  Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for having me on your little camp cast.

  Speaker 1: Guess what is this year? Five twenty four for me,

  Speaker 1: but twenty sixth overall. I think it's twenty fourth doing

  Speaker 1: the camp cast.

  Speaker 3: Well, here we are, and we, you know, got going

  Speaker 3: today with the Patriots on the field, kind of like
• 0:43
  Speaker 3: practice hour and a half session Paul little.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, sorter than we're kind of used to you here.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know, jord Mayo talked a little bit
• 0:49
  Speaker 1: about that on Tuesday, that he might fluctuate some of

  Speaker 1: these times. And I think that the sort of the
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: ramp up time, you know, I think they have some
• 0:56
  Speaker 1: work that they probably want to get done, a set
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: amount of you know, execution they want to see. I

  Speaker 1: think these first couple of practices will be a little
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: shorter and then they'll gradually ramp it up. And I

  Speaker 1: did think it was interesting before practice started today. They're
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: eligible to be in pads after five days, so that
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: would be Monday. Girod sort of indicated it might be
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: around this time next week, so maybe, you know, a
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: little bit later than that when they were in full
• 1:22
  Speaker 1: pads for the first time. But we're getting ahead of
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: ourselves a little bit.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, we are a little bit, but you know, not
• 1:26
  Speaker 3: the most competitive practices you might have seen one day one,
• 1:29
  Speaker 3: kind of a continuation of OTAs in mini camp, but

  Speaker 3: still some guys that showed up a couple of good plays,

  Speaker 3: and I want to start with Jalen Rager, who had
• 1:36
  Speaker 3: really nice one handed catch down the field, had another
• 1:39
  Speaker 3: catch later in practice.

  Speaker 2: You know, it was kind of productive in OTAs two.

  Speaker 3: Not a guy that's on the top of everyone's mind,
• 1:45
  Speaker 3: but a guy that's just continuing to show up here
• 1:47
  Speaker 3: in the offseason.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like they have a lot of very
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: similar kind of players, not necessarily in skill set, because
• 1:53
  Speaker 1: I think Rager is a little bit longer and faster
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: than most of the other guys, but they have a
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: lot of sort of middling kind of I think Rager
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: has certainly done a nice job of separating himself from
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: the pack in that regard. I thought Juju Smith Schuster
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: also showed up a little bit today with that nice
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: deep crosser. All of these passes we should we should
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: add from Drake may So. I thought that was a
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: good sign to sort of see him get the ball
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: downfield a little bit in the athleticism on display a
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: little bit. But you're right, I don't want to get

  Speaker 1: anybody excited, not overly competitive, you know, in shorts and
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: helmets today.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, so you know, a couple of housekeeping notes because

  Speaker 3: you're obviously trying to read between the lines a little bit,

  Speaker 3: you know, just some highlights, you know, for me, Kyle

  Speaker 3: Duggar coming up with a tipball interception. He continues to
• 2:40
  Speaker 3: kind of be around the ball. That's kind of a
• 2:42
  Speaker 3: Kyle dugger play, you know, not necessarily him jumping the route,
• 2:45
  Speaker 3: but Johnny on the spot right place by time.

  Speaker 1: It's exactly what you're boy, Jabil Pepper said after practice.

  Speaker 1: I don't know how we do it, you know, He's

  Speaker 1: just always where we're supposed to be. And they Yeah,

  Speaker 1: the defensive backs have a pretty friendly competition with those
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: kinds of plays. Uh So he was a little upset
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: that he's already behind, but yeah, it was really nice.

  Speaker 1: The play was actually made by Jonathan Jones, good trail coverage,

  Speaker 1: got the hand in in front of the intended target,
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: ball goes in the air and right to Kyle Dugar.

  Speaker 1: That was from Brissett, probably a past that Brissett was
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: a little late with. You know, again, you know, the

  Speaker 1: timing not expected to be at regular season pace on

  Speaker 1: the first day of camp, but yeah, good to see
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: Dougar around the ball as usual.

  Speaker 2: Little housekeeping.

  Speaker 3: Saw a lot of Michael and when you continues to

  Speaker 3: be at right guard, you know, the lion is a

  Speaker 3: big concern for Patriots fans.

  Speaker 2: Wanted to know how that's all going to shake out.

  Speaker 3: We saw, you know, they're working on the run game

  Speaker 3: a little bit. They're more in the middle of the field,

  Speaker 3: not the red zone, Paul, like.

  Speaker 2: We get used to. I mean, we used those old

  Speaker 2: Patriots practices.

  Speaker 3: It felt like, hey, we're right in the red zone

  Speaker 3: right away, opening it up maybe a little bit. We

  Speaker 3: were speculating just allow on the offense maybe to connect

  Speaker 3: on some plays, but I thought it was fine.

  Speaker 2: Today there was nothing. You know, Ragger made a couple catches,

  Speaker 2: but overall it felt like the first day of camp.

  Speaker 3: They're feeling it out. There's not really a lot of
• 3:54
  Speaker 3: fireworks to write home about.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, and we should say it went Brisset, may Zappi,

  Speaker 1: Milton and that was pretty much the rotation that we

  Speaker 1: ended the spring with that continued today. And you're right,

  Speaker 1: I do think I didn't even know what to do
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: with myself, you know, not starting in the red zone
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: because I'm just it's so ingrained in my mind. If

  Speaker 1: that that's the way that Bill always did it. They started,

  Speaker 1: you know, the twenty or thirty, you know, early down,
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: a lot of early down work, you know, and you
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: saw what they want to do.

  Speaker 2: You saw that the Alex Van Pelt offense wants.

  Speaker 1: To be that sort of zone stretch kind of plays
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: where you know, it's extended handoffs, hard play, action, boots
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: off of that. That's how they're looking to get explosive plays.

  Speaker 2: So some of those things.

  Speaker 1: You started to see the seeds get planted today a
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: little bit, and it was different not being in the
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: red zone.
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: All right.

  Speaker 3: Well, new season, New studio, new head coach, new quarterback.

  Speaker 2: A lot of new nets going on here, Paula. We're

  Speaker 2: just getting started.

  Speaker 1: So real quick. Yeah, just you know, just to continue.

  Speaker 1: The attendance was really good today. The Patriots placed five
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: guys on lists, four on PUP and that would be
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: Cole Strange, Kendrick Bourne, Jake Andrews, and Sioni Taki Taki.

  Speaker 1: Those four players did not practice today, are on PUP
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: and Antonio Gibson starts on the Non Football Injury List NFI.

  Speaker 1: So other than that, the other eighty five players were
• 5:16
  Speaker 1: out there and accounted for. We did see Matthew Judon,
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: we did see Devon gotcha, and we did see them
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: taking part in some of the eleven on eleven stuff
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: that they did, and that to me was a little
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: different than last year with Judon specifically, who was obviously
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: upset with his contract at this time a year ago
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: and sort of chose to the hold in kind of thing.

  Speaker 1: We didn't see any signs of that today. We'll see
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: what happens next week when the pads are on.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, Pop Douglas seeming to do a little bit of
• 5:41
  Speaker 3: rehab work. Maybe two wasn't heavily involved just something to
• 5:43
  Speaker 3: keep an eye on. But that's gonna do usday do
• 5:46
  Speaker 3: it for us for day one here Patriots Training Camp Cast.
