- 0:05Speaker 2: Now.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Now back to the Mark Simone show on woor.
- 0:11Speaker 4: Hey.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Let's say some calls. Eight hundred three to two one
- 0:15Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Stuart
- 0:18Speaker 2: in South Carolina. Stuart, how you doing?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hey, Mark? Carry you excuse me? I got cold when
- 0:25Speaker 1: you talk about that Flock system if I had been
- 0:27Speaker 1: an elected sheriff in my county.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah, Flox system is the speed cameras. It's owned by
- 0:32Speaker 2: a private company.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Well, we don't we don't use it. We don't have
- 0:35Speaker 1: speed cameras in the South. I think they're unconstitutional. But
- 0:39Speaker 1: the thing is, the Flock system is wonderful. It really is.
- 0:43Speaker 1: If you have a homicide suspect across the country and
- 0:47Speaker 1: he hits that camera or suspended license or any anybody
- 0:53Speaker 1: that you're looking for, and you put in that plate number,
- 0:56Speaker 1: it hits in that Flock system. My son has gotten
- 1:00Speaker 1: any many felonies out of that system. But when you're
- 1:03Speaker 1: turning about watching your house, I don't understand that. Because
- 1:06Speaker 1: the cameras are strategically placed on high, high traffic areas.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but what the argument is people thought that speed
- 1:16Speaker 2: cameras were run by the government. It's a private company.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Does it for the No, Yeah, that's true.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But the private company apparently is collecting tons of data
- 1:23Speaker 2: on everybody.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 1: See, I've never heard that, but you know, personally, it
- 1:28Speaker 1: may be a different system. I don't know. But down South,
- 1:33Speaker 1: like I said, we don't have red light cameras. We
- 1:35Speaker 1: don't have speed cameras at all.
- 1:37Speaker 5: But they do.
- 1:38Speaker 1: What they do is they watch and suspended plays, homicide suspects,
- 1:42Speaker 1: things like that. We can really zero in on them
- 1:45Speaker 1: and it is a wonderful system. But that's all it
- 1:49Speaker 1: does down here is just read license plates and then
- 1:51Speaker 1: they'll do very very quickly. In fact, NYPD has them
- 1:55Speaker 1: back on their cars. They're boxes. I don't know if
- 1:58Speaker 1: they've updated the technology.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Or not, but they use the same system.
- 2:01Speaker 1: But they're just reading license plates and when they get hits,
- 2:05Speaker 1: they go ahead and make a traffic stop and a
- 2:06Speaker 1: lot of times they're getting a lot of suspects out
- 2:09Speaker 1: of this.
- 2:09Speaker 2: All right, great stuff, Thanks for Colin Stewart. Let's go
- 2:12Speaker 2: to Frank in Sunset Park. Frank, how you doing, Hey, Mark.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Hey listen. I love all the interviews with Don.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Rickles and love the old stories about Frank Sinatra and
- 2:22Speaker 3: Johnny Carson. I know you helped out with that Johnny
- 2:24Speaker 3: Carson book. Do you ever think about writing a book
- 2:27Speaker 3: about all your celebrity encounters and interviews?
- 2:29Speaker 2: I love your Well, I've actually had many book offers,
- 2:31Speaker 2: and this has been going on for years, and the
- 2:34Speaker 2: problem is, you got to write the book. And every
- 2:36Speaker 2: time I sit down to write, I don't know how
- 2:37Speaker 2: a writer does it. I can't do it. I make
- 2:39Speaker 2: a few notes. Yeah, I got like eight book deals
- 2:41Speaker 2: going through the years, and I've never been able to
- 2:44Speaker 2: force myself to just sit there and write out this book.
- 2:47Speaker 3: But well, I'd love to read it if you ever
- 2:49Speaker 3: came up with You've got some so many great stories.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Really enjoy hearing them.
- 2:52Speaker 2: All Right, I'll get to it. I'll get to it
- 2:56Speaker 2: a couple people. Me just dictate it. Yeah, but then
- 3:00Speaker 2: you look at the dictation, it's all screwed up. It
- 3:02Speaker 2: takes hours to correct it and get it back into shape.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Let's go to rich In Myrtle Beach. Rich how you doing?
- 3:08Speaker 4: Hey?
- 3:09Speaker 5: Thanks, Mark, I had the same idea. You know, you
- 3:11Speaker 5: need a ghostwriter to do it for us. You don't
- 3:13Speaker 5: have to sit at the typewrite and do it. Every
- 3:14Speaker 5: time you turn on Fox News there is another host
- 3:16Speaker 5: showing another book. I don't know how these guys have
- 3:18Speaker 5: a life between all the work on TV and showing
- 3:21Speaker 5: these books and writing two books a week. I don't
- 3:22Speaker 5: know how they do it now. My wife and I
- 3:24Speaker 5: used to see Don Wickles open for a Sinatra back
- 3:27Speaker 5: in the late eighties and early nineties. It was really
- 3:29Speaker 5: such a great pair to watch those guys work together.
- 3:32Speaker 5: You know, you're talking about ice in New York State.
- 3:35Speaker 5: You know my buddy detective Bob out in San Diego,
- 3:38Speaker 5: he was a New York City detective for many, many years,
- 3:40Speaker 5: and he listened to you all the way back to
- 3:41Speaker 5: the Jay Diamond days and stuff. He says, he's watching
- 3:44Speaker 5: a lot of these landscaperc clues in San Diego. San
- 3:47Speaker 5: Diego go from six to seven people down to two
- 3:49Speaker 5: and three people as they come around and round them
- 3:51Speaker 5: up and take them out of you them.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I listened. Al we say, well, they're doing the
- 3:55Speaker 2: jobs Americans won't to Americans always did those jobs for
- 3:59Speaker 2: a million years. They just want do them for a
- 4:00Speaker 2: one third the normal price. That's the that's the real preference.
- 4:03Speaker 2: But thanks for calling. Let's go, let's go to uh
- 4:08Speaker 2: Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent.
- 4:10Speaker 4: How you doing, Good morning, Mack Mack. I'm okay. Remember
- 4:13Speaker 4: if anybody wants uh not have your license plate.
- 4:17Speaker 2: No no, no, don't say that on the air, don't say
- 4:19Speaker 2: it on you.
- 4:19Speaker 4: You know what I'm talking You said it.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Once and apparently it works. It's true.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Everybody in the works really really well.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Everybody in the NYPD called me and said, don't put
- 4:29Speaker 2: that on the air every day.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Okay, well, hey, let me I'll put this on the air. Mark.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I'm glad that the Trump administration and our great military,
- 4:40Speaker 4: the Navy in particular, are starting to take out these
- 4:44Speaker 4: mosquito boats. Because this is a true story.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Uh.
- 4:49Speaker 4: About forty years ago, my brother and I were going
- 4:53Speaker 4: to a restricted area on the nautical map on the
- 4:58Speaker 4: on the chart that you used navigation coming out of
- 5:02Speaker 4: Raridon Bay. There's this extremely long pier and around the
- 5:09Speaker 4: edges of it it says on the map on the
- 5:11Speaker 4: chart it says restrict NOP.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Did we lose visit?
- 5:18Speaker 4: We say, we said, well, let's go see what's in
- 5:21Speaker 4: this restricted area. So we drive the boat over there,
- 5:26Speaker 4: and before we get i'd say, we'rein a quarter of
- 5:30Speaker 4: a mile of this restricted area. The coast Guard comes
- 5:34Speaker 4: upon us and one of the guys on the Coastguard
- 5:38Speaker 4: boat says, hey, guys, you got to get the hell
- 5:41Speaker 4: out of here. And I said, why he said, And
- 5:44Speaker 4: then you could at the end of the pier you
- 5:47Speaker 4: could see it. It's where they docked the submarines and everything.
- 5:51Speaker 4: So what I'm saying is is when these mosquito boats
- 5:55Speaker 4: are coming at these tankers and other commercial ships, and
- 5:59Speaker 4: even at our naval ships, due to all the technology
- 6:03Speaker 4: we have, we can easily see from which ports these
- 6:07Speaker 4: boats are.
- 6:09Speaker 2: They've been doing that. When one comes out, we stop
- 6:10Speaker 2: it and then we blow up before.
- 6:12Speaker 4: It exactly because they can't op they can't operate from everywhere.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It's not like a basket ball where you could pull
- 6:20Speaker 4: up with a trailer and just put it in the
- 6:22Speaker 4: water and go after a destroyer or something like that. Also,
- 6:28Speaker 4: because they got the machine gun on the front of
- 6:30Speaker 4: the boat, the fifty caliber, you could pick that up
- 6:33Speaker 4: on the radar. These boats that they're using look like
- 6:38Speaker 4: twenty five twenty nine foot either make those ocean masters
- 6:42Speaker 4: with a nine or eleven foot beam. That's the way.
- 6:45Speaker 4: With the set of console and the de top doesn't
- 6:48Speaker 4: easy to pick up out.
- 6:49Speaker 2: They've taken out every boat that's come at him.
- 6:52Speaker 4: They gotta kill it. They gotta take well.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Vincent, we gotta go because we gotta do the news.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Great call, Thanks for calling. When we come back. The
- 6:58Speaker 2: best county executive in America. Next Governor of New York,
- 7:01Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman, will be with us next on seven ten
