- 0:10Speaker 1: God bless football, Mikey.
- 0:13Speaker 2: A god blessed football, Gojo.
- 0:17Speaker 3: God bless football. Stude God, how we doing guys.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We're doing good, go Joe.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Well, football season is officially started because Lebron finally made
- 0:24Speaker 4: his decision about that.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I mean, it's nice to close that final door on
- 0:29Speaker 3: the offseason, right. Yes, dragged it out for as long
- 0:33Speaker 3: as he could to help us in that little gap
- 0:36Speaker 3: post World Cup and into football training camps opening. So
- 0:39Speaker 3: Heady played the king as always understanding how to manipulate
- 0:42Speaker 3: the media cycle.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yes, his new show, The Golicks, premiers August third, ten
- 0:47Speaker 4: to noon Eastern on ESPN Radio. We're excited for him,
- 0:50Speaker 4: We're excited for his dad, We're excited for the entire family.
- 0:53Speaker 4: It is called the Golicks because any two Golicks could
- 0:56Speaker 4: just show up.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Is that correct? Yeah? See, we wanted to build that
- 0:59Speaker 3: in the model. We know there are a lot of
- 1:02Speaker 3: Goloks out there, plenty of them whose faces and voices
- 1:05Speaker 3: have been familiar to the audience. So if we have
- 1:08Speaker 3: an off day, if the flights get mixed up or anything,
- 1:10Speaker 3: we can just sub any two goals in there.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Contractually, it's all built in. So this is all legal.
- 1:16Speaker 3: It all falls into the purview of the deal. But yes,
- 1:18Speaker 3: you are one hundred percent round.
- 1:20Speaker 2: The FCC would have something to say about Sydney joining
- 1:23Speaker 2: and running a national radio show. But out of curiosity,
- 1:26Speaker 2: how's Devin feeling that this week?
- 1:28Speaker 3: He's sick? Definitely ill for something.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Now, Mike, I mean, Mike, he wants this job.
- 1:32Speaker 4: He's producing my show, and yet he is lobbying right
- 1:35Speaker 4: in front of my face with no shame at all.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm just I'm asking.
- 1:38Speaker 2: About the old third best producer I ever worked with,
- 1:42Speaker 2: Devin and if possibly he needs to.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Just maybe not be there.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Perhaps it came off as me being angry. Perhaps it
- 1:49Speaker 4: came off as criticism.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I am proud of you.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Who's gonna say the student has become the teacher.
- 2:00Speaker 1: He does. He wants a job, So yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 3: No, Mikey, Devin's doing well right now. He said he
- 2:04Speaker 3: got the box of iceberg bagged lettuce that you sent him.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Listen.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I thought he could. I thought he could go on
- 2:12Speaker 3: a diet. Oh man, I get snatched for the start
- 2:15Speaker 3: of the show. So high, by the way, so I've
- 2:17Speaker 3: been eating nothing but that lettuce.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I mean, you guys know how I love a good salad,
- 2:21Speaker 4: and so this is really put a wrench into my diet.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It's so true, and it's the same for me. The
- 2:29Speaker 3: only way I can eat healthy is if it's salad
- 2:32Speaker 3: in a bag, like the easiest form of something green possible.
- 2:36Speaker 3: And now that you've taken that away, I've already been
- 2:39Speaker 3: to the McDonald's drive through for breakfast today. I'm falling apart.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I was saying the other day, I've been trading
- 2:44Speaker 2: my whole life for this one. Okay, not eating lettuce.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I've been trading my whole life not to not to
- 2:49Speaker 2: get sick this way.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I thought you meant having diarrhea.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yep, and gojo, you and me both. How about that? Wow,
- 2:57Speaker 1: you take salads out of my life, and that's what happens.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I go to MICKEYD. I mean, it can.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Only be asking you so much. You had to ask
- 3:04Speaker 3: me to actually cook vegetables on my own portailor them
- 3:08Speaker 3: in some sort of way.
- 3:10Speaker 2: So, speaking of explosive diarrhea, I got to ask you
- 3:14Speaker 2: about John Harbaugh's introductory press conference or meeting with the team.
- 3:18Speaker 1: What a transition.
- 3:20Speaker 4: By the way, I didn't even ask him about Lebron yet,
- 3:22Speaker 4: but anyway, go ahead.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But I but you know what, it just worked. I
- 3:25Speaker 2: just had to try it, go for it. I think
- 3:28Speaker 2: we have that sound, Mike. I want you to listen
- 3:31Speaker 2: to this. I'm sure you've heard it, and you've been
- 3:33Speaker 2: in these meetings. You've been to these first day of camp.
- 3:36Speaker 2: You know, I'm the coach. This is our philosophy. Is
- 3:40Speaker 2: this how painful?
- 3:41Speaker 3: They are?
- 3:43Speaker 6: Welcome man, Good to see her by here.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Excited, Yes, sir, little.
- 3:51Speaker 6: Nerves mansited nerves, you know, nervous, like full of game,
- 3:55Speaker 6: almost manson give to say, kickoff? Standing up here in
- 4:00Speaker 6: front of the New York Giants, the New York Giants.
- 4:05Speaker 6: This is a New York Giants sitting in this room,
- 4:08Speaker 6: the New York Giants. Wow, it's an honor. Listen, just
- 4:15Speaker 6: stand in front of this room right now. I know
- 4:17Speaker 6: this coaching doctor feel the same way hard coaches. It's
- 4:21Speaker 6: an honor. We were working heavily, working early, and were
- 4:26Speaker 6: late getting ready for today today, sitting in this chair
- 4:31Speaker 6: in his seat, getting to work, getting started our beginning,
- 4:37Speaker 6: because this is where it all begins.
- 4:40Speaker 3: To get it.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Oh boy, you know.
- 4:53Speaker 3: It's not the worst I've heard like it just it
- 4:56Speaker 3: was a lot of words to not say very much.
- 4:59Speaker 3: And this honestly should be encouraging to young coaches because
- 5:04Speaker 3: we usually think of this right as the introductory press
- 5:07Speaker 3: conference for new coaches who haven't done this yet. Nick
- 5:10Speaker 3: Sirianni when he took over with the Eagles Adam Gase
- 5:14Speaker 3: and the press conferences you remember at the beginning of
- 5:16Speaker 3: the Jets with the eyes. Anyone can get up and
- 5:19Speaker 3: at times not give their best performance in front of
- 5:23Speaker 3: the room. Someone even as accomplished as John Harbaugh, who
- 5:25Speaker 3: has addressed to these rooms for professionals at the.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Highest level for decades in the NFL.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you would think he'd be better at it.
- 5:32Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, Mike, if you were to choose
- 5:38Speaker 4: a coach, like if I said to you, Hey, all
- 5:41Speaker 4: the coaches gave a speech to their team to get
- 5:44Speaker 4: them ready for the upcoming season, one of the guys
- 5:46Speaker 4: you would want to hear from is John Harbough because
- 5:48Speaker 4: you imagine it would be very good.
- 5:50Speaker 3: No, you would think, But it's a reminder too, there
- 5:54Speaker 3: are actually, like and again I didn't play a long
- 5:57Speaker 3: NFL career, but in my college lifetime, there's not actually
- 6:00Speaker 3: that many coaches that are great orators. In front of
- 6:02Speaker 3: the room, like you don't encounter all that many. It's
- 6:05Speaker 3: what makes the ones that are great stand out. Like
- 6:07Speaker 3: I remember God Rest his soul when Lou Holtz came
- 6:09Speaker 3: and talked to our team when I was in college.
- 6:11Speaker 3: That was instantly like, oh, okay, oh he does this
- 6:15Speaker 3: at the highest level bar none. But it's a hard
- 6:19Speaker 3: thing to get up and know the right strings to
- 6:21Speaker 3: pull at any given time, especially when you got to
- 6:24Speaker 3: do it that often. So I have a good degree
- 6:26Speaker 3: of empathy because again the hard moxification of everything we
- 6:29Speaker 3: see so much that used to just be inside the
- 6:31Speaker 3: locker rooms, and in nine out of ten of those
- 6:34Speaker 3: like introductory meetings, team meetings, you're just waiting to get
- 6:37Speaker 3: your individual meeting like this is usually a formality. You're
- 6:40Speaker 3: set in the tone, But the tone is set by
- 6:43Speaker 3: the money and the fact that your livelihood depends on
- 6:45Speaker 3: you going down there and running down on kickoff as
- 6:47Speaker 3: hard as humanly possible every day. If you need John
- 6:50Speaker 3: Harbaugh to get you that fired up for what's about
- 6:53Speaker 3: to go down in training camp, if you're me and
- 6:55Speaker 3: the fifteen dudes on the back end of the roster,
- 6:57Speaker 3: where every day you're wondering if you're gonna he'll be
- 7:00Speaker 3: out there in stretch lines, you're probably in the long,
- 7:02Speaker 3: wrong line of work.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Mikey Hey put it on the poll at Stig got
- 7:06Speaker 4: seven ninety at X was John Harbaugh, the nervous one.
- 7:10Speaker 7: He's asking everyone if they're nervous, and yet he's the
- 7:13Speaker 7: guy who sounded nervous, and I love when he lapses
- 7:16Speaker 7: into if I just say the Giants one more time,
- 7:19Speaker 7: but a little bit louder and a little more emphasis, right,
- 7:23Speaker 7: it's gonna get the guys fired up.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And it didn't work.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It sounded to me like a kid who had to
- 7:29Speaker 2: give a presentation on a book he didn't read. So
- 7:32Speaker 2: he stood up in front of the thing and he
- 7:34Speaker 2: was like, the Great Gatsby, The Great Gatsby.
- 7:38Speaker 3: You read the beginning, Yeah, I read the middle. Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 3: I was up all night. I read the end. Yes,
- 7:43Speaker 3: the Great gats Me, great book.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I've been there.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's everyone right now with the Odyssey out, trying to
- 7:53Speaker 3: act like they remembered anything that happened in that story
- 7:56Speaker 3: from when they read the cliff notes of it in
- 7:58Speaker 3: middle school or high school.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Oh god, it is, honestly, you.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Know what it gave me the energy.
- 8:03Speaker 5: And this makes sense actually the more I think about it.
- 8:07Speaker 5: New situation for him.
- 8:08Speaker 3: For the first time in a long time. This is
- 8:10Speaker 3: a divorced dad getting back out into the dating game. Yes,
- 8:13Speaker 3: you haven't done this with someone new in a while. Yes,
- 8:16Speaker 3: it's a new roster that's turned over this year, but
- 8:19Speaker 3: you've been doing it in the same colors, in the
- 8:21Speaker 3: same room, with generally the same people for a long
- 8:24Speaker 3: time now. So I bet there were some nerves in that,
- 8:28Speaker 3: no doubt.
- 8:28Speaker 4: I was saying that yesterday, the build up because there
- 8:31Speaker 4: are such high expectations for John Harbott to continue along
- 8:34Speaker 4: with that analogy. Not only is he single, not only
- 8:37Speaker 4: has it been a while, but he is the hot,
- 8:40Speaker 4: new single person that's available to everyone, and there's an
- 8:43Speaker 4: expectation that comes with that.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And he was nervous. He felt the expectations. He did,
- 8:48Speaker 1: He felt the weight the gravity of the situation.
- 8:50Speaker 7: He did.
- 8:52Speaker 3: He saw the replay of the video of his starting
- 8:54Speaker 3: running back to it a backflip coming off knee injury.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Yes, and Lamar Jackson meanwhiles like that. That's why I
- 9:00Speaker 1: wanted you guys to get rid of them up.
- 9:02Speaker 4: I mean, Jesus yes, anyway, Gojoe, what were your thoughts here?
- 9:07Speaker 4: We're sorry, we're going out of order, But Lebron James
- 9:12Speaker 4: chooses the Philadelphia seventy six ers, and in a town
- 9:16Speaker 4: that loves talking about football, loves to fire coaches, today
- 9:20Speaker 4: is a day to celebrate in Philadelphia. I think it
- 9:23Speaker 4: makes Philadelphia the favorites to win the NBA Championship.
- 9:26Speaker 3: What do you think. I won't go that far yet
- 9:31Speaker 3: because the Knicks still live here. They just actually did it.
- 9:34Speaker 3: They've got continuity on their size, and we've seen in
- 9:36Speaker 3: the past bringing together great names and a star team
- 9:40Speaker 3: usually doesn't materialize in just one year's time. And so yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 3: you got Jalen Brown there now to go along with
- 9:46Speaker 3: Maxi and Edgecombe and Joel Embiid. If he can stay healthy,
- 9:50Speaker 3: it's a great roster. And doing that in the Eastern Conference.
- 9:53Speaker 3: As part of the reason this always made the most sense.
- 9:57Speaker 3: I get the draw of Cleveland, I get the appeal
- 10:00Speaker 3: of Miami. He's been there before Golden State's got Stephed.
- 10:03Speaker 3: There were plenty of years in the meat of their
- 10:05Speaker 3: careers where he saw those guys laughing and yucking it
- 10:08Speaker 3: up at the All Star Game, where I thought, oh,
- 10:10Speaker 3: they want to play together at some point with real
- 10:12Speaker 3: stakes outside of the Olympics. Yeah, but if you are
- 10:14Speaker 3: looking for the true best opportunity, it was going to
- 10:17Speaker 3: be in the Eastern Conference, and it seemed to be
- 10:19Speaker 3: with this seventy six ers roster that was coming together.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Here's the interesting part.
- 10:22Speaker 4: If he wins a fifth this season, he obviously he
- 10:25Speaker 4: doesn't go out like that because he signed a two
- 10:27Speaker 4: year deal, so he sticks around for a sixth. If
- 10:29Speaker 4: he wins a sixth, does he exercise that option and
- 10:32Speaker 4: try to go for seven? Because ending it with back
- 10:34Speaker 4: to backs at Philadelphia is the perfect way to go out.
- 10:37Speaker 3: You know, It's so true. I mean, and that's always
- 10:41Speaker 3: the thing is I know he said it's his last decision.
- 10:44Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Please, we've we've never seen anyone do anything like this,
- 10:49Speaker 3: play to the level that he had, like and this
- 10:52Speaker 3: is a different version, right like short of Aaron Donald
- 10:54Speaker 3: who's getting ready to come out of retirement. Who I
- 10:56Speaker 3: heard me to Chimes on her podcast talking with Dominique
- 11:00Speaker 3: that his last year in the NFL, he was number
- 11:03Speaker 3: one in pass rush win rate ESPN's metric. I think
- 11:06Speaker 3: amongst at least interior D Lineman, if not all D Linemen,
- 11:10Speaker 3: but he retired, you know, at a more normal juncture. Here,
- 11:13Speaker 3: Lebron's an uncharted territory in every way. And for that
- 11:15Speaker 3: guy to still impact the game the way that he's
- 11:17Speaker 3: shown us he can incredible and to now go with waste, well,
- 11:19Speaker 3: he'll have even more help. Like, I'm not going to
- 11:21Speaker 3: put a limit on what he's doing.
- 11:23Speaker 5: That's idiotic. We still have that tweet about.
- 11:26Speaker 3: The bleepery going on when Lebron turned thirty that it
- 11:28Speaker 3: wouldn't be going on much longer, and that thing's aged
- 11:31Speaker 3: like milk.
- 11:31Speaker 4: He's at age forty one and he could still hold
- 11:34Speaker 4: everyone hostage.
- 11:36Speaker 3: We're all waiting.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Around for him to make his decision. It's incredible and
- 11:39Speaker 4: God bless him. I give him credit to be able
- 11:41Speaker 4: to be that good.
- 11:42Speaker 1: At this age.
- 11:43Speaker 4: He's coming off a twenty one, six and five year
- 11:46Speaker 4: To have that many teams who won him on a
- 11:48Speaker 4: league minimum, granted, but to have that many options at
- 11:51Speaker 4: the age of forty one is incredible for Lebron James.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Even for all the media attention he's enjoyed, right that
- 11:59Speaker 3: kind of had to feel nice to know, even at
- 12:01Speaker 3: forty one, I could still got it. I could see, yes,
- 12:03Speaker 3: like I could.
- 12:04Speaker 5: Make plenty of stuff change in this offseason.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I still got the juice right now where everyone's looking
- 12:10Speaker 3: at That had to feel nice that I could still
- 12:13Speaker 3: outrage Adam Silver about his schedule making at the end.
- 12:19Speaker 4: At the age of forty one. So am I crazy
- 12:22Speaker 4: to think he's gonna win a title in Philadelphia?
- 12:25Speaker 3: I don't think you're crazy. Like you know, it's a
- 12:28Speaker 3: scenario that lines up well with where Lebron's at in
- 12:31Speaker 3: his career, Like we knew, and the story with the
- 12:33Speaker 3: Lakers this last year was Lebron had found a way
- 12:37Speaker 3: to get comfortable being the third scoring option on the
- 12:39Speaker 3: Lakers and filling in a different role. And so now
- 12:42Speaker 3: that we know he's comfortable, getting him where he fits
- 12:46Speaker 3: in and doing this version of his career understanding, hey,
- 12:49Speaker 3: I don't want to go out there and try and
- 12:51Speaker 3: slug it out being the primary engine for an entire season,
- 12:54Speaker 3: then yeah, I think they've got enough around him on
- 12:56Speaker 3: the roster. The key, as always is can you get
- 12:59Speaker 3: Joel and b need to stay healthy and be that
- 13:01Speaker 3: force on the inside when it matters most down the stretch.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That's gonna be the whole thing for this roster is
- 13:06Speaker 3: health at the right times.
- 13:07Speaker 4: We were debating the other Lebron, Yes, of course, we
- 13:10Speaker 4: were debating the other day. If Lebron went to Buffalo,
- 13:12Speaker 4: would he be wide receiver one or wide receiver two.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Or tight end one or TE one?
- 13:18Speaker 1: Right?
- 13:19Speaker 3: Dog kin Kate's pretty good.
- 13:21Speaker 4: I mean yeah, but Lebron is not going in there
- 13:23Speaker 4: to be a number two to Dalton Kincad, I mean,
- 13:24Speaker 4: come a, no.
- 13:26Speaker 3: It's a fair point. But you're also going to be
- 13:28Speaker 3: exclusively a pass catcher. You don't want to put his
- 13:31Speaker 3: hand in the dirt red zone option only. I would
- 13:33Speaker 3: say wide receiver one B right now, Like I'll give
- 13:37Speaker 3: DJ more the respect. He's he's Oede coming over there
- 13:40Speaker 3: and filling that slot now, but he is at worst
- 13:43Speaker 3: one B. I'm a Bill's wide receiver corps.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Taylor has a new game for us. We'll get to
- 13:47Speaker 4: it at just a second here. But the SEC, can
- 13:50Speaker 4: they just break off leave already? I want to see
- 13:52Speaker 4: what it looks like. What would it look like if
- 13:54Speaker 4: the SEC actually did this football?
- 13:57Speaker 3: It would be interesting because we're getting to the point
- 14:00Speaker 3: now where you hear all these people in major conferences
- 14:03Speaker 3: and you know the SEC had been critical bringing up
- 14:06Speaker 3: the Big Ten scheduling practice over the last number of
- 14:09Speaker 3: years in terms of who they've gone after out of conference.
- 14:12Speaker 3: In these seasons where Indiana, Ohio State, and Michigan have
- 14:15Speaker 3: won the last three championships and if you go back
- 14:18Speaker 3: and look they're out of conference, was basically nothing and
- 14:20Speaker 3: nobody with the exception of Ohio State played Texas last
- 14:23Speaker 3: year to start the season and will it this year.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But in the years where these teams won championships, they
- 14:28Speaker 3: didn't really play anyone on a conference, So what we
- 14:30Speaker 3: saw was them play a conference schedule and then go
- 14:33Speaker 3: win a championship. But I think there'd be some appeal,
- 14:36Speaker 3: like you'd still get a bunch of really good games
- 14:39Speaker 3: out of the football portion of doubts. This is sort
- 14:41Speaker 3: of excluding the complications that would come with basketball. All
- 14:45Speaker 3: the other sports like that would be a nightmare trying
- 14:47Speaker 3: to figure out how that all works and how you
- 14:49Speaker 3: maintain interest, especially at a thing like college basketball. Without
- 14:52Speaker 3: the tournament. In football, you'd have a compelling regular season,
- 14:55Speaker 3: But then I feel like it would leave people wanting saying,
- 14:57Speaker 3: all right, even if you're the most strike SEC fan,
- 15:01Speaker 3: you get done with the year. It's a great year.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Georgia and Texas and LSU and Alabama all look incredible.
- 15:10Speaker 3: And then you finish the end of this year they
- 15:11Speaker 3: play their version of the SEC Championship, and then you
- 15:14Speaker 3: sit here and watch all these other teams and you grumble, going, well,
- 15:16Speaker 3: we think we're better than them. We think we're better
- 15:18Speaker 3: than them, and you have no means to go and
- 15:20Speaker 3: prove that.
- 15:21Speaker 7: Now.
- 15:21Speaker 3: I do feel like that would wind up feeling a
- 15:24Speaker 3: little bit hollow for fans who even think with yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 3: all the might and SEC supremacy, like you still want
- 15:30Speaker 3: the opportunity, especially when it matters most to test yourself.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Uh, mikey A, what do you think the SEC is
- 15:35Speaker 1: never gonna do this though? Right Mike? They're not like
- 15:37Speaker 1: it's just a threat, right, Yes.
- 15:39Speaker 5: I don't even like, you know, I don't even know
- 15:42Speaker 5: how real the threat is.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Like you see Greg Sanke's comments after and he's like,
- 15:45Speaker 3: I understand people wanted to latch onto this. He's like,
- 15:48Speaker 3: people are frustrated and just talking openly about solutions. Their
- 15:52Speaker 3: real focus is on how can we kind of make
- 15:54Speaker 3: the rules a little bit more easy to follow for
- 15:59Speaker 3: the people in their conference? Now there is also a
- 16:01Speaker 3: part of me that says you could do that by
- 16:03Speaker 3: just following the rules in place. But when not everybody's
- 16:06Speaker 3: held to that standard and there's not one clear set
- 16:08Speaker 3: of rules, you don't want to be the only one
- 16:10Speaker 3: playing by them because then you feel like you're at
- 16:11Speaker 3: a disadvantage. But no, I ultimately don't think they're going
- 16:15Speaker 3: to do this. I think this is frustration that everyone
- 16:18Speaker 3: is carrying and working through in different ways that will
- 16:21Speaker 3: ultimately amount to a lot of inaction.
- 16:23Speaker 4: For right now, We'll get to our game in a second.
- 16:25Speaker 4: He mentioned Aaron Donald before and talking about men and dominique,
- 16:29Speaker 4: and he might be coming out of retirement. Mikey, A
- 16:31Speaker 4: The NFL is so funny, right because random teams can
- 16:34Speaker 4: win on any given year. We saw it last year
- 16:36Speaker 4: with Seattle and Sam Darnold. But for the first time,
- 16:39Speaker 4: I am tempted to take a team over the field,
- 16:41Speaker 4: and that team is the Rams. Mikey, Are you with
- 16:44Speaker 4: me on that?
- 16:46Speaker 3: Oh?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Man, I just feel like it is so lined up
- 16:49Speaker 2: for them. It really is too lined up. One might say, yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 2: it's it just aligns too well. Where's the Super Bowl
- 16:57Speaker 2: this year? La?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:58Speaker 3: There you go.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I mean Mike, what do you think.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I think they're certainly in pole position right now. I'd
- 17:05Speaker 3: probably still take the field because it's a violent game.
- 17:08Speaker 3: You're talking about a team that is, you know, especially
- 17:11Speaker 3: offensively predicated on Matthew Stafford staying healthy, which he did
- 17:15Speaker 3: last year after a preseason where we weren't sure if
- 17:18Speaker 3: that was going to be the case.
- 17:19Speaker 1: With the back.
- 17:20Speaker 3: They've got some questions about offensive line depth right now.
- 17:23Speaker 3: But yeah, I think they're number one at this point.
- 17:27Speaker 3: I just still think I would take the field, knowing
- 17:29Speaker 3: what we know about.
- 17:30Speaker 1: This sport, all right.
- 17:31Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Stafford's health is a big reason as to why you
- 17:33Speaker 4: would not take the Rams here. So God bless football

- 19:13Speaker 8: In Louisiana, Taylor has a new game.
- 19:30Speaker 1: He came in a little bit late.
- 19:31Speaker 4: That's because he was preparing this new game for God
- 19:34Speaker 4: Bless football.
- 19:35Speaker 1: What do you have for us, Taylor?
- 19:36Speaker 5: So this game is gonna be a game I saw
- 19:38Speaker 5: on TikTok where you each have twenty dollars yep, and
- 19:42Speaker 5: it's gonna be like an auction game where you guys
- 19:44Speaker 5: have to fill out four spots. So this is gonna
- 19:47Speaker 5: be Stu Gotts Verse Verse Gojo and then Mike y A.
- 19:52Speaker 5: I'll let mikey A be the the judge who decides.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:55Speaker 4: So we have twenty dollars, yeah, each of us, and
- 19:58Speaker 4: we have to fill four spots yep.
- 20:00Speaker 5: So the first team up yep, Stu Gotts. You'll start
- 20:03Speaker 5: the bidding, okay, and then once somebody doesn't want to
- 20:06Speaker 5: go higher, that person just has to say it and
- 20:09Speaker 5: that person will get that team for that price.
- 20:11Speaker 4: So we're bidding on these actual teams here, correct, okay,
- 20:14Speaker 4: got it, And we have to keep a budget in mind, okay, correct?
- 20:17Speaker 1: All right, because that well, yes, I'm explaining it.
- 20:20Speaker 3: To go one.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, it's going to be for stots and the
- 20:23Speaker 5: category is college football teams this season.
- 20:27Speaker 1: All right, college football teams this season.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Before we get to that, gojo, Indiana basketball school or
- 20:32Speaker 4: football school?
- 20:34Speaker 3: Well, I mean now football school traditionally basketball school. But
- 20:38Speaker 3: you know what have you done for me lately? Basketball
- 20:40Speaker 3: hasn't done much in a while. And Kurtzignetti's got the
- 20:43Speaker 3: highest ranked wide receiver in the country coming to his school.
- 20:46Speaker 5: They just want a quarterback battle for a four star.
- 20:48Speaker 3: They're on fire.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Florida basketball.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Or football ball school? Football school. That's a football school.
- 20:56Speaker 5: It's closer to a both school, quite honest.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Yes, Indiana I think would fancy themselves as a basketball
- 21:03Speaker 4: school even with the recent success of the college football program.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Do you have another one for mikey UCLA. Oh, I'll
- 21:13Speaker 4: say basketball school.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yeah, same same, Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Okay, yesterday you said football school.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Well I did. That was yesterday and today's today?
- 21:20Speaker 3: Man, how about that today?
- 21:21Speaker 1: Yep.
- 21:21Speaker 3: By the way, for the people watching this on any
- 21:24Speaker 3: in any former fashion, I am taking notes on this
- 21:27Speaker 3: segment with an Eggo pen. Oh guy, multiple colors available.
- 21:30Speaker 3: There and a waffle on top.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Yes, well, well done by you. Mark Cockman claims that
- 21:35Speaker 4: a sharpie in his mouth makes him look smarter. Put
- 21:38Speaker 4: that in your mouth and let's see if it makes
- 21:39Speaker 4: you look smarter.
- 21:41Speaker 3: It makes me hungry. Oh you know what? And too,
- 21:45Speaker 3: this isn't a I think this isn't a racer on
- 21:47Speaker 3: the back end.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Oh interesting, now, never mind, it's just like a rubbery waffle.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Good, you just put a rubbery waffle in your mouth.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Oh gosh. All right, So twenty dollars four teams. Give
- 22:00Speaker 1: us the first team here, Taylor.
- 22:02Speaker 5: It's gonna be the Texas Longhorns.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Okay, I'll start the and I start the bidding here.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Yep, you can start the bidding wherever you want.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So I am taking this team with the hopes of
- 22:12Speaker 1: them winning the national championship. Obviously. Yeah, okay, so Texas,
- 22:15Speaker 1: I'll start the bidding at three dollars.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Gojo, I'll go.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I'll go four man.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Porch manning sec so so coach and a Soso quarterback.
- 22:32Speaker 1: But I'm still willing to go five five bucks.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Give them to me. I'll go. I'll go six.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Wow, I will. I'll stop the bidding. You can have
- 22:45Speaker 1: Texas at six dollars.
- 22:46Speaker 3: How about that?
- 22:47Speaker 1: I like this game already.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Yes, so Gojo is down to fourteen dollars. Stu got
- 22:51Speaker 5: still has twenty.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 5: The next team up, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and Mike
- 22:59Speaker 5: starts the Herejo starts the bidding. Yet, I'll start the
- 23:03Speaker 5: bidding at three dollars.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I'll take it straight to five. How about that you
- 23:10Speaker 1: can have them? Thank you? Wow, I got the buck eyes.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm so happy.
- 23:16Speaker 5: I have no idea if they're good or who. The
- 23:18Speaker 5: quarterback is still Juliansane it is.
- 23:22Speaker 3: It's Julian saying you got the best wide receiver in football, Like,
- 23:25Speaker 3: you're gonna have to overhaul the defense because you lost
- 23:27Speaker 3: a bunch of talent. But it's Octo State. They bring
- 23:29Speaker 3: in talent to guys every year.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So I'm feeling good at five dollars, just saying.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Stu Gotts, you start the bidding here. The next team up,
- 23:36Speaker 5: Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Who wow, man, I'll start the bidding at at three
- 23:44Speaker 4: dollars for the LSU Tigers.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Gojo contemplating he really.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Is well, he has no idea what teams are remaining.
- 23:56Speaker 3: It's I like to get He's literally on the phone
- 23:59Speaker 3: with his money guy is and.
- 24:00Speaker 1: He is sticking that rubbery waffle thing in his mouth.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I'm not gonna go any higher than that, so you
- 24:10Speaker 3: can have them.
- 24:10Speaker 1: You're gonna give me LSU for three bucks.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Wow?
- 24:13Speaker 4: Wow, I have the Buckeyes and the Tigers for a
- 24:16Speaker 4: combined eight dollars.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'm feeling good about that.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Two got your down to twelve dollars. Gojo has fourteen dollars.
- 24:22Speaker 5: But just Texas the next team up, the Notre Dame
- 24:26Speaker 5: fighting Irish. Gojo, you start the drive up the price,
- 24:30Speaker 5: drive up the price.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Oh I will you know? Listen, this game is in
- 24:34Speaker 1: my wheelhouse?
- 24:35Speaker 3: Kidding me?
- 24:37Speaker 1: So it's Gojo first here, yep, okay, I double.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Says, I'll start. I'll start. I'll start at three dollars.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Then I'm just gonna see how high he can go
- 24:47Speaker 4: dollar by dollar four. M I'll do six, Mike. If
- 25:00Speaker 4: I go well, I can't really can I can I
- 25:02Speaker 4: ask anyone? I'm just I'm wondering here. If I go seven,
- 25:05Speaker 4: if he goes eight, where's the line on not today?
- 25:08Speaker 3: You're out?
- 25:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:09Speaker 4: But I'm okay, with Notre Dame. It's seven dollars. I
- 25:11Speaker 4: still have five bucks left to get a fourteen. Wow,
- 25:17Speaker 4: I'll go seven dollars on Notre Dame.
- 25:24Speaker 3: So good.
- 25:25Speaker 1: There needs to be music, all right?
- 25:29Speaker 3: Who do I have left here?
- 25:32Speaker 1: Well, you're running out of money.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I just want the deal or no deal.
- 25:36Speaker 1: How much did Gojo spend on his first team?
- 25:38Speaker 5: Six dollars?
- 25:39Speaker 3: All right?
- 25:39Speaker 1: So if you go eight here, you got six bucks
- 25:41Speaker 1: left for two teams?
- 25:43Speaker 3: Yep? No, I know you're boxing me into a corner
- 25:45Speaker 3: right here. So the smart thing would be to let you, yea,
- 25:49Speaker 3: let you take seven dollars off the board, and then
- 25:51Speaker 3: you'd have five left for one, five for one, Yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 3: I'd have fourteen left for three. Yes, and I'm still
- 25:56Speaker 3: gonna get man box me in. Yeah, I gotta let
- 26:00Speaker 3: you have him for seven.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I'll take him, thank you? Yes, luck of the Irish
- 26:03Speaker 1: of that?
- 26:04Speaker 5: What a roster Stu Gotts has right now? Ohio State
- 26:07Speaker 5: for five, LSU for three, Notre Dame for seven. Stu
- 26:11Speaker 5: gots down to five dollars, but he only needs one
- 26:13Speaker 5: team left, Kjo. The next team up, the Georgia Bulldogs.
- 26:18Speaker 4: That's a good tea, So do I start the bidding here.
- 26:20Speaker 4: You could start the bidding, all right, so, uh, three
- 26:23Speaker 4: dollars for Georgia. I should just start at five?
- 26:25Speaker 5: No, yes, essentially, if you really yeah yeah, five.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Yeah, So I'll go. I mean I'll go five here.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Okay, you could take Georgia. I mean they're all yours.
- 26:39Speaker 4: They've been knocked out in the quarterfinals. I think the
- 26:40Speaker 4: last two years they complain about too much time off.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Give me a break enough, Kirby Smart tired.
- 26:47Speaker 5: The next team up, the next team up. So, Gojo
- 26:52Speaker 5: has nine dollars left. Stu Gotts has five dollars left.
- 26:55Speaker 5: The Oregon Ducks. Wow, Gojo, you could start the bidding.
- 26:59Speaker 3: You like Orgon, all right, I'll go, I'll go I'll
- 27:01Speaker 3: go six on this.
- 27:03Speaker 8: I can't do it because I can't, damn it.
- 27:07Speaker 5: I wanted them two teams left. Gojo has three dollars.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Stu Gotts has five dollars. So essentially, Stu Gotts decides
- 27:14Speaker 5: if he wants this team or presses luck with the
- 27:17Speaker 5: eight team. Stucotts the Alabama Crimson Todd.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Mm hmmmmmmm, man, I have no idea what the next
- 27:32Speaker 1: team is. That's the problem. You could be sticking me
- 27:36Speaker 1: with Hawaii for.
- 27:37Speaker 5: All I know Rainbow Warriors, Oh, I love them?
- 27:42Speaker 1: And how much money does Gojo have left?
- 27:44Speaker 5: Three dollars? The money really doesn't matter. It's just determining
- 27:47Speaker 5: if you want.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I can get four teams just to
- 27:50Speaker 4: have a couple of dollars left over. About that for
- 27:52Speaker 4: the next round. You don't get to keep the actual money.
- 27:54Speaker 8: The money does not.
- 27:58Speaker 4: I thought it carries over to the next game. I mean,
- 28:03Speaker 4: they're all yours Gojo. Wow, what if I don't want them?
- 28:09Speaker 4: Can we just press to the next team?
- 28:11Speaker 1: Do you want to see who the next team is? First?
- 28:13Speaker 3: I was gonna say, how many more teams do you have? Taylor?
- 28:15Speaker 5: There's just one more team? Oh, there's just one more team?
- 28:18Speaker 5: So Stu Gotts, is.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I mean Alabama three dollars?
- 28:23Speaker 3: Could?
- 28:23Speaker 4: I mean, we're at five dollars is great value. We
- 28:25Speaker 4: just have no idea what the next team is, and
- 28:27Speaker 4: that's the point of the game. So we're not gonna tell.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Us, all right, So basically Stu Gotts gets the choice then,
- 28:34Speaker 3: so if he doesn't take Alabama, I have to take them,
- 28:36Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yes?
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yep?
- 28:37Speaker 1: And I get stuck with the next team.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I mean all right, fresh and if it's if it's
- 28:42Speaker 2: Stu Gotts's turn, he has to bed a dollar, all
- 28:45Speaker 2: right he does?
- 28:46Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, actually that is right. Stu Gootts does have
- 28:48Speaker 5: to be at least a dollar. Thanks, your choice if
- 28:52Speaker 5: you want to go, Hey, listen, I'm just oh so
- 28:53Speaker 5: wait so then if so, then if I don't want
- 28:56Speaker 5: to bid a dollar here, so you don't have to
- 28:57Speaker 5: take Alabama? Yeah, at least four dollars on the table. Man,
- 29:00Speaker 5: does mikey A want Devin Kane's job? Jesus Christ Am
- 29:04Speaker 5: good man. Wa If those are the rules, it feels wrong,
- 29:07Speaker 5: but yeah, I'll ob Steve Gotts Alabama. I want to
- 29:09Speaker 5: see who you got in the last spot here? All right,
- 29:11Speaker 5: Bamaford Dollar. I'll take him. Thank you, go Bamaford dollar. Yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 5: Stu gots four dollars that he has left over. Yeah
- 29:18Speaker 5: to win, Gojo the final team. The North Carolina's are ah, yes.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Alabama all tide. Oh you have no choice?
- 29:34Speaker 3: That was that was dirty Tailor's tough. That's tough, but
- 29:39Speaker 3: you know that's why we play the game.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Well, no, it's listen, it's mikey AA's faulty.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Maybe been the dollar you would have had Alabama, I
- 29:44Speaker 4: would have been stuck with Carolina.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Now you're not getting Devin's job.
- 29:48Speaker 5: Just to recap Gojo, you have Texas for six dollars,
- 29:52Speaker 5: Georgia for five dollars, Oregon for six dollars, and you
- 29:55Speaker 5: essentially got you and See on a free transfer. And
- 29:57Speaker 5: then Stut has oh LSU for three, Notre Dame for seven,
- 30:03Speaker 5: and then basically again Alabama free feeling good?
- 30:07Speaker 2: See, I going into it, I had Gojo as the
- 30:11Speaker 2: clear winner because he got one team that I think
- 30:13Speaker 2: is gonna win it.
- 30:15Speaker 3: But North Carolina just kills him. Stu gotts win.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I have four legitimate national championship contenders.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, but I think Oregon is the best team
- 30:25Speaker 3: of the bunch.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So does Mike.
- 30:26Speaker 3: That's why he's been so much. Yes, I know, but
- 30:29Speaker 3: the oh North that was dirty. I thought you were
- 30:32Speaker 3: gonna give him Indiana. Yeah, I thought I was getting Indiana, Miami,
- 30:37Speaker 3: maybe Old Miss Yeah. Like I could have could have
- 30:39Speaker 3: taken all those instead.
- 30:40Speaker 5: Me Bill Beliche, big year coming up, year two when
- 30:44Speaker 4: The jumping, he could have given you those options, but
- 30:47Speaker 4: then the game would have been bad.
