- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio. If I've said it once, I've said it
- 0:18Speaker 1: a thousand times. There is no off season. Welcome to
- 0:23Speaker 1: a Tuesday edition, a busy edition of NFL Now on
- 0:27Speaker 1: NFL Network. From our newsroom in Los Angeles. My name
- 0:30Speaker 1: is Andrews Siciliano. Coming up, We're going to talk to
- 0:33Speaker 1: a couple of guys who a week ago we're hoisting
- 0:35Speaker 1: the Lombardi Trophy, had a pretty fun parade. Willie Gay
- 0:39Speaker 1: and Trent McDuffie, two key pieces of that chief's defense,
- 0:43Speaker 1: said to join us a little bit later. I say
- 0:45Speaker 1: there is no offseason. Today's a perfect example of a
- 0:48Speaker 1: window opening, and it is news. Today is the very
- 0:51Speaker 1: first day that teams can apply the franchise tag to
- 0:55Speaker 1: their soon to be free agents. Let's start, say in Baltimore,
- 1:00Speaker 1: where there is a certain quarterback set to hit free agency,
- 1:04Speaker 1: but we all always likely not to get to total
- 1:07Speaker 1: free agency. Tom Delasero, Mike Giardi, James Palmer with me.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson's contract is up, so you would have to
- 1:13Speaker 1: think that in these fourteen days, if they can't get
- 1:16Speaker 1: a deal done. The Ravens Tom we've reported would use
- 1:19Speaker 1: that tag. But if you use that tag, then does
- 1:23Speaker 1: that help or hurt a long term deal? Give us
- 1:26Speaker 1: the latest on Lamar jacks under all options remain on
- 1:31Speaker 1: the table for Lamar Jackson, the Ravens who have been
- 1:34Speaker 1: trying to get a long term deal done for over
- 1:37Speaker 1: a year now. There are two different types of franchise tags,
- 1:40Speaker 1: and which one the Ravens would ultimately apply may give
- 1:44Speaker 1: you a window in what direction they anticipate this going.
- 1:46Speaker 1: The first one is the exclusive franchise tag, which would
- 1:49Speaker 1: prevent Jackson from negotiating with any other team. That would
- 1:53Speaker 1: also give the Ravens the ability to potentially shop and
- 1:57Speaker 1: figure out what type of trade market there is for
- 1:59Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson, although he would have veto power over any
- 2:02Speaker 1: trade because he would need to sign that franchise tender
- 2:05Speaker 1: to facilitate a deal. The other option is the non
- 2:08Speaker 1: exclusive franchise tag, which would allow Jackson to negotiate with
- 2:12Speaker 1: other teams. That took algo a couple of different directions here.
- 2:15Speaker 1: If Lamar would end up signing an offer sheet with
- 2:18Speaker 1: a different team, the Ravens could match it, basically having
- 2:21Speaker 1: let some other team do their dirty work. And getting
- 2:23Speaker 1: a deal done with Jackson, or if they did not
- 2:26Speaker 1: match it, then they could let him go for two
- 2:28Speaker 1: first round picks. March seventh is the deadline for applying
- 2:31Speaker 1: that tag. As you mentioned, I would anticipate and they
- 2:34Speaker 1: certainly planned to apply that tag if there's no breakthrough
- 2:36Speaker 1: in the negotiations. But what that means moving forward at
- 2:40Speaker 1: that point would be both in the Ravens and in
- 2:42Speaker 1: Lamar's hands. Tom It's been very interesting, right because I
- 2:46Speaker 1: felt like last year going into the offseason that the
- 2:49Speaker 1: Ravens and Lamar Jackson appeared to be in a better place,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and then the way this year went with the injuries
- 2:55Speaker 1: and he's going to be back in one to three weeks,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and then he never came back, and some of the
- 3:00Speaker 1: chances that John Harbaugh had to sort of snuff out
- 3:03Speaker 1: any possibility that they were some discord between the two sides.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Bothers me a little bit, and I think Lamar has
- 3:11Speaker 1: with no representation, you're not necessarily getting his side of
- 3:14Speaker 1: the story. Occasionally he comes out on social media and
- 3:17Speaker 1: says something. He said some things and then takes them down,
- 3:21Speaker 1: like where is he at? Does he still want to
- 3:23Speaker 1: be a Baltimore Raven. And to your point on the tags,
- 3:26Speaker 1: the non exclusive one is interesting to me because yes,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you can set the tone and something, you can match
- 3:31Speaker 1: that deal. But two first round picks for Lamar Jackson
- 3:34Speaker 1: after what Russell Wilson just went for, Like, that's a
- 3:37Speaker 1: roll of the dice, and are you willing to just
- 3:39Speaker 1: let Lamar walk for two first knowing by the way
- 3:42Speaker 1: that well, if Lamar's on that team and he's healthy,
- 3:44Speaker 1: that team's gonna be pretty good. And using the exclusive
- 3:47Speaker 1: franchise tag is clearly more expensive time you just laid
- 3:50Speaker 1: that out, but it also gives you the opportunity and
- 3:52Speaker 1: both tags gives you the opportunity if the player is
- 3:54Speaker 1: willing to sign that tag about working your own deal out,
- 3:58Speaker 1: so you can put that tag on and do a
- 4:00Speaker 1: deal for less than two number ones for more than
- 4:02Speaker 1: two number ones. But obviously when you put the tag down,
- 4:07Speaker 1: it sends a message to the player. Here if you
- 4:09Speaker 1: say is a non exclusive tag, that go ahead, look
- 4:14Speaker 1: around and then you have to work through that damage.
- 4:17Speaker 1: They're moving forward, all right. You can only use one
- 4:19Speaker 1: franchise tag. You can't put it on two players. So
- 4:24Speaker 1: when you have a team, say Tom like the New
- 4:26Speaker 1: York Giants that have a quarterback and Daniel Jones, and
- 4:28Speaker 1: a running back like say Quon Barkley, who are both
- 4:31Speaker 1: hitting free agency. There is a bit of a conundrum.
- 4:34Speaker 1: What's the latest there? Well again, Andrew, you got two
- 4:39Speaker 1: weeks now to figure something out, and as you mentioned,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you can only use one tag between the two of them.
- 4:44Speaker 1: In a perfect world, the Giants, Shirley would try to
- 4:46Speaker 1: work out that long term deal with Daniel Jones, given
- 4:49Speaker 1: it the franchise tag number for quarterbacks upwards a thirty
- 4:52Speaker 1: two million dollars, and as you see, the running back
- 4:54Speaker 1: number is barely ten million dollars that would be applied
- 4:57Speaker 1: to a say Quon Barkley. However, Daniel Jones certainly is
- 5:00Speaker 1: aware and so is say Quon Barkley and their representatives
- 5:03Speaker 1: that the Giants have to tag one of them, that
- 5:07Speaker 1: can only take one of them, and ideally would get
- 5:09Speaker 1: a deal done with the other one. Most quarterback deals
- 5:12Speaker 1: that have gotten done, if you look over the last
- 5:13Speaker 1: couple of years, have started with a four. It's been
- 5:15Speaker 1: upwards of forty million dollars per year. If Jones were
- 5:19Speaker 1: to get tagged and then tagged a second time, we're
- 5:21Speaker 1: tired about making seventy million dollars over two years. So
- 5:23Speaker 1: the downside for Jones potentially and not taking whatever the
- 5:27Speaker 1: best offer is on a long term deal is still
- 5:29Speaker 1: pretty decent. And that would also move him closer to
- 5:32Speaker 1: unfettered free agency. So I would certainly anticipate the Giants
- 5:35Speaker 1: will continue negotiating on both fronts. Jones has recently changed
- 5:39Speaker 1: representation as well, and so we'll see what direction that goes.
- 5:42Speaker 1: But the clock is ticking, yeah, And usually you change
- 5:46Speaker 1: representation because you think that the other agent can get
- 5:48Speaker 1: you more money than your current agent. That generally things
- 5:52Speaker 1: see how these things work. So maybe Daniel Jones does
- 5:54Speaker 1: see the four in front of it and says that's
- 5:56Speaker 1: where I belong at this point in my career. But
- 5:58Speaker 1: just a year ago, the Giants pretty much told you
- 6:01Speaker 1: that they weren't sure, and they didn't extend him, they
- 6:03Speaker 1: didn't give pick up the fifth year option, and they
- 6:05Speaker 1: put him in this place. And if you watch the
- 6:07Speaker 1: way they played this year, they manage Daniel Jones, and
- 6:10Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with that because he did a nice
- 6:12Speaker 1: job being managed by Brian Dayball. But it doesn't appear
- 6:15Speaker 1: to me like Daniel Jones is the guy that elevates
- 6:18Speaker 1: your team to the next place that you need more
- 6:20Speaker 1: pieces around him. And this is a roster quite frankly
- 6:23Speaker 1: that still is shy of a lot of pieces at
- 6:25Speaker 1: this point, and maybe committing that much of that much
- 6:28Speaker 1: money to Daniel Jones doesn't make sense when you could
- 6:30Speaker 1: probably get someone significantly cheaper and get similar production. Right,
- 6:35Speaker 1: It's fascinating. And again it's a two week window here.
- 6:38Speaker 1: How do you use the tag? On? Whom do you
- 6:40Speaker 1: use the tag? And then teams have until Midsummer. Really
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's almost until training camp July fifteenth to work out
- 6:47Speaker 1: a long term deal with the players that they have tag.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You could also rescind the tag. We saw that years
- 6:52Speaker 1: ago with Dave Gentleman and Josh Norman and Carolina with
- 6:54Speaker 1: a corner eventually ended up in Washington. The numbers are
- 6:57Speaker 1: really interesting. I mean, depending on the position, the running
- 7:00Speaker 1: back number tom is not really high. I mean it's
- 7:04Speaker 1: ten million. So how about the curious case of Josh Jacobs,
- 7:07Speaker 1: guy who led the league in rushing? What's his story? Lander?
- 7:12Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs is not only the league leader in rushing,
- 7:14Speaker 1: but he's also a core part of what they're trying
- 7:16Speaker 1: to build programmatically right now with the Raiders, so absolutely
- 7:19Speaker 1: anticipate the Raiders will try to get something done with
- 7:22Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs. If they can't, then the franchise tag is
- 7:25Speaker 1: certainly an option. You mentioned it that ten million dollars
- 7:27Speaker 1: number is relatively reasonable, especially compared to other positions here,
- 7:31Speaker 1: So you could see other running backs, whether it's a
- 7:33Speaker 1: Tony Pollard among others, who potentially could end up getting
- 7:36Speaker 1: tagged as well. So let's talk about the Commanders in
- 7:38Speaker 1: their situation with Dron Payne, who, as Ron Rivera said recently,
- 7:42Speaker 1: they're fine with the fact that by declining his fifth
- 7:45Speaker 1: year option that they got the best out of drown
- 7:48Speaker 1: Pain they thought last season, but it now puts him
- 7:49Speaker 1: in a position where he could be looking at well
- 7:52Speaker 1: upwards a twenty five million dollars per year on a
- 7:54Speaker 1: long term extension. If they can't get that done, then
- 7:56Speaker 1: the franchise tag, which will be a ride around nineteen
- 7:59Speaker 1: million dollars for a defensive lineman, would potentially become an
- 8:02Speaker 1: option for him as well. Then he got the Kansas
- 8:04Speaker 1: City Chief Orlando Brown Junior, who was their franchise tag
- 8:07Speaker 1: player a year ago of course, they acquired him from
- 8:10Speaker 1: the Ravens. He wanted to play left tackle, is a
- 8:12Speaker 1: tribute to his father, also felt that was his best position,
- 8:15Speaker 1: got that opportunity. They did not get a deal done
- 8:17Speaker 1: in advance, ended up tagging him last year. A second
- 8:20Speaker 1: tag this year would cost nearly twenty million dollars for
- 8:23Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs and also put them in a
- 8:25Speaker 1: position where while you can tag a player a third time,
- 8:28Speaker 1: the number is so astronomical that that rarely happened. So
- 8:32Speaker 1: can they get a deal done with Orlando Brown Junior
- 8:34Speaker 1: this time around? They'd made what they thought was a
- 8:36Speaker 1: strong offer last year, he opted to bet on himself,
- 8:39Speaker 1: wanted more guaranteed money. If they can't get it done,
- 8:42Speaker 1: then there is that possibility in a couple of weeks
- 8:44Speaker 1: here the Brown could end up being tagged again as well.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And that seems like the most likely outcome right now
- 8:50Speaker 1: where this stands, because if you remember last year when
- 8:52Speaker 1: they tagged him, and you mentioned that they made a
- 8:54Speaker 1: strong offer in their mind to where they thought the
- 8:57Speaker 1: value was was not very close to where Orlando Brown
- 9:00Speaker 1: valued himself, and that's why he went out and bet
- 9:02Speaker 1: on himself. But what goes on in this offensive line
- 9:05Speaker 1: this offseason and moving forward is the interesting part of
- 9:08Speaker 1: how Brett Beach has to navigate this group that he
- 9:10Speaker 1: rebuilt so well to protect Patrick Mahomes because there's Orlando
- 9:13Speaker 1: Brown on the left side, which teams like the Bengals
- 9:16Speaker 1: thought he was the weak link on this offensive line
- 9:19Speaker 1: heading into that AFC title game, but obviously he played
- 9:21Speaker 1: very well there, played well in the Super Bowl against
- 9:23Speaker 1: Brandon Graham protecting Patrick Mahomes. But their other tackle and
- 9:26Speaker 1: Andrew Wiley, also a free agent at the right tackle spot,
- 9:29Speaker 1: who played brilliantly against a Son Reddick in the Super
- 9:32Speaker 1: Bowl and only cost them two point two million dollars
- 9:34Speaker 1: a year ago. You would assume that number is going
- 9:36Speaker 1: to go. Patrick Mahomes thinks the world of Andrew Wiley,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and then Andrew on the interior side, they think Creed
- 9:42Speaker 1: Humphreys is one of the best centers in all of football.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Trey Smith, the right guard, they believe is the most
- 9:46Speaker 1: talented guy of this group, and Joe Tooney kind of
- 9:49Speaker 1: the leader of this group. And cat number jumps up
- 9:51Speaker 1: to twenty two million after it was about eight million
- 9:54Speaker 1: this past season because the second half of his contract
- 9:56Speaker 1: kicking in some money down the road, and other spots
- 9:59Speaker 1: on this offensive line should be coming in. It's gonna
- 10:02Speaker 1: be interesting to see how Brett Beach values Orlando Brown
- 10:04Speaker 1: this office season as he weighs in the next offseason
- 10:07Speaker 1: after the twenty twenty three year, where he has to
- 10:09Speaker 1: look at Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith in terms of
- 10:12Speaker 1: possible contract those guys still on rookie contracts, Joe Tuney
- 10:14Speaker 1: as they rebuilt that line after the loss of the
- 10:16Speaker 1: Bucketeers in the Super Bowl, reset the market for interior lineman.
- 10:21Speaker 1: But as you said, that number creeps up in later years.
- 10:24Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Tom, Mike James. Stick around for
- 10:26Speaker 1: a second of the flicker. The chief still a little
- 10:27Speaker 1: bit deeper here because this guy, the guy that went
- 10:30Speaker 1: down on the one yard line, that foot almost touched
- 10:32Speaker 1: the goal line, by the way, now that it would
- 10:34Speaker 1: have mattered, the ball was not there. Jack McKinnon is
- 10:37Speaker 1: also looking at free agency after his day and the
- 10:42Speaker 1: sun by not scoring. You know, like I've been saying,
- 10:46Speaker 1: we prized that played every week, and I talked to
- 10:50Speaker 1: a couple of guys before the preade. I don't think
- 10:52Speaker 1: everybody really knew what was going on until I haven't.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But you know, this is one of those things that
- 10:58Speaker 1: you know, I didn't really think too much of it
- 11:01Speaker 1: because it's just that's how we were coached, that's how
- 11:03Speaker 1: Coachree coaches us. That player came up. Um. Obviously I
- 11:07Speaker 1: don't understand the magnitude of it until after it happened. UM.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And then you go to see everybody else's reactions, Like
- 11:14Speaker 1: I said, man, it's all been a blessing. Um. You
- 11:17Speaker 1: know some people have been asking, oh, how would have
- 11:19Speaker 1: quarterfoowers you? Oh? Yeah, I mean I get both sides,
- 11:23Speaker 1: but UM, you know, it wasn't even a hesitation in
- 11:26Speaker 1: my mind to score once I knew what situation we
- 11:28Speaker 1: were in. UM, And I said, man, it's been a blessing. Man.
- 11:31Speaker 1: And all the reactions from the fans, the people, UM,
- 11:34Speaker 1: you know, I couldn't ask for anything better. Andy Reid's
- 11:37Speaker 1: really rotated through the backs over the years there in
- 11:39Speaker 1: Kansas City and in Philadelphia as well. But James Eric McKinnon,
- 11:43Speaker 1: especially out of the backfield, the guy scored nine of
- 11:46Speaker 1: his ten touchdowns catching the football this year has something
- 11:51Speaker 1: special With Patrick Mahomes, It really does. Andrew and maybe
- 11:55Speaker 1: we couldn't find my interview with Jerrick McKinnon standing on
- 11:58Speaker 1: that spot after the game of the Super Bowl. I
- 12:00Speaker 1: don't know, but we just went no, no no, no, no dreams.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I get it. It was a great interview. We just
- 12:06Speaker 1: went this was like only a day old. There something new,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you know, of course, of course, but I'm gonna tie
- 12:12Speaker 1: this together. He told me. Andre told me it's like church.
- 12:16Speaker 1: It's every single week they go over this. Because I said,
- 12:18Speaker 1: did you make the decision or did the coaching staff
- 12:20Speaker 1: make the decision? Or did it happen in the huddle?
- 12:22Speaker 1: He said, no decision had to be made. This is
- 12:24Speaker 1: where we're taught each and every week to go out
- 12:26Speaker 1: and make plays in these situations because we study and
- 12:29Speaker 1: practice these situations. And that's where the value that you're
- 12:32Speaker 1: mentioning comes in and the values in the dollars as well.
- 12:35Speaker 1: As we break down this offseason, as he's said to
- 12:37Speaker 1: be a free agent and cost him over a little
- 12:39Speaker 1: more than a million dollars this year, as you mentioned
- 12:41Speaker 1: leading all running backs and touchdown caches, it's because Patrick
- 12:44Speaker 1: Mahomes believes in him as another quarterback on the field
- 12:48Speaker 1: and how he sees defenses, how he sees the game.
- 12:51Speaker 1: This is a perfect example of Jeric mckins value from
- 12:54Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid and this coaching staff to
- 12:57Speaker 1: what he brings to the entire offense. And we'll see
- 13:00Speaker 1: what happens this offseason. He's thirty one years old, but
- 13:02Speaker 1: I do know there's some loyalty there with the Kansas
- 13:05Speaker 1: City Chiefs. In Jerick McKinnon's mind, two years ago, when
- 13:08Speaker 1: he was leaving San Francisco, he thought his career was over.
- 13:11Speaker 1: He told me this. After the AFC Championship game, he
- 13:13Speaker 1: got one phone call and that was from Chiefs general
- 13:16Speaker 1: manager Brett Veach to bring him in. That was the
- 13:19Speaker 1: only interest he had in the league. So let's see
- 13:21Speaker 1: what happens this offseason. Because Jerick McKinnon was a brilliant
- 13:24Speaker 1: player for the Chiefs in terms of what he did
- 13:26Speaker 1: in plays like that and also in protection of Patrick
- 13:30Speaker 1: Mahomes as well as catching and running the football out
- 13:32Speaker 1: of the backfield, specifically at the price tag he played on. Yeah, James,
- 13:36Speaker 1: he certainly earned himself a raise, right and the question
- 13:38Speaker 1: is does he want to chase every last dollar, which
- 13:40Speaker 1: is his right and no one would begrudge him for that.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Or does he want to stay in a situation where
- 13:45Speaker 1: certainly they're the defending champs, the reigning Chaps, right, and
- 13:48Speaker 1: a chance to win more. How does he value that?
- 13:51Speaker 1: But I think it's interesting you bring up the point
- 13:53Speaker 1: about how Patrick feels about how the coaching staff feels
- 13:55Speaker 1: about him. How about his teammates. Isaiah Pacheco, who obviously
- 13:59Speaker 1: was so valuable for this team in the second half
- 14:01Speaker 1: of the season end of the postseason, gives a lot
- 14:03Speaker 1: of credit to McKinnon for helping him settle in and understand, like, look,
- 14:07Speaker 1: if you're gonna play running back here, you have to
- 14:09Speaker 1: understand how to defend Patrick. You have to be able
- 14:11Speaker 1: to pick up lets. Otherwise you don't get on the field.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And he progressed light years from where he was at
- 14:17Speaker 1: the start of his season to the way he finished
- 14:19Speaker 1: the year. And he said it's because of McKinnon, because
- 14:21Speaker 1: McKinnon put it in the work with him. So that's
- 14:23Speaker 1: someone who's willing to sacrifice, maybe for some of his
- 14:25Speaker 1: own playing time to get this guy up to speed.
- 14:28Speaker 1: That's a terrific teammate. That's someone who has I said,
- 14:31Speaker 1: has earned himself a raise. I'm vicorious to see where
- 14:33Speaker 1: he goes, because I know there are a lot of teams,
- 14:34Speaker 1: including one in my backyard, that could use a pass
- 14:37Speaker 1: catching back, and McKinnon certainly is that all right? Look
- 14:39Speaker 1: into the money here. You talk about deserving a raise.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You could argue Patrick Mahomes deserves a race as well, James.
- 14:45Speaker 1: He's set to make just let's see, forty point five
- 14:49Speaker 1: million dollars this coming season after a second MVP. And
- 14:53Speaker 1: as dangerous as this may sound to the rest of
- 14:55Speaker 1: the NFL, he appears to be a player that is ascending.
- 15:01Speaker 1: He really is. And I got a chance to talk
- 15:02Speaker 1: to one of the people that have been around him
- 15:04Speaker 1: since he came the starter really in Kansas City, and
- 15:07Speaker 1: that's assistant quarterback coach David Girardi, who probably is expected
- 15:10Speaker 1: to move up to quarterback coach if everything falls with
- 15:13Speaker 1: Matt Nackie becoming the future offensive coordinator for the Kansas
- 15:17Speaker 1: City Chiefs. And Dartie told me the thing that gets
- 15:20Speaker 1: overlooked is that he is just as good of a
- 15:22Speaker 1: pocket passer as he is when he's outside of the
- 15:25Speaker 1: pocket and creating. It just gets overshadowed because of those
- 15:28Speaker 1: splash plays and how we value looking at all of those,
- 15:32Speaker 1: and he said, the biggest thing that happened is obviously
- 15:34Speaker 1: the natural growth that has happened. He sees defenses so well,
- 15:37Speaker 1: He sees everything in terms of how the offense operates
- 15:40Speaker 1: so well. He's able to do that in just a
- 15:42Speaker 1: natural growth over the years, but also the new pieces
- 15:45Speaker 1: Andrew that joined him really sped up that growth in
- 15:48Speaker 1: the coaching staff's mind. And now he took another step
- 15:51Speaker 1: this past year and how he manipulates protections, how he
- 15:53Speaker 1: manipulates the play calls all at the line of scrimmage
- 15:56Speaker 1: because he sees it all so much quicker. We saw
- 15:58Speaker 1: with the ankle injury and how he had to be
- 16:01Speaker 1: limited in his mobility a little bit. They weren't worried
- 16:03Speaker 1: at all by that because of the pot to passer
- 16:05Speaker 1: that he is becoming and growing into each and every year.
- 16:08Speaker 1: We love those splash plays, but he's not relying on
- 16:11Speaker 1: them as he did in previous years, including that previous
- 16:14Speaker 1: MVP season. He had a long conversation with Chad Henny
- 16:17Speaker 1: at the Super Bowl along the same lines, right, and
- 16:19Speaker 1: he said, one of the things that's really impressed about
- 16:22Speaker 1: Pat as he's continued to grow as a quarterback is
- 16:24Speaker 1: now understanding the rhythm and the timing of the offense.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And he said, so when you combine that his understanding
- 16:29Speaker 1: of that with ability to make all the throws, he said,
- 16:32Speaker 1: now you go to a different place. And he was
- 16:34Speaker 1: already at a pretty unreachable place, but now he feels
- 16:37Speaker 1: like he's gotten even better. And I think that bore
- 16:39Speaker 1: out this year. And actually, you know, you lose someone
- 16:42Speaker 1: like Tyreek Hill that they've said it. He's a generational talent.
- 16:45Speaker 1: He had a phenomenal year in Miami, was important to them,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but he had to throw him the ball ten, twelve,
- 16:50Speaker 1: fifteen times to keep him happy. With this group, Yes,
- 16:53Speaker 1: Kelsey gets targets right, but by and large spread it out,
- 16:56Speaker 1: grow it to the guy that's open and not have
- 16:58Speaker 1: to worry about coming to the sidelines and possibly your
- 17:01Speaker 1: star receiver blowing up. And we did see that a
- 17:03Speaker 1: few times. And you know, Tyreek, it's a competitive guy.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So it's pad. I think it made their offense better
- 17:08Speaker 1: and allow them to attack defenses differently. And I'm curious
- 17:11Speaker 1: now to see how they go with that receiving corps
- 17:13Speaker 1: moving forward, Moving forward, with the start of the new
- 17:16Speaker 1: league year coming up, mid March. We are three weeks
- 17:20Speaker 1: away now and right now in the two week window
- 17:23Speaker 1: for franchise tags. Thank you James, Thank you Mike. Carolina
- 17:28Speaker 1: Panthers of a top ten pick, they're looking at a quarterback.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Might that guy who is currently a free agent because
- 17:33Speaker 1: the Raiders cut him, He has visited the Saints, he
- 17:35Speaker 1: has visited the Jets. Might that guy be an option
- 17:39Speaker 1: for Frank Reich in Carolina? Derek Carr is available, Will
- 17:46Speaker 1: you guys bring him in on a visit? You know,
- 17:48Speaker 1: interesting question. You know. We're really literally sitting down with
- 17:52Speaker 1: the guys today for staff first staff meeting. It will
- 17:54Speaker 1: be tomorrow, but I've kind of met with guys individually saying, Okay,
- 17:57Speaker 1: here's what we're doing. First. Step one, let's evaluate our roster,
- 18:01Speaker 1: you know, so we're really just starting that process. So
- 18:04Speaker 1: step two, evaluate the free agents. You know, everybody got
- 18:08Speaker 1: their list. Okay. Step three now, you know, going to
- 18:12Speaker 1: the college guys. So that process has literally begun. So
- 18:15Speaker 1: really not ready to address the specifics of that because
- 18:18Speaker 1: we're really just beginning. I mean, he didn't say no.
- 18:22Speaker 1: That was Frank Reich on the podium this morning in Charlotte. Meantime,
- 18:25Speaker 1: Daniel Jeremiahs newmock draft is out version two point zero,
- 18:27Speaker 1: guaranteed to be one percent accurate. He doesn't have Carolina
- 18:31Speaker 1: going a quarterback in the first round. He has Peter
- 18:33Speaker 1: Scronsky of the north Western o Lineman complay outside, can
- 18:36Speaker 1: play Inside as the ninth overall pick. But look at
- 18:40Speaker 1: five and look at three. DJ has Will Anderson falling
- 18:45Speaker 1: to the Seahawks. He has Tyree Wilson as the first
- 18:50Speaker 1: edge guy off the board at three to Arizona. And
- 18:53Speaker 1: by the way, he specifically says check it out on
- 18:56Speaker 1: NFL dot Com that he is not yet doing trades.
- 18:59Speaker 1: We haven't even made it to the combine, but we
- 19:01Speaker 1: will be at the combine coming up next week. Presented
- 19:05Speaker 1: by Noble. A dream that starts small can get big
- 19:09Speaker 1: in a name that's unknown can become the future. Next
- 19:12Speaker 1: is here, but twenty twenty three NFL Scouting Combine mark
- 19:15Speaker 1: second through fifth on NFL Network and on NFL Plus.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Coming up next, the latest from Dallas of the Cowboys.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Probably don't use their tag, but there is still Cowboy
- 19:28Speaker 1: News regardless. Right ahead, let's start the interception to the
- 19:37Speaker 1: left and Prescott's picked off unrecepted or shopter ahead has
- 19:40Speaker 1: a receptions and over the middle it's intercepted again. The
- 19:43Speaker 1: only way to keep going is by responding. Whatever happened
- 19:46Speaker 1: last play really doesn't matter. It's all about the next play.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I wish, how great do we want to be? Felt fresh?
- 19:53Speaker 1: Scott steps up and heaps it. What a craft spin
- 19:56Speaker 1: that is it? Touchdown Cowboys move forward to this last game.
- 20:03Speaker 1: In all these playoff games, every drive matters. We have
- 20:05Speaker 1: to play every play, every draft I guess to win
- 20:07Speaker 1: the game. Touchdown. That's the reality of it when you
- 20:10Speaker 1: get into the postseason. Another disappointing exit for the Dallas
- 20:17Speaker 1: Cowboys this year in the postseason, at least that won
- 20:19Speaker 1: a game this time, or they went down to Tampa
- 20:20Speaker 1: handle the Buccaneers blew them out of their building. But
- 20:23Speaker 1: then you know what happened in San Francisco against the
- 20:26Speaker 1: forty nine ers, where the offense simply didn't do the
- 20:29Speaker 1: job and Dack through a couple of picks, and once
- 20:31Speaker 1: again we're left wondering what could have been with the
- 20:34Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. We had a free agency NFL now takes
- 20:37Speaker 1: a deeper look down with Chains Slater live in Dallas,
- 20:40Speaker 1: hide their chain. Most notably the biggest change as they
- 20:43Speaker 1: get ready to head to the Combine. It's a new
- 20:46Speaker 1: offensive coordinator and a new play caller for the Cowboys.
- 20:50Speaker 1: So many changes to this coaching staff. Andrew and at midday,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I don't think a lot of us expected this many. Now,
- 20:56Speaker 1: there were a number of coaches on expiring contracts, but
- 20:58Speaker 1: the Kellen Moore thing was definitely curious. There's going to
- 21:01Speaker 1: be a press conference this week where we're going to
- 21:03Speaker 1: deep dive a little bit more with Mike McCarthy as
- 21:05Speaker 1: he introduces some of these new coaches. But big change
- 21:08Speaker 1: there if you think about it. Dak Prescott has been
- 21:10Speaker 1: in that quarterbacks room as either a teammate or coached
- 21:14Speaker 1: by Kellen Moore since he got here seven seasons ago.
- 21:17Speaker 1: He hasn't really gotten into what this offense is going
- 21:20Speaker 1: to look like, but he did give a little insight
- 21:22Speaker 1: to my colleague and French jury Epstein with Yahoo Sports
- 21:25Speaker 1: when he said the offense is expected to change about
- 21:28Speaker 1: twenty to thirty percent. He says it allows them to
- 21:30Speaker 1: get things a little crisper, a little cleaner, and again
- 21:33Speaker 1: Mike McCarthy will be calling the plays, but he hasn't
- 21:36Speaker 1: done this since twenty eighteen, so we'll have a lot
- 21:39Speaker 1: of questions for him this week. He's gonna have a
- 21:41Speaker 1: lot more on his plate. But that is going to
- 21:44Speaker 1: be the situation, at least offensively, is they try to
- 21:46Speaker 1: get more out of that side of the ball. They
- 21:48Speaker 1: just didn't feel like they were able to create last season,
- 21:50Speaker 1: and they try to as we get ready for the
- 21:52Speaker 1: combine and head towards free agency, figure out what they're
- 21:54Speaker 1: going to do and running back the guaranteed money on
- 21:56Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott's contract is all but gone. Tony Pollard has
- 21:59Speaker 1: proven to be a legit number one weapon. They got
- 22:02Speaker 1: to figure that out as well. Jane any insight, Yeah,
- 22:06Speaker 1: here's what I do know. I'm confident that Tony Pollard
- 22:09Speaker 1: will be wearing the Star next year. Now how he'll
- 22:11Speaker 1: be doing that is going to be interesting. They of
- 22:12Speaker 1: course have the option of franchise tagging him. That window,
- 22:15Speaker 1: of course opened up today. I anticipate they'll do a
- 22:18Speaker 1: little negotiation before they have to slap it on there,
- 22:21Speaker 1: which is March seventh, and then even after the fact
- 22:23Speaker 1: they can still work on a long term deal. That
- 22:25Speaker 1: franchise tag for Pollard would be about ten million dollars.
- 22:28Speaker 1: You know, he is coming off the broken leg and
- 22:30Speaker 1: the high ankle sprain. So do they evaluate him next
- 22:34Speaker 1: year with that franchise tag or do they do themselves
- 22:37Speaker 1: a favor get a long term deal before he starts
- 22:39Speaker 1: to cost of too much money and then that also
- 22:42Speaker 1: allows them a little bit more flexibility as it relates
- 22:44Speaker 1: to the payroll. Now we talk about Ezekiel Elliott, that
- 22:48Speaker 1: one is a little bit trickier. Talking to a couple
- 22:50Speaker 1: of my sources, they're being pretty tight lipped on this thing.
- 22:54Speaker 1: But in talking to Zeke's side, he wants to remain
- 22:56Speaker 1: in Dallas. I don't think he wants necessarily an Emmett
- 22:59Speaker 1: Smith situation where Emmett Smith went to the Cardinals and
- 23:02Speaker 1: always regretted that move. He feels very comfortable in this
- 23:05Speaker 1: locker room and with this offense. The question is what
- 23:08Speaker 1: is the number going to be? Because we talk about
- 23:10Speaker 1: his number, we're talking about a seventeen million dollar cap
- 23:12Speaker 1: hit this year, So that's been the issue. What they'd
- 23:15Speaker 1: have to do in order to keep him in Dallas
- 23:17Speaker 1: is restructure that deal and ask him to take less money.
- 23:20Speaker 1: How much less money I think is what this all
- 23:21Speaker 1: comes down to you, as it was told to me.
- 23:23Speaker 1: We're just going to have to see how all of
- 23:25Speaker 1: this fits together. And of course we've got combined next week,
- 23:28Speaker 1: so a good opportunity for Zeke and his agent, Rocky
- 23:31Speaker 1: Arson No to sort see what the market is. Although
- 23:33Speaker 1: we've talked about this in recent years, guys, that running
- 23:36Speaker 1: back market isn't quite what it used to be. No,
- 23:38Speaker 1: as teams are reluctant to give long term money, big
- 23:42Speaker 1: long term money to running backs. Here maybe more likely
- 23:45Speaker 1: you get a better deal to keep your own. Zeke
- 23:47Speaker 1: did get that big second contract, what do you do
- 23:49Speaker 1: now with a third contract potentially for Ezekiel Elliott? Thank you.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Jane Slater Live there in Dallas. The latest on the Cowboys.
- 23:57Speaker 1: As we get ready for the combine in Dallas, we
- 23:59Speaker 1: have the HPCU combine Monday rather than combine in Indy.
- 24:03Speaker 1: So let's celebrate some of the great players to come
- 24:04Speaker 1: out of historically black colleges and universities, including speaking of Cowboys,
- 24:08Speaker 1: Florida A and M and Cowboys Great Bullet Bob as
- 24:11Speaker 1: the only player to win both a Super Bowl and
- 24:13Speaker 1: an Olympic gold medal eleven year career over seventy four
- 24:18Speaker 1: hundred receiving yards, seventy one receiving touchdowns. They're great fully
- 24:24Speaker 1: Bob coming up next, a linebacker with the coolest helmet
- 24:29Speaker 1: in football at a Super Bowl channel, A guy who
- 24:32Speaker 1: didn't get a chance to play a couple of years
- 24:34Speaker 1: ago but got his ring on the field this time.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Willie Gay coming up lay show. So one of my
- 24:46Speaker 1: favorite quotes here of twenty twenty three was Joe Burrow
- 24:50Speaker 1: getting asked how big he is the Bengals championship windows.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Burrow said, and I'm paraphrasing, the windows open as long
- 24:58Speaker 1: as I am here. So with that in mind, we
- 25:01Speaker 1: asked Bucky Brooks to rank some teams here, teams with
- 25:04Speaker 1: the big Super Bowl windows, meaning the biggest shot here
- 25:08Speaker 1: over a number of years to win one Kansas City,
- 25:11Speaker 1: just one another one fourteen and three. They had Patrick Mahomes,
- 25:14Speaker 1: the Eagles with Jalen Hurts, assuming they lock him up,
- 25:17Speaker 1: certainly have a shot. Then Burrow and the Bengals the
- 25:21Speaker 1: Nighters for whomever their quarterback may be. And you can
- 25:24Speaker 1: see this entire list here on NFL dot com. But
- 25:27Speaker 1: let's talk about Mike Giardi. Those Bengals. It's one thing
- 25:31Speaker 1: to have a quarterback. It's another thing to have coaching
- 25:34Speaker 1: staff continuity. I think a lot of people just assumed
- 25:38Speaker 1: that one of those coordinators would get a head coaching
- 25:41Speaker 1: job Mike. That didn't happen. It didn't happen. Luianna Rumo,
- 25:46Speaker 1: the defensive coordinator, had two interviews with the Cardinals, was
- 25:49Speaker 1: one of two finalists that appears before they decided to
- 25:51Speaker 1: go with Jonathan Gannon. Brian Callahan, their offensive coordinator, had
- 25:55Speaker 1: two interviews with the Colts, decided to go with Shane Steiken,
- 25:58Speaker 1: and now these guys are back with Zach Taylor for
- 26:01Speaker 1: a fifth straight year. Guess how many teams in the
- 26:03Speaker 1: league have had their head coach Borden and both offensive
- 26:06Speaker 1: a defensive coordinators together for five years zero after Eric
- 26:10Speaker 1: Bienemy left Kansas Kansas City for Washington. This is the
- 26:14Speaker 1: only group they can say that, And when you consider
- 26:17Speaker 1: how they progressed, the type of talent that they're working with,
- 26:20Speaker 1: I think it is a massive, massive win for Cincinnati
- 26:23Speaker 1: because I think they expected at least one of these
- 26:25Speaker 1: guys to be gone. To have them both back with
- 26:27Speaker 1: Zach again, that continuity is tremendous. I think everybody understands
- 26:32Speaker 1: what they're trying to do their offensive, Indian defensively. Zach
- 26:35Speaker 1: of course, being the final voice in this thing. It's great.
- 26:38Speaker 1: It's something that I think Cincinnati searched for for a
- 26:41Speaker 1: long time. They have it now. They have one of
- 26:43Speaker 1: the elite coaching staffs in the league. And they also
- 26:45Speaker 1: have a good problem here is that they have a
- 26:46Speaker 1: lot of talent they need to resign. Joe Burrow is
- 26:48Speaker 1: eligible for an extension this offseason. Will talk plenty about that.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I'm sure over the coming months. Next season, it's Jamar
- 26:55Speaker 1: Chase who would be up for a big deal. T Higgins,
- 26:59Speaker 1: Mike has one more year left on his contract. What's
- 27:02Speaker 1: his story. Well, of course he knows that he's a
- 27:05Speaker 1: number one receiver. They believe he's a number one receiver
- 27:08Speaker 1: in Cincinnati, and there are a lot of teams in
- 27:10Speaker 1: this league that believe that he's a number one receiver.
- 27:12Speaker 1: So the question then becomes, does T. Higgins want to
- 27:15Speaker 1: go the route of say A J. Brown or Tyreek
- 27:18Speaker 1: Hill and say, you guys got to give me money
- 27:21Speaker 1: or I need to go someplace else Fore, I'm gonna
- 27:22Speaker 1: get that. And obviously, again, as I said earlier, you
- 27:25Speaker 1: don't begrudge these guys for wanting to get their dollars
- 27:27Speaker 1: because this is a violent league. Things happen. You want
- 27:30Speaker 1: security for yourself and for your family. But now, if
- 27:33Speaker 1: you're the Bengals, what is equal value for T Higgins
- 27:37Speaker 1: When you have Jamar Chase on one side, but then
- 27:39Speaker 1: Chase goes down and Higgins slides right into that role.
- 27:42Speaker 1: And by and large he played that same way as
- 27:47Speaker 1: the one that he has done as a two bing
- 27:49Speaker 1: a dominant force using that length and his size. You
- 27:52Speaker 1: saw him in the AFC title game against Kansas City
- 27:55Speaker 1: go up and over. No one could do anything with
- 27:57Speaker 1: that guy. So I get in a very interesting situation.
- 28:00Speaker 1: But if I'm Cincinnati, I'm trying to keep this group together,
- 28:03Speaker 1: just like the coaching staff. I want to keep these
- 28:04Speaker 1: players together. I'll worry about next year next year, so
- 28:07Speaker 1: long as he's ready to show up and work this year.
- 28:09Speaker 1: And when we had Jamar Chase on on Super Bowl
- 28:12Speaker 1: Live leading up to the game, he made an interesting
- 28:15Speaker 1: comment kind of suggesting that Joe Burrow knows how to
- 28:17Speaker 1: structure his contract. Whenever that gets done to keep his
- 28:21Speaker 1: core guys in place, you would have to think Higgins
- 28:24Speaker 1: is one of those core guys again. Burrow is eligible
- 28:27Speaker 1: for a contract extension this summer. Thank you, Mike, you.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Super Bowl fifty seven start, Mahomes floats past this side,
- 28:39Speaker 1: Kelsie over the Childer, He's got the touch starts Lunky
- 28:43Speaker 1: deep the chase defense get to the tredible touchdown. Purcha
- 28:52Speaker 1: is gonna run the pen Star and the Eagles lead
- 28:55Speaker 1: Plunky one to fourteen. Mahomes. He's hurt. Mahomes is hurt.
- 28:59Speaker 1: You can expect them to test the durability of Patrick
- 29:02Speaker 1: Mahomes quick pastor Tommy Din't walk into the the first
- 29:06Speaker 1: lead of the game, White open, Sky Moore touchdown terenceas City,
- 29:11Speaker 1: They push, they stay for the tough foun don't underestimate
- 29:16Speaker 1: how top Patrick Mahomes is. Twenty six yards scramble. He
- 29:19Speaker 1: let him seconds left, thirty five, thirty five tie. The
- 29:22Speaker 1: kick is good for the second time in four seasons.
- 29:26Speaker 1: The Lombardy Trophy has a big red reflection the chief
- 29:31Speaker 1: such champions a Super Bowl fifty seven, they one another one.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Then it looks like they might still be celebrating. This
- 29:41Speaker 1: is actually Willie Gan the locker room in Glendale immediately
- 29:44Speaker 1: after they won one. He wasn't able to be on
- 29:47Speaker 1: the field a couple of years ago, but he was
- 29:48Speaker 1: on the field for this one. He is twenty three
- 29:51Speaker 1: years old. He as the coolest linebacker helmet of the NFL.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Eddie is a Super Bowl champion. Willie Gay joins us
- 29:57Speaker 1: live here on NFL now. Willie has the party ended
- 30:02Speaker 1: yet almost almost a couple more days, man, And I'm
- 30:07Speaker 1: living it up. The whole team is, the city of
- 30:09Speaker 1: Kansas City is. So it's been a lot of fun.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Have you actually really like circled the day on the
- 30:15Speaker 1: calendar where you say, all right, at this point, I
- 30:19Speaker 1: have to remember I have to get ready for next season?
- 30:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so what it's February right now? Man, So
- 30:26Speaker 1: sometime here in March, you know, we gotta get back
- 30:29Speaker 1: to working out and train and try to go get
- 30:32Speaker 1: another one, all right, before we get back to the
- 30:34Speaker 1: partying in the parade, Because I know that was a
- 30:36Speaker 1: big day for you as well, I want to pull
- 30:37Speaker 1: up a play and give you some credit. We talked
- 30:40Speaker 1: about the Gadarius Tony punt return, longest in NFL history here,
- 30:44Speaker 1: and we could talk about corn dogs and all that,
- 30:47Speaker 1: but tell me about your third down pressure to force
- 30:52Speaker 1: that bad punt to Gadarius Tony Man right here, I
- 30:58Speaker 1: actually took a horrible angle. Should have been a sect,
- 31:01Speaker 1: but you know, I'll take it for sure. It was
- 31:04Speaker 1: ended up being a it down for us as a defense.
- 31:06Speaker 1: So and to have some apart returning Laca Dairy's back there, man,
- 31:11Speaker 1: that's definitely what you won't give him a chance to
- 31:13Speaker 1: make plays with the ball, and that's exactly what he did,
- 31:16Speaker 1: you know. So but hopefully next time is definitely going
- 31:19Speaker 1: to be a sex So all right, you've mentioned it twice. Now,
- 31:22Speaker 1: does that really silly that you Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 1: The whole game we talked about blitz ankles on the
- 31:31Speaker 1: quarterback because he's athletic, you know, he can make plays
- 31:33Speaker 1: with his feet, and as soon as I got an
- 31:35Speaker 1: open lane, man, I kind of whiffed on him. So
- 31:38Speaker 1: but it's all good, No, I totally get it. You
- 31:40Speaker 1: don't remember the plays you do make. You remember the
- 31:43Speaker 1: plays you don't make because you want to put af
- 31:45Speaker 1: a game on tape. And you ended up though with
- 31:47Speaker 1: the Lombardi and I'm sure you're still happy about that.
- 31:49Speaker 1: And I know that Wednesday, last Wednesday, Willie was a
- 31:54Speaker 1: huge day, because not only was it the parade, but Willie,
- 31:58Speaker 1: it was your birthday as well. Yeah SERI, yeah serious,
- 32:01Speaker 1: my best birthday ever. Yeah, man, and uh, to celebrate
- 32:07Speaker 1: a super Bowl on my birthday, you know, it's definitely
- 32:09Speaker 1: the best birthday of it. So, you know, with the guys,
- 32:13Speaker 1: you know, uh, and just living it up. Honestly, man,
- 32:16Speaker 1: it's just the best day of What was the best
- 32:19Speaker 1: part of the parade? Kelsey on stage or mahomes handing
- 32:22Speaker 1: the trophy to random fans and then like walking away
- 32:25Speaker 1: forgetting he did? What was the best part? I think
- 32:27Speaker 1: that definitely was it for me. Man. He was so
- 32:30Speaker 1: lit that day and for him to do that, he
- 32:32Speaker 1: definitely had no flue. Now there's anything wrong with that.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Our favorite, our favorite was this. Can we pull up
- 32:40Speaker 1: Leo Chanel? You know from your linebacker over here? What
- 32:43Speaker 1: was he doing here? Hey? That's the freak right there, Man,
- 32:49Speaker 1: that's the freak. Great there were you on that bus? Really? No, sir, no, sir,
- 32:55Speaker 1: not that one. But I saw the video after, like
- 32:59Speaker 1: what would happened if he fell? He probably would have
- 33:02Speaker 1: landed back on his feet anyway. He's such a such
- 33:05Speaker 1: an athlete, man, that boy's funny, all right, for those
- 33:08Speaker 1: who don't know, you played against the high school teammate
- 33:11Speaker 1: and the Super Bowl. I mean, this is kind of cool.
- 33:13Speaker 1: AJ Brider caught a touchdown obviously in the first quarter
- 33:15Speaker 1: against you guys. You and he won a state championship
- 33:18Speaker 1: together at Starkville High growing up as kids. Could you
- 33:23Speaker 1: have imagined back then, Willie, that you would have played
- 33:27Speaker 1: a high school teammate on the biggest stage. Uh, Me
- 33:31Speaker 1: and Aj always knew Man we would meet up at
- 33:33Speaker 1: this point. You know, we didn't think about the Super Bowl,
- 33:37Speaker 1: but our goal definitely was to get it in and
- 33:39Speaker 1: field and played against each other or with each other,
- 33:41Speaker 1: whichever one. And and we actually we went to college. Man,
- 33:46Speaker 1: we was rivals in college, and he beat me in
- 33:48Speaker 1: our first every egg Bowl. So to get the w
- 33:52Speaker 1: on our first ever Super Bowl against each other, Man,
- 33:54Speaker 1: it's pretty big for me. But it's definitely a blessing
- 33:57Speaker 1: man for us, for us Boat, So was there at
- 34:00Speaker 1: least party on the sideline. I'm not on the sideline
- 34:02Speaker 1: on the field that that had allowed yourself at all
- 34:06Speaker 1: to be happy when he caught the touchdown A little bit,
- 34:09Speaker 1: A little bit. One thing about Aj, he's gonna make
- 34:12Speaker 1: his plays. And I know that, you know, personally so
- 34:15Speaker 1: and of course everyone else does too, but you know,
- 34:17Speaker 1: I know he's gonna make his plays, so you know,
- 34:19Speaker 1: I want to beat them. I want to be him,
- 34:22Speaker 1: you know, especially in this game, in that game, and
- 34:25Speaker 1: of course I'm always happy when he makes his plays,
- 34:27Speaker 1: but trying not to make two men against us. Willie,
- 34:30Speaker 1: last thing for you, you took to Twitter last year
- 34:35Speaker 1: and called this. Can we pull up the tweet here?
- 34:38Speaker 1: You said on Twitter that you guys were going to
- 34:42Speaker 1: win this. This was February thirteenth, two thousand and twenty two.
- 34:46Speaker 1: You got it right, Willie. Do you want to make
- 34:49Speaker 1: any predictions for this year calendar twenty twenty three? Stock market, bitcoin, football, anything?
- 34:57Speaker 1: I can just say, we're not slowing down, man, as
- 34:59Speaker 1: that's guaranteed. So all right, not slowing down, and we're
- 35:03Speaker 1: writing that down. Willie, a super Bowl champion pick a
- 35:07Speaker 1: day in March, but enjoyed until that man. Congratulate sir, yes, sir, alrighty,
- 35:12Speaker 1: thank you. NFL Now is a production of the NFL
