- 0:17Speaker 1: rich in life. And today we are joined by content creator,

- 0:26Speaker 2: You guys are so sweet. I'm so excited to be here.
- 0:28Speaker 3: We're so excited to have you on today.
- 0:30Speaker 1: But before we get into it, we like to start
- 0:32Speaker 1: with a life lesson of the week.
- 0:34Speaker 3: So, as our guest of honor, would you like to
- 0:36Speaker 3: kick us off?
- 0:36Speaker 1: So?
- 0:37Speaker 2: I got back from America like three days ago, and
- 0:40Speaker 2: what I have learned this week is that when you
- 0:43Speaker 2: get back from a vacation, you need a vacation at home.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Like it's it's a thing. I got home and I
- 0:47Speaker 2: was like, I'm going to get straight back into work.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You know, I've been rested for two weeks. I got
- 0:51Speaker 2: home and I'm like, I need to go. I need
- 0:52Speaker 2: to go have another vaca at home. It's a thing.
- 0:55Speaker 2: So that's my life lesson.
- 0:56Speaker 4: It's like how to come back the holiday blues?
- 0:58Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, yeah, completely because we actually put that on
- 1:01Speaker 1: our story when we came back from Europe.
- 1:03Speaker 3: We were like, we need.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Tips for the post holiday blues because we.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Know they're setting in. I was crying like the day
- 1:10Speaker 3: that we were leaving.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Before yeah, yeah, And the most common response was book
- 1:15Speaker 1: another holiday.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yes, yes, but after Yearpe. I was like, so that's
- 1:20Speaker 3: why I had loved too.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But yeah, but a domestic getaway that isn't too hard
- 1:26Speaker 1: on your bank account.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Even just at home, like a stay in Vaca, like work,
- 1:30Speaker 2: just relaxed, because like traveling can be so exhausting as
- 1:33Speaker 2: well at the same time that it is like so
- 1:35Speaker 2: much fun, like just at home, a little bit of Vaca,
- 1:38Speaker 2: a little bit of something in Australia, you.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Know, yes, totally romanticized the vibe. Yeah, I love it.
- 1:44Speaker 3: What about you?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Sal oh okay, So my life lesson of the week
- 1:48Speaker 1: is something that I stumbled across on TikTok shock I know,
- 1:52Speaker 1: and somebody was saying, you know how we send memes
- 1:56Speaker 1: to our friends, always send them like posts and stuff,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and be like, this reminded me of you. That is
- 2:02Speaker 1: called pebbling and it's like, you know, when penguins will
- 2:07Speaker 1: get a special little pebble and they like waddle over
- 2:10Speaker 1: and drop it off to their soulmate to be like,
- 2:12Speaker 1: this is a pebble, life fan, and I.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Brought it for you.
- 2:15Speaker 3: That is the equivalent for humans. How cute is.
- 2:19Speaker 1: That it's not sending memes and yeah, because it's like
- 2:23Speaker 1: I thought of you when I saw this, and it's like, yes,
- 2:27Speaker 1: of course, it's like silly, haha, goofy gird.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But really every.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Time somebody tags you in something or sends you a
- 2:34Speaker 1: meme or a TikTok and it's like, this.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Is so us. Yeah, that's them pebbling you. That's cute.
- 2:40Speaker 3: How cute?
- 2:40Speaker 2: Does that appreciate a meme so much more?
- 2:43Speaker 4: I'm not right?
- 2:44Speaker 2: So sweet?
- 2:45Speaker 3: What's your life lesson?
- 2:46Speaker 1: You know? The saying ask for forgiveness, not for permission,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I feel like I am. I think it works in
- 2:54Speaker 1: some ways, but I think I'm starting to transition a
- 2:57Speaker 1: little bit more towards like us for permission rather than
- 3:01Speaker 1: forgiveness more because I get.
- 3:05Speaker 4: I think this is like a people pleasing thing.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Though I never want to upset someone, Like my intention
- 3:11Speaker 1: is never to upset someone, which is why I think
- 3:14Speaker 1: it is a case by case thing, right, that it's like,
- 3:16Speaker 1: you do have to taste take risks and if there's
- 3:19Speaker 1: never an ill intention like then yes. But it's like,
- 3:23Speaker 1: for example, this is the weirdest example, but we got
- 3:28Speaker 1: a cameo from like our favorite TikToker. His name is
- 3:31Speaker 1: both m and he does a hello Fwiaky Princess.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Actually pay for it?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yes, can you make a video for our live show?
- 3:42Speaker 1: And anyway, it's linked by it exactly.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And he made it, and then I was like, oh shit,
- 3:48Speaker 2: do you have.
- 3:49Speaker 1: To like tell people that you're going to post their
- 3:51Speaker 1: cameo online?
- 3:53Speaker 4: I was like do.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I didn't know if that was in like terms or
- 3:55Speaker 1: conditions or something. And normally what I would do, I'd
- 3:58Speaker 1: be like, oh fuck it, I'll just post it and
- 4:00Speaker 1: they'll tell me if there's an issue. But then I
- 4:02Speaker 1: got worried and I was like, oh, but what if
- 4:04Speaker 1: they see and yeah, then I was like, do you
- 4:07Speaker 1: know what, I'm just going to send them a message
- 4:09Speaker 1: and just check. And I did that and they are
- 4:13Speaker 1: like the nicest person. I also didn't realize they were Australian, yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 1: which was wild. But then like then, going from that
- 4:20Speaker 1: through that experience of posting it, I'm like Okay, cool.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I've got nothing in the back of my head being like,
- 4:25Speaker 1: oh what if this, what if I'm not supposed to
- 4:28Speaker 1: do this or what if Like yeah, you know this
- 4:30Speaker 1: is going to upset someone, But then I get to
- 4:32Speaker 1: go through the experience actually being able to enjoy whatever
- 4:36Speaker 1: that is.
- 4:37Speaker 4: So I do think it's a case by case thing.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a time and place.
- 4:41Speaker 1: But I'm like, if there is that like seed of
- 4:43Speaker 1: anxiety or anything that would actually take away from like
- 4:46Speaker 1: the joy of an activity, I think sending a message
- 4:50Speaker 1: or doing like the thing that takes five minutes to
- 4:52Speaker 1: like get rid of that is actually going to help
- 4:56Speaker 1: you rather than because then like in the Virgin like oh,
- 4:59Speaker 1: it's not that big a deal, and then you're asking
- 5:00Speaker 1: forgiveness and then you've got to go through conflict, whereas
- 5:02Speaker 1: this way and do you know what the other thing?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Sorry she's jumping, But people like to feel like they
- 5:09Speaker 1: had a bit of control in something, or they like
- 5:12Speaker 1: just even being asked or they like that. So I
- 5:14Speaker 1: feel like more often than not, when you ask someone something,
- 5:16Speaker 1: they'll always give a positive reaction rather than if you
- 5:19Speaker 1: didn't include them in the conversation.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just been considerate. Yeah, I like that.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I never thought about it like that.
- 5:25Speaker 3: That's really good. Okay, Okay, let's get into the episode
- 5:27Speaker 3: to do it.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So we've got your on, Brady, because we're talking about
- 5:35Speaker 1: how to set yourself up for success in your twenty
- 5:37Speaker 1: years and who better to have on to talk about this.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Because you're twenty three, right, yeah, point of you.
- 5:47Speaker 3: It feels like a personal attack. I would say, like.
- 5:49Speaker 1: To be going through the topics that we're going through,
- 5:51Speaker 1: that is incredible, That is incredibly impressive.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I can't wait to like.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Tap into all your knowledge because to be twenty three
- 5:58Speaker 1: and you know, have your own brand and your own
- 6:02Speaker 1: property and be working on doing that up. And also
- 6:04Speaker 1: like from you know, your media and your personality on
- 6:08Speaker 1: social media, an amazing person with amazing people around you.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Like I'm sure there's highers and loads of your life
- 6:13Speaker 1: of course, but like slaying.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Oh, thank you so much, laying and up so much.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yes, that's what that's what we're here for.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But yeah, it's just incredible, and I think there's so
- 6:23Speaker 1: many learnings that you would have. So we're gonna tap
- 6:26Speaker 1: into the first topic. There's a few, but buying your
- 6:29Speaker 1: first property, yes, right, So we all love your renovation
- 6:34Speaker 1: and home content. I like watching all of it in
- 6:37Speaker 1: my rental.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Like this is so me.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But what was the process like for buying your property
- 6:46Speaker 1: and what steps did you take beforehand in order to
- 6:49Speaker 1: make that happen.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I mean, this is just my personal journey. I think
- 6:53Speaker 2: when buying a house, everybody's got a different journey. But
- 6:57Speaker 2: I really did it the wrong way. Number one, I
- 7:02Speaker 2: did not walk through the house before I bought it.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I drove past it, saw the front of it, and
- 7:05Speaker 2: when I've got to get that, the auction was that
- 7:07Speaker 2: day they had no viewings. So I went to the
- 7:09Speaker 2: auction and I bit it without looking inside the house.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So that is what I would not recommend. Okay, that's
- 7:15Speaker 2: not what I would do if I was buying a
- 7:17Speaker 2: first home. Again, I didn't even know if there was
- 7:19Speaker 2: running water or electricity.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Great story there, Yeah that was so I Literally when
- 7:24Speaker 5: I got the house, I walked in there and I
- 7:25Speaker 5: almost cried because I was like, there's hot, crazy, but.
- 7:31Speaker 2: What a thrill? My thrill?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Like I bad advice, but the risk of it all
- 7:37Speaker 1: but yeah, like I'm like, but I'm like I like it,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but such bad advice.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Don't do it. But what I would recommend is like
- 7:44Speaker 2: finding a house that you can afford that is actually
- 7:48Speaker 2: not as good, and then you can do it up
- 7:50Speaker 2: if you have the time and the skill. But for me,
- 7:54Speaker 2: what happened is I had to go into this auction
- 7:56Speaker 2: and I had a number, and when I raise my
- 7:59Speaker 2: hand with number, I say I mean my hand with
- 8:02Speaker 2: the number, I say the price. And if I say
- 8:04Speaker 2: the price, I have to legally pay it. So it's
- 8:06Speaker 2: so daunting. So I'm sitting there and there's another couple
- 8:09Speaker 2: next to me and they're bidding as well, and so
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm like bidding, They're bidding. The price is going up
- 8:15Speaker 2: higher and higher. I reached my budget, and my dad
- 8:18Speaker 2: and my mum were helping me out with it. They're like,
- 8:19Speaker 2: you know, educating me on what to do. My dad said,
- 8:22Speaker 2: stop there, don't buy the house. My mom pops her
- 8:24Speaker 2: head out behind my dad and goes got one higher.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So I went up one higher and I got the house.
- 8:31Speaker 1: That would have been such a thrill, but also completely
- 8:35Speaker 1: daunting because it would be because as well they were
- 8:38Speaker 1: they being like a well, yes, oh my god, in
- 8:44Speaker 1: the fear of regret.
- 8:47Speaker 3: What was it?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Was there like something in your like tummy that.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Was like, this is it, this is the house.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Adrenaline. I didn't. I didn't really process wanting to throw up.
- 9:00Speaker 2: A lot of research had gone into the area where
- 9:02Speaker 2: I bought, so I wanted to make sure that it
- 9:04Speaker 2: was a good return on investment. And I also wanted
- 9:07Speaker 2: to make sure that I like the town and that
- 9:09Speaker 2: the street was nice, and that I'm on the right
- 9:11Speaker 2: side of town and that so a lot of research
- 9:13Speaker 2: did go into it. So when the right property did
- 9:16Speaker 2: pop up, I was ready to go, But I was
- 9:18Speaker 2: ready to go too quickly that I kind of just
- 9:20Speaker 2: fully sent it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But I really do like the look for something that
- 9:24Speaker 1: isn't like the dream home yet. Yes, I think that's
- 9:27Speaker 1: that's definitely something that we can fall short of when
- 9:31Speaker 1: looking at houses or apartments or when we want to buy.
- 9:34Speaker 1: We look for something that you know is ready. But
- 9:36Speaker 1: half the fun of it is making it yours and
- 9:39Speaker 1: turning it into like your dream home. Was it difficult
- 9:44Speaker 1: to learn how to renovate?
- 9:47Speaker 2: No, I will say, though, I do have a dad
- 9:50Speaker 2: who's a builder, so that that alone like makes me
- 9:55Speaker 2: be able to buy a really bad house and do
- 9:57Speaker 2: it up really nicely. But when it comes to the
- 9:59Speaker 2: minuscule stuff and like just doing like dii wys YouTube
- 10:03Speaker 2: is your best friend with that, So there's so much
- 10:05Speaker 2: more that you can do even without having like the knowledge.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But having a dad who's a builder of course does help.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, totally. But that's the thing.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I think a lot of people find that really daunting
- 10:18Speaker 1: and they're like, where would I begin?
- 10:20Speaker 3: How do I start?
- 10:21Speaker 1: But knowing that you can do a lot of those
- 10:23Speaker 1: things yourself. And I think a lot of people who
- 10:26Speaker 1: are doing renovations or you know, different upgrades in their
- 10:30Speaker 1: home like they've never done it either. No, And I
- 10:32Speaker 1: think that especially being you know, somebody who's in their twenties,
- 10:36Speaker 1: it can just it can feel really overwhelming and people
- 10:38Speaker 1: doubt themselves before even giving themselves a shot. Do you
- 10:42Speaker 1: have any tips for any other people listening who are
- 10:46Speaker 1: also in their twenty years and have a goal of
- 10:49Speaker 1: buying their first home?
- 10:51Speaker 3: Where should they start?
- 10:53Speaker 2: That's where I was at twenty one. I bought my
- 10:55Speaker 2: first house and I went, all I want to do
- 10:57Speaker 2: is get into the property market. But where I live
- 10:59Speaker 2: houses range from eight hundred thousand to two million, and
- 11:02Speaker 2: I was like, I can't do this, So what I
- 11:04Speaker 2: did is I started with what I could do, and
- 11:06Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to go out back and
- 11:07Speaker 2: that was the best journey of my life. Like my
- 11:10Speaker 2: mum's from the outback, and I bought in a town
- 11:12Speaker 2: I could afford, and it's been life changing. But I
- 11:14Speaker 2: had to take that risk, and I had to take
- 11:16Speaker 2: that chance to go in a place I wasn't familiar
- 11:19Speaker 2: but I could afford, and I had to start somewhere,
- 11:22Speaker 2: and so I couldn't buy the one million dollar house,
- 11:26Speaker 2: but I could buy the three hundred thousand dollar house. So,
- 11:29Speaker 2: in my opinion, if you want to get into the
- 11:31Speaker 2: housing market as a twenty year old, start where you can.
- 11:35Speaker 2: You know, even if you start in a town that
- 11:38Speaker 2: you're not familiar with, at least you're just starting somewhere.
- 11:40Speaker 2: And I think that's that's with our generation. It's so
- 11:43Speaker 2: hard to go, oh, I want a house, but it's
- 11:45Speaker 2: two million dollars.
- 11:46Speaker 4: It feels so far away.
- 11:48Speaker 2: It does, but it's not as far as you think.
- 11:51Speaker 2: If you go to the right town with the right pricing,
- 11:54Speaker 2: you know, outbackscheper. So it got me in the property markets.
- 11:58Speaker 1: When you're looking at places to was there like a
- 12:00Speaker 1: certain checklist that you're like, Okay, this is a good
- 12:04Speaker 1: area or this is like how did you decide on
- 12:06Speaker 1: that town?
- 12:08Speaker 2: Well, like, as I mentioned before, my mom's from the outback,
- 12:11Speaker 2: so I had a little bit of an understanding of
- 12:13Speaker 2: the outback towns and where I ended up going was
- 12:16Speaker 2: a beautiful town. I drove through there. It was lovely.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I got such a good vibe for it. But essentially
- 12:23Speaker 2: I did a lot of research. So my checklist was like,
- 12:26Speaker 2: is it a good return on investment? So if I
- 12:28Speaker 2: put money into this house and if I rented out
- 12:31Speaker 2: part time, am I going to get banged from my buck?
- 12:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 12:34Speaker 1: You know?
- 12:34Speaker 2: And I found that the town that I did end
- 12:37Speaker 2: up buying in was number one in New South Wales
- 12:40Speaker 2: for a return on investment? Yeah, thank you.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Was there anything that.
- 12:44Speaker 1: You wish you knew before or any like any mistakes
- 12:47Speaker 1: you made that you're like, fuck, that was expensive.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Little things in the house. Go through the house and
- 12:53Speaker 2: make sure you know what you're buying. I bought a
- 12:55Speaker 2: beautiful house, but it didn't have air conditioning. So to
- 12:58Speaker 2: get an air con installed is a hefty allowed a
- 13:01Speaker 2: hefty amount of money. I think it was like maybe
- 13:04Speaker 2: twenty thousand.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Wow for a house as an apartment and in
- 13:09Speaker 1: the outback like you'd need it.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I had no idea.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I could be wrong. I could be wrong. Off the
- 13:13Speaker 2: top of my head is twenty thousand and guess what
- 13:15Speaker 2: you can.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Do crocs asterisk? How much was the roo?
- 13:18Speaker 1: What do you mean the roof?
- 13:19Speaker 4: Like the tile roof to get the roof free done?
- 13:21Speaker 2: The roof ree done, the whole roof forty thousand dollars.
- 13:25Speaker 2: That's a deposit right there, you know. So it was
- 13:29Speaker 2: good because I put a lot of value on the house,
- 13:31Speaker 2: so if I was to sell it, I could give
- 13:33Speaker 2: money episode true, but it wasn't something I was aware of.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Oh why did you have to redo the whole roof?
- 13:40Speaker 2: It was it's an old house, and it was like
- 13:42Speaker 2: not not eligible?
- 13:43Speaker 3: What's the wore wild?
- 13:45Speaker 4: See I don't know any of this shit?
- 13:47Speaker 3: Is that?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Why is it a property surveyor that can come and
- 13:50Speaker 1: look at the house for you, yes, for you buy
- 13:54Speaker 1: and they can sort of give you an outline of
- 13:57Speaker 1: some of the potential costs that could come into it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Because I think that's also something that people don't realize
- 14:03Speaker 1: if they've never bought a property before.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Is that the deposit is just one thing.
- 14:08Speaker 1: There's so many other hidden costs that you may not realize,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and you know, getting a lawyer to come look at
- 14:14Speaker 1: it and look over the contracts and everything, and then yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 1: if you're not running into an auction and you actually
- 14:19Speaker 1: do have time to.
- 14:20Speaker 3: You're not doing your drive by through.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's it.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that though.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's such a good story and I think it's
- 14:27Speaker 1: worked out.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah, wellfare crazy, but you can get like a building
- 14:31Speaker 2: inspection as well before you buy, just to make sure
- 14:33Speaker 2: that you know, even the flooring's not going to be
- 14:36Speaker 2: uneven and the foundations of the building is okay. So
- 14:38Speaker 2: there's lots of checks you should go through that I
- 14:40Speaker 2: didn't go through.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I think as well, though there were a lot less
- 14:45Speaker 1: regulations for houses that were built like twenty plus years ago,
- 14:49Speaker 1: or buildings that were built twenty plus years ago, So
- 14:53Speaker 1: I always say make friends with a building surveyor So
- 14:56Speaker 1: you mentioned that you bought your house at twenty one,
- 14:58Speaker 1: which is so cool, But what were the compromises you
- 15:03Speaker 1: had to make in your lifestyle or how did you
- 15:05Speaker 1: decide on, you know, what to spend money on and
- 15:08Speaker 1: what not. To spend money on because you're obviously saving
- 15:11Speaker 1: for a deposit. And I feel like that's one of
- 15:13Speaker 1: the hardest things to do because people are doing that.
- 15:15Speaker 1: But then it's like, ooh, but Cindy's brunches on Saturday,
- 15:18Speaker 1: and I want to do that. So how did you
- 15:19Speaker 1: say yes and how did you say no to things
- 15:21Speaker 1: during that process?
- 15:23Speaker 2: During the process. And I think this might be a
- 15:25Speaker 2: bit controversial because I hear the saying, you know, you're
- 15:28Speaker 2: in your twenties, go live your life to the best,
- 15:29Speaker 2: go travel everywhere. But I actually had a different approach,
- 15:33Speaker 2: Like in my twenties, I'm going to knuckle down. I'm
- 15:35Speaker 2: going to of course spoil myself, but I'm not going
- 15:38Speaker 2: to like take myself everywhere and buy designer handbags and
- 15:41Speaker 2: dresses and everything like that. I just said, my house
- 15:44Speaker 2: is my goal and I'm going to try my best
- 15:46Speaker 2: and be really disciplined in that. But I know that
- 15:48Speaker 2: some people have a different opinion, which I totally understand.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But for me, like it really worked. I knuckled down,
- 15:54Speaker 2: I got really disciplined, and I you know, saved up
- 15:57Speaker 2: for my deposit, and it it didn't take me too long.
- 16:01Speaker 2: It was it was pretty good, but yeah, it was
- 16:04Speaker 2: a place to start. But I would also recommend if
- 16:07Speaker 2: you can knuckle down and get disciplined at twenty That's
- 16:11Speaker 2: my advice because I think a bit of both, a
- 16:13Speaker 2: bit of a mixture is actually really good because especially
- 16:17Speaker 2: when you don't have a family and children, it's the time.
- 16:19Speaker 4: To do it.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't have those responsibilities.
- 16:22Speaker 1: And I think you know, when we're in our early twenties,
- 16:25Speaker 1: we think that our twenties is like it like this
- 16:28Speaker 1: is our peak period. It's going to be the best
- 16:30Speaker 1: years of our life. And I think that's definitely true
- 16:34Speaker 1: in some instances, like your twenties are amazing, but you
- 16:36Speaker 1: also have so much life left to live after that,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and the things that you do in your twenties or
- 16:41Speaker 1: in your thirties can really set you up for the
- 16:43Speaker 1: rest of your life. And I think also, you know,
- 16:47Speaker 1: learning those habits and those skills that comes with you know,
- 16:50Speaker 1: being a bit more frugal and being responsible with your
- 16:52Speaker 1: money and having a financial goal is only going to
- 16:55Speaker 1: help you later in life, whether that is you know,
- 16:57Speaker 1: saving for an emergency fund or saving for a property.
- 17:02Speaker 1: So you've not only bought a house by twenty three,
- 17:05Speaker 1: but you've also set up your own incredibly successful business.
- 17:09Speaker 1: So I feel like this whole episode is like the
- 17:11Speaker 1: asking for a friend. Yeah a friend, Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So tell us a little bit about how that baby
- 17:20Speaker 1: was born.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, what a story that was. So I've
- 17:23Speaker 2: loved business since I was eight years old, and so
- 17:26Speaker 2: I'll just give you like a little recap of like
- 17:27Speaker 2: where it all began.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 2: So when I was eight years old, I remember staying
- 17:32Speaker 2: home from school because I was sick. I wasn't my
- 17:35Speaker 2: mom was just like, Okay, you can stay home. By
- 17:37Speaker 2: the end of that day, I made eighty dollars and
- 17:39Speaker 2: that's because I sold calendars to like friends and family.
- 17:42Speaker 2: So that was the first inkling that I was really
- 17:45Speaker 2: business minded. And my mum saw that and she was like, Okay, wow,
- 17:48Speaker 2: she's really good at this business thing. But she allowed
- 17:51Speaker 2: me to be creative and she like drew that out
- 17:53Speaker 2: of me. And so at twelve years old, I was like,
- 17:55Speaker 2: business is what I want to do for the rest
- 17:57Speaker 2: of my life. I don't care about anything else. I'm
- 17:59Speaker 2: going to be a business woman. At twelve years old,
- 18:02Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to be a millionaire by fourteen, Yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 2: dead set. I believed it with my whole heart. I
- 18:07Speaker 2: got to fourteen and I was like, oh crap, that's okay, like.
- 18:10Speaker 1: A little far away for that. I'm in jet. I
- 18:16Speaker 1: feel like I'm actually minus.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, I've done it a little
- 18:20Speaker 2: bit wrong. That's fine. Sixteen, I'll be a millionaire. I
- 18:22Speaker 2: get to sixteen, I'm like, oh my gosh, this business
- 18:25Speaker 2: thing is so much harder than I thought when I
- 18:27Speaker 2: was twelve. But that was that was just me growing
- 18:30Speaker 2: and failing and changing. And I did so many businesses.
- 18:34Speaker 1: What were some of them?
- 18:35Speaker 2: I made candy jars, which I would sell to like people.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I knew blinker Kid, which is a wallet and the
- 18:44Speaker 2: outer layer you could insert an a four sheet of
- 18:46Speaker 2: paper and I would sell them to preschools so for
- 18:49Speaker 2: Mother's Day and Father's Day, so the kid could draw
- 18:51Speaker 2: an insert it into the wallet and they could have
- 18:53Speaker 2: like a wallet with the kids drawing.
- 18:55Speaker 3: That's so true.
- 18:57Speaker 4: I know that.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I don't know what happened to one, but so it's
- 19:01Speaker 2: always been in me to create a business. And then
- 19:04Speaker 2: I got to I think it was eighteen nineteen and
- 19:07Speaker 2: I was working at Gloria jeans at the time, and
- 19:11Speaker 2: it was only my little casual job, but I knew
- 19:13Speaker 2: in my heart. I was like, I'm doing business. I
- 19:15Speaker 2: can't give up now. So I met my coworker at
- 19:19Speaker 2: the time and I was like, look, you want to
- 19:21Speaker 2: start a pajama business with me? And she's like, yes,
- 19:23Speaker 2: let's do it. So we joined together. We went to
- 19:27Speaker 2: markets originally and we had nine hundred dollars each and
- 19:31Speaker 2: we're like, okay, let's buy a first round of pgs.
- 19:34Speaker 2: We bought one hundred sets and we're like, let's go
- 19:36Speaker 2: sell them at the markets. We did two markets and
- 19:38Speaker 2: we sold about fifty sets altogether. That got shut down
- 19:42Speaker 2: because of COVID and I was like, that's it. I'm done.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I hate business.
- 19:46Speaker 3: How does I dream?
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah? Wait, so you both started with nine hundred dollars each.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you started your.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Business with nine hundred dollars each.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And I had eighteen hundred dollars and.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I have not put any more money, Like, I've just
- 19:59Speaker 2: reinvested and invested and reinvested. People don't understand that you
- 20:02Speaker 2: can start little and grow big. Yeah, you started.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Your business will less than two thousand dollars. Yeah, Bridy,
- 20:08Speaker 1: that is fucking amazing.
- 20:10Speaker 3: That's what unheard of.
- 20:12Speaker 1: That is so inspirational because I need like three to
- 20:16Speaker 1: five business.
- 20:19Speaker 4: That is so incredible.
- 20:20Speaker 1: So you started with that amount, and your strategy was
- 20:24Speaker 1: start little, yes, make profit, and then keep reinvesting.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yes. So when I would make a profit on the PG,
- 20:31Speaker 2: every pger that we sold were like, let's just take
- 20:33Speaker 2: that money, buy more. We'll sell those, take that money
- 20:37Speaker 2: and buy more, and before you know, it's like tripling
- 20:40Speaker 2: and quadrupling in all of that. So it was COVID
- 20:43Speaker 2: times and the markets were shut down, and I was like,
- 20:46Speaker 2: I'm so done with business. This sucks. I've tried since
- 20:49Speaker 2: I was twelve, and I'm not a millionaire. But it
- 20:52Speaker 2: was a lot of character building within that, which was
- 20:54Speaker 2: really good. It taught me the value of money through
- 20:56Speaker 2: those through those times. But I got those pjs, the
- 20:59Speaker 2: fifty remaining peace. I put them in a box and
- 21:01Speaker 2: shoved him under my bed and I said, I'm done.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I'm so done. And then I was I was so
- 21:06Speaker 2: embarrassed because I brought my coworker, who hadn't done business
- 21:09Speaker 2: before along for the journey, and I was like, I'm
- 21:11Speaker 2: so embarrassed. Like I asked her to do this and
- 21:14Speaker 2: it's not working out, and I've wasted her time and
- 21:16Speaker 2: her money. You know, she put in the nine hundred bucks.
- 21:18Speaker 2: So it's a really time of like, oh my gosh,
- 21:20Speaker 2: I'm so embarrassed. But then that's the time it changed
- 21:25Speaker 2: everything because I posted a video on social media and
- 21:29Speaker 2: I was like, look, I just want to get rid
- 21:30Speaker 2: of the rest of my pjs. I'm done. I just
- 21:32Speaker 2: want to make the money back on what I spent.
- 21:34Speaker 2: So I took out the pjs and I made a
- 21:36Speaker 2: video online on TikTok and they sold out instantly. The
- 21:40Speaker 2: fifty remaining pjs, I put them on a cheap ass
- 21:42Speaker 2: website and sold them, and I was like, I'm going
- 21:44Speaker 2: to keep this going. I was like, they sold out instantly,
- 21:47Speaker 2: So then I reinvested that money and then reinvested, and
- 21:51Speaker 2: then we sold out again, reinvested, sold out again, and
- 21:53Speaker 2: then the stock was getting bigger and bigger, and I
- 21:56Speaker 2: was selling out and selling out and selling out, and
- 21:59Speaker 2: the business grew to a point that it was it
- 22:03Speaker 2: was getting really successful at this point, and that's when
- 22:06Speaker 2: my coworker and I went our separate ways.
- 22:08Speaker 3: We did it really well.
- 22:09Speaker 2: We are very civil about it. But she was like, yeah, business,
- 22:13Speaker 2: this business is not really my thing.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not fair, and that's fine.
- 22:16Speaker 3: It's not for everyone. Yeah yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 2: So we just went our separate ways and I took
- 22:20Speaker 2: it under my wing and it is where it is now.
- 22:22Speaker 4: That's so incredible.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I think that's the thing that stops a lot of
- 22:26Speaker 1: people from going into starting their first business is they're thinking,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I need cash to start something, And I think, of
- 22:33Speaker 1: course it depends on the type of business that you're
- 22:36Speaker 1: going to be doing how much cash you'll need. But
- 22:39Speaker 1: knowing that you started with less than one thousand dollars yourself.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Twenty twenty.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Twenty nineteen, twenty twenty one, yeah, yeah, which isn't that
- 22:49Speaker 1: long ago, So it's not like it's not like you
- 22:52Speaker 1: you know, jumped into something ten years ago when you
- 22:55Speaker 1: were actually fourteen, Yeah, and like you got to something
- 22:59Speaker 1: like you know, that's the first thing. It's like, you know,
- 23:02Speaker 1: because sometimes I think we think that it's like I've
- 23:04Speaker 1: got to be the first to have, you know something,
- 23:06Speaker 1: And I do think what you have is actually incredibly
- 23:09Speaker 1: original and unique to what it.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Is, but it's pegs at the end of the day.
- 23:13Speaker 1: But do you know what I mean like you've done something,
- 23:15Speaker 1: You've taken it, and you've done it really really well.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Thank you, And that's like what the difference is. And
- 23:20Speaker 1: that's what I think people. It's really really motivating to
- 23:23Speaker 1: know that because it's like you don't have to, you know,
- 23:27Speaker 1: sit at a desk at two A and being like, Okay,
- 23:29Speaker 1: watch my app, you know, like, and I think sometimes
- 23:32Speaker 1: you can.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Get wrapped up in that. Yeah, totally.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, for someone that you know wants to start something
- 23:39Speaker 1: and they don't want to sit at the desk at
- 23:41Speaker 1: two A and being like, what's my app?
- 23:42Speaker 3: What's like the.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Step by step process or what's like the first thing
- 23:46Speaker 1: you would do that's like, Okay, I want to start
- 23:49Speaker 1: my business.
- 23:50Speaker 4: This is what I'm doing.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, for sure I can give you advice on
- 23:55Speaker 2: what not to do.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I love that it's more really big.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I made this mistake myself. Yeah, that's why I'm a
- 24:01Speaker 2: pro at this mistake. Okay. I overordered. So when I
- 24:05Speaker 2: was like fourteen and sixteen and I would do all
- 24:07Speaker 2: these random little businesses, I would over order stock. But
- 24:10Speaker 2: the thing is is when you over order the stock,
- 24:12Speaker 2: you've got to sell it. But what you'll find is
- 24:15Speaker 2: that as soon as you start selling it, your customers
- 24:17Speaker 2: will be like, look, I don't like this. I want
- 24:19Speaker 2: this to be changed. Let's maneuver this. What about this?
- 24:22Speaker 2: So when I had all this stock at home, but
- 24:25Speaker 2: I wanted to change the product because it wasn't perfect.
- 24:28Speaker 2: So I would always recommend order a low quantity of stock.
- 24:33Speaker 2: If you're ordering or if you're making your product, make
- 24:36Speaker 2: it so low. Maneuver it, test the market, change it.
- 24:41Speaker 2: That's what I would recommend.
- 24:42Speaker 1: That's such a good tip because I think, yeah, I
- 24:44Speaker 1: think because as well, when you're ordering units, it's like
- 24:46Speaker 1: the more units you buy, the cheaper it is, but
- 24:49Speaker 1: it will actually end up being more expensive because you'll
- 24:52Speaker 1: be left with dead stock.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Start small, Do not over order your stock. I've spoken
- 24:57Speaker 2: to so many business people and they all have the
- 25:00Speaker 2: same advice. So I'm like, start small, you know, fifty
- 25:03Speaker 2: sets that'll do. Test it out another Oh. This is
- 25:06Speaker 2: a great tip though, if you're wanting to start a
- 25:08Speaker 2: business and you're not sure what direction you want to
- 25:10Speaker 2: go into. This is a tip from the nineteen fifties
- 25:13Speaker 2: and it still works to this day. So what you do,
- 25:17Speaker 2: I call it, you research it, you let it go.
- 25:20Speaker 2: And then you let it flow. So research like crazy
- 25:23Speaker 2: for two weeks, get what genre of business that you
- 25:26Speaker 2: want to go into, and flood your mind with everything
- 25:29Speaker 2: and anything about that genre, and get all of your
- 25:32Speaker 2: mind so full to capacity with that particular thing that
- 25:35Speaker 2: you're wanting to go into, and then all of a sudden,
- 25:37Speaker 2: let it go. Don't think about it, don't research it,
- 25:40Speaker 2: let your subconscious like ponder over what you've been filling
- 25:43Speaker 2: your brain with. And then what you'll find is, two
- 25:45Speaker 2: weeks later the ideas will be coming out of nowhere.
- 25:48Speaker 2: So it's called research, Let it go, let it flow.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Oh that's so incredible.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I love that you mentioned that you started posting on
- 25:56Speaker 1: TikTok with your brand, and I think obviously, as you
- 25:59Speaker 1: would know, social media has become such a woven part
- 26:03Speaker 1: of branding and marketing and small business as well. What
- 26:07Speaker 1: are your tips to like starting what are your tips
- 26:09Speaker 1: for small businesses that want to lean more into social
- 26:12Speaker 1: media and TikTok but they don't know where to start.
- 26:17Speaker 2: When you don't know where to start, just start like
- 26:20Speaker 2: that's like, I don't know how else to put it.
- 26:22Speaker 2: But I never ever tell my followers to go buy
- 26:25Speaker 2: my pjs. I have never once mentioned the name of
- 26:28Speaker 2: my brand. So what I do is I just tell
- 26:31Speaker 2: them my journey and my story, and I tell them
- 26:34Speaker 2: where I began, and I bring them along for the journey.
- 26:37Speaker 2: So if someone's a small business, bring them along for
- 26:39Speaker 2: the journey. I think you're like I think small businesses
- 26:43Speaker 2: or like the people behind it. You know, you're not
- 26:46Speaker 2: as boring as you think you are. You know you've
- 26:48Speaker 2: got a story, you've got a journey. Share it, be authentic,
- 26:52Speaker 2: bring people along, keep it captivating.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's such good advice, because I do think you
- 26:57Speaker 1: can get wrapped up.
- 26:59Speaker 3: In being like, oh this is on tail, go buy this,
- 27:02Speaker 3: And I.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Think that's actually so interesting that you're like, don't you
- 27:05Speaker 1: don't mention the brand name?
- 27:06Speaker 4: You don't, And it's just is it.
- 27:08Speaker 1: More about like a lifestyle, It's more about building the
- 27:10Speaker 1: lifestyle and you and how that ties into everything.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. So I just tell people how our
- 27:17Speaker 2: designs are created and bring them along for the journey,
- 27:20Speaker 2: and then they're like, oh my gosh, these pj's are
- 27:22Speaker 2: actually really cute. And then I also, like, not to
- 27:25Speaker 2: be cocky, but I love my pjs so much. But
- 27:27Speaker 2: I've got the best pgs for the lowest price and
- 27:29Speaker 2: the best quality. So I believe in my product as well.
- 27:32Speaker 2: So I don't ever tell people to buy it. They
- 27:34Speaker 2: can buy it if they like. If they don't, that's
- 27:36Speaker 2: so fine. I'm just glad they hear the journey too.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Is it ever nerve racking?
- 27:39Speaker 1: You know, when you're reinvesting and you're reinvesting profit, do
- 27:42Speaker 1: you ever get a like in that process?
- 27:44Speaker 4: Obviously?
- 27:45Speaker 1: I feel like you've probably grown past this a bit now,
- 27:48Speaker 1: But at the start in your journey when you were reinvesting,
- 27:52Speaker 1: was there ever nerves of being like what if people
- 27:55Speaker 1: stop buying it? And like what if I don't make
- 27:57Speaker 1: this profit back?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Not really, to be honest with you, like, because I
- 28:02Speaker 2: was so committed to it, and also for me that
- 28:05Speaker 2: it was only reinvesting that nine hundred dollars even though
- 28:07Speaker 2: it wasn't and.
- 28:09Speaker 1: That's a good way to think about it.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's just about reinvesting, and and because it
- 28:17Speaker 2: was just staying within the business, I didn't feel like
- 28:19Speaker 2: it was out of my own pocket. So it wasn't
- 28:21Speaker 2: hard for me. But I think when you get older
- 28:25Speaker 2: and have a family and kids, that's when things start
- 28:27Speaker 2: to get really tough in business because at the end
- 28:29Speaker 2: of the day, you do have to provide for a
- 28:31Speaker 2: whole family. And I'm like, I'm twenty. I was twenty
- 28:34Speaker 2: when I did it, and I was like just providing
- 28:36Speaker 2: for myself, but I really give it to like mothers
- 28:39Speaker 2: and fathers who do it for the family. That's got
- 28:41Speaker 2: to be tough, and like, good on them for giving
- 28:44Speaker 2: it a go to.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Other than overordering stock, were there any other like money
- 28:50Speaker 1: mistakes or things that you were like, oh that was expensive,
- 28:54Speaker 1: or anything that you would avoid doing.
- 28:56Speaker 2: I think it's just surrounding yourself with the right people
- 28:59Speaker 2: who believe in the dream.
- 29:01Speaker 3: That you have.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Because there's that quote that says your five closest people
- 29:05Speaker 2: will show you your future. I don't know if you've
- 29:07Speaker 2: heard that.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Wow, yeah, I just got goosebumps. I'm going to put
- 29:11Speaker 4: that on my phone.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I love that because it is like you are the
- 29:15Speaker 1: company that you keep.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Yes, which is so important like with the business as well,
- 29:22Speaker 2: like we have the most beautiful employees, but especially like
- 29:25Speaker 2: with my inner circle when creating the business, it's like
- 29:29Speaker 2: do they believe in my vision or they going to
- 29:30Speaker 2: tear me down? Are they going to limit me, are
- 29:32Speaker 2: they going to flood my mind with their own opinions
- 29:36Speaker 2: because they're not big dreamers and believers, and so it's
- 29:38Speaker 2: really important the inner circle that I have. I'm very
- 29:41Speaker 2: tight knit with my inner circle. I've got like an
- 29:44Speaker 2: outer circle, which I love and I love people and
- 29:46Speaker 2: everything like that. But your five closest people have to
- 29:50Speaker 2: be on your side. Yeah, even in the business world too,
- 29:54Speaker 2: So like your five closest employees have to believe in
- 29:56Speaker 2: the business, have to want to be there, and that
- 29:59Speaker 2: has to be part of what their destiny is as well.
- 30:02Speaker 2: And we try to, you know, cultivate such a wonderful
- 30:05Speaker 2: environment within the business to you know, unlock everyone else's
- 30:09Speaker 2: giftings as well who work there.
- 30:11Speaker 4: That is such great advice.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I love you.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Because yeah, it's like I know that people often say
- 30:18Speaker 1: it's business, it's not personal, and I do believe in that,
- 30:21Speaker 1: but I do think that at the end of the day,
- 30:22Speaker 1: we are human and it does come down so much
- 30:26Speaker 1: to how you click and the energy that you bring
- 30:29Speaker 1: and if you believe in the brand and the business,
- 30:32Speaker 1: because when times get hard, that's what you need. The
- 30:35Speaker 1: people who are like in your corner being like no,
- 30:37Speaker 1: like this is amazing, keep going, keep going, because you
- 30:41Speaker 1: can't always do that for yourself. You can't always be
- 30:44Speaker 1: your number one cheerleader. So you're like, come on, good,
- 30:47Speaker 1: get out here.
- 30:48Speaker 3: How need you gas?
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 30:49Speaker 2: Absolutely? And I think also you spend so much time
- 30:53Speaker 2: at work, So like our mindset for the business is
- 30:56Speaker 2: if they want to spend every single day for the
- 30:59Speaker 2: rest of their life at night, sweet thing, we will
- 31:01Speaker 2: love that, we will cherish that, we will motivate that.
- 31:04Speaker 2: But if this is their stepping ground into something more
- 31:07Speaker 2: or to something different to what they're called to, we
- 31:09Speaker 2: will absolutely motivate that, and we will say, go achieve
- 31:13Speaker 2: your dream and we will be their stepping stone to
- 31:15Speaker 2: what they're called to. So I think it's business, but
- 31:18Speaker 2: it's also we want people to feel like it's a
- 31:20Speaker 2: family and a home and a place where they can
- 31:22Speaker 2: come back to if they go out and that's not
- 31:24Speaker 2: what they wanted. It's always a place to come back
- 31:26Speaker 2: to or a place to stay forever if they want to.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Oh that's so beautiful.
- 31:31Speaker 1: And this is a perfect segue, I think because the
- 31:34Speaker 1: next topic that we wanted to cover was surrounding yourself
- 31:38Speaker 1: with people you love, and even just from following you
- 31:42Speaker 1: and seeing your content. You have amazing friendships. You have
- 31:45Speaker 1: an amazing relationship with your siblings and with your family.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Can you talk us through though, how you manage that?
- 31:53Speaker 1: Because you are incredibly busy, So how do you make
- 31:57Speaker 1: time to spend with the people that you love while
- 32:00Speaker 1: you're running a business and renovating a home and also
- 32:03Speaker 1: being viral on TikTok.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I think it just comes down to my priorities, because
- 32:09Speaker 2: when you prioritize something, you've always got time for it.
- 32:12Speaker 2: So my number one priority is my family and friends.
- 32:16Speaker 2: And like I said before, I keep my circle really close,
- 32:20Speaker 2: and to be honest with you, that's the capacity I
- 32:22Speaker 2: have because I am so busy, but with the people
- 32:25Speaker 2: that are in my inner circle, I really work hard
- 32:28Speaker 2: to cultivate such a beautiful, strong friendship, relationship, whatever it is.
- 32:33Speaker 2: And I come from a really, really beautiful family, so
- 32:35Speaker 2: that helps too, because I come from a family who's
- 32:37Speaker 2: like you are what each other's got in life, like
- 32:40Speaker 2: the siblings, So we've come from parents who really want
- 32:44Speaker 2: us to have a beautiful relationship and to back each
- 32:46Speaker 2: other up. So I think that comes from my parents
- 32:48Speaker 2: as well.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Oh, that's so lovely.
- 32:51Speaker 1: What's one way that you do prioritize that time? So
- 32:55Speaker 1: for anybody who is listening and is like, I really
- 32:58Speaker 1: want to make more time for my friends and my family,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but I just really struggle. I can't fit it into
- 33:03Speaker 1: my calendar, you know, I feel so burnt out. What's
- 33:05Speaker 1: one thing that they can do to prioritize their loved ones.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I think as well as having really strict boundaries if
- 33:13Speaker 2: you need to, boundaries are important, but also just making
- 33:19Speaker 2: a chunk of time and sticking to the time and
- 33:23Speaker 2: having boundaries within that. I think that'll if you're feeling
- 33:26Speaker 2: overwhelmed by you know, people around you, it's just like
- 33:29Speaker 2: good to have the boundaries, but have a chunk of
- 33:30Speaker 2: time that you can go see them and be really
- 33:33Speaker 2: present in that as well. I think it's quality over quantity.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I think that's that's what I would advise to.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed, time block that time with your loved ones. Yep.
- 33:42Speaker 1: And what about time for yourself? Do you have any
- 33:45Speaker 1: rituals or anything that you do to prioritize that self
- 33:48Speaker 1: care and self love time.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I'm a morning swimmer. I do it all the time.
- 33:53Speaker 2: So every morning I'm going to swim, but it's not
- 33:55Speaker 2: just to swim to me. Of course, I dip in
- 33:57Speaker 2: the water and I feel like a mermaid. But I
- 34:00Speaker 2: sit in my car and I just sit there and
- 34:02Speaker 2: I debrief and I this is something I do and
- 34:04Speaker 2: it works for me because I live a very public life,
- 34:08Speaker 2: which is such a beautiful thing and I love it.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I have the best online community in the world, Like,
- 34:13Speaker 2: no one has a better online community than me. I'm sorry, cocky,
- 34:16Speaker 2: I know, but I don't.
- 34:18Speaker 1: But that's amazing as well. I think that's like the
- 34:20Speaker 1: best way to feel about it too. Yeah, I think
- 34:22Speaker 1: everyone should feel that way.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yes, So when I sit in my car, I do
- 34:27Speaker 2: get negative comments from time to time. Of course I'm online,
- 34:30Speaker 2: you know, But when I sit there before my morning swim,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I just allow all those words to come off me,
- 34:35Speaker 2: if that makes sense. It's like a little bit of
- 34:37Speaker 2: soul search. And you know, I just I don't carry
- 34:39Speaker 2: the words of others on me, otherwise I'm not going
- 34:41Speaker 2: to be my true self. So every day it's a
- 34:44Speaker 2: day in, day out refreshment. And if you don't take
- 34:48Speaker 2: every single day a chunk of time to refresh yourself,
- 34:51Speaker 2: your capacity is going to get smaller and smaller. So
- 34:54Speaker 2: that's what I do. I just sit there and I
- 34:56Speaker 2: just allow like everything to come off me, and then
- 34:58Speaker 2: I go for a swim and wash. That's how I
- 35:00Speaker 2: see it, and then I'm ready for my days.
- 35:02Speaker 4: It's so true.
- 35:03Speaker 1: And we always like say, and I always say, there's
- 35:05Speaker 1: actually nothing that an ocean swim can't fix, whether it's
- 35:09Speaker 1: a hangover or a breakup, a bad day at work,
- 35:12Speaker 1: there is nothing that's swimming in the ocean can't fix nothing.
- 35:16Speaker 1: What has been your biggest life lesson on your journey
- 35:20Speaker 1: so far?
- 35:20Speaker 2: Number one, No amount of money, no amount of fame,
- 35:24Speaker 2: amount of recognition, will ever ever give you peace in
- 35:29Speaker 2: your mind. So I think that's the biggest thing I've
- 35:31Speaker 2: learned is that nothing will, nothing will ever make you
- 35:34Speaker 2: happy unless you have your peace in your mind and
- 35:37Speaker 2: you try your best within yourself. So I think, like
- 35:41Speaker 2: peace of mind is like priceless, and that's something that
- 35:43Speaker 2: I strive because I struggle with anxiety, and so something
- 35:46Speaker 2: I strive for is just peace in my mind. And
- 35:49Speaker 2: I'm like, that is the biggest life life lesson that
- 35:51Speaker 2: I've learned, is that you can have it all, but
- 35:53Speaker 2: if you don't have peace, there's there's, there's not much
- 35:56Speaker 2: more than that.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And then one thing in that as well, that what
- 35:59Speaker 1: you said is like you tried your best. And I
- 36:01Speaker 1: think we expect way too much from ourselves sometimes yes,
- 36:06Speaker 1: like your best is good enough, Like we think I
- 36:08Speaker 1: should have done more if I did this, and it's like.
- 36:10Speaker 4: No, no, no, you did your best. Like how Good's that?
- 36:13Speaker 3: You should be so proud of yourself.
- 36:15Speaker 1: You are so wise for such a young person, and
- 36:20Speaker 1: I think that you know, you have so much experience and.
- 36:22Speaker 3: So much wisdom to share. So thank you so much
- 36:25Speaker 3: for coming on the show.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Go and thank you to you chicks for having us
- 36:29Speaker 1: in your ear holes.
- 36:30Speaker 4: We love to be here.
