- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with on our radio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's the Almost miss podcast, and we are here with
- 0:09Speaker 2: the legendary mysterious been White in the world. She has
- 0:15Speaker 2: been seeing a while, Ashley, you haven't been seeing in
- 0:18Speaker 2: a while, sir, What are you talking about. I missed
- 0:20Speaker 2: one week?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, and then I was here last week,
- 0:24Speaker 3: So I've been around.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Oh you've been around. Yeah, let's just.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Forget I understand it. The first two weeks of the month,
- 0:29Speaker 3: I was absolutely not present. But now we're in September
- 0:33Speaker 3: and we have a fresh new start for the new
- 0:34Speaker 3: school year.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Who knows what you've been up to. You've been up
- 0:37Speaker 2: to something. I don't know what it is, but you're
- 0:40Speaker 2: hanging out with these big A list celebrities now, like
- 0:42Speaker 2: Chris Harrison posting all of your Instagram and Lauren Zema.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So you, Chris and Lauren Zema are just butting it
- 0:49Speaker 2: up in Newport. I don't know if you flew them
- 0:51Speaker 2: out there on your private jet or what. But what
- 0:53Speaker 2: was going on this morning?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, we had so much fun. That was
- 0:56Speaker 3: yesterday and we just all posted it today. And Lauren,
- 1:00Speaker 3: we're here doing a stay with a couple stay with
- 1:04Speaker 3: a couple other friends down in Watch Hill in the
- 1:07Speaker 3: real fancy fans area of Rhode Island, where Taylor Swift
- 1:10Speaker 3: has her house, and they they were able to come
- 1:14Speaker 3: and hang out with us yesterday Monday, Labor Day, and
- 1:17Speaker 3: Jared of course had to work, so we went to
- 1:19Speaker 3: Audrey's to get lunch that Jared could like hang with
- 1:22Speaker 3: them for a brief bit, and then I took them
- 1:25Speaker 3: on a little trip to Newport, got a drink on
- 1:28Speaker 3: one of my favorite lawns outlooking like all the sailboats
- 1:32Speaker 3: and the bridge right.
- 1:34Speaker 2: That place, you guys.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, for my rehearsal dinner, we went to the
- 1:39Speaker 3: resort next to it is the exact same view Castle Hill,
- 1:43Speaker 3: ind just happens to be like a little bit more
- 1:44Speaker 3: like open and friendly to the public during the day,
- 1:47Speaker 3: like they have a bar that's always open out on
- 1:49Speaker 3: the lawn, but they're like the exact save aesthetic. Then
- 1:54Speaker 3: I took them to our wedding venue, Rosecliff, because Lauren
- 1:57Speaker 3: is really into the guilded age on HBO, so we
- 2:01Speaker 3: drove by a Cole Mansions. We got the car for
- 2:03Speaker 3: that one because it's where we got married. And they
- 2:05Speaker 3: couldn't go to our wedding because of respectable reasons. Yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 3: and unfortunately, and they're like, oh, we so regretted. We
- 2:14Speaker 3: really should have made it happen. They're so sweet, but
- 2:16Speaker 3: I'm glad that I was able to show them around.
- 2:19Speaker 3: It was just really fun. It's really and they got
- 2:21Speaker 3: to meet the kids. Chris and Dawson were so cute
- 2:25Speaker 3: with donuts. Yeah, he really is wonderful with children. Lauren
- 2:30Speaker 3: was texting me, She's like, you don't need to have
- 2:31Speaker 3: your nanny come to hang out with them, Like, Chris
- 2:36Speaker 3: is gonna be good with them anyway, and he was like, actually,
- 2:39Speaker 3: like so good and so entertaining to them. No, that's
- 2:42Speaker 3: like surprising, but it was really adorable to see somebody
- 2:45Speaker 3: who's like so like iconic in our lives just interact
- 2:48Speaker 3: with our children. You know, has he met Winni yet?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Have they met Winni yet?
- 2:53Speaker 1: No?
- 2:53Speaker 2: I don't think he has. Yeah, No, he has not
- 2:56Speaker 2: met Winnie yet. He will someday hopefully, But they've been
- 3:00Speaker 2: very supportive to Winnie. They sent her some clothing that
- 3:05Speaker 2: makes me almost cry when she so cute. So you're
- 3:09Speaker 2: hanging out Chris Harrison you've been around it's I'm assuming
- 3:13Speaker 2: also you've watched the finale of Paradise.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yes, I have.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's a big deal, the finale of Paradige.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Can we talk about your Italy trip first?
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, if you want to know about it.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys went to Italy with the whole family
- 3:28Speaker 3: two years ago. Was this just the three of you?
- 3:31Speaker 2: The three of us and then one of well, Jase Jace,
- 3:36Speaker 2: Jess's maid of honor, and her husband came with us
- 3:40Speaker 2: as well.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Oh okay, so how was it traveling the two of
- 3:43Speaker 3: you with a seven month old?
- 3:47Speaker 2: It was actually amazing. Everybody told us that this was
- 3:50Speaker 2: the time to do it.
- 3:52Speaker 3: They're probably right.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, a long time ago, and so we planned
- 3:56Speaker 2: this trip before we knew that Jess was even pregnant.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Wo.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah, we bought it. We bought it in like one
- 4:02Speaker 2: of those nonprofit auctions and you have a couple of
- 4:06Speaker 2: years to use it. So we booked the dates. Once
- 4:10Speaker 2: we found out she was pregnant, obviously, we started like talking,
- 4:12Speaker 2: are we gonna bring winning to Italy? She'll be seven
- 4:14Speaker 2: months at that point, and because of jess breastfeeding and
- 4:19Speaker 2: because of Winnie's ability to travel, we decided to bring
- 4:23Speaker 2: her h and I'm so glad we did. It was
- 4:25Speaker 2: a blast. And we went to this small little town
- 4:27Speaker 2: in Italy called Cortona, cortonas in Tuscany in the mountains.
- 4:32Speaker 2: It's gorgeous. Uh, it's it has so much history. Uh
- 4:37Speaker 2: it's up on the top of a hill. It's really
- 4:39Speaker 2: hard to travel in and out from, and so it's
- 4:43Speaker 2: We had a really slow trip, meaning jess and I
- 4:46Speaker 2: would wake up early with whinnye. We'd take her down
- 4:48Speaker 2: to the same coffee shop every day. We'd sit at
- 4:50Speaker 2: the coffee shop and people watch and have a cup
- 4:53Speaker 2: of coffee and uh some type of big good. And
- 4:57Speaker 2: the owners of this coffee shop, probably in there's sixties.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Jessica speaks pretty much fluent Italian. If she was here,
- 5:04Speaker 2: she would say, I don't speak Italian fluently, and I
- 5:07Speaker 2: would say, no, you one hundred percent speak fluently.
- 5:10Speaker 3: That is so cool.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And so we would we talk to the owners every morning,
- 5:14Speaker 2: and they just fell in love with Winnie and they
- 5:16Speaker 2: would take Winny around the square that we were at
- 5:18Speaker 2: and introduced like to other business owners.
- 5:21Speaker 3: So cute.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So it was just really fun. And then in the
- 5:23Speaker 2: afternoons we would have like a cocktail and a lunch
- 5:26Speaker 2: and then go for a hike. It was a really fun,
- 5:28Speaker 2: just like slow trip.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Oh nice, I like it. So you weren't like trying
- 5:32Speaker 3: to hit a whole bunch of spots. It was literally like,
- 5:34Speaker 3: let's just make Italy our home for a week.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's kind of good because with a seven month old,
- 5:39Speaker 2: we figured getting on the train and going through all
- 5:42Speaker 2: these places would be difficult, and it was, and we
- 5:44Speaker 2: made the most of it. Cortona has incredible restaurants, some
- 5:47Speaker 2: of the most Michelin recognized restaurants per capital of any
- 5:50Speaker 2: place in the world. Absolutely insanely good food and insanely
- 5:55Speaker 2: good drink. We did a good wine tour. And when
- 5:57Speaker 2: he was just a little trooper, she slept through the
- 5:59Speaker 2: night every night.
- 6:00Speaker 3: How like child the time change, she slept through the
- 6:07Speaker 3: night every night.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Jess can I didn't sleep through the night when he did.
- 6:11Speaker 3: How did you keep her on the schedule?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Just as soon as we got there, we're really starting
- 6:17Speaker 2: with the plane ride. Jessica got her on schedule. So
- 6:21Speaker 2: it started to nap at this like normal times. We
- 6:24Speaker 2: put her down at normal times. We would try to
- 6:26Speaker 2: keep her awake by doing like some kind of like
- 6:28Speaker 2: stimulating activity until a certain time of day and then
- 6:31Speaker 2: we put her down and from eight to seven every
- 6:35Speaker 2: night she would sleep.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That's sober. Do you know that. I got to celebrate
- 6:39Speaker 3: my first couple days of Haten sleeping through the night.
- 6:42Speaker 3: This week, at thirteen months, he slept in the night
- 6:45Speaker 3: for the first time.
- 6:46Speaker 2: That's wild. I mean, yeah, it's not anything we've done
- 6:48Speaker 2: right or wrong.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yeah, she was like born like that. Some kids are
- 6:51Speaker 3: and some kids aren't. It's just like you get either war.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and we got a good one. Scares me for
- 6:57Speaker 2: the future. But it was great. And she has some
- 7:01Speaker 2: teeth popping in right now.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Cute. So she eating solids, like was she able to
- 7:05Speaker 3: like really pound some pasta.
- 7:07Speaker 2: No, she's not eating salad. But what she did start
- 7:10Speaker 2: doing like we would give her like like hard pizza crust,
- 7:14Speaker 2: so she would not it just just her eyes would
- 7:18Speaker 2: roll back in the back of her head. She was
- 7:21Speaker 2: so happy. We had a great Jessica explained it like this.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You go to Europe usually if you're from the United
- 7:28Speaker 2: States for a trip, you want to see things. We
- 7:30Speaker 2: did go to Florence. We were in Rome for a day,
- 7:32Speaker 2: so We did bounce a little bit, but we were
- 7:35Speaker 2: in Cortona for six days. This was definitely a vacation.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It was slow, it was relaxing. I didn't do any work.
- 7:46Speaker 2: We just chilled. I usually had some type of like
- 7:49Speaker 2: alcoholic drink in my hand by noon. It was just
- 7:53Speaker 2: a wonderful week of just hanging out.
- 7:56Speaker 3: That's what we did when we did Ali and Greece
- 7:58Speaker 3: for our honeymoon. We legit did nothing except like stroll
- 8:03Speaker 3: around the streets that there were around us to shop
- 8:06Speaker 3: and eat, and that's all we did. Our tenerary was
- 8:08Speaker 3: just to do nothing but eat and like walk.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, I would tell anybody if you're in Italy,
- 8:15Speaker 2: go to Cortona. It's a really cute town. It's where
- 8:18Speaker 2: under the Tuscan sun was.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Oh no way, oh okay, so everybody knows how beautiful
- 8:23Speaker 3: that is.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's the same. It's the same town that
- 8:26Speaker 2: and the author still lives there. We went to our house.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It still sits right outside of the town. We can
- 8:31Speaker 2: walk to it and it's the same. It's actually the
- 8:34Speaker 2: house they filmed the movie at is the author's house.
- 8:39Speaker 2: She spends half the year there and then half the
- 8:41Speaker 2: year in North Carolina. Yeah, great trip. We're back. I
- 8:44Speaker 2: feel like we're kind of on the schedule of every
- 8:47Speaker 2: parent with kids in school, school starting. If you're a
- 8:50Speaker 2: mom or dad out there listening, you know that the
- 8:53Speaker 2: kids are getting back in the rhythm. So we hear
- 8:55Speaker 2: at the Almost Famous podcast. We have a big week
- 8:58Speaker 2: ahead of us. We're talking about the finale of Bachelor
- 9:02Speaker 2: and Paradise today and then I will be heading to
- 9:05Speaker 2: La tomorrow morning to speak with some of the contestants
- 9:13Speaker 2: about their experience in Paradise, what life looks like now
- 9:16Speaker 2: for them, what their plans are for the future. It's
- 9:19Speaker 2: gonna be a lot of fun. It's gonna be a
- 9:20Speaker 2: little contentious because we did I think in all love
- 9:24Speaker 2: and fun, kind of like joke with some of these contestants.
- 9:29Speaker 2: So we have a lot of good questions to see
- 9:30Speaker 2: if they're actually mad at us or not.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Yeah, like Jerry's gonna hate us.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Jeremy is gonna be a good one. I want to
- 9:38Speaker 2: talk to him.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I don't know, are you talking to Jeremy and Dale
- 9:41Speaker 3: who both have given children.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean I feel like both of it
- 9:44Speaker 2: was in good fun. Jeremy, like if he's going to
- 9:48Speaker 2: be mad at me, and I will tell him this,
- 9:50Speaker 2: and so if he listens, he will hear if he's
- 9:53Speaker 2: going to be mad at me for questioning his choice
- 9:57Speaker 2: of swapping gum and he you can be mad about that, then, like,
- 10:03Speaker 2: please do, buddy, Like I really want to have that
- 10:05Speaker 2: argument and for you to take it personally. There was
- 10:08Speaker 2: no personal attack on you.
- 10:10Speaker 3: But you know that we were like hard on him
- 10:13Speaker 3: about just trusting him in general with Bailey and Susie
- 10:17Speaker 3: and feeling that he is making the right joy.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Who wasn't.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess he wasn't.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Who wasn't questioning it? I think we have a lot
- 10:26Speaker 2: to figure out, and I think we have a lot
- 10:27Speaker 2: of things to dive into. I'm excited to talk to
- 10:29Speaker 2: these people. So tune into the almost famous podcast thread
- 10:32Speaker 2: because we will be breaking down these interviews in the
- 10:34Speaker 2: week to come. But today we do have to focus
- 10:37Speaker 2: on the finale of Paradise. Everything is led up to
- 10:41Speaker 2: this moment, obviously. We start this episode with a pretty
- 10:46Speaker 2: full villa still or pretty full resort. We start this
- 10:50Speaker 2: episode with Kathy and Keith still there. We have Dale
- 10:54Speaker 2: and Kat, we have Jeremy and Bailey. We also have
- 10:58Speaker 2: Andrew and Alec, and then we have Jess and Spencer.
- 11:01Speaker 2: All of them are there at the beginning of this episode. Actually,
- 11:05Speaker 2: they're talking about who they're going to vote to leave. Essentially,
- 11:12Speaker 2: Dale tells Jeremy that he is voting for Bailey. This
- 11:18Speaker 2: feels like something that Jeremy does not enjoy. He says
- 11:23Speaker 2: he doesn't enjoy. He feels like it's a he trusted
- 11:27Speaker 2: Dale to not vote for him. I just I want
- 11:29Speaker 2: to kind of start this out with this conversation actually,
- 11:31Speaker 2: because I don't love Sean's way of communicating through Paradise.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I'm going back to Sean and building the Parliament of Paradise.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean that we're not there yet, but you're
- 11:45Speaker 3: just talking about him in general.
- 11:46Speaker 2: We're already there. We've been past that. That was in
- 11:48Speaker 2: the last episode where he builds this kind of group
- 11:52Speaker 2: of people to walk through Paradise with him in a
- 11:55Speaker 2: trusted environment. I don't love how he does it, but
- 11:59Speaker 2: there is and so outside of everything else, I can
- 12:02Speaker 2: question his intentions, I can question the way he communicated.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I can question all of those things. But one thing
- 12:07Speaker 2: I didn't dislike or take offense to as Sean was
- 12:12Speaker 2: that he was trying to strategize his way through Paradise,
- 12:15Speaker 2: and everybody's like, at this everybody kind of felt like
- 12:18Speaker 2: strategy was not important in this game at that point
- 12:21Speaker 2: in time, but it now, all of a sudden, as
- 12:24Speaker 2: soon as Sean's gone, strategy becomes vital to each couple
- 12:29Speaker 2: continuing on at the resort. And I felt like when
- 12:36Speaker 2: Dale told Jeremy that he was going to vote for Bailey,
- 12:40Speaker 2: Jeremy was almost wanting to say, but our strategy has
- 12:43Speaker 2: never been that. I thought we had a pack, which
- 12:46Speaker 2: is pretty much similar to what Sean was trying to do.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yes, yes, well, I mean okay, So just to like
- 12:53Speaker 3: back up and look at a larger point of view,
- 12:55Speaker 3: we know Kathy and he there leaving. They're like basically
- 12:56Speaker 3: saying they're voting themselves off now, but they're still going
- 13:01Speaker 3: to get a vote into who's going to be leaving
- 13:04Speaker 3: with them. And I really just think it's a game
- 13:07Speaker 3: of who you like the most. I don't think it's
- 13:09Speaker 3: that deep right now. It's just like who do you
- 13:11Speaker 3: like the most? And I with Kathy and Keith, they're like,
- 13:14Speaker 3: who do we think could use the money the most?
- 13:16Speaker 3: And we know that Andrew and Alex are safe, which
- 13:19Speaker 3: Andrew and Alex being my favorite, and Bob and I
- 13:21Speaker 3: talked about this so much last week. I'm really really
- 13:24Speaker 3: happy that they're safe and cruising through this. And then
- 13:28Speaker 3: it's a matter of just like, okay, you have to
- 13:30Speaker 3: vote offers one couple that you just don't like or
- 13:33Speaker 3: that you just don't think belongs anymore. I thought that
- 13:37Speaker 3: Bailey and Jeremy, being that he had like his past
- 13:41Speaker 3: and that they weren't saying I love you yet, were
- 13:44Speaker 3: the ones that made sense to leave. Yes, I understand
- 13:47Speaker 3: that Dale and Kat also haven't really said I love you,
- 13:51Speaker 3: but they have said you feel like home to me, which,
- 13:54Speaker 3: to be honest, is pretty close to I love you.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I mean, I think there's no standard. This is a
- 13:59Speaker 2: new paradise. Yeah, I've never seen this format before. We
- 14:02Speaker 2: don't know what the right reason for voting somebody on
- 14:05Speaker 2: or off is. If I was there, I would be
- 14:08Speaker 2: voting for the person that I felt like could beat
- 14:10Speaker 2: me in every competition, which unfortunately is every guy there
- 14:13Speaker 2: other than probably Key.
- 14:14Speaker 3: But I don't believe that because I don't think that
- 14:17Speaker 3: you would have voted somebody truly in love like Spencer
- 14:21Speaker 3: and jess Or, Andrew and Alex Off even if you
- 14:23Speaker 3: knew that their physical strength would beat you.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I do because I think at this point it turned
- 14:27Speaker 2: into a game. I think Paradise when they offered money, Ashley,
- 14:32Speaker 2: this became a game more than it was about love.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I want it to be about love. I watch it
- 14:38Speaker 2: for love.
- 14:39Speaker 3: It's not a coincidence that the two that have said
- 14:42Speaker 3: I'm in love or the two last ones standing. However,
- 14:45Speaker 3: I do think like, honestly, the show production, whatever you
- 14:48Speaker 3: want to call it, lucked out with the fact that
- 14:50Speaker 3: truly Dale and Kat lost that physical challenge, because if
- 14:55Speaker 3: Dale and Kat had won that physical challenge, then they
- 14:59Speaker 3: would have been standing there in the quote finale, Okay,
- 15:11Speaker 3: I have to put you on to these leggings I've
- 15:14Speaker 3: been obsessed with lately. They're from this brand called Tona
- 15:17Speaker 3: and get this, the designer behind them also created Lulu Lemon,
- 15:23Speaker 3: so they know what they're doing. These leggings are next
- 15:27Speaker 3: level think buttery soft, super flattering, and very comfortable, but
- 15:32Speaker 3: they're also very supportive in the right places. So I
- 15:36Speaker 3: started wearing them when the kids and I go out
- 15:38Speaker 3: to play, and now I'm basically living in them. Twenty
- 15:42Speaker 3: four seven. And here's what makes them even better. With
- 15:45Speaker 3: every payer you buy, it helps fund a mental health
- 15:49Speaker 3: counseling session for a teen in need. Isn't that so awesome?
- 15:54Speaker 3: Tona is on a mission to end teen suicide and
- 15:57Speaker 3: self harm, which we think is so important and so
- 16:01Speaker 3: incredible of them. So we partnered with Tona to give
- 16:04Speaker 3: you twenty percent off your order and free shipping. So
- 16:07Speaker 3: head to tonaactive dot com that isna active dot com
- 16:12Speaker 3: and use code iHeart for twenty percent off in free shipping.
- 16:19Speaker 2: This challenge is such a crucial part to the show.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I wish the show actually would have communicated a little
- 16:26Speaker 2: more to us how crucial that challenge actually was. I
- 16:29Speaker 2: think there is still a lot of confusion on my
- 16:31Speaker 2: end as a viewer of is winning this challenge actually
- 16:35Speaker 2: going to give you pretty much a free past to
- 16:38Speaker 2: the money finalely?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:39Speaker 2: I mean that's the finale. I mean, I know we
- 16:41Speaker 2: have a voting like this room of judges voting on
- 16:43Speaker 2: people still, but you're past that. If you won the challenge,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you don't get voted upon, And so I wish that
- 16:50Speaker 2: the show would have heightened that a little bit more.
- 16:52Speaker 2: That challenge is so vital to getting through not only
- 16:55Speaker 2: the judges criticisms, but also it gets you a free
- 17:00Speaker 2: pass to no other eliminations because you're gonna be there
- 17:04Speaker 2: on the last day able to make the choice between
- 17:06Speaker 2: love and money. I didn't know that with this challenge.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I thought it was a great challenge. I enjoyed it,
- 17:11Speaker 2: but I wish the contestants would have had in the
- 17:13Speaker 2: back of the mind, I'm not only doing this challenge
- 17:15Speaker 2: to win. This is also the challenge that is going
- 17:18Speaker 2: to secure me at least whatever was in those envelopes
- 17:21Speaker 2: a large sum of money.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I like the way that the couple that won, Alex
- 17:25Speaker 3: and Andrew, were the ones that nobody was talking about
- 17:27Speaker 3: physical strength with.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 3: I don't know if like the game was rigged or
- 17:31Speaker 3: what not, but like, I was really shocked to see
- 17:34Speaker 3: Dale being the first one to like drop out. I
- 17:38Speaker 3: know it was a partnership thing with him and Kat,
- 17:41Speaker 3: but it was like, Wow, that was early on for
- 17:44Speaker 3: them and what I expected.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I don't think legally, Ashley, they can rig any of
- 17:50Speaker 2: these games because money is on the line.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so they didn't make it as far as
- 17:55Speaker 3: I would have thought they would.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Have that's just my thought. I don't mean legally, if
- 17:59Speaker 2: it's a game show with money on the line, you
- 18:01Speaker 2: cannot rig it for a certain outcome. And so no,
- 18:04Speaker 2: I don't think they rigged it. Who knows why. All
- 18:08Speaker 2: these guys are big and strong and you know, athletic,
- 18:12Speaker 2: all these women are strong and athletic.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Our producer is reminding us that it was a total
- 18:18Speaker 3: combined weight and Alex being the smallest and lightest girl,
- 18:21Speaker 3: may have may have made it a little bit easier on them.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah, could have. It, definitely could have. It was a
- 18:29Speaker 2: great game. I enjoyed watching it. I'd like to see
- 18:31Speaker 2: them do it a little bit longer, have to hold
- 18:34Speaker 2: on for like the six hours and you know they're
- 18:36Speaker 2: sweating and crying and all those things. But that didn't
- 18:39Speaker 2: happen really quickly in this episode, Ashley to no shock
- 18:45Speaker 2: to the viewer, Kathy and Keith are going home. I
- 18:48Speaker 2: want to point out at this point one of the
- 18:50Speaker 2: main reasons that they're going home is because they kind
- 18:52Speaker 2: of advocated now for the last two weeks to go home.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Keith is ready to go home. He wants to get
- 18:57Speaker 2: out of there. He has a flight to catch to
- 18:59Speaker 2: get with his girls back home. I think it's a
- 19:02Speaker 2: wonderful thing. Keith is an upstanding gentleman. He has been
- 19:06Speaker 2: throughout this whole process. The relationship that he and Kathy
- 19:09Speaker 2: have had has been not only fun to watch, but
- 19:12Speaker 2: also very pure and very enjoyable and endearing. But I
- 19:17Speaker 2: want to point out that Keith wants to go home.
- 19:19Speaker 2: He wants to eliminate himself pretty much, to get back
- 19:22Speaker 2: to his life. I'll pause that thought there because I'll
- 19:26Speaker 2: come back to it here in just a bit. But
- 19:29Speaker 2: Keith and Kathy are going home, which leads us to
- 19:32Speaker 2: the couples that remain. Alex and Andrew, Justin, Spencer and
- 19:37Speaker 2: Kat and Dale. Bailey and Jeremy go home as well.
- 19:42Speaker 2: They get voted off the resort. Jeremy's emotional about this,
- 19:46Speaker 2: I think for multiple reasons. I think he really cares
- 19:49Speaker 2: about Bailey at this point. I do believe he does,
- 19:53Speaker 2: and I think their relationship will be tested. But also
- 19:56Speaker 2: I do believe they are a couple that actually really
- 19:58Speaker 2: likes each other. I think the Susi drama is behind them.
- 20:04Speaker 2: But also, let's be honest, you're saying goodbye to at
- 20:07Speaker 2: this point. What they believe is a half a million dollars. Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 2: I think that's that would make you emotional.
- 20:14Speaker 3: To be honest with couples like Bailey and Jeremy where
- 20:18Speaker 3: that they like each other and they should totally date
- 20:21Speaker 3: out in the real world, but like maybe they're not
- 20:25Speaker 3: going to get engaged anytime soon. It's the money that
- 20:28Speaker 3: really would make me be like, wow, I'm actually I
- 20:31Speaker 3: could see myself being pretty dark frustrated getting eliminated. Would
- 20:36Speaker 3: you get that far to like the semi finale and
- 20:40Speaker 3: then you just, yeah, you're just not gonna win. It sucks.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So let's continue with going to the fact that Andrew
- 20:49Speaker 3: and Alex end up winning the weight Challenge and it's
- 20:52Speaker 3: just a quick it's just a speed basically to eliminate
- 20:56Speaker 3: everybody else. They don't know what's going to happen, but
- 21:00Speaker 3: they meet again for at dinner time, to which this
- 21:03Speaker 3: parliament walks in and this is all the couples that
- 21:07Speaker 3: have basically been eliminated with in the past. I want
- 21:09Speaker 3: to say, like actual recording time five days, four or
- 21:13Speaker 3: five days, and this is when the big announcement is
- 21:18Speaker 3: made by Sean and Alisha Alisha, Alisha whatever you want
- 21:23Speaker 3: to call her. They keep calling her different things. Sean
- 21:25Speaker 3: called her Alisha, so I'm going to call her Alicia
- 21:28Speaker 3: since they're like supposedly dating. He drops this bomb, which
- 21:32Speaker 3: is kind of a bomb, but it's like, honestly, it
- 21:35Speaker 3: was just his delivery was so bad of it that
- 21:38Speaker 3: like we all just ended up not liking Sean Moore
- 21:41Speaker 3: and feeling fine about Kat.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Do you think that's how most people reacted?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Yes, what do you think?
- 21:48Speaker 2: I don't know. I'll have to you know, I'll have
- 21:50Speaker 2: to wait and kind of go back through Twitter. I
- 21:53Speaker 2: don't think his delivery was great. I do think it
- 21:55Speaker 2: felt harsh. I do think because there was no conclusion
- 21:58Speaker 2: on if she did this or not, people are going
- 22:01Speaker 2: to be critical Sean because it did feel like they
- 22:04Speaker 2: came into it. And I think he said it right.
- 22:08Speaker 2: If you take shots at me and you miss, it's
- 22:11Speaker 2: going to come back to bite you. I think there
- 22:13Speaker 2: was an intention to get even here.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yeah, they like went home and did homework.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I just don't think that shows well. I don't think
- 22:21Speaker 2: people respond to that well. I don't think Kat comes
- 22:24Speaker 2: out of this unscathed because we've seen the rumors of
- 22:27Speaker 2: her having a boyfriend during the show and all those things.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I don't think she comes out of it unscathed, but
- 22:34Speaker 2: I don't think Sean or Alicia comes out of it
- 22:38Speaker 2: looking like they were the Knights and shining armor.
- 22:42Speaker 3: No, they so obviously wanted to get revenge, and it
- 22:48Speaker 3: was like, what are you really trying to get revenge
- 22:50Speaker 3: on you? Guys just look really petty and like you
- 22:53Speaker 3: look like you kind of just want to ruffle feathers.
- 22:56Speaker 3: It was like they were getting a high off of
- 22:59Speaker 3: just making somebody look bad, and that was kind of shame.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Can you imagine the flight down there though, Like when
- 23:06Speaker 2: they get the phone call, hey, we're going to be judges.
- 23:09Speaker 2: We need judges for this week there whatever, I'm just
- 23:13Speaker 2: whatever is leading up to this moment and the top
- 23:15Speaker 2: two of them talking about it and like the excitement.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, that was grossy, That's what it felt like.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Like they were like, Okay, let's call so and so
- 23:23Speaker 3: at home and like try to like put these puzzle
- 23:25Speaker 3: pieces together so we can really deliver a bomb. And
- 23:28Speaker 3: they thought that everybody was going to go against cat,
- 23:31Speaker 3: but that's just not how it went because their delivery
- 23:33Speaker 3: was so because it was just like so kind of
- 23:35Speaker 3: ough that so, but let's let's also explain what it
- 23:40Speaker 3: is for those of you who haven't watched it. They
- 23:44Speaker 3: say that Kat has brought a computer in, and we
- 23:47Speaker 3: had heard rumblings of something along these lines over the
- 23:49Speaker 3: past few weeks, not on the show, but like off
- 23:53Speaker 3: the show, people talking about this because Alicia has been
- 23:58Speaker 3: saying stuff like this, insinuating that she does not like
- 24:03Speaker 3: Kat at all. So they say that Kat brought in
- 24:07Speaker 3: a laptop and iPad whatever, and she has been corresponding
- 24:11Speaker 3: with an X of hers who like she still seems
- 24:15Speaker 3: serious with flirty with whatever, and is writing love letters
- 24:19Speaker 3: via email to him. Now, it looks when they're delivering
- 24:26Speaker 3: this message that Kat knows exactly where it's going and
- 24:30Speaker 3: she knows it's not going to be good. I know
- 24:33Speaker 3: that there's got to be some truth to this. She says,
- 24:35Speaker 3: it's not as bad as how she's making it sound.
- 24:38Speaker 3: She does admit that she went in without thinking that
- 24:43Speaker 3: she was going to find love, so she kind of
- 24:45Speaker 3: like kept her connections back at home. She's making it
- 24:49Speaker 3: seem like it wasn't like a committed relationship that she
- 24:51Speaker 3: was leaving. It was just somebody that she was continuing
- 24:53Speaker 3: a conversation like continuing a situationship with the way that
- 25:00Speaker 3: Dale handles this, being like I'm going to stand by
- 25:03Speaker 3: her side right now. I can't tell whether that's truly
- 25:08Speaker 3: Dale just being like wow, like he's a good stand
- 25:10Speaker 3: up guy and he's going to stand by his woman,
- 25:13Speaker 3: or he's like the cameras in front of me, I'm
- 25:15Speaker 3: going to do everything that I can to look like
- 25:16Speaker 3: a night in shining armor in this situation. It could
- 25:19Speaker 3: be a combination of both. But he does a great job.
- 25:24Speaker 3: He looks like he's showing a lot of loyal to
- 25:27Speaker 3: in dedication to Kat, and I applaud him.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I applaud him. I think it would have been easy
- 25:32Speaker 2: to stand there and defend her, especially when he said
- 25:36Speaker 2: I don't care what happened last Paradise and they said, no,
- 25:38Speaker 2: this is happening right now, and you saw it on
- 25:39Speaker 2: his face. Yeah, I think it hurts the ego. I
- 25:44Speaker 2: think it's a shock. I don't know how anybody responds
- 25:48Speaker 2: to it well, but he did, and I have to
- 25:50Speaker 2: give him that credit. It is interesting that she won't
- 25:54Speaker 2: talk to Dale about it on camera. Yeah, to me,
- 25:57Speaker 2: it does hint at yes something as they and that
- 26:01Speaker 2: it seems like such a difficult maybe giving the benefit
- 26:05Speaker 2: of the doubts of the situation, maybe such a difficult
- 26:09Speaker 2: story to kind of unpack that she doesn't feel like
- 26:12Speaker 2: she could do it fairly on camera, and so she
- 26:14Speaker 2: wants to talk to him off camera away from it.
- 26:17Speaker 2: It doesn't look good, I don't think on anybody. But
- 26:19Speaker 2: it is the shocking moment of the episode where all
- 26:21Speaker 2: of a sudden, I'm sitting here in my seat going goodness,
- 26:26Speaker 2: not everything has changed, but they're going home. There's no
- 26:30Speaker 2: question to me that they're going home. You can't, Yeah,
- 26:35Speaker 2: but Ashley, I do want to know. I do know
- 26:38Speaker 2: the judges voted on the couples, but Sean and Alicia
- 26:43Speaker 2: were really the only moment we saw where there was
- 26:45Speaker 2: like an inquisitive nature to these judges. I think the
- 26:49Speaker 2: show hoped that the judges would come in and really
- 26:54Speaker 2: speak into each of these couples, interrogate these couples, figure
- 26:58Speaker 2: out what couples are there for the rest reason. Yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 2: we really only see Sean and Alicia do what they
- 27:03Speaker 2: did and then they're done. Sean even says it, I'm done.
- 27:06Speaker 2: This is all I came here for.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I think that that ruffled so many feathers that they
- 27:09Speaker 3: didn't even need to have the conversations because it was
- 27:12Speaker 3: kind of like the obvious choice is that Cat and
- 27:14Speaker 3: Dale probably do not deserve quote quote to be there
- 27:18Speaker 3: anymore because, like you know, they may not be as
- 27:21Speaker 3: authentic as a couple as we thought it.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It's a very pivotal point in this season, and I
- 27:28Speaker 2: think it doesn't it definitely goes notice because the show
- 27:31Speaker 2: focuses on a lot, It's going to be a very
- 27:34Speaker 2: controversial moment. Also for this episode, I think the viewership
- 27:40Speaker 2: has a very had a very strong reaction to Sean
- 27:43Speaker 2: and how he handled himself on the episode that he
- 27:47Speaker 2: was then let go on. I'm assuming there'll be a
- 27:50Speaker 2: similar reaction to this situation, but like I said, I
- 27:55Speaker 2: don't think either of them come out unscathed. It did
- 27:58Speaker 2: feel I don't know, I don't know if there's a
- 28:03Speaker 2: better way to do it. I'm sure the show wanted
- 28:05Speaker 2: them to do it in front of everybody else, but
- 28:07Speaker 2: it did feel really weird having it done in front
- 28:10Speaker 2: of the peers and not at least one on one.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I also though think Sean's hurt, he thought he this
- 28:18Speaker 2: is still the situation. I don't get he thought that
- 28:22Speaker 2: Kat and himself were best friends, good friends.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's also weird. Why was he so offended by this?
- 28:30Speaker 2: But like she's like, I don't even think we're with
- 28:32Speaker 2: that friend like friends. He would say he would have
- 28:33Speaker 2: died for her. I think it was his exactly.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Well, this is like so strange because as a viewer
- 28:39Speaker 3: of people who have had two seasons together, I didn't
- 28:42Speaker 3: even remember that they had another season together like that,
- 28:44Speaker 3: that they were there together. I knew that they were
- 28:46Speaker 3: both in Paradise before, but like, no, there's no monumental
- 28:49Speaker 3: friendship there. There's been lots of guy girl combination friendships,
- 28:53Speaker 3: like throughout Seasons of Paradise where you they leave, they
- 28:56Speaker 3: leave and you're like wow, like that's so cute that
- 28:59Speaker 3: like sister brother relationship. That wasn't one of them.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Well, let's add it to the list of questions that
- 29:05Speaker 2: we're going to ask tomorrow. I'm gonna step in there
- 29:06Speaker 2: and I want to ask Kat or Sean why you
- 29:08Speaker 2: thought you were such good friends And if you weren't
- 29:11Speaker 2: such good friends, why did you believe it? Sean and Cat?
- 29:14Speaker 2: If you were such good friends, why did you say
- 29:16Speaker 2: you weren't. We're going to talk about it tomorrow, we'll
- 29:18Speaker 2: bring it up with them. We'll be there in person
- 29:20Speaker 2: with the cast of Bachelor in Paradise Ashley. The remaining
- 29:24Speaker 2: couples after Cat and Dale are then voted off, are
- 29:29Speaker 2: Andrew and Alex Justin Spencer. Still, that's it, that's it.
- 29:36Speaker 3: It's our finale.
- 29:36Speaker 2: That's our finale. That's question.
- 29:38Speaker 3: The question that's weird here is that all of a sudden,
- 29:41Speaker 3: now that it's the two of them, Jesse comes out
- 29:43Speaker 3: and he's like, so, oh, I guess he had said
- 29:46Speaker 3: this earlier. He said this the night before where.
- 29:49Speaker 2: He was like, sorry, let me interrupt you. Yeah, I
- 29:51Speaker 2: had a point earlier, and I need to make sure
- 29:53Speaker 2: I hit on it. Yes, please, my point to Keith
- 29:56Speaker 2: going home. I feel bad for the guy because he
- 29:58Speaker 2: had to show back up.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh that was I thought when you said
- 30:02Speaker 3: make a note of that for later. I like that.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Poor guy.
- 30:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna say the entire freaking series.
- 30:07Speaker 2: He literally voted himself off to get home early and
- 30:11Speaker 2: many has to be there till the end. I feel
- 30:14Speaker 2: bad for the fella. Anyways, all right, sorry, keep with this.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Worthy of feeling bad for him. So it was actually
- 30:19Speaker 3: at the Parliament night that Jesse goes one of these couples.
- 30:23Speaker 3: If you decide to have two couples go through the finale,
- 30:26Speaker 3: because there's a choice of just having Alex and Andrew
- 30:29Speaker 3: being the only one in the finale because they were safe.
- 30:33Speaker 3: If you choose to bring another couple to the finale,
- 30:36Speaker 3: we're gonna now put the pot prize down to twenty
- 30:39Speaker 3: to quarter of a million versus half a million. It's like, sir, wait,
- 30:45Speaker 3: what like this? This seems like a tease.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, this get all this guy really confusing for me.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I have a man for making up these money rules
- 30:56Speaker 3: as they went.
- 30:57Speaker 2: I wrote all the notes on how this game was
- 31:00Speaker 2: suposed to work, and it still doesn't make sense to me.
- 31:02Speaker 2: On how somebody was actually ever supposed to win five
- 31:04Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars.
- 31:06Speaker 3: No, if for some reason they decided that that couple
- 31:09Speaker 3: last standing because of the weight challenge was gonna, you know,
- 31:13Speaker 3: have the five hundred thousand dollars to win. I guess
- 31:15Speaker 3: the thousand is the only just but it did.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I literally wrote out each each thing on Okay, here's
- 31:21Speaker 2: what Jesse said on how the game would work, and
- 31:24Speaker 2: it still doesn't make sense. I don't know how somebody
- 31:26Speaker 2: gets five hundred thousand dollars. It's still a mystery to all.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Well, it would make the only thing that would have
- 31:31Speaker 3: made sense is like the Parliament wouldn't have sent another
- 31:36Speaker 3: couple to the finale, and then if there was only
- 31:39Speaker 3: one couple in the finale, that person, like one person
- 31:43Speaker 3: standing there could have chosen to take the five hundred
- 31:47Speaker 3: thousand and leave. But they would have still, I think,
- 31:50Speaker 3: been given the situation like you have five hundred thousand
- 31:53Speaker 3: making leave.
- 31:54Speaker 2: No, I am, you're not making sense. It's too confusing.
- 31:58Speaker 2: What we were told this whole season is there's five
- 32:00Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars that you can win. At the end
- 32:03Speaker 2: of this that five hundred thousand dollars is a mystery.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It still is to this day.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Du bet, you're being silly. You could have done it.
- 32:11Speaker 3: They could have done it. Apparently if they decided not
- 32:14Speaker 3: to send another couple into the finale. Who decided this
- 32:18Speaker 3: the parliament? They decided to send another couple aka Jess
- 32:23Speaker 3: and Spencer into the finale, how.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Would they have decided not to?
- 32:26Speaker 3: They said that you could decide not to. They said
- 32:30Speaker 3: you could vote no one to go through and then
- 32:32Speaker 3: just leave Andrew Alex there.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I bet if you asked Kathy, Keith, Faith, all these people,
- 32:41Speaker 2: if they understood that rule, they would say I had
- 32:44Speaker 2: no clue that existed.
- 32:45Speaker 3: And I didn't say that. He says there's an option
- 32:48Speaker 3: not to send anyone else to the finale. We all
- 32:50Speaker 3: knew that that wasn't going to be a thing.
- 32:52Speaker 2: I really don't know, Ashley. Either way, it's confusing for it.
- 33:06Speaker 2: So we have two couples remaining. They get to choose.
- 33:09Speaker 2: There's two hundred fifty thousand dollars sitting in front of them.
- 33:11Speaker 2: They can choose love or money. There's about three thousand
- 33:16Speaker 2: different variations of how this could work out. If they
- 33:20Speaker 2: both choose money, if they both choose love, if one
- 33:24Speaker 2: chooses love, there's.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Well, you know what those caveats are for. They wanted
- 33:29Speaker 3: to show that the show was still about love in
- 33:31Speaker 3: the end, because if both couple, if both people and
- 33:35Speaker 3: the couple said I'm taking the money, they wouldn't have
- 33:40Speaker 3: had the option to have the money. That they couldn't
- 33:42Speaker 3: have the money. So they were just trying to be like, listen,
- 33:46Speaker 3: you can't go out in the real world and be
- 33:48Speaker 3: a couple with money. That's what they wanted to avoid.
- 33:51Speaker 3: They wanted to avoid people saying like, Hey, I'm going
- 33:54Speaker 3: to choose the money, but then we're going to get
- 33:56Speaker 3: back together in real life.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I understand this, Ashulely, I do. I get it. I'm
- 34:02Speaker 2: just saying this is no longer a wine drinking show
- 34:05Speaker 2: at this point. We're doing way too difficult math for anybody.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Wine deep they lost me that they've lost me. I'm
- 34:13Speaker 2: still in on the show. I get the show part.
- 34:16Speaker 2: I don't understand the money part and how you actually
- 34:18Speaker 2: get the money. Either way, these couples get to decide
- 34:21Speaker 2: let's keep it easy between love or money. Big really
- 34:25Speaker 2: like dramatic moments where we get to see the flashback
- 34:27Speaker 2: of their relationships. We get to see each person kind
- 34:30Speaker 2: of sweating it out. We see the man of the
- 34:33Speaker 2: relationship stand up and wait to see if his partner
- 34:37Speaker 2: also chose love. Both men, Andrew and Spencer chose love
- 34:42Speaker 2: over the money. To me, that's a very obvious choice
- 34:46Speaker 2: because there's no shot that this show would penalize somebody
- 34:53Speaker 2: choosing love. If these people were thinking through it strategically
- 34:57Speaker 2: at all, you would say there is no chance that
- 35:01Speaker 2: Bachelor in Paradise would give me zero dollars when there
- 35:04Speaker 2: was five hundred thousand supposedly on the table. Yeah, if
- 35:08Speaker 2: I chose my relationship over the money, that would be
- 35:11Speaker 2: absolute death sentence.
- 35:13Speaker 3: To this friend you're saying, you're saying that, like, there's
- 35:15Speaker 3: no way that I'm not going to make some sort
- 35:18Speaker 3: of money if I choose love.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no way.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I was going to say, in a little bit of
- 35:22Speaker 3: an opposite way, if you choose the money, then you'll
- 35:27Speaker 3: never make any money off social media because you'll be hated.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah, unless you're Alex. I think Alex could have chose
- 35:34Speaker 2: the money, ever, but then like that.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Okay, yes, all right, So this is what I was thinking,
- 35:38Speaker 3: especially knowing that Jess and Spencer were like on the
- 35:41Speaker 3: engagement tier and the two of them were not contemplating engagement.
- 35:45Speaker 3: I was thinking Andrew kind of. I think Andrew was
- 35:49Speaker 3: fifty to fifty on whether or not she should have
- 35:52Speaker 3: taken the money or not, because I think that Andrew
- 35:55Speaker 3: knows that if she chose the money he wanted her
- 35:59Speaker 3: to to relief that burden that is her student loans.
- 36:03Speaker 3: She said it was in the six fig ures in debt.
- 36:07Speaker 3: She was six figures in debt, so I was like,
- 36:09Speaker 3: you know what, Andrew being Andrew so sweet, such a
- 36:12Speaker 3: good guy, He's probably like halfway rooting for her to
- 36:15Speaker 3: pick the money and then like he's just gonna call
- 36:17Speaker 3: her in real life he would do that, because he
- 36:20Speaker 3: would do that.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I think he would. I do I just don't think yes.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I think you're right, Ashley. I think Alex could have
- 36:27Speaker 2: got away with it. I think we all would have understood.
- 36:29Speaker 2: I would have understood. I would have been happy and
- 36:32Speaker 2: sad at the same time because all of a sudden,
- 36:34Speaker 2: Alex is debt free. And Andrew and Alex are going
- 36:37Speaker 2: to be dating by the time we do our finale recap,
- 36:39Speaker 2: which again is happening this week, where we're going to
- 36:42Speaker 2: be sitting down with the Bachelor in Paradise contestants here
- 36:44Speaker 2: at the Almost Namous podcast, asking them all the questions
- 36:47Speaker 2: that you want to know, Ashley. They both choose love.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Both couples choose love. Then we get before we get
- 36:55Speaker 2: into the very emotional scenes that exist between the two couples,
- 36:59Speaker 2: there is a lot of laughter and joy and I
- 37:03Speaker 2: think like heartedness to them both choosing love. I think
- 37:07Speaker 2: it's solidifying their relationship. We have this envelope scenario. Where
- 37:13Speaker 2: As the celebration ensues, Jesse comes out and says, hey,
- 37:16Speaker 2: once again, let's make this a little bit weirder, a
- 37:18Speaker 2: little bit more complicated for all you watching. Not only
- 37:22Speaker 2: have you said no to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars,
- 37:26Speaker 2: there's a chance you could still win the two hundred
- 37:27Speaker 2: fifty thousand dollars because it's here on my plate, a
- 37:30Speaker 2: platter with an envelope. I want to know who behind
- 37:33Speaker 2: the scenes here at this point is going I got
- 37:35Speaker 2: an idea. We're going to present them with a platter
- 37:38Speaker 2: of in an envelope and they're gonna have to choose it.
- 37:42Speaker 2: That's gonna be how like the fans really want to
- 37:45Speaker 2: see this play out? Why not just give him the
- 37:47Speaker 2: two undre fifty thousand dollars It was already there. What's
- 37:49Speaker 2: we know? He has the cash in front of him.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Give both couples two hund and fifty grand let him
- 37:53Speaker 2: walk home free. Instead, they're choosing an envelope. I don't
- 37:57Speaker 2: understand what's happening.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Does get what? Now? We got your stereotypical and just
- 38:02Speaker 3: too expected for them to be like, because you chose
- 38:05Speaker 3: love both of you. We're gonna give you the money.
- 38:09Speaker 2: We're gonna take away sixty grand.
- 38:12Speaker 3: We're gonna save this though, thanks for thanks for letting
- 38:15Speaker 3: us fuck it this one. What the weirdest part is
- 38:18Speaker 3: that they just took like a matter of tens of
- 38:20Speaker 3: thousands away from each of the check It's very odd
- 38:24Speaker 3: to me. I don't understand why wey a balance. I
- 38:28Speaker 3: thought that was gonna make some sense there. And then
- 38:30Speaker 3: like the fact that Jess and Spencer get like forty
- 38:34Speaker 3: thousand more. Is that because like they took the plunge
- 38:36Speaker 3: and got engaged.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they did get an extra pay day. There
- 38:40Speaker 2: was like a yeah, there was like a benefit to
- 38:42Speaker 2: winning the challenge. I forgot that. So now the show
- 38:46Speaker 2: walks away with giving out what like I think one
- 38:49Speaker 2: made one hundred and twenty, another made one hundred and ninety.
- 38:51Speaker 2: They've now distributed three hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Three hundred and fifteen thousand, and they had five hundred
- 38:57Speaker 3: thousand pots supposedly, So.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Where does that go? Where does that go? I want
- 39:02Speaker 2: to know who gets the bonus? Jesse Wells Hannah who
- 39:05Speaker 2: here got the bonus?
- 39:06Speaker 3: Even in the episode.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Actually she doesn't get paid for it. Wells was Wells
- 39:10Speaker 2: in this episode. Yeah he was good.
- 39:13Speaker 3: He said he wanted to go home.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Yeah, well we I actually I don't understand. Anyways, they
- 39:20Speaker 2: open up an envelope, really exciting for both of them.
- 39:23Speaker 2: They both are making over one hundred grand that it's
- 39:25Speaker 2: nothing to scoff at. That's very exciting for both couples.
- 39:29Speaker 2: It is life changing in so many ways. I am
- 39:31Speaker 2: not mad at them for taking money. I am not
- 39:33Speaker 2: mad at the show for paying them money. I am
- 39:35Speaker 2: confused by the show still at what this five hundred
- 39:38Speaker 2: thousand dollars was and four and how you would actually
- 39:40Speaker 2: ever get it, or if it was always this carrot
- 39:43Speaker 2: dangling in front of you as these poor people ran
- 39:46Speaker 2: through the journey that is Paradise.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Can we make fun of one more thing? Do you
- 39:53Speaker 3: think that each check of all three on each platter
- 39:56Speaker 3: had the same number or do you think it was
- 39:59Speaker 3: like they actually had good or bad luck in choosing
- 40:03Speaker 3: the on flip that they did.
- 40:04Speaker 2: I think it was all substantial. I mean I think
- 40:05Speaker 2: Jesse said these checks all have a substantial amount of money.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Said up to two hundred and fifty. I don't know
- 40:11Speaker 3: if I believe that one. I think that all the
- 40:14Speaker 3: checks are the same.
- 40:15Speaker 2: It would have been hilarious if they open it up.
- 40:18Speaker 2: It's like ten grand just to see, like I want
- 40:22Speaker 2: to see somebody's real reaction to like giving ten thousand
- 40:25Speaker 2: dollars for going on a show. What a great accomplishment. Yeah,
- 40:28Speaker 2: so many people, but I think there there'd be a
- 40:30Speaker 2: little bit of a huh yeah.
- 40:32Speaker 3: But so you guys got a real bargaet on this one.
- 40:36Speaker 2: We do see Jess and Spencer get engage, and here
- 40:39Speaker 2: at the almost hear this podcast, we celebrate love.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Yes, congratulations guys, very very happy for you. We're also
- 40:47Speaker 3: like really curious about the fact that Jess that morning
- 40:50Speaker 3: seemed to not want to say yes but she did.
- 40:53Speaker 2: That always kind of makes me weird, Like I don't
- 40:55Speaker 2: love how the show. The show typically portrays somebody feeling
- 40:59Speaker 2: that way. I don't love it.
- 41:01Speaker 3: I don't think that it's even authentic, Like there could
- 41:04Speaker 3: have been some editing to that. They're usually probably it
- 41:07Speaker 3: or like they're you know, they have you say, can
- 41:11Speaker 3: you believe that you're getting engaged so or like soon
- 41:14Speaker 3: after meeting someone and they're like no, I really don't
- 41:17Speaker 3: know that I ever expected that I would do this,
- 41:19Speaker 3: and then it's like, but I would love to.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't love it. I wish we could have
- 41:24Speaker 2: just celebrated them. I was worried that she was going
- 41:25Speaker 2: to say no actually to engagement, and she didn't. It
- 41:28Speaker 2: didn't feel like there was a question in her mind.
- 41:30Speaker 2: The two of them are happy and healthy and living
- 41:32Speaker 2: their best life.
- 41:34Speaker 3: But says that they're taking it slow in the subtitles or.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Who doesn't you should? I mean this, you took it,
- 41:40Speaker 2: you took it real fast already.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Let's say he wanted to take it fast because he
- 41:44Speaker 3: wanted to have kids in the next two years.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well maybe we'll have a Paradise baby. I would
- 41:49Speaker 2: love to see more drama. Yeah, you know I I
- 41:53Speaker 2: So far, the Paradise babies have been absolutely gorgeous, beautiful
- 41:56Speaker 2: baby Yours included Tanner and Jades, so many others. But
- 42:02Speaker 2: I'm hoping they are a couple that we can celebrate
- 42:05Speaker 2: for years to come. Ashley, this is the finale of Paradise.
- 42:11Speaker 2: We started out this journey critical, not necessarily of the show,
- 42:16Speaker 2: but we liked what it was. We got to see
- 42:19Speaker 2: taste of the previous Paradise. This season with the camping
- 42:23Speaker 2: trip and those types of things. I loved it. I
- 42:25Speaker 2: wish they would have spent the night and out there,
- 42:27Speaker 2: but that was a different episode for a different time.
- 42:30Speaker 2: We got used. I got used to, at least the
- 42:33Speaker 2: modernization of how they were filming it.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Yeah, got used to it, for sure. But I also
- 42:38Speaker 3: think they toned it down. I think they went into
- 42:40Speaker 3: the editing room and were like, Okay, let's make it
- 42:43Speaker 3: a little slower.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I think they listened to us. I think they listened
- 42:46Speaker 2: to the almost famous podcasts and they said, Okay, this
- 42:48Speaker 2: is what they're asking for, let's do it. And I
- 42:50Speaker 2: think it benefited them in the end, because that's just
- 42:52Speaker 2: what we do here, we benefit people. As Paradise closes
- 42:58Speaker 2: with another season. Three main takeaways. My first one is this,
- 43:04Speaker 2: I overall enjoyed it. It was not it was not
- 43:08Speaker 2: a brutal watch for me. I did enjoy it. My
- 43:12Speaker 2: second one is this, and it's kind of two parts.
- 43:15Speaker 2: I think Jesse Palmer is doing a great job hosting
- 43:17Speaker 2: this show. I love Chris Harrison. I am obviously very
- 43:20Speaker 2: loyal to my buddy and who I think is one
- 43:22Speaker 2: of the best hosts of all time. But I think
- 43:24Speaker 2: Jesse Palmer is doing a great job, but Wells Adams
- 43:27Speaker 2: should be the host of Paradise. It's clear to me
- 43:29Speaker 2: than ever before, there was nothing Jesse did this season
- 43:32Speaker 2: that Wells couldn't do. And I guarantee you Wells is
- 43:35Speaker 2: so much cheaper than Jesse will be. So if you
- 43:38Speaker 2: really want to find five hundred thousand dollars extra, I
- 43:40Speaker 2: think there's a way to do it. I think Wells again.
- 43:46Speaker 2: My third takeaway is this, where was Hannah Brown? What
- 43:48Speaker 2: was she doing there?
- 43:49Speaker 3: To me? I felt really feel really bad, especially not
- 43:52Speaker 3: seeing her not being in this episode made it clear
- 43:55Speaker 3: that they send her home. Before this episode, they didn't
- 43:59Speaker 3: even say goodbye to her. The girl has been planning
- 44:01Speaker 3: a wedding, she had a book launch, and they like
- 44:04Speaker 3: brought her in there for absolutely nothing. She spent three weeks.
- 44:08Speaker 2: That's not a knock me saying that is not a
- 44:10Speaker 2: knock on Hannah Brown. I love you. I'm just saying
- 44:13Speaker 2: why was she there?
- 44:14Speaker 3: Like, no, why was she there? Because like she didn't
- 44:16Speaker 3: they like wanted to make a role for her just
- 44:18Speaker 3: because like her name is so big, but they didn't
- 44:20Speaker 3: really carve out enough of a role for her and
- 44:23Speaker 3: I just feel like I felt bad because she gave
- 44:26Speaker 3: a lot of time to it.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Ashley, what are your three takeaways?
- 44:30Speaker 3: My three takeaways? I think very much like you, I
- 44:34Speaker 3: felt it was enjoyable. The first two episodes were jarring.
- 44:38Speaker 3: I started getting used to it the third episode. Whether
- 44:41Speaker 3: or not like that is because they toned it down
- 44:43Speaker 3: because of feedback or whatnot, I did get and I
- 44:46Speaker 3: did get into it. I've enjoyed it much better than
- 44:49Speaker 3: the previous Bachelor season. I don't think they'll do it
- 44:54Speaker 3: this way again. They might use the same resort. I
- 44:58Speaker 3: think that we have two pretty solid couples, and Alex
- 45:01Speaker 3: and Andrew and Justin Spencer for sure, I could see
- 45:05Speaker 3: at least one of them ending in marriage. And then
- 45:10Speaker 3: the gameplay, I think I think that they can front
- 45:13Speaker 3: a happy medium. I think gameplay was actually really fun.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Whether or not like the money prize should I think
- 45:20Speaker 3: the money prize shouldn't be in it, but I think
- 45:22Speaker 3: like to show strength in couples, gameplay was good.
- 45:28Speaker 2: This has been another season broken down by the Almost
- 45:32Speaker 2: Famous Podcast. Paradise is over, but it doesn't mean we're
- 45:34Speaker 2: done here at the Almost Famous Podcast again, We're gonna
- 45:37Speaker 2: be with the contestants from Paradise, asking them all the
- 45:40Speaker 2: questions that you want to know, so please write us.
- 45:43Speaker 2: We will be asking them. We've been honest here about
- 45:46Speaker 2: our feelings on Paradise and the contestants and kind of
- 45:49Speaker 2: their journeys. We promised to always do that, and we
- 45:53Speaker 2: hope that these contestants will actually speak to us once
- 45:56Speaker 2: we see them in person tomorrow. Make sure you tune
- 45:58Speaker 2: into the last episode because the Bachelor did announce something
- 46:02Speaker 2: big the cruise ship. You can listen to the episode
- 46:05Speaker 2: that's already been posted to find out who's going to
- 46:07Speaker 2: be there, what this cruise is about, how long it's
- 46:08Speaker 2: gonna be, where it's going to be stopping, and why
- 46:10Speaker 2: you Yes, you should consider coming and getting a suntan
- 46:16Speaker 2: alongside the likes of just listen to the last podcast.
