- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so I want to talk to you about non-negotiables today.
- 0:35We all have our list in our head that we think are
- 0:39non-negotiables things that we will never compromise on.
- 0:43But it's interesting because what like most human beings, we
- 0:48think we have a list of things that are absolutely without
- 0:50question non-negotiables. But when certain situations
- 0:54arrived, they become very negotiable and often just
- 0:59overridden by The actions that you take and nothing is more
- 1:04important than understanding. What are my non-negotiables so
- 1:08that you know, where you just, you know, will not let it
- 1:11happen. So for me, I am very very
- 1:13willing to work really hard Monday through Thursday like I
- 1:17can't even begin to tell you. I will work. 6:00 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- 1:22without question back-to-back. Have no issues with it because I
- 1:26am prepared and I have said that is my frame.
- 1:30I'm of work, I can do sessions back-to-back, I can do trainings
- 1:34back-to-back, whatever, I need to do during those time frames,
- 1:37that's it. Now, my non-negotiables are my
- 1:41weekends. I will not coach on the
- 1:43weekends, it's just non-negotiable for me.
- 1:45The time is to be with my family in the evenings.
- 1:49I am done at 7 so that I can be with my family's.
- 1:51My non-negotiable is that time with my family and I make sure
- 1:56that I have my times. When I take the weeks off, That
- 2:01just work. So in my world since I'm the
- 2:03captain of my own schedule, I will always take off weeks that
- 2:07have months that have a fifth week.
- 2:09I always take that fifth week off for multiple reasons, but it
- 2:13also forces me to make sure that I say this is a vacation week.
- 2:17And that's a non-negotiable otherwise it just won't happen.
- 2:21There are certain things that, you know, I think the boundaries
- 2:26of where you spend time with your family and what that means
- 2:29to them is superb. Important to have lined up and
- 2:32if you don't put it there then you will find that you are
- 2:35negotiating into things. And it's slipping and before you
- 2:38know it you are working weekends.
- 2:41You are taking calls and it just doesn't work.
- 2:45You know, another non-negotiable is not having my phone in the
- 2:50bedroom at night. Oh, I know that's a tough one.
- 2:52As you guys hear that, that's a non-negotiable for me because
- 2:55the phone is associated to work. The phone is associated to
- 2:59things that Are required for my work and my bedroom is not so I
- 3:06don't want to have it there with me.
- 3:08I don't want to have it put into a position where it has a hook
- 3:12on me. So, thinking about this, you
- 3:16have to ask yourself. Well, where am I things that are
- 3:18non-negotiable. It's kind of like also my eggs
- 3:22for my chickens in here. So my chickens are just, you
- 3:25know, part of something that is our family.
- 3:29And I I do not sell my eggs at all.
- 3:32I give them away to people. They are for the greater good
- 3:35and gratitude of everybody that, you know, is in our lives.
- 3:40My UPS man, my mailman, my FedEx guy, you name it.
- 3:46If they come to the house regularly they get eggs and I
- 3:50give them to my neighbors and whatnot.
- 3:52It's a non-negotiable for me. It's just the way to give back
- 3:55to the world. So when you start to ask
- 3:58yourself, where are your non-negotiables Where your
- 4:00boundaries where are the things that you know this is something
- 4:04that you want to stand for and or a boundary that you have to
- 4:08have for yourself. You have to decide what those
- 4:11are. Nobody else can because you
- 4:13won't stick to him otherwise and the worst part of it is, when
- 4:16you find that you are breaking your own, you know, ideals and
- 4:20your own boundaries, you feel like crap quite honestly, and
- 4:24that doesn't feel good. But guess what?
- 4:27You actually feel really good when you stick to it.
- 4:30When I say no and I tell somebody no, I'm sorry that's
- 4:33not going to work because that's into my family time.
- 4:35I actually feel really good about it because I said
- 4:38something and I'm sticking to it and for me that just feels like
- 4:41I'm in absolute synchronicity and integrity with myself and
- 4:47the identity that I want to have for myself.
- 4:49So think about your non-negotiables more in line
- 4:52with your identity than anything else.
- 4:55Because if you do it that way, then you're going to most likely
- 4:58be able to stick with it. You'll Able to be more congruent
- 5:02and stick with it. If you think of it that way, if
- 5:04you don't think of it that way, then you have more of a chance
- 5:09of negotiating with yourself. And so what was a non-negotiable
- 5:13in the beginning becomes very negotiable and you don't want to
- 5:16have that happen because that just gives up again a little
- 5:20piece of your identity. So, really look at this for
- 5:22yourself. As we get, ready to wrap up this
- 5:26quarter and you're saying, okay, well now, you know, 90 days The
- 5:30year it's going to have gone by soon.
- 5:33I would really love to know. You know what I want to do with
- 5:36the next part of it and what will be my non-negotiables?
- 5:39What will I stick to? What are those things that
- 5:42matter to me more than anything and that I won't compromise on?
- 5:46All right? My friends.
- 5:47I hope you have a blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow
- 5:50morning. Bye.
- 5:30The year it's going to have gone by soon.
Bye.
