- 0:06Speaker 1: It's often said that the people of Utah speak a
- 0:08Speaker 1: language all their own. It's a language that's often confusing
- 0:12Speaker 1: and even incomprehensible to newcomers here in the Beehive State.
- 0:16Speaker 1: So Radio from Hell presents a handy guide to help
- 0:20Speaker 1: everyone understand how the natives speak. It's the Utah word
- 0:24Speaker 1: of the day, and today's word.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Is smegs sme gs smegs. You'll also hear other Utah
- 0:32Speaker 2: words in the following exchange, principally smush, smu sh and
- 0:37Speaker 2: small lives, s m o L I V E S.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Excuse me, ma'am, Yes, that's smush smush?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Did I say smoosh?
- 0:45Speaker 3: You did?
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm sorry, sir, smush. Danny listen and is the Marimonia
- 0:52Speaker 2: Utah and his Sun Denver meet for breakfast?
- 0:56Speaker 4: Morning, Danny? What do we haven't for breakfast?
- 0:59Speaker 3: Well, your mother has very kindly made us a big
- 1:03Speaker 3: steam and bowl of this.
- 1:05Speaker 4: I don't like the looks of that, Daddy. What is
- 1:07Speaker 4: it that smush?
- 1:09Speaker 3: Denver? Come on, you had this before, smush cream of
- 1:14Speaker 3: the wheat. Oh, and I know what you mean. I
- 1:17Speaker 3: don't want this stuff neither, but it's better than what
- 1:20Speaker 3: your mother was gonna make us. What would that avocado toast?
- 1:25Speaker 3: I have a.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Cup, Lord, I don't even want to think what that is.
- 1:29Speaker 3: You're right, but just be aware. It's a piece of
- 1:33Speaker 3: toast with some avocados mushed up on it, and then
- 1:37Speaker 3: your mother puts small lives on top of that. I
- 1:40Speaker 3: talked her out of it, and she said, fine, I'll
- 1:43Speaker 3: make you smush. Then I didn't dare say nothing more
- 1:46Speaker 3: because you know how she can get Why.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Can't we have a regular he man breakfast like we usually.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Do, Denver, you need to pay a little bit of
- 1:54Speaker 3: attention to the world around you. We can't have the
- 1:57Speaker 3: breakfast we want because all the chick wickens are sick.
- 2:01Speaker 3: They got the flu.
- 2:02Speaker 4: So they have to stay home from work. All of
- 2:05Speaker 4: them sick, so they can't tend to lay in.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Well not all of them. But the gist is, with
- 2:10Speaker 3: a lot less chickens producing, the price of the product
- 2:13Speaker 3: they produces went way up and we can't afford them.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Well, what about another thought, Daddy, I mean, other animals
- 2:20Speaker 4: make the same breakfast food that chickens do. What about
- 2:23Speaker 4: turkeys or ducks, or sparrows or robins. They all produce
- 2:27Speaker 4: the same thing.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Chickens do, and they all got the flu. It's called
- 2:32Speaker 3: the bird flu in Denver, all of them are getting it.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Well, then, daddy, we need to look at another source
- 2:38Speaker 4: of the breakfast food that we love, the breakfast food
- 2:41Speaker 4: that we the men of Mony, Utah need.
- 2:44Speaker 3: What are you driving that boy?
- 2:45Speaker 4: Well, daddy, we just need to check to see who
- 2:48Speaker 4: has the flu? Is there turtle flu, lizard flu or
- 2:52Speaker 4: snake flu?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Well, no, not that I heard of.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Well there you go. We want snags for breakfast, a
- 2:58Speaker 4: man's breakfast. We get some bacon, but we need smegs
- 3:01Speaker 4: a new sauce. So why not turnlegs, lizard eggs, snake eggs?
- 3:05Speaker 4: How about hash brands toasted smegs from a snake.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Denver, We're gonna have smush cream a week. Eat it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Join us again some other time as we examine how
- 3:20Speaker 1: the Utah natives speak with the Utah Word of the
- 3:23Speaker 1: day
