- 0:00I will apologize for last week. We weren't here, but we are back this week.
- 0:03Dan, you have a job to do in three days. Well, not a job, but something you said
- 0:08you're going to do. Your packs tickets go on sale in three days.
- 0:13On sale, it comes to good timing. Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm with your
- 0:19hosts Matt, Luke, and Dan. Multiple
- 0:24Nerdgasm, your guide to all
- 0:28things nerdy.
- 0:35They're on sale in 3 days or I've got 3 days to get them. They're on sale in 3
- 0:39days. All right. They go on sale for a lot longer than 3 days.
- 0:43Yeah, but the early birds 3-day passes always go. I've done that. Yeah. No,
- 0:49they actually they're actually the early bird passes are still on sale for quite
- 0:52a little while. It's not like a But last time I couldn't get I couldn't get a
- 0:56three-day pass. I had to buy three once because you left to like a month before
- 1:00pack. Yeah, that that is that is true. That is true. Not the six months they go
- 1:05on sale beforehand. That's why I'm just giving you plenty of notice. I was like,
- 1:09I've got time. I'm just asking for tickets and they give them to me. What
- 1:12are you guys doing? All right, we'll do that as well. But I also like Yeah, just
- 1:16to make sure. Make sure. It's very very possible they'll say no to me one day
- 1:21and I'll be and then I also like to give like the pass away. Oh yeah.
- 1:27Our list has been to a few packs old passes that I've given away. Yeah, good
- 1:30point. Cuz I'm nice. One of them's been to packs on my pass when I had to leave
- 1:36early on the last day. Mhm. But this time you're planning better.
- 1:41You're there for the full three days. We leave on the Monday, we get there on the
- 1:44Thursday. Yeah, definitely. Cool. And I'm not going to eat an oyster
- 1:50between now and then. So I'm [ __ ] ravenous for one. Yeah. So somebody else
- 1:54will buy two dozen like that. Oyster famished. Can't do the three dozen
- 1:58anymore. They're too expensive. I'm not going to eat three dozen. Eat eggs instead.
- 2:04Just do one oyster, one egg. One oyster, one egg. Not anymore. It's back. They're
- 2:08back now. Oh, you guys fixed it. I thought Trump was going to fix that. We
- 2:12just killed all the sick birds. Oh, well that's the other thing I do eat a
- 2:17pack. We tried that with co and it didn't work. We just we we we put the hard work in.
- 2:23But mind you, today I went to a farm and and we collected our own eggs and that
- 2:26was that was quite fun. Yeah. Right. I know a lot of people are actually
- 2:30getting their own chickens again. I'd like a chicken. I thought about
- 2:35that. We got coyotes though and I I just don't want to deal with that. And then
- 2:39also winter they're not going to do well in winter. To be clear, wild coyotes.
- 2:43You don't have coyotes, right? Yeah, correct. I've got a [ __ ] I mean,
- 2:46they're in my yard. Coyotes out there. I think they're mine now. Well, I have a
- 2:50rabbit in my yard and uh I started feeding him, so he's not going anywhere.
- 2:56Yeah, how'd it get in? There would have been a
- 3:00lot of dig. Yeah, it's this. It's not hard to get into my yard. I saw him in
- 3:04my neighbor's yard cuz when I'm out on my balcony here, I can see into three
- 3:08different people's yards. And you used to wait for people to go outside bathing.
- 3:13Well, it's usually me. It's usually me that gets caught short, right? Well, I'm
- 3:16like, I can just go out in my underwear to hang up my washing. I'm like, I
- 3:19wouldn't be doing this washing if I had something to wear. All right. Um, but I
- 3:24saw this little guy across there and I'm like, it's pretty cute. So, Harper and I
- 3:27put out carrots for him. And then I'll lure him in like this is going to
- 3:31happen. And then, well, yeah. Then every day now he's just now he just lives in
- 3:33my backyard. Okay, that's nice. Yeah. I mean, he he scuttles off if he sees me
- 3:40coming out. He doesn't want to be my pet, but he's quite happy to live in my
- 3:43house. Happy to be fed. And it's like the rest. It's like my kids really. You
- 3:47don't even have to clean up after it. Yeah.
- 3:53Yeah. We got rabbits hanging about usually. Squirrels. Delicious rabbits.
- 3:59Yeah. Not a big fan of rabbit. They call them squirrels over there, though. They
- 4:03don't They don't say squirrels. They say one syllable. I tried to teach Lara that
- 4:08they were called squiggles, but she's not she's not having it. She's not
- 4:11having anything anymore. She had no time for jokes. I had a great dad moment the
- 4:16other day when I was reading Harper the Jurassic Park book before bed. Right. Or
- 4:20not Michael Cryon's Jurassic Park, but just to be clear, I've got I've got a
- 4:24dumb down kid version of it. Right. But she really likes it. And Chaos Theory.
- 4:29Yeah, that's right. So, we're reading through I do the drip on her hand every
- 4:32night. But um we're reading through it and just because I'm me and I'm a dad,
- 4:37every page I'm like, "And do you know what that dinosaur is called? That is a
- 4:41brachiosaurus." Right. Right. Just you know, third page in I go to I go, "Do
- 4:47you know?" And she's like, "Dad, I don't know what any of the dinosaurs are
- 4:50called." Okay. Yeah. Just stop asking. She's like, "If we see Tyrannosaurus
- 4:56Rex, you can ask me. I know that one." Yeah. Have you tried to explain to her that
- 5:02the velociraptors aren't actually called velociraptors? Yeah. And they don't look
- 5:06anything like that movie. Yeah, that's right. I don't watch movies like that.
- 5:09Yeah, that's right. I haven't seen this. Yeah. The other night I was we were
- 5:14reading and I I slipped with the book and it bopped her in the face and I
- 5:17said, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, dude. I'm doing I'm doing such a bad
- 5:20job." And she literally goes, "No, no, no, Dad. You're you're doing great.
- 5:23You're a great dad." And I said I said, "Is there anything I could do better as
- 5:28a dad?" And she goes, "Yeah, read the book.
- 5:33Shut up." Yeah. She tells you that all the time. Yeah. I start asking questions
- 5:37or you mess around. She's like, "Read the book." That's why we're here. I've
- 5:42got these book credits and you're wasting time. Exactly. Yeah. She um so
- 5:47Jenna got back from Ireland. Jenna got back from Ireland and um she
- 5:52told there she's going to catch her leprechaun. Oh, shout out to Steve in
- 5:56Ireland who listens to the show still. I learned that's the leprechaorn. I don't
- 6:00know why that surprised me, but uh I didn't have a leprechaorn listener. They
- 6:05caught a leprechaorn called Steve. Steve. They're often um often friends of
- 6:09ours listen, but then they don't listen forever and then they go away because
- 6:12they're like, "Yeah, sick of it." They're like, "This is
- 6:16Apparently Steve still likes us or because we out them as gay on the show."
- 6:21That's not what this is. I just wanted to shout out Steve because he's a good
- 6:25dude. No, Steve. He's a nice guy, but he is a raving homosexual.
- 6:31No, we agreed, but not doing that anymore. It doesn't end well. True. Um,
- 6:37so she's in Ireland. She said she was going to catch a leprechaorn. So they
- 6:40got her little toy leprechaorn and she was sending me photos of him doing
- 6:44things. Yeah. And then so I'm showing them to Yria and she goes because she's
- 6:48she's just not stupid anymore. Yeah. You know what I mean? She's like, "Is that a
- 6:52toy?" And I said, I said, "Let me check with mom." And uh I said to Jenn, "She's
- 6:59not buying this shit." And Jenna said, "Tell her that they turn into toys when
- 7:03you catch them." He was real, but then I caught him turn into a toy. And so I
- 7:07told her that. And L's like, "Okay, can I see a video of him turning
- 7:13into a toy?" Yeah, we're [ __ ] busted, mate. She's
- 7:19not having it. I don't know. They must cuz our daughters are very very close in age.
- 7:24But Harper has like had a cognitive
- 7:27leap. Yeah. Right. To teenage level
- 7:32[ __ ] Yeah. Like sash. They're just not falling for [ __ ] anymore. Yeah.
- 7:37Yeah. Just wait till they are teenagers and if they're already like this. [ __ ] hell.
- 7:43I have no idea what our kids are going to be like when they're older because
- 7:47there's no benchmark because no kids were raised like we are raising our kids
- 7:51now. And I I don't mean that like we're doing a better job. I just mean like
- 7:55it's just totally different. So there's no there's no benchmark. Well, there's
- 8:00no just off you go. I'll be home by street lights. Yeah. I there's
- 8:06definitely none of that. I kind of wish that she could have that, but I
- 8:09understand why they don't do that. We're not allowed to do that anymore.
- 8:13Literally not allowed to do that anymore. Yeah. Because it's funny
- 8:15because people like, "Oh, there were no pedophiles around when we were kids. We
- 8:17go anywhere we want." I'm like, "Well, we're pedophile. That's why we don't do
- 8:20it anymore." Yeah. For them. It It is one of those things
- 8:25where it's like the odds are pretty low. Like very low. But it does happen. So
- 8:30that's why we You can't just do what we do. Like literally just [ __ ] off in the
- 8:35morning and your parents don't know where you are until the street lights
- 8:39come on. you know, you've got to be home by then or you'll get hit with the
- 8:42wooden spoon. We had no phones, no nothing. Like it was just uh No. Yeah.
- 8:47Like there was no I wouldn't There was not even a public phone in the the town
- 8:51I grew up in. Like we used to try to get as far away
- 8:56from home as possible. Where does this dirt road go? Like that was our kind.
- 9:00Across this field will be the first I've ever been from home. Mr. Frodo,
- 9:05before we take one more step Oh, I must give a shout out.
- 9:09There's a a podcast that I've started listening to. I say podcast. It's out.
- 9:13You can find it in the podcast app, but it's just a guy reading Lord of the
- 9:18Rings, right? Oh, yeah. And that's called an audio book. It's called a free
- 9:22audio book. It's called a free illegal audio book, right? Except he does a
- 9:27great job and he does all the voices really based on the the actors who
- 9:32played them in the movie. So, you know, like in the movie like like Sam's got
- 9:36the kind of like the the like West Country accent and and you know, like he
- 9:42does he does strict movie accents. I'm really enjoying it. Yeah. Yeah. Till he
- 9:48comes to like things that aren't in the movie like the Tom Bombadil chapter and
- 9:51it's like then all bets are off. He's just doing what he wants. Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:55He's wonder if he's looking for work and this is his like Yeah. Oh yeah. Maybe.
- 10:00Maybe because actually it's beautifully put together too.
- 10:03Okay. Is Lord of the Rings public domain the book? No, it's and I can tell you why I know
- 10:09it's not is because when someone I know
- 10:14and I'm married to
- 10:18was it executive producing the uh I can't be vague the ring of rings of
- 10:24power. It could be anything from the book. Yeah. Right. They could use
- 10:29sylmerelion and they could use appendices and they could use
- 10:33un set before isn't it? That's really fascinating because I know people whine
- 10:37about certain things like that and but there are that's interesting that
- 10:41there's a reason for that. That's the reason. That is the sole reason. It'll
- 10:44become public. Are we are you going to get in trouble for scooping this? Well,
- 10:48I was I was vague enough I think, wasn't I? I hope so. But no, there is it will
- 10:54come public domain on January 1st, 2044.
- 10:58So we only got that far away by then.
- 11:02Yeah, but then we could make our own.
- 11:05Yeah. Well, we're all Gandalf. Well, we could do we could we could do a
- 11:12side quest. Gandalf, Ratagas, and Saramon before he goes evil just on an
- 11:17adventure. Three wizards. Roman where they're just mates just hanging
- 11:23out. Yeah. Smoking their P. Christopher Lee. It was good watching watching him the other
- 11:29week. The movies. I got thinking again. Every time I see Christopher Lee in
- 11:33something now, I can't help thinking about, you know, there's that story
- 11:35about, you know, like him just [ __ ] knifing people in the jungle during
- 11:40World War II. To qualify that, please. Sorry. He was he like No, no, but his
- 11:46life is just Yeah. Because there's that story of him shooting a film where the
- 11:51guy gets stabbed or something like that and he's like, "Oh, I could tell you
- 11:54exactly what it sounds like when you knife him." What happens? Yeah. You hear
- 11:57his last gasp and it sounds like this. And the actors are like, "Fuck off,
- 12:04mate." Like, "What a guy." Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're just actors. We'll just We
- 12:09don't need to know what it's really like. What a Sorry if I glaze over. It's
- 12:15because for some reason my um screen just keeps going dark. You glaze over
- 12:21like a donut. Yeah. Oh, I'd love a donut. Don't eat me. Don't eat me. That
- 12:26would be a little too many of my 1700 calories I'm currently allowed per day.
- 12:30Oh, 1 1700 doesn't sound like a lot. It's not a lot. It's basically three
- 12:36square meals and no snacks. Work out more.
- 12:41Yeah, depending on the time only only cardio workouts count as um like
- 12:48offsetting calories too. So if you do if you do a strength or resistance training
- 12:54you mean like on your tracker or just in life? Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. No, no, on
- 12:58the on my tracker. Yeah. Yeah. I know. I know what you mean. Um not to talk about
- 13:03[ __ ] Alan Richardson again. I think maybe people are going to think we have
- 13:08a bit of a man crush on him or I have a bit of a man crush on him. You know the
- 13:11guy you can have a man crush on anyone. He's a [ __ ] specimen of a man.
- 13:14Handsome dude. Uh did you watch that interview with him where he said that he
- 13:18did the [ __ ] was it Dex Machine or whatever and his like just base level
- 13:22calories is 3,800. It's just like [ __ ] off mate. He can
- 13:26just eat whatever he wants. Yeah. It's so many calories.
- 13:32Still buff. Yeah, I know. It's crazy. But I mean he must spend a lot of time
- 13:36in the gym. Yeah. But I was listening to an interview with knows how to do that
- 13:41now. Yeah. It's got good metabolism. Good. I listened to an interview with
- 13:44Hugh Jackman the other day. Oh, yeah. Whom whom I I enjoy enjoy Hugh Jackman. Um
- 13:51I enjoy his body. But yeah, huge jacked man. But the uh somebody was like, "Oh,
- 13:55what's you know what it was just after finishing Wolverine versus
- 14:02Deadpool." Yep. And he was like, "Oh, how do you feel now that you finished?"
- 14:05And he's like, "Well, I don't have to eat a chicken breast the second I wake
- 14:08up in the morning, so that's a plus." Yeah.
- 14:13Yeah. It is weird to be whining about stuff like that. But like the the I used
- 14:18to think, you know, like Mark Wahberg always used to complain about how much
- 14:22food he had to eat and I'm like [ __ ] shut up, mate. But it actually Oh,
- 14:26you're on a billboard. Kind of [ __ ] annoying. Yeah, exactly. But then it's
- 14:30not like they're preparing this food themselves either.
- 14:33Yeah, that's true, too. Yeah. Yeah. So, like also this for listeners who don't
- 14:38know, the reason we're so [ __ ] into this stuff now is because we have a
- 14:41challenge ongoing. Yeah, we do. I'm going to join it soon. Yeah. Join it.
- 14:45Get get your get your sugar-free tonics and get in. We didn't share the before
- 14:49photos, did we? That doesn't I don't think we share them with each other.
- 14:53Share them. Well, depending on how good a shape we get into, I'll decide whether
- 14:58we can share later. Um, but I I've been watching a lot of
- 15:03like golden era bodybuilding videos on YouTube.
- 15:09Really high. Not that I'm bodybuilding, but it's just I find hearing those guys
- 15:13speak more motivational than modern fitness gurus. Modern fitness gurus, the
- 15:19way that they live their lives is just so beyond anything I'd be willing to
- 15:23ever do that I'm like, nah. Whereas if you listen to Arie and his
- 15:27contemporaries, they're like, "Just [ __ ] eat, then go to the gym, mate."
- 15:30Like, you know, like, you know, don't eat bad [ __ ] and and work out and you'll
- 15:37be fine. And that's I can get in on that. But they are skipping one path and
- 15:40that's you also have to inject yourself with steroids. Yeah. Yeah. There's that
- 15:45like because that was also a big part of that error. Yeah. Yeah. Also true. But
- 15:50but then again, I don't need to get big. But there's this great interview with
- 15:53him where the interviewer goes, "Oh, is it genetic? Can anyone do it?" Like,
- 15:56"Could I do it?" And then Annie just goes, "Well, yeah. I mean, anyone could
- 15:58do it, but why would you want to?" Very, very few people have any need to build
- 16:02muscles like this. Actually, no one does. Well, he does useful muscles. They
- 16:09are if you want to compete in the Mr. Universe, but that's the only thing
- 16:12they're useful for. Like, you see the strongest men in strongest man
- 16:17competitions, they're not built like that. And it's not even like we've
- 16:20talked about this I think too before is that like girls don't like it either
- 16:24when you get that big. You're doing it for other men.
- 16:28Yeah. Yeah. But I think we can all agree like when we we've none of us look like
- 16:32that. We've we've known women. We've been with women. Like you don't you
- 16:36don't have to have that. It's not a prerequisite, you know? Like Yeah. I
- 16:41tricked one into marrying me without muscles. Yeah. That's what I mean. Like
- 16:44like there's like women don't go, "What's under the t-shirt, though? Let
- 16:48me see that before I make my decision. I mean, it might it probably helps. I
- 16:52mean, maybe in a spectrum, sure. But yeah, I don't know. I think it does
- 16:56work. I swear I've seen guys just lift a shirt and move and go, "Yep, that's the
- 17:00one." Yeah. Yeah. We have to be funny or when they get like the arrow that points
- 17:05to their dick in the muscles, that arrow muscle. I don't know what it's called,
- 17:09but Yeah. I once saw I once saw a guy just flash his Hugo Boss logo on his
- 17:15suit to get a girl like that at a club. Yeah, cuz um I mean she she started off
- 17:22cuz she was like, "Oh, nice suit." And he just like opened up the blazer, just
- 17:27pointed at the pocket. Let it go. Here you go, boss. I don't
- 17:32want to know. I don't want to hang out with either of those people.
- 17:36Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. True.
- 17:41Uh, I've been watching some stuff. I've been watching Yeah, I mentioned I've
- 17:45been watching Jack Ryan. I um I was like watching season three of
- 17:51it and I was like the [ __ ] this show changed.
- 17:57Good, bad or different? Just any different is not good. When
- 18:03anything it changes, it's not good. So Jack Ryan, right? You familiar with the
- 18:07character of Jack Ryan, right? I am. He's not James Bond. No. Except in the
- 18:13show, he became James Bond at some point where he's just an action hero who's
- 18:18going every time there's a [ __ ] mission he's on it and he's like doing
- 18:22Black Ops into a Russian battleship like ship container ship and he's with the
- 18:27team and this kind of stuff. And I was like, I don't think Jack Ryan does that
- 18:30in the books or the I saw him do a lot of administrative work. Yeah. In the
- 18:34media used to. So, I went back and I watched Harrison Ford in Patriot Games,
- 18:40and I'd forgotten, first of all, that Patriot Games is about uh Irish
- 18:44terrorists uh and Shawn Bean plays um the main villain. Yeah, we were too
- 18:50young. Yeah. Well, he he was [ __ ] young in it. Yeah. Uh but and it is very
- 18:56good movie, but yes, very different to what the TV shows become. Like Jack, you
- 19:00do Clear and Present Danger next. I I am actually. I've got it.
- 19:05Nice. But he's an older guy. He's ex CIA and then he comes back to CIA which just
- 19:09the TV show is quite different. He's young. Yeah. He's an analyst. And in the first
- 19:15in the first season of Jack Ryan, he gets kind of caught up in this thing and
- 19:18he gets involved in these kind of I guess action sequences, but he's not
- 19:24like running around like [ __ ] people and hand to hand combating everybody.
- 19:29Scene two, three. They're the guy he calls they call first to send in. He's
- 19:32[ __ ] let's suit up. Give me all the guns and like [ __ ] fighting
- 19:36everybody. And just in a way that that was my one uh the one negative thing
- 19:42that I can say about Slow Horses because if you love espionage, especially
- 19:46British espionage, you should watch Slow Horses. But the premise of Slow Horses
- 19:49is that it's set in this one branch of MI5 where if you [ __ ]
- 19:55up on the job, you get they can't fire you. they just put you in this place
- 20:01where you don't get any assignments, right? And you just end up doing
- 20:05paperwork all the time. So, you've got these like gung-ho agents just just with
- 20:08desk jobs. But then like season one, there was like a coincidence that made
- 20:15the main MI5 job and their job coincide and they
- 20:20ended up saving the day, right? Cuz obviously that's the show and it was
- 20:23very interesting. But then every season, oh, suddenly we're the best and we're
- 20:28saving the [ __ ] country and all this. I was like, yeah, but then why are they
- 20:32still in in in the shitty place? Yeah. Like if you're that promote some of
- 20:36these guys now. Yeah. Yeah. But it doesn't work well for the TV show in the
- 20:42street. No. No. It wouldn't work at all. Yeah. Yeah. So I I think they just the Jack
- 20:48Ryan I think they just decided, oh no, we do kind of just want American James
- 20:52Bond. And they probably just had that honestly they were probably just getting
- 20:55feedback that people were liking the action more than the paperwork. And well
- 20:58when I looked I know I was like watching season two I I kind of noticed it but I
- 21:02was like I mean it's still good. It's not this bad show or anything. It's just
- 21:05like just season 3 was way more obvious to me that's like this is different to
- 21:08the show I started watching like the it's a different show now cuz he's
- 21:14Yeah. the the the even the type of plot and what's happening to him. I'm just
- 21:19like is it not the same as what I what it was? And then I looked online and
- 21:22everyone says the same thing. It's just like what happened to this show changed?
- 21:28If that's how people seem to feel season
- 21:314 seems slightly more like season one
- 21:35now that I'm up to it. So we'll see. This is probably they were getting
- 21:41feedback people like the action. Then you got season 3. They did more of that
- 21:44and then as you said you were reading people going no this isn't what we want.
- 21:46So now they've readjusted again. Yeah. Well this is on happy. Yes. Well, Amazon
- 21:52have their own James Bond now. James Bond. That's right. They don't need Jack Ryan.
- 21:56And I'm sure they'll do a series. It won't just be movies like there was
- 21:59before. They'll they'll try to prequels sequels. And James Bond Jr. Time to
- 22:04shine. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a because it
- 22:10was supposed to be his nephew, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have siblings in
- 22:12the cannon. James does not have siblings.
- 22:16Um, but there was so much freaking out online in the last couple of weeks by
- 22:23people going, "Well, it's 2025. They're going to be making James Bond a woman
- 22:27and American and probably black." And Amazon have come out and said he will be
- 22:32a man from England. Look, they've already picked the next James Bond. It's
- 22:37Rahul. Yeah. And he is a man and he's British. So, yeah. And he's not black
- 22:43technically. Yeah, he's Oh, yeah. I know. Darker than I am. But he's he's
- 22:48man of color, just not that color. So, that reminds me of something. So,
- 22:51there's And he's funny. Chatting with a friend of mine who's a
- 22:55primary school teacher recently, right? She has year three this year. And um I
- 23:01was saying, "Oh, what are year three kids like?" And you know, compared to
- 23:04when we were that age and stuff like this. And she was like, "Oh, the funny
- 23:07thing is none of them swear. It's just not cool to swear anymore. Like just
- 23:10none of them swear. I'm smoke or drink apparently." Yeah. Well, that's right.
- 23:13Well, I mean the year three, man, but um when we were kids. I mean, let's
- 23:19not exaggerate how hardcore we were, but um All right, fine. But she goes, "Yeah,
- 23:24but she said this," which I thought was funny. She goes, "Yeah, yeah, they don't
- 23:27they don't swear. They do use the N-word a lot, though." And I was like, "What?"
- 23:33Oh, I mean, I would consider that swearing, you know, really.
- 23:38Um but evidently so she's she's out in
- 23:42Penri right and there's a lot more South Asian people in Penri than there used to
- 23:47be. Um so lots of Indians, Pakistanis,
- 23:51Bangladeshi out there now. Um and they
- 23:55use it to each other and then when she tries to reprimand they argue no we can
- 24:01say it because really Yeah.
- 24:08Interesting. Weird. I can't imagine like a third grader saying that in casual
- 24:14conversation. Yeah, it's pretty Yeah. Yeah. It's And it's used very casually
- 24:18evidently. Give me one moment. I will return.
- 24:25Okay. If you don't, Luke, and I will divide up your things. Oh, he's fully
- 24:30gone. Muted. Muted video. Nothing. Yeah.
- 24:35I don't think I think I think just realized. Oh, yeah. Could be no pants.
- 24:41Could be no pants. I'm thinking someone who's more awake though. It could be
- 24:45erect. It could be he didn't want to get up. Like pants on. Pants on but erect.
- 24:51Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we can still continue though. Yeah. I'm sure you put
- 24:57stuff in a spreadsheet that you want to Oh, I want to know. Luke, did you watch
- 25:00the Las Vegas rugby match last night? I did. Yes. Yeah, I Yeah, two weeks ago I
- 25:07I watched the highlights of it. Yes. Because I mean I It's It's weird. It's
- 25:13just It's just a game. There's nothing special about it. It's just a game being
- 25:18played. Yeah. Except it's just not a game they usually watch. Except that
- 25:23there were a lot of Australians at it. Yeah. I just love that because like I
- 25:29mean I know Penri are doing very well for the last you know several
- 25:33consecutive years but to me they're just the team from the shitty suburb I grew
- 25:38up in. So the fact that they are the ones that represent Yeah. And they are
- 25:45looking at this year I think it did better over there cuz I think this is
- 25:48the second year they've played in Las Vegas. the first year they were meant to
- 25:51be played on ESPN, but because a college basketball game went over, they got
- 25:56transferred to like ESPN 8 or what, like a a shittier version of it, right? So, I
- 26:03think the ratings this year it was on free to air, so it got more ratings, so
- 26:06it got more people watching. So, they're trying to sort of build it up to
- 26:10be sort of more of an international sport. Yeah. I mean I mean it already was when
- 26:16we were kids it was just New South Wales. So just one part of Australia and
- 26:20then there was one CRA team, one Queensland team, then there was a New
- 26:25Zealand team and now there's you know now it's very national. So now we've got
- 26:29we've got a new team starting in the NRL next next year or the year after. Papa
- 26:33Newu Guinea. Really? Really? Which is going to be just a team. That's cool.
- 26:38Amazing. Yep. We're great. We're Australia's investing
- 26:43money into it to start building it up now. And then in a couple of years,
- 26:46we'll have a new team, building up the country. Yep. With the
- 26:52purpose of making an NRL team. Yes. It's a very Australian thing to do.
- 26:57Or whether it was a different way of investing like to help out the country.
- 27:02Like we're going to give you money for this which will build up. Yeah. They're
- 27:06like, can we have some food and some medicine? And Australia's like, you can
- 27:10have a 40 team. That's what you can find. Here's a ball
- 27:14kicked us around. Well, a lot of our good football players do already come
- 27:17from there. So, it makes sense to give them instead of happening there like
- 27:22playing there, growing up there and then moving over here, give them sports
- 27:26instead of sustenance. But that that then again I think it was New Guinea
- 27:31that Australia actually owned for like an afternoon
- 27:36because if it wasn't Papa New Guinea, it was Timor East. one of one of those very
- 27:42very close to us island nations that was
- 27:44a British um colonial property and then
- 27:50I think the British gifted it to us like at the end of World War II and then we
- 27:55just immediately said yeah you can you can have self-determination we just we
- 27:59just let them but I think something behind it is like it'll sort of bring
- 28:04business there as well because the games will be played there as well so people
- 28:07will travel build up so We'll do a lot, I think. And I just Do
- 28:13we know what Do we know what their mascot's going to be? No idea. What do
- 28:16they got there? Yeah. Some kind of beast. They have a kiwi. No.
- 28:23They've got a small bird of some sort, don't they? Papa New Guinea. I don't
- 28:27know. [ __ ] Japanese soldiers hiding in the trees. That's what they [ __ ]
- 28:30got. Guinea pigs. It's going to be a jacked up guinea pig. That would be very
- 28:36good. Even if they were the guinea pigs, that's not even closely the lamest
- 28:41mascot name. You know, the guinea pigs from No, South America. That's what I
- 28:46was going to say. Yeah, that's what I thought, but I didn't want
- 28:50to sound foolish. I do that for us.
- 28:55Um, do you guys watch Severance yet? No, I still haven't gone back to it. Luke,
- 29:01have you only seen up to episode four still? Yep. Yeah. Does it get better?
- 29:06Cuz that just It just goes back to normal. That was a That was a a
- 29:10bottleneck episode. It goes just There's one There's one additional bottleneck
- 29:15episode. Yeah, I liked it, too. This is the tallest waterfall on Earth.
- 29:25So, yes, the finale has happened. Okay. Did you like it? I did like it. I did. I
- 29:30just don't I don't know. It's one of those things where the mystery
- 29:36is still it's strange to me now. Like,
- 29:40okay, all right.
- 29:43Like, it's not I don't know. I don't
- 29:47quite get it, but yeah, I still going back. I think we had too much time to
- 29:53think. Yeah. Well, they've come out and said season 3 definitely won't be three years
- 29:58from now, so Okay, that's good. I think that may even have something to do with
- 30:02it. It was just so long in between. Yeah. No, I don't know. Maybe lost its
- 30:08appeal a little bit maybe. But I also think after some time you forget the
- 30:13nuances and you only remember the broad strokes. So season one and season two
- 30:18are very different cuz season two just leans into that weird mystery whereas
- 30:23season one was actually just a good drama. That's what I That's what I mean.
- 30:26I think it's just it's become very um gotten I don't know like you don't have
- 30:30to explain everything like and link everything together the goats were they
- 30:35got the first one and goat the episode the second was I didn't like it has a
- 30:40payoff really quite quite a big payoff but but they didn't need one like that's
- 30:46what I mean like it was weird stuff's happening no one knows what's happening
- 30:49just and in fact this payoff would have been okay if this was to pay off to that
- 30:55episode in season one and not the payoff to that entire plot line at the start of
- 31:00season 2. You know what I mean? If that just wasn't in the middle and this was
- 31:04just oh the goat, of course, it would have been better. Yeah, I completely agree.
- 31:10And yeah, it's just I don't know. It's it's like this. There was this story
- 31:15going on and the weird stuff was sort of there but now like it's like they're just
- 31:22explaining all the weird stuff. Yeah. season and it's just like no no you
- 31:25don't have to do that. I did love I loved the scene where Mark was arguing
- 31:32the innie and the Audi were arguing with each other. So I did say I did wonder
- 31:37how does the innie know how to use a camcorder but how do they know it's it's
- 31:41weird the kind of amnesia they have because um bit it's convenient at times
- 31:46but it doesn't really matter cuz when um like when in this episode it was
- 31:50actually it was a cute moment where she was like equator. Yeah. She's like, "I'm
- 31:54trying to remember cities that aren't Wisconsin." And and he's like, "Uh, the
- 32:00equator. Is that a city?" Like, I think it's an island. Yeah. And he's like,
- 32:04"Maybe it's a building." Yeah. Um, but he can use a camcorder.
- 32:10But Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. No one had to explain what a computer is or how
- 32:14to speak English. But also, do we know what time this is set in? No. I see I
- 32:18thought that came up again because they went to the train station in this
- 32:23episode if you recall. Two characters, I won't spoil anything. Go to a train
- 32:28station and he gets a like a stamped ticket and everyone's in like kind of
- 32:33it's just a older style. Didn't notice that, but yeah. You're right. Okay. And
- 32:38I was like, when is this set? And cuz all the cars are old and [ __ ]
- 32:43Yeah. And the computers are obviously like retrofuturist.
- 32:49Yeah. But that's inside which is meant to be different. Like what's that's easy
- 32:54to control. Um Mrs. Coel Harvey Coell's
- 32:58character her [ __ ] truck is garbage but and it's which is interesting as
- 33:03well because you would think why isn't she well paid? Isn't she incredibly
- 33:07wealthy? Yeah. Yeah. Or does she just choose to drive that car? Yeah. Exactly.
- 33:11It's just there's a lot of things like that where it's like doesn't matter. But
- 33:15that's that's kind of what I mean about the other stuff too is that like you
- 33:18don't have to explain why she chose to drive a [ __ ] old pickup truck. going
- 33:21to be an episode about that the way it's going like oh yeah
- 33:27there'll be a whole side quest where she an episode where you find out where she
- 33:31bought that car and it looked brand new but by the end of it was she had you
- 33:34know I think characters like Milchic like don't do an episode about Milch it
- 33:38when you explain it mystery of Milch is so much better
- 33:44where he got the paintings yes no see
- 33:48that stuff was great so He he gets he gets um Patricia Rakeet's job, right?
- 33:55Yeah. And they take down all the paintings of the founder from her office
- 34:00and put bring in new ones where he's black, where all the people are black in
- 34:04the paintings because Milchic is black and they want him to just feel more at
- 34:09home or or something. But there's and it's just this scene of him just like
- 34:13looking at them clearly like not knowing how do I feel about this? Yeah. Is this
- 34:18racist or not racist? Yeah, it's very funny. It is. His character is great.
- 34:24What? Rewatching season one too. His his character is amazing, too.
- 34:29If they if they decide to definitely make James Bond American, he should be
- 34:32up for it. He'd be he'd be good. He's very good in this. I will tell you
- 34:37something. I have watched that. I went back to I watched Myy Quest again. Oh,
- 34:41yeah. From the start. The latest episode. I haven't seen the latest is
- 34:47their sort of their standalone episode. Oh yeah. But not it still is
- 34:53got characters in it. It's remember in season one how he has a son. Yes, that's
- 34:58right. That's whole thing. And then season two just three completely
- 35:01forgotten. Sure. It's this episode is about the son sort of coming to terms
- 35:05for being a streamer that's going from like that childhood to adult sort of
- 35:09phase and how trying to do the whole acting out, starting fights and then
- 35:15realizing no, it's okay just to be himself. No, it's like quite a nice
- 35:20episode
- 35:22when that show was garbage. So good.
- 35:28Yeah. It's just weird. This has become this has become to me like Community
- 35:33which was the the the the distance between the quality of the
- 35:38first season of which of Community is some of the best TV writing ever and
- 35:44then the garbage we got by like season 4, season 5. Like that's when Dan Harmon
- 35:49was fired. Yeah. Yeah. But which was good cuz now he makes Rick and Morty
- 35:56which I like more. I just don't understand why now. Like
- 36:01slight spoilers, I guess. You know, well, I don't even have to do spoilers.
- 36:04Just like Po Poppy and Iron, right? The way that they're doing that. It's just
- 36:08so odd now that she's got this other love interest and all that stuff that's
- 36:14going on. It's just like, well, I think the thing you wasted the the
- 36:19relationship that they had. The whole game and company.
- 36:24Oh, yeah. working on a whole expansion just on there. It's doesn't make any
- 36:29sense. And they just did that in secret, the two of them over a few weeks. And I
- 36:33guess not that it has to make sense except that you've set it around this
- 36:37real thing, which is a video game company. So, it kind of does have to
- 36:41make sense in a way. Otherwise, why did you do that? Seems to be working on the
- 36:44game or anything happens with that. Yeah. The game's just not in it so much
- 36:49anymore anymore. Yeah. Well, the former testers still part of
- 36:54the show cuz they became my worst characters because they're not doing
- 36:58that job anymore. They're not there's newest season one. They were great. They
- 37:03were great. I mean, the two new testers are two of my favorite actors from It's
- 37:08Always Sunny in Philadelphia that I just wasted. There's the the waiter is one of
- 37:13them and the his Charlie's creepy uncle, the lawyer with the small hands.
- 37:19Yeah. But you both just sort of wasted in it though. It's I've got two kids in
- 37:24the trunk. Have you touched them yet? That guy,
- 37:28the lawyer.
- 37:35But look, I'm hoping that the there's the four episodes that are coming out
- 37:38soon, which is the side quest, whatever it's called, which should be interesting at least.
- 37:44But I don't think we need any more mythic quest. No.
- 37:50Oh, more Always Sunny. When's that coming out next? They were shooting it,
- 37:54I think. Speaking of streamers, I just scrolled up and noticed Amaranth Home
- 37:59Invasion. Yeah. What? Yeah. U four kids,
- 38:04four teenagers, [ __ ] burst into our house, held her
- 38:08at gunpoint, and uh Jesus. Yeah. And said what?
- 38:14Uh I think they wanted money. Oh, money. Yeah. which I was like, "Oh, that's that
- 38:19could have gone funny in the house." Uh, that's also very different cuz normally
- 38:24the reason why sort of fans are breaking into these houses is because they've got
- 38:28a relationship that they have with them. That's right. It's me. I
- 38:33keep whipter. Wow. Jesus. Oh, no. They
- 38:37demanded crypto. Yeah. Yeah. So, not real money. Not real money, but money.
- 38:43But like, yes, you're right. When I as soon as I saw the headline, I was like,
- 38:47"Oh, they wanted her." But no, just just money. Yeah.
- 38:54Oh, yeah. That's a
- 38:5717 a 16, 17, 18, and 19 year old.
- 39:02And and and all all boys, obviously. Yes. I mean, even if they not trying to
- 39:07rape her like Yeah. And I
- 39:12mean, yeah, not good. Jesus. Not good at all. I guess she was just a target to
- 39:18because she they know she's wealthy. So, yeah. And now, was it actually Were they
- 39:23actually fans of her or does she just live somewhere that's and they just
- 39:27Yeah. It could be a convenient target. Yeah. Just Yeah. They just happen to be nearby.
- 39:33Well, that's terrifying. Mhm. Yeah. That's why you hear some of these
- 39:38streamers now having to have security all her husband shot at them uh and then
- 39:45they ran off. Jeez, that could have ended a lot worse for everyone. Yeah,
- 39:49absolutely. [ __ ] hell. All right. Well, there you
- 39:55go. So, I guess I don't want to get pistol whipped. No. No. Not good, but
- 39:59less creepy than the uh what's it? Gavin and uh and umgan
- 40:06Megan. Me. Yeah. Where they were going to kill him. So to have to take her to
- 40:12marry her. Yeah. Both of them terrifying in another way.
- 40:18Yes. But this is equally terrifying, but just less like creepy. Yeah. Yeah. This
- 40:24is like Yeah. Yeah. Opportunity, money, let's do it. Like I can understand their
- 40:28motivations in that they want money. I don't understand somebody who's like,
- 40:32"Oh, if I kill her husband, she's obviously going to marry me because
- 40:36that's how it works. If you murder kill the king, you become the king." She said
- 40:39my name and said thank you. That means we're engaged and she just needs to get
- 40:44away from her husband for for us to be together cuz I tipped her that money and
- 40:48she said thank you. No, you're right. Now you've explained
- 40:52it, Luke. Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah. I mean, don't get me wrong, that's the appeal
- 40:57of social media stars is that unlike a movie star, you can interact with them.
- 41:04You can say, "I really like this video." And they might put a little thumbs up on
- 41:09your comment or something. That's But that's the whole point, right? Yeah,
- 41:12because I was listening to there's a debate online about whether Only Fans is
- 41:18um exploitative of the customer
- 41:24because you are taking advantage of lonely people, men mostly, let's be
- 41:29honest, who who are in a pretend relationship with you. And then they
- 41:33were saying like one side was saying, you know, like is it fair for you to
- 41:36pretend to do this and that kind of thing? And the other the girl like with
- 41:39the I forget her name. The girl the only fans girl on the other debate team was
- 41:43like that's what they're paying me for. Like if you don't if I didn't pretend to
- 41:49be like the be interested in them. They that's what the that's the that's Yeah.
- 41:54Exactly. That's the whole thing. Like Yeah. Yeah. It's not like like I was
- 41:59like yeah I guess that's true. Like it is explanation but it's literally what
- 42:02they're paying them for. So it's not like they're tricking them or anything.
- 42:05That's the point was that I'm not fooling them, they know what this is.
- 42:08They know it is. But the problem is the ones who don't know that. Yeah. And
- 42:14they're like cuz they're like, "Oh, you shouldn't be doing it that way." It's
- 42:16like, "Yeah, but that's that's what they're paying for." Like they wouldn't
- 42:19pay for it. Pretty good point. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If I just went videos this
- 42:24amount of time. Yeah. If I sign off every message with saying, "By the way,
- 42:28I'm not actually your girlfriend. You're paying me to do this." Like they're not
- 42:31going to. No one wants that. which and and I reckon like 99% of all people know
- 42:36that's all it is. Yes, I'm sure I'm sure
- 42:40that's true. It's just like like a little I don't know fun thing I suppose
- 42:46for most people. Yeah. But then you get the people who think, "No, this is
- 42:49real." They start to believe it and then it ends badly. M but they're not the but
- 42:55but but they're not the people complaining to 60 Minutes that it's
- 42:59exploitative cuz they're the ones who think you find some of them are like
- 43:04I've spent $100,000, right? Cuz they're also the ones that I
- 43:10think start to believe it more. That's not fault. Yeah, I was about to say cuz
- 43:13I also like again like I've I've known women. I've been allowed to be around
- 43:19women. You know, women have allowed me to spend time with them for extend
- 43:23before the lawsuit. You could that you could be near many women. I'm trying
- 43:26again. I'm trying to just be vague. I've not been asked for money by any of them,
- 43:31you know? Like that's the difference. Really? [ __ ] Jen ask me for money all
- 43:36the time. Yeah. Yeah. The trick is to find a woman
- 43:42who Sally dwarfs yours.
- 43:48No, I think it's they start off doing that and then I think some people just
- 43:52start to believe believe in the fantasy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure. But don't
- 43:57they want to believe? Like surely that's the transcendent moment when you forget
- 44:02and you just go, you know what? I'm just going to put in my credit card details
- 44:05and just keep enjoying your company. Yeah. I do think there's a reason you're
- 44:12doing that and not going on a real date. Yes. Exactly. There's got to be some
- 44:15sort of difference at the beginning between the people who are like aware of
- 44:21what it is and just doing it and don't care and the people who are getting
- 44:25confused about it, right? You've got to start from a different position, I
- 44:29think. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Whether you realize it or not. But
- 44:34whichever position you start in, don't break into their house.
- 44:38No. That is never okay. You have not paid for the privilege of that. Yeah.
- 44:45Although I was I was going to say you should you shouldn't even know where
- 44:48they live. But I mean people people can find this stuff out. But I was I was
- 44:51listening to a a review show of Amigga games cuz that's
- 44:57just what I do in my spare time. Um, but they were pointing out how funny it is
- 45:01that um, often the person's home address of the developer will be in the review
- 45:07because that's how you got the game is that you you got it on mail order like
- 45:13from Oh, sure. Actually, I was talking to um, Carlo about this last week. Um,
- 45:19remember we used to get like the the Nintendo 64 and the Sega magazines and
- 45:22stuff and the back of those magazines there's a pen power section which will
- 45:27just give you the name, age and address of people in other countries that around
- 45:32Australia and stuff where you can just send them letters. That's go through
- 45:37checking or anything. That was just okay. And again, you could say, well,
- 45:42there were no profiles back then. There were. That's why we don't do that anymore. Yeah.
- 45:50Yeah, we just didn't know about him. Yeah. Well, that's how that's the story of um
- 45:56Oh, what's his name? Gizmore drives a Ferrari. Cliff Blazinski. Cliff Bl.
- 46:01Yeah. He met someone off forums and Cliffy B. Cliffy B. And got sort of
- 46:06molested a little bit. That's right. Did he?
- 46:11Didn't know that. Yeah. He met Lauren on
- 46:14the she molested him and he loved it.
- 46:18molest him every night. Yeah. Yeah. But no, when he was younger, he just met up
- 46:23with a guy who was talking about Did you read his Yeah, I listened to it. I
- 46:28haven't I haven't. Yeah, I haven't too actually. It's okay. That's how I found
- 46:31out about that. Yeah. Yeah. Chapter one. I've got photo
- 46:36with you. Because if it's anything like Ken um Ken Sierra, what's his name? Oh,
- 46:42yeah. Ken Williams. Ken Williams. Color in her underwear.
- 46:46just how [ __ ] sexy she is the whole way through. Well, weird when you
- 46:52actually start listening to that and Roberto that really started that
- 46:55company. Really? I She's got a personality and Ken is a [ __ ]
- 47:00business savvy dude. Like he knows business. Yeah, but I assume it talks
- 47:05about some of the stories about what went on at Sierra with the [ __ ] hot
- 47:09tub and like Yeah, but that was I think that's cuz he has like a [ __ ] crazy
- 47:14ass wife who's just like free love, free spirit, you know what I mean? Like and
- 47:18it was the stories about that place are [ __ ] crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's
- 47:24like classic. Yeah. That's all in the book. He's [ __ ] proud of that [ __ ]
- 47:27Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Just [ __ ] 80s. We got a bunch of money.
- 47:33Let's get some hookers and blow in this hot tub. Basic like literally need
- 47:37hookers. He basically talks about how just all of the staff were beautiful and
- 47:42would just come into the hot tub at the end of the day. Like yes, [ __ ] hell.
- 47:46Do it now. Well, no. The problem is they have Well, they tried to do it at
- 47:49Activision and they got Yes, they had the Cosby room. That's right.
- 47:54They don't even like Don't Don't literally say it's date rape. No, that's
- 47:59right. Yeah, I think they tried to do it. I just don't think they got the
- 48:04difference. No, no, no. But to be clear, it's good that they couldn't do it. I'm
- 48:08not saying like gone are the days. Like you should shouldn't just assume that
- 48:12the women in any state. Well, no. It's because there is ways that some of this
- 48:19could sometimes happen if everyone's comfortable with it. But the problem is
- 48:22is normally guys will take it too far. And to be fair, in Sierra offices, I'm
- 48:28100% sure they were all comfortable with it. They just that I get too is that
- 48:32they also enjoyed making developing video games as much as they enjoyed
- 48:36being in the hot tub. And I never got the sense that it was a creepy thing. It
- 48:40was just they were all just [ __ ] party animals. Yeah. Yeah. And it was
- 48:43Robera who loved video games. Ken just loved making money. Yes. Right. So yeah,
- 48:48she designed all the games in the Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 48:54Um Yeah. Yeah. No. Go. I was going to say before just on the subject of Cliffy B.
- 49:00I have a photo of me in Cliffy B. But he's dressed as a giant blender. Oh yes.
- 49:04The fruit [ __ ] from the arcade. And the photo was taken by Lauren. Amazing.
- 49:09So, but like when I show people the photo, they go, "Well, I'm sure it is."
- 49:15Yeah. Both of those things could be true or you could be full of [ __ ] But that's
- 49:18that's the best thing ever, right? Yeah. That's great. Um, we should go as the
- 49:24dickwolves from Penny Arcade. Oh, the controversial Dick Wolves. Very, very
- 49:29controversial. Let's do it. We should go as Dick Wolf,
- 49:34executive producer of Law and Order. Law and Order.
- 49:39God must be raped to sleep by Dick Wolf.
- 49:43Oh no.
- 49:50Investigate that crime. Has I need to ask, has anyone started playing
- 49:53Assassin's Creed yet? No, I actually learned it was out when
- 49:58you guys were talking about it. No, I've started playing. It's getting
- 50:02good enough reviews, I believe. Oh, you're playing it? Playing it? Yeah.
- 50:06Um, one thing I found got I thought it's not going to be like the other games
- 50:11where you can just pick the character you want to play with and away you go.
- 50:13It doesn't seem to be that way. You can switch between them, right? Well, not
- 50:18yet. I haven't. M. Oh, I I played as each of them for one like very small
- 50:25part and now I've just played as her the entire time. There seems to be no way to
- 50:27change. I think it's actually just to be to to clear and be really blunt and
- 50:33offensive. You can either play as a black man or or as a Japanese woman,
- 50:36right? Yes. [ __ ] woke woke 2025 [ __ ] Although when I was playing as
- 50:43him, he's a real person. Tank. Oh yeah. Yeah. just walk through slaughtering
- 50:49people, cutting their heads off. No, I do I do think it was hilarious that
- 50:52people were saying, "Oh, I wouldn't I don't want Why is there a black man? I
- 50:56can't play a white man cuz it's cuz this is what actually happened and they're actually
- 51:03Yeah, good. There's an argument to be made, right? That you obviously
- 51:08like No, but I don't think they wanted to play as a Japanese guy either. I
- 51:11think they I just No, I know they wanted
- 51:14[ __ ] Enzio or I don't know.
- 51:19But they obviously sort out a diverse character, which is I I have no problem
- 51:24with that. But other I guess that is an argument people can make is that why is
- 51:28why couldn't why is there just a Japanese man and a Japanese woman like
- 51:32but I love the fact that people thought that they were just trying to introduce
- 51:36shoehorning someone in there, but no, he's a real person. No, that's an actual
- 51:39real thing. There's a literal I don't know if there's a photo of him or or a
- 51:43painting, but there's like I think there's a photo. Yeah, I think so.
- 51:46Right. Yeah. Yeah, but have you heard there's also cannon mode? Have you heard
- 51:50about this? Yes, I didn't pick cannon mode. This is interesting. So, you can
- 51:55put the game in cannon mode, which just basically takes forces you to play the
- 52:01game in order to create the story. Oh,
- 52:06but you can't turn it off once you've turned it on. Oh, no. There
- 52:11was another When you say in order, you mean you can't just go and do random
- 52:13quests and stuff? Mhm. Huh. You got to do the next quest it wants you to do to
- 52:18do the things in the right order. Cuz trust me, I've done a lot of stuff out
- 52:22of order in this game so far. Right. Well, out of order. I actually just came
- 52:27ac I didn't That sounded wrong. I'm not even in Japan.
- 52:32I just was walking along saw someone murdered someone and then it started a
- 52:35whole tree which I hadn't even started this storyline. I know I've killed him
- 52:39now. Yeah. Right. Right. cuz you know how it's always you got to go. If it was
- 52:42Indiana Jones, that character would just be in any location you went back to.
- 52:47Yeah. So, no. Um I'm enjoying it so far, but
- 52:53yeah, sort of must be must I must need to get past chapter one or something
- 52:57before I can start choosing to swap characters. Is it um what does it play
- 53:02like? Which of the previous games? Yeah. Okay. Like any of the last few? Yeah.
- 53:08But is it more like Valhalla or more like like Odyssey and that cuz there is
- 53:13a difference in just the way the game and I felt Valhalla was the weakest of
- 53:17those three? It's well but it doesn't have any boats. So Oh, thank god. I kind
- 53:23of just mean like the character movement. I guess I'll have to try it. I
- 53:27don't know. I felt like I know that um with he's just like a tank and you can
- 53:32just walk around slaughter everyone. With her you need to play a little bit
- 53:35more defensively. I found Yeah. Right. Sorting. Are you sorting people? Sorting
- 53:41people. Or is it? Yeah. I also I found a mode that you can turn on, which I
- 53:47didn't know you could turn on the past. You know how in like early Assassin's
- 53:49Creed games, you when you assassinate someone, they just died. Yes. And then
- 53:53in the later ones when you assassinate them, depending on how strong they are,
- 53:56they might survive and you still have to fight them. Yeah. You can turn an option
- 53:59on that if you assassinate, they just automatically die. That's cool. I've
- 54:03turned that on. That's made the game a little bit easier. H I don't know if
- 54:08it's cheating as such, but if it's an option. I went to the effort. Also, who
- 54:13cares? Sneaking up behind them and stabbing them. Should then have to break out into
- 54:19battle because they didn't die immediately. I think the Assassin's
- 54:23Creed police are going to come arrest you for putting that option on. That
- 54:27option they gave me. Yeah. But no, I'm enjoying it so far. I'll let you know
- 54:32more next week when I'm a bit more into it. I've only really started playing it
- 54:34today for a few hours. probably play it when it's on sale for $10. Yep.
- 54:40That's how I play my Assassin's Creed games. I just got it because I've got
- 54:43Ubisoft Plus. So, yeah. I have the deluxe version. Yeah. I I start playing
- 54:49Assassin's Creed games years after everyone else has played them when they
- 54:53go, "What? You haven't played that?" But that was really good. Except for the
- 54:57first one which I bought pretty early on. Like the first the very first one.
- 55:01the only one that they will for some reason not remake or remaster or
- 55:06anything with. Funnily enough though, I did buy it again because I saw it for
- 55:10very little money on the Xbox store like last year or the year before and I
- 55:14bought it cuz I was like [ __ ] yeah. Back to the start and I'm like no no no.
- 55:18Well, it's also very different cuz it's not quite open world. It's, you know,
- 55:22you load up different areas of the map and it's a bit of a different game than
- 55:26it is now. Yeah. Yeah. And Yeah. Yeah, I think it's on sale recently like for $250.
- 55:33Yeah, that's Australian money. So, it's probably free in America or they pay
- 55:37you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Trumps, I think they call them. Two two Trumps. Two
- 55:42Trumps. Oh, two Trumps. I should look up the
- 55:47exact Musk Hitler quote for the next for next episode.
- 55:54After partying, I've been playing uh Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. Are you
- 56:00playing this or are you playing this with someone? No, we uh we take turns.
- 56:04Is this Is this Toad like Nintendo Toad or a different Toad? Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
- 56:09It's like a little What about this? It's a good game. It's really good. So, it's
- 56:13just levels that are like kind of little diaramas, little cube diaramas that you
- 56:17spin them around. You walk around it and you got to get the star and collect gems
- 56:21and stuff and solve puzzles. And uh it's good. It's really good. We're enjoying
- 56:27it. LRA's LRA thinks it's [ __ ] hilarious because Toad does like goofy
- 56:32things and she laughs. 3D pixelated game. Pez where you had the fez. That
- 56:38was it. Pez. It's [ __ ] eating little candies. Um where you had that fish game
- 56:43cubul Yeah. Fish where you you'd have to spin it around to have different Yeah, a
- 56:49little bit like that. Yeah, but it's 3D and you can spin it freely. But yeah,
- 56:55basically it's like a Each level is like Oh, I see. Yeah. Yeah. It's good.
- 57:00Okay. So, you have found your new game to play. I play this. We have. Yeah. It
- 57:04was on sale and I was like, "Oh, she might like that." Uh, and she
- 57:10Yep. We played um we played uh we go to
- 57:14this like kids place up the road in the mall and like little miniature arcade
- 57:20and they have um Mario Kart with steering wheels and pedals and it's
- 57:25cool. So fun. And I literally looked up
- 57:29how much you you could buy them to like
- 57:33Yeah. They're $170 for one and I'd need
- 57:38two. Mhm. If it was 170 for a pack of two, I might consider it. But what you
- 57:44can do is you can get just these little steering wheels that are like this big
- 57:48that you just put your little switch thing in. Yeah. And I'm and that's like
- 57:5220 bucks for two. So I'm thinking maybe cuz that might be still just quite fun.
- 57:58I think I have some. You can have them. Look. All right. Cuz I brought a pack
- 58:04when I needed a a tennis racket for my peach outfit. Oh, yeah. cuz you can get
- 58:09a pack with every shape of
- 58:14memories. Memories
- 58:18um anybody still playing? Yeah, I played heaps of Avou this week. Okay. And I can
- 58:25now say with absolute certainty after playing it for quite a while that Yeah,
- 58:29it is quite boring. No. Yeah. I I liked it at the start
- 58:34because it was about it. It was just that it was that sort of Skyrim
- 58:38scratch. It was just there, but it's just when you really get into it, that's
- 58:43sort of empty. Yes. Yes. Yes. That's a shame.
- 58:49Like, yeah, you just you you just end up running around from place to place
- 58:53killing things. And like my character is very boring. He's quite boring. And um
- 59:00that's on you, isn't it? He doesn't do anything. No,
- 59:05just No, I don't know. And it also, as opposed to something like Skyrim or or
- 59:10just just sophisticated games, Fallout, etc., etc., it's very very clear which
- 59:15of the dialogue options you're meant to pick, you know? Oh, okay. Interesting.
- 59:20Pick this to keep going with the story. Pick this if you just want to choose
- 59:24something random for some reason. Like if you want to have a chat with this
- 59:27guy. Yeah, it's very prescriptive. I played It's still It's good, but I
- 59:34played a little bit. you got it's not a game you'll spend hundreds of hours in.
- 59:39Yeah, I think I said I'd gotten up to that first town. I kind of played a
- 59:42little bit more. I've got that guy with me now. The I don't remember a lot about
- 59:47it to be honest. A couple of weeks ago. Um and then I got to a certain point
- 59:50where I got Yeah, exactly. And then I
- 59:52got killed by monsters and um and then I was like I should probably finish Cyber
- 59:59Punk before I get too involved in this. So I go back to one great moment with
- 1:00:04him though because we I found this I I went down in this mine and down and down
- 1:00:08and down and down and I found this guy alive too wounded to to take out. So we
- 1:00:15didn't know what to do. And he goes, "You can't just leave me here. I'm a
- 1:00:18virgin. I don't want to die a virgin." And I turn to I turn to Kai and I'm
- 1:00:22like, "Can you do something about this?" And he goes, "No, no." I draw the line.
- 1:00:27"No." And then he goes, "Oh, you mean heal him?" "Yeah, heal him."
- 1:00:34So, I did get it far enough into the game that I can select who I'm taking
- 1:00:39with me now. And Oh, okay. Yeah. And do you have how many companions do you
- 1:00:44have? You can only have two at a time and I think I have three I can pick
- 1:00:48from. But each of them have different abilities that you can use to unlock
- 1:00:52other areas in the map. But you actually just learn those abilities. So it doesn't really
- 1:00:57change anything. But you will eventually go back to places to unlock extra stuff
- 1:01:02like when you get the fire stuff, you can burn through things. And I've
- 1:01:06already gone back to that first that first map to kind of clear
- 1:01:12additional side quests. The island you mean? Not the place you not the tutorial
- 1:01:17island. Not the tutorial island, but the next one. Yeah. Right. Right. Like I
- 1:01:20will go back and I will finish it, but there's other games out at the moment.
- 1:01:24Replay it, too. But there's a game coming out next week that I think you
- 1:01:28two might like. Go on. Atom.
- 1:01:33I've heard of that. Why do I sound familiar? Google it.
- 1:01:39Cuz it is sort of the Oh.
- 1:01:43for scratch. So it's set in England
- 1:01:48after an atomic bomb. I'm aware of England. I'm aware of atomic bombs. Post block
- 1:01:55story and not also this is long. It's
- 1:02:00not meant to be a long game either. There's kind of elements of folk horror
- 1:02:05in it too because like a lot of the enemies have like horns and stuff. Yeah.
- 1:02:09Now, when I say not a long game, evidently it's going to be about 25 hours.
- 1:02:14Okay. That's long enough. Yeah, that's absolutely fine. That sort of gives the
- 1:02:18idea that there'll be still stuff room for you to go and explore. So, but you
- 1:02:22can Yeah, yes. I'm looking forward This comes out
- 1:02:28on Game Pass next week. Oh, excellent. Game Pass. Perfect. Mhm.
- 1:02:34That's perfect. It comes out the 24th.
- 1:02:39So, I'm hoping I can finish Assassin's Creed tomorrow because I'm looking
- 1:02:43forward to this. Finish it tomorrow. I'm not going to finish it. I'm going to try
- 1:02:47though. Like 60 hours or something minimum. I can do it. Yeah. With Ubisoft
- 1:02:52games. 60 hours tomorrow. I'm with Ubisoft games I can sort of sit there
- 1:02:57and they become very formulatic for me at some stage where I I know how to
- 1:03:02explore and uh I basically go and unlock all the fast travel points as fast as
- 1:03:08possible then worry about the missions cuz then you can just fast travel
- 1:03:11quickly around the map and that's kind of how I'm playing a vowed actually
- 1:03:15because I'm basically just trying to open up the map at this point just going
- 1:03:21places exploring and what one good thing about avowed is if you can get to a
- 1:03:26place, there's something there that you're meant to see. Yeah. Like you
- 1:03:29can't just climb a mountain and be like, "Well, I'm up here now." You know, like
- 1:03:33if there's a path up there, there's a chest or a quest or something.
- 1:03:39Yeah. But no, I think there's a just I think there's a lot of games just releasing
- 1:03:45now at the moment because I think a lot of games are wanting to get out now
- 1:03:48because they're waiting for they want to get out before GTA 5 or GTA 6. I just
- 1:03:54don't care about GTA 6. Everyone wants to stay away. Until you said that, I've
- 1:03:57forgotten about it. But that's I know you don't, but the rest of the world is
- 1:04:03hanging for that. Every every day I read a new article that fans are upset or
- 1:04:07they're excited about something when no new information has been given out. Just
- 1:04:12fans have come up with just they just want to talk about it in the news. Where
- 1:04:16is this set? What what is this setting? Which one? Are they different? GTA. This
- 1:04:21is going back to Vice City. Oh, okay.
- 1:04:26Oh, now Dan's excited. In the 80s. Not in the 80s. Oh, well, [ __ ] it. Forget it
- 1:04:31then. It's basically it's going to be a lot of Florida.
- 1:04:36Okay. A lot of just crazy people. Oh, that's right. Because that guy Joker
- 1:04:40guy. Yeah. Oh, of course. Mhm. That's right. No. When's that come out? Oh,
- 1:04:47they haven't announced it yet. So, they're still saying fall this year. So,
- 1:04:51what's that? Oh, well that's an announcement. Spring or summer? Spring.
- 1:04:56Cuz it's only fall in America. It's fall here.
- 1:05:02It's autumn here.
- 1:05:06Fall. Same thing. Well, look, this we're come to the end
- 1:05:10of the show, listeners, but if you if you want to hear some [ __ ] news and
