- 0:01Speaker 1: Jacob hester and matt flynn let's go baby let's go
- 0:04Speaker 1: from a championship backfield to your morning drive hands.
- 0:07Speaker 2: To hester and hester got it five out of five you're.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Locked in to off the bench live from the raising
- 0:20Speaker 1: cane studio here's jacob hester and matt.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Flynn Welcome to.
- 0:53Speaker 2: OTB, here on this Monday morning, it is finally game week.
- 0:59Speaker 2: We got a real football game, football meatball. Soon we'll
- 1:05Speaker 2: be talking about actual football. We can't wait to do
- 1:07Speaker 2: that here on OTB. Jake Flynn, Alondra Tete, all here
- 1:11Speaker 2: with you. How we doing? How was the weekend?
- 1:13Speaker 4: You always give a lot of credit to kickers when
- 1:15Speaker 4: you talk about football starting. That's how the game starts.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Boot meets ball. Well, I'd rather say like pads meet
- 1:22Speaker 4: pads or something like that.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but that doesn't happen before boot meets ball.
- 1:25Speaker 5: The kickers aren't real.
- 1:27Speaker 6: Hands are shaken.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Hands are shaken.
- 1:30Speaker 6: Or the coin is tossed.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Oh. I like this. The first actual football action
- 1:37Speaker 2: of the game is when the boot meets the ball. Okay.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I guess.
- 1:44Speaker 5: That's still a lot of credit to the kickers. I
- 1:45Speaker 5: can't argue with that. That's still a lot of credit
- 1:46Speaker 5: to the kickers. I don't.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Love it.
- 1:51Speaker 6: Feels like kicker hate.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Hands will be clapped.
- 1:53Speaker 2: You know what I mean? You weren't a core four specialty.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I wasn't a kicker. You're right. So weird for you
- 2:01Speaker 2: to say that when you had a Very special relationship
- 2:04Speaker 2: with a kicker for the first three years of your career. Four, really? Yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 2: you were the holder of the boot.
- 2:11Speaker 5: I was, I was.
- 2:11Speaker 2: You were the boot.
- 2:12Speaker 5: You're right, I take it back. I love boot meatball
- 2:14Speaker 5: all day.
- 2:17Speaker 2: All day.
- 2:18Speaker 5: All day, all day long.
- 2:20Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Hey, good morning. Yeah, I'm doing great. Thank you for asking.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Kind of a weird way to start it. Yeah, it
- 2:25Speaker 5: just hit my brain when you said it.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I was like, man, you say that a lot, and
- 2:28Speaker 4: it's just a lot of, you know, we've been waiting
- 2:30Speaker 4: all offseason. for this game, for this season to start,
- 2:34Speaker 4: and it's here, and we just tend to give a
- 2:36Speaker 4: lot of kicker credit right now.
- 2:38Speaker 7: I don't think it's giving the kicker credit. I think
- 2:40Speaker 7: it's just saying the action of what's happening. The boo
- 2:43Speaker 7: is going to meet the ball.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I didn't say the kicker's name either.
- 2:46Speaker 5: The ball will be spotted.
- 2:48Speaker 2: How about that?
- 2:50Speaker 5: Well, it's actually spotted for, you know, they have to
- 2:52Speaker 5: bring the ball out there. So the ball is placed
- 2:54Speaker 5: on the tee.
- 2:54Speaker 6: That's what we're doing.
- 2:57Speaker 5: Not yet.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Very soon, ball would be placed on tee here in
- 3:01Speaker 2: Tiger Stadium.
- 3:03Speaker 5: I do love when Blair says boot meets ball. Blair
- 3:08Speaker 5: says it? Yeah. He says it every day. I love it.
- 3:11Speaker 6: I didn't feel like it was a very normal thing
- 3:14Speaker 6: to say.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Okay. Love that. It'll get stuck in your head the
- 3:20Speaker 5: more you listen.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Ball will be placed on tee. I wrote it down.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Boot meets ball.
- 3:26Speaker 2: After the ball is placed on the tee.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Good guy. All right.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Wait, why was Victoria making fun of you?
- 3:33Speaker 8: Because I was kicking the ball for Frankie yesterday, and
- 3:36Speaker 8: I was like, boot meets ball, and I kicked it.
- 3:37Speaker 5: She was like, what are you saying? I was like, sorry,
- 3:39Speaker 5: that's a Blair thing, and it's game week. You don't
- 3:41Speaker 5: even have boots on.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I didn't. Technically, he could. You know why? Because if
- 3:49Speaker 2: he wears a soccer cleat, which a lot of kickers do,
- 3:52Speaker 2: that's actually called a boot.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Don't ruin this week.
- 3:54Speaker 2: And not a cleat.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Don't ruin the week. We'll bring soccer into this game.
- 3:58Speaker 2: So technically.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Dabo's coming into town, playing in the real Death Valley.
- 4:02Speaker 6: He got Tara's ACL.
- 4:04Speaker 4: And we ain't talking about those dumb soccer terms.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Just telling you.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Game day's here. It's going to be a great week.
- 4:12Speaker 4: It's going to be a great week. It could be
- 4:13Speaker 4: very factual. It could be very factual. Why don't you
- 4:16Speaker 4: bring soccer cleats into this?
- 4:17Speaker 2: They're called boots. It's rage bait.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Hey, how you doing?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Everything's good? I'm good. I'd say strong to quite strong.
- 4:29Speaker 2: What about yourself?
- 4:30Speaker 5: I woke up and I felt great. I feel alive.
- 4:33Speaker 5: I didn't.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Physically, I still can't ninja get up out of bed
- 4:38Speaker 4: because of the pack. But I think mentally and spiritually
- 4:42Speaker 4: I did. Just physically I couldn't do it.
- 4:44Speaker 6: I love that for you.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 6: I hate that physically you can't.
- 4:48Speaker 7: But a mental ninja flip might be just as effective.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Normally, most physical things in life, I could just mentally
- 4:55Speaker 4: overcome them.
- 4:56Speaker 5: This one, I hadn't mentally overcome it yet. I guess
- 4:58Speaker 5: I didn't want it bad enough.
- 5:00Speaker 6: You don't. If it were me, I'd be over it
- 5:02Speaker 6: by now.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Still hurting, I know.
- 5:05Speaker 6: But I'm just built different, so.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Just different.
- 5:11Speaker 6: Hashtag just different.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You woke up spicy this morning, huh?
- 5:18Speaker 4: No, it's the whole, you know, it just was a
- 5:21Speaker 4: good conversation starter for the week, I feel like.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Okay.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So spicy. Yeah, spicy. All right.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 2: That's fine. Hey, did you have a good weekend? I
- 5:32Speaker 2: had a great weekend. Had family in town. Got a
- 5:34Speaker 2: chance to spend a lot of time with family. Yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 2: y'all were rolling deep yesterday. We were deep. So Friday,
- 5:41Speaker 2: we had the U-High Catholic Jamboree. And Saturday, I think
- 5:47Speaker 2: we just hung out and watched actual football for the
- 5:51Speaker 2: most part. the most part. Went to LSU for a
- 5:54Speaker 2: little bit and did watch their practice, and we'll talk
- 5:58Speaker 2: about that in a little bit, how they simulated everything,
- 6:01Speaker 2: which I thought was actually kind of cool and smart.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So we'll talk about that. But that was only for
- 6:05Speaker 2: a little bit, and my brother's air condition went, like
- 6:09Speaker 2: his air condition went out, and then went out like
- 6:11Speaker 2: on a Friday evening, so it was like already too
- 6:13Speaker 2: late to do anything. So I had my dad, stepmom, brother,
- 6:17Speaker 2: sister already there, and then Brother, sister-in-law, niece had to
- 6:24Speaker 2: come as well. Had to come to the house after
- 6:26Speaker 2: the AC went out. So we were packed. We were
- 6:29Speaker 2: filled up at the Hester household. Loved every second of it, huh? Yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 2: it was good.
- 6:33Speaker 6: It's always fun.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw y'all rolling into Lamar Dixon yesterday. They
- 6:38Speaker 4: just kept the line of people just kept coming through
- 6:40Speaker 4: the door.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, well, they all wanted to go to the card
- 6:43Speaker 2: show yesterday, which was a lot of fun. It was
- 6:45Speaker 2: good to see Chad Jones and Craig Steltz. A lot
- 6:48Speaker 2: of people turned out, so we appreciate y'all for coming out.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Fun a good time it was fun so huck and
- 6:53Speaker 4: i were driving to the car show yesterday and we
- 6:57Speaker 4: um we were doing some signings and he's like dad
- 7:02Speaker 4: who else is going to be signing autographs and i
- 7:04Speaker 4: was mr jacob and i was like and craig stiltz
- 7:07Speaker 4: and chad jones and he's like oh okay all right
- 7:09Speaker 4: who are they um like all right well so the
- 7:13Speaker 4: whole time we were driving down there Showed highlight films
- 7:16Speaker 4: with Craig Stelz and Chad Jones. It was fun because
- 7:18Speaker 4: Huck was watching it. He's like, oh, yeah, oh, what
- 7:22Speaker 4: a hit.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Oh, that's awesome. Another pick. It was great. So he
- 7:25Speaker 2: got introduced via the highlight film. It's probably like if
- 7:28Speaker 2: they did this today, they'd be arrested.
- 7:29Speaker 5: But that's it. Helmet to helmet.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, son. That's right. That's what we taught them.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Take you out and shoot you nowadays.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they would.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Football is football.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Really, though.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Really.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I was at a high school game on Friday. I
- 7:47Speaker 2: watched it on Saturday. I watched some– we are over-correcting, like,
- 7:52Speaker 2: hits in football. It is violent by nature, and I
- 7:57Speaker 2: understand trying to make it safer, but also we're doing
- 8:00Speaker 2: too much right now.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Well, and unfortunately, it's trickled down to high school. Oh,
- 8:03Speaker 5: my God. For a while it hadn't.
- 8:05Speaker 2: It is.
- 8:06Speaker 5: But it is now.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It's there now. It is certainly there now. Any who's.
- 8:11Speaker 4: And you've got to think, like, refs at the high
- 8:13Speaker 4: school level, which is a hard job anyway because you're,
- 8:16Speaker 4: it's like, it's basically volunteer work to go and do that.
- 8:21Speaker 4: And there's only so many refs out there, and we
- 8:24Speaker 4: appreciate all the service that the refs do out there,
- 8:27Speaker 4: for sure.
- 8:28Speaker 2: But, hey, easy on that.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Face, pal. But, like, when you are trying to.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Like you said, there's probably a huge overcorrection, especially with
- 8:37Speaker 4: people that aren't, like, trained and trained and trained and
- 8:40Speaker 4: trained like the NFL or college guys do, there's probably
- 8:45Speaker 4: a proclivity to overcorrect.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That is your word of the month. Proclivity? He loves
- 8:50Speaker 2: it this month.
- 8:51Speaker 5: It's because I sound smart when I say it.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Where'd you learn it? Was it a word calendar?
- 8:55Speaker 6: I was thinking about that this morning. I'm not going
- 8:57Speaker 6: to lie to you.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yeah. It's okay. Let's look at a synonym. I'll switch it.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I'll switch it daily. Once T-Ball taught me an amalgamation,
- 9:06Speaker 2: I used it for the whole year that year.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Objectively.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Oh, he loves that.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Oh, he loves objectively.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Tendency.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Tendency.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Inclination.
- 9:13Speaker 5: Inclination.
- 9:14Speaker 6: Propensity. Propensity is good.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Propensity is good because that will also.
- 9:18Speaker 6: Make you feel smart. A penchant.
- 9:20Speaker 5: There you go.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I mean, because all the dumb things that I say,
- 9:27Speaker 4: like you.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Got to have something. You do.
- 9:29Speaker 5: You've got to have something to fall back on.
- 9:31Speaker 2: No, I'm okay with it, like I said. Mine's amalgamation.
- 9:36Speaker 2: But you're right.
- 9:37Speaker 5: And the other day, I think I said it like
- 9:38Speaker 5: three times on the show, and I felt it that
- 9:40Speaker 5: third time.
- 9:42Speaker 2: The third time I felt it.
- 9:43Speaker 6: You were like, ooh, I'm doing too much.
- 9:46Speaker 5: I'm sounding too smart today.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Objectively. Objectively, proclivities. Anywhoos.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 5: It's good.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Clean fun. Londra, how was the weekend? Oh, my gosh.
- 10:07Speaker 6: I had maybe the best weekend ever in the entire world.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, because you went to Kanye.
- 10:12Speaker 6: I went to Kanye.
- 10:13Speaker 2: That feels like that was two weeks ago.
- 10:16Speaker 7: Right?
- 10:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 7: It does feel like it was a long time ago.
- 10:18Speaker 7: So I saw Kanye on Friday, and it was... incredible
- 10:22Speaker 7: it was amazing everything you wanted to be i want
- 10:24Speaker 7: it was everything i wanted it to be like he
- 10:27Speaker 7: started off the set real strong it was banger after
- 10:30Speaker 7: banger after banger the only thing is ty dollastine was
- 10:33Speaker 7: his guest and i don't really that wasn't as exciting
- 10:37Speaker 7: as i was hoping it'd be but um other than
- 10:40Speaker 7: that like kanye was amazing and i realized that i
- 10:43Speaker 7: have literally listened he has dropped an album in like
- 10:46Speaker 7: every era of my life no doubt about like since
- 10:49Speaker 7: i was a kid Like, Gold Digger was when I
- 10:51Speaker 7: was a kid, and then, like, middle school, high school, college.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Like, I've listened to Kanye in every era of my life.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Gold Digger was 2005? Yeah. I think.
- 11:01Speaker 5: I was in fourth grade or something like that when
- 11:03Speaker 5: it came out.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Chill out, bro.
- 11:05Speaker 6: Maybe a little earlier than that.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Sophomore. I remember Sharon Carey coming in and singing it. Okay.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Coach Porter's like, oh, Ray Charles. Like, no, Kanye. Yeah, 05.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Got it. All right.
- 11:20Speaker 6: But, yeah, best weekend. Like, it was so much fun.
- 11:22Speaker 7: And then I had my fantasy draft yesterday, so that
- 11:25Speaker 7: was fun, too.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Felt like you did well?
- 11:27Speaker 6: I feel like I did well.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Ball knower?
- 11:29Speaker 6: I think so.
- 11:30Speaker 2: All right. First pick? I did it.
- 11:33Speaker 6: Is this the family one? It's my family one.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I feel like Tay-Tay knows fantasy football better than he
- 11:37Speaker 2: knows anything in his life.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 5: Fair?
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I mean.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Or just like, yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 2: What else do you know better?
- 11:44Speaker 5: It's a small list.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Because you love to cut grass, but you don't know grass.
- 11:47Speaker 2: That's true.
- 11:48Speaker 5: I just like the way it looks.
- 11:49Speaker 2: You know fantasy football.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 6: So Gibbs was off the board. I was fifth.
- 11:56Speaker 7: So all the running backs that I wanted were off
- 11:58Speaker 7: the board. And I felt, yeah, Bijon was out. And
- 12:00Speaker 7: I felt like I could get another good one in
- 12:02Speaker 7: the second round. He was out too. He was my
- 12:05Speaker 7: daggone right before I did.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I know.
- 12:08Speaker 6: So I went Jamar Chase.
- 12:10Speaker 5: Jamar falling to five, though, is.
- 12:12Speaker 2: If you don't get a running back, Jamar is.
- 12:13Speaker 6: Yeah, because I felt like I could get a running
- 12:15Speaker 6: back in the second round. That was fine.
- 12:17Speaker 2: All right, NFL GMs. We'll see one of those guys later.
- 12:22Speaker 6: I was fully... I was fully GMing it up. I
- 12:25Speaker 6: got Etienne, Etienne.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Etienne?
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Well, it feels like they still call Trevor Etienne and
- 12:33Speaker 2: Travis Etienne.
- 12:35Speaker 6: I didn't get him in the second round, but I
- 12:37Speaker 6: got him.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good pick. Yeah. That's kind of ridiculous.
- 12:40Speaker 5: I got Caleb.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Brothers with different last names. Well, I think Carolina kind
- 12:45Speaker 2: of said, we're going to call you Etienne.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Who's right? And he's like, I don't know what my
- 12:51Speaker 5: brother's doing.
- 12:52Speaker 8: Carolina's like, we're going to stick to Etienne because that
- 12:54Speaker 8: other name's a nightmare, buddy.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay.
- 12:57Speaker 5: All right.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Hey, Tay, weekend?
- 13:02Speaker 5: Good? It was good. I did get Jameer Gibbs because
- 13:04Speaker 5: of the first pick. So that's great.
- 13:05Speaker 2: At the second pick, I got Bijan, just in case
- 13:07Speaker 2: you're keeping score at home.
- 13:09Speaker 8: No, it was a good weekend. Last night, I found
- 13:12Speaker 8: out huge news. Somebody's going to be broadcasting.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I was like, whoa. You're about to be a big
- 13:22Speaker 2: brother already?
- 13:23Speaker 5: I couldn't wait six weeks, I'll tell you what. That
- 13:26Speaker 5: happened before. No, I found out.
- 13:29Speaker 8: Somebody's going to be calling one Jackson Hester's game on
- 13:32Speaker 8: Friday night.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Oh, let's go.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 13:36Speaker 6: That's fun.
- 13:37Speaker 8: I got a text, and he's like, hey, can you
- 13:39Speaker 8: do this game? And I said, that depends. Is Jackson
- 13:42Speaker 8: Hester suiting up?
- 13:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 5: The answer was yes. I was like, you know what,
- 13:45Speaker 5: I'm in.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 13:47Speaker 5: You won't call on J-Bones. It's going to be a
- 13:49Speaker 5: good Friday night.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, if he makes it.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Oh, he got to be J-Bones.
- 13:52Speaker 2: J-Bones.
- 13:53Speaker 6: Bruh.
- 13:54Speaker 2: With a big hit. I tell you what, Rumble looks
- 13:56Speaker 2: real good.
- 13:59Speaker 5: That's because I got a Nussmeyer two weeks ago. Well,
- 14:02Speaker 5: I was about to say.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yes, they did.
- 14:03Speaker 8: In fairness, the tech said, hey, do you want to
- 14:06Speaker 8: do this game? It's Knox Kiffin versus Colton Nussmeyer. And
- 14:09Speaker 8: I was like, that might be fun.
- 14:11Speaker 5: I was like, that might be an interesting one.
- 14:12Speaker 6: Wait, are we all doing fantasy football in here? You're
- 14:15Speaker 6: doing it. I know you're doing it.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah, just like literally me, the boys, and Katie are
- 14:20Speaker 2: doing it.
- 14:20Speaker 6: And you got Bijan?
- 14:21Speaker 2: I got Bijan, yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 6: You're not doing it?
- 14:26Speaker 5: I'm doing it kind of.
- 14:27Speaker 6: You don't feel like a fantasy football person.
- 14:28Speaker 5: I like fantasy football.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Do I remember to set my lineups every week?
- 14:33Speaker 2: No.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Yeah. But do I like to be a part of things?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yes.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Huck is going to do it. Him and his fifth
- 14:39Speaker 4: grade buddies.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:40Speaker 6: I love that.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Joining a league. So got to figure out the draft situation, though.
- 14:46Speaker 6: Who'd you get first?
- 14:47Speaker 5: I got to be here.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Is it?
- 14:49Speaker 5: So I've always wondered this about.
- 14:51Speaker 1: So.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Like, you get the draft position. Everybody gets excited for
- 14:54Speaker 4: the first pick. But is the first pick actually good?
- 14:56Speaker 4: I don't like having.
- 14:57Speaker 5: The– I like having, like, if there's ten teams, I
- 14:59Speaker 5: like to be, like, eight.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 6: I thought fifth was a good spot for me.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 6: We have 12 people.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Ooh, that's a lot.
- 15:09Speaker 6: You want to know my– It's all my family.
- 15:10Speaker 2: My yearly fantasy football advice? So, if you're in, like,
- 15:15Speaker 2: a 12-team league, right, that's kind of deep. Ten, doesn't matter. Well,
- 15:20Speaker 2: nine of you are going to be losers.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Right?
- 15:24Speaker 2: So, if you know you're probably going to lose the percentages,
- 15:29Speaker 2: I always tell people, just draft a fullback. You'll at
- 15:32Speaker 2: least be gritty. You'll still be a loser, but you'll
- 15:35Speaker 2: be gritty. Because you'll have Kyle Juszczyk on your roster.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Jake took him second round.
- 15:41Speaker 4: The opinions expressed by the co-hosts on the show does
- 15:43Speaker 4: not directly reflect.
- 15:45Speaker 8: The opinions of this show. Gotta have somebody lead blocking
- 15:48Speaker 8: for him. We're going use check. J.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Cal, use check. Because you're going to be a loser anyway.
- 15:51Speaker 2: If you're going to lose, have some grit in the
- 15:54Speaker 2: way of losing, at least.
- 15:55Speaker 6: Okay, fair enough.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Yeah, no, don't do that, anybody listening. That's terrible advice.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Do it.
- 16:02Speaker 5: You're not even going to look good when you do it.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Cal, use check.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Do it.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I mean, how many times have you won fantasy football?
- 16:16Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever won. Exactly. Point stands.
- 16:21Speaker 4: So, like, there's a lot of high schools in Louisiana. So,
- 16:24Speaker 4: are you saying that chances are you're not going to.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Win at all?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Exactly. So, run the veer with a pullback.
- 16:29Speaker 5: So, just do something that's really dumb?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, run the veer. Be tough. You're going to be
- 16:34Speaker 2: a loser anyway. We'll be back. More OTV here live
- 16:38Speaker 2: from the Raising Cane Studio.

- 17:54Speaker 1: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn. Presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I can't explain any of these thoughts racing through my brain.
- 18:06Speaker 3: It's true.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Baby, I'm howling for you. All right.
- 18:15Speaker 2: There's something wrong with this plot. The actor's ear have
- 18:22Speaker 2: not got a clue.
- 18:26Speaker 6: Baby, I'm howling for you.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I mean, I know the song, obviously, but Suits.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 18:40Speaker 2: You got it. No doubt, right? Yeah. Anytime that we
- 18:43Speaker 2: have a question about a song, Suits is the answer, right?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Harvey's doing something pretty.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Bad, eh?
- 18:50Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 18:51Speaker 6: I still haven't seen Suits.
- 18:52Speaker 2: It's great. I love it. First four seasons.
- 18:57Speaker 4: It's one of those shows, like, you find and you
- 18:59Speaker 4: watch the first season, and you're like, oh, this is good.
- 19:02Speaker 5: And then you're like, oh, there's.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Like eight seasons.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Sweet, I'm in for it.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Like, I got my next couple months planned out. Right.
- 19:09Speaker 4: I don't have to even think about it at night. Oh,
- 19:14Speaker 4: there's what, 24 episodes per season?
- 19:18Speaker 5: It's like nine seasons. Yeah, it's great. Yeah, it took me.
- 19:23Speaker 2: It's the meme. One more, babe? One more?
- 19:26Speaker 4: No, I was disciplined. I went one episode per day. Well,
- 19:29Speaker 4: it lasted me a good three to four months.
- 19:30Speaker 5: Nice.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Not a big deal. I need to find something like that. Anywhoos.
- 19:39Speaker 2: What's happening?
- 19:40Speaker 6: Can't believe it's game week.
- 19:41Speaker 5: LSU, that's what's happening.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Can't wait. Ball will soon be placed on tee. Yep.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Whistle will be blown.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Whistle.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And they're going to kick the ball with their boots.
- 19:57Speaker 2: The kicker is.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yep.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I will find a way in this weekend's broadcast to
- 20:07Speaker 2: put in ball will be placed on tee.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Say meow.
- 20:12Speaker 2: And when you hear it, because you're obviously listening to
- 20:13Speaker 2: your podcast instead of the TV. Of course, I mute it.
- 20:17Speaker 2: TV down, radio up. You'll laugh. You'll think of me.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I already laughed. Thank you.
- 20:24Speaker 6: You have to like pause it or something.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to think it up. CB, Chris Blair
- 20:29Speaker 2: tells you like at the broadcast, like it's recorded, like
- 20:32Speaker 2: do this and do that. Have I figured it out?
- 20:35Speaker 2: I haven't, but I don't need to because I'm there. Y'all,
- 20:39Speaker 2: choose guys. Saints got down to 53. Surprise cuts.
- 20:47Speaker 6: Finally.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Go ahead and talk about that.
- 20:51Speaker 6: Tyler Shuck make it?
- 20:52Speaker 2: He did. Tyler Shuck made it. I think he said
- 20:56Speaker 2: he was the 53rd. 53rd. Yeah, so quarterbacks, you're going
- 21:00Speaker 2: to have, obviously, Shuck, Rattler, and Wilson. So you do
- 21:03Speaker 2: decide to keep three. Hunter Deckers is the one, the
- 21:06Speaker 2: odd man out. And you might be like, of course,
- 21:07Speaker 2: not keeping four quarterbacks. Four NFL teams kept four quarterbacks,
- 21:11Speaker 2: at least right now. Four.
- 21:13Speaker 5: What?
- 21:14Speaker 2: Four NFL teams get four quarterbacks. We'll come back to that.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Running backs, you got Travis H.J. Jr., Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller,
- 21:22Speaker 2: Odrick Estime. They all made the team, so four backs.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Devon Dale going on season-ending IR. Zemir White, who you
- 21:30Speaker 2: just traded for, he gets waived. C.J. Donaldson, very good
- 21:32Speaker 2: college football player, he gets waived. And then... A little bit,
- 21:37Speaker 2: I guess, of maybe a surprise that you keep a
- 21:39Speaker 2: fourth tight end, although we probably shouldn't be because of
- 21:42Speaker 2: the way the NFL is going and you don't carry
- 21:44Speaker 2: a fullback. Juwan Johnson, Noah Fant, Oscar Delp, and Trayton Welch.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Those are the four tight ends that you're going to keep.
- 21:52Speaker 2: So Welch has been around the franchise for a while,
- 21:54Speaker 2: but he does make the initial 53. He sounds like
- 21:57Speaker 2: a war daddy. He is. Got to be. He's a mauler.
- 22:01Speaker 2: He's got kickoff, kickoff return, punt, punt return. Oh, yeah.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Hands team.
- 22:05Speaker 5: He's on everything. He's on all of them.
- 22:06Speaker 2: He's in on every single one. When they say special
- 22:08Speaker 2: teams meeting, he doesn't wait to hear which unit it is. Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 2: he's very special. He stays.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Everybody else rotates. He's got a seat on the front row.
- 22:17Speaker 2: No doubt. Oh, for sure. No doubt. And we love
- 22:19Speaker 2: those guys. Receiver, Chris Alave, Devon Vele, Bryce Lance, Barryon Brown,
- 22:25Speaker 2: and Kevin Austin Jr. Jordan Tyson going to be on
- 22:28Speaker 2: the short-term IR with, obviously, the option to come back.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Mason Tipton's on the PUP. He hadn't really done anything.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Bub Means gets waived.
- 22:41Speaker 5: Bub Means and Trey Palmer.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Trey Palmer, you knew they liked him because even when
- 22:48Speaker 2: Kellen Moore came on this show last year, they just,
- 22:50Speaker 2: I think, made the claim for him, and they liked him,
- 22:52Speaker 2: and they were hoping he could get there. But Palmer
- 22:55Speaker 2: and Means are the cuts, and Kevin Austin Jr. is
- 22:58Speaker 2: the guy that makes it of that last receiver. Probably
- 23:02Speaker 2: more of a special team situation. Now, for Trey Palmer...
- 23:05Speaker 2: Barry on Brown being there probably knocks him out of it,
- 23:09Speaker 2: not just receiver, but the return game as well, because
- 23:12Speaker 2: obviously Barry on Brown can handle that. But a little
- 23:15Speaker 2: bit of a surprise there because means had a really
- 23:17Speaker 2: good preseason. We know how much they like Trey Palmer.
- 23:20Speaker 2: They've talked about him a bunch, even when he was injured.
- 23:22Speaker 2: But it ends up being Austin who makes the roster.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I was looking at it and I thought
- 23:29Speaker 4: the numbers are kind of a little bit low. On
- 23:32Speaker 4: the wide receivers. I mean, you're keeping five on the
- 23:35Speaker 4: initial 53. This is not a lot of receivers.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 5: I mean, at least.
- 23:39Speaker 2: And this is not rhetorical, but throwing it to you
- 23:41Speaker 2: for this reason, is that because Barryon Brown's going to
- 23:46Speaker 2: be counted to be a receiver and a return man,
- 23:48Speaker 2: and you're trying to cheat the system a little bit?
- 23:50Speaker 2: There's always one position where you're like, hey, we'll skim
- 23:53Speaker 2: from here so we can add here. And does it
- 23:55Speaker 2: feel like maybe that would be the situation?
- 23:57Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know.
- 23:58Speaker 2: It's still five receivers, however you look at it. Right,
- 24:02Speaker 2: but a lot of times that sixth guy that you
- 24:04Speaker 2: keep is a returner, special teams guy, and he's not
- 24:06Speaker 2: going to play receiver.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I'm also looking.
- 24:10Speaker 4: I feel like eight offensive linemen is like one low
- 24:15Speaker 4: as well. Kind of like nine to be on that
- 24:18Speaker 4: initial 53.
- 24:20Speaker 2: So you like to have your five starters. Now, I've
- 24:23Speaker 2: always been around five starters, a swing interior, a swing tackle,
- 24:27Speaker 2: and a center.
- 24:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 5: That's typically– That's usually the people that are active for
- 24:33Speaker 5: a game.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Right, true.
- 24:35Speaker 5: But on a 53, you usually have nine.
- 24:37Speaker 2: All these fellows are going to be active.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Yeah, they're all going to be active, right? So there's– yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 4: five seem low on the receivers, but you keep four
- 24:45Speaker 4: tied in. So, I mean, it kind of goes– it
- 24:48Speaker 4: kind of shows you what they want to be a
- 24:50Speaker 4: little bit. I think everybody– you're going to see– NFL's
- 24:54Speaker 4: a copycat.
- 24:55Speaker 5: League, right?
- 24:55Speaker 4: That's what it is, because there will be people that
- 24:58Speaker 4: do something that are successful, like coordinators that will play design,
- 25:03Speaker 4: and it's successful. And then other play callers, other offensive
- 25:07Speaker 4: coordinators around the league see that, and they try to
- 25:09Speaker 4: mimic that.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Recreate that.
- 25:10Speaker 4: So the Rams, of course, last year, very successful with
- 25:13Speaker 4: multiple tight ends. So I think you're going to start
- 25:17Speaker 4: seeing other offenses do that. Obviously, if you're keeping four
- 25:21Speaker 4: tight ends, which is, Which is a little abnormal, right?
- 25:27Speaker 4: It's usually two or three tight ends. I mean, probably
- 25:29Speaker 4: three is around the average. Four is a little much.
- 25:31Speaker 4: You can see kind of what they might be wanting
- 25:34Speaker 4: to do. You can kind of read between the lines
- 25:35Speaker 4: there and see what they might want to do offensively,
- 25:38Speaker 4: which is use a lot more tight ends. So I
- 25:40Speaker 4: don't know if they're going to use 13 personnel like
- 25:42Speaker 4: the Rams did as much. But certainly, this would suggest
- 25:47Speaker 4: that you're going to get a lot more, at least
- 25:48Speaker 4: 12 personnel.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Which, when you go and you look at who they
- 25:52Speaker 2: were a year ago, that was something that Kellen Moore
- 25:56Speaker 2: didn't really bring from when he was in Philly. Philly
- 26:00Speaker 2: did it way more than New Orleans when Kellen was
- 26:02Speaker 2: the OC there. They were 24th in 12 personnel a
- 26:06Speaker 2: year ago. They only ran at 16.84% of the time.
- 26:11Speaker 2: When you kind of.
- 26:13Speaker 5: In fairness, the tight ends had feet for hands for
- 26:15Speaker 5: the first half of the year.
- 26:16Speaker 2: They did. They did. They were terrible. Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 5: No argument from me.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Now, for whatever reason.
- 26:25Speaker 5: When Tyler Shuck started throwing that ball, they got good hands.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they did. Which is great. They elevated their play
- 26:31Speaker 2: around him for sure. Shuck's still there.
- 26:32Speaker 5: That's a good thing.
- 26:33Speaker 2: They did. Yeah, so the Saints were 24th. The Chargers
- 26:38Speaker 2: only used 12 personnel 5% of the time last year.
- 26:42Speaker 2: So that's going to change around the league. I don't
- 26:45Speaker 2: think anybody will be 5%. I think everybody will be
- 26:48Speaker 2: at least above 10% with the way the league's going
- 26:50Speaker 2: and everybody kind of always copycats everybody in the NFL.
- 26:53Speaker 2: All right, Ed Rusher. The group's pretty strong. It's Chase Young,
- 27:00Speaker 2: Carl Granderson, Cam Jordan, Tyree Wilson, and Anthony Jennings. Diggs
- 27:05Speaker 2: gets waived. He drafted. Obviously, he made some plays in
- 27:09Speaker 2: the preseason. When he got into actual game time, he
- 27:13Speaker 2: wasn't great. Graded out incredibly low. He did look better,
- 27:16Speaker 2: so he is certainly a practice squad guy if he
- 27:18Speaker 2: does end up being available. But that's a strong group.
- 27:23Speaker 2: It's a really strong group at edge rusher. You've got...
- 27:26Speaker 2: Chase Young, you've got Cam Jordan, who both had at
- 27:28Speaker 2: least 10 sacks last year. You've got Granderson, who's been
- 27:31Speaker 2: a solid player. We know the ceiling of him, but
- 27:34Speaker 2: also we know the floor. Tyree Wilson's a ceiling guy
- 27:38Speaker 2: because he was drafted in the top 10. You're trying
- 27:40Speaker 2: to have Chase Young 2.0. With Chase Young, you kind
- 27:44Speaker 2: of revived his career. And then Anthony Jennings is going
- 27:48Speaker 2: to be an edge guy who's going to be stout
- 27:50Speaker 2: in the run game, played a lot of plays, played
- 27:52Speaker 2: a long time in the NFL. That's a good group. Mm-hmm.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a strong group. I mean, your edge rushers
- 27:58Speaker 4: could be one of the big bright spots of the
- 28:01Speaker 4: team this year. Certainly look for a huge year from
- 28:04Speaker 4: Chase Young. All indication from camp, all the clips that
- 28:09Speaker 4: you've seen, looks like he was dominant. So I hope
- 28:12Speaker 4: that that plays out each and every week, and hopefully
- 28:14Speaker 4: he stays healthy and all that stuff. I'm looking at
- 28:16Speaker 4: the– on the defensive line, you've dedicated– What do we
- 28:20Speaker 4: have here?
- 28:21Speaker 2: Six.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Six?
- 28:22Speaker 4: So you've got 11 total defensive linemen. So interior and edge.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Playing an odd front, you know, you're going to have three.
- 28:29Speaker 2: So you've got two deep. It's not like if you
- 28:31Speaker 2: were playing just a 4-3 even front where you've got
- 28:34Speaker 2: two defensive tackles and you're like, wait a minute, you've
- 28:36Speaker 2: got three deep. You do play an odd front. So
- 28:38Speaker 2: those guys, obviously, you're going to have two. It's not
- 28:42Speaker 2: like a situation where you have three. So I know
- 28:45Speaker 2: that maybe when you first see it, it might be
- 28:47Speaker 2: like an initial shock. Yeah, right. It's an odd front.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Yeah, from everything we've talked about, all the worries about
- 28:54Speaker 4: the health of the defensive line and the interior, I
- 28:57Speaker 4: like the defensive. And I'm talking about edge as well,
- 29:00Speaker 4: defensive line and edge. It looks pretty strong right now.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. I think it's a unit
- 29:05Speaker 2: that certainly elevated its play last year. It elevated its
- 29:09Speaker 2: depth here this year in the offseason. And linebacker Kate Nellis,
- 29:13Speaker 2: Pete Warner, Danny Stutzman, Stahlberg, Rump, they're all going to
- 29:18Speaker 2: be right there in the middle of your defense. Jalen
- 29:20Speaker 2: Ford's going to be on IR, but with a designation
- 29:23Speaker 2: to be able to return. So that's a unit that
- 29:26Speaker 2: really wasn't that hard to figure out who was going
- 29:28Speaker 2: to be there, certainly when it comes to the top
- 29:30Speaker 2: three guys. The other two guys are going to be
- 29:32Speaker 2: core four war daddies. At corner, Edom gets waved. That's
- 29:38Speaker 2: a surprise. Jaden Price makes the football team. That's probably
- 29:42Speaker 2: one of the bigger surprises, although he was the darling
- 29:45Speaker 2: of camp. And everybody has one every single year. The
- 29:49Speaker 2: entire fan base roots for him. They find him early,
- 29:52Speaker 2: they find him often, and they root hard. And I
- 29:55Speaker 2: feel like Jaden Price was probably that guy, Tay-Tay.
- 29:58Speaker 5: Yeah, he was.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I mean.
- 30:00Speaker 8: Nick came on here two weeks ago and said Jaden
- 30:01Speaker 8: Price is making this team. Like, that's the guy. So
- 30:05Speaker 8: when somebody steps up, somebody's got to go. And, I mean, yeah,
- 30:09Speaker 8: it makes sense. Like, yeah, he's a fine veteran.
- 30:12Speaker 5: You know what he is.
- 30:13Speaker 8: Martin Emerson probably passed him up on the depth chart too. So,
- 30:16Speaker 8: I mean, are you really going to keep your fifth
- 30:18Speaker 8: guy when you've got an exciting young guy?
- 30:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 2: So congratulations to him. Probably never thought. Long shot type situation.
- 30:29Speaker 2: We see it every year. One of our favorite stories
- 30:31Speaker 2: whenever it happens in training camp. And we go to
- 30:33Speaker 2: the safety position. Justin Reed, Julian Blackman, Sinker, Howden, and
- 30:38Speaker 2: Lorenzo Stiles Jr. makes it as well. Lorenzo Stiles Jr.
- 30:42Speaker 2: certainly has a lot of versatility. Can play inside, can
- 30:45Speaker 2: play in the back half, can do a lot of
- 30:46Speaker 2: things for you. So no real surprise there.
- 30:49Speaker 5: There's only one safety on this list whose first name
- 30:51Speaker 5: doesn't start with a J.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Pretty impressive.
- 30:55Speaker 5: You got Justin, Julian, Jonas, Jordan.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Lorenzo.
- 31:00Speaker 6: All right.
- 31:00Speaker 5: That's a really good safety room.
- 31:02Speaker 8: Honestly, like you're, you're unproven guys with Lorenzo styles who
- 31:07Speaker 8: blew up the NFL combine.
- 31:08Speaker 5: Like everybody else in that room is awesome. Well, what
- 31:13Speaker 5: do you think you Taylor? You look at that list.
- 31:17Speaker 5: You like it. Any surprises to you?
- 31:20Speaker 8: Torselli Simpkins not making the team on the offensive line
- 31:23Speaker 8: was maybe my biggest surprise, only because he played in
- 31:26Speaker 8: 15 games a year ago and actually had to start
- 31:28Speaker 8: twice because of injury. So, like, they know what he is.
- 31:31Speaker 8: And there's a lot of unproven guys. Like, we talked
- 31:34Speaker 8: about Radins going down and all this veteran depth on
- 31:37Speaker 8: your O-line going down.
- 31:39Speaker 5: That was a guy that had played here in this offense.
- 31:41Speaker 5: I was a little surprised he didn't make it.
- 31:44Speaker 2: All right.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Well, I was a little surprised at the three quarterbacks.
- 31:48Speaker 4: but I guess I shouldn't be. I don't know if
- 31:50Speaker 4: anybody would have claimed anybody, but when you are a
- 31:56Speaker 4: little bit thin on some different places from a talent
- 31:59Speaker 4: perspective and have some injuries on the offensive line, yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 4: three quarterbacks was a little surprising to me, but that's
- 32:04Speaker 4: all right. Like Jake said, there was four teams that
- 32:06Speaker 4: took four quarterbacks, which is absolutely shocking to me. All right,
- 32:10Speaker 4: that's the Saints' final 53-man roster as they get ready
- 32:15Speaker 4: for week number one, I guess next week.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Doesn't matter.
- 32:21Speaker 4: LSU week one this week. We'll talk about it right here.
- 32:23Speaker 4: LSU versus Clemson. We come back right here.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Off the bench.

- 32:44Speaker 4: you just start the conversation? Chris Anderson and his team

- 32:57Speaker 4: pool that you visited that a friend has, or somewhere

- 34:54Speaker 4: All the things are over there.
- 34:56Speaker 5: GoTommies.com. GoTommies.com. All right, LSU, getting ready. It is time, people.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Time to introduce Clemson and Dabo, old dorky Dabo, to
- 35:08Speaker 4: the real Death Valley.
- 35:11Speaker 6: Dorky Dabo.
- 35:12Speaker 5: You like that?
- 35:13Speaker 2: Dorky Dabo.
- 35:14Speaker 6: That's what they call him.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Everybody's saying it.
- 35:18Speaker 4: It's going to be the last week probably before Dabo
- 35:20Speaker 4: hurts his, blows his knee out on that hill running down.
- 35:24Speaker 5: And to get ready for the game.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Down Victory Hill.
- 35:27Speaker 5: He could hurt his knee.
- 35:29Speaker 7: I feel like that's a little more steep than the
- 35:31Speaker 7: one that he's coming down.
- 35:32Speaker 5: I don't know. Do y'all think?
- 35:34Speaker 2: No.
- 35:34Speaker 5: I think that hill onto the stadium. I don't remember
- 35:38Speaker 5: how it looks.
- 35:39Speaker 6: It looks like a 45 degree area.
- 35:43Speaker 8: Judging by like how they walk, they kind of lean
- 35:45Speaker 8: back coming down. It's a pretty steep, right? But what's the.
- 35:50Speaker 5: Victory hill would be better. It'd be awesome because you're
- 35:53Speaker 5: on the road. It's on the pavement.
- 35:55Speaker 8: It would be more embarrassing for him because you're, because
- 35:58Speaker 8: everybody in the crowd is going to make fun of
- 35:59Speaker 8: you at that point.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 36:02Speaker 4: I'm trying to look at what the degree of hill
- 36:04Speaker 4: that is. What kind of slope degree are you looking at? Um, well,
- 36:09Speaker 4: LSU and Lane Kiffin, They get ready. They did a
- 36:14Speaker 4: mock game is what we're going to call it this
- 36:16Speaker 4: past weekend, Saturday in Tiger State.
- 36:18Speaker 5: And they did everything.
- 36:19Speaker 2: All of it.
- 36:20Speaker 5: They did all of it.
- 36:20Speaker 2: They stayed.
- 36:21Speaker 6: Even the walk down Victory Hill.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Yeah, they stayed at the team hotel the night before.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 36:26Speaker 4: They had like all the team meals. They walked through
- 36:30Speaker 4: every little thing that they're going to be doing. And
- 36:34Speaker 4: I've never heard, like, there's always mock games.
- 36:36Speaker 5: There's always, you go through the schedule, you talk about it.
- 36:40Speaker 4: This is as detailed as a mock game as I've
- 36:44Speaker 4: ever heard of. As far as, you know, everything from
- 36:49Speaker 4: eating the same things, staying in the hotel, doing, like,
- 36:52Speaker 4: the Victory Hill walk. Every little detail was how it's
- 36:58Speaker 4: going to be on Saturday.
- 36:59Speaker 5: What are you laughing at? Oh, gosh.
- 37:05Speaker 4: So this is about as detailed as I've seen. Like
- 37:07Speaker 4: normally you're going to talk about the hotel, like how
- 37:10Speaker 4: it's going to be, what we're going to do. You
- 37:11Speaker 4: go through every little thing that could happen in a game.
- 37:15Speaker 4: You go through special situations. You go through, certainly, you
- 37:18Speaker 4: go through like the pregame warmup. Because pregame warmup is
- 37:22Speaker 4: not something you just practice. That's not something that you
- 37:25Speaker 4: do every day in practice. It's a very specific, very
- 37:28Speaker 4: fast warmup. happens that you only do for games so
- 37:31Speaker 4: there's there's certainly things that you um it's a little
- 37:35Speaker 4: bit different than it normally is so we were talking
- 37:39Speaker 4: about this at break taylor you said you love the
- 37:42Speaker 4: attention to detail.
- 37:43Speaker 8: Yeah absolutely i do you want your team to be
- 37:45Speaker 8: as comfortable as possible in week one there's a lot
- 37:47Speaker 8: of new guys on this roster that have never experienced
- 37:50Speaker 8: anything like that not yet fans weren't in the stands
- 37:53Speaker 8: but i think it's awesome.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Fans showed up to victory hill yeah but that's the
- 37:57Speaker 4: thing right like you're walking into the stadium you're simulating
- 38:00Speaker 4: game day get them.
- 38:01Speaker 8: As comfortable as possible before game one like i love
- 38:04Speaker 8: the attention to detail i don't care what happened during
- 38:07Speaker 8: the scrimmage not important but that part the attention to
- 38:09Speaker 8: detail awesome.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Yeah i would say a scrimmage the week before your
- 38:13Speaker 4: first game probably not very important unless there's like a
- 38:17Speaker 4: bunch of missed assignments but like you're probably not looking
- 38:19Speaker 4: at seeing who the playmakers are in that one. The
- 38:22Speaker 4: hay is kind of already in the barn from that
- 38:24Speaker 4: aspect of trying to figure out who you're starting five
- 38:27Speaker 4: offensive linemen, who your top linebacker. That hay is already
- 38:30Speaker 4: in the barn. You've made those decisions. This whole thing
- 38:35Speaker 4: was about the schedule, the routine, so there are no
- 38:39Speaker 4: surprises to anybody. You have a group of kids that
- 38:41Speaker 4: are coming together from all over the country, a lot
- 38:44Speaker 4: of different colleges. They're all together for the first time. So, yeah,
- 38:48Speaker 4: I like this. I like this that they did it now.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Is it a, you know, is everything, they have to
- 38:55Speaker 4: do everything to get it comfortable? Probably not, but they
- 38:58Speaker 4: did it. And look, this is kind of the last
- 39:01Speaker 4: dress rehearsal. So, I know now they're starting the actual
- 39:06Speaker 4: week prep of a game. So, now they're going to,
- 39:09Speaker 4: for real, be doing all the scout teams. Every period
- 39:12Speaker 4: now is going to be a scout team period, except
- 39:15Speaker 4: for maybe like one At the end of practice, maybe
- 39:18Speaker 4: a good versus good two-minute drill or special situation period
- 39:23Speaker 4: that they'll go against each other just to get that
- 39:25Speaker 4: good on good, those reps in throughout the week.
- 39:28Speaker 5: But look, it's going to be a.
- 39:30Speaker 4: a scout team world from here on out. So it's
- 39:33Speaker 4: everything that the first offense does, it's going to be
- 39:35Speaker 4: against scout team. And this week, they'll probably have orange
- 39:37Speaker 4: jerseys on. The first defense is going to go against
- 39:41Speaker 4: orange jerseys on offense. You're going to have somebody that
- 39:43Speaker 4: is going to try to replicate the snap count or
- 39:46Speaker 4: whatever it is that Clemson does, replicate the gameplay.
- 39:49Speaker 5: And trust me, I know.
- 39:50Speaker 4: I've played a lot of years as a scout team quarterback,
- 39:52Speaker 4: so there's a lot of different snap counts I used
- 39:54Speaker 4: and a lot of different play styles I had to
- 39:55Speaker 4: try to emulate. So we're excited. We're excited that it's
- 39:59Speaker 4: finally here. Alondra, any special plans you got for the
- 40:08Speaker 4: week leading up to– like, do you have any, like,
- 40:10Speaker 4: superstition that you do during game week? Anything that you
- 40:14Speaker 4: have to make sure that you do? Like a certain
- 40:17Speaker 4: meal on a Friday? Certain drink you have to drink
- 40:20Speaker 4: on a Saturday morning?
- 40:22Speaker 6: No, I mean, not really.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Well, that's a problem. Maybe that's why.
- 40:28Speaker 6: I need to come up with one?
- 40:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 6: That's why we were so bad last year?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. That's on you.
- 40:33Speaker 6: All right. I'll try to think of something.
- 40:35Speaker 5: All right. Let's go to break. We're going to come back.
- 40:37Speaker 5: We're going to close out our number one right here
- 40:39Speaker 5: on Off the Bench.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Off the Bench.
- 40:42Speaker 5: All right. Well, what does Jake say? Plumbing is plumbing?
- 40:47Speaker 5: Not with Central Plumbing. Go to centralplumbing.org.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Centralplumbing.org. Your plumbing experts. And they've been doing it a
- 40:55Speaker 4: long time. They've been your local experts for a long
- 40:57Speaker 4: time here in the Baton Rouge area. But now it's
- 40:59Speaker 4: Baton Rouge and Lafayette area. So if you have a problem, yo,
- 41:02Speaker 4: they will solve it. Go to centralplumbing.org. We're talking commercial plumbing.
- 41:07Speaker 4: We're talking residential plumbing. They have done both for me
- 41:10Speaker 4: and they can do either for you. So they've Of course,
- 41:13Speaker 4: if you have something happening at your house, they can come.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Maybe you're building on. Maybe you're putting a little powder in.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Maybe you want a tankless water heater so you never
- 41:20Speaker 4: run out of hot water again. Well, they got you covered. Commercially,
- 41:24Speaker 4: we're talking gas lines. We're talking water lines. They turned
- 41:27Speaker 4: a warehouse that was four walls and a roof into
- 41:29Speaker 4: a full-blown food and beverage manufacturer facility with boiler.
- 41:33Speaker 5: We're talking water lines, gas lines, everything.
- 41:35Speaker 4: So if you have an issue, if you have a
- 41:38Speaker 4: plumbing need, make sure you're calling the experts over at centralplumbing.org.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 42:00Speaker 5: All right, welcome back here.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Closing out the hour, Off the Bench, Monday show brought
- 42:09Speaker 4: to you by Bayou Automotive. That is not Jacob Hester's voice.
- 42:13Speaker 4: You're here, and he is changing a tire right now.
- 42:16Speaker 4: We'll see, you know, how big his man card is
- 42:22Speaker 4: on how fast he can change his tire, right?
- 42:24Speaker 5: That's kind of like a... I'm just glad you said card. Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 6: I love the way you worded that.
- 42:28Speaker 8: How big his man... I was like, where are we
- 42:30Speaker 8: going here? What's the second half? And you said card.
- 42:32Speaker 8: I was like, I think I had... Let's think of
- 42:34Speaker 8: a better way to say that.
- 42:36Speaker 6: We'll see if we have to revoke his man card.
- 42:38Speaker 5: We'll see if we have to.
- 42:39Speaker 2: See?
- 42:39Speaker 5: Okay, you went that way with it. Smart. I like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Just less confusion. We don't have to revoke it.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Just like how fast can you change a tire is
- 42:47Speaker 4: kind of determining how big the credit line is.
- 42:49Speaker 6: Okay.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Okay, yes.
- 42:50Speaker 5: On the man card? I don't know.
- 42:53Speaker 2: We'll see. We'll see what happens.
- 42:57Speaker 4: Okay, we got a big story coming out of San Francisco.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Dejan Love.
- 43:04Speaker 5: Wide receiver.
- 43:06Speaker 3: 49ers.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Correct.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 43:08Speaker 6: So he just got arrested by the FBI. Who's that guy?
- 43:13Speaker 6: This weekend.
- 43:14Speaker 7: Also, I told you not to look him up because
- 43:17Speaker 7: you don't know this story yet. So Dajon Love got
- 43:21Speaker 7: arrested by the FBI this weekend, and he was arrested
- 43:25Speaker 7: for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. So
- 43:30Speaker 7: Dajon Love is not actually a wide receiver for the 49ers.
- 43:34Speaker 7: He was faking like he was on the internet for
- 43:36Speaker 7: a really long time, and he would start, like, dating
- 43:40Speaker 7: women that... by saying that he was a wide receiver
- 43:43Speaker 7: in the NFL. And it's really funny because there's videos
- 43:46Speaker 7: of him with, like, a 49ers helmet on working out
- 43:51Speaker 7: on the beach, and it looks awful.
- 43:53Speaker 6: Like, the man... I don't know.
- 43:55Speaker 2: I feel like.
- 43:57Speaker 6: Huh?
- 43:58Speaker 2: Was he fit?
- 43:58Speaker 6: He's fit, but he doesn't look athletic.
- 44:02Speaker 7: And so he has been scamming women, saying that he.
- 44:08Speaker 6: He basically... He.
- 44:09Speaker 7: Would be like, I want to build wealth with you
- 44:11Speaker 7: and I want to do this and this. And he
- 44:12Speaker 7: would say he has all these investments and the ladies
- 44:15Speaker 7: would like give him money to invest. He scammed these women,
- 44:19Speaker 7: 26 women out of one point three million dollars, I
- 44:23Speaker 7: think is what it was.
- 44:25Speaker 6: So that's what Dajon Love has been up to.
- 44:30Speaker 5: How do you fall for something like this?
- 44:32Speaker 6: That was my... I was like.
- 44:33Speaker 8: A quick Google search will tell you that he doesn't
- 44:36Speaker 8: play for the 49ers.
- 44:37Speaker 6: Literally.
- 44:37Speaker 8: You're not going to find any highlights, any college... How
- 44:40Speaker 8: do you fall for this?
- 44:41Speaker 7: I said those exact words on Coffee and Flannel yesterday.
- 44:43Speaker 8: And 26 people fell for it? I can understand if
- 44:46Speaker 8: there were two idiots out there.
- 44:48Speaker 6: 26?
- 44:49Speaker 4: First of all, if you're looking to invest $ 1. 3 million,
- 44:52Speaker 4: don't look for an active football player. That's a wide
- 44:55Speaker 4: receiver playing for the 49ers.
- 44:58Speaker 6: Right.
- 44:59Speaker 5: They're probably not who you want to invest your money with.
- 45:01Speaker 6: Injury prone.
- 45:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 6: Substation.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Cool, boy. Whoa.
- 45:06Speaker 5: 1.3 million. That's not an insignificant.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Amount of money.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Out of 26 women.
- 45:12Speaker 2: My God.
- 45:12Speaker 5: So 26 really dumb women.
- 45:13Speaker 6: Yeah, super stupid. Like incredibly stupid.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Just Googling.
- 45:18Speaker 6: I was like, I kind of feel bad that they lost.
- 45:20Speaker 7: Their move, but also don't because that's like a simple
- 45:23Speaker 7: Google search would tell you this man does not play
- 45:24Speaker 7: for the NFL.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Unless he was preying on the elderly.
- 45:28Speaker 6: Okay, yes, the elderly, but you're just preying on dumb women.
- 45:32Speaker 5: There's a picture of an alleged victim, and she looks
- 45:34Speaker 5: like she's young.
- 45:35Speaker 7: That's like survival of the fittest at that point.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Investment financial advisor, their active receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. Well,
- 45:43Speaker 4: there we go. Closing the hour now. Stick with us.
- 45:45Speaker 4: We'll talk more LSU Clemson when we come back right
- 45:47Speaker 4: here on Off the Bench.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 45:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 45:51Speaker 5: Well, go feel young again. Rejuvenate medical or do me medical.com. Um,
- 45:56Speaker 5: you hear us talk about it every single day because
- 45:59Speaker 5: you know, not only do we talk about it, but
- 46:00Speaker 5: we actually go there.
- 46:02Speaker 4: We go see them. We get our blood work drawn. We, uh,
- 46:05Speaker 4: we get feeling better right over there. Rejuvenate medical.com peptide
