- 0:17possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some
- 0:20joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning.
- 0:29OK, the question of the day, what's the number one factor
- 0:34that you could think of that pushes you to success?
- 0:39Like what's that number one factor that seems to show up in
- 0:43success across the board no matter who you're talking to?
- 0:48Have you thought about this? Any clue at all?
- 0:51Just take a second and really think about this.
- 0:53What do you think it is? OK, I'm going to tell you after
- 0:57years of coaching, I can definitively say the number one
- 1:00factor is not education. It's not, you know, status.
- 1:07It's not all of the things that one might think it would be.
- 1:11It is consistency, without a doubt.
- 1:15Consistency is the thing that pushes us to the success that we
- 1:19are looking for. And the crazy part of it is
- 1:23success is built upon multiple little consistent things that
- 1:28you do. But you want to know what the
- 1:30conundrum is here. And the puzzle isn't all of it.
- 1:33That consistency is also the number one thing that can wipe
- 1:38you out if you're going in the wrong direction.
- 1:41So it's kind of like a double edged sword.
- 1:44Consistency really is a challenge when you are doing the
- 1:48wrong things. So in other words, if I'm eating
- 1:51the wrong food consistently, I'm going to suffer the effects of
- 1:54that. If I'm having the wrong people
- 1:57in my employment and I continue to keep them in my employment
- 2:01and I don't do something about it, I'm going to suffer the
- 2:04consequences if I do things consistently.
- 2:07Like if I if I have a rock in my shoe, and this is such a simple
- 2:10example, but it it always gets through to people.
- 2:13If I have a rock in my shoe and it's not bothering me enough to
- 2:18stop, but I feel it in my shoe and I keep walking and it's just
- 2:23there and it keeps irritating my foot and irritating my foot and
- 2:27irritating my foot. The crazy thing is by the end of
- 2:30the day, when I take my shoe off, I'm going to have a tender
- 2:33spot on my foot. And that tender spot is not
- 2:36going to just last for that little bit of time.
- 2:39I take my shoe off and now it's gone.
- 2:41That little tender spot is going to last quite some time because
- 2:45I've I've worn it in, I've got, I've got this like impression of
- 2:49this little tiny fragment of the earth in my foot.
- 2:54And I didn't take care of it. I didn't do it, but I kept
- 2:57walking on it consistently because I kept doing the same
- 3:02thing over and over with that little tiny rock.
- 3:04Now I've actually hurt my foot. Now it's a, it's a little tiny
- 3:07sample of where it shows up. But when you take that sample
- 3:12and you extrapolate that out and you start thinking about those
- 3:15things that are in your life that are not, you're doing them
- 3:19consistently. So don't just say, oh,
- 3:21consistency matters. It does matter.
- 3:23But doing the right things consistently matters so much
- 3:28more because heck, why would we want to keep running in the
- 3:32wrong direction and expecting to get the right results?
- 3:35It it just doesn't work. But it's the hardest thing that
- 3:39I think I have to work on with people because they're like,
- 3:42well, I'm being consistent. OK, Yes, I understand you're
- 3:44being consistent, but if you're being consistent in the wrong
- 3:47way, it's not going to get you where you want to go.
- 3:50And it's often the smallest things that we don't realize.
- 3:55For instance, if you are in a company, if you have a company,
- 3:58if you have a business, if you're a small business owner
- 4:01and you're listening, or even if you're a big, you know you're a
- 4:05person that runs a team in a big company.
- 4:07If you have these little factors that are pushing consistently
- 4:13and they're just irritating, they're not something that you
- 4:16feel like you've got to take on and, you know, conquer the world
- 4:19with, but they're there and they're irritating and every day
- 4:23they're there. Please do not make the mistake
- 4:25of thinking that these will not bother the overall outcome or
- 4:29they're not eroding something. They are because consistency
- 4:33always wins. If you have a person on your
- 4:36team and that person is negative and they're constantly bringing
- 4:40negative energy, make sure you realize clearly that that will
- 4:46affect the other team members. Make sure you realize when that
- 4:50when you hear somebody's leaving, somebody's quitting,
- 4:52somebody's going somewhere else, you know that that is because
- 4:56they did not like the conditions of which they were set up and
- 4:59working in. And part of that may be because
- 5:01you didn't handle the little things that were consistently
- 5:05showing up and causing them problems.
- 5:08If you don't do it, nobody will within yourself if you're
- 5:13consistently saying I need to lose. £5 I need to lose 5 lbs I
- 5:17need to lose 5. Pounds, but you're not doing the
- 5:20things that you need to and you consistently keep eating the
- 5:23wrong things and stopping at Chick-fil-A and buying, oh, I'm
- 5:27just going to run in and get a quick pop or whatever that adds
- 5:31up. And those things are what
- 5:33eroded. So what are you doing
- 5:36consistently in your favor and what are you doing consistently
- 5:40against your favor? Question of the day, my friends.
- 5:43Question of the day. I hope you have a blessed 1 and
- 5:46I will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
