- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome to another episode of the Hotel
- 0:16Speaker 1: Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is your
- 0:19Speaker 1: weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the cockrel energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I am definitely
- 0:34Speaker 1: having the winter uglies specifically this week, because the weather
- 0:40Speaker 1: has been so chaotic this week, Like I don't even
- 0:44Speaker 1: know how to explain it. The sun hasn't came out.
- 0:46Speaker 1: There's like a really weird fog going on outside, like
- 0:50Speaker 1: constantly from am to pm. It's just like this really
- 0:53Speaker 1: musty fog outside. It's not snowing, it's not raining. It's
- 0:58Speaker 1: kind of warm but not it's very gloomy, and you know,
- 1:02Speaker 1: like you just don't want to leave the house. And
- 1:04Speaker 1: I don't know, the weather just like plays a huge
- 1:06Speaker 1: impact on how you're feeling for the day. That's kind
- 1:08Speaker 1: of how the week has been so far. And I'm
- 1:12Speaker 1: starting to notice how pale I've gotten. And I don't know,
- 1:16Speaker 1: I've just been feeling the winter uglies lately, and I'm
- 1:19Speaker 1: like I could go somewhere down south. I would love
- 1:21Speaker 1: a tan. I would love just to be in the warmth.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm kind of already over the snow and we just
- 1:28Speaker 1: got it last week, so that's kind of what's happening
- 1:31Speaker 1: right now. But you know me, I'm always trying to
- 1:33Speaker 1: stay positive. I'm always trying to do things that make
- 1:35Speaker 1: me feel good. Like last week, I want to get
- 1:37Speaker 1: my hair done, which was a nice little pick me up.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I felt so good getting that done. I got a
- 1:41Speaker 1: hair gloss, I got a trim done, I got my
- 1:44Speaker 1: bangs touched up all that so it felt really really
- 1:48Speaker 1: good to get that done. I felt like that was
- 1:49Speaker 1: a good boost of my confidence. And I just also
- 1:52Speaker 1: booked a spray tan for next week since we're getting
- 1:55Speaker 1: close to Christmas.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I wanted it.
- 1:58Speaker 1: To just be closer to Christmas Day, so I booked
- 2:00Speaker 1: it for next week. And then I also booked a
- 2:02Speaker 1: nail appointment. So this is your sign that if you've
- 2:05Speaker 1: been feeling the winter uglies like me, treat yourself to
- 2:08Speaker 1: a few appointments, or do some things at home like
- 2:10Speaker 1: a self tan, or you know, painting your nails, hair gloss,
- 2:14Speaker 1: hair masks, put a face mask on, whatever the case
- 2:17Speaker 1: may be. Do little things that just make you feel good.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Another thing that's actually been really helping is I've been
- 2:22Speaker 1: taking ten minutes each morning to do my makeup every
- 2:26Speaker 1: single day, no matter what, Like if I'm not leaving
- 2:28Speaker 1: the house, I'm still gonna put makeup on and maybe
- 2:30Speaker 1: a cute like little sweat set or something, just to
- 2:33Speaker 1: feel more put together. And then I feel better going
- 2:36Speaker 1: into the day and I feel better about myself. I
- 2:39Speaker 1: don't know, I just feel like that really does help
- 2:41Speaker 1: whenever I am having.
- 2:43Speaker 2: The winter uglies.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So if there's any girlies out there that are feeling
- 2:47Speaker 1: the same way, those are things that I'm trying to
- 2:49Speaker 1: do to keep myself positive. Another thing actually that's been
- 2:53Speaker 1: really helping my skin. So for all the girls that
- 2:56Speaker 1: are dealing with really dry skin this winter seats, I
- 3:00Speaker 1: actually find the red therapy mask is worth the hype.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I honestly wasn't sure if it was worth it because
- 3:06Speaker 1: it's it's a splurge, not gonna lie, it's not something
- 3:09Speaker 1: that's cheap. My skin has just been super irritated this winter,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and I was getting really concerned because I'm like, I
- 3:13Speaker 1: don't know.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Why it's been so bad this year.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And I've been using the Red Therapy mask, I want
- 3:18Speaker 1: to say like every three days. I don't use it
- 3:21Speaker 1: every single day, but I usually like to put it
- 3:23Speaker 1: on in the mornings or at night when I don't
- 3:26Speaker 1: have any makeup on or skincare on, and I put
- 3:28Speaker 1: it on for like ten minutes, and I have really
- 3:30Speaker 1: noticed a huge difference in the redness of my face
- 3:33Speaker 1: just has gone down. So I'm like ninety percent sure
- 3:36Speaker 1: I was born with rosetia. I've always had just red
- 3:40Speaker 1: irritated skin. Whenever, you know, I use certain skin care products,
- 3:44Speaker 1: or when I get out of a hot shower or
- 3:47Speaker 1: a hot tub or anything like that, my face always
- 3:49Speaker 1: just gets like super red and irritated. And I feel
- 3:52Speaker 1: like since I've used the mask, it's been less irritated.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So and also for me, I feel like my skin
- 3:58Speaker 1: thrives with the sun. I don't know if anyone feels
- 4:00Speaker 1: that way, but I feel like whenever I have sun
- 4:02Speaker 1: on my face or just a tan, my skin is
- 4:04Speaker 1: always at its prime. So I feel like the red
- 4:07Speaker 1: therapy mask was kind of like my sunlight, and it
- 4:10Speaker 1: just kind of gives that overall feel.
- 4:14Speaker 2: On my face, if that makes sense.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And I think that's why it's kind of helping the
- 4:18Speaker 1: irritation on my face. So I don't know if that
- 4:21Speaker 1: makes any sense. Maybe it doesn't, but I feel like
- 4:24Speaker 1: it does. So I've been using that like every three days.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And also red light therapy can also help lift your mood,
- 4:30Speaker 1: so I find it just really increases my self esteem
- 4:34Speaker 1: and just overall mood throughout the day, so I always
- 4:36Speaker 1: love doing that as well. I find it's a great
- 4:38Speaker 1: way to start the morning, is just doing my red
- 4:40Speaker 1: therapy mask. So I also had a lot of questions
- 4:43Speaker 1: on my new face that I've been using quite often,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and I've been using it honestly since before the wedding
- 4:49Speaker 1: because I really wanted a tool that would just sculpt
- 4:52Speaker 1: my face out a bit. And obviously there is the
- 4:54Speaker 1: Guasha tool that I think a lot of influencers and
- 4:56Speaker 1: other people use, which is great, but I just never
- 5:00Speaker 1: really loved it for myself personally. And I actually got
- 5:03Speaker 1: sent that new face. I never purchased it, so I
- 5:05Speaker 1: was like, you know what, I'll try out. I'll see
- 5:06Speaker 1: if I like it, And in my honest opinion, it
- 5:09Speaker 1: is the best tool that I own. I use it
- 5:11Speaker 1: almost every single day. I find there's a huge difference
- 5:14Speaker 1: in my face when I do use it, and it's
- 5:16Speaker 1: just more defined in my jawline, my cheekbones all that.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So I do find it like tightens up my skin
- 5:21Speaker 1: and just also depoffs it as well. So that's my
- 5:25Speaker 1: honest opinion on it. I do think it's worth it.
- 5:27Speaker 1: My girlfriend actually bought the New Face and Red Light
- 5:30Speaker 1: Therapy mask because of me last week from their Black
- 5:33Speaker 1: Friday sales, so or two weeks ago whenever Black Friday was.
- 5:37Speaker 1: She bought it and she said she loves it, like
- 5:39Speaker 1: she's been using it for the past weekend of it,
- 5:41Speaker 1: and she's like, oh my god, I'm so happy I
- 5:42Speaker 1: trusted you, like I've been loving the new face, and
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, amazing, happy that it was worth it
- 5:47Speaker 1: because I know it's not cheap. But yeah, that's just
- 5:50Speaker 1: been something I've been including into my routine as well.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But yeah, so anyways, let's get into today's episode. I
- 5:57Speaker 1: am very excited about today's episode because we're talking about
- 6:00Speaker 1: the new year, how we're prepping for twenty twenty five.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I cannot believe we are literally weeks away from entering
- 6:09Speaker 1: a new year, and these episodes are always my favorite.
- 6:11Speaker 1: You guys know, that I find it so motivating. I
- 6:14Speaker 1: love having a fresh start. I love resetting my home,
- 6:17Speaker 1: resetting myself, finding ways to just achieve goals to the
- 6:21Speaker 1: new year all that. So in today's episode, we're going
- 6:24Speaker 1: to make this a two part series. We're really going
- 6:25Speaker 1: to focus on how to set our goals for twenty
- 6:28Speaker 1: twenty five, creating vision boards, things that we need to
- 6:32Speaker 1: do before entering twenty twenty five, and then the next
- 6:35Speaker 1: episode will be more about how we're going to achieve
- 6:37Speaker 1: those goals and what we're actually going to do and
- 6:40Speaker 1: implement into our routine or our lives to be able
- 6:43Speaker 1: to achieve those things on your vision board. So we're
- 6:47Speaker 1: going to get into today's episode, So let's get into it.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I think most of you by now probably know what
- 6:52Speaker 1: a vision board is. I feel like everyone talks about
- 6:54Speaker 1: it on social media. But I do also think we've
- 6:57Speaker 1: talked about it a lot here on the podcast, because
- 6:59Speaker 1: you guys know me, I love vision boards. I truly
- 7:03Speaker 1: believe that they do work. And I think this year
- 7:06Speaker 1: I might actually get Zack on board with it because
- 7:08Speaker 1: he saw how much I achieved and he was like, WHOA,
- 7:11Speaker 1: that's actually crazy, and I'm like, yeah, you should create one,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and I feel like guys just don't get it, but
- 7:15Speaker 1: I feel like I can convince Zach to make one
- 7:17Speaker 1: this year. So before we even make a vision board
- 7:20Speaker 1: for twenty twenty five, we need to review our existing one, because,
- 7:24Speaker 1: let's face it, I think the best feeling in the
- 7:26Speaker 1: world is to see everything that you achieved for yourself.
- 7:29Speaker 1: It's just such a reward to see all the wins
- 7:32Speaker 1: that you achieved from twenty twenty four. So really evaluate
- 7:35Speaker 1: and review everything that you see on your vision board.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Get a piece of paper out, write down all the
- 7:40Speaker 1: wins and all the goals that you actually achieved for
- 7:43Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. Also write down why you think you
- 7:46Speaker 1: actually achieved that goal, like how did that actually physically happen?
- 7:49Speaker 1: How did that goal actually come true. We're also going
- 7:51Speaker 1: to write down the things that we didn't achieve, because
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think it's important to talk about the things that
- 7:55Speaker 1: we didn't because you can kind of learn from those mistakes.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Almost it's like, Okay, why didn't I achieve that goal
- 8:01Speaker 1: for myself?
- 8:01Speaker 2: What did I do wrong? And how can I.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Achieve these goals for twenty twenty five. So it's a
- 8:06Speaker 1: really good idea just to evaluate your entire vision board
- 8:09Speaker 1: because it allows you to a feel rewarded, see the
- 8:12Speaker 1: wins that you did and if it's like, you know,
- 8:14Speaker 1: a fifty to fifty split or sixty forty split of
- 8:17Speaker 1: things that you achieved or things that you didn't, it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: still really important to have those small wins and just
- 8:22Speaker 1: see how proud you should be of yourself for actually
- 8:26Speaker 1: achieving and manifesting those things for yourself. But then seeing
- 8:29Speaker 1: the goals that you didn't achieve, it just pushes you
- 8:31Speaker 1: and motivates you more for wanting to achieve that goal
- 8:34Speaker 1: for twenty twenty five. So I'm going to talk about
- 8:36Speaker 1: some things from my vision board personally of things that
- 8:39Speaker 1: I did achieve or things that I didn't achieve. One
- 8:42Speaker 1: thing that I achieved was the exact vision that I
- 8:45Speaker 1: wanted for my wedding, including the wedding venue, the white party,
- 8:49Speaker 1: the beach club that I went to for my bacheorette
- 8:52Speaker 1: that I did not think I was going to go there,
- 8:54Speaker 1: but we did. So having that beach club on my
- 8:56Speaker 1: vision board was just something that I added.
- 8:59Speaker 2: For the esthetics. I think I was actually going to
- 9:00Speaker 2: physically be there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I just knew our wedding was going to be in
- 9:03Speaker 1: the Al Mafi coast area, but that is Capri and
- 9:07Speaker 1: that is where I went. So seeing these images here
- 9:11Speaker 1: it fully describes my wedding to a tea. And I
- 9:13Speaker 1: think I'll do like an Instagram reel or TikTok just
- 9:15Speaker 1: so you guys can see the images that I picked
- 9:17Speaker 1: from Pinterest and how it reflected my own vision, because
- 9:21Speaker 1: it's quite literally insane how perfectly matched it is. So
- 9:25Speaker 1: that's something that I really wanted to achieve. Was just
- 9:27Speaker 1: my overall wedding goals of how I wanted my wedding
- 9:30Speaker 1: to look like all that, and I definitely feel like
- 9:32Speaker 1: it was matched to a tee. One of my business
- 9:34Speaker 1: goals that I unfortunately did not achieve this year was
- 9:37Speaker 1: starting my business, and I think obviously with the wedding,
- 9:40Speaker 1: that was a lot to manage and take care of
- 9:43Speaker 1: for the entire year. And I think right after the wedding,
- 9:46Speaker 1: work just got extremely busy. Right. I didn't work for
- 9:49Speaker 1: the entire month of August, so in September and October
- 9:52Speaker 1: I had a whole bunch of work that I had
- 9:54Speaker 1: to complete, So again I kind of had to put
- 9:56Speaker 1: the business to the side. Now going into December, I
- 9:59Speaker 1: have started some things a bit on my brand, but
- 10:02Speaker 1: nothing that I wanted to achieve unfortunately for twenty twenty four.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So I think for me, that's a goal that I'm
- 10:08Speaker 1: going to be taking into twenty twenty five and just
- 10:10Speaker 1: see where did I go wrong. I think the one
- 10:12Speaker 1: thing was I didn't set up enough time to make
- 10:15Speaker 1: my business a priority. So maybe, you know, looking throughout
- 10:18Speaker 1: the week, I need to be better at organizing and
- 10:20Speaker 1: scheduling my time on the podcast and YouTube and you know,
- 10:24Speaker 1: tiktoks and Instagram reels, like I need to find a
- 10:26Speaker 1: day that I need to dedicate a week, So maybe
- 10:29Speaker 1: on Fridays it's strictly dedicated to my brand, because if
- 10:33Speaker 1: I don't have dedicated days, I'm not going to get
- 10:37Speaker 1: it done. In my opinion, I think I just need
- 10:38Speaker 1: to hold myself more accountable for getting that done because
- 10:41Speaker 1: I feel like if I don't dedicate a day, it's
- 10:43Speaker 1: not going to even happen. So that's kind of how
- 10:44Speaker 1: I would see a goal that you didn't achieve is
- 10:46Speaker 1: just kind of okay, this is what didn't happen. How
- 10:49Speaker 1: are we going to make this happen? For twenty twenty five.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So that right there is an example of how I'm
- 10:53Speaker 1: going to take my brand into twenty twenty five. I'm
- 10:56Speaker 1: going to you know, find a dedicated day within the
- 10:58Speaker 1: new year toocus on it, work on it so we
- 11:01Speaker 1: can you know, get the ball rolling on that. So
- 11:04Speaker 1: that's an example of that. Another goal I achieved was
- 11:07Speaker 1: entering my pilates era. That was a huge one for me,
- 11:10Speaker 1: and I was not expecting this exact studio that I
- 11:14Speaker 1: have here on my vision board to match the studio
- 11:17Speaker 1: that I go to religiously I will show that image.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I just find it so crazy to me because I
- 11:21Speaker 1: remember making this vision board and when I put that
- 11:23Speaker 1: image on my board, it was strictly just to be
- 11:26Speaker 1: in a consistent routine of working out. It wasn't about
- 11:29Speaker 1: like becoming a Reformers Pilate princess. But now I am
- 11:32Speaker 1: fully a Reformers plate princess. And I'm so happy that
- 11:36Speaker 1: I added that on my board and so happy that
- 11:38Speaker 1: a studio opened up by my place because I felt
- 11:40Speaker 1: like that was so meant to be. So that was
- 11:42Speaker 1: the most unexpected health goal that was achieved that I
- 11:45Speaker 1: was super stoked about. Another thing I have here, which
- 11:47Speaker 1: I think is a pretty common thing that people probably
- 11:49Speaker 1: put on their vision board is being you know, successful
- 11:53Speaker 1: or financially stable, or having an increase of income for
- 11:57Speaker 1: the year, And this year I definitely did make more
- 11:59Speaker 1: than last year, so that was something I was super
- 12:00Speaker 1: proud of. Is just working my butt off and really
- 12:04Speaker 1: seeing the success of my platform and my career really grow.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So that was something I was super proud of this
- 12:10Speaker 1: year as well. So again that's just like a little
- 12:12Speaker 1: rough draft of ideas, and it gives you some inspo
- 12:16Speaker 1: in terms of like how to really evaluate and review
- 12:19Speaker 1: your existing vision board and how your twenty twenty four
- 12:23Speaker 1: goals were achieved or were not achieved, And that's how
- 12:26Speaker 1: you can assess and evaluate how you're going to take
- 12:29Speaker 1: those goals you didn't achieve going into twenty twenty five.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So once you've reviewed your goals from twenty twenty four,
- 12:35Speaker 1: we're then going to start goal setting for twenty twenty five.
- 12:38Speaker 2: So we've talked about.
- 12:39Speaker 1: This in previous episodes, but the best way to set
- 12:43Speaker 1: up your goals for the new year is put them
- 12:45Speaker 1: in different categories. So I love to do three different categories,
- 12:48Speaker 1: which is personal goals, business goals, and health goals. I
- 12:51Speaker 1: know everyone kind of does it differently, and there could
- 12:54Speaker 1: be travel goals, there could be other goals that you
- 12:57Speaker 1: want to categorize them yourself, and that's totally fine, and
- 13:00Speaker 1: this is just what I do personally, and so I
- 13:02Speaker 1: get a piece of paper out I write everything down physically,
- 13:05Speaker 1: just because I'm that kind of person I would rather
- 13:07Speaker 1: write something down versus write it in my phone because
- 13:09Speaker 1: I won't remember that way. I find if I write
- 13:11Speaker 1: it down physically, I remember things better. So I put
- 13:14Speaker 1: stuff down for my personal goals and usually do about
- 13:16Speaker 1: five personal goals, five business goals, and then five health goals.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And then once I've created those goals for myself, I
- 13:23Speaker 1: then go on Pinterest and I find images that best
- 13:26Speaker 1: describe those goals that I want to put on my
- 13:28Speaker 1: vision board. Now. Step three is creating a vision board,
- 13:32Speaker 1: which I think, again, we all know what that is
- 13:35Speaker 1: by this point, but there's different types of vision boards
- 13:38Speaker 1: that you can create. So you can ether be that
- 13:40Speaker 1: kind of girl that likes to create a vision board physically,
- 13:43Speaker 1: or you can ether be that kind of girl that
- 13:44Speaker 1: likes to create your vision board on your computer. I
- 13:48Speaker 1: personally like to do mine on my computer for one
- 13:50Speaker 1: main reason, and that is I like to have it
- 13:52Speaker 1: as my laptop screen saver or my iPhone screensaver because
- 13:57Speaker 1: I feel like I'm always on my computer, I'm always
- 13:59Speaker 1: on my phone, constantly looking at these images, which constantly
- 14:02Speaker 1: reminds me of things that I wanted.
- 14:05Speaker 2: To achieve for the year.
- 14:06Speaker 1: So totally up to you in terms of what you
- 14:08Speaker 1: would prefer. I know some people like to do the physical.
- 14:11Speaker 1: It is fun to like cut things out, paste it
- 14:13Speaker 1: on the board all that. It's like a fun little
- 14:15Speaker 1: craft to do, but it would just sit up in
- 14:17Speaker 1: my room and I would never look at it, Like
- 14:19Speaker 1: I don't think it's very helpful for me personally, So
- 14:23Speaker 1: pick whatever works best for you, because I know some
- 14:25Speaker 1: people find it's really motivating to have it in their
- 14:27Speaker 1: office or in their bedroom because they constantly see it
- 14:30Speaker 1: in that room. They constantly kind of review it all that,
- 14:33Speaker 1: So pick whatever version you want. But I personally think
- 14:36Speaker 1: doing it online is the best way to do it because,
- 14:39Speaker 1: as I said, you can have it as your wallpaper
- 14:41Speaker 1: on your laptop or on your phone, but you're gonna
- 14:44Speaker 1: find images on Pinterest that best describe the goals that
- 14:47Speaker 1: you wrote down and It doesn't just have to be pictures.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It could be quotes, it could be sayings. You just
- 14:52Speaker 1: had to find a way to incorporate them onto your
- 14:54Speaker 1: vision board. So to make a vision board online, I
- 14:57Speaker 1: personally recommend using an app called Camba or not an app,
- 15:01Speaker 1: but well it is an app, but you can use
- 15:03Speaker 1: it online as well. It's a free platform. I've been
- 15:06Speaker 1: using it for years. I use it for like my
- 15:08Speaker 1: YouTube thumbnails. Basically anything you see in my stories that
- 15:11Speaker 1: have to do with graphics is usually done within Canba.
- 15:14Speaker 1: So I use Canba. I take a bunch of images
- 15:17Speaker 1: from Pinterest that I find, I PLoP it in a
- 15:19Speaker 1: wallpaper format for my desktop. I don't know the exact
- 15:24Speaker 1: dimensions of what a laptop desktop is, but I do
- 15:27Speaker 1: think they have. You can search on Canba like Mac desktop,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and it will show you the exact dimensions of what
- 15:35Speaker 1: blank piece of paper you would need to design.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Your vision board.
- 15:39Speaker 1: And I think one thing that's really fun for vision
- 15:42Speaker 1: boards is you can make a whole night out of it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: So have your girlfriends over, make some apps, have some cocktails,
- 15:48Speaker 1: have a fun little night. I'm actually doing this with
- 15:50Speaker 1: my sister tomorrow nights, so she's coming over and we're
- 15:53Speaker 1: gonna have a little vision board night. Her and I
- 15:55Speaker 1: have some cocktails, light some candles, start figuring out our goals,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know, going on Pinterest, pulling images all that. So
- 16:03Speaker 1: it's best to start now because going into the new year,
- 16:07Speaker 1: you want to have that done. That way you know
- 16:08Speaker 1: exactly what you have planned for twenty twenty five. I
- 16:12Speaker 1: know some people start it in the beginning of the year,
- 16:13Speaker 1: which is so fine, but we're getting a head start
- 16:16Speaker 1: and we're doing it asap because me and my sister
- 16:17Speaker 1: are just so excited to start planning our new year.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So that's step number three. You're gonna make your vision board.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You're gonna go on Pinterest, You're gonna find aesthetic images,
- 16:26Speaker 1: figure out how your year is going to all plan out.
- 16:29Speaker 1: If you're the kind of person that wants to travel
- 16:30Speaker 1: a lot, then find a bunch of places that you
- 16:32Speaker 1: want to travel to. If you're someone that's getting married,
- 16:35Speaker 1: what's your exact vision for your wedding? Where do you
- 16:37Speaker 1: want your wedding to be? Find images for that. If
- 16:40Speaker 1: you're someone like me that's starting their brand, Okay, what
- 16:42Speaker 1: do you want to see for your brand? Is there
- 16:44Speaker 1: certain aesthetics that you want to reach. Is there certain
- 16:46Speaker 1: products that you want to create. Really, just take a
- 16:48Speaker 1: deep dive into Pinterest and find the perfect images that
- 16:51Speaker 1: describe your goals for the new year. Guys, I'm so excited.
- 16:55Speaker 1: This stuff is always so fun to me. So once
- 16:57Speaker 1: you have your vision board, you set your goals, you
- 17:00Speaker 1: reviewed your goals from the previous year, We're then going
- 17:02Speaker 1: to take action and we're going to refresh, organize, and
- 17:05Speaker 1: remove going into twenty twenty five. So what I mean
- 17:07Speaker 1: by that is we're going to be putting the vision
- 17:10Speaker 1: board to the side. So that's all done. We know
- 17:12Speaker 1: what we're going to achieve our twenty twenty five. We
- 17:14Speaker 1: don't know how we're going to do it yet, but
- 17:16Speaker 1: we will find a way to do it. That will
- 17:17Speaker 1: be in the next episode. We'll talk about how we're
- 17:19Speaker 1: going to actually conquer our vision board and actually achieve
- 17:22Speaker 1: those things for yourself. But we need to like do
- 17:25Speaker 1: a little refresh in our home or in our room,
- 17:27Speaker 1: because I personally find going into the new year, I
- 17:31Speaker 1: want a clean slate, Like I want my entire home
- 17:33Speaker 1: to feel like brand new. I don't want anything in
- 17:36Speaker 1: my house. I want my closet to be everything that
- 17:38Speaker 1: I'm going to wear for the new year. Like I
- 17:41Speaker 1: obviously get a lot of pr and I get a
- 17:43Speaker 1: lot of clothes, and there's a lot of things just
- 17:46Speaker 1: building up in my closet. Like my drawers do not
- 17:49Speaker 1: close right now. It's really bad. I can be fully
- 17:52Speaker 1: honest about that, they're not closing. And I said to Zach,
- 17:55Speaker 1: I'm like, I cannot wait to take that entire week
- 17:58Speaker 1: off in December and completely like purge my closet. I'm
- 18:02Speaker 1: going to purge the entire thing. What do I want
- 18:05Speaker 1: my wardrobe to look like for twenty twenty five is
- 18:07Speaker 1: essentially is what's going to be going through my head.
- 18:09Speaker 1: So I feel like everyone could probably do the same
- 18:11Speaker 1: is donate some things, get rid of things, sell some things,
- 18:14Speaker 1: whatever you want to do. But I think it's so
- 18:16Speaker 1: important to figure out how do you want to dress
- 18:19Speaker 1: for the new year. Is there a new style that
- 18:21Speaker 1: you want to go towards. Are there things that you
- 18:23Speaker 1: need to replan or you know, stock up on. So
- 18:26Speaker 1: for me personally, just something I can think of. I
- 18:28Speaker 1: have not purchased a new pair of denim jeans in
- 18:32Speaker 1: I want to say, three years, three years I have
- 18:34Speaker 1: not boughten a new pair of jeens, which is crazy
- 18:37Speaker 1: to me. Well it's not crazy of me, but I
- 18:39Speaker 1: feel like Denham is something that you can splurge on
- 18:41Speaker 1: and have for a few years. But I have not
- 18:44Speaker 1: purchased a pair of jeans in three years. So that's
- 18:46Speaker 1: something that I know for sure in the new year
- 18:48Speaker 1: that I need to stock up on. But jeans are
- 18:50Speaker 1: always changing in style, right, Like We've gone from skinny
- 18:53Speaker 1: jeans to baggy jeans, to low rise jeans to high
- 18:55Speaker 1: rise jeans. Like there's so many different types of denim
- 18:58Speaker 1: jeans out there, and so so I want to figure out, Okay,
- 19:01Speaker 1: what kind of style am I Do I prefer the
- 19:03Speaker 1: high rise?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Do I prefer the mid rise? Do I prefer the
- 19:05Speaker 2: low rise? So that's kind of like my goal is.
- 19:07Speaker 1: To find a good pair of denim that I'm going
- 19:10Speaker 1: to wear for twenty twenty five and just like making
- 19:13Speaker 1: sure I keep the staples. I'm not really into, you know,
- 19:18Speaker 1: overly graphic sweaters. I'm very like basic. I don't really
- 19:21Speaker 1: like to have anything on my clothes, just very simple.
- 19:24Speaker 1: So just kind of going through that donating things that
- 19:26Speaker 1: I don't want to wear again. Get rid of anything
- 19:28Speaker 1: like that. So this is your sign going into the
- 19:30Speaker 1: new year that you need to declutter your wardrobe and
- 19:34Speaker 1: get rid of things. So this is your sign that
- 19:36Speaker 1: you need to declutter areas in your home before you
- 19:38Speaker 1: go into twenty twenty five. And I'm not talking just
- 19:41Speaker 1: the closet, Like we need to declutter under our sinks.
- 19:44Speaker 1: We need to declutter our pantry. Like there's so many
- 19:46Speaker 1: areas in my home that I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 19:48Speaker 1: I just need to go through everything. I just need
- 19:50Speaker 1: to purge so many different areas in the home, coke, closet, pantry.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I want to reorganize my entire pantry. I wish I
- 19:57Speaker 1: had a container store in Ottawa. I don't think we
- 20:00Speaker 1: have anything for containers specifically. I think I'm gonna have
- 20:03Speaker 1: to just order some off Amazon. But I just want
- 20:05Speaker 1: to like reorganize the entire pantry. I want to get
- 20:09Speaker 1: rid of like pots and pans that we don't use ever,
- 20:11Speaker 1: it's just stuck in my you know, drawer in my kitchen.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Another thing that I freaking hate is I'm sure everyone
- 20:17Speaker 1: can agree to this is like the topwork containers. Like
- 20:20Speaker 1: I have like thousands of topwork containers and I'm like,
- 20:23Speaker 1: I don't even think I have some that match all
- 20:26Speaker 1: the lids, Like I think that's a normal thing. But
- 20:28Speaker 1: I'm like, I just need to go through that and
- 20:30Speaker 1: I need to make sure all the lids match, Like
- 20:32Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about, Like I'm gonna be going
- 20:34Speaker 1: a psycho when it comes to that. I just want
- 20:37Speaker 1: everything to be organized, feel fresh, feel new. That way
- 20:42Speaker 1: going into the air, everything just feels, you know, new.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I don't know, I just think it's gonna feel so good.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Another thing is unfollowing people on social media. I feel
- 20:50Speaker 1: like there is a love hate opinion on this because
- 20:55Speaker 1: I feel like some people are like, why would you
- 20:56Speaker 1: go through the effort of doing that.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I personally feel like it's good to unfollow people that
- 21:02Speaker 1: are not providing you, like any positive impact in my opinion,
- 21:06Speaker 1: Like there's so many people, so many people that I
- 21:09Speaker 1: still follow from high school and some of the stories
- 21:12Speaker 1: that I see. I don't know. I'm just like it
- 21:16Speaker 1: sounds bad to say, like I'm not that kind of
- 21:17Speaker 1: person where I'm like, I am gonna go unfollow this
- 21:19Speaker 1: person for no freaking reason, Like that's not me at all.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I just mean, if there's someone posting things that you
- 21:24Speaker 1: just don't support, or it just feels like uncomfortable for
- 21:27Speaker 1: you to continue following that person, or it's just like
- 21:30Speaker 1: very negative content, or it just doesn't give you any purpose.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I don't see an issue with unfollowing the person. I
- 21:36Speaker 1: don't know, like I think we need to normalize that
- 21:39Speaker 1: because in my opinion, like I would rather just you know,
- 21:42Speaker 1: follow people that provide me positive vibes and just people
- 21:47Speaker 1: that I actually enjoy watching. So I don't know, like
- 21:51Speaker 1: I've never really unfollowed like other influencers. To be honest,
- 21:53Speaker 1: I only follow influencers who I feel like have the
- 21:55Speaker 1: similar vibe as me, or I like their niche or
- 21:58Speaker 1: anything like that. But it's more so like people from
- 22:01Speaker 1: like high school or just people that like I don't
- 22:04Speaker 1: have any communication with or anything like that, or like
- 22:06Speaker 1: you know, they're posting pictures of their kid and it's like,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I literally have met you once from high school. I
- 22:12Speaker 1: don't know anything about your family, Like I don't know.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I just like don't see the point of that. So
- 22:16Speaker 1: that's just my opinion. Again, I am not a hater.
- 22:19Speaker 1: It's more so just like I don't I don't like
- 22:21Speaker 1: to follow people that don't provide any positive impact in
- 22:24Speaker 1: my life. Like, I just feel like that's a very
- 22:25Speaker 1: obvious thing for a lot of people. Another thing is
- 22:28Speaker 1: rearranging spaces in your home, so redoing the area, like
- 22:32Speaker 1: with your current furniture or maybe getting new pieces if
- 22:35Speaker 1: you want to make this space feel brand new. So
- 22:38Speaker 1: if you're someone that just has a bedroom in your
- 22:40Speaker 1: parents' home and you're wanting it to feel new or
- 22:43Speaker 1: just you want to feel reinspired again, this is actually
- 22:45Speaker 1: something that my sister's doing as well. She's lived at
- 22:47Speaker 1: my parents' place for I don't know, let's say fifteen years,
- 22:50Speaker 1: because my parents have had that house for fifteen years,
- 22:53Speaker 1: and she's just been hating her space, Like she's I
- 22:56Speaker 1: feel so uninspired. I've been, you know, living in the
- 22:59Speaker 1: same bedroom for you know, the past fifteen years. I
- 23:02Speaker 1: just I don't know what to do with it. Do
- 23:03Speaker 1: I redesign it?
- 23:04Speaker 2: All that?
- 23:05Speaker 1: And obviously financially, like that's a lot of money to
- 23:07Speaker 1: just buy a whole new bedroom set all that. So
- 23:10Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, why don't you change to
- 23:12Speaker 1: my bedroom? So she's switching bedrooms with me again. If
- 23:15Speaker 1: you don't have that option.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I think, just like.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Rearranging furniture could work too. But she's changing bedrooms completely
- 23:20Speaker 1: and she's painting it white. She's gonna you know, change
- 23:23Speaker 1: her bedding up all that. So it's just like, you know,
- 23:26Speaker 1: doing all that is just going to make you feel
- 23:28Speaker 1: so much more reinspired and it's something new, feels good
- 23:33Speaker 1: and yeah, I don't know, I think it's something that
- 23:35Speaker 1: feels really good doing, especially going into the new year.
- 23:38Speaker 1: So for me personally, like, there's some fun projects that
- 23:41Speaker 1: we're doing with the home. There's some stuff that we're
- 23:43Speaker 1: doing to our living room. We're going to be setting
- 23:46Speaker 1: up a podcast studio. I don't know if I told
- 23:48Speaker 1: you guys that. I think I told you guys that
- 23:50Speaker 1: we're setting up a podcast studio upstairs so I can
- 23:52Speaker 1: start filming videos. I'm so excited to start doing podcast
- 23:57Speaker 1: videos in that room. So that's going to be something
- 23:59Speaker 1: that's set up up. What else are we doing, Oh,
- 24:02Speaker 1: we're gonna be redoing our bedroom, so I don't know,
- 24:05Speaker 1: just some fun things like that. So for an example,
- 24:07Speaker 1: for my bedroom, I'm not buying all new furniture. I'm
- 24:09Speaker 1: just rearranging the bedroom furniture. Like I want to put
- 24:11Speaker 1: my bed on the other side of the wall. I
- 24:14Speaker 1: want to maybe paint the walls, maybe change like some
- 24:17Speaker 1: light fixtures, like very minimal things. It's not like I'm
- 24:20Speaker 1: buying brand new things. But it just like gives you,
- 24:24Speaker 1: guys some inspiration on how to make your space feel
- 24:26Speaker 1: new again, or how to just remotivate you or reinspire you.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I do think the new feeling is something that's very
- 24:33Speaker 1: motivational in my opinion, Like even having my new car,
- 24:35Speaker 1: Like I feel like I'm always wanting to drive and
- 24:38Speaker 1: get out of the house and go places because it's new.
- 24:40Speaker 1: It's a new feeling, it's enjoyable. So I don't know,
- 24:43Speaker 1: I feel like that's something you guys can do if
- 24:45Speaker 1: you just want your space to feel new and refreshed.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Another thing you can do is create your own playlist,
- 24:49Speaker 1: so just like music that will help motivate you when
- 24:52Speaker 1: you're resetting your home or when you're waking up in
- 24:55Speaker 1: the morning. I feel like I'm always super tired when
- 24:57Speaker 1: I'm doing my early morning workouts, and I love like
- 25:01Speaker 1: fun music for my drive on the way to my
- 25:03Speaker 1: workout class just to wake me up. So having a
- 25:05Speaker 1: like go to playlist of music that will just motivate
- 25:08Speaker 1: you and get your butt up. I think is so crucial.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And as I said, like, playing music while you're resetting
- 25:13Speaker 1: your home always motivates me. So it's amazing how music
- 25:16Speaker 1: can play such a huge impact in your mood and
- 25:19Speaker 1: just your overall motivation. Or if you're the kind of
- 25:21Speaker 1: person that likes to listen to motivational podcasts while you're cleaning,
- 25:24Speaker 1: so find any other podcasts that can motivate you all that.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I think that's just super crucial. And the last thing
- 25:30Speaker 1: is refresh your workspace. So if you work from home
- 25:33Speaker 1: or if you have an office, like make sure everything
- 25:36Speaker 1: in that space is completely decluttered, organized all that, because
- 25:40Speaker 1: even going back to your office in the new year,
- 25:42Speaker 1: you want to make sure that that area feels like
- 25:45Speaker 1: you organized it and it feels good going into the
- 25:48Speaker 1: new year. For someone like me that works from home,
- 25:51Speaker 1: I'm going to be having an office set up in
- 25:53Speaker 1: the new year. So for me, that's something I'm very
- 25:55Speaker 1: excited about, something that's motivating me. So yeah, I think
- 25:58Speaker 1: that's super crucial. Not only should your home feel completely refresh,
- 26:02Speaker 1: but we need to make sure that our workspace feels
- 26:04Speaker 1: clean and organized going into the new year. The last
- 26:07Speaker 1: step is adding something new to twenty twenty five. So
- 26:11Speaker 1: one could be trying a new hobby. It could be
- 26:13Speaker 1: finding a new movement that you want to try out,
- 26:15Speaker 1: so maybe going to a new gym, or maybe if
- 26:17Speaker 1: you don't go to a gym, get a gym membership,
- 26:19Speaker 1: trying different kinds of workouts. I find trying something new
- 26:22Speaker 1: going into the new year is very motivating, it's very fun.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It's something new. Trying a new hobby is always fun.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Another thing is maybe starting a new book series if
- 26:31Speaker 1: you're into books again. Maybe it's finding a new podcast
- 26:34Speaker 1: listen to. Think it's important to add something new into
- 26:37Speaker 1: the new year, specifically the first month too, because again,
- 26:40Speaker 1: you're trying something new, it's something different, you're doing things
- 26:43Speaker 1: out of your comfort zone.
- 26:43Speaker 2: It's important to do that.
- 26:45Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's the five steps that I would
- 26:49Speaker 1: recommend going into twenty twenty five for the new year.
- 26:52Speaker 1: For next week's episode, we're really going to chat about
- 26:55Speaker 1: how we're going to achieve those goals for twenty twenty
- 26:57Speaker 1: five and how we're going to motivate ourselves to actually
- 27:00Speaker 1: complete all of our goals for twenty twenty five. So
- 27:03Speaker 1: thank you guys so much for listening today's episode. If
- 27:06Speaker 1: you're new, make sure to follow me Kaylie, your host,
- 27:08Speaker 1: on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You can also follow at
- 27:12Speaker 1: the Hawker Energy Podcast Instagram page. We will definitely be
- 27:15Speaker 1: having a complete refresh of that podcast Instagram page in
- 27:19Speaker 1: the new year. There's gonna be a lot of videos.
- 27:21Speaker 1: It's gonna be a lot more interactive going into the
- 27:23Speaker 1: new year. That's one of my goals for twenty twenty
- 27:26Speaker 1: five is to have more of an active podcast page
- 27:28Speaker 1: to keep you guys in the loop about episodes and
- 27:31Speaker 1: all that. So stay tuned for that. But I love
- 27:33Speaker 1: you guys all so much. Thank you guys for listening,
- 27:35Speaker 1: and I will see you guys in next week's episode.
