- 0:20Hello, friends and family.
- 0:21Thank you so much for tuning in to another podcast.
- 0:23And for your support, I appreciate your prayers and sharing this on social media, even though some of us might be censored, shadow banned, suppressed.
- 0:33You know, God is bigger and he'll get it to the right people.
- 0:36So this is a follow-up podcast to what we did a couple weeks ago.
- 0:42And it's a very important topic that we were just talking about this before we got on the air here that I've mentioned this probably going back 15 years, I'm guessing, but just not we don't do a deep dive into some of these things as often as we should.
- 0:55So I'm thankful to have Dr. Alana Agueo back with us.
- 0:59And the book is I have it in hand.
- 1:01It's Unearthing.
- 1:03Yoga's Ancient Roots.
- 1:06We're doing a part two to the interview we did a couple weeks ago, several weeks ago, and I want you to search for that.
- 1:13If you did not watch it, please go to freedomproject.com.
- 1:18In the search, type in Alana Arguello.
- 1:22And you can see the spelling of her name there.
- 1:24And this first interview will come up with her.
- 1:27And you need to please watch it and share that one as well as this one.
- 1:31So let's bring her on the website, thereturningraven.com.
- 1:35Thereturningraven.com.
- 1:39Alana, good to see you again.
- 1:40Thanks for your time again.
- 1:42Thank you.
- 1:43Thank you for having me.
- 1:44I appreciate it.
- 1:44Yeah, you're welcome.
- 1:46It was good.
- 1:46I did not have this when we did our first interview, so it was great to go through it.
- 1:50I haven't been able to read everything.
- 1:53I mean, gosh, it's what is it?
- 1:54How many pages?
- 1:54350, roughly, pages.
- 1:57But there's so many questions I have.
- 1:59I know we're not going to get to them all, so I'm really trying to be led by the Holy Spirit and condense this for the time that we have.
- 2:06So let's review some of the bullet points, even though we don't remember the specifics maybe of what we discussed.
- 2:12We introduced your book, talked about what yoga is, why the church should be concerned.
- 2:18And could you just give us just a brief overview, and maybe we'll review a couple of the things we discussed before we jump into some new items.
- 2:25Go ahead.
- 2:26Yes, yes.
- 2:27So I think one of the problems with yoga is that the way that it's been sold to us is that there's one type of yoga.
- 2:36It's sold as a physical exercise at the gyms, at studios.
- 2:41And yoga is not a physical exercise.
- 2:44It uses physical to get to the spiritual, is a spiritual exercise.
- 2:48And yoga.
- 2:49But that's what we understand in not really the secular culture.
- 2:53The secular culture actually is aware of what yoga actually is.
- 2:57But the church seems to think it's only a physical practice at the gym.
- 3:03And they also think that they can separate any of its ancient practices.
- 3:08roots of spirituality away from that physical practice.
- 3:12However, again, the secular culture knows that that's not true, but also we were directly targeted.
- 3:19The Christian church was targeted to be deceived, to think it was just
- 3:25one exercise, a physical exercise for health, for science.
- 3:29However, this is not actually true what yoga is.
- 3:33Yoga is not a practice.
- 3:36When people talk about yoga practice, they're talking about something called yoga kara.
- 3:41There's also a sect of Buddhism called yoga kara, so not to confuse that, but
- 3:46Yogacara is the practice of one of yoga.
- 3:51Yoga is just an idea.
- 3:53Yoga is the idea that you are all God.
- 3:57It's a panentheistic worldview that all is God.
- 4:01So God is in you, you are in God, and you're all God.
- 4:05You're actually a co-creator with God.
- 4:07This is a panentheistic worldview
- 4:09So the goals for, so yoga is this idea is that you are all God.
- 4:15And then, uh, when I say all God, it's a L L hyphen God.
- 4:20So you're God.
- 4:21I'm God.
- 4:21A cockroach is God.
- 4:23Everything is God.
- 4:24The air is God.
- 4:25Everything is God.
- 4:26So this all God system is the, is the idea.
- 4:31The idea has a philosophy.
- 4:33Most people miss this.
- 4:35Yoga is a philosophy.
- 4:37Okay.
- 4:37And the philosophy holds doctrines.
- 4:40And those doctrines produce all sorts of practices.
- 4:45So, and the practices are not always called yoga today, but they are actually a form of yoga.
- 4:54And so all of the issues that you see in the American culture today, from cancel culture, transgender, even denying that you're fearfully and wonderfully made, these are all from yoga philosophy and even subjectivism, pragmatism, pluralism, all the isms that are affecting
- 5:15the minds of the culture, deconstructionism, all these are either part of philosophy, the philosophy of yoga or produced out of it.
- 5:24And then all the issues you see within the church, not just the people that think they can practice gym yoga, but the other issue, word of faith, the prosperity gospel is from yoga philosophy, a form of yoga.
- 5:37all of the repeating of the I am's, contemplative prayer that you're supposed to go, visualization practices, even actually astrology, goddess worship, Mother Earth worship, all from yoga philosophy.
- 5:54So one of the problems with yoga is one, people think it's just one thing, like this gym yoga.
- 6:01They don't understand the philosophies behind it and the other forms.
- 6:05But they also think all these issues that you see in the culture, all these issues that you see in the church, the apostasy issues are compartmentalized and separate.
- 6:15They are not.
- 6:16And so a lot of times what you hear with people with yoga is that they think, oh, it's a gray area.
- 6:23Or they think they already know what yoga is and know enough about it.
- 6:27Or they think, well, I don't practice yoga, the gym kind, so it's not going to affect my family.
- 6:33And that's just not true.
- 6:34Even evolution is from yoga.
- 6:37And so this is, there's so many ways it's impacted our thinking, our minds, how we're conforming to the world as the church.
- 6:46And definitely what we see in the nation is all actually, yoga is actually the thing.
- 6:51If you think of the snake in the grass or the hidden sniper, it's actually yoga right among us.
- 6:57And it's the thing that everybody thinks maybe it's a gray area or no big deal, or they've got this, they've got it figured out.
- 7:04And it's actually connected.
- 7:05So that's what I try to do in the book, in short chapters of the book.
- 7:10There are 84, but that's because the Shiva...
- 7:14taught the goddess 84 postures to spread across the earth for all time and to impact all cultures for all time.
- 7:24So my challenge as an apologist, I'm taking the word posture as postures standing against versus the postures of yoga.
- 7:33I'm giving you 84 very short chapters for you to understand what
- 7:39yoga is and I cite everything so that you can see what their texts say, what the UN says, what science says, so that you can understand.
- 7:49And then I also on the Returning Raven YouTube channel and podcast, you can go along with me and I go through each chapter to help you understand
- 8:01more of it.
- 8:01So sort of like a Cliff Notes version with extra pieces that are not in the book.
- 8:06And then I also do a Look Closer series where we go deeper like that with who Shiva actually is, who the goddess of yoga actually is, and how she's linked to abortion and, excuse me, in the history of Moloch, linked to the history with Moloch, who was the god of abortion, but also who she is, even in scripture, how she's the whore of Babylon.
- 8:29There's so much more, friends, and I'm just going to keep this going.
- 8:32In our first podcast together, Alana, you said something along the lines of, I don't believe anyone in the church can continue to say that God hasn't addressed yoga in His Word.
- 8:43So in a minute, I want to just have you answer the simple question, is yoga in the Bible?
- 8:48Because obviously the spirituality behind it was around centuries, thousands of years ago.
- 8:55But I want to ask you for the average person that may have missed our first interview with you that might be saying, well, maybe there is a spirituality in this, this behind this, but I don't do it for that purpose.
- 9:09I do it just to either stretch or exercise or whatever.
- 9:12How would you respond to someone like that?
- 9:14Because I know there are some people that are thinking that right now.
- 9:17Yes, so if they want to go on to the returning Raven, there is a video, one of the myths.
- 9:23I do the 10 myths of yoga, and that is one of the myths.
- 9:27They're very short videos that can explain why you cannot separate it.
- 9:32But the yoga has always been ancient pagan worship.
- 9:37So yoga is ancient sorcery.
- 9:41In fact, the ancient yoginis were called sorcerers.
- 9:45The yoginis, female yogis, were called predatory witches.
- 9:52So but yoga, again, I break it down in the book, was directly targeted to be sold to the church as something else, specifically
- 10:00because the yoga practices themselves can change your mind about God.
- 10:06So here's the thing, the secular world says this, the gurus say this, people like myself that came out of the East, there's people that practice yoga, that are now born again, that came out, that warn about this,
- 10:21There's people like myself that I practiced it.
- 10:23And I also studied East Asian studies.
- 10:27I was a philosophy major, studied all of these things before coming to Christ.
- 10:32We will say that you can't separate it.
- 10:35And then the other thing is, is so does the science data that whether you're an atheist or whether you are a Christian, that yoga will change your mind.
- 10:45In fact, Kundalini will change your mind.
- 10:47Kundalini is the python.
- 10:49And it's actually the python is the goddess.
- 10:52It's actually the same link of the word, the diviner that follows Acts, and that is following Acts, and after following Paul, excuse me, and then Paul cast out.
- 11:05the demons from her.
- 11:06That word there, if you look it up in the Greek, is Python.
- 11:09So the Python has been linked in pagan cultures and it's also in yoga and in the gym yoga.
- 11:16Kundalini Python changes your mind about God.
- 11:19Well, the science data says no matter what your beliefs, atheist or Christian, that when you go in, you actually, after a certain amount of time, come out.
- 11:29with an Eastern worldview of God, a panentheistic worldview of God, which means you have the wrong God.
- 11:36And so this is where when God says that pagan worship practices will ensnare you, you are not to do the pagan worship practices.
- 11:44Pagan worship practices are idolatry, sin, and an abomination.
- 11:49It's throughout the scriptures.
- 11:50We already know this.
- 11:52And so it's with Israel, ancient Israel, it's,
- 11:56Well, a lot of times we think when we have a problem, we a lot of the post postmodern philosophies that have impacted us is we look at idolatry and we say, well, idolatry is what I want it to mean for me.
- 12:09I don't know what they're talking about.
- 12:10This queen of heaven baking cakes.
- 12:13We don't understand what was going on in the ancient world.
- 12:15So we say, well, idolatry then for me is work.
- 12:19I work too much.
- 12:20Well, that's good if you want to examine yourself, but that's not actually scripturally how we are supposed to look at things.
- 12:27Anything that exalts itself above God, yes, is idolatry.
- 12:31But idolatry, and when you look at the context and the historical context of the scriptures, the idolatry is not just...
- 12:41worshiping false gods.
- 12:43It's worshiping God in a way that you're not supposed to worship Him.
- 12:47And ancient Israel sometimes did, yes, worship false gods, but most of the time, no.
- 12:54They actually tried to worship Yahweh
- 12:57using pagan worship practices and every single time was judgment and ensnared even the even if they repented you look at joshua and judges it affected the next generation because of not just the practices themselves but the ideas and the immorality that go along with it and so this is uh and and so so when people say i can practice yoga
- 13:24And I can make it mean what I want it to mean.
- 13:25I can separate the spiritual.
- 13:28I'm sorry, but they just drank the same Kool-Aid of the philosophies of yoga.
- 13:32They've already gone pagan.
- 13:34They're already accepting that because they're saying a thing is what it is because I say so.
- 13:40Say it is what it is.
- 13:41Well, then you can't say anything to someone who's transgender and says they're born a boy, but they say they're a girl because they want it to be that way.
- 13:51You can't take something and identify it as what you want to subjectively and call it what it is.
- 13:59Then we also can't say anything to the new age Jesus because they're redefining who Jesus is and calling him a completely different God that's slapping on the name of Jesus.
- 14:09It's the same mentality.
- 14:11We have to look at things in reality and in truth and in fact.
- 14:16What are they?
- 14:17And yoga always has been and continues to be, actually, ancient and present sorcery.
- 14:23It's mind, body, word, magic.
- 14:27And so there is a problem.
- 14:29And historically, I don't know if you have another question, but I can explain the answer about is it in the Bible?
- 14:36Yeah, sure.
- 14:36Go ahead.
- 14:37This is wonderful.
- 14:39So is it in the Bible?
- 14:41Yes, that's the short answer.
- 14:42In fact, many times in the scriptures.
- 14:46And so the first challenge that we have to go back to is being rooted in the word of God, is that we have to understand
- 14:53We have a history right now within the present church and the contemporary church where we cherry pick.
- 14:59We go and we take verses and we look at it subjectively.
- 15:02Same thing, how we look at idolatry.
- 15:04We don't ask who was this queen of heaven?
- 15:06Who was she tied to?
- 15:08What was she doing?
- 15:09What were her practices?
- 15:11And we actually live in an age where cultural anthropology has been illuminated by archeology.
- 15:17We now know what the ancient world was practicing,
- 15:21We didn't even really need that.
- 15:23If we just use our critical thinking, the mind that God has given us, that there was, we understand the Tower of Babel is historically true.
- 15:33It was an actual event that there were people practicing certain worship practices.
- 15:39They could do their own practices.
- 15:41They could call God what they wanted to call him, but they were doing these practices and then God spread them throughout the earth.
- 15:48So when they spread...
- 15:50people took some practices that they liked, maybe they kept some, maybe they revived some certain practices later, but it spread across the globe.
- 15:59And this is actually what we see also in the footprints of anthropology.
- 16:06So in cultures across time, we see this spreading.
- 16:10In fact, there's a massive from the ancient Mesopotamia, Babylonia, Egypt, and you see this spread, this Eurasian,
- 16:19across Europe and Asia spread.
- 16:22And so this would be what is pre-India times.
- 16:27A lot of times people think that yoga came from Hinduism.
- 16:30Yoga is actually in, I would argue, all cults and religions, including Islam.
- 16:36And so we think that Hinduism did not birth yoga.
- 16:41Hinduism helped sell it to America and helped systemize it to America.
- 16:46But no, yoga birthed Hinduism.
- 16:48It's the other way around.
- 16:49So yoga is more ancient and more cross-culturally in different groups, ancient Persia, and then across, even the Greeks before Jesus, the Orphics, how they were influenced by the East, all the way Pythagoras to the Stoics.
- 17:07And we now, with even archaeology, we have things when you look at Galatia and what was happening, the Celts and the Druids, right?
- 17:19And you can compare with the Druids and the Vedas and even their words and how they connect with the sacred knowledge is what both mean.
- 17:29And they have the same gods and goddesses, the ancient world, and again, the same practices.
- 17:34But we have an artifact found in Galatia during the New Testament times that is essentially a sitting asana.
- 17:44Asanas are...
- 17:48means when we say postures in the gym, that actually means the throne of a deity and there's moving ones and sitting ones.
- 17:55And he's in what looks like a yogi-esque posture on a seal, on a coin.
- 18:01Well, of course, because they practice what would be, we would understand as Raja yoga, a form of Raja yoga, but they all spread.
- 18:09They were influenced from all of these areas and it comes in
- 18:14And so then other thing is hopefully your audience as they follow along with the show, if they get the book and then follow along with the show, where you understand, when you understand what yoga actually is and how it's connected, it has a gospel.
- 18:30It has in the gospels and direct rebellion against God and our gospel, God's gospel.
- 18:37And there's also like, for example, chariots.
- 18:41And this is just one small example.
- 18:43Chariots.
- 18:44We know from Ezekiel that God's throne is described as a chariot.
- 18:49We know with Elijah that only God could take Elijah up on his throne, on his chariot.
- 18:55The chariot throne only belongs to God.
- 18:59salvation only belongs to God well yoga philosophy counters all of this I have an episode that they can watch on YouTube but also they can just google it and look put in yoga chariots in the search engine you will find images and see it yoga says no
- 19:17There is everyone has their own chariot.
- 19:20Everyone is God and your own chariot will take you to the sky, past the sun to a place among the gods.
- 19:27It says you are actually the sacrifice says, quote, you are to in burden, burdensome ritual.
- 19:36get on your chariot and sacrifice yourself to become God.
- 19:40It's a direct counter against the truth.
- 19:43Well, that in that word yoke is yoga.
- 19:46When you hear Jesus say, when Jesus said my yoke,
- 19:51that word yoke is yoga.
- 19:53My yoke is easy.
- 19:56Not that Jesus is practicing yoga.
- 19:57I'm talking about ancient etymology.
- 20:00He's saying my yoke, which means that hitch up to a draft animal, which again with yoga, the chariots, they would hitch up to the draft animals and then ride the chariot through past the sun into the place among the gods.
- 20:14Well, then Jesus comes along and says, no, my yoke is...
- 20:19Yoking to a draft animal is not burdensome, is light, and it's easy because I am the sacrifice, not you.
- 20:27The more you understand what yoga is, you also see God Almighty, Jesus Christ, directly speaking against these pagan ideas.
- 20:36The same thing with the gate.
- 20:37This is another quick one.
- 20:39The gate.
- 20:41when he said all that came before me are thieves and robbers.
- 20:44Well, yoga says specifically that there's a wider gate, that there are many gates.
- 20:50And guess who the Lord of yoga, what his name is?
- 20:53The Lord of thieves and robbers.
- 20:56And he was named that before Jesus's time.
- 20:59So when Jesus says certain things, it kind of opens you
- 21:04to understand and who influenced the Greeks of the time when Paul was talking about those forbidden to marry, those that are vegetarians, think of gurus, yogi, Eastern gurus, and then you know those areas and know they were actually influenced by the East.
- 21:21In fact, they were called gymnosophist, exercise philosophers who taught to worship empty philosophy in the elements, which Paul talks about several times.
- 21:34about the elements, the air, water, fire.
- 21:37All of this is from yoga philosophy that had impacted all of those regions before, during, and after Jesus Christ.
- 21:45But there's multiple things like this that I try to expose what yoga actually is, what the Sanskrit texts actually say it is,
- 21:54And then you can understand the scriptures I mentioned earlier, the goddess of yoga is directly called the woman on many waters.
- 22:04And I show the sacred text where that is and we know who that is, right?
- 22:08And that she is a drunken bloody goddess.
- 22:11Direct quotes from their text of who this goddess is.
- 22:15And I won't jump into this, but even in Zechariah, where God is warning about this goddess, about a demon goddess, he describes her.
- 22:24And by full description of who God warns about is the goddess of yoga.
- 22:31Alana, there is so much more I want to ask you.
- 22:33This is going by fast, so we will have you back again.
- 22:38We have to, because we have to continue this conversation.
- 22:40There's so much great information here, friends.
- 22:42Please get the book.
- 22:43But I wanted to jump to at least talk about how this was marketed to America and even the church was targeted, you say, directly.
- 22:51I understand, because if one of the goals is to change people's minds about God and what the Bible teaches, and I understand,
- 23:01believers, people of the book, right?
- 23:03The Bible.
- 23:04So go ahead and share briefly how we fell for this.
- 23:07How were we deceived in the West?
- 23:10Yes.
- 23:11So sometimes people start around the sixties or seventies when they talk about the influence coming in of yoga.
- 23:17Um, one thing to point out is that did happen in the sixties and seventies is a specific philosophy of yoga called tantra philosophy, where you would understand tantric practices, which are very vile, uh, sexual practices.
- 23:32Uh, that philosophy itself is actually where you get cancel all traditions, flip things on its head.
- 23:40be attracted to anything and anyone, all of those things, yes, there was a heavy influence of Tantra philosophy during that time, but yoga entering America really started around 1898.
- 23:53I would say a little bit probably before then because it's connected with evolution and how that was moving into the culture, but a panentheistic worldview of God and yoga philosophy was really coming in heavy in the early 1900s.
- 24:08And so you see this movement of it coming in.
- 24:11And then you see in the early 1930s where there's this huge push to specifically, I may have to figure out how to get the images up because I have a book that shows the picture of it, but specifically to target people.
- 24:28Protestant Christian women in suburbia.
- 24:31So there should be a question if any audience right now is being Protestant, oh, excuse me, Protestant Caucasian Christian.
- 24:40So Protestant Christian Caucasian living in suburbia.
- 24:43And from the 1930s, they show a Caucasian woman practicing her sun salutations, do this 20 times a day.
- 24:51They describe it later on in the 50s.
- 24:55You see Marilyn Monroe selling yoga.
- 24:58So it came through Hollywood, marketed through this.
- 25:02And then there was also a huge push of this is science.
- 25:06There was actually, we now know where it's documented, where they actually said they would change it to the word
- 25:12Well, the Bible talks about science falsely called, and that word is actually also contradictions with the more that you understand their worldview and philosophy.
- 25:22There are so many contradictions within it anyway.
- 25:25But
- 25:27I just from that science falsely called.
- 25:30So it was going to be called science and it would be this whole movement.
- 25:34And of course, there was a lot of movement with the Transcendental Meditation, which is just yoga.
- 25:39That also came through, but it was marketed.
- 25:42The other issue, and I know we're running out of time here, but quickly I can tell you.
- 25:47from theosophy a lot of people have heard of theosophy and these higher Luciferian occultists so yes it was sold to higher elites yoga was sold to this and then theosophy theosophy has many many influences and mystery religions which all of these came from again Egypt the East
- 26:08these influences here.
- 26:10But the thing is with the Theosophists, the more that you studied them, one also I should say he was not a Theosophist, but along in the same genre, you've heard of Aleister Crawley and people show pictures of Aleister Crawley.
- 26:23Well, look at his material and how he conjured Bephamed
- 26:28and the demon gods and where he got his ideas.
- 26:30One of his books is on yoga, and he said yoga, the physical, the things that people do at the gym.
- 26:37And so this should also flag Christians if they're using this to conjure demons, but so did the theosophists.
- 26:44Annie Besant, Alice Bailey, they were yogis.
- 26:49They also had material on contemplative prayer yoga.
- 26:53Annie Besant had lectures on yoga.
- 26:55Annie Besant actually talks about
- 26:57One of the ways is to use the pronouns, switch the pronouns to help get to this panentheistic God, because that's canceling out the pronouns would help us realize all God through these yoga practices.
- 27:10And then, of course, it was that was specifically Bailey targeting the Christian church.
