- 0:49SPEAKER_03: I'm also the voice, the play-by-play voice on the road and at home.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: And for the last couple of years, I've been the voice of Airdrie Minor Hockey and also of the Airdrie Thunder.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: Now moving up to the big leagues, so to speak.
- 1:03SPEAKER_03: So super happy to be here.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: Thank you so much to the committee for hiring me, team president Daryl Lockwood, and also, of course, head coach BM Andrew Milne for allowing me to be here and allowing me to do this and get to know the wonderful people in this organization in this community, and of course, get to know the players.
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: I was super happy to be here, super excited to be here.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: Good start to the Eagles season two.
- 1:31SPEAKER_03: And oh, rocking.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: I gotta say, absolute rocking home opener.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: I was only part of a couple of Eagles games beforehand, before joining.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: And that home opener was something special.
- 1:44SPEAKER_03: I didn't realize just how packed this place gets.
- 1:47SPEAKER_03: And of course, that speaks to the culture and just how this team is run and how this community has rallied around this team, especially after the championship year last year.
- 1:57SPEAKER_03: Let's keep it rolling, Canmore, as we go into the season.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: And of course, last game, a six to four win over the old Grizzlies.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: Depending on when you hear this, we are on the road Friday as we take on Drum Heller in Drum Heller for their home opener.
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: That barn's going to be rocking, but the boys are going to be up for it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: And we got a great episode on tap.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: So let's just get jump right into it.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: Episode lengths are going to be about 30 minutes long.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: They're not going to be an hour long, depending on how long the interviews are.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: We got a great one this week.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: We sat down, or I sat down, with the captain and just talked about his career, his family, and just what it means to be a Cam or Eagle.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: You definitely don't want to miss that.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: You want to stick around.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: But first, let's take a look at the weekly recap.
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: As I mentioned, big, big six to four win over the old Grizzlies here at home on Tuesday.
- 2:52SPEAKER_03: Let's take a look at some of the highlights.
- 2:58SPEAKER_03: We are set and we are underway.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: Thanks for joining us on Flow Hockey as Landon Scott has it.
- 3:05SPEAKER_03: He'll play it to end singer.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: He'll bring it back to across the top five seconds left out with a one timer blocked.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: It's not a baby an opportunity for two.
- 4:35SPEAKER_03: It's not on the back end.
- 4:36SPEAKER_03: It's not one by the problem that's to be hard on the board.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: Second of the night!
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: ATHL championship.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: They score! That's Bill with a giveaway! I believe that was tipped.
- 5:05SPEAKER_03: I think it hit Reigns in front.
- 5:07SPEAKER_03: Good eyes there, Russ.
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: And that's Zayn Reigns first in the AJHL.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: His first of the season as well.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: Who played for the Prairie Hockey Academy last season?
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: And with 26.1 seconds left to go, it's now five to two.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: Timer.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: He gets the puck, doesn't shoot it.
- 5:23SPEAKER_03: Back to Rydell, down low fall.
- 5:26SPEAKER_03: That's backdoor.
- 5:27SPEAKER_03: They score.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: LaRose didn't get all of it, but somehow it finds a home.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: Just enough of it.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: And the five on three power play clicks.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: Now one for three, and the score is now five to three for the old Grizzlies with 24 seconds left to go in the second.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: As time, pressure on the playoff by Reigns, able to skate away from him.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: Long pass to Moran.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: He'll kick at it.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: Tits a shot as Greek going towards Death.
- 5:54SPEAKER_03: Unable to get it to him.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: And here comes Grizzlies.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: Two on two.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: Stopped by Ceno Remow! They score! Same Reigns has got two! And look up and it's now five to four.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: He misses again! Unbelievable going down! It's a Chuck! And he'll wrap it into the death! Chucky says, Don't worry, Dunster! I got it! And he'll wrap this up in a pretty blue! Aiden the Chuck's first of the season! Of course, as I mentioned, Eagles back in action tomorrow as they will take on the Drum Hella Dragons or Friday.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: Make sure you tune in next week before we hit the road for the weekly recap as well.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: Before we the sit-down interview with Aiden to Chuck, we have a message from our sponsor, Patty Shack Burger Bar.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Warning the following message may cause extreme hunger.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: We're talking juicy burgers, crispy fries, and flavor that'll have you coming back for more.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: At Patty Shack Burger Bar in Canmore, where they are serving up the kind of burgers that make you forget about everything else.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: So when the burger craving hits, you know where to go.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Patty Shack Burger Bar in Canmore.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Come hungry, leave happy.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: A proud supporter of your Canmore Eagles.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Thank you so much to Patty Shack Burger Bar for being our sponsor of this podcast this year.
- 7:24SPEAKER_03: Fantastic people.
- 7:25SPEAKER_03: Make sure you head on down to Patty Shack Burger Bar.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: Now it's the moment you've all been waiting for.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: It's our sit-down interview with the captain of the Camor Eagles this year, Aiden Touchak.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: Hey, what's going on for the sit-down interview sponsored by Patty Shack Camor?
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: And I'm here with, I think none other, the perfect person to have the first ever interview on the Eagles Weekly Captain Aiden Touchak.
- 7:51SPEAKER_03: Tatchuk, I believe it is, right, Chucky?
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: How many times do you get called like Touchuk?
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: Like well, it's more, it's more kachuk.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: And I've kind of just gotten used to it over the years to the point where I don't even correct it half the time.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: I think this year was the first year that we actually had to like pronounce it so then you guys could all get it right.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: And uh it feels weird watching stuff back and hearing Tachuk, so yeah.
- 8:11SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm trying to do it on the on the broadcast.
- 8:14SPEAKER_03: Definitely trying to, I don't know if you saw you're the hit of the game.
- 8:17SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: Hit of the game there.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: And it's so hard, like ta cha.
- 8:20SPEAKER_03: But either way, it's uh it's uh you know, it's all good.
- 8:24SPEAKER_03: But uh, you know, two and oh starting the season.
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: First of all, how's your summer?
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: Did you get uh up to no good?
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: What did you do?
- 8:31SPEAKER_03: Uh Saw that you went to uh Stampede, how was your Stampede?
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, it was good.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: Stamp Stampede's always a good time.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: No, I mean the summer was good, it was a bit shorter than the past summers, obviously going all the way to Centennial Cup.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, I wouldn't change it for the world, but no, it was good, got a lot of stuff done, worked a couple jobs, hung out with a lot of friends, went a couple trips.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: So it's good, it was a good time I'll spent.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: All right, so let's start at the beginning here.
- 8:54SPEAKER_03: Let's start back to young Aiden Tadchak.
- 8:57SPEAKER_03: My apologies.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: Uh growing up in Calgary from Calgary, Alberta.
- 9:01SPEAKER_03: What was your first real hockey memory?
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: Something that sticks in your mind where you're just like, man, I kind of want to this is the game I want to play.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: Uh I I remember I remember my minor hockey a lot, but the first one that sticks out was just probably Pee-Wee Prospects.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: First ever time, you know, trying out for a team beyond just the community.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: So that was pretty cool, like to make that team.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: Um, obviously, those friends that I played with back in the day are still my best friends to the to this day as well.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: So shout out those guys.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: Um and yeah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: No, it's all it's all good.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: Um, and then you played U18 AAA with the Calgary Royals there before joining the Eagles.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: Uh, what was the biggest adjustment going from that triple A game, uh U18 to playing in the AJHL with uh, you know, some essentially some grown men out there.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: What did you have to do both on and off the ice?
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: It was more just a maturity thing for sure.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, you go from being kind of the guy in U18 and then you go up a level and you realize, man, like these guys have been putting in the work for three years and they're just getting to like the game that they're getting to.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: I can't just step in here and be the man I want to be.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: So kind of just like, you know, following the leadership from the older guys, my first year and following their footsteps, learning what worked for them, what didn't work, and then kind of just listening to the coaches as well, not like overstepping and trying to be someone I'm not as well.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, that's what worked out.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: So you recorded 44 points in 38 games with the Royals your final season there, uh, before making the jump.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: Was there a particular game or conversation, maybe talking with uh Andrew Milne, maybe, or moment in the season during that that last year there that you realized that man, we I'm ready for the next step.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: I'm ready to go try for junior A, maybe WHL, college down the line.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: Like there, there's something here because unfortunately, as you know, not everybody makes it to that next level.
- 10:52SPEAKER_03: So yeah, when was there was there a like I said, a game conversation or moment that sticks out to you?
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: I I think it was for sure the Circle K Classic, my last year there in UAT, and I had a you know pretty good showing we have to go to the final semifinal, so that was pretty cool.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: And uh met with the staff there, that's kind of the first time ever interacting with them.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: They kind of just you know laid on the line what's what's happening, this like the situation we're in, you know, finish the season well and then have a chance to obviously play in Canmore.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: And once you kind of hear that you kind of have offers coming in from different spots, it's like, man, like this is this is getting a little real.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: Like you're kind of deciding what your next three years are gonna look like.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: And obviously you want to strive for the you know the highest level, but you also got to pick the best situation for you, um, where you're gonna play, what's close to home, where you're gonna fit in the best.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: And Canmore was just the perfect one.
- 11:38SPEAKER_03: Let's talk about that Circle K classic because it's the biggest U18 tournament in North America.
- 11:43SPEAKER_03: The yeah, like the who's who has played in that tournament.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: Was there any like big time guys you played against where you're just like, holy crap, like I'm playing against a potential like first round NHL or not saying that you're not a first round NHL or but you lined up across from and you're just like, holy cow!
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, I was pretty fortunate to play uh Daxon Rudolph in the final game there or second final game, the quarterfinals.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: And you know, he's obviously a great player, went first overall in his draft, WHL draft.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: And I like when you're playing in that tournament, you obviously you notice the people that's around you, but you're so kind of focused on your own team and just you're playing the game every single day, so it's you don't get as much time as you think to go around and watch everyone else play.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: But no, tons of players that are playing that tournament that are obviously in the NHL today.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: It's definitely a war of attrition.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: You're like you said, you're playing a game every single day, and it's during the Christmas break, so you're not even resting going back into the season, but it's a great tournament.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: Uh and just one last question about your time with the Royals.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: Was there a coach or a teammate from the Royals that you remember that just had like a huge impact on your career?
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: More than you realize now looking back in your final year here with the Eagles.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of course.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: So I was in Northwest for uh my U15 years, and then I got cut U16.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: And then actually had a coach John Petrash, who's coaching Devin now.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: He pulled me over from Northwest to the Royals U16, played there, had so many good teammates going to a new organization, knowing no one.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: It was pretty cool.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: And then Quinn Keeler, who's obviously defenseman now for our team, he kind of brought me in.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: We had a really good connection with the Royals as well.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: Going into our final year of U18, John actually got named head coach for that team as well.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: So Quinn obviously being back there, being our captain then.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: It kind of I've played with him every single year since then.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: So yeah, he's been a guy that's just you know been in the corner the whole time and just he's a great dude as well.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_03: So last season, you know, obviously championship, we gotta talk about we're only got two games in, right?
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: So take me back to the moment that final buzzer sounded in White Court.
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: You realize that you're AJHL champion.
- 13:44SPEAKER_03: What's a moment from the night that fans didn't get to see?
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: Maybe it was uh, you know, obviously let's keep PG here.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: What was something that you know fans didn't get to see?
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: Maybe a behind the scenes, maybe like a special moment with you know, the coaches or family, what optics out?
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: I gotta say, it's just that time we're in the locker room after you know, we're picking up our gloves, there's stuff all over the ice.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: I remember we were I remember eventually skating around the Gatorade that got poured on our coach, and we're going into the room, you know, music just starting to get turned on, and we were told pretty strictly no phones in the room.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: And um, I remember no one was on their phone, we're all just looking around in a circle, and it would we all just kind of soaked it in.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: I'm like, this is real, you know.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: Some maybe some champagne got brought out, but uh yeah, that's when the moment kind of hit.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: I was like, damn, this is real.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Like, we're not we're obviously we had this Nintendo Cup a couple weeks later, but right then in the moment, you're not looking at any more hockey, you're just looking at celebrating with these guys, and then hopping on the bus after to go back to the hotel.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: That was just like the coolest bus ride ever.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, usually you have your spots on the bus while you're sitting, and no one was sitting in their spots, everyone's walking around, sending videos, partying.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: It was awesome.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: So was there a moment during that championship run?
- 14:53SPEAKER_03: And we kind of talked about this before in pregame interviews, whether, you know, dress room, you had that meeting at the Legion there.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Was that like the moment where you're just like you looked across at everybody and everybody knew their role?
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: They're like, this is this is it, we're going to win this championship here.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, that's pretty much sums it up.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Our team was just so gelled in by the end of the year.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: Like, I love every single one of those guys, and we're bonded for life.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: And everyone just did their role so well and like to the T.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: And it's just everyone enjoyed it while we did it too.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: No one's upset any game.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: We had guys that aren't in the lineup and they're smiling throughout the ranks.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: So that just kind of brings everyone together, and it you know, it's good.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: So you're taking over the role of captain this year, you know, it was announced this summer.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: Uh um, you had the opportunity to learn from your last captain, Zabbo there.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: Um, what did you take from John, you know, Zabbo to that taught you about leadership and something that you're trying to carry forward as a captain this year?
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: No, John's a great dude, and he was he wouldn't always be the most talkative guy, but like just the way he carried himself on and off the ice, you know, his PK was something else.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: He would he would he would block shots and then he'd go in the power play and rip one T's far down.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: So he was a guy that could do everything, and obviously just a great dude off the ice you want to learn from.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: And he's respected.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: He's been in the WHL for four or five years or whatever.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: He's he's been there, he won a WHL championship as well.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: Like, this guy's the real deal, he's done it.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: So kind of just take what he does off the ice and on the ice and put it into my game was pretty cool to learn from.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: And then obviously, I'm fortunate with what happened with Casey, but Casey just being there in our corner as well.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: Like, great dude, great leader.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: So happy I kind of got both of those guys.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: And now they're playing together same.
- 16:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and they just follow each other all around, right?
- 16:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um, who was a teammate from last year's championship team?
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: You mentioned some guys that didn't get into the lineup, but they were just, you know, there smiling, supporting the boys, um, who contributed their contribution.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: You feel deserves more recognition.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: Some had like an unsung hero that was really important to that championship that, you know, maybe didn't put up the most points or just was uh just was integral to the championship win.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, I mean, I think everyone was obviously a huge role on our team, but I just I look at the two Miller Kromaninsky and Gus Show, those guys battled for the lineup every single night, and you just knew when they were playing that they're gonna be a wrecking ball on the ice.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: So those two are guys that's like we'd come to the rank and we don't we don't know who's playing, but you just know they're gonna be happy either way, they're gonna be scoring the team either way, and they're gonna put it on the line.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: So you spent several seasons here in Canmore.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: Um was there a particular moment when this community stopped being simply where you played hockey and it started to feel a little bit more like a second home that you know maybe down the line, hey, we could put some roots down in Canmore.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, like seriously, from the second I've been here, it's it's felt like home.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: Obviously, living close to Calgary, I get the opportunity to go home and see my actual family like time from time, but I've been blessed with great billets.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: It's they've made it feel like home from the second I've got here.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: So shout out to those guys as well.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: And then the community is unbelievable as well.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Like it just packed every single night.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: All the kids are so like so special, and they talk to you when you're out and about, and it's just been it's been out of this world.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: So speaking of kids, was there a memorable interaction with a fan, young hockey player?
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Obviously, we have Goose that runs around here, and uh during the ring ceremony, there's a a great shot of you and Dows holding up the the championship trophy for him as he's holding it above his head.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: But is there somebody in the community that's you know it's gonna stay with you, you know, that's stick with you throughout your time as an eagle and it's gonna, you know, live, you know, stick with you after your time as an eagle.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I can't pick a point on one person.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: I feel like it's just all the kids after the game given fist fumps, those guys will always be, you know, a clear snapshot memory.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Uh but also what we've like what Goose has got to experience here as well, you know.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Trevor, he's like a he's like a brother to me.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: So him getting to also come and experience Canmore, experience the fans, experience the game, come on bus trips, come up to White Court, like just for him to experience that as well, I'll always cherish.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: So when you see a young fan maybe wearing number 29, you know, with the Tatchuk on the back, or waiting outside the dressing room as you mentioned for a fist bump autograph.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: Uh, does that bring you back to being that age?
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: Is there a player that you know you were that there that you were just so fired up to bump fists with or to get that autograph?
- 19:18SPEAKER_03: Who was that player?
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: I I mean it's probably my brother, Drew.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: I remember going to a lot of his games, even to the even to the second he was playing junior B back home.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: So he was al I always loved watching them.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Even if like for him, it wasn't always about hockey, it was about the experience, being with the guys, you know, learning, hanging out.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: And that's what I kind of take out of his game as well.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: I just enjoying the moment.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: So he was someone I always loved watching, being with the family, going to watch him, but besides that, I can't really think of anyone else.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: What let's talk about your family.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: So you bring mentioned your brother Drew, met him last night as well.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: He was waiting for you after the game.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: Uh, what sacrifice has your family made for your hockey career that you didn't really fully appreciate now you know back then when you were younger, but now you you notice what was what does that just mean to you just having a family that supports you?
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Oh, it means the world.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: I could go on and on.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: I could go all day.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: But um they I don't think I still don't think they've missed more than one game a season the past two.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: And I don't think they're gonna miss any games this year as well.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: Um I always remember like not having my license back when I was 15 or whatever, and my dad would have to drive 20 minutes out to Spring Bank High School, pick me up, drive me another 20 to Stupa Pard, then another 20, wait for me to finish practice, then drive me all the way home.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: And he's a downtown guy.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: So he's that's a that's a big commitment for himself right there.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: And that's what I appreciate most.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: But they've always just been there, they've always come to all the games.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Brothers have always been great, and yeah.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: What what kind of battles have you had with your brothers?
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: So you mentioned your brother Drew there.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: Do you remember like a particular like maybe mini stick battle or ODR battle where it's just like I'm gonna scrap this guy, like the gloves flying or something that sticks up in your mind that you're looking back, and it's just like, man, like to go back to those are the real those were the times.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: What what moments stands up to you there?
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: There was I I feel like we never really actually fought each other as much as you know, other brothers like the douse and stuff like that.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: You know, there'd be the it'd be the odd you know, battle and older brothers picking on the younger brother.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: But one memory I remember just during COVID, we had a good 2v2 mini stack mini stick game.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: Probably played like 400 games during COVID, had a little trophy for that too.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: So that was fun just to kind of hang out with those guys.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: But obviously, we're all competitors and we all always want to win.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: But there was no real moment where I really thought I was gonna beat the crap out of him, or he's just beat the crap out of me.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: So that's good, at least.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: So knowing that this is your final year here in Canmore, are there moments around the weight rink or with your teammates right now or around Canmore that you're you're making a conscious effort to appreciate and kind of lock in the memory bag, just taking a time uh just taking a step just to you know, appreciate it a little bit more?
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: Is there moments there?
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: A hundred percent.
- 21:57SPEAKER_02: I for me, um it's probably just Petrinos and the Summit Cafe.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Honestly, like a Summit Cafe.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: I don't think if it's an Eagles game day, you will not not see me there.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I'll be there every single morning.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, like a bunch of the guys will always go there.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: And then just the Petrinos, too, the Wing Wednesdays, those type of things, like the guys will just never, never skip out on.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: Of course, Petrinos and Summit Cafe, proud sponsors of the Camor Eagles there.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: Couple more questions for you there, Chucky, and then we're going to do a fun little uh fun little game here.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: Um, when your time with the Eagles eventually comes to an end, whether it's you know raising a the Centennial Cup this year, hopefully it's going to be that.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: Let's be honest.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: Uh that's the that's the goal this year, unfinished business.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: But uh, what do you hope your teammates, organization, the people of Camor remember most about Aiden Tetra?
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: I hope uh for me, I hope it's just a smile on the face.
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: I try to be as positive as a guy as I can be.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: Obviously, things aren't always gonna go your way, but I just hope people remember me as a genuine guy.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: That's that's the biggest thing I can ask for.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I I don't really know what else.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: Um that's pretty much it.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: No, it's uh it's all good.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: Uh obviously, you have such a big effect uh to this community here.
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: It's been an honor to get to know you over this month and can't wait for the rest of the season here.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna give you an opportunity here to kind of get let the people at Camor get to know your teammates, maybe sewer them a little bit here.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna ask you a question and uh just it's gonna be about your teammates.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Just give me an answer and a reason why, just really quick here.
- 23:28SPEAKER_03: So uh obviously today Cohen Dells was named the funniest guy in the room when he's not at he thinks he's the funniest guy, but uh who spends the most time looking in the mirror before a game?
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: Get making sure the hair gets right, or maybe even um when he's skating warm-ups, he's looking at himself in the glass, just checking himself out.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: I I'll just go Ryder Dembo.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: Rider Dembo.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: He always has the perfect hair, so maybe that's I'll give it to him for that one.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: Who has the worst pregame outfit on the team?
- 23:57SPEAKER_03: Like worst style.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: Everyone has pretty good.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: I I would say Berkeley Kaflick.
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: Burke won't like that, that's for sure.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: Who's the biggest yapper on the ice but goes completely quiet when the game gets physical?
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: I don't care.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: Let's just say Owen Mashdore.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: But he he won't get quiet when it gets physical, he'll keep yapping, but big hit the other night for Master as well.
- 24:23SPEAKER_03: Um who's the biggest beauty on the team and uh Owen Masheroni.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: And who's and that's all good, and then who's the biggest pigeon?
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: Owen's the biggest beauty, he's a super beauty.
- 24:34SPEAKER_02: And the biggest pigeon?
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, we don't really got any pigeons on our team this year.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Uh we don't want to have to pass.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: I'll have to come back.
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: That's a probably that's probably a good answer there.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: That's probably a good answer.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: Who's the worst roommate on road trips and what makes him so bad?
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: The worst roommate.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: You you can even go in the past too.
- 24:56SPEAKER_03: You can even go in the past.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: I'll I'll just say Cohen Dows just because the Centennial cop.
- 25:01SPEAKER_02: And let's just say we have a little bit of different pregame rituals, and maybe that's why we shouldn't have been the best roommate.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: So if you're if the team got stranded in the wilderness around Camor, who would survive the longest and who would be the first to essentially die?
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: First to survive.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: Who would survive the longest?
- 25:21SPEAKER_02: Uh I'll go Hudson Sito survive the longest.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: Probably you know one of the smarter dudes.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: And to go first is again is Berkeley Coughlin.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Why Burke?
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Why Burke?
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: Uh he's just probably not.
- 25:35SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's he claims he's blue collar and he can handle himself, but I haven't seen it firsthand, so that's the reason.
- 25:41SPEAKER_03: He did show me a video of him uh throwing around sheet metal this summer here.
- 25:46SPEAKER_03: So I I don't know if he just put on boots and he was just doing that, but uh a couple more questions here.
- 25:51SPEAKER_03: If you had one teammate to let you cook dinner, who would you trust and who would you not let near a kitchen?
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Hudson Sido, because he's a great cook.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: And not let near a kitchen again is probably uh I feel like I keep saying Cody Dows, but I just don't know if he's the best cook.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: Um I'll go Will Ludick.
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: Will Ludick?
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: Why Lutz?
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: Because he you know he's gluten free and I don't see him eating all the food that he makes.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: It seems to be food that's come from somewhere else.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: Who is most likely to get you in trouble with the coaching staff?
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: I think I know the answer to this, but I'm going to just keep stay silent.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: I've been thrown under the bus a couple times by Cohen.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: So go to Sass Delester for sure.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: Uh besides that, I I would I don't know.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: Like that's it, maybe.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: No one really throws anyone in the bus.
- 26:40SPEAKER_02: We got a good squad.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: That's a good squad.
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: Okay, last question here.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: Um Who's the biggest cheap cheapstake on the team?
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: Somebody who you just go out with, isn't paying the bill, just looking for free handouts there.
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: No, I don't think anyone looks out for free handouts, but Cole Wadsworth, this guy will not come out and eat with the boys because he's always saving money.
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's fair.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: Okay, so Chucky, thank you so much for being the first ever uh interview here on the podcast.
- 27:07SPEAKER_03: Really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule.
- 27:09SPEAKER_03: Thanks, Chris.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: Um, the airdree, sorry, the airdree.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: I'm used to saying airgy.
- 27:13SPEAKER_03: Okay, more Eagles or it will be in action taking on Drum Heller Friday night.
- 27:17SPEAKER_03: You can find that on flow and find this guy who scored his first goal the other day into an open net, uh cleaning up Cohen Dells' mess there.
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: Um but uh Chucky, thanks for joining us.
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: Thanks, Chris.
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: Appreciate it.
- 27:29SPEAKER_03: Super thanks to Chucky for sitting down, just a fantastic human being, first of all.
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: Uh an unreal hockey player, one of the most skilled hockey players.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: I had the honor of watching um game in and game out.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: But uh just a fantastic human, a great leader.
- 27:45SPEAKER_03: He's loved in the room by his teammates, and just the sky's the limit for this kid.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: He's definitely one that you're gonna want to watch out for, and uh, we're gonna watch his career closely.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: But the season's just starting, and I can't wait to see what he does in an Eagles sweater this season.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: And this episode of the Camore Eagles podcast, of course, is brought to you by Pattyshack Burger Bar here in Camor.
