- 0:02Speaker 1: Breaking news. This just in all right here on one
- 0:08Speaker 1: leg up Alex Media. For all of you that say
- 0:12Speaker 1: f the cops and we don't need cops and defund
- 0:14Speaker 1: the police, well then you try and stop IEDs in
- 0:19Speaker 1: the middle of a protesting Mayhem scuffle. You go in
- 0:26Speaker 1: there and end the threat to people's lives, you low
- 0:30Speaker 1: lives who say defund the police, because not one of
- 0:33Speaker 1: you that does defund the police would be able to
- 0:36Speaker 1: do what hero cops did yesterday in New York. None
- 0:41Speaker 1: of you who out there who say defund the police
- 0:44Speaker 1: would have been able to end the threat of real
- 0:51Speaker 1: IEDs thrown at sure, anti mo'm donnie, anti Islam protesters,
- 1:01Speaker 1: but people. Nonetheless, isis inspired attack that the NYPD bravely thwarted,
- 1:17Speaker 1: but terror on our streets. And I had only gotten
- 1:23Speaker 1: word about this a couple of days or so ago.
- 1:27Speaker 1: IED's found outside Mayor's you know, Gracie mansion. I'm like,
- 1:32Speaker 1: what is that? And then I didn't have a moment
- 1:34Speaker 1: to check it. But now the story is fully told.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I am thankful the cops were there to end the
- 1:42Speaker 1: threat and the two terrorists because I don't care if
- 1:48Speaker 1: they didn't go off or not. Thank got it didn't
- 1:50Speaker 1: go off out on outside Gracie Mansion. They were terrorists, nonetheless,
- 1:58Speaker 1: and it just it feels like providence that those devices
- 2:07Speaker 1: did not go off that then MYYPD was able to
- 2:11Speaker 1: catch it in time. But this is why we have
- 2:15Speaker 1: to stand with the cops more often than not. This
- 2:19Speaker 1: is why when people say defund the police, it just
- 2:22Speaker 1: it bothers me because to me, you know, people that
- 2:28Speaker 1: say that would not be able to jump on an
- 2:31Speaker 1: ied and into threat like that. Those officers risk their
- 2:35Speaker 1: lives this past weekend to keep us safe. And by
- 2:38Speaker 1: the way, they found more devices as they swept the
- 2:42Speaker 1: streets surrounding Gracie Mansion. And so what does this all mean? Well,
- 2:49Speaker 1: unfortunately Isis's damage is done. I mean, they have inspired
- 2:54Speaker 1: many more than we might realize, and we are every
- 2:57Speaker 1: right to be on alert, especially after we bomb are
- 3:00Speaker 1: in too. And I did think Trump eliminated ISIS, but
- 3:05Speaker 1: it looks like they've radicalized many more that I hope
- 3:12Speaker 1: I hope are found that this should inspire more leads
- 3:18Speaker 1: to get more of these ISIS inspired attackers. They had
- 3:22Speaker 1: said if this bombing happened, it would be bigger than
- 3:27Speaker 1: the Boston bombing. That's what Jessica Tish said, That's what
- 3:30Speaker 1: others have said. That's what others have said. You can
- 3:34Speaker 1: disagree with people, but not in this way of throwing
- 3:40Speaker 1: IEDs in their camps, in their protesting camps. I want
- 3:45Speaker 1: to play you what the mayor did say, because I
- 3:48Speaker 1: actually thought he was very sincere. I understand his statement
- 3:51Speaker 1: at first was very non mentioning of the terrorist aspects,
- 3:56Speaker 1: but today, in in front of the media, he said
- 3:59Speaker 1: the right thing. I gotta play that for you.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I'm the first Muslim mayor of our city. Anti Muslim
- 4:05Speaker 2: bigotry is nothing new to me, nor is it anything
- 4:08Speaker 2: new for the one million or so Muslim New Yorkers
- 4:10Speaker 2: who know this city as our home. While I found
- 4:13Speaker 2: this protest appalling, I will not waver in my belief
- 4:17Speaker 2: that it should be allowed to happen. Ours is a
- 4:19Speaker 2: free society where the right to peaceful protest is sacred.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It does not belong only to those we agree with.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It belongs to everyone. I will defend that right every
- 4:30Speaker 2: day that I am mayor, even when those protesting say
- 4:32Speaker 2: things that I abhor. Let me also be clear about
- 4:35Speaker 2: something else. New York City will never tolerate violence, whether
- 4:40Speaker 2: from protests or counter protests. Many of the counter protesters
- 4:44Speaker 2: met this display of bigotry peacefully with a vision of
- 4:47Speaker 2: a city that is welcoming to all. But a few
- 4:51Speaker 2: did not. Two men, Amir Blat and Ibrahim Kayumi, traveled
- 4:56Speaker 2: from Pennsylvania and attempted to bring violence to New York.
- 5:01Speaker 2: They are suspected of coming here to commit an act
- 5:03Speaker 2: of terrorism. There is video of these two individuals throwing
- 5:07Speaker 2: two devices towards the protest. The police department has determined
- 5:11Speaker 2: that these were improvised explosive devices made to injure, maim,
- 5:15Speaker 2: or worse. Thanks to the swift and decisive actions of
- 5:19Speaker 2: NYPD officers at the scene, both men were immediately taken
- 5:23Speaker 2: into custody and the devices they brought taken off of
- 5:27Speaker 2: our streets. I want to commend the officers who were
- 5:30Speaker 2: on site. They faced a chaotic situation that very quickly
- 5:35Speaker 2: could have become far more dangerous. NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards
- 5:39Speaker 2: and Sergeant Luis Navarro ran towards the danger so that
- 5:43Speaker 2: others could run to safety. They are here with us now,
- 5:46Speaker 2: and I want to thank them today publicly as I
- 5:48Speaker 2: did yesterday privately and to thank the dozens of other
- 5:52Speaker 2: officers who responded without hesitation. That is courage, that is selflessness,
- 5:57Speaker 2: and I'm deeply grateful to both of them and to
- 6:00Speaker 2: every member of the NYPD who works every single day
- 6:04Speaker 2: to keep New Yorker safe.
- 6:05Speaker 1: We haven't had an attack since twenty seventeen, when that
- 6:11Speaker 1: also I believe ices inspired attack or mowed down all
- 6:14Speaker 1: those people right here on the West Side Highway. We
- 6:19Speaker 1: were promised ISIS was gone, that they were eliminated, that
- 6:22Speaker 1: the threat was demolished. But it's clear this weekend the
- 6:27Speaker 1: damage has been done and that others could be inspired
- 6:32Speaker 1: through videos, through YouTube. It's just there are means that
- 6:38Speaker 1: ISIS is going to get to people who want to
- 6:40Speaker 1: do harm. And so thank god these ID devices did
- 6:46Speaker 1: not go off. But I think as the city's on
- 6:49Speaker 1: high alert, cash Betel downing beers with the team, USA
- 6:56Speaker 1: should focus on now as always the threats of homegrown
- 7:04Speaker 1: of terrorism, homegrown or ISIS inspired. This is a wake
- 7:10Speaker 1: up call and I do believe this is a test
- 7:14Speaker 1: and mister Merrimum Donnie can truly condemn and a DA Bragg. Look,
- 7:24Speaker 1: this is coming out of a week when the when
- 7:26Speaker 1: the DA let those a holes that threw snowballs and
- 7:30Speaker 1: ice at cops go. So, of course there are people
- 7:35Speaker 1: in this city. There are terrorists in the city. There
- 7:38Speaker 1: are criminals in the city that think they can get
- 7:39Speaker 1: away with this ship. But they can't. But they cannot
- 7:48Speaker 1: and they must not. And these two better be given
- 7:54Speaker 1: the book thrown, the book thrown in jail. This was
- 7:59Speaker 1: a terror attack in the making. They are Isis inspired
- 8:05Speaker 1: and they need to be made an example of. So
- 8:09Speaker 1: mister mayor have your DA make an example of them,
- 8:15Speaker 1: or more chaos and mayhem will ensue. Maybe not because
- 8:20Speaker 1: you're causing it, because you're so lax about it. When
- 8:24Speaker 1: you say, oh, it's just a snowball fight, more criminals
- 8:27Speaker 1: are emboldened. That's where your mistake is here. And every
- 8:31Speaker 1: other time you downplay it until you have to truly
- 8:35Speaker 1: denounce it, and even your denunciations, your condemnations don't always
- 8:40Speaker 1: feel impactful enough. Just because bombs didn't go off, thank God,
- 8:47Speaker 1: doesn't mean it's not terror even though no one was killed.
- 8:50Speaker 1: It's a terror attack. That's what this is. An Isis
- 8:54Speaker 1: inspired terror attack, and these terrorists must be prosecuted and
- 9:01Speaker 1: treated as such. They aren't just kids throwing grenades. They're
- 9:07Speaker 1: actual terrorists. And if the police didn't step in, if
- 9:11Speaker 1: the NiPd did not step in, if those heroes did
- 9:14Speaker 1: not step in, there would be carnage on the Upper
- 9:18Speaker 1: East Side. So when you vote to defund the police,
- 9:23Speaker 1: you vote for carnage, is what I'm saying. When you
- 9:28Speaker 1: say defund the police, you want carnage. Well, I don't
- 9:32Speaker 1: want carnage here at one leg up Alex Media. I
- 9:36Speaker 1: want safety and security, and I want cops who are
- 9:49Speaker 1: not going to be afraid to jump in like those
- 9:51Speaker 1: cops that ended the threat did this past weekend the
- 10:00Speaker 1: alert and is to jump on those IEDs and end
- 10:03Speaker 1: the threat is bravery, is courage, and it's why we
- 10:12Speaker 1: call him the New York's Finest. So please, whenever you
- 10:24Speaker 1: think say defund the police, think of this moment. Think
- 10:29Speaker 1: of this moment right here, when the NYPD ended a
- 10:32Speaker 1: threat that could have ended up in carnage like the
- 10:39Speaker 1: Boston marathon. Suspect says he was affiliated with ISIS and
- 10:44Speaker 1: watched and watched propaganda on his phone. You see, week
- 10:50Speaker 1: after week we're getting these incidents, and that is our mayor,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Mum Donnie to cease and tell them to cease and desist,
- 10:59Speaker 1: that crime will not be welcome in New York City.
- 11:02Speaker 1: DA Bragg must tell these terrorists, tell those attackers of
- 11:07Speaker 1: the cops, crime is not welcome in the city, or
- 11:11Speaker 1: I'll run for office and say it so
