan clutch Gene. That's the new thing.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: Every time he touches the ball, it's an explosive.
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: It's wild.
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: Dennis and East Boston emailing to compliment Paul Fred and
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Mike on all the deep Seinfeld references over the years.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: Please keep them coming. Pats and Seinfeld have been my
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: two favorite things to watch for who knows how long,
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: so I love it as a listener. Last week, two
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: brilliant Seinfeld references I think most people missed. Mike so
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: Perty is the guy that sidelined Jimmy Paul and you
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: end with a swirl I was cracking up, gentlemen, keep
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: them coming.
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: I need fans.
- 1:54:27Speaker 9: I need some fans that are alaw in order, Like.
- 1:54:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's unvery quotable though, like there's not a lot
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: of like moments and you're guilty.
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: You know, it's a very uplifting.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: You got to remember all the Lenny's lines, you know,
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: because Ny has the line, are you gonna watch the
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: new Jesse l Martin series? Watched?
- 1:54:47Speaker 5: I've watched a couple.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: Is it any good?
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: It's not bad? Uh that you watched a couple? Name
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: of it?
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: The educator. No, he's like a professor, right, educator.
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: It's the It's one of those like one word and
- 1:55:07Speaker 5: I missed it. That's al Michaels.
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: You know he's doing you know al Michaels talk about
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: washed My goodness, did you watch that Thursday night game?
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: The Irrational al Michaels like it's it's time, Oh, it's time.
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: It's okay, I just got a great run.
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: He's making bank.
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: I think he thinks it's ridiculous that he's doing games
- 1:55:31Speaker 5: on streaming with with herb Street and he's just just like.
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: Nobody that check Claire, Yeah, okay, talk about mailing it in.
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: I'm just gonna continue wearing my pants up to my
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: nipples and I'll be fine with it. That show is
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: not bad, though, Okay, I just kind of these days.
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: I don't want.
- 1:55:53Speaker 5: I know, you don't. You're a snob.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: Commercials. I don't want.
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: I don't don't watch a ton of watches The Bachelor.
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: You kidding me? I do not watch the bat watch
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: the Bachelor.
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: I'll watch the Bachelor, but not the Bachelorette. That's where
- 1:56:08Speaker 5: you draw the gold. This is what I always say.
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: This is what I always say. It's always the same thing.
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: So I'd rather I'd rather watch crazy women than stupid guys,
- 1:56:16Speaker 4: Like the Bachelorette is both of those bunch of stupid
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: both but it was mostly like that's right, is mostly
- 1:56:21Speaker 4: your dealing with stupid guys the whole time, And I
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: think you're being nice calling the women just crazy.
- 1:56:26Speaker 5: And not stupid.
- 1:56:27Speaker 9: Well, if you enjoy that, you should watch the Love
- 1:56:29Speaker 9: is Blind, Like, if.
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: You're not there for the right reason, Love is blinded,
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: Love is fantastic?
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: Want to go down the road?
- 1:56:36Speaker 9: Was Blind is the greatest show so good on Netflix?
- 1:56:40Speaker 5: Season five just wrapped.
- 1:56:41Speaker 7: That was the COVID show, right, first, Yeah, yeah, we watched.
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: I can't comment.
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: Didn't see when that girl asks him if he would
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: pay for her water heater if it broke, It's like
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: my name on the.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: Deed, Adrian writes in Listening to the Hub and Hardy
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: just throw a subtle jab at PU postgame show. While
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: speaking about the Rusk missing the Bruins team meeting, he said,
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: it's not like it's a two hour meeting with a
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: break for lunch. Wow. Also, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: and would love to hear the Duncan Coulata Paul Parolo's
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: sound bite. If you still have it on a hard
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: drive somewhere, the pfw O g s will know what
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: I'm talking.
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: Is Jake de Brest missing that meeting is bad? Like
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: it was in La It was a meeting in the
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: team hotel, so all all you had to do was
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: get out of bed and walk downstairs.
- 1:57:27Speaker 5: He didn't play in the King's Game. Yeah, how do
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: you miss the meeting?
- 1:57:31Speaker 7: Well, he probably met somebody and then he was at parts.
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: He was parts unknown. That's probably right.
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: You got to keep it in line.
- 1:57:37Speaker 8: I have a question for the married people and Evan,
- 1:57:40Speaker 8: you're almost married basically, So a question this is on
- 1:57:42Speaker 8: love is blind and he got to dinner, who pays
- 1:57:46Speaker 8: for the meal? Me? Me?
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: Us?
- 1:57:50Speaker 5: But it is our money but I pay.
- 1:57:53Speaker 7: Yeah, we're both here, so it's our money.
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not I put the card out.
- 1:57:58Speaker 8: Okay, Yeah, that was a That was a huge blow
- 1:58:01Speaker 8: up on there because the guy answered and was like,
- 1:58:02Speaker 8: fifty to fifty every time, Like we just both put
- 1:58:05Speaker 8: our cards.
- 1:58:05Speaker 9: Down, that was his response.
- 1:58:07Speaker 5: But they're not. They're married. They were married. He's talking
- 1:58:09Speaker 5: about dating.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: They were going to dating. I always paid.
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: Now dating, I always paid too. But I'm a little
- 1:58:14Speaker 5: little fashioned engaged.
- 1:58:16Speaker 8: Check him like when we get married out to eat,
- 1:58:19Speaker 8: like who's going to pay? And he was like, we
- 1:58:20Speaker 8: both put our cards down.
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: That was sad.
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: But when we get married, it's one pool.
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: It's one pool, and you're engaged like it, like we
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: have one credit card that for every for the.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: House, honest.
- 1:58:33Speaker 5: But if you're on you gotta you gotta, you gotta lie.
- 1:58:36Speaker 7: We'd be like, well, I would like if you really
- 1:58:38Speaker 7: want it to.
- 1:58:38Speaker 5: Work, like checking accounts, you guys have just one checking
- 1:58:42Speaker 5: Oh no, she's we have one one? Oh you each
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: have one.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's just for like they have, I wrote
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: a check is like years.
- 1:58:50Speaker 5: No, no, but you have a checking account, right, don't
- 1:58:52Speaker 5: you pay your bills electronically for the debit card? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:58:55Speaker 5: you pay. But plus you have to pay your bills
- 1:58:57Speaker 5: just because you don't write a check bills. Yeah so yeah,
- 1:59:02Speaker 5: so I think me too. I run the finance, kill
- 1:59:07Speaker 5: it and that's what.
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: Up to my I do eat checks, you know with
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: Bank of America.
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's that's what I meant. But checking account
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: is separate. We don't have one credit card, so that
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: like when we go out to dinner, like it just it.
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: We each put money into it.
- 1:59:24Speaker 5: And yeah, I just think it's funny that Beth has
- 1:59:27Speaker 5: her own checking account. And I always call it a
- 1:59:28Speaker 5: divorce account.
- 1:59:29Speaker 4: Right, I'm not really my mom had one, but there's
- 1:59:32Speaker 4: probably one hundred and sixty dollars in it right now.
- 1:59:34Speaker 5: There's there's way more money in her checking account than
- 1:59:37Speaker 5: ours makes, like fives what I make, you know, she
- 1:59:42Speaker 5: should have. She's going to regret that that nurse money.
- 1:59:46Speaker 3: I could definitely get the alimony if I needed it.
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: Paul's going to be squatting in the Peabody house.
- 1:59:51Speaker 5: With with what Fred pays me, Are you kidding me?
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:59:55Speaker 3: At least five times that at least five us.
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: All Right, I gotta go, I gotta meet, we gotta meet.
