  [SPEAKER_00]: So looking at the actual news that we have here, it's that Ron Myless, Jaguar's secondary coach, has been,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Justine Anderson of, I don't even know who she worked for right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But justine Anderson's NFL insider, she said the Jaguars are moving on from Ron Milis.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But it feels pretty official because he has no longer on the Jacksimal Jaguars website when it comes to the coaching staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, I mean, any time you have a team that goes from 4 and 13 to 13 and 4 in one season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's an incredible turnaround, and I think a lot of the Jaguar's coaching staff deserves credit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think even though Liam Cohen and company have decided to move on from Ron Myless.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's been coaching the NFL for over 20 years, as a secondary coach, even though they decided to move on, I think that they would give him a lot of credit for some of the improvement that you saw this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, that also doesn't mean they don't think that they can potentially do better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to just assume too much, but based on Joseena Anderson's wording of her report, the Jaguars have decided to move on from Ron Milus, that suggests the Jaguars have fired him, not that he's quitting, not that he's,

  [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like the Jaguar's decided to move in a different direction, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that based on that Reading of of her report The Jaguar's decided to move on and and have decided they think they can upgrade that spot now He was their secondary coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They also had a defensive backs coach and Anthony Perkins who came over

  [SPEAKER_00]: with Anthony Camponele from Green Bay where he was a defensive quality control coach in 2024.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They also have an assistant defensive backs coach, Drew Lesgari, who also

  [SPEAKER_00]: had connections I believe to Campany Lab before this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He spent the seven seasons on Rutgers football staff, safeties coach 2022 to 2024.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they didn't overlap at Rutgers, but there's obviously some northern northeastern ties there between camp and Luskari and, you know, a lot of this coaching staff is from the Northeast.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguar's do have potential in-house candidates

  [SPEAKER_00]: to step up and fill those roles.

  [SPEAKER_00]: With, again, Anthony Perkins, the defensive backscoach and Drew LaScarry could potentially upgrade his role as well as system defensive backscoach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In my estimation, ultimately, it's not hard to look too far back and see what happened in the wildcard round of the playoffs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And maybe think of potentially that performance

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about two busted coverages on the back end, your secondary coach is definitely going to take some responsibility, some blame for that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Two busted cover, like we've talked about this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If Josh Allen is just diamond you up and he's your tight coverage and he's completing passes on you, that's one thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a completely different thing for him to get free access throws down the field because you have multiple busted coverages on both sides of the field and then you also have just a situation where I've talked about it a lot this year, a lot of their coverage felt soft and just because you're aligned off the ball doesn't mean you have to have

  [SPEAKER_00]: a soft feeling to your coverage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you're lined up, X amount of yards off the ball, but you're playing your technique perfectly, it's not going to feel as soft as it did sometimes this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think, potentially, they could find someone who could teach the technique in Campanile's defense better to the outside corners, and someone who maybe could do a better job with,

  [SPEAKER_00]: helping that group not have coverage bust.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What's coverage busts were not a major part of the Jaguars 2025 season, however, in some of the games that they lost to the bills, to the Texans, Bengals, to an extent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Bengals was less about coverage busts and more about just, you know, great players, making great plays.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there was some that popped up in some of those games, for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then I think maybe technique.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not like some professional defensive back coach, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I would have to assume they feel like they can get someone who can just teach what they're trying to get a little bit better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: teach what they're trying to get out of this scheme out of these players in the scheme.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, I'm not saying he didn't do a good job because when you look at some of the guys they had out there, buster brown career year Antonio Johnson career year Eric Murray had a really good year when he was out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ray on Lane as a rookie

  [SPEAKER_00]: didn't play a ton but when he was out there he did pretty good he had to he did have one coverage bust where he just kind of bit and got beat deep but uh you know over all much improved there there intercepted him passes which not all of that was the defensive back room the secondary and Devon Lloyd has a big big part to play in that but yeah I mean obviously some good things were done Travis Hunter when he was out there corner looked like

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, I'm not trying to knock the fact that the Jaguars are moving on or defend it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just kind of laying out the different kind of factors and different things that you have to think about here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, the Jaguars have not officially announced it, but he's not on their website.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Could you look at somebody that can't put Nile has worked with before or maybe somebody from the Fangeo tree or I think those are different things you can think about and obviously that's assuming this staff is back in general, defensively like if Anthony Camp Nile goes and gets himself a head coaching job you better believe some of the guys on this defensive staff are going with them and getting upgraded spots, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And selfishly, again, I hope that camp is still here, but I'll be happy for whenever he does get the head coaching opportunity because he'll deserve it, because he's a hell of a coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he's putting a lot of time and effort into this business, this profession, this career.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't necessarily really expecting the Jaguars to fire coaches.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think that there a team that would scapegoat a coach certainly not at this point in their team build.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they feel the need to scapegoat a coach because it's not like it's like, you know, your owner is demanding answers after going 13 and 4.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that this was a decision they made in-house, where again, they feel like they can do better at that spot from a coaching standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Do they promote from within, and then bring in, like you could say, Anthony Perkins is now the secondary coach, real scars, the defensive backs coach, and you bring in another assistant defensive back coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe there will be more changes.
