Sesame and Lilies Lecture I - Of Kings' Treasuries, Part 1
In which the lecturer invites us to contemplate the true treasures concealed within books, distinguishing the fleeting talk of the hour from the enduring wisdom inscribed for all time, and reflects on the common human pursuit of advancement through the craving for praise rather than sincere duty. He gently persuades us to recognise the noble society that waits patiently upon our shelves—the authors’ voices ready to instruct and uplift beyond the transient allure of passing acquaintance and popular distraction.
