- 1:04Speaker 4: The vast majority of people like my Lamar story.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Hi, Jeff, So I'm just I'm just saying.
- 1:11Speaker 4: That's all I'm saying.
- 1:12Speaker 1: But here's the thing, though, moj you get mad at
- 1:16Speaker 1: me when I just don't connect with the story and
- 1:18Speaker 1: you say that I'm an idiot.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Do you even know what Lamar is. You have no idea,
- 1:22Speaker 4: do you see?
- 1:23Speaker 1: But hang on a second. What you told was a
- 1:25Speaker 1: personal story that I'm sure was very fun for you,
- 1:28Speaker 1: that I, in the way can relate to, Like I
- 1:30Speaker 1: have stories about my trips over to kN Kun and
- 1:33Speaker 1: Cabo and all these different places are incredibly boring. But
- 1:36Speaker 1: but but I would say I had a really good
- 1:39Speaker 1: time doing this in this but it wouldn't be a
- 1:40Speaker 1: story I'd share on the air.
- 1:43Speaker 3: You're You're mistaken, Sorry, Jeff, We're taking up your time.
- 1:46Speaker 3: See most hope down for a second. Yeah, calm down, Leggy.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Most your thinks that his personal adventures like what makes

- 1:58Speaker 3: And no point in my life do I care about
- 2:00Speaker 3: what you do in your free time. Let's just get
- 2:03Speaker 3: that straight.

- 2:12Speaker 4: Hi, Jeff, how do you feel about parades?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Jeff?
- 2:15Speaker 2: How do I feel about parades? You know, I guess
- 2:19Speaker 2: I don't have a strong opinion.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Many see Moser's offended that you don't have a strong opinion.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 2:27Speaker 4: No, I'm not.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I've attended many parades. I mean that's you know. I
- 2:33Speaker 5: go to the grocery store a lot too.
- 2:36Speaker 1: All Right, So Jeff uh to the game this weekend.
- 2:40Speaker 1: First of all, I want to start here. I know
- 2:44Speaker 1: there's the the perspective talk that you can have that. Hey,
- 2:48Speaker 1: even if the Broncos lose this weekend, if I told
- 2:50Speaker 1: you they'd finished nine and eight, which and it's like okay, yes,
- 2:53Speaker 1: then I would have taken that before the year started.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But things change when they were nine to five, okay, Like,
- 2:57Speaker 1: do you view this as Broncos.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Don't win Sunday?
- 3:01Speaker 1: Is this a massive disappointment?
- 3:05Speaker 5: Well, I think if they don't win and then don't
- 3:08Speaker 5: get the help to make the playoffs that they need,
- 3:10Speaker 5: I think you're to me, the concern would be you'd
- 3:14Speaker 5: be looking at back to back December collapses. Yes, last year.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Last year they lost four of the last six, three
- 3:22Speaker 2: of the last four, and that means this year they
- 3:25Speaker 2: would have collapsed in December again, And to me, that
- 3:28Speaker 2: would indicate, you know, do you need to examine what
- 3:32Speaker 2: you're doing how you're doing it because uh, you know,
- 3:37Speaker 2: I don't know if back to back seasons is a
- 3:39Speaker 2: full blown trend, but it would be back to back
- 3:42Speaker 2: December's where a winning record was turned into a playoff miss.
- 3:47Speaker 2: So you know, I think that would be the concern.
- 3:50Speaker 2: You know, Yes, overall, there's been some progress, especially defensively.
- 3:55Speaker 2: You know, they're they're still you know, we look.
- 3:58Speaker 5: At the last three games.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You know, we all we always have the recency bias
- 4:03Speaker 2: and everything, but you know, there's still third in defensive efficiency,
- 4:08Speaker 2: which is one of the most important metrics there is
- 4:12Speaker 2: there their second and you know, expected points added another
- 4:18Speaker 2: huge metric GMS use to measure how good a defense is.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Their fifth in scoring defense. They lead in sacks. I
- 4:26Speaker 2: think that's where the most progress has been. And you know,
- 4:31Speaker 2: if you had any doubts that they have one of
- 4:33Speaker 2: the best players in football, uh, I don't think you
- 4:36Speaker 2: should have any of those doubts anymore. I mean, patser
- 4:39Speaker 2: ten Is, I think he's the defensive player of the year.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And if they had not removed my vote so they
- 4:46Speaker 2: could add two more East Coast guys, I would give
- 4:49Speaker 2: him my vote for Defensive Player of the.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Year, I want to know who we need to talk
- 4:55Speaker 4: to before.
- 4:57Speaker 3: What do you mean they took your vote?
- 5:00Speaker 2: I was just notified they wanted to add two more
- 5:02Speaker 2: guys from the Eastern time zone. So there is no
- 5:06Speaker 2: voter in Denver in the AP Awards for the first
- 5:10Speaker 2: time in my recollection. So if there's one thing, I
- 5:13Speaker 2: met the Denver voter for twenty one years, So I
- 5:16Speaker 2: don't know.
- 5:17Speaker 5: I don't know why they don't have a voter here now,
- 5:19Speaker 5: but they don't.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Well, if there's one thing, I know, Jeff, in sports,
- 5:22Speaker 1: the East Coast is always underrepresented. So I'm glad that
- 5:25Speaker 1: they got a couple more voys have.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Had a very difficult time getting their voice heard. I
- 5:29Speaker 5: know that. Yea. Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Here's the other thing.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It's funny you said one thing that shouldn't be a
- 5:35Speaker 1: question anymore is the star on defense, and you said Cirtan.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I thought for second you were going Benito because he's
- 5:41Speaker 1: in the same sort of category to me.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Oh no, I mean, you know, I just think if
- 5:45Speaker 2: you talk to people in the league, pantser Tan's the
- 5:48Speaker 2: best cornerback in football, and that's you know, that's what
- 5:51Speaker 2: GM's say. I'm not just saying that because I work
- 5:54Speaker 2: here or whatever. The guys who put teams together believe that.
- 6:00Speaker 2: And you know, Benitos, you know.
- 6:02Speaker 5: The Broncos better write a big checker. They'll watch Benito
- 6:05Speaker 5: play somewhere else.
- 6:06Speaker 4: And in a couple of years, Jeff, I've listened to
- 6:08Speaker 4: you talk about the reasons the Broncos should be wary
- 6:12Speaker 4: of the Kansas City team that's resting. Some players. Give
- 6:15Speaker 4: me reasons why they should feel confident about taking on
- 6:18Speaker 4: a Chiefs team that's going to be resting some very
- 6:21Speaker 4: key guys.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Well, Mahomes will be in a you know, not on
- 6:26Speaker 5: the field. So I think that's always the starting point.
- 6:30Speaker 2: But since the Chiefs, but you know, again, you got
- 6:33Speaker 2: a guy who's you know, helped lead a team get
- 6:37Speaker 2: to a super Bowl in his career, and he's made
- 6:41Speaker 2: a lot of starts, and you know, I still say,
- 6:44Speaker 2: we we can't all sit here and talk about culture
- 6:48Speaker 2: and all the rest of it and then ignore the
- 6:52Speaker 2: fact that Chiefs have nothing but a roster full of
- 6:55Speaker 2: guys who prepared for big games, been around big games,
- 7:00Speaker 2: played in big games.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Uh, but this is not a big game.
- 7:03Speaker 4: You can't how do you manufacture that emotion.
- 7:07Speaker 2: If an NFL player hasn't played all season and he
- 7:10Speaker 2: gets a chance to play, it's a big.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Game for him.
- 7:14Speaker 2: We we forget that sometimes in the Moser forgets that
- 7:19Speaker 2: trying to.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Think everybody does you know I I talk to my neighbors.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Everybody acts like this is a walkover.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And you know, you know, put the sharpie with the
- 7:30Speaker 2: Broncos in the playoffs, and I'm saying, you better just
- 7:34Speaker 2: handle your business, and you better act like every player
- 7:38Speaker 2: across from you is a chief starter.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Then you'll have the best chance of making the playoffs.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Hey man, they beat the Chargers. The Chiefs did in
- 7:45Speaker 3: a game that didn't matter with Blaine Gabbert as their
- 7:48Speaker 3: quarterback in the final game, so they've done this before.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Just don't assume I think the Broncos will take care
- 7:54Speaker 3: of business. I just don't like the assumption that it's
- 7:56Speaker 3: a done deal Miami. And the other thing that people
- 8:00Speaker 3: I think we need to understand. Cincinnati's not in the
- 8:03Speaker 3: driver's seat here. Miami's in the driver's.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Seat, and you know, and Vic.
- 8:07Speaker 2: The Broncos don't want a tiebreaker with either of those teams.
- 8:11Speaker 2: But if they finished, if Broncos finished nine and eight
- 8:15Speaker 2: and somebody else finishes nine and eight, the Broncos don't
- 8:18Speaker 2: go to the playoffs.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Why is that?
- 8:20Speaker 5: Is that conference record AFC record?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the Miami's AFC record will be better than the
- 8:25Speaker 2: Broncos and the and the Bengals beat the Broncos head
- 8:28Speaker 2: to head. So uh, if the Broncos finish tied at
- 8:33Speaker 2: nine and eight with somebody, they don't go to the playoffs.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Uh.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You don't strike me as a big conspiracy theory guy,
- 8:39Speaker 1: but let me throw it out to you.
- 8:42Speaker 5: I can't wait. Do the Chiefs Is it about a parade? No,
- 8:46Speaker 5: it's not okay.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Do the Chiefs prefer a matchup with Denver potentially in
- 8:51Speaker 1: the playoffs over both sincey in Miami.
- 8:54Speaker 5: I don't think the Chiefs care who they play in
- 8:56Speaker 5: the playoffs.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I mean, all they do is collect trophies, you know,
- 9:00Speaker 2: so they're the new Patriots. They don't care who they play,
- 9:03Speaker 2: where they play. I mean, we've spent a season talking
- 9:07Speaker 2: about how they don't look good. They're fifteen and one,
- 9:09Speaker 2: so I mean, I just don't I just don't get
- 9:12Speaker 2: all the discussion about the Chiefs having somehow backslid there,
- 9:17Speaker 2: you know, back to everybody else they're fifteen and one.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I mean, they clinched everything before everybody else did.
- 9:24Speaker 1: The second part of it though, And I'm with you,
- 9:26Speaker 1: I don't buy into that at all, that they're going
- 9:27Speaker 1: to lay down for the Broncos because they don't want
- 9:29Speaker 1: to face Miami or anybody in the postseason. But I
- 9:31Speaker 1: will say this, what Miami and Cincinnati pose as a
- 9:35Speaker 1: problem that Denver doesn't is a consistent offense when they're healthy, like.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Well, Joe Burrow, you know, other than Mahomes, you know again,
- 9:45Speaker 2: you know it's just the Broncos problem is right here,
- 9:48Speaker 2: in a nutshell, the AFC has most of the alphas
- 9:53Speaker 2: at quarterback, and you know, if you don't.
- 9:56Speaker 5: Get Mahomes, you're getting Burrow. If you don't get Burrow, you're.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Getting Josh Allen, you're Josh Allen, you're getting Lamar. I mean,
- 10:03Speaker 2: you're down to five alpha quarterbacks. There's only seven playoff spots,
- 10:08Speaker 2: So if you're in the AFC, you need one of
- 10:11Speaker 2: the best quarterbacks in football to miss the playoffs for
- 10:14Speaker 2: you to get in. And you know, that's just where
- 10:17Speaker 2: it's at right now. I don't recall a time where
- 10:21Speaker 2: one conference had this many guys who were just like
- 10:25Speaker 2: MVP candidates every single year.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And that's that's what's crazy though, because on top of that,
- 10:31Speaker 1: Vic has mentioned this before, and I think he's right.
- 10:34Speaker 3: The biggest issue that I see with the Broncos.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Because if you look at like the explosive numbers, everybody's like,
- 10:38Speaker 1: why don't we throw the ball down field? The Broncos
- 10:40Speaker 1: are really good at getting explosive plays. Their issue is
- 10:43Speaker 1: they go three and out a lot in between.
- 10:46Speaker 5: They don't go just a lot.
- 10:47Speaker 2: They lead the league twenty seven and a half percent
- 10:51Speaker 2: of their drives are three and outs.
- 10:53Speaker 5: They had two three and out drives in overtime yep, Saturday.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you just that's not a playoff offense.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Twenty seven percent. You're worse than Carolina, You're worse than Cleveland,
- 11:07Speaker 2: You're worse than Tennessee. I mean, they're last in the league.
- 11:11Speaker 2: They have the most three and outs of any offense
- 11:14Speaker 2: in the NFL.
- 11:15Speaker 3: It just seems that I can't get a read on
- 11:19Speaker 3: what they want out of this offense. One week you're
- 11:22Speaker 3: playing the Cleveland Browns and you're chucking the ball down
- 11:25Speaker 3: the field every time. Then the next week you're just
- 11:27Speaker 3: throwing screens. Why is that? Why is there so much?
- 11:31Speaker 3: Why is it a home run or nothing? With this offense.
- 11:33Speaker 3: That's the way it feels like to me.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Because they you know that they're getting very specific looks
- 11:39Speaker 2: from defenses, vic and because the quarterbacks in the gun
- 11:44Speaker 2: all the time, and they don't challenge all areas of
- 11:48Speaker 2: the field when he is in the gun. So they
- 11:51Speaker 2: can either put him under center and offer more variety
- 11:57Speaker 2: to defense, or they're going to have to be more
- 11:59Speaker 2: accurate when they throw. His big play numbers are pretty good,
- 12:04Speaker 2: but his accuracy numbers are not, and his yards per
- 12:08Speaker 2: completion are not. Uh So, it's a low impact offense
- 12:12Speaker 2: that isn't always accurate. And that's that's a tough mix
- 12:16Speaker 2: to overcome against good teams. I mean, the teams they've beaten.
- 12:21Speaker 2: You gotta I gotta look down so when I when I.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Look at this, But.
- 12:26Speaker 2: The teams they've beaten this year have a winning percentage
- 12:29Speaker 2: of three forty six. Those are their wins. The teams
- 12:33Speaker 2: they've lost to have a winning percentage of six seventy nine.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Uh So, good defenses flumbox them and they have a
- 12:44Speaker 2: difficult time.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Why don't they put them under center?
- 12:46Speaker 4: More.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Why don't they get that play action working way? Don't
- 12:49Speaker 3: think he got running back downhill?
- 12:51Speaker 2: You know, I give Sean Payton credit. He's running more
- 12:54Speaker 2: play action than he ever has as a head coach.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Uh. But that said, it's not.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Always fooling everybody from the gun because you're you're sort
- 13:04Speaker 2: of surrendering half of the field in the run play.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So I think it's just a comfort level. Everything they
- 13:12Speaker 2: do on offense right now is to make a rookie
- 13:15Speaker 2: quarterback as comfortable as possible and to protect him. I mean,
- 13:20Speaker 2: look at Caleb Williams's sack numbers. It might take him
- 13:23Speaker 2: two years to recover from this. You can't get hit
- 13:27Speaker 2: that many times. Nothing ruins a quarterback prospect like getting hit.
- 13:33Speaker 2: And you know this one's gonna leave a mark in Chicago.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You just can't let the guy get sacked that many times.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Jeff lest thing, what's the vibe around the around Dell Valley,
- 13:43Speaker 4: around the room and all that sort of thing? Is it?
- 13:45Speaker 3: Is it tense?
- 13:46Speaker 4: Is it loose?
- 13:46Speaker 3: How does it feel?
- 13:48Speaker 5: You know?
- 13:49Speaker 2: I think they you know, outwardly, it feels pretty normal,
- 13:54Speaker 2: you know, and you know, yesterday they're in the locker
- 13:57Speaker 2: room and they're watching the bowl game, you know, like
- 14:00Speaker 2: the rest of America. You know, it's it's they're putting
- 14:04Speaker 2: in the work, they're you know that the I think
- 14:08Speaker 2: the rookie court, I think bo Nix has said a
- 14:10Speaker 2: great demeanor all season and and I think his teammates
- 14:13Speaker 2: have responded to that.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Uh. But I think the real question is in the moment.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Uh.
- 14:21Speaker 5: You know, this team hasn't always shown the maturity in
- 14:24Speaker 5: the big moments, the football maturity. I mean, not not
- 14:27Speaker 5: as people, but do you make the plays when you
- 14:31Speaker 5: have the opportunity? And and you know that goes to
- 14:33Speaker 5: Sean Payton too. You know, I don't know that they've
- 14:37Speaker 5: I've had defensive coaches tell me this year, Uh, they
- 14:41Speaker 5: just feel like they can wait, wait it out, and
- 14:44Speaker 5: they'll get a mistake, they'll get a three and out.
- 14:47Speaker 5: And you know, I think that's what a playoff team
- 14:50Speaker 5: would do too.
- 14:52Speaker 2: But if you're going to take this many three and
- 14:55Speaker 2: outs to Buffalo, I think that's a bad recipe for
- 14:59Speaker 2: for an upset.
- 14:59Speaker 1: And we we talked about this like there's no meat
- 15:02Speaker 1: left on the bone with how much we discussed this
- 15:04Speaker 1: one thing. But going back to the last game, whether
- 15:06Speaker 1: you wanted them to go for two or not. The
- 15:09Speaker 1: reason that I wanted it is Sean Payton preaches aggressiveness
- 15:13Speaker 1: and tough mentality, and it felt like you could have
- 15:16Speaker 1: stood a lot to gain from a confidence standpoint of
- 15:18Speaker 1: just saying let's go out there and try and win it.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And I was surprised that he blinked and he tried
- 15:23Speaker 1: the field goal unit out there.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I don't think it showed a tremendous amount of confidence.
- 15:29Speaker 2: And where they are an offense, whether they'll admit that
- 15:32Speaker 2: or not, I don't.
- 15:32Speaker 5: I don't know. I also, I think it's even more basic.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I see Joe Burrow over there in a helmet, and
- 15:40Speaker 2: if I have a chance to end the game, I'm
- 15:42Speaker 2: gonna I'm gonna take the chance and end the game.
- 15:44Speaker 2: And you know, now, if they don't make the two,
- 15:48Speaker 2: everybody's critic. You know, we're we're you know, are we
- 15:51Speaker 2: on this on the flip side of the coin? Are
- 15:53Speaker 2: we ripping them because they didn't just tie and go
- 15:55Speaker 2: to overtime? I would say, personally, I would not have
- 16:00Speaker 2: said that. I would have said I think they made
- 16:03Speaker 2: the right play. I you know, I think the players
- 16:07Speaker 2: deep down would would want to go for the win
- 16:09Speaker 2: in that situation. I mean again that you know, you
- 16:12Speaker 2: almost never see a four possession overtime like we did
- 16:16Speaker 2: in the first place, and and to have two three
- 16:19Speaker 2: and outs in overtime, this shows you you weren't You
- 16:22Speaker 2: didn't have momentum, You didn't have whatever it is you
- 16:25Speaker 2: thought you were bringing into overtime.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Uh.
- 16:28Speaker 2: And he always talks about the two point plays as
- 16:32Speaker 2: the Christmas plays, you know, the presence you open. So
- 16:36Speaker 2: you're telling me you don't have one play. Yeah, you'd
- 16:40Speaker 2: be willing to run in that situation, get it to
- 16:43Speaker 2: get the win that clinches your playoff spot. Now that's
- 16:48Speaker 2: momentum into the postseason.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it all makes sense, you know, especially like I
- 16:54Speaker 1: was just trying to go through all of the likelihoods
- 16:56Speaker 1: of what could happen, and it's like, okay, first of all,
- 16:58Speaker 1: you you'd think you got to win the coin flip
- 17:01Speaker 1: in ot to make sure the Burrow doesn't get the
- 17:03Speaker 1: ball first. But those numbers you turn it out there,
