Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: And just thank you. Back now with the crack and
- 0:01Speaker 1: head coach Lane Lambert here in New Jersey and Lane
- 0:03Speaker 1: first off, coming back down to down by two on Monday.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What are you making about this team's ability to take
- 0:09Speaker 1: in game adjustments like in the Ranger game when they
- 0:11Speaker 1: need to.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we've been doing a pretty good job
- 0:14Speaker 2: of it. You know, I saw a little graphic there.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I don't know, we have six third period comebacks or something,
- 0:22Speaker 2: which was second in the league to maybe Vegas, I
- 0:25Speaker 2: can't remember, but something like that. I mean, our guys
- 0:27Speaker 2: are doing a good job of accepting and implementing the
- 0:32Speaker 2: adjustments that we're trying to make.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Copo Coco and Ryan Langren made the returns of winning
- 0:37Speaker 1: one in New York. Coco in particular, that played to
- 0:39Speaker 1: Jordan Neberley to tie the game, and he mentions he
- 0:42Speaker 1: does some of his best work down low. So whether
- 0:44Speaker 1: it's his size, his hands, or his vision, what's working
- 0:47Speaker 1: for him on that line right now?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Well, I think it's just that it's you know, I
- 0:51Speaker 2: think Maddi's doing a really good job at transporting the
- 0:53Speaker 2: puck up the ice. Actually an incredible job this year.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I've seen a lot of improvements in those areas from
- 1:00Speaker 2: his standpoint learning how to attack the right people because
- 1:05Speaker 2: there is a right person to attack and a wrong
- 1:07Speaker 2: person to attack. And you know, and then Ebbs is
- 1:11Speaker 2: using his speed and Cocko's a really good download. Like
- 1:14Speaker 2: he uses his body. He can turn, he can twist,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and he's a big guy, so he's hard to knock
- 1:18Speaker 2: off the pocket. So I think that's what works well
- 1:20Speaker 2: for them.
- 1:21Speaker 1: As this roster gets help, You're you get Chandler Stevenson back.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Now what's being to get him back into the lineup.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It's great for you know obviously face offs. You know,
- 1:30Speaker 2: we needed him in the last couple of games. We
- 1:33Speaker 2: made do without him, and that's what you just do.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's what we have to do, you know. But just
- 1:39Speaker 2: you know his overall play, he's you know, anywhere from
- 1:42Speaker 2: an eighteen to twenty two minute guy. When you don't
- 1:46Speaker 2: have that guy in the lineup, you miss him.
- 1:47Speaker 1: The other day you spoke of Jaden Schwartz using his
- 1:50Speaker 1: experience and you mentioned when he speaks these guys list
- 1:53Speaker 1: and so in what ways have you seen him really
- 1:56Speaker 1: sett an example to really set the table with his
- 1:58Speaker 1: leadership to use this when he needs to.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I think he just knows the right times to do it.
- 2:04Speaker 2: You know, there's not you can't overdo it or it
- 2:07Speaker 2: doesn't get heard, you know. And I think a little bit,
- 2:11Speaker 2: even though he wasn't playing through some of our tough stretch,
- 2:13Speaker 2: he was around, He was around the team, he was
- 2:16Speaker 2: helping guys out, you know. So I think it's just
- 2:19Speaker 2: that knowledge of when to speak up. But it's also
- 2:25Speaker 2: he really leads by example at his age, and you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: like the block shot he had in the second period
- 2:31Speaker 2: the other night when we had a breakdown. Those are
- 2:33Speaker 2: key moments that young players see, and when you have
- 2:37Speaker 2: an older player like that doing it, everybody else feeds
- 2:40Speaker 2: off it, and it's a real good thing to have.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Respective Coming here against New Jersey, you've mentioned that they
- 2:45Speaker 1: play fast. We've heard that they can play touf. So defensively,
- 2:48Speaker 1: what matters most here for this evening.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Well, we need a good start against them, and we
- 2:52Speaker 2: need to be fast. So they're a fast team and
- 2:55Speaker 2: we feel like we're a fast team. So I expect
- 2:58Speaker 2: a fast game. I expect a hard game as well.
- 3:01Speaker 2: But this is maybe a little bit different than say
- 3:03Speaker 2: when we talk about playing La or Minnesota, where you
- 3:07Speaker 2: know they're a bigger team. I'm not saying this team
- 3:09Speaker 2: isn't bigger. I'm saying this team is fast and we
- 3:11Speaker 2: better be ready.
