- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: Scratch claw.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Up against the wall.

- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: At least in their total.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, everybody.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: Hello, at least I have never thought about starting an episode so quickly.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_03]: Where we just have to immediately go to somebody in the
- 1:37[SPEAKER_03]: Trojan Dester, we got to talk about Trent.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got to talk about Trent and not the Alexander Arnold.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_03]: All right, the Big Ten requires teams to put out an injury reports ahead of Big Ten games.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: So the first injury report of the season is out for the Trojans officially.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_03]: uh... and there's several players house uh... players who you might expect to be out killing a no-connors on the list we already knew that he was out allegia newbies misgames uh... shon scots table johnson rateric tegno i think those are walk-on's uh... no-it-too-po- uh... uh... well then it can only have a big dumbass there's a fashion uh... can there is retic
- 2:37[SPEAKER_03]: and Trent Mosley.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_03]: Trent Mosley.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: He who has had three 100 plus all-purpose yard games to start the season.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_03]: One of the best Trojan freshman in a long time.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think you could probably say maybe ever.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_03]: so far through three games was just crazy to say, but like he's been that good.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_03]: He had a punt return for a touchdown last week against Louisiana.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_03]: He also had a big leaping touchdown catch in which he came up a little bit lame.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_03]: Did not go back into the game.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_03]: It looked to be a concern that the reporter in the game was, oh, he's fine.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_03]: Well, maybe he's not fine.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's out.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: yeah officially out for this game here's what Riley had to say about it will continue monitoring it don't expect it to be extremely long term but still a little inconclusive at this time depending on how he responds um... yeah uh... Randy says i'm hearing he's out for multiple weeks hope i'm wrong uh... i gotta be honest with you guys
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: First and foremost, just look at the Jekim Stewart situation.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, boy.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: They were talking like he might be available for week one.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: As the mystic elicia is out in full force, it is now week four.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: It will game four.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: And Jekim Stewart is still listed as questionable.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's not even probable.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's questionable going into this game.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is a knee injury.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a seasoned, seasoned ending knee injury, so that tells us one thing.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's not an ACL.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: Unless they really want to lie to us.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: There are only a few other options here.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: It could be like an MCL.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: It could be a bone bruise or something like that.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: If it's a bone bruise, then yeah, maybe he misses one week and can tough it out the next week.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: If it's an MCL, I would be shocked if he's available for Oregon, and I said on Twitter is this news came out like at this point, I think we all have to mentally and emotionally and spiritually prepare for Trent Mosley likely being out until the by week and then coming back to play Wisconsin, which means missing.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: The four games that will define the narrative of the same time that season, Rutgers, Oregon, Washington, and Penn State, which is a huge bummer because we all had so much fun watching him play and USC needs him.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_02]: I know that USC has good receivers and can still go out and win those games without him, but having him,
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: would be a big, big plus for USC in those games.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's just, we have to be realistic here.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to like, doomsday or anything like that.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think there is a possibility that he's back sooner than four weeks, but I think we have to prepare ourselves for that possibility.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: And when Ryle, I don't want to like parse too closely, but one Ryle says,
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: don't expect it to be extremely long-term.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like that, that screams to me because he talked about like Jim Stewart's injury being like, oh, it's it's it's not a big it's not a big thing.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: And it has turned into a month-long injury.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just I'm just basing it around.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: Lincoln Riley cannot really
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: on his injury, the transparency part, and the reality is that when that knee injury happened, this was always a possibility, and they tried to play it off, which they often do, but I'm just saying, this screams MCL to me.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I could be meniscus.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: Did you say meniscus?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_03]: No, could be meniscus.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_03]: Sooners, I will say, when it happened, my first doomsday thought was A.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because and you had said, well, he's walking like, that doesn't mean anything.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_03]: That is a Chad Wheeler played like three quarters of a game with the torn AC yet.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_03]: Like players have walked with eight torn ACLs all the time, or they don't think it's that bad.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_03]: And then, oh, it is.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I think the bright side here is I think if it was an ACL, I think we'd know by now.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: If they suspected an ACL on the field, they would have taken him back immediately for scans because they would have wanted to get him in surgery immediately.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: And sometimes you can't tell that.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the thing is like, like you said, we would know already because he would be booked for surgery already.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a good sign at least.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_03]: I, I, it is a bummer because he has looked so incredibly good.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: All American good, not just freshmen, all American good.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: And I was really wanting to see what he looks like against Big Ten competition this week, next week, week after, et cetera.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_03]: And so hopefully it's just a little uncertain and he'll be back for Oregon, and it's just a one week thing.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_03]: But crushing disappointment.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, look at the bright side.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: You still have Kayden Nixon, why?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_03]: You still have Tron Baker.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_03]: You still have Torrell Anderson, who has done nothing on offense yet.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I think people are excited to see what he can do because there was all off season.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_03]: He was someone who was expected to be potentially the number one or the number two with Tenerk Heinz and Tenerk Heinz has done nothing really either because he was injured in fall camp
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: So, Trent, mostly not there, sucks because of how good we know he has been these first three games.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: Depth wise.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: not that big of a deal in terms of the number of bodies that S.C. can rely on, it is a big deal given how good he's been.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_03]: Is that fair?
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: 100%.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: And again, it all goes back to this conversation we've been having all year that, you know, that this, this group is heavily relying on freshmen and
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: it is asking a lot of somebody like Booby Feaster to now have to come in and, you know, I think it was a bit of a luxury for USC to be able to use him in these first for three games and not have to feel like they were pressuring him to perform or to deliver at this stage.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I don't necessarily think that he suddenly gets pressured considerably,
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: There's one less guy out there that U.S. he can rely on and I just saw a tweet from him actually.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I had I think it scrolled away from it, but him saying like thank God for the gifts that are coming or something like that.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like that.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that this is sound great.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_03]: I would just say that like, usually the like,
- 10:27[SPEAKER_03]: God is good posts or when bad things happen.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: Am I in my wrong?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: You sound like DJ Lagway talking about God abandoning you.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_03]: Oh boy.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: But either way, like I don't think it's fair on movie feaster to suddenly say like well it's okay because USC has movie feaster.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's not, it's not the same thing.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think what is, what is good is that we have seen this season already that Sean Baker can step up and we've seen Zacharias Zacharias Williams.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: Be involved in this offense and those are the guys directly who I think.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: will positionally be involved and then you have guys like Cadendix and Wyatt and to no kind to you hope can step up their game and you got Mark Bowman who is obviously another target that you can use and replace you you can't replace Mosley's like impact because he's just he's he's looked incredible so far but you can replace production to a point by spreading the ball around to a lot of those guys so
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about this season, USC needs to stay relatively healthy, and that is still going to be the challenge of this season.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of the positions where it is not a catastrophe to lose the star player.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, hopefully.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully not.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_03]: I and this could be a thing where he could maybe he could play this week and you just want to play it safe and you bring him back for Oregon next week.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_03]: And this is something that we spent 10 minutes on a pod talking about the sky as falling into means nothing.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_03]: That could be the case too.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: We will see other players on the availability reports
- 12:21[SPEAKER_03]: uh... badminton is doubtful and the questionable guys are jakeem steward uh... the shanredo and jaden walker uh... don't think we learn anything new there because i think that we would have all assumed that jakeem steward and shanredo would be questionable uh... yeah jaden walker being questionable could could get interesting because
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: The linebacker rotation is basically Desmond Stevens and Devon Bryant and behind them.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: I felt pretty good about Jane Walker.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: I feel a lot less good about Tamara Robinson, but he would be the next man up.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: So that'll be something to keep an eye on.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: I still have a question about whether or not we will seed your came steward in this game.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: I really hope we do, because I would love for him to get some time on the field before Oregon.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: but also as has been established, I don't necessarily trust you as see when it comes to being optimistic about whether or not a guy is going to be returning from injury.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: So that's something obviously we will be keeping a close close eye on.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: And this is the first of
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: four injury reports that we will get so we'll get one today Wednesday we'll get one on Thursday we'll get one on Friday and then we get one on Saturday before the game so things might change in that time this isn't the definitive you know list that the ends at all so that's just you know that's the way the the cookie crumbles.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we will see how all of that sort of uh... it comes to be I do want to point out on the Rutgers injury list yes you want to don't say no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: I take as a sign that that is likely going to be their starter, unless something changes during the week.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: If he's being listed as probable now, then I think that'll probably be him getting back into the game after Miss Similasky.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_03]: The other guy to mention is questionable running back, and Juan Raymond, who we're going to talk about here in a second when we start to preview Rutgers because he might be their best player.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: And listen, it's questionable.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_03]: is a concern if you're the Scarlet Knights like that's you know you need him to be there you obviously won't do longer to be there if your Rutgers as well so but either way those are the guys that of course that you're betting on if your Rutgers and you can head over to my bookie and find guys to bed on as well because at least on Sunday it's your birthday so you gotta be feeling lucky on your birthday
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, that's not true.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: I feel anti-lucky.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: My birthday always coincides with losses for my my team.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, then here you go, which by the way, guys, I'm Chargers six and a half point favorites over the Raiders.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_03]: What did we say last week, Michael?
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: Chargers nine and something points, favorites over the Cardinals that I said, I don't like that.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I similarly can not like this.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_03]: See, I will be taking my jacks as two and a half point dogs on the road at mile high against the Broncos.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_03]: You, of course, can can join us over at my bookie.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_03]: Side up at my bookie with promo code, ROT.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_03]: ROT.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_03]: ROT and start your season off with the win, but on anything any time anywhere, must be 21 plus 18 plus and select jurisdictions, terms and conditions apply gambling problem called 1-800 gambler.

- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: At least you'll let's get into the game on Saturday, 1230 p.m. Pacific on CBS, Brad Nessler, Charles Davis on the call on CBS.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: Commentator.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: Um, fine.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: I can't.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_03]: I can't not my favorite.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: I can't think of my favorite, but like he's, you know that if he's on a game, that's a big game.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_03]: So it works.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: And Brett Nessler is my favorite.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_03]: So that's great.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_03]: Radkers.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and two.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_03]: they have to play in the big tangers like SC has yet this is their big ten openers well Greg's got her their head coaches is 18th season in pescat away his seventh consecutive this is his second stints after going to the NFL he went he was with the defensive coordinator at Ohio State for a season I think SC won the only meeting these two teams I've ever met when which was in 2024 on a Friday night
- 17:02[SPEAKER_03]: Miller mosque against.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_03]: Ethan Caliac Manus a brilliant battle of the ages at an 8 p.m. Friday night game that probably nobody remembers would by the way have you noticed that in the injury report under doubtful weather, see bird.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know Caliac Manus and how we recommend related must be it's got to be there's no way.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_03]: Tell me do you know Caliac Manus isn't a CDM for for Olympia one million percent yes.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Rutgers ranked 93rd in FBI, which is no 1-0, 75th by Jeff Sagerin.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_03]: This is the Rutgers team that comes in hurting literally and figuratively.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: They lost to UMass, a team who is, I think, widely considered to be the worst in FBS.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think that,
- 17:53[SPEAKER_03]: Is that objectively true?
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it is.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: They hadn't won an FBS game in like four years, my goal.
- 17:59[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: And then they turned around and lost two Boston College on Red Band In and Light, which to be fair, I think that the 72 dolphins would have lost the Boston College on Red Band In and night on a 911.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we could have called that one.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: It was not going to go well for Rutgers.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: There was no chance, but, but still, if you saw the athletic today, which we could probably talk about later, but the athletic today put out the rankings of everyone's roster
- 18:39[SPEAKER_03]: So, well, well, they lost the Boston College.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we could go, a lot of uncertainty at quarterback, although we might have gotten some more clarity today with the release of that availability report.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: As of Tuesday, Greg Siano would not name the starter.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_03]: If he did earlier today, as we record this on Wednesday, we have not picked that up yet.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: So keep that in mind, Dylan longer in.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_03]: Um, started against UMass in week one, but he didn't finish the game due to injury or 16 of 29, 242 yards, 2 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, or a pass at reading of 127.3 productive, but Aaron, I think, would be a way to put it.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_03]: He was a four-star recruit.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_03]: He spent a couple years in Alabama then went to Boston College, was a starter for the Eagles last year under, um,
- 19:30[SPEAKER_03]: Bob, Coach Bob, Bill Bryan at Boston College and he was okay.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: He was fine.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_03]: Basically, it's the promotion to the Rutgers job and then ultimately can't start for Rutgers against his own team.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: Boston College, it's JJ Surace that starts a guy who had been back up to anything like Manus last year.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_03]: He started against Boston College 18 of 27, 230 yards, three touchdowns
- 19:59[SPEAKER_03]: pass a ready of 145.3, which is crazy that that high when you throw four picks.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's um, but this goes into like Rutgers often.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think we're going to like this part of the preview here is that Rutgers offense is extremely error-prone given all the turnovers that they've had.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: But there is some bite there.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_03]: There is some bite there.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_03]: Surace, his dad's long time had coach at Princeton, so he has some football juice there, but didn't long you're in listed as probable.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: So you'd have to imagine that if he's healthy, he will get the start.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_03]: We will see what happens, we'll see who apps.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_03]: absolutely is in the backfields for Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: Mind you, this offense has two really damn good players, damn good players on offense at the skill positions.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_03]: Both of whom were two of the 12 guys, the Big Ten Conference put in their preseason honors list.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: Only 12 guys.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_03]: They didn't name a first team or second team a 13 preset.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_03]: No, just 12 dudes.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: Two Rutgers players on it.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_03]: Running back Antoine Raymond, who is now listed as questionable in the availability report, is 176 yards so far this season.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_03]: He had 1,200 yards a year ago a 13 touchdowns.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_03]: He's kept a quiet.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_03]: He's from Montreal, which is awesome.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see if he's able to play
- 21:35[SPEAKER_03]: 333 yards, five touchdowns, at least he is the Rutgers passing game.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_03]: He has 42.5% of Rutgers catches 60.1% of their guards.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_03]: He's got five of the six passing touchdowns so far this season.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_03]: He is their danger man, last year he led Rutgers with 60 catches over 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns, but even still with those two guys.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_03]: This offense has struggled 23.8, nearly a quarter of their non garbage drives have resulted in zero or negative yards.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_03]: That's real bad.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_03]: Despite playing defenses who ranked 138th,
- 22:16[SPEAKER_03]: And 91st in the preseason FBI rankings.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, UMass dead last in the preseason FBI rankings Rutgers also dead last in the big 10 in turnovers with eight red zone offense only at 57% and sex allowed for
- 22:33[SPEAKER_03]: Small sample size there, but still dead last in the big 10.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_03]: There's seven interceptions tied with Utah State for the most in all of FBS.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I just looked this up.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: They are dead last internal or is lost in the nation.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, second to last in the big 10 and rushing and third downs, third to last in the big 10 in yards per play.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: This is a Rutgers offense that I don't think that you're really feeling good about if you're at Scarlet Knight because yes, you've got KJ Duff, but what's the quarterback situation longer in coming on off of an injury if he's probable?
- 23:19[SPEAKER_03]: He is, you know, listed as questionable.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_03]: So this is the best side of the ball for Rutgers.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: Is there offense?
- 23:28[SPEAKER_03]: If there's a world in which there's a shootout that that happens, Rutgers can compete in a shootout by putting up points because of their star players in Raymond and Duff.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: Who's going to throw death to the ball and will Antoine Raymond be healthy and what does this mean for U.S.E.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_03]: defense that has given up points in two of the three weeks but also has been really good with the number ones are out there.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think this all comes down to quarterback play.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: Rutgers should not be as bad as they are.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Even if we consider Rutgers is not a contender in the big ten.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: Rutgers is not a team that anybody was projecting to do anything, but maybe fight for bull eligibility.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: The
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: The problem here is that this Rutgers team should not have lost to someone like you mass, and it should not have been such a foregone conclusion that they would lose to a team like Boston College.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: And the difference in both of those games for me was quarterback play.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: You simply cannot win a football game where your quarterback throws three plus interceptions.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: You just won't do it.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you won't win very many football
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, for me, this is really about whether or not USC can make these quarterbacks look as bad, whichever one it is that they face, look as bad as they've looked in these first two games.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that the questions about USC secondary will be raised heavily if USC is getting ripped apart by Lonerganor or Surace.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: At the same time, I find it hard to believe that suddenly they will turn into competent playable quarterbacks when USC's defensive front has been as
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: as effective as they have been in these first two games, like, even without getting the quarterback as much as they could have, you know, Jaden Mandel from Fresno State, got apps.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was a pocket pastor that's much closer to, uh, Lonerganan and Surace, then say, a lunch win field.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: And, uh,
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: He was, he looked got awful in this game in that game against USC largely because that defense of front was tearing them up and, you know, Tom Brady would have had trouble behind that that line.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_03]: Luke, we've heard three points before the defensive line left got switched out, yes.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: And so, um,
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, it's just hard to see where even KJ definitely you can only do damage if your quarterback can get you the ball.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it will be very difficult for the quarterback here to get the ball out, let alone get it out accurately, let alone get it out to, you know, the, the a target who is almost certainly going to be covered by John to his Williams who has done a
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, I think KJDF will be the most dangerous receiver that USC has played yet, but it's, I just, the, the odds are so stacked against Rutgers here, especially if Anton Raymond is out like, that's and even just makes this even more Lopsided in terms of where USC could and should find an advantage.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I, I, I'm excited to see what Johnson's Williams can do.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: Like, this is going to be a very good test for him going up against KJ death, especially when you look later on down the schedule when you've got the carrying more at Oregon and you've got Jeremiah Smith at Ohio States and you know, you've got all the guys in the Anna has.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_03]: This is going to be a very great test for that because KJDF is in the same category as all those other guys.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not Jeremiah Smith, but that's because he's insane in a unicorn.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_03]: But this is going to be interesting to see what he can do.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_03]: And if you can get pressure on the quarterback no matter who it is, that just makes everything so much more difficult for Rutgers.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_03]: And I think the run rush defense will be interesting too, because
- 28:00[SPEAKER_03]: Can Alex van Simran and Gdavisary render Antoine Raymond in effective even if he does apply and that's going to be a big question.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_03]: If they do, then again, that's more pressure on the quarterbacks to get desperate want through the ball more getting past situations long distance, all those things and more pressure on those quarterbacks could mean to more interceptions because that's what they've done through two games or seven interceptions.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about the other side of the ball.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_03]: U.S. sees offense going up against this Rutgers defense.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: A Rutgers defense, which as bad as the offense has been, seven interceptions, you know, they struggle against UMass.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_03]: At least this Rutgers defense has been worse.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: It only gets worse.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: They get no good news for Rutgers.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_03]: 37 points to UMass.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_03]: 37 points to put this in perspective.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_03]: U.S. last year averaged 0.97 points per drive, 0.97.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_03]: They never got over 1.5 points per drive in any single game last season.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: They had 3.36 per drive in week 1 against Rutgers, more than double anything they did last year.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: Almost triple what they did last year in any of those games.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's the most minute men have had in a single game.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_03]: The most points for drive there had in a single game.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: Since an FBS opponent since 2018.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to point out to, I had meant to look up what you messed it in their second game.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: They're on a winning streak, by the way.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: Because they beat Sacred Heart, FCS Sacred Heart.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: And they put up as many points on them.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah 37 and 30 they're averaging 37 points per year.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: And they had fewer total yards again, Sacred Heart than they did against.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they had a heart for Sacred Heart.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_03]: They did have the heart in that name.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_03]: They went a little bit easier on them, I guess.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: Ruggers has one sack through two games.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_03]: You mass in Boston College last year.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_03]: We're both tied for 117th in Sax
- 30:18[SPEAKER_03]: the Rutgers defense, 130th in defensive pass or efficiency, 112th in rush defense, 110th in total defense, and then now rank 119th in FBI defense, despite a schedule that ranks 130 first in relative strength of opponent for offense is faced.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_03]: it's bad.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's bad.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: I, you know, the defense was rebuilt in the off season through the transfer portal of the 11 starters who started in week one against UMass six of them were incoming transfers defensive and Malachi Davis from Toledo.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_03]: Defensive Tackle Rondo Porter from AppState, Defensive End, Sakeu Chroma from Temple, Lionbacker, Sean Allison from Drake of FCS.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_03]: He was at their team on American at the FCS level, but still an incoming transfer.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: Ty Morris from Rice at Lionbacker as well, and Bradley Jones from the Citadel.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: When's the last time you saw a transfer from the Citadel?
- 31:21[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think I've ever seen one.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: I can't think of one.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_03]: But one is starting in the big 10, Bradley Jones, you know, like I said, a couple of minutes ago, there's a world in which Rutgers can hang around in this game, offensively and put up points because they've got two very good playmakers who can get the ball in their hands and do things and Tuan Raymond and KJ Doff.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_03]: I do not see a reason.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_03]: A football reason.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: Scary words to say, for a USC offense, the number one offense in the country and FBI to go into Piscad away and not do significant damage against the defense that got gashed by the worst offense in America, UMass.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_03]: USC, they best offense in America.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_03]: Statistically,
- 32:19[SPEAKER_03]: They should be able to put up points.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: If they can't, if USC's offense looks discombobulated, then start sounding the alarm bells about the road stuff.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: Because the only reason is, if this is like the reverse of Illinois where everyone on offense got food poisoning and also got their brain wiped and also got their talent stolen by the monster.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: I like Rutgers.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: I like Greg Siano as a head coach, um, but this, this Rutgers team, not, not as fine as so far through two games and this defense, um, real bad.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: What, what are your realistic expectations for the offense?
- 33:04[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I, I'm not going to sit here and say that they will score on every drive or any of those things.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_03]: They, they didn't score on every drive against the opponents
- 33:16[SPEAKER_03]: you can probably say have inferior defenses.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_03]: They do all things to Rutgers.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_02]: Very few offenses score on every drive.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's not real.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_03]: This is not realistic.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: There will be miscues.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: There will be a turnover if maybe there will be penalties.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: There will be that kind of thing.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: You just need to play a cleaner game than USC did against Louisiana because that was not super clean.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that, here's what I think.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think we also need to be realistic about what offense we will see in this game, because we have been seeing of an offense, this might be even more vanilla.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: This might be the most vanilla, because there's no way Lincoln Riley is going to give anything to Dan Lanning and the docs.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that's a good question, though, or a good begs the question, is that a proper word use of begs?
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think it is, and people use begs the question incorrectly, I think this does beg the
- 34:17[SPEAKER_03]: What does Lincoln Riley do about the Oregon game in terms of many of that?
- 34:23[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what would you consider vanilla for Oregon?
- 34:28[SPEAKER_03]: A like in preparation of the Oregon tape and everything?
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like does this worry you about a look ahead spot for S.C. because to me, I think we're talking about the football reasons on football reasons.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like the non football reasons for S.C. to struggle in this game, they are traveling across country 3000 plus miles.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_03]: They are playing a team who, I think is easy to overlook, given their struggle so far this season.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_03]: And they've got, for all intents and purposes, I'm sorry to UCLA at the moment.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_03]: But for all intents and purposes, the team that is the measuring stick team that USC as a program measures themselves up against right now at the moment in Oregon next week.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's all the non football reasons.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's, you know, it's the look ahead.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: Where's your head?
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: Where is your attention?
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: Where's your your thought process?
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: Are you going to sleep walk through this?
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: Are you going to be jet lag and sleep walking through this?
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: Are you going to get caught caught on the wears by a Rutgers team that we like we've been saying like.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_02]: they should be much better than they have been in these last two games, yes, you know, the you can get caught up thinking that like Rutgers is the worst team in FBS.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, sure, they might be, but realistically, they should not be as bad as they were in those last two games, and they could always have with a big opponent in front of them, they could always have, you know, that, let's be, let's go be Oklahoma State and catch the Trojans on a wares, the way that Oklahoma State did with, with Oregon.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: So you always have to, you always have to be ready for this kind of game.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: I just would be incredibly disappointed if USC even with those factors that might dip the play beyond perfection.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: If USC isn't prepared and capable of winning this game even if they're keeping things very simple and running of an aloft and not throwing a bunch of
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: Not throwing a bunch of blitzes or exotic coverages or anything like that at them, not doing anything but very basic run concepts and basic past concepts and all of that kind of like, the universe is also true though.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_03]: The inverse is also true though.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: But they could also try to show Oregon stuff that they don't like, they could try to put stuff on tape for Oregon to have to prepare for that they have no intention.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: So there's always a chess game there, but I don't know how much we're going to see about that.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that the thing here is you're always judged by what you did last.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: And so as much as you can sit here and say that like,
- 37:11[SPEAKER_03]: You know, laying an egg and still winning a clunker against Rutgers is a red flag.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_03]: That means nothing if you go out and beat Rutgers to follow me to wake.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so realistically, this is a get the win, get out of town.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: Be as healthy as possible.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_03]: Get ready for Oregon next week.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_03]: But you cannot, you cannot, like, have too much of the mentality and overlook Rutgers at all, you can't do that.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: Insane Sports 6 says, wouldn't surprise me if this Rutgers game is a repeat of the Purdue game from last year.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: I can see that.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's very possible.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_02]: And in that, the Purdue game was,
- 37:48[SPEAKER_03]: Never truly endowed, but I got a little squirrely.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: Not truly endowed.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_02]: Not a great performance from USC.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Not something to hang your hat.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even go towards.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and we checked the weather?
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: I have not checked the weather, but that's a good question.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: Because every weekend so far, we've been having to write thunderstorm delay posts.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_03]: At least it's going to rain this weekend.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, buddy.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_03]: On Sunday.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_03]: That's out.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_03]: OK. Saturday, 71 degrees, partly sunny.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: OK.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, a thunderstorm could always roll in and make things interesting, but yeah, good.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_03]: It definitely could.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_03]: But before we get to over into though, we got to get to a super chat that we got from MB Trojan Surgeon, hip-o character spins around his chair, arms fling up in the air.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_03]: This is after MB Trojan Surgeon said, we should smoke him like a palm all.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_03]: I see there's a lot of references in here.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not getting I looked.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: I tried to look up this reference.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think I recognize the hippo spinning and flinging his arm up.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I couldn't like place like where do I know that from?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm on the palm all thing is over my head.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much for this.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: He was very much appreciate.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate if you go just pop back into the chat and explain the joke.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to make you explain the joke.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: But.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like this was not in my wheelhouse.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_03]: But thank you.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate it.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_04]: take your going over.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm doing bold, giving that over.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going, I've got to take it under here.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_04]: I've got three under to take.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to do an under here.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: If you're watching us on YouTube, we're going to throw the link in the chat, also if you're listening to us on a tour of a C.C.S.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: Paul Mallseger.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: No, I got that part.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_03]: I got that part.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: But it was it related to the hippo?
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: Or was this it just happened that that they said palm also grew like spoken like palm all and then also made another reference that we don't understand.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_03]: or maybe we're young.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: This can't confirm.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_03]: Can't confirm.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: Not that young.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_03]: A little bit hard, but anyways, the link to the over under is in the chat.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_03]: If you're watching us here on YouTube, click it, make your picks.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_03]: If you're listening to us, audio, only, of course, go to the show notes and get the link there as well.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_03]: All right, first one, what do you got?
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: 299.5 yards allowed by USC's defense.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: So this is total yards for Rutgers.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_02]: I bring this up, because I was curious to look at USC's home road splits in conference.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: And on defense, there is a pretty sizable
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: gap between between home and road.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: So last year against big 10 opponents, USC's defense allowed 312 yards per game at home.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: And on the road, they allowed 404 yards per game away.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: That road figure does include the 502 yards that they gave up to Illinois.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: But it also includes one of the lowest yards total of the season when they played Nebraska and give it to 86.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I think those sort of cancel each other out a little bit and we get closer to the 404 in terms of the yards that USC is giving up.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_03]: Not an input up a lot of yards too.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously different opponents certainly.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: The opponent levels aren't always even home and road and the like, but it's still a pretty pretty jarring figure.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: As we've established Rutgers isn't great on offense, but it's not like they haven't been putting up some yards.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: They had 346 and 384 yards in there in their two losses.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: And this season so far, it's not like USC, and obviously we can't necessarily, it's not hard to pull up the exact numbers on the ones versus the twos and threes, but in terms of total offense, which we're applying to the other team here, so we might as well apply it on USC side, USC is giving up 336, 116 and 358 yards in the three games this year.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I ask you, Michael, and the listeners, are we going to see USC's defense show that Gary Patterson is making a difference?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's sort of the way that I'm seeing it.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_03]: Two answers.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yes to that part.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: But over for the over under.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think that like,
- 42:56[SPEAKER_03]: Rutgers has talent at the skill positions.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_03]: There's a long touchdown in here.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like who knows, Rutgers could have 280 yards and then crux at 74-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter and then that gives him the over or whatever it is.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm taking the over, I just think 299 is a low number.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's a low number.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_03]: I know Rutgers has had their struggles, but like productivity, moving the ball is not been their issue.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_03]: Like you look at what the quarterbacks have done, but both of the quarterbacks had productive days for being like for having bad outings, 242 yards and 230 yards with five combined touchdowns.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_03]: is not terrible, and when you ignore all the interceptions, right?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: Let's say a couple of Lonergans interceptions were in the red zone.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like they've moved the ball, and so for an over-under involving total yards, give me the over-unwreckled wreckage total yards.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_02]: I can't explain it.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, they go under.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going under.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: I have, I don't know.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_02]: I have a weird,
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: I should have a weird pessimism about this game because it's my birthday weekend, and because it's a the road opener and all of that For for some reason, I don't know.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_02]: I just I feel called to take the under here.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think that USC's defensive front
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: could make life extremely miserable for whoever's back there.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_02]: And if that's the case, I could see them.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: Doing to to to Rutgers what they did to Fresno.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I could see both things happening.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_03]: For like I could see a game in which SC struggles to bottle up KJ tough.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_03]: He has a hundred and eighty seven yards receiving and Rutgers scores 34 and SC wins some wild game 48 34 or something like that.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_03]: And then I could see a game in which Rutgers scores six points because G-Day and Wafel and Ben Sumeran just and Cam Crawford all like get home and make the place.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think that what we will see here is the importance of the first quarter.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think Rutgers might be, like if you give Rutgers a little bit of life, a flicker of life in that first quarter, we could see them start to build some momentum.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: If USC's defense plays as well in this first quarter as they have mostly the season.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_03]: I could see that being extremely demoralizing there is there's a world it's hard to to know the dynamics of a locker room and stuff like that there is a world in which Rutgers is on the verge of checking out.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's also a world in which they're on the verge of like lock and back in like yeah, you know, like yeah, both things.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_03]: All of those things are speculative, but but no, I get you that like you land an early punch on offense and defense and yeah, there's a world that Rutgers capitulates and gets down on themselves has confidence issues and all those things.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's human nature.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, that's something to think about.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_03]: My first over under.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to do you want to share what your first over under was going to be until the news dropped this night?
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: It was trip mostly all purpose yards guys.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_02]: I sent him a text from the other room saying, Hey, you got to change your over under and he sent back a question mark.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then I felt like a bad person to ruin his night because he hadn't seen yet.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you everybody in the chat for my birthday wishes, by the way, Josh says happy 21st birthday.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_03]: Over under one and a half Rutgers first downs via penalty on 3rd or 4th down.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_03]: It's mighty specific, but I think it's very self-explanatory.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_03]: how many gifted first downs is Rutgers going to get because of a U.S.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_03]: He penalty over under one and a half U.S.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_03]: He gave two away to Louisiana.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_03]: We could go a face mask on third nine and a rough in the kick around fourth and nine.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_03]: That one literally put points on the board because Louisiana missed a field goal and then ultimately scored touchdown a couple place later.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 47:48[SPEAKER_03]: There was one the SC had against Fresno State, which was the defensive holding on 3rd and 5th, but yeah, over under one and a half USC penalties on 3rd or 4th down that result in a Rutgers first down.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_03]: or it's about to end or may have ended.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_03]: Well, any of those things, and they get gifted a first down because of some penalty.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_02]: My brain is screaming over, but again, I don't know, maybe it's birthday optimists.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_02]: I actually think this is a case of optimistically, so I'm taking the under.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: I could see it happening once.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that I would bet on it being twice.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_03]: This is Rutgers.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_03]: which means loose from New York, George Costanza.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_03]: So I will do the opposite and take the over.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, last week we talked about it.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_03]: The, all the other, over underpacks.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_03]: If you made, took the USC Homer pick on everything, you would have gone over six.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you did, yeah.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm taking the over.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_03]: Taking the over, we will see what happens.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_03]: What's your next over under?
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: 4.99 that's yards per carry for U.S.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_02]: He running backs.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: U.S. the average 5.15 yards per carry last year.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: This year they're only at 4.43.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_02]: Only one of the games so far this season if they've been above five.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_02]: That was Louisiana 5.35.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: Rutgers run defense hasn't been terrible.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: They've allowed 4.79 yards per carry this this year so far.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, that's not good.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's not good, but it's not like it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not five for, you know, based on the way they've been losing games, you know, you could see it happening.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, will we see USC's run game that Michael has already
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I have a lot of confidence in SES offense.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_03]: Again, maybe it's due because there's a lot of non football reasons for why SES could struggle on Saturday.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_03]: There's no football reason.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of non football reasons, but I'm taking the over on the run.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_03]: My thought is SES gonna Rutgers will have to be mindful
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Troba Vass 4.790 against who, that's their average across the season, um, UMass and Boston College.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and in each game is 4.88 and 4.69.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 50:54[SPEAKER_02]: true average.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: I am actually going to take the under here as the misdicolicia is out in full force and there's a good reason for that because I think US is going to run the ball a lot in this game.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that the more USC runs the less light like the more average.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: You will see the average drop.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_02]: So it's possible U.S. he breaks off a couple of big runs and sort of screws this up for me.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_03]: They're due for them.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_02]: They are due.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: But Bob says that was rhetorical.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_02]: Michael picked up on that.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm dumb.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: Where's that dummy sticker?
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: I need to put it back on before.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: I will feel like a dummy if USC does go over on this because I don't make me happy if USC does, but I do think that we will see a lot of running in this game.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: We will see USC trying to take the clock out of the game and yeah, so I'll take that under.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I think that that's it's solely valid solely valid.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_03]: I will say when I when I looked up when when.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_03]: When we're doing research on these teams, there's a few websites we use.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_03]: The NCAA ranking is pages great because you can get to see, it's just a list of rankings for everything.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_03]: So you see that Rutgers is 15th in this and third in the Big 10 in that or whatever it is, right?
- 52:19[SPEAKER_03]: That's helpful, but sometimes there's things that just don't find, you don't find on normal status pages, so you have to look up like weird splits and things, weird specific things.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_03]: So I always go to like, okay, long yards from skimage plays, like long plays that they've given up.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_03]: They've given up a bunch of 10 yard plays, but not a lot of 20s.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_02]: And so, So you and C's problem.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so like I, to your point about like the big long run, they haven't been giving up a lot of those big long runs.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_03]: So, means maybe they're due, maybe they're due just like I see it's due to get one.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: All right, my second overunder for you is over under one and a half.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_03]: Rutgers interceptions.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_03]: Again, they have thrown seven.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_03]: So far, the season through two games.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_03]: They're averaging in 3.5 per game.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_03]: Flipside.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_03]: SC is forced one.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_03]: Just one all season as profit brown intercepting jade and mandal of Fresno State in week one game two.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_03]: But John to his Williams nearly got a interception last week so so nearly in his minutes he just he was he was he was trying to run and catch the ball and he could not do both.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's see you.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very torn on this.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_02]: because the Rutgers quarterbacks have been so, so very willing to throw turnovers to throw in herceptions.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_03]: They're doing that be terrible.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_03]: That's what scares me.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like after throwing that many intersections the week before.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: with both court of act to do the struggle without still throwing seven interceptions through to get you know yeah yeah like like will they come in and see where the other teams have had success against USC which is just getting the ball out as quickly as possible and negating the um and my close given a little peek of of of his card uh so i'll just go ahead and and do it because i'm i'm feeling under
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm feeling over.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_02]: I've been I've been feeling under the weather and I'm just keeping the underscowing.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just because like again, maybe they'll just having thrown so many before.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: Can they possibly keep throwing that many?
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with Joe Bob the past rush causes interceptions for sure.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: But USC's past rush has been immense and they have only forced one interceptions so far this year.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_03]: So I will say.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_03]: The past rush has not gotten home reliably, but that means they've been disruptive.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_03]: It could mean more.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_03]: First, look more hastily, hastily thrown passes.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_03]: And all those things, I was torn on what the where to put the line.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_03]: I put it at one and a half because it just seemed more realistic.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_03]: Two and a half would seem like that's just a lot.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_03]: To put the over three seems excessive, even if they've thrown more than three in at least three in the first two weeks.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_03]: But if it was two and a half, this is an under for me at one and a half, I'm willing to to get risk it risky for the biscuit here risk it for the biscuit.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_03]: And go over.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_03]: So, I'll show you last one.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: Um, USC had one game last year where they forced three interceptions, and that was against Purdue by those.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say it wasn't a Purdue.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_03]: You know, go one of those.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was, uh, fish up for Cheryl two and judge here at one.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, that was not the judge here at pick six.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then the year before there was only one three interception game and that was against Penn State.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I think 2.5 would have just one of those is on a Hail Mary.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just too high.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's just too high.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_03]: Our friend Nick Struck, who works over at the NFL, he's awesome, his content's great, but like we were in a discussion the other day of like,
- 56:39[SPEAKER_03]: Unarmed interceptions needs to be a stacked.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_02]: Be specifically, I think you guys were discussing the text, the text, the text, the interception where there's a screen shot of the Texas receiver that's on this side of the screen and the Ohio State defender is like here and it's an overhead shot and it's like this play ended in interception.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_03]: And like realistically,
- 57:04[SPEAKER_03]: It is insane that that is an interception for archmany.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_03]: Like we need earned and un-earned interceptions like earned and un-earned runs in baseball.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_03]: And to me, Hail Mary interceptions are un-earned also.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_03]: Like when you throw a Hail Mary, you don't like obviously want it to caught.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_03]: But like if it's intercepted, there's no risks to that.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_03]: Like who cares?
- 57:27[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think Hail Mary interceptions should count.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, that's beside the point.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: We agree.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_02]: Mark says watch way full get three sacks to set to catch up with this over under he missed the last three games.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, here's what I will say.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think it is guaranteed lock.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_02]: that lukewarm gets a sack this week because my third over under is not the lukewarm wild sack given up or under.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that I've given up in the number of jinx of many.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_02]: I refuse to take I refuse to take anything but the over and I just need to stop myself from falling into this trap.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going with somebody else 3.5 Zacharias Williams
- 58:19[SPEAKER_02]: Trent Mosley will be out.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_02]: He has had seven cap Michael is already holding up.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_03]: This is the quickest under of head.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, let me get through this.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_02]: So he had seven catches this season.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_02]: He has a three against San Jose state, three against Fresno and one against Louisiana.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_02]: Trent Mosley is out, which means we, I think we need to expect to see more of Zacharias Williams, who is somebody that they seem to be comfortable with.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: in that slot role, playing basically tight end, will we see the dispersion of targets and catches from what Trent Mosley would normally get?
- 58:54[SPEAKER_02]: Give Zach Williams a little bit of a bit of a boost and see him get over three.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_03]: I certainly possible would not be surprised.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think it would be great if that was the case.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_03]: KDW exists to Roland Anderson is looking for balls.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_03]: He's not listed on the injury report at all.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_03]: To neck hines, not listed on the injury report at all.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_03]: He's looking for some some ball store on his way.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_03]: There's a guy named Mark Bowman who might benefit.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_03]: Also, I last week, we saw a bit of the splitbacks formations with Wormley and Austin in these splitbacks.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_03]: And there was like a swing pass that was ran for one of those.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's another opportunity for a pass play that, you know, diverts away from maybe a Trent mostly target.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's too many options to say
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_03]: Zacharias Williams will be the benefactor.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think the benefactor is everybody else.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like everybody, including Zacharias Williams, but like I don't think he's the lone benefactor to Trent Mosley not being in there, especially when we saw Zacharias Williams a couple of weeks ago, essentially plain tiny head, you know?
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't, I don't, I, I, I, I, I think you can still get three catches, but that's still, still under everyone in the chat is saying under.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_02]: All of my answers so far have been under.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_03]: You go, are you going to keep doing it?
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going under.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_03]: We agree.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_03]: We agree.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_03]: I don't.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_02]: We agree.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_03]: All right, my last one.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_03]: Over under.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_03]: One hundred and sixty four and a half.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_03]: Jade and my obo's passer rating.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_03]: Rutgers 130th in passer rating against allowing 164.5.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_03]: So that's where the line is.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_03]: Will they, will my obo go over their season average thus far?
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_03]: On the surface, you go, yeah, because S.C.'s pass offense better than UMass and Boston College, yes, obvious, yes.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_03]: However,
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_03]: counterpoint last season, Jayden Mayov at home, 186.7 on the road, 131.0.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_03]: Again, it was mentioned in the chat earlier that like their the home road splits in terms of difficulty existed last season.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_03]: The Nebraska game was very difficult.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_03]: Their past defense was very good last year and that game was on the
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_03]: However, that's still a big road split.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_03]: So can he split the difference in match Rutgers season average of 164 and a half?
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think that it's a reasonable line to put there.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_03]: 164 and a half for Jane Mayabba's patch of ready.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_03]: He's been way over that in all three games so far.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_02]: All of my previous answers have been unders.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, are you in stick with what going over, baby?
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I, I, I looked ahead and thought to myself, like, could I just do a full line of unders, and I got to this one, and I was like, oh, no, I don't know about that.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: I, I think that Rutgers would need to suddenly grow an immensely effective pass rush.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_02]: turn into first half of the, uh, who's that bowl game against, um, Texas.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember bowl games, uh, uh, just like we would have to see the worst of Jade Myola for him not to end up with a pretty pretty good passer rating here.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_03]: So I am torn.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_03]: Because like I agree with you, like logic says easy over.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_03]: But we know that, did man, I haven't had it in his bag to have a struggle bus game.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_03]: Even in games, they would chance success.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_03]: Like the SRS distribution Las Vegas Bowl against the XZNM, prime example, terrible first, what, 50 minutes of that game?
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_03]: Great last 10 minutes.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't have an in front of me, but I'm pretty sure his pastor ready was way under 164.5.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_03]: uh... is passer rating it's fascinating when he throws the perception one third one thirty point four one in that game like that's a prime example of he can be productive at the end of the day he can be productive and still have you know interceptions away from home and those things cost him and passer reading it for due was one forty five point three one
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and then I think the other thing is he threw one in a section last week, should have thrown two.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the touchdown pass to Cain Dixon Wyatt went right through a dude's hands.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_03]: That was picked.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, that was picked.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_03]: For all, hence and purpose is should have been picked.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_03]: So, I.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_03]: or shuffling.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's doing a random draw.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_03]: Got the over over.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_03]: We're doing over don't feel good about it.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't feel good about it under either though.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's going to be like pretty close.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_03]: There's an interception this game for for my.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_03]: I will say that.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_03]: There's an interception.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_03]: There's a mistake.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_03]: I like we're going to get to predictions right now, but like I'm curious when you when you do your prediction, explain the five you're thinking about for this game, because I've got thoughts, they get spread USC by 23 and a half FBI projection USC by 27 at least you what is your score projection for USC and Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_02]: Some of my colleagues have fanciting.com are doing against the spread predictions for every game of every week in a college football.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: Go check them out on panciting.com.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_02]: They've been really good so far by the way.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_02]: They've they've done extremely well doing that doing these picks.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: We were talking this this week and talking about like,
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_02]: their picks and and what difficult games they were to pick or whatever and what big spreads were like scary or whatever and I and I and I and I told them here's the thing you need a lock you need a lock you got to take
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_02]: never beats teams the way that they should.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's always just like if if it's a good game, then it's still just like a meh game.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: So if USC is favored by by 23 and a half, I'm giving those points to Rutgers, but I still think it'll be a good game for USC like
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_02]: I've got USC 35 Rutgers 14, so it's still 21.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's still 21.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_02]: Point win.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to be a 24 point.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_03]: If you're offered that right now, you take that immediately.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_03]: You take that immediately.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_03]: 35 14 on the road to Rutgers, even though you don't cover, yeah, I think you take that.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_03]: Um, okay.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_03]: I have gone back and forth on a million different thoughts here worst case scenario the No football reasons Rutgers has no football reason to do anything in this game, but it's a road game.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_03]: Jane Malava can struggle on the road Rutgers just when you think they're out, they pull you back in all those kind of things.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_03]: They have star players on offense with Antoine Raymond and K.J.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_03]: Duff.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_03]: Worst case scenario, this is 2023 cow, where like a shootout that comes out of nowhere that has no business being the shootout, but SC escapes.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't actually think that's going to be so depressing.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_03]: It would be awful.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_03]: No, I have a see when in this game 4520, SE wins SE covers.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's not beautiful.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_02]: There are moments where we about those 20 points.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think two men, okay.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think maybe you're more mad about the 45, not being higher.
- 1:07:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think there will be, I would not be surprised
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_03]: There's like, I think this is gonna be a little bit sloppy on both sides, 45, 20 is my prediction.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_03]: If this game was at the Coliseum?
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_03]: 52, 17, it's not the Coliseum, so 45, 20.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if it was the Coliseum, I do, 55, three.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's full blown cross country travel.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_02]: We saw the last time Rutgers had the cross country travel to play USC.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_02]: So this is true.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_02]: This game will be at a normal time of day as opposed to having Rutgers played 11 Eastern.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_02]: But.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_03]: Ronald Murray in the Texas 35 10 and then responds again 35 10 S C. We were concerned with that.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_03]: In St. Sports takes is 38 10 Trojans.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, get your predictions, put them in the comments.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_03]: Sound off, give us your thoughts as always.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_03]: Call in the right line as well.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_03]: 8 when 8 6 4 3 7 2 2 7 during the game.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_03]: And let us know your thoughts.
- 1:09:00[SPEAKER_03]: there, uh, Alicia, let's get to the mail bag and wrap this thing up.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_03]: You've got mail.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_02]: Which by the way, before we start, um, I think Randy said he is sent us an email last episode.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_03]: We've not gotten that.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_03]: We have not gotten it.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: So, you can try sending it again.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, try sending it again, Randy.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_03]: I look like two different times.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_03]: So, so the way our email
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_03]: So our email goes to one of our colleagues and one of our colleagues forwards that email to us.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_03]: And so, which can be annoying.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_03]: But, like, logistically, it's just the way it works.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_04]: And it all works and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_03]: It's, we're not complaining.
- 1:09:50[SPEAKER_03]: But there's a world in which you get lost.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_03]: There's a world in which our email is difficult to spell,
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_03]: could be the case because I misspell everything.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_03]: So, could be that.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have a lot here in the mailback, at least you.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_03]: So, I wanted to go to our YouTube comments that we got from the last episode, because I thought there was some interesting things in there, pulling it up right now because it didn't have it already prepared.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_03]: All right, scourge 77, two points.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_03]: This is about, uh, Joaquim Stewart, one best availability is availability and two.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's on the coaches to develop these players to continually play in the competitive big ten when there are issues against lower quality opponents.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_03]: They are unfortunately going to be amplified against tougher teams.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's 100% true.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I think what could make a difference here is that they are potentially playing players.
- 1:11:03[SPEAKER_02]: They know aren't ready for big 10 play in these games.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_02]: Try and get them reps and try and get tape on to show them where they're going wrong or what they need to fix and that they won't necessarily be players that they intend to use once you start playing the
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_02]: We'll like we said in that episode like we will see what the rotation looks like and it could be USC keeps a wide rotation for this game, but it is a travel squad and I do expect them to shrink a lot.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_03]: In the chat, by the way, I miss this trobob as he says, S.A. 52 Rutgers 13, it says, reverting to the peak here, or a trobob, a bad thing to mention, bad thing to mention.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_03]: There's a wreck, there's a wreck.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in danger.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_03]: Peacarol loses this game.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_02]: The the reason that the reason that I am so that I feel like my birthday is cursed from a sports perspective is because of Peacarol and the Peacarol era because my birthday is in late September and what is late September?
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_02]: Pactual road opener or big 10 road opener.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_02]: Now
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_02]: a hiccup game for USC.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_02]: Pactual road openers were never fun.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_02]: And it always felt like they were just like, well, intent on ruining my birthday.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_03]: 2002, it's Washington State 2003.
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_03]: It's cow 2000 and 60 Oregon game wasn't the road opener.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_03]: But oh seven.
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_03]: What's lost is the no seven are Stanford and or not Oregon state neither one of those were wrote over to the state or say was the road opener.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_03]: 2009
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't that Washington?
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:12:57[SPEAKER_03]: This is Washington wrote up in our air in the air in corp gear.
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_03]: So Washington that was winless the season before.
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_03]: So like, yeah, this is the game he Carol loses.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_03]: So I hear you, the 50, 15, 15, 13 win feels like the B. Carol era.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, this is the game that's scary, the peak parallel era.
- 1:13:24[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about last week with the worst SC loss.
- 1:13:27[SPEAKER_03]: B. Bosch 55 chimed in the comments after the last episode that Oregon State 2008.
- 1:13:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_02]: That one is especially annoying because it's literally the difference between the national title and not because you cannot convince me that USC was not going to go on to win a national title that year if they played in in the time I don't know why that just because 2008 was a year, which they were a lot of really good teams I know but I still I think I see was the best team in the country, but like there's also
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_03]: Florida was really good.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_03]: Oklahoma is really good.
- 1:14:03[SPEAKER_03]: You tell us really like they were a lot of really good teams here.
- 1:14:06[SPEAKER_02]: I still take you as these defense and Pete Carroll, but I'm just a team like I don't think it's a foregone conclusion like like 2006 was this is also one of the reasons why like I know everyone complains about the playoff and all this kind of stuff and how like oh losses don't matter when don't matter or whatever but like a system where a singular loss in the early stages of a season
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_02]: makes you unable to participate or compete for a national title is a bad system.
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_02]: A system where Ohio State goes to Texas and plays a road game and loses and that basically ends their season is a bad system.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_02]: It is better to have the teams be able to put together a full resume and then we get a full look at who actually deserves to be there and who doesn't.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then
- 1:15:03[SPEAKER_02]: Who is the fourth or fifth or second or any best teams in the country?
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_02]: And then it turns out that the eighth best team is the country is the one that wins the game.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_02]: The ones that wins the game.
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Oregon State game hurts because it was such a good team that defensive so good and all that stuff.
- 1:15:19[SPEAKER_03]: Or all the reasons you said, I will say that was a really good Oregon State team.
- 1:15:26[SPEAKER_03]: That was a really good Oregon State performance.
- 1:15:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's not the same.
- 1:15:31[SPEAKER_03]: as losing to UCLA in 2006, which was completely inexcusable, because that was not a good UCLA team.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_03]: And UCLA scored 13 points in that game.
- 1:15:42[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_03]: To me, that one is worse because of that.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_03]: It hurts less because
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that game costs us a national championship, too.
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_03]: So, and more directly in a lot of ways.
- 1:15:56[SPEAKER_03]: So, but you know what I mean?
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you don't have to do the what if about that game, in the sense that I see was absolutely winning national championship in 2016.
- 1:16:05[SPEAKER_03]: If they win that game, I don't think there is a what if about 2008 because you feel like the defense never got the opportunity.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_03]: In 2006, it's like they screwed their opportunity up by
- 1:16:20[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, uh, and there's other things we got in the chat before we wrap this up, Joseph says Michael I've never seen you without a hat and I only listen on apple podcasts liar.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_02]: You're watching us now.
- 1:16:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the the chat has been from the very beginning to bigger more breaking news trying to forget Trent mostly, but the the the the biggest breaking news of this episode was Michael not wearing a hat.
- 1:16:46[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_03]: And I told you, do you think I look like Dan Lannie and all of a sudden?
- 1:16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I simply do not see it.
- 1:16:52[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see it?
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_03]: I don't see it.
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.
- 1:16:55[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_03]: Ask me about Dante more.
- 1:16:58[SPEAKER_03]: Not talking in the media.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_03]: Go.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_02]: Why didn't Dante more talk to the media?
- 1:17:04[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_03]: I see it.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_03]: You got a knife.
- 1:17:06[SPEAKER_03]: You got an IV?
- 1:17:08[SPEAKER_03]: Are you going to talk to him tomorrow?
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_03]: You want to ask him a question?
- 1:17:11[SPEAKER_03]: Ask him tomorrow.
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I can see you see it now.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_03]: I see it now.
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:17:19[SPEAKER_03]: Now tell me it's it's fourth and six at my own 32.
- 1:17:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's fourth and six is your own 32.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Dan, what are you going to do?
- 1:17:25[SPEAKER_03]: We're going for Mark says whoa Michael has hair ranny from from redlands has no hats.
- 1:17:45[SPEAKER_02]: Do I tell the reason why I think you tell the reason why you tell the reason why because it involves characters that people on this podcast love to hear about yes, but it's also like
- 1:17:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell the people that one of Michael's hats was on the floor and on the floor means being in range of the fur balls that are our two dogs and so the hat, he picked it up and it was literally covered in mostly to my eye, badger fur, but I also could have in Jesse for who knows.
- 1:18:21[SPEAKER_02]: So he got a lit roller to try and like roll it off and then the lit roller, we couldn't find the little seam to like pull the lit roller.
- 1:18:29[SPEAKER_03]: Always the worst part of that roller.
- 1:18:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then and then he was sort of trying to do it and then he realized that the inside of it was covered in air.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_03]: It literally looked like one of those daily crocket hats.
- 1:18:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_03]: And I thought I made a joke like, what if I just wore it like that and like, oh, no, that's horror.
- 1:18:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:18:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine the comments then basically what I think happened is one or both of the dogs laid on that had at some point, while it was under your desk.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_03]: So in the words, it needs to be thoroughly, thoroughly clamped.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_02]: And he never wears the same hat twice on, oh, he tries not to wear the same hat twice on the on the show.
- 1:19:09[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 1:19:11[SPEAKER_03]: You know, so there we go.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_03]: That was the selected hat and we were, uh, didn't have time to do it.
- 1:19:17[SPEAKER_02]: And we think some of his hats haven't made it into the into the studio or with the move.
- 1:19:24[SPEAKER_02]: There somewhere.
- 1:19:25[SPEAKER_02]: We've got boxes.
- 1:19:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:19:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:19:27[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know,
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Roman already says that the Jesse and Badger eat what no, they just left themselves on it.
- 1:19:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that sounds crazy.
- 1:19:40[SPEAKER_03]: All right, let's wrap it up there.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_03]: We will be back on Saturday night.
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_03]: Saturday afternoon, Saturday afternoon.
- 1:19:49[SPEAKER_03]: Game is at 12 30, which means we'll be probably on like about four o'clock Pacific, right after the game talking SC and Rutgers.
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_03]: As always, give us your calls during the game.
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_03]: No one does, but maybe you will.
- 1:20:05[SPEAKER_03]: Eight when eight six or three seven to do seven.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't say the lack of calls in the right line is because
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not on Twitter anymore.
- 1:20:15[SPEAKER_03]: Doing live tweets of the game.
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't put out the number anymore.
- 1:20:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like something happens.
- 1:20:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, call in now.
- 1:20:22[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts, blah, blah.
- 1:20:24[SPEAKER_02]: I can put those out there.
- 1:20:26[SPEAKER_02]: You could.
- 1:20:27[SPEAKER_03]: If you remind me, then you might put up the old number.
- 1:20:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's entirely possible.
- 1:20:33[SPEAKER_02]: So you need to remind me to put in the new number.
- 1:20:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:20:38[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, how about you craft the tweet for me and then text it to me and then I will paste that into Twitter to be fair I've been She's been needing to call her mom for four days now and has not done that so she isn't called her mom She's not gonna tweet out the phone number.
- 1:20:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'll turn off the phone number link.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_02]: You gonna call your mom.
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah If your mom's watching this call you'd utter
- 1:21:04[SPEAKER_03]: All right, we will we will see you next time until then.
- 1:21:07[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see you.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_02]: See ya.
- 1:21:09[SPEAKER_02]: See ya.
