- 0:01When we look around and see the challenges facing us on the
- 0:04planet, our first impulse is generally to try to find some
- 0:09kind of fix to the situation. This generally takes the form of
- 0:14suggesting that our current economic or political system or
- 0:18model is defective deficient or broken.
- 0:22And thus, we need to either update it or switch to a
- 0:26different one. In some cases, those who have
- 0:30adopted a particular religious conviction, believe that by
- 0:34making everyone else believe, as they do will cure things.
- 0:38Thus there, may enter a missionary element to convert
- 0:42others. Some believe that there are
- 0:45simply Bad actors out in the world and they need to be
- 0:47controlled or eliminated. Thus, we have a retributive
- 0:52penal system or the use of heavy-handed policing or on the
- 0:57international level, the use of warfare to advance one's
- 1:01prescription for change needed in the world.
- 1:05Some believe that education or re-education will solve the
- 1:09problem. At the end of the day, we
- 1:13eventually see that none of these Solutions has actually
- 1:16succeeded then we look at whether we can escape the planet
- 1:21and begin interplanetary colonization with the idea that
- 1:26we can solve our problems by simply leaving them behind What
- 1:32is not recognized generally? Is that the problems we identify
- 1:36outside? Ourselves are reflections of our
- 1:39own basic human nature and that all the outer changes of form
- 1:45whether of political institutions, economic models,
- 1:48or religious preferences will accomplish nothing without an
- 1:53interchange that recognizes and changes the basics of what we
- 1:58call human nature, which is abundant I love habits
- 2:02conventions and preconceived ideas that we believe are fixed
- 2:07and immutable. When we turn our attention from
- 2:11outer space, to Inner Space, we begin to recognize that we carry
- 2:17all the problems of humanity within ourselves the capacity
- 2:21for greed the feelings of Desire or lust the drive toward anger,
- 2:27rage and hatred. These all remain latent within
- 2:31each individual waiting only for an opportunity to break forth
- 2:36and manifest. Despite the refrain that human
- 2:41nature, cannot be changed. There is evidence to the
- 2:44contrary. Techniques have been developed
- 2:48to break addictions or habits. There are innumerable examples
- 2:52of individuals who have made extraordinary changes in their
- 2:56ways of seeing and acting and the actions, they undertake in
- 3:00their lives. We describe the butterfly effect
- 3:05that shows that even small changes can have repercussions
- 3:08and effects far beyond the ostensibly initial action.
- 3:13And we have documented, what is called the hundredth monkey
- 3:16phenomenon that shows that a new capacity, skill or power becomes
- 3:22available to a wider population. When a specific threshold of
- 3:27knowing individuals has been reached If we begin to apply
- 3:32this information synergistically, we find that
- 3:36the exploration of Inner Space, the development of the
- 3:40standpoint of the witness of One's Own nature, and then the
- 3:44subsequent implementation of systematic changes, not only can
- 3:49change our own nature, but has its natural consequences in the
- 3:53world. And in the development of new
- 3:57forms and powers of human nature, who is to say which
- 4:02individual is two hundredth monkey in Humanities
- 4:06transformation. The mother notes, quote, and
- 4:12this is something an experience that one can have daily or
- 4:16almost when one has those movements of great enthusiasm
- 4:21great aspiration. When Once suddenly becomes
- 4:25conscious of the Divine goal, the urge towards the Divine, the
- 4:29desire to take part in the Divine work.
- 4:33When one comes out of oneself in a great joy and great force, And
- 4:38then, a few hours later, one is miserable for a tiny little
- 4:43thing. One indulges in so petty, so
- 4:47narrow, so commonplace a self-interested, Ennis has such
- 4:52a dull desire and all the rest has evaporated, as if it did not
- 4:57exist. One is quite accustomed to
- 5:00contradictions. One doesn't pay attention to
- 5:03this, and that is why all these things live comfortably
- 5:07together? As neighbors, one must first,
- 5:10discover them and prevent them from intermingling, in one's
- 5:14Consciousness, decide between them separate the Shadow from
- 5:19the light. Later one can get rid of the
- 5:22Shadow and quote, reference SRI aurobindo, and the mother living
