- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans welcome in to do all daily presented by Jen Jack.com.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Maluga.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Wednesday, August, twenty-eighth.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: The Jacksonville Jack Wars have their last preseason practice in Jacksonville prior to preseason week three.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: There will be some practice next week after
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: Their final preseason game looks like I don't have the schedule yet, but this is the last one before they go down to Miami, which they'll go down this afternoon.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: They will take on the dolphins and joint practices tomorrow.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then they have a game Saturday at night, seven p.m.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: against the dolphins.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not expecting to see a lot of starters in that game, but that remains to be seen.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's a topic for another day.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're recapping Jaguar's training camp practice number eighteen.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: There was no pads today.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: We do have some updates on the injury front.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: All that good stuff.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all be in here.

- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up your new Duval gear like the hat I'm wearing right now.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: No pads today as I mentioned.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: So you expect maybe it's gonna be a light practice just getting ready for Miami tomorrow.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: It was for a no pads practice.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was a pretty intense practice pretty competitive, right?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't just like a walk through day.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't like it was the day before game it was a competitive practice no doubt about it now on the injury front Tyson Campbell he put on the orange no contact penny today to play during team so he participated fully during team
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: If it was a regular season practice, they may have had him listed as limited because of, again, the orange non-contact penny, but he was out there in team.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: He was out there in his positional drills.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: He played a lot.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: It was good to see him back on the field really getting after it and playing competitive ball.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be critical for the Jack Wars as having Tyson Campbell.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Now Travis Hunter was not practicing during team.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: He was available during positional drills.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack said yesterday, Liam Cohen did after practice.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: Today was about getting him ready for joint practice.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted Liam Cohen once.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter to be able to play both sides of the ball tomorrow.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know officially yet whether or not that will happen, but the Jack's goal was to get Liam to get Travis Hunter on the field on both sides tomorrow in the joint practice setting.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where we're at.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: He did not practice during team, but he was available during positional drills and individual.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Smith was still out there doing team today, Eric Armstrong's dead same thing.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: So again, really good to see those guys out there getting acclimated during the team portions of practice, really ramping up to be ready for week one.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: At this point, it feels like you should have Tyson, you should have Travis, you should have Eric and Mason, offensively on the offensive line, you had ants on Harrison out there and team, you had Jima dug out there and team.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: So it feels like things are getting to a point where you feel a lot better.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Again, know why at Mylam, who's week to week, no Kayla Branson, who's still week to week, no Jailama Cloud, week to week.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lann and Buster round both out for the remainder of training camp.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of where we're out with the injuries here.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now Josh Chief has did not participate in practice day.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: He was out there.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's not participating in practice.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: So one of you get to update on that as soon as we can.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen didn't speak after practice.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: It was the coordinators and and Yammy Brown.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: So did not get an injury update after practice today.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully tomorrow.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Drill wise.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: There were some more screen drills, which we always love to talk about that.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Love seeing the intentionality of some of the drills that are run during positional periods.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Also saw wider severs practicing their blocking during the positional periods.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's something Liam Cohen emphasized.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: The wider severs really need to be taking pride in and getting to that next level as blockers.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: So this this offense can really become everything it can be.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: for this offense to be as good as it possibly can be the wide receivers need to be effective blocking.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: They practice tempo during team today.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think you've seen that a couple times this week so getting things going quickly end of half or maybe you just have an opportunity where you feel like we can go tempo here and get the defense off balance a little bit.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Tank Biggs be looked crazy explosive today.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: This is a offense I've talked about at the running, running back room
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: As much as even me, like I think Bachelorette is the most complete guy, all these skill sets can help this, this offense.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: Tank Biggs, we skill set, Travis CTNs, Bachelorette and Lee Quint Allen, they can all help.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's good to have them all.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that the Jags kind of roll into the season with all four.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: in the plans.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Biggs, like I said, he looked really explosive today.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: He also had a catch out of the back field, which is good to see from him, had a big catch in the game on a screen, had a nice catch today.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: So if he's going to get involved in the passing game and be involved in the passing downs at all, he's got to be able to show reliable hands and be able to pass pro a little bit.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So good practice from him today.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Hunter Long had multiple catches today, had another long catch down the field.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen that a lot from him.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: And in practice, you saw it in the game.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: against the Saints the other day, big catch down the field.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe somebody who can potentially provide explosives with his length is athleticism and size, just a big target who can move down the field.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's been targeted down the field in multiple different ways and converted quite a bit.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick McCary and Chuma Doga were kind of switching out at right guard with the ones today.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could say the same thing with Lloyd and Miller at Lionback, although I saw more Devon Lloyd with the ones than Vintro, but you did see them sub out a little bit.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: So some competitions there, Tutan and Allen both had some work with the ones today, Tutan had more, it was more Travis ETN and Tank Biggsby with the ones, but Tutan is getting more and more work there.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something to keep an eye on for sure as well.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: And again, Lee Quint Allen even getting out there and passing down situations with the ones.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that the jacks are planning on having all these guys involved with the offense, which is cool to see.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Mullins was intercepted by Deontrae Prince today.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: Mullins, he shares Blame, the receiver shares Blame.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was a high throw over the middle.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick Herbert had to, you know, jump as high as he could.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Try to get that football.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: He got both hands on it.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: So he does have some culpability there.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: But it was not a catch.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: You would expect a undrafted free agent, rookie tie-in, to make.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: So the pass was high.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: High and over the middle is usually a recipe for disaster.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: And it ended up being a disaster, with Dian Tray Prince picking it off.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Good play by him, adds up play.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: I saw Emmanuel Agba,
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: getting a sack on John Wolford.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: I saw Josh Heinz Allen getting a sack on Trevor Lawrence.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: BJ Green got a sack as well.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Devon Lloyd was there too to clean up if Green didn't get him down.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: And again, these are all, you know, would be sacks because you're not in the quarterback.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson had a big pass break up in team.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then we get to Trevor Lawrence.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: did have multiple catches down the field in team today.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: And total, I think he had three catches on six targets, five or six targets.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor and him had a miscommunication on the goal line.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Lawrence threw a fade.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Thomas ran a quick slant.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Don't love to see that, but it is what it is.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: right after that, by the way, Parker Washington did get to great touchdown that we'll talk about, but Lawrence also missed Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: down the field one on one with Tyson Campbell.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was just an uncatchable pass out of bounds and Trevor kind of, you know, was visibly frustrated after that one with himself.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: So it is what it is.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: Then you had a drop by Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: in a tight window.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think they were like, fifty percent.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: trying to connect today.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Not a great day from Trevor Lawrence to Brian Thomas Jr., but even on a not so great day, there's multiple downfield catches and another first down catch.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of confidence, I think Trevor Lawrence has going back to the well with Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: I still expect it.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: to work out in a big way during the regular season, that connection, along with Travis Hunter, who you haven't been able to see this week during the team portion of practice.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN was heavily involved in the passing game from Trevor Lawrence Day, had multiple catches out of the back field.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington had multiple catches, including a great throw in catch in the Red Zone, close to the goal line.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: Jagged needed to score, I think it was third down on that play.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: They had driven the ball down the field, and it was a,
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was like a matriculation type of drive, right?
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like very, you know, you're getting to third and short, you're converting these types of things.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like just an explosive drive for the jack's offense.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was taking their time, ball possession.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Not, not, not being perfect, but, you know, getting the job done when you need to get it done on third down.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: And this was another example of that.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: The throw to Parker Washington with Jordan Lewis and tight coverage.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was perfect ball placement by Trevor Lawrence and it was a great contest to catch by Parker Washington for a touchdown.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: The entire offense kind of celebrated after that one.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Britain strange had multiple grabs today from Trevor Lawrence.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: He really looks like he's developing it to a very nice safety valve for Lawrence.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jarian Jones broke up a pass intended for Austin Tramel and then ended practice with a pass break up covering Diamy Brown down the field.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Lawrence was on the run, kind of threw it up because he saw one on one with Diamy and Jarian and Jarian got the better of that one.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: So overall, I thought that Lawrence had an okay practice, but you know, this is not
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: a referendum, type of day.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think you want to see a good day from the offense in the defense tomorrow in joint practices, because the dolphins have had joint practices and not looked very good, quite frankly so far, so I think that's what you want to see.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: But Lawrence had one turn over where the play, it was maybe the first pass of team.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: He took a deep shot to Deami Brown and
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell and Andrew Winger had it covered pretty well.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: Do we got his hands on it, but couldn't come down with it.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: There was one battered pass at the line.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: I did not see who got that.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: There was one overthrow of Austin Tramel and then Brian Thomas Jr.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: had a drop.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: So overall,
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: Not like an outstanding day, but a workman like day, a competitive day, often some defense were both competing at a high level in my opinion.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think the defense probably won the day, but it was competitive for both sides.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll do it here.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
