- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:28Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So this morning I heard
- 0:33something interesting that I wanted to share with you because
- 0:35it always makes me laugh when I hear it.
- 0:38As you know, I'm very, very certainty driven.
- 0:40As I've talked about before, it's something that I work on
- 0:43all the time to try to. I don't want to say mitigate it,
- 0:47but just to manage it is better is a better way to frame it and.
- 0:52Every time we get into this season of the year, it is we're
- 0:57in hurricane season in the zone of the country that I live in.
- 1:00And so this means that they are will use weather terms that
- 1:04instantaneously trigger. And it is the cone of
- 1:08uncertainty as soon as you start hearing that there is a storm in
- 1:12the Atlantic anywhere and it's coming this way and they start
- 1:16projecting weeks in advance, weeks in advance.
- 1:19I'm granted this is a wonderful thing because it gives you time,
- 1:21it lets you figure things out, but they will start talking
- 1:24about it in ways that are. I didn't grow up with those
- 1:28words being used. It just makes me laugh when I
- 1:31hear it because I am so certainty driven by my nature.
- 1:35So when the weatherman this morning and I checked to see
- 1:38what the weather is going to be and he says, well here is our
- 1:42cone of uncertainty and they project out depending upon where
- 1:45the hurricane rate of speed and how it wobbles and where it
- 1:48moves, we are in the cone of uncertainty.
- 1:52And I, as I was getting the girls breakfast, ready to come
- 1:55out here. I thought I started thinking to
- 1:57myself, huh, this is really interesting because aren't we
- 2:00always in the cone of uncertainty?
- 2:02Like we don't want to think about that, but we really are in
- 2:05the cone of uncertainty, pretty much a standard of time that is
- 2:11always and. We never know what's going to
- 2:14happen. We never know.
- 2:15We hear that. We hear don't take things for
- 2:17granted. Take your family, give them a
- 2:19hug. You never know what could
- 2:21happen. Today might be a day where your
- 2:23life changes forever and you can't go back.
- 2:25And we all hear these things and we all know people that it's
- 2:28happened to and it's happened to us, but we still go around like,
- 2:33you know, everything's going to be the same way that it is
- 2:36forever. And the truth is, it won't.
- 2:39That doesn't mean you have to be sad about it.
- 2:40Doesn't mean you have to worry about it, doesn't mean you have
- 2:42to be afraid of it. Just means you have to recognize
- 2:46that having the power to see that things have the ability to
- 2:50go away puts it in perspective to pay attention to it and
- 2:54really appreciate it in a different light in a different
- 2:58way. So.
- 3:00When we talk about having to live in a cone of uncertainty,
- 3:04as the weatherman likes to put it, we are talking about the
- 3:07fact that, you know, there there's no way for them to
- 3:10control anything about where a hurricane goes.
- 3:13They can't, they can't shift it. They can't get, you know, some
- 3:18plane that flies into it to move it in a different direction.
- 3:21There's nothing that they can do.
- 3:22But they can observe it. They can be prepared for it.
- 3:24They can, you know, a warn everybody about it.
- 3:28And essentially that's what you're.
- 3:30Doing when you manage your emotions and you look at your
- 3:34life and you say to yourself, okay, Yes, today might be a day
- 3:38where something happens and today might be a day where
- 3:40nothing happens. But either way, if I approach
- 3:43this from a place of awareness and approach it from a state of
- 3:47really honing in on how I want to show up and be the best
- 3:52version of myself that I can be, then we have an A real
- 3:56opportunity. We have a real opportunity to be
- 3:59able to. Function at a higher level
- 4:02because we are, you know, just dousing ourselves in gratitude,
- 4:08giving ourselves that place of being like, wow, I do appreciate
- 4:12everything that I have now. I can tell you there are days
- 4:16when it's so hot and you just don't want to come out here and
- 4:20deal with cleaning the chicken coop up, getting it all fixed up
- 4:24for the day, watering everything on this farm.
- 4:28Endlessly watering right now because it's so dry.
- 4:32And I stop and I pause and I have to manage myself and say
- 4:36Nope, This is why we have, you know, the morning come up the
- 4:39way that it does, so it's not instantly hot.
- 4:41So we can get out here and do all the chores early, early.
- 4:44This is why we can be grateful for that.
- 4:46This is why we are grateful for clouds.
- 4:48This is why we are grateful for those early morning patches
- 4:53where it's. Kate, you're capable of going
- 4:55out and doing things, and we're grateful for the late afternoon
- 4:58patches where the sun is down and you can do things, can
- 5:02always find little things to be grateful for.
- 5:04To shift your attitude, You can always talk to yourself about is
- 5:08this resourceful? Should I be focused on this
- 5:10right now or should I be focused on something else?
- 5:13Because that is the key, my friends, to changing That is the
- 5:17key. Always awareness.
- 5:20So. Living in the cone of
- 5:22uncertainty, it's normal and we don't have to fear it.
- 5:25We just have to get out and recognize that it's helping us
- 5:29to be appreciative and to be very centered on what we need in
- 5:34order to look at the world through different lenses and be
- 5:38healthier. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:40you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:42Bye.
