- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to the Mark Simone show.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 0:11Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Robert
- 0:13Speaker 2: in Westchester. Robert, how you doing good morning?
- 0:17Speaker 3: Marks?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Are you there?
- 0:21Speaker 4: Hello? Yeah?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, right?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Not happening, right? Can you sing?
- 0:28Speaker 4: What?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Hey? Calls? Back here? Your line is cracking up. Let's
- 0:32Speaker 2: go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how you doing?
- 0:35Speaker 4: Good morning? Mark?
- 0:36Speaker 3: I'm doing very well, Thank you.
- 0:38Speaker 5: Mark. While waiting on hold, I just saw an alert
- 0:41Speaker 5: that Ted Turner has passed away at age eighty seven.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yeah, well we just mentioned that.
- 0:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm sorry. Perhaps I didn't hear it because I
- 0:50Speaker 5: was on hold. I was going to address the the
- 0:54Speaker 5: roarn with Iran. Okay, we've pretty much destroyed the military capabilities,
- 0:59Speaker 5: as every one knows. What I wanted to ask you
- 1:02Speaker 5: is what's the status on the war between Russia and Ukraine?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Because I know President Zelenski was complaining that we are
- 1:11Speaker 5: not sending enough missiles for him to battle Russia.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good question.
- 1:17Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's funny, Ukraine, what is this year five of this war?
- 1:21Speaker 2: Year five? You never hear about it anymore? When was
- 1:23Speaker 2: the less time anybody brought up Ukraine. But you know,
- 1:27Speaker 2: we lived in fear all our lives of the Soviet
- 1:30Speaker 2: Union their military might, and then Russia superpower. Russia with
- 1:34Speaker 2: the military the superpower. Now we watch them go to
- 1:37Speaker 2: war with this little country and they can't get anything done.
- 1:40Speaker 2: They can't fight. It's not much of an army, they
- 1:44Speaker 2: can't do much of anything. They don't have any kind
- 1:47Speaker 2: of sophisticated weapons. They don't even have night vision. And
- 1:51Speaker 2: little tiny Ukraine has not only held them off for
- 1:53Speaker 2: five years, but if you really analyze this war, you'd
- 1:57Speaker 2: have to give the slight edge to Ukraine. They're doing
- 1:59Speaker 2: a little better than Russia. Is Russia getting nothing done,
- 2:03Speaker 2: not taking much territory. They cannot fight, They've lost hundreds
- 2:08Speaker 2: of thousands of soldiers. The Ukraine getting better and better
- 2:12Speaker 2: every year at this the longer range missiles, longer range drones.
- 2:17Speaker 2: You know, there was a parade that they wanted to
- 2:18Speaker 2: do in Russia. They can't do it now because they're
- 2:20Speaker 2: afraid Ukraine will blow up the parade. They're actually in
- 2:23Speaker 2: fear of Ukraine.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Now.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's an amazing story of how much we over estimated
- 2:28Speaker 2: the Russian military let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 2:31Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, Yes, Mike.
- 2:35Speaker 1: One of the best things about that Rubio press conference
- 2:38Speaker 1: was that he was really busting their chops, which is very,
- 2:41Speaker 1: very enjoyable. And to that point, there was another ceremony
- 2:45Speaker 1: yesterday that president helped with the presidents, the presidential fitness
- 2:50Speaker 1: test people back and he had a crater away yet
- 2:52Speaker 1: Gary Player there and Buyson Dye Chambeau and Noah Syndergard
- 2:56Speaker 1: and a couple of people from the cabinet and he
- 2:59Speaker 1: opens it up a bunch of kids, of course, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: he opens it up the questions and it's all about
- 3:03Speaker 1: it Ran and it's like the press is so tone
- 3:05Speaker 1: dep This guy does great things all day long, as
- 3:08Speaker 1: the ceremonies, and they never you never hear about it
- 3:11Speaker 1: unless you happen to be on some weird you know,
- 3:13Speaker 1: internet page and they have a videolate to it.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very tough to run a democracy, you're right,
- 3:18Speaker 2: without working media. We don't have any actual news media.
- 3:21Speaker 2: It was a wonderful event. You remember at one point
- 3:23Speaker 2: he took the kids, these young young kids there were golfers,
- 3:27Speaker 2: and he gave him a putting lesson. It was pretty interesting. Yep, yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 2: it was great, and he.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Was cracking jokes.
- 3:33Speaker 1: He goes, oh, I work out tremendously at least a
- 3:36Speaker 1: minute the day.
- 3:38Speaker 4: He's so self deprecating. And they'd only ended. The first
- 3:42Speaker 4: question is what about I ran?
- 3:44Speaker 1: And it's like, come on, you know, read the room
- 3:47Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 3:48Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, very good point. Thanks for calling, Mike. Yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 2: so if you're a CNN, MSNBC watcher New York Times reader,
- 3:56Speaker 2: you're not getting the news. You have no idea what
- 3:58Speaker 2: happened yesterday. It was a pretty interest and he was
- 4:00Speaker 2: great with those kids, and it was a great putting lesson. Hey,
- 4:03Speaker 2: he's a great I've played golf with him dozens of times.
- 4:06Speaker 2: He's a phenomenal golfer. You know, even at his age,
- 4:09Speaker 2: you'll lose some distance, you don't have as much turn
- 4:12Speaker 2: in your swing, but he can still win. Let's go
- 4:16Speaker 2: to Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich how you doing?
- 4:19Speaker 4: Hey? Thanks Mark. Two quick points. Number one, they didn't
- 4:22Speaker 4: try to screw Steve Hilton too bad in that debate
- 4:24Speaker 4: left and I watched him with it, and they were
- 4:26Speaker 4: actually pretty fat to him and the other Republican there
- 4:29Speaker 4: as well. And I saw DeSantis signed a new redistrict
- 4:33Speaker 4: ring back for map for Florida. And yesterday's South Carolina
- 4:37Speaker 4: announced they're going to redistrict the state of South Carolina.
- 4:40Speaker 4: She reads that race and they're racist, and crook Clyburn
- 4:43Speaker 4: will probably out of a job here in South Carolina.
- 4:45Speaker 4: We after sixty five years in the job.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Well, Anybates in Congress the sixty five years should be
- 4:50Speaker 2: out of a job, anybody. But it's a good point, Rich, Yeah, yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 2: Steve Hilton, he's a great debater, very tough to be.
- 4:57Speaker 2: You know, if DeSantis pulls this off, Republicans pick up
- 5:01Speaker 2: four extra seats in Florida. They'll do this in a
- 5:04Speaker 2: few other states. So that really has a big effect
- 5:07Speaker 2: on the midterms. Let's go to Tom in Connecticut. Tom,
- 5:10Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 5:13Speaker 4: Mark?
- 5:14Speaker 3: I unfortunately live in the communist state of Connecticut.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not all communists. There's nice parts of Connecticut.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Where do you live in Connecticut? That's not one of them.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Okay, So yesterday I heard that Governor Lamont signed a
- 5:31Speaker 3: bill that ice agents can't wear men. Yeah, how can
- 5:35Speaker 3: a state? And Ice is a federal agencies?
- 5:38Speaker 4: It not?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't know if that'll hold up anywhere. That's uh,
- 5:42Speaker 2: that's a sad story. It's a good point, Tom, thanks
- 5:44Speaker 2: for calling. Yet, ned Lamont was a pretty good governor
- 5:48Speaker 2: because he had been a businessman. He'd been in the
- 5:50Speaker 2: business world. He was realistic, he was pragmatic. It was
- 5:53Speaker 2: a pretty good governor. But now you know, with all
- 5:55Speaker 2: this crazy uh Democratic Party going totally crazy, he has
- 5:59Speaker 2: to pretend he's a left wing kook like everybody else.
- 6:02Speaker 2: He's up for election this year and it'll be the
- 6:05Speaker 2: Republican candidate will be Ryan Fozzio. Most likely, he's got
- 6:09Speaker 2: like a ninety eight percent chance of winning that primary.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So he's going very left just to just to win
- 6:15Speaker 2: over that crowd. Hey, when we come back, Howie Carr
- 6:18Speaker 2: will be with us, one of the great talk show
- 6:19Speaker 2: hosts in America. We'll talk to him next on seven
- 6:22Speaker 2: to ten WR
