SPEAKER_01: What does that mean, Morris?
• 0:37
SPEAKER_01: What that means is that I can't find my place amongst all of these papers that I think that's what that really means.
• 0:45
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 0:46
  SPEAKER_01: I've got it.
• 0:47
SPEAKER_01: Now just ahead, we talked to the man who helps bring you the Spring Branch High School Museum and Car Show, Frank Clam.

• 1:08
SPEAKER_01: David Ainsley is at home and in bed, and he will not be joining us this morning.
• 1:13
SPEAKER_01: You woke him up early this morning.
• 1:14
  SPEAKER_01: We did.
• 1:15
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:15
  SPEAKER_01: Mr.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_01: Morris, how are things over in Neederville?
• 1:18
SPEAKER_02: Nice, nice, nice, beautiful day over here.
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_02: Things are going well.
• 1:23
  SPEAKER_01: Well, that's something different.
• 1:26
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, it is.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_02: And I'm sure it'll change before the day's over.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_01: Is Frank with us this morning?
• 1:31
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, sir.
• 1:33
SPEAKER_01: Ladies and gentlemen, he is the president uh of the Spring Branch Senior High School Alumni Foundation, alumni foundation, Frank Clam.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_01: Frank, good morning to you, sir.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much for joining us.
• 1:43
  SPEAKER_03: Good morning, gang.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_03: I really appreciate the invite, and I'm looking looking forward to being a uh part of this.
• 1:51
SPEAKER_01: Well, you are officially part of this, and we're coming to visit you and your car show in just three weeks from today.
• 1:59
SPEAKER_03: That is true, and that is very very much appreciated because uh uh y'all add so much to it that you know people just this thing has grown over the years to something that it you know started out we had you know 10, 15, 20 cars, then 50, then 100, you know, and it's just uh really fascinating to see how much people enjoy looking at these vintage automobiles.
• 2:29
SPEAKER_01: One of the things that uh that I thought was interesting is that this is also there's a museum at this facility.
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_01: Am I correct?
• 2:36
SPEAKER_03: The you were absolutely correct.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_01: And what's in the museum?
• 2:41
SPEAKER_03: Well, basically the the museum was created after they closed Spring Branch High School in in uh uh 1985.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_03: And we had some alumni that were could look far enough in the future to realize that you know that you know we no longer have a place to go for homecoming.
• 3:01
SPEAKER_03: So they acquired all of the Spring Branch memorabilia.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_03: They just bought it from the school because the school is gonna throw it away.
• 3:09
SPEAKER_03: We're talking about trophies, uniforms, just everything.
• 3:13
  SPEAKER_01: Sure.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_03: So uh and then later when they remodeled the facility that we're at now, uh Duncan Kluzman, who was the superintendent at the time, thought that you know that Spring Branch needed a place where they could remember their history.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_03: So what he did, they tore down the entire school except for the original library and auditorium and gymnasium.
• 3:39
SPEAKER_03: So they gave us the old library, which is two stories, and all of a sudden we were able to go through there and and really create something that really is a walk down memory lane for not only those people that went to Spring Branch, but people that are in the Spring Branch area.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_03: We're now trying to get more into the community history, and we've we've done that.
• 4:05
SPEAKER_03: We have an area that now can talk about the history of the Spring Branch area.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_03: You know, most people don't realize that one of uh Stephen F.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_03: Alston's old 300 colonists was in Spring Branch.
• 4:19
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that.
• 4:20
SPEAKER_03: Yes, one of the original 300, he he had 1440 acres that was called the Piney Point League, which centered on Buffalo Bayou, but went up into, you know, basically memorial in Spring Branch and the the area that that created Spring Branch.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_03: So, you know, we and we have that original deed.
• 4:41
SPEAKER_03: Well, we don't have the original deed, we have a copy of the deed from 1824 that's all in Spanish, from the impresario Esteban F.
• 4:51
  SPEAKER_03: Austin to John Taylor.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_03: And you know, we kind of show where that is.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_03: And and one of the things we're if we're trying to do now, and we and we've already done a lot of the original settlers.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_03: And because, you know, it's amazing how, you know, where did these street names come from?
• 5:12
SPEAKER_03: Well, they were the original settlers.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_03: That's that's how the the settlers, you know, the that's where the street names came from.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_03: So we've kind of got a history of the Spring Branch Independent School District going back to the 1850s when they had that original church, and uh that's that's it's it's still on Long Point.
• 5:35
SPEAKER_03: That church is still on Long Point, but the school was there, and so we have the whole history of the Spring Branch Independent School District, and one of the things we're trying to do now is we're trying to get additional information for the for the other five high schools in the district.
• 5:55
SPEAKER_03: Unfortunately, Spring Branch graduates, you know, our alumni association cannot get any new members.
• 6:04
SPEAKER_03: We're kind of frozen, you know.
• 6:06
SPEAKER_03: So every year we get smaller and smaller and smaller, and they're eventually this we're not gonna have any Spring Branch High School alumni.
• 6:16
  SPEAKER_03: It's called age.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_03: So what we're trying to do is uh add some information and get the entire community involved.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_01: Now wait, doesn't Spring Branch Spring Branch ISD still exists, does it not?
• 6:34
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_03: Of course it does.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_01: Yes, just not with the same schools.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_03: No, that they you know at one time they they got up to six high schools, and in 1985 they c closed Westchester and Spring Branch.
• 6:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_03: So they we still have four.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_03: So what we want to do is is try to get representation.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_03: We want the entire area to be involved in this museum.
• 7:03
SPEAKER_01: Well, you you're you take up uh part of uh memorial, and uh yes, and so I and I would imagine that there are still people as is Memorial High School Houston or is it Spring Branch?
• 7:14
  SPEAKER_03: It's Spring Branch.
• 7:15
  SPEAKER_01: It's Spring Branch.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_01: And so I and Memorial High School, you know, has this long, long history of um uh shall we say, uh folks that are better off than a lot of people, and a lot of and and and and a lot of car collectors and car enthusiasts that have some special hot rod in the garage.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_01: Now, have you reached out to have uh the invite go out to the other high school alumni within Spring Branch to come to this show?
• 7:46
  SPEAKER_03: We are trying.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_03: That's one of the things we're doing now is going back to the original high schools and to get a I mean, I'm not sure how many high schools have an alumni foundation.
• 7:58
SPEAKER_03: Now each class probably has information on their class, but as far as someone taking all that information because they still have a high school to go back to for homecoming.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and and we don't.
• 8:12
SPEAKER_03: But you know, we our our museum will always focus mostly on spring branch because we were the only high school from 1949 to 1962.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_03: What memorial opened in 1962?
• 8:27
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so uh you know, we we want people to understand, hey, this is what high school was like back when Spring Branch Memorial Area was.
• 8:40
SPEAKER_01: And look at them now, they're all in wheelchairs.
• 8:42
  SPEAKER_01: Oh boy.
• 8:45
SPEAKER_01: At least they're still moving.
• 8:48
  SPEAKER_01: That's right.
• 8:49
SPEAKER_01: You're just moving with wheels rolling rolling down the road there.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_01: So let's focus let's focus on this car show that you got coming up and how much it has grown.
• 8:56
SPEAKER_01: And um, who all's invited?
• 8:59
SPEAKER_01: How much does it cost to enter a car when you have to be there?
• 9:01
SPEAKER_01: Let's have the details of the car show.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_03: Well, uh, you know, we have a very uh Dela is our car show guru on that.
• 9:11
  SPEAKER_03: I think it's the entry fee is$25.
• 9:14
SPEAKER_03: I may be wrong on that, but it's it's not much.
• 9:18
SPEAKER_03: Uh and and we have we're gonna have some food and uh you know the and we'll give prizes out.
• 9:25
SPEAKER_03: We have the participants vote on the best cars, and we're fortunate to have uh a bunch of sponsors that give us money so that we can do all that, and we appreciate y'all sponsorship because y'all come out and y'all give us probably more publicity than anybody.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_01: So, Frank, let me let me just throw this out there at you.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_01: What car are you bringing?
• 9:47
SPEAKER_01: And don't tell me your 1988 Buick Century.
• 9:51
  SPEAKER_01: I don't want to know.
• 9:51
SPEAKER_01: I want to see it now.
• 9:52
  SPEAKER_01: That's that's a classic in another chapter.
• 9:55
SPEAKER_03: I would love to have my old 57 Chevrolet.
• 9:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, you know what?
• 10:01
SPEAKER_01: You can buy one online today, I'm sure.
• 10:04
SPEAKER_01: Matter of fact, I think that we've got one in our sold car roundup that we're going to do.
• 10:08
SPEAKER_01: But so there's an opportunity for you here.
• 10:11
SPEAKER_01: You bring your Buick, I'll bring mine.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, unfortunately, I was not smart enough to save that car.
• 10:22
  SPEAKER_02: Oh boy.
• 10:23
SPEAKER_03: Well, I like Dan Camaro, too, that would look pretty good today.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, yeah, I can only I can only imagine uh that Camaro.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_01: Uh I've had a few my myself, but um so uh are you going to be at the car show on the AT?
• 10:40
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yes.
• 10:41
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 10:44
SPEAKER_03: We'll be we'll I think the alumni foundation, we vote for a car.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_03: So we will walk around and you know we'll give a director's award for uh you know one car, and then we have people's choice and all all sorts of categories that that that everybody then we have goodie bags from the donations where that every entrant will get a goodie bag.
• 11:09
SPEAKER_03: So and then we'll have uh I think we'll have a silent auction again where we'll get stuff donated and put it.
• 11:16
SPEAKER_01: So are are we gonna have the opportunity to have a hot dog lunch or something while we're there?
• 11:20
SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes, we're gonna have barbecue.
• 11:24
SPEAKER_03: And and you know, we we had a tragic incident from ri Richard Hale, who's on our board for years and years, was always in charge of the barbecue, and he passed away last year.
• 11:35
  SPEAKER_04: Oh boy.
• 11:36
SPEAKER_03: But his barbecue team says we want to honor his memory and continue to come out and do that.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna have the same barbecue team come out there and do uh chopped beef sandwiches and hot dogs, cheese.
• 11:52
  SPEAKER_01: We're in.
• 11:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, we well, we're in on that.
• 11:55
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, you you you name hot dogs, and I I'm in.
• 11:58
  SPEAKER_01: I I'm all over it.
• 11:59
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sir.
• 12:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 12:01
SPEAKER_01: By the way, uh I found out that H E B's got a really good uh hot dog that they sell, and it it uh it really is nice.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's got a lot of snap to it.
• 12:11
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, snappy, yeah, and we like snappy hot dogs.
• 12:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, all right.
• 12:16
SPEAKER_01: So um is there an entry fee?
• 12:18
  SPEAKER_01: Do you know?
• 12:20
SPEAKER_03: Uh to get in, there's not.
• 12:22
  SPEAKER_03: Everything's free.
• 12:23
SPEAKER_03: And of course, we want people to come by the museum as well.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_03: We'll have the museum open.
• 12:28
SPEAKER_03: Unfortunately, the car show's in the back parking lot, and a lot of people just go straight to the car show and uh don't make it to the uh museum, but uh we'll be there opening up the museum.
• 12:40
SPEAKER_01: Well, you need to have somebody doing a tour of the museum and and and herd them up, put them in a big line.
• 12:45
SPEAKER_01: And listen, if you went to school at any time in your life, you know about lines, and you see you get in the line and come on in.
• 12:52
SPEAKER_01: It's one of those kind of things.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_03: That that's a good idea, but it's hard to tear them away from the car show.
• 12:56
SPEAKER_03: There's so many cars out there.
• 12:58
SPEAKER_03: It's it's uh in fact, I probably spend too much time at the car show and not at the museum.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_01: Well, what you need to do is then, you know, here's the ticket.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_01: So you you you you take the ticket, put it in your pocket, and you have to have the ticket punched in the museum to be able to get your car out of the car show bar.
• 13:19
  SPEAKER_01: There you go.
• 13:20
  SPEAKER_01: There you go.
• 13:21
SPEAKER_01: You don't pay to get in, you pay to get out.
• 13:22
  SPEAKER_01: Pay to get out.
• 13:23
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's a great idea.
• 13:25
SPEAKER_01: It's it's kind of like it's kind of like a penitentiary, and we're all f familiar with that.
• 13:29
SPEAKER_03: That will go over well, I'm sure.
• 13:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, uh so many of the same people that come back every year, and we keep getting new entries, and it's just you know, it it you you don't and you don't have to be a gearhead to enjoy this.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_03: No, well, you know, it's like old cars.
• 13:46
SPEAKER_01: I think that a friend of mine lives over there in the Spring Branch Memorial area.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_01: His name is Greg Enders, he's the dad of Erica and Courtney Enders, and I think that whatever it is that he's driving, uh he could come over there and and take a tour of all of that.
• 14:01
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, uh, I actually bought my Corvette from him, which I I I'm not real I I don't know.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_01: I I shouldn't really even talk to him anymore because I had to wind up I wound up having to put a clutch in the car that cost me a 20 year old.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_01: He took it to the drag strip, yeah, and burnt the clutch up.
• 14:19
  SPEAKER_02: Didn't get a warranty?
• 14:20
SPEAKER_01: No, warranty, no, not on a 20-year-old.
• 14:23
SPEAKER_02: 30 days or 30 steps, whichever comes first.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_02: That's it.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_02: But I I would tell you, just a couple quick comment.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_02: I went through the museum uh one day, they sent me took me through there, and it was fascinating to see all the history and the stuff that's in there.
• 14:37
SPEAKER_02: And I really wish I hope a lot of people go do that because I wish my high school would have done that.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_02: I mean, we started in 1923, and and I mean, we've got hundred-year-old football rivalries.
• 14:48
SPEAKER_02: Bum Phillips coached at both high schools in that rivalry when he was.
• 14:53
SPEAKER_01: You were there in 1925.
• 14:55
SPEAKER_02: I'm telling you, I saw the first graduating class, you know.
• 14:58
SPEAKER_02: But it's just I look back, my grandchildren are graduating from high school now, and I'm wishing they understood that history that's been going on for since 1923, a hundred years.
• 15:10
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 15:10
  SPEAKER_02: Uh and they don't.
• 15:12
SPEAKER_02: They they there's they have none of those kids have any clue about this area like that.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_01: Matter of fact, it was it was his school over there in Edeland, and they had the old thing about rah-rah, reed, kick him in the knee, rah-rah, ras, kick him in the other knee.
• 15:24
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_02: It was one of our favorites.
• 15:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
• 15:28
SPEAKER_03: So but let me mention one other thing that's we're we're just starting.
• 15:32
SPEAKER_03: We are looking for and have found prominent graduates from the Spring Branch Independent School District.
• 15:42
SPEAKER_03: And what we're doing, we've hired a professional interviewer, and we are gonna get them on camera telling about now we'll all know what they've done, but we'll we're gonna get them to talk about what their experience was in going through living in Spring Branch at the time that they went through school.
• 16:03
  SPEAKER_04: Well, there's a there's a uh company, uh uh what's it called?
• 16:06
  SPEAKER_04: Legacy Box.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_04: It's not a commercial or promo for them, but there are things like Legacy Box that will do that, they will give you a recorded video.
• 16:13
SPEAKER_01: And if you need a professional interviewer, you got one right here.
• 16:16
  SPEAKER_01: You got done.
• 16:18
SPEAKER_03: Well, we appreciate we appreciate that, but hopefully we're gonna have their picture up there, and and you know, some of the people we're talking gonna be talking to, you know, Roger Clemens, you know, we have some country singers, we have some people, we have a general, you know, a four-star general from the Air Force that people don't, you know, that's a pretty big deal.
• 16:39
SPEAKER_01: And hey, it is wait, wait just a minute.
• 16:41
SPEAKER_01: I I see some pictures on your wall in there.
• 16:43
  SPEAKER_01: Wait a minute.
• 16:44
SPEAKER_01: Is that one of Don Armstrong on there?
• 16:46
SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it is.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_01: Frank, we love you.
• 16:50
SPEAKER_01: We can't look uh we can't uh thank you enough for joining us today, and we really look forward to uh having seeing you next uh well in uh a couple of weeks.
• 16:58
  SPEAKER_01: Three weeks, yeah.
• 16:59
  SPEAKER_01: October the 18th.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_01: And it's 10 10 to 2 out there much for everything you do because we really look what's the address again, Frank, for the show?
• 17:13
SPEAKER_02: Uh it's something with you.
• 17:16
  SPEAKER_03: Something with you.
• 17:18
  SPEAKER_02: I get it.
• 17:19
  SPEAKER_02: Take the fire.
• 17:20
  SPEAKER_02: I got it.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_03: Like asking me what my phone number is.
• 17:24
  SPEAKER_03: You know, number three.
• 17:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 17:27
  SPEAKER_01: Number three.
• 17:28
  SPEAKER_01: That's it.
• 17:29
  SPEAKER_01: Frank, thanks again.

• 19:24
  SPEAKER_04: Love it.
• 19:24
  SPEAKER_04: Love it.
• 19:26
SPEAKER_04: Hey, that address uh for the Spring Branch is at 9016 Westview Drive in Houston.
• 19:34
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Dr.
• 19:34
SPEAKER_02: And I think Adelia is going to have her 69 yellow cornet sitting out front.
• 19:39
  SPEAKER_04: The motor minute.
• 19:40
  SPEAKER_04: Do you have that?
• 19:41
  SPEAKER_04: I do.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_04: I got it right here, Michael.
• 19:43
SPEAKER_04: Chevlet shifts Corvette production as the ZR1 overtakes what?
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_04: The E-ray.
• 19:48
SPEAKER_04: General Motors has officially tipped its hand, and it looks like the Corvette's lineup future is leaning far more towards the gas-guzzling combustion rather than the silent hybrid power.
• 19:59
SPEAKER_04: Recent production data reveals a surprising twist.
• 20:02
SPEAKER_04: Ever since the ZR1 production started in May of last year, uh Chevlet has now built more than uh more in 2026 than the E-rays that they built in 2026, signaling a sudden and deliberate shift into priority toward the brand's new Apex Predator.
• 20:19
SPEAKER_04: According to Corvette Production, what is Apex Predator is out of the engine or something?
• 20:23
SPEAKER_04: No, it's just uh the high end of being uh uh a predator of uh according to the Corvette production trackers, 51 ZR1s were built in the last seven days alone, pushing the turbocharged monster to 228 total units produced this year compared to 223 of the E-rays.
• 20:42
SPEAKER_04: Enthusiasts watching the bowling green production data have noticed something curious.
• 20:46
SPEAKER_04: E-ray output has slowed to a crawl, making only 4% of the total production of 2025.
• 20:53
SPEAKER_04: Last year at this time it was 12%, so there is a drastic decrease.
• 20:58
SPEAKER_04: This is significant because the E-ray is initially positioned as an all-season Halo Corvette, combining Stingray power with a hybrid torque, filled in all-wheel drive.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_04: But in practice, buyers are voting with their wallets, and it turns out they prefer boost over batteries.
• 21:13
  SPEAKER_04: I agree.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_04: There's no secret that Chevrolet is preparing a full electronic Corvette somewhere down the line, and the E-ray was a widely seen as the brand's transitional experiment.
• 21:24
SPEAKER_04: But the latest production shift suggests that the hybrid formula may not be resonating as strongly as expected, or at least not when parked next to the 850 plus horsepower ZR1.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_04: So they're building more of the the horsepower and less of the uh battery, battery vets.
• 21:43
  SPEAKER_04: No surprise.
• 21:44
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no surprise.
• 21:45
SPEAKER_04: So it'll still be around, but I don't think they're gonna be uh as prominent, right?
• 21:50
SPEAKER_04: I don't think the marketing is gonna go that much.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_01: Well, I think that that car was designed uh with a battery uh electric boost in mind.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: Um so they really didn't have to change a whole lot um by building it, but they're really pricey.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_04: And the Formula One race was on a Singapore this morning.
• 22:09
SPEAKER_04: I caught just a few minutes of it, but they've got the hybrid power in the Formula One cars.
• 22:14
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 22:14
SPEAKER_04: You have to finish with a certain amount of energy in the car.
• 22:16
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 22:17
SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like trying to regulate your gasoline and stuff, and I I don't it doesn't change the weight of the car.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_02: I don't know why they try and regulate the charge, but don't know.
• 22:28
  SPEAKER_01: It's money.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_01: I mean do they charge the cars during the race?
• 22:32
SPEAKER_04: Uh no, they do not.
• 22:34
SPEAKER_04: I thought they changed cars.
• 22:36
SPEAKER_04: No, in electric, if if it's an electric uh e Formula One, Formula E, they do change cars, but in a normal Formula One combustion, oh, okay, okay.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_04: They have a boost, they have the hybrid, yeah.
• 22:47
  SPEAKER_04: The hybrid boost, yeah.
• 22:49
SPEAKER_01: All right, time now for this hour's car review.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_01: I had a chance to drive the 2025 Hyundai Sonata, and we have a picture of that, I believe.
• 22:58
  SPEAKER_04: Is that Mike?
• 22:58
SPEAKER_01: Um the final assembly location of this vehicle is Ulsan, Korea.
• 23:04
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I'm sure that uh tariffs will have something to do with the price of this car.
• 23:10
SPEAKER_01: Available trim levels, there's gasoline, there's a hybrid, and the Nline.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_01: I had the N line front wheel drive.
• 23:21
SPEAKER_01: This is considered a large car, or many people call it a full-size car.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_01: I don't even consider it a full size.
• 23:28
SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking more along the lines of a mid.
• 23:30
  SPEAKER_02: Right, yeah, yeah.
• 23:32
SPEAKER_01: Uh, it uh seats five people, including the driver.
• 23:36
SPEAKER_01: It was all new in 2020.
• 23:38
SPEAKER_01: They've recently had a bump uh in the uh update on this car.
• 23:44
SPEAKER_01: Sleek wind cheating front fascia with fender to fender lighting, uh halo light that goes up there.
• 23:51
SPEAKER_01: You can see it right there in that picture.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_01: This particular car that I had, like this one in the video, is a matte silver finish.
• 23:58
SPEAKER_01: It's an extra thousand bucks.
• 24:00
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_01: Has black wheels, it looks it looks hot.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_01: Uh, really did kind of like the look of it.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_01: Uh creased fender well openings uh highlight the big wheels on this car.
• 24:14
SPEAKER_01: Fast back roof with trunk lid spoiler uh has the boy hot rodders giggly over this car.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_01: What I liked about it, the overall design gets high marks, in my opinion.
• 24:26
  SPEAKER_01: What could use improvement?
• 24:27
  SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_01: I think that they they really hit it.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_01: If you're looking for a hot rod type sedan, uh this is something to look at, that's for sure.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_01: Interior highlights include a gray interior that has a red stripe throughout the interior that um is actually tastefully done.
• 24:46
SPEAKER_01: One big screen atop the dash contains instruments and the infotainment information.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_01: Comfortable seating with N embroidered on the seat backs, a handy center console with multiple functionality, like that a lot.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_01: Uh trunk room is adequate, it's got that fast back on it, so um, you've got a little bit more trunk room on it than you normally would on a standard sedan.
• 25:12
SPEAKER_01: But I liked the unique shifter stock.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_01: Now, you Jeff would probably hate it because you're more of a traditionalist.
• 25:20
SPEAKER_01: I get to drive all these different cars.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_01: This is a stalk that comes out of the right side of the steering column, and on the end of it has a silver knob.
• 25:30
SPEAKER_01: And if you want to put it in drive, you twist it forward.
• 25:34
SPEAKER_01: If you want to put it in neutral, you bring it back and press it in.
• 25:39
SPEAKER_01: And if you want to put it in reverse, you twist it back towards you.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_01: Works really well, it's out of the way, it's not on the center console, taking up space that I just feel is really it's a waste of space, is what it is.
• 25:51
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 25:52
SPEAKER_01: So unique uh shifter stick uh that I liked on it, but could use improvement.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_01: It could use a ventilated seat option that it currently doesn't offer.
• 26:02
SPEAKER_01: I think that's something they should probably look at.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_01: Two and a half liter turbo four cylinder that turns out ready, 290 horsepower for the turbo four, 311 pound feet of torque, eight-speed automatic transmission.
• 26:16
SPEAKER_01: Mileage 23 in the city is what it's rated, 32 on the highway for combined at 27.
• 26:21
SPEAKER_01: I got 28.9 miles per gallon over 467.4 miles.
• 26:27
SPEAKER_01: What I like uh the powerful engine in it.
• 26:31
  SPEAKER_01: This thing rocked.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_01: Uh, what could use improvement?
• 26:34
SPEAKER_01: Sure would like to have some exhaust sound at full throttle.
• 26:37
SPEAKER_01: Maybe they could put a button on it, some so something.
• 26:40
SPEAKER_01: Because when you step on it, it's you can't tell that you've stepped on it.
• 26:45
SPEAKER_01: It just goes without any sound.
• 26:47
SPEAKER_01: And this is a hot rod.
• 26:48
SPEAKER_01: So let's make it sound like a hot rod.
• 26:50
  SPEAKER_01: Riding handling, underscore comfortable.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_01: This thing rode like butter.
• 26:56
  SPEAKER_01: Butter.
• 26:57
  SPEAKER_01: What could use improvement?
• 26:58
SPEAKER_01: The tires, the tires meet need more grip.
• 27:02
  SPEAKER_01: Oh wow.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_01: This thing will they're not sticky.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_01: No, this thing will light them up and use it.
• 27:06
SPEAKER_04: They are season tires, probably.
• 27:07
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they are.
• 27:08
SPEAKER_01: And you know, that that's fine, but this is a hot rod, in my opinion.
• 27:13
SPEAKER_02: A new it is a performance vehicle.
• 27:15
SPEAKER_02: And did you ever have one, Mars?
• 27:17
SPEAKER_02: No, but I mean it's their inline, that's what it's touted at.
• 27:21
  SPEAKER_01: That's what it's all about.
• 27:22
SPEAKER_01: So they need to do something with the tires, unless, of course, you know, you just light them up all the time and go through them like wada, and then go get you some stickies on there.
• 27:30
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 27:31
SPEAKER_01: Riding handling, comfortable, tires need more grip.
• 27:34
  SPEAKER_01: Base trim price,$35,250.
• 27:37
  SPEAKER_01: Price is tested,$37.610.
• 27:40
SPEAKER_01: That's with that$1,000 pop for the matte finish.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_01: Uh, competitors to this vehicle, there really isn't any.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_01: Honda Accord starts at$28,295, but it doesn't have the horsepower.
• 27:52
SPEAKER_01: Same thing with the Toyota camera.
• 27:54
  SPEAKER_01: It's at$28.7.
• 27:55
SPEAKER_01: And the VW Jetta threw that one in there just for the heck of it for$22,995.
• 28:01
  SPEAKER_01: Like the car overall.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it really is.
• 28:04
  SPEAKER_01: It really is nice.
• 28:05
  SPEAKER_01: Cool.
• 28:05
SPEAKER_01: The Honda, I'm sorry, the Hyundai Sonata N-line front-wheel drive.
• 28:14
  SPEAKER_01: With niacin.
• 28:15
  SPEAKER_01: With niacin.
• 28:18
SPEAKER_01: Turbo power, fun, agile, and elegant is it says on the sticker here.
• 28:23
  SPEAKER_01: All right.
• 28:25
  SPEAKER_01: That's that.
• 28:26
  SPEAKER_04: That is that.
• 28:27
  SPEAKER_01: Just moving right along.
