- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are last break of the day.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Before we get to your closing seed, we got to
- 0:06Speaker 1: congratulate our big station, one of seven five WBLS in
- 0:11Speaker 1: the New York tri state area. We got to say
- 0:14Speaker 1: congratulations to WBLS for being the number one most listened
- 0:19Speaker 1: to R and B station in New York, not just
- 0:22Speaker 1: New York, the nation and globally the world. Okay, they're
- 0:27Speaker 1: the number one R and B station in the world.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I love that, love you.
- 0:32Speaker 3: WBLS is the first station that came to me with
- 0:37Speaker 3: the concept of doing syndicated radio. The Sudden family approached
- 0:43Speaker 3: me about it. I had just left radio in Los
- 0:47Speaker 3: Angeles and I was told that you will never be
- 0:52Speaker 3: in radio again. You'll never be nothing, but God will
- 0:58Speaker 3: prepare us a table in the presence of dying. And
- 1:03Speaker 3: I watched him do it, and I thank God for
- 1:06Speaker 3: w b LS one on seven five heritage station. Some
- 1:11Speaker 3: great some great people have been up there, Von Harper,
- 1:17Speaker 3: Frankie Hi Crocker, Frankie Crocker.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Man, I'm talking about straight legends up there in New York.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah, just some great people, man. Yeah, and shut.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Us and Tripp, I'm talking about a legend in the
- 1:34Speaker 3: news game up there. One of the most pleasant people
- 1:37Speaker 3: I've ever been around in radio. They had a beautiful
- 1:40Speaker 3: staff up there when I was when we was working
- 1:42Speaker 3: up there everything, and so congratulations to w BLS man,
- 1:47Speaker 3: and thank y'all for believing the division. In two thousand
- 1:50Speaker 3: and five, I was told because we started with New York, Shreveport,
- 1:58Speaker 3: is it, Truck Detroit and Sean Tuscaloos. Wow, that was
- 2:06Speaker 3: the four that was And they told us, they said,
- 2:09Speaker 3: Steve Harvey, in three years, if you have twenty five cities,
- 2:12Speaker 3: we will consider this a success.
- 2:17Speaker 2: In three years we said, sixty markets. Man, you understand.
- 2:22Speaker 3: It all jumped off in the city man, New York
- 2:24Speaker 3: City Man. W b LS, why would have the world
- 2:28Speaker 3: guest set? I used to guest set up there. That's
- 2:31Speaker 3: what got them started. And I was sitting in for
- 2:34Speaker 3: some morning drive people and it said w b LS
- 2:37Speaker 3: were black like Steve. They made the Monica station with
- 2:42Speaker 3: they fell in love with it. We've been going strong
- 2:44Speaker 3: every since. So congratulations at w b LS. What you
- 2:47Speaker 3: got you Yeah, I want to ask you something, man,
- 2:52Speaker 3: Can you just talk to us about the importance of
- 2:54Speaker 3: a constant relationship with God?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Versus every nine. And then, well, let me say this.
- 3:04Speaker 3: You are continually dealing with life, and life continually keeps
- 3:11Speaker 3: on lifing. See, life don't stop. Life just keeps on lifing.
- 3:17Speaker 3: And when I say that, I mean that life just
- 3:19Speaker 3: keeps on doing the eving flows that life has and
- 3:22Speaker 3: last comes. Life comes with ups and downs, It comes
- 3:26Speaker 3: with peaks and valleys, It comes with pleasant weather, It
- 3:29Speaker 3: comes with storms, It comes with tsunamis, it comes with
- 3:33Speaker 3: green pastures, It comes with it all. It comes from
- 3:37Speaker 3: the joy of birth, It comes from the loss of bereavement,
- 3:41Speaker 3: of grief, it comes with everything. It does this to
- 3:46Speaker 3: all of us on a continuous basis. So if life
- 3:52Speaker 3: just keeps on lifing and life continually keeps coming at you,
- 3:59Speaker 3: why would you not continually have a relationship with God.
- 4:02Speaker 3: See here's what I had to learn, and this is
- 4:04Speaker 3: the lesson that I had to learn for myself. Quit
- 4:08Speaker 3: calling on God when you're in trouble, if you ain't
- 4:12Speaker 3: gonna call on him, if you ain't gonna call on
- 4:14Speaker 3: him when he's going right. Man, it's just a horrible
- 4:19Speaker 3: way to use your relationship with God. It would be
- 4:23Speaker 3: so much better if you didn't constantly have to reintroduce
- 4:28Speaker 3: yourself to God. Hey, God, I know it's been a while.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I ain't talk to you in a while, but I'm
- 4:34Speaker 3: going through some trouble right now. And God, being the
- 4:38Speaker 3: forgiving God that he is, he hears you anyway. But
- 4:42Speaker 3: suppose though you had an ongoing relationship with him, suppose
- 4:48Speaker 3: you thanked him when it was going right. But what
- 4:52Speaker 3: if you thanked him in the middle of when it
- 4:56Speaker 3: was in a storm in your life. What if you
- 4:58Speaker 3: thanked him for just strengthening you to weather the storm.
- 5:02Speaker 3: What about if you thanked him realizing that you're gonna
- 5:05Speaker 3: get through this, just like you've gotten through everything else.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Why would you not remember.
- 5:09Speaker 3: That this too shall pass, as has everything else that
- 5:13Speaker 3: has happened. If you can be grateful in the midst
- 5:16Speaker 3: of a storm, that's the beginning of a great relationship.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Because guess what, even the.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Storm gonna pass, It don't rain always. Even in the rainforest,
- 5:27Speaker 3: it don't rain all the time. Every now and then
- 5:33Speaker 3: on the desert, something will happen other than that heat.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Every now and then, man summer turns to fall, fall
- 5:42Speaker 3: turns to winter, but winter turns to spring. Because life
- 5:47Speaker 3: just keeps on. Life if I were you, I would
- 5:50Speaker 3: form a continual relationship. I don't want to introduce myself
- 5:54Speaker 3: to God every time something go wrong. Now I got
- 5:57Speaker 3: to go in there all sheepish and everything. Oh man,
- 6:00Speaker 3: when I go to God, I can go to God
- 6:01Speaker 3: with my head up because guess what He been with
- 6:05Speaker 3: me through it, all the good, the bad, the ugly,
- 6:09Speaker 3: and I appreciate Him for that. So yeah, get yourself
- 6:12Speaker 3: a continued relationship, and you ain't got to go to
- 6:14Speaker 3: church to get it. You can start right here, right
- 6:19Speaker 3: now today by talking to God. Have a conversation with
- 6:24Speaker 3: God today. He would absolutely love to hear from you,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and then ask His Holy Spirit to stay with you
- 6:31Speaker 3: and talk to you of often, ask him to audio steps.
- 6:34Speaker 3: You'd be amazed. What can happen if you let God
- 6:36Speaker 3: audience steps. Y'all have a great day to day. Steve
