- 0:00Speaker 1: Seven ten wo rs Mark Simon. Well, Bruce Blakeman, I
- 0:06Speaker 1: think will be the next governor of New York and
- 0:07Speaker 1: he's the most qualified person to be. You couldn't have
- 0:11Speaker 1: a better choice for the next governor new York. He's
- 0:13Speaker 1: the Nassau County executive. He's the best county executive in America.
- 0:17Speaker 1: And that's basically being a governor. It's the same kind
- 0:19Speaker 1: of job. And he's with us right now. Bruce Blakeman,
- 0:22Speaker 1: how you doing, Hey, Mark.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's always to be with you, your dear friend, and it's
- 0:28Speaker 2: always great when we get together, whether we're in person
- 0:32Speaker 2: or over the phone on the radio. And I appreciate
- 0:35Speaker 2: everything that you do.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll see you Monday because Monday is inauguration day
- 0:39Speaker 1: second term.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Yes, so, and then i'll see a year from now
- 0:43Speaker 2: for the next inauguration.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Oh that's right. So it's like three inaugurations with you
- 0:48Speaker 1: in this short period of time exactly. If people want
- 0:51Speaker 1: to help you with the campaign, donate, help, volunteer. What
- 0:53Speaker 1: can they do?
- 0:56Speaker 2: Blakeman for New York dot com. That's my that's my
- 1:01Speaker 2: website on there. You can volunteer, you can donate, you
- 1:05Speaker 2: can send us suggestions you can about all of the
- 1:09Speaker 2: stupid rules that we have in New York State that
- 1:12Speaker 2: make it so difficult to do business. We're the most
- 1:14Speaker 2: overregulated state in the United States. You can complain about
- 1:19Speaker 2: your tax bill because we are the most highly taxed
- 1:22Speaker 2: state in the United States. I would love to hear
- 1:25Speaker 2: from you, and we could use all the support out there.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And we feel very, very comfortable that we have the
- 1:33Speaker 2: momentum and we have the issues on our side, and
- 1:36Speaker 2: we need a governor that actually cares about New Yorkers,
- 1:39Speaker 2: that puts New Yorkers first, and someone that will make
- 1:42Speaker 2: New Yorkers happy, because most New Yorkers are miserable with
- 1:46Speaker 2: Kathy Hoche's leadership.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, when it comes to the ice shooting or
- 1:50Speaker 1: whatever the issue, she seems to go very far to
- 1:52Speaker 1: the left. Is she making a mistake going so far
- 1:54Speaker 1: to the left?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Well, she makes one mistake after the other. Let me
- 1:58Speaker 2: let me an example. Mark weeks ago, we had a
- 2:04Speaker 2: robbery in Nassau County of a buelry store and through
- 2:10Speaker 2: good police work with our Nassau County Police Department, who
- 2:12Speaker 2: are the best, and working with our international law enforcement partners,
- 2:17Speaker 2: we were able to track down the perpetrator, and this
- 2:22Speaker 2: person was arrested. And that's what we found when we
- 2:26Speaker 2: arrested this individual. That this individual was Romanian, had an
- 2:32Speaker 2: Irish passport, came to America from Mexico through Arizona with
- 2:40Speaker 2: the Biden Harris policy of open borders, made their way
- 2:45Speaker 2: to New York and then they engaged in a spree
- 2:50Speaker 2: larsony and stealing from businesses and people here in the
- 2:54Speaker 2: whole metropolitan area. So we arrested this guy and guess
- 2:59Speaker 2: what a he had a New York State driver's life
- 3:05Speaker 2: under Kathy Hoche's leadership, somebody who could have been vetted
- 3:10Speaker 2: by just sending out a request from international law enforcement
- 3:17Speaker 2: for a warrant search. We would find that places like
- 3:21Speaker 2: the UK and other places had arrest warrants out for
- 3:24Speaker 2: this guy. But we don't get that in New York.
- 3:27Speaker 2: We give it to illegal aliens. We give it to
- 3:30Speaker 2: people without a background chap. If we fingerprinted this individual
- 3:35Speaker 2: before giving them a driver's license, we would have been
- 3:38Speaker 2: able to apprehend them. And here's the worst part. When
- 3:42Speaker 2: we arrested this individual, if Nassau County didn't have a
- 3:46Speaker 2: comprehensive agreement with ICE, this guy would be back on
- 3:49Speaker 2: this trip. Because of cashless bail, a judge wouldn't be
- 3:53Speaker 2: able to hold an illegal migrant with international larrance, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: this person would be released back into community to commit
- 4:01Speaker 2: crimes against the people in the metropolitan area. But because
- 4:04Speaker 2: we had the agreement with ICE, we were able to qualize.
- 4:08Speaker 2: They picked this individual up, and this individual is now
- 4:12Speaker 2: on his way back to Mexico or Romania, or Ireland
- 4:16Speaker 2: or wherever he came from.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Wow, that's one less Kathy Hochel voter. You've taken time exactly.
- 4:23Speaker 2: That's why they're doing it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Hey, the election is a long way away, but you
- 4:27Speaker 1: are working hard already. I know you wanted to see
- 4:29Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills game, but when you were up there,
- 4:31Speaker 1: you did a lot of meeting with people. Voters. They
- 4:34Speaker 1: got out there with people. What did you think of
- 4:35Speaker 1: upstate New York.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Well, you know, the people up there are very warm.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I spent a lot of time up there, not just
- 4:44Speaker 2: in politics, but you know, I've been in business for
- 4:47Speaker 2: many years, not only as a lawyer but also as
- 4:50Speaker 2: a consulting I've represented some of the largest companies in
- 4:52Speaker 2: the United States. I was involved in the transportation industry,
- 4:56Speaker 2: so I know the state very very well, and one
- 4:59Speaker 2: of the things that was really disappointing to me was
- 5:03Speaker 2: the fact that so many people were miserable. And when
- 5:06Speaker 2: you ask them why they're they're miserable, they say, first
- 5:08Speaker 2: of all, our communities are no longer safe, and there's
- 5:12Speaker 2: no economic development, nothing going on upstate except for a few,
- 5:17Speaker 2: you know, a few different areas. There's a there's a
- 5:19Speaker 2: couple of projects going on. One is in the Onondaga County, uh,
- 5:23Speaker 2: But other than that, there's nothing going on. And we
- 5:27Speaker 2: have one of the largest national natural gas reserves in
- 5:32Speaker 2: the world in the southern tier of New York State,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and we don't allow any drilling, We don't allow any
- 5:38Speaker 2: fracking of that natural gas. So we have an energy shortage.
- 5:43Speaker 2: We have expensive energy. Here's cheap energy right in our state,
- 5:48Speaker 2: and we can't do anything that. Across the border in
- 5:52Speaker 2: Pennsylvania they allow fracking. They they have businesses set up
- 5:58Speaker 2: that are getting this matter vital gas out, making cheaper
- 6:02Speaker 2: energy and creating prosperity and jobs for the area. In
- 6:06Speaker 2: one side of the border on Pennsylvania, they're driving brand
- 6:09Speaker 2: new Cadillacs. On the New York side, they're driving out
- 6:12Speaker 2: driving around with rusty, old five year old pickup trucks.
- 6:16Speaker 2: So we need economic development in this state. We need
- 6:19Speaker 2: to create job, we need to create prosperity. That's how
- 6:23Speaker 2: you make it more affordable, putting more money in people's
- 6:25Speaker 2: pockets so they can make choices on how they want
- 6:28Speaker 2: to spend money.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Bruce Blackman would be the best governor. You
- 6:31Speaker 1: can go to blakemanfrom New York dot com if you
- 6:35Speaker 1: want to help. Blakeman from new York dot com. Now
- 6:38Speaker 1: they talk about affordability, yet the MTA just raised the
- 6:40Speaker 1: fair which has upset a lot of people. Congestion, pricing,
- 6:43Speaker 1: all that stuff. You know how the MTA works, isn't
- 6:46Speaker 1: it just a lot of waste? Instead of raising fares,
- 6:49Speaker 1: can't you just cut the costs.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Of course, you can cut the cost you can make
- 6:53Speaker 2: it more efficient, and you make it work for people.
- 6:58Speaker 2: There's something going on here that you know, basically is
- 7:02Speaker 2: a scam. The MPa gets three revenue sources lotly four.
- 7:09Speaker 2: They get federal money, they get money from sales tax revenue,
- 7:14Speaker 2: they get money from employer a roll taxes, and they
- 7:19Speaker 2: have the revenue streams in addition to their fares and
- 7:24Speaker 2: they're always broke. They have a system that's broken. They
- 7:30Speaker 2: have railroad stations here on Long Island that are falling
- 7:34Speaker 2: into terrible disrepair. Nobody's riding the subways because unsafe. They
- 7:40Speaker 2: want to cut back on things like having two conductors
- 7:44Speaker 2: on a subway train, when two conductors on a subway
- 7:47Speaker 2: train would bring more people into the subways because they
- 7:51Speaker 2: would feel safer. And they don't invest in their equipment.
- 7:57Speaker 2: They don't invest in their railroad and subways, and they
- 8:01Speaker 2: are bloated bureaucracy with these big revenue streams and where
- 8:05Speaker 2: does the money go. And Governor Hopell can't explain that
- 8:09Speaker 2: it's her job to make sure that our transportation system
- 8:14Speaker 2: runs efficiently. But people don't want to go on the
- 8:16Speaker 2: subways because they're not safe. People out on Long Island
- 8:19Speaker 2: or in the Hudson Valley they don't want to use
- 8:22Speaker 2: the railroads because the stations are falling into terrible disrepair.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And we have to have a governor who understands transportation
- 8:31Speaker 2: like I do. Understands that you have to market these
- 8:35Speaker 2: transportation sources. They have to be safe, they have to
- 8:38Speaker 2: be cleaned, they have to be inviting to people. Otherwise
- 8:41Speaker 2: people are just going to get in their car, and
- 8:43Speaker 2: that's why we have a traffic problem the way we
- 8:45Speaker 2: do in the metropolitan area.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And Bruce Blakeman has done all this stuff and NASA
- 8:49Speaker 1: County has been it's basically being a governor when you're
- 8:51Speaker 1: a counting executive. And he's cleaned up everything, crime and budget,
- 8:55Speaker 1: all that stuff. Now we only got like a minute left.
- 8:58Speaker 1: What a chance does the report are going to have
- 9:00Speaker 1: to win? Is the demographic makeup and party makeup of
- 9:03Speaker 1: the state.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah, so I won reelection in a county that's larger
- 9:09Speaker 2: than eight to ten states in population, with one hundred
- 9:12Speaker 2: and ten thousand more Democrats, which meets in order for
- 9:15Speaker 2: me to win, I have to depend on not just
- 9:18Speaker 2: Republican and conservative voters, but independent voters and crossover Democrats
- 9:24Speaker 2: what I call common sense Democrats. We want in the
- 9:27Speaker 2: landslide and the last election because we built a coalition
- 9:31Speaker 2: not based on what we disagree upon, but what we
- 9:34Speaker 2: agree upon. Everybody wants safer communities, everybody wants more jobs,
- 9:38Speaker 2: everybody wants more pay, everybody wants better benefits and healthcare,
- 9:43Speaker 2: and they're not getting it from our state. So they
- 9:47Speaker 2: like what I've done here in Nasau County. It's the
- 9:48Speaker 2: safeties county in America. Each magazine said we're the most
- 9:52Speaker 2: desirable place to live in New York State. I can
- 9:55Speaker 2: take those principles and bring it statewide, including the City
- 9:59Speaker 2: of New York, and make it an affordable place to live,
- 10:02Speaker 2: place where you're safer, and a place where your kids
- 10:05Speaker 2: and your grandchildren are going to want to stay here
- 10:08Speaker 2: and raise there.
- 10:08Speaker 1: This here, well, Bruce Blakeman would be a great governor.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I can't think of anybody better for it. If you
- 10:14Speaker 1: want to help, and you should go to blakemanfro new
- 10:17Speaker 1: York dot com. You want to donate, volunteer, whatever you
- 10:19Speaker 1: want to do, go to Blakeman for New York dot com.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman, good luck, congratulations on winning the last election,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and I'll see you on Monday.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Mark, Thank you so much. Happy New Year. Make God
- 10:32Speaker 2: bless you.
- 10:32Speaker 1: All right, Mike, thanks for being with us. Take care.
- 10:35Speaker 1: That's a Bruce Blakeman who I think I know he
- 10:38Speaker 1: should be the governor. I think he will be the
- 10:41Speaker 1: next governor of New York. Hey, don't forget tonight Jimmy
- 10:44Speaker 1: Fayla excellent show. Have you heard it. If not, you
- 10:47Speaker 1: should start listening nine to midnight. It's great every night
- 10:51Speaker 1: here on seven to ten Woor
